Review Bondi Trattoria - Bondi

Went here with my friends for her hen’s. Started the day off with a wonder lunch. The waiter serving us is very good and nice. He jokes and chats with us but also recommending great dishes and cocktails. We had the roasted bug meat! Super yum, the meat is tender and juicy, the sauce goes well with the bread! Then we also ordered the zucchini flowers, steak tartare and calamari for entree. For the mains, we had the pumpkin ravioli and crab spaghetti. Both are very yummy with fresh pasta! It’s a nice Italian restaurant with a fine location that comes with a view, quality food & good staff! Would recommend to anyone who is heading off to Bondi beach!

Absolutely delicious. The Balmain bugs and zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta sitting on a truffle and honey sauce were both a highlight.

We recently had our team Christmas party at Bondi Trattoria (table of 8). We entrusted in our waiter Max to bring out a selection of their best dishes & he did not disappoint. We enjoyed a selection of oysters, cacciucco Italian fish stew, angel hair pasta with tuna, spaghetti blue swimmer crab, angel hair pasta littleneck clams, mussels in spicy tomato, Scotch fillet steak & roast & spiced cauliflower. We chose to also have a dessert, I ordered Zeppole (ricotta doughnuts). All the food was absolutely delicious! Customer service was top notch. We had a fantastic lunch. Big thanks to Max who looked after us. Would highly recommend this restaurant.

Walked in on a Saturday to see if we could just get a quick drink (half the restaurant was empty), the waiter told us there was no room for dinner. We asked if we could just sit for half an hour for a drink, and he genuinely just straight up told us to F off. The most bizarre encounter, and hugely embarrassing as he started to yell at us to get off the premises when we stopped on our way out to say hi to a friend who was dining here. We have been regulars here for many years and never experienced this before. We will certainly never be back after been treated like this. Shame on you for treating customers so horribly. Edit: after reading more reviews, it seems the new owner is having a bit of a power trip and has ruined the place with his pretentious attitude. The tip is, Alistair, that you can’t run a restaurant without customers. Racism and rudeness won’t get you far. I will be sharing my experience with as many people as possible. DO NOT GO HERE.

The food was the most delicious thing I’ve ever tasted! Everything was a good size portion so my group of friends were able to share all our food amongst each other. Max especially was super helpful and so incredibly kind. Gave us recommendations and made us feel at home! We will definitely be back for our next holiday. So glad we found this little hidden gem. Cannot recommend enough!

Best little hidden gem in Bondi. Loveliest place, food was delicious and so authentic. The ambience was perfect and so homely. Max was the absolute best, made our night so fun and gave helpful recommendations! Will be coming back here with all my friends and family. All of the staff were so accomodating and kind. It’s our favorite restaurant in Sydney. Gives you that authentic feeling of Europe thank you the lovely service the waiters and waitresses. Food is just amazing no matter what you order and you get a great view over the main drag in Bondi and the beach. Most importantly is that it is reasonably priced.

First time dining in at the Tratt with both of our two young kids (been before just us) and the experience and food were amazing. Zucchini flowers are to die for and all the little bits of attention to detail with the kids did not go unnoticed.

I’ve been going here for 24 years and tonight to celebrate my sons 15th birthday. I must say I was disappointed with the attitude of the waitress who continued to roll her eyes with anything I asked for or I said. Bondi is a competitive place with a lot of value offerings so I’m sorry to say won’t be coming back. Staff need to be trained that irrespective of the food they want a great experience. Sorry to say tonight was disappointing for the family.

Just stopped in with the family for coffee. Coffee was fine, but the attitude of 2 staff in particular was abominable! Our patronage was treated as an inconvenience for these two. Terrible representation for your business. Would not recommend this venue due to these 2 staff alone.

Old menu was less pretentious and tasted like home cooking, today my pasta was over-cooked and cost $31/plate!!!! My old favorites are gone and the new menu is not as appealing. Today's dinner was a break-up after going there for 7 years.

Traveling with an extreme high energy toddler is never fun, and we often resign ourselves to eating room service most nights. Tonight we ventured out, terrified after huge tantrums all day. Had read that Bondi Trattoria was very kid friendly, so decided to give it a go. WOW is how I felt! Staff were wonderful, friendly and engaged with our daughter. Menu was great, with an excellent kids selection. Food was absolutely delicious, had that authentic home cooked taste that is synonymous with great Italian restaurants, it was served quickly so our little one wasn't waiting long. There were lots of other families with kids of all ages enjoying dinner too. Five star service, five star food and five stars for being welcoming to families while still giving parents a classy menu to choose from! Will be coming back in the morning for breakfast.

How can you not love fresh pasta, great service and friendly staff? Bondi Tratt is not just for locals, it was well worth the drive from the Central Coast.

Thank you Alistair your restaurant is beautiful and I just knew that with you there it was going to be an excellent experience for my friend that I and we where not disappointed at all. Great food and that dip was to die for and awesome service and exceptional views .So thank you and your staff for a great night out.

Second visit for us!! Nowhere better to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon long lunch. Oysters were superb as was the delicious lamb ribs and bug tails. Service always friendly. Highly recommend!! Nice view too 😊

Love this place, it's so kid friendly, foods amazing & huge portions, service is friendly if a bit slow at times, but they're so accommodating especially to families and we come back at least once a week. One of my favs as a Bondi local

Beautiful lunch here today and ate here about 10 months ago for dinner, the same beautiful food. Very family friendly and stunning food. Wish we lived closer ! It would be a weekly dinner out !

Celebrated my birthday dinner here. Wait staff were very helpful with any menu questions. Everything we ordered was delicious & beautifully presented. Looking forward to our next dining experience as our first visit was excellent. My friends are still talking about how great the food & location was looking down along Bondi Beach.

The food, as usual, is great but our experience was made all the better by our waiter/manager, man with many hats, Steve. Our wine glasses were never empty; when I asked for some ice, he replenished this whenever he saw more was needed. As we were sharing plates, he even brought out portions that all 3 of us could enjoy. Unfortunately, we didn't tell him how good our experience was, as he had already gone home. Well done, Steve.

I used to absolutely LOVE this place! Seems to have gone a little downhill over the past 18months. Hopefully, shall pick up their game again :)

One of the best Sydney restaurants that I have ever been to. Food A+ Service A+ Location A- but that's not their fault.

Excellent restaurant. Staff are very friendly and professional. The food is fantastic. Highly recommend Bondi Trattoria.
