Great place for tacos! Recommend the soft shell crab & fish tacos! Beef & pork also good!
Service was fast & friendly.
Can access this via level 3 inside the Bondi Junction shopping centre of via ground floor

Lovedddd this place!
Full of flavour.
Great vibe and fun decor.
Will totally come back.
Even if something doesn’t say it’s spicy or has chilli, it’ll most likely still be Spicy.
Bitttt too pricey but still worth a try.

Great authentic Mexican restaurant with the best tasting fresh guacamole! Loved the theme and decor. What I was told was the least spiciest option on the menu turned out to be very spicy- besides that the flavours were great 😊

With its colourful decor, wooden hut booths and cactuses aplenty (including the glassware), this Mexican restaurant on the rooftop of The Eastern Hotel is a bit of fun. You completely forget that you’re actually dining inside Westfield Bondi Junction (that is until you spot The Shaver Shop peaking through the doorway).

The menu is equally as fun, taking you straight to Mexico – the southern state of Oaxacan to be exact – with things like jalapeno poppers, charred corn and empanadas. Then there’s eight different varietals of tacos, laden with everything from baja fish to soft shell crab.

The cocktails are unreal, says someone who drinks wine over cocktails 9.9 times out of 10. My personal fav: ‘I’m In Love With The Coco’ – an alcoholic concoction of elderflower, coconut, citrus, cucumber, bitters, lemongrass and Don Julio Reposado tequila.

Had made a booking for 2 prior to coming here on a weeknight. This is my second time here and for some reason, I had a more satisfying experience this time around even though I thought I was going to cry (in pain) after trying "da bomb" sauce on one of the tacos. We ordered the tortilla chips with avocado salsa and pico de gallo to start off. These are the probably the nicest tortilla chips I have ever had. They had a satisfying crunch to them and were seriously so addictive. For the mains, we decided to try the taco roulette andet me warn you beforehand, this is NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED! I generally have a high tolerance for chilli however, after trying a single piece of cabage that had been laced in this deadly sauce, I found myself downing gallons of water and at one point, considered requesting for milk (which we later found out they provide for victims). Having said this, all the other tacos were really delicious and service was so prompt and friendly. Also, this place is so aesthetic with its Mexican-influenced decor and music. Highly recommend this place for its good vibes, good feed and super cute interior!

It is a really lovely place and you can find the whole restaurant is in Mexican style: the decoration, the music. The churros are nice with tequila and chocolate dip but one plate is only enough for one person. The lamb share plate is really delicious , I strongly recommend! Overall it is an awesome place that you and your friends can hang and relax and drink margaritas

Service and food were very good. The happy hour margrita however was a big let down.
It was 60% full and the glass edge were not surrounded by salt. Some salt were stick on some random places on the glass, and some were melted. The dry lemon slice on top were kind of pointless. For a moment I wasn't sure whether it was tasted by some other customers and returned and then brought to my table. I checked the margaritas brought to other tables. They look the same. That was when I was ok to drink it.

We made it just in the nick of time to get the sangria for happy hour! The pork taco was good, and the tofu one was even better, but the best of the three was the beef taco! Tortilla with guacamole and salsa also deelish!

Wow- I was very impressed by el topo in Bondi junction. Personally, Mexican has never really been a favourite of mine and usually I get dragged along to the mediocre taco bill, however, I was pleasantly surprised by el topo. The taco's we ordered were all very small, but absolutely packed with flavour. The pork taco was my favourite. A friend also ordered a chicken dish which was also scrumptious. But, the cocktails were the true stars of the show- we were all sober and were not planning to drink but we're very happy when our strawberry and chilli margaritas arrived. Very pleased.

FOOD QUALITY
Four of us dined on a chilly mid-winter Sunday eve in July.We ordered a selection of dishes to share, skipping the entree/mains distinction, except for a plate of totopos guacamole ($9) - that’s the corn chips with a creamy avo dip - and a couple of refreshing Sol beers, to start things off with. We choose four fish tacos and four chicken tacos ($6 a taco), a Mex street salad ($10) and a beef and bean enchilada ($24). We all enjoyed the food. It was beautifully prepared with love, care and attention to detail and presented to the table on attractive wood or stone serving trays. The fish and chicken tacos were soft and succulent and I loved the well cooked beef and bean enchilada. The salad was appetising and tasty. Clearly, only the finest quality ingredients are used, as it all tasted fresh and wholesome. Serving sizes were just right for us so we didn’t leave feeling hungry or bloated.

ATMOSPHERE
There was a small turnout on the night we dined, with only a handful of other diners. We were seated in a large booth, which had space for about six to eight people. The booths are private and secluded, so even though the place was quite empty, we didn’t notice it too much. As one would expect from a Mex restaurant, decor is colourful and bright, and a lot of time, effort and money has obviously gone into creating the right interior design to suit the South American vibe. It was just a pity that it was so quiet, which tended to make the atmosphere a tad soulless, despite the cheerful surrounds.

SERVICE
Service was outstanding. All my emails were promptly responded to, making the booking process a breeze. When we arrived, our reserved booth was ready and waiting for us. The waitress was friendly, helpful and efficient, but without being overbearing or obsequious. Orders were promptly taken, and the food was brought out by the chef in double quick time. First the salad, followed soon thereafter by the other dishes. The maitre d who attended to payment was also polite and friendly.

COMFORT
I found the booth seating to be a bit cramped and claustrophobic. Pity the person sitting right at the end if they want to go out to the toilet. Everyone else would have to get out first. The table is long and thin, but sufficient to be able to easily handle all the plates, dishes and bottles although of course it is designed to seat six people and we were only four. If I ever went to El Topo again though, especially if we are six people, I would not choose to sit in a booth, but rather one of the regular tables in the middle of the restaurant

MENU
The menu is almost impossible to read in the dim lighting. It’s made worse by the small font and faint, washed out colour scheme on the pages. Luckily I had my daughters with me - their eyes are better than mine - and they managed to decipher it with the help of phone torch.

TOILETS
Shopping centre toilets are outside the restaurant in the nearby food court. But being Westfield, of course, they’re clean, adequate and well provisioned.

ACOUSTICS
The booths are quite well insulated so we had no trouble conversing, although the small turnout probably also helped. But just for the record, though, this could be a noisy venue with all the concrete, tiling and wood and not a noise absorber anywhere to be seen.

COST
We came armed with our 25% Ent Book voucher (up to a max of $30) so that kept our bill to a modest $86 for the four of us. That bought us two beers, one mango juice, a salad, eight tacos, a plate of corn chips with dip and a beef and bean enchilada.

BOOKING
Doesn’t seem necessary except perhaps for a Fri or Sat night.

PARKING/ACCESS
Westfield BJ offers free parking after 6pm seven nights a week.

SUMMARY
We had a pleasant evening here and everything went off smoothly. The food is delicious and service is fast, friendly and efficient. The ambience is relaxed and casual. Prices are reasonable with your Ent Book discount and being in a Westfield Shopping Centre, you’ll enjoy free parking in the evening, a safe and pleasant environment with clean and adequate bathroom facilities. On the negative side,I found the lighting too gloomy and dim, making the menu impossible to read, and the booth seating, cramped. I was expecting a lively and rather noisy venue, but the lack of other diners made it fairly quiet and laid back.

MEMO
Although not stated, if you book through Dimmi, you can’t use your Ent Book voucher.

The food is very tasty and a bit spicy (as expected). We really loved the beef queso fundido which was delicious. We would like to visit again to try some of the other dishes, however the restaurant was really noisy even though it wasn't quite full at the time we dined, so probably won't as it was too much effort trying to hear each other. Also, in the spot where we were sitting, it was too dark to read the menu without the aid of a torch! If you are just looking for good food, you will find it here.

Taco Tuesday is the day to come, half price of all tacos. Good place for shared plates, but the food was just ok. Good for groups because of the ambience, and good selection of beers and cocktails. Not a place to bring kids, though they do have a kids menu. I'll only come back on Tuesdays.

Gourmet tacos can be pricey, but they are extremely worth it! $6 per taco or they do have specials for a plater of food if you choose to go that route. Insane pork taco! Flavor profile is spot on. Platanos Fritos were really nice and it came with a good sauce, too. I did try the mushroom taco and it was alright. I’ll be honest that I was looking for a different flavor profile for it. Overall, this place is such a fun and cool atmosphere, I recommend giving it a go.

Muy bien as always! Our new go to Mexican restaurant! The Pollo, Rotisserie Corn Fed Chicken is to die for with corn puree. As is the Pork Carnita, melts in your mouth. Perfectly seasoned, fresh ingredients and Sangria to top of a wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff!

It’s been quite a few years since I’ve visited this place. I do miss the outdoor section which was nice on nice balmy days. The food & service is still as good, with drinks & food coming out relatively quick. Highly recommend the soft shell crab & fish tacos! You can access this place via the lift from the ground floor (Good Time burgers level) or level 3 from inside Bondi Junction.

Cosy place with a contemporary Mexican atmosphere. I ordered some chicken quesadillas, it was tasty and spicy, as Mexican food is meant to be. My wife ordered a raspberry cheesecake cocktail. She said it was smooth, creamy and sweet. She definitely like it. I won't give them five stars because the waitress forgot to bring us a round of cocktails.
