Perfect for a nice takeaway meal with the BBQ chicken or Portuguese style chicken a winner. They offer a really wide selection from salads, roasted vegetables and protein options. Thumbs up.

Quick simple bite. Food is ok quality. Chicken selection is good and many salad choices too. Don't expect restaurant quality but generally affordable.

It is not the best customer service I found, but the food it is good most of the time. I live next door so I will keep going in this place.

Absolutely disgusting. Not fresh in the slightest! Most unhelpful staff I have ever come across. Asked for recommendations as never went before, seems this was a mistake. Spent $30 inedible made myself feel sick to try and eat it and my girlfriend wouldn't even touch it it smelt so bad.

Been going here for a few years now. Always great food, highly recommend the Portuguese chicken and some of the best chips in Bondi. Wide range of salads and other sides. Recently ordered the wrong items but big thanks to the wonderful Swedish staff member who was quick to help out and fix me up as i was in a hurry!!

I wanted to buy a chicken and chips, being Sunday afternoon we googled charcoal children at Bondi and got The Char Rotisserie. Great reviews we thought. Boy were they wrong. I bought a whole chicken and chips after asking the staff behind the counter for some basic prices and meal deals. Well the staff were I'llinformed, I was just hungry by five pm since I had no lunch. To my surprise the girls tried to be helpful but I found them to be artificial in their attempts, because they are tourists and they need the money, not because they want to be helpful. I was a bit dubious about the Portuguese children on display and I asked for the one I pointed at to be cut up and ordered medium chips. While waiting for the chips to be made, the girl asked me to pay for the meal. A few minutes later I got my meal and was on my way to mothers place for dinner down the road. As we opened the children, it smelled nothing like Portuguese children I am used to from "Frango" the real charcoal children. It was dry and must have been there under the lamps for hours. Definitely not the one I pointed to. The best thing about the meal was the chips. During these tough times poor service and poor quality food is a recepy for disaster. I refuse to accept poor quality food. Maybe in time this business will learn. Hopefully not too late. Maybe it's poor staff training or poor management. Don't know, don't care. I can not recommend this place to anyone. John, local residents.

I have eaten here many times - always happy. Tonight my daughter (11) wanted a caesar salad and we obliged, When we go it home she said it tasted fishy and wouldn't eat it. I discovered whole anchovies in the salad - surely people should be given the option or told they are the salad. Totally understand they are in the dressing but to have whole!!!!!!m YUCK - I have never experienced this in any other chicken shop on Bondi Road - or anywhere for that matter.

Go to the Bronte Char all the time, always happy with the food, staff are great and very friendly...BUT...could you please, please, PLEASE use a ticketing system!!! Trust me, on our side of the counter it's often chaotic as sadly, not all your customers are quite as polite as they could be. Simply calling out a number will fix the question of who's next...quickly!

This food was amazing. I had my heart set on eating by the beach but your salads drew me in and the crispy skinned chicken breast sealed the deal. Zero regrets!

Thank you to The Char for the most amazing turkeys!We picked up our beautifully cooked birds Christmas morning - definitely the most succulent and tasty turkeys I have ever served, perfectly stuffed and divinely flavoursome. Thanks for making our Christmas Day even more special - and more importantly relieving me of hours in the kitchen!! The Char turkeys have definitely become one of our Christmas traditions!

The grilled chicken burg was pretty good besides the overly sweet bun. However, after experiencing pains that represented satans spawn attacking my insides all evening after eating it, it is now 4am and I have been up for hours spilling molten lava out of my ringhole. � Ouchy �����

I'm extremely disappointed by my experience this evening, I have always loved the Char and have been telling my my friends about it. Tonight we tried to order food on deliveroo but for some reason it didn't work, so we called Char. The guy was awesome and couldn't be nicer, providing us with a solution to order our food. After this it went down hill, the two girls we spoke to were just rude on the phone. We were advised the delay was due to the deliveroo driver, which is out of everyone's control, however a phone call would have been appreciated. Our food had been ready for 10 minutes at this point according to the girl we spoke to, and we still didn't receive it until 20 minutes later. As you can guess, our food was cold when we received it!! To top things off, after receiving cold food and awful service...our order was wrong too! $70 on a bad experience with the Char has really disappointed me, especially as I'm usually so happy!!

INCREDIBLE CATERING! We needed some chicken and salads for my 40th Birthday, hosted by my 90+yo grandparents in the Sutherland Shire. Phil was so easy and efficient to deal with, and personally delivered our order to Randwick early on a Sunday morning, arriving 10min earlier than arranged. Everything was packaged securely ready for serving, the food traveled well and was absolutely delicious. My family could not believe the salads were made by a chicken shop. Thank you for making it so easy, expect to hear from us again!!

Best bacon and egg roll ever

We have Char cater our weekly lunch group at Fishburners in Ultimo. The food is absolutely delicious and it is always a joy working with the people at Char to make it happen. Today's lunch was particularly delicious-our members couldn't stop complimenting the food!

The beef stroganoff is a delicious meal served in generous portions.

This is one of the best rotisserie shop I’ve ever visit.<br/>Walk around the shop and can’t resist of the wonderful aroma of fresh herbs and spices that marinated chickens that amazingly cooking when I entered the shop.<br/>Bought chicken pie, it was super yummy! The most comfort food in cold day! <br/>Those pie filling was generous and so tasty!<br/>Then marinated ½ chicken that I’ve bought with some soy sauce, chilli and coriander, visually so tempting and caramelization on the skin is unbelievable! <br/>I would be happy having this kinda food all day, everyday! <br/><br/><br/>

We had Char Rotisserie through Uber Eats. We had a whole chicken, chips, crispy wings, coleselaw and the green salad (broccoli, snow peas with a sesame dressing).. The chicken was juicy, flavoursome and conveniently already cut into 4 pieces. The crispy wings were as advertised but the wings were smaller than expected (4 wingettes for $10). Salads were tasty and a nice complement to the chicken.&nbsp; The chips were okay but they didn&#039;t have enough seasoning. Overall it cost $55 to feed the 3 of us which is pretty decent for takeaway if you&#039;re looking for something cheap and easy.

Everything tasted great. I had a quarter of chicken breast and fried rice, it was amazing! The chicken was very moist and fried rice was delicious!

We visited The Char for something different. It's essentially a chicken shop, but also has some wonderful salads on display, as well as.......wait for it.......burgers!!! Both chicken and beef. I had the beef burger - Char Paradiso. It has beef, salad , beetroot and pineapple (I didn't realise it had fruit on it until later - that's my fault!) <br/>Bun- A little dry<br/>Meat - party was too firm for my liking<br/>Salad - not bad<br/>All in all, it was a good burger, but not a great burger. I'll visit again to try other things, and perhaps change my rating.

The tastiest salads, chickens, burgers, chips, veggies, meats, everything! fast and great service. Not a week goes by we don't do a char run.

We ordered take away for 4 people. 2 burgers with chips and 2 salads. Whilst the salads look pretty decent, they are actually pretty misleading as they provide most the cheap stuff from the bottom despite paying $10 for a salad (the Greek salad consisted largely of lettuce and some of the lettuce was brown).<br/><br/>Burgers took around 6m to make and only after they were completed did they start to make the chips. After the burgers had been cooling down for 5m, I asked where the chips were as I thought the burgers would be cold. I checked the burgers and they were cold. They brought me the chips and I told them he burgers were now cold and they just looked at me with a blank face.<br/><br/>How this place has several people in at a time must solely be because the staff do not know how to deal with the customers.<br/><br/>Never again.

Bondi RD Char Shop I had take-away from "Char" on May-9/5//2016. We had chicken-Schnitzel/Quarter Portuguese chicken/Chips/Steamed-Veges/Fried Rice. <br/>Positives: <br/>Chicken-Schniztel 5-stars, just about the best I ever have had from a chicken shop/hamburger shop, really good chicken Breast, nice thickness-good breadcrumbs used. Portuguese chicken was good too, steamed veges were fresh as well(Broccoli/carrots/zucchini. Fried rice was really fresh and nice(the produce in the fried rice was good quality e.g. (egg/veges/rice).<br/>Negatives:<br/>The "CHIPS": Guys I'm gonna be honest the chips I ordered were ZERO out of 5 stars, they were rubbish in my view, and I'm being honest and serious I'm telling the truth not lyeing. I like thick cut chips, and the Char has that, but the "Chips-The Potatoes" were just flavourless, and seemed so fatty and oily and lacked freshness, that lot of chips I was served were inedible, I didn't eat them. So my "strong advice" is have different style of chips. The thickness is fine, but change your choice of potatoes if you cut them yourself/or choice of oil/or where you get your frozen chips(as most chicken shops are frozen which is fine by the way), but honestly those chips were hopeless and uneatable. I don't mind paying a bit extra money for good quality food(Char is not the cheapest restaurant nor the most expensive, you get what you pay for, and I been to char a few times as I'm willing to pay more money for a better quality chicken-shop/hamburger shop style food), but your "Chips" need a review, is my strong advice. Good chips go well with chicken, so it's an important extra. Maybe some golden roast potato style wedges maybe. But your chips were awful the only real bad part of my menu order. <br/>Fried rice: Was delicious as said, only complaint was it had a bit too much shallots in it, but that was all. <br/>All in all a very positive experience at Char, with everything I ordered, accept for the "Chips", if you read this review, I hope you have a full review of the type of chips you have and how you prepare them e.g. type of oil etc or any other thing, as the chips as I said were awful(based on my experience). I will eat at Char again, but may avoid the chips for a while until they change them.

Great takeaway outlet. Limited seating area. Service is pleasant and friendly - even when they're inexperienced etc. <br/><br/>The food is consistently delicious. My last visit I got the marinated chicken (with steamed rice and veggies) and it was freaking yummy - I want the recipe lol. <br/><br/>I've tried a few of their salads as well - the avocado / green beans is my favourite. He wraps aren't my favourite but the burgers especially the chicken schnitzel have me coming back for more. Shame sometimes I get the brioche buns and sometimes just plain white. I suppose it depends on their stock.

Great little restaurant and take away outlet. Delicious range of fresh salads, hearty pasta dishes and a selection of meat dishes available. Service was a bit chaotic with nobody using the ticketing system but it was worth the wait.

No delivery after 1 hour 15 minutes. Upon calling to see what was going on with the order after a significant wait, no apology. A joke<br/>dont bother

Great food, possibly too much variety!. The Char has an enormous range of meals and salads. Everything I've tried has been delicious. The roast chickens are beautifully cooked and don't have the "sickly sweet" saucy flavour like some of the chain store ones, that makes them taste like they're covered in dessert sauce instead of being a savoury meal. The chips are soft and fluffy on the inside and perfect outside, and the hot meals are tasty and fresh. There are specials that change in the hot food and salad section each day, the servings are generous and everything is freshly done. They sell little pots of dessert, well they aren't that little, and they are rich and yummy.<br/><br/>If I have one issue with this place it's that the menu is confusing. Some things are sold by the "one", like chicken kebabs or pork ribs, and some by the container, and for the life of me I can never find what I'm looking for on the blackboard menus fast enough. So if I order a large serve of ribs it's not a large container filled with ribs, it's the same size serve, then you can get vegetables either as a meal deal or choose a size and buy them separately. Other dishes you just pick a size of container and get a matching size one of rice with it (note to the staff: this system is simpler). Maybe I'm just easily confused, I wouldn't rule it out. The staff are always happy to help and explain what the meals are, but the place gets so busy, better signage would help.<br/><br/>Also if you could open an extra 10 minutes at night, I'd appreciate it, I keep missing you by just THAT much! :)

Not worth it. Absolutely not worth going. Bad service and staff playing behind the counter or talking to each other while i am ordering and at the end get me the wrong food which was soo bad could even eat it ;-(

New favourite. Just back from a delicious meal in The Char and was so impressed I had to jump online and spread the word.<br/>Fantastic food, lovely staff & reasonable prices too. A welcomed addition to Bondi Road. GO!!!

Healthy & Delicious. Most amazing selection of salads. I have ordered something new every day I go there. Never a dull meal. Atmosphere is young and fresh and food is sublime.

Amazed. When you walk in you are amazed with the modernised architectureand features on the wall including the story board. You are then greeted with friendly, helpful staff the prices are average and the food is incredible and heathy! Free tap water is offered and u can dine in at a large conventional table. The store is clean and best of all the food Is great !

Absolutely not worth going. Bad service and untrained staff. Ordered a large salad at $10.90, was suppose to be a rocket, avocado & feta salad. You would think a large salad would feed two people as we got home and to eat all that was in the TA container was a couple of lettuce leaves no avocado, no feta just plain lettuce!!!! Definitely worth $10.90!!

Heathy, great value and super tasty. <br/><br/>Awesome selection of salads that get mixed up from day to day, throw in the right fraction of Portuguese chicken with Peri Peri sauce and prepare for your face to melt.<br/><br/>Nice to eat in as well, 2 big communal tables with free cold tap water bottles. And there's this girl called Chloe who likes to eat there too. She's amazing.<br/><br/>All in all it's highly recommended.
