This food was amazing. I had my heart set on eating by the beach but your salads drew me in and the crispy skinned chicken breast sealed the deal. Zero regrets!

This is one of the best rotisserie shop I’ve ever visit.
Walk around the shop and can’t resist of the wonderful aroma of fresh herbs and spices that marinated chickens that amazingly cooking when I entered the shop.
Bought chicken pie, it was super yummy! The most comfort food in cold day!
Those pie filling was generous and so tasty!
Then marinated ½ chicken that I’ve bought with some soy sauce, chilli and coriander, visually so tempting and caramelization on the skin is unbelievable!
I would be happy having this kinda food all day, everyday!
Everything tasted great. I had a quarter of chicken breast and fried rice, it was amazing! The chicken was very moist and fried rice was delicious!
The tastiest salads, chickens, burgers, chips, veggies, meats, everything! fast and great service. Not a week goes by we don't do a char run.

Bondi RD Char Shop I had take-away from "Char" on May-9/5//2016. We had chicken-Schnitzel/Quarter Portuguese chicken/Chips/Steamed-Veges/Fried Rice.
Positives:
Chicken-Schniztel 5-stars, just about the best I ever have had from a chicken shop/hamburger shop, really good chicken Breast, nice thickness-good breadcrumbs used. Portuguese chicken was good too, steamed veges were fresh as well(Broccoli/carrots/zucchini. Fried rice was really fresh and nice(the produce in the fried rice was good quality e.g. (egg/veges/rice).
Negatives:
The "CHIPS": Guys I'm gonna be honest the chips I ordered were ZERO out of 5 stars, they were rubbish in my view, and I'm being honest and serious I'm telling the truth not lyeing. I like thick cut chips, and the Char has that, but the "Chips-The Potatoes" were just flavourless, and seemed so fatty and oily and lacked freshness, that lot of chips I was served were inedible, I didn't eat them. So my "strong advice" is have different style of chips. The thickness is fine, but change your choice of potatoes if you cut them yourself/or choice of oil/or where you get your frozen chips(as most chicken shops are frozen which is fine by the way), but honestly those chips were hopeless and uneatable. I don't mind paying a bit extra money for good quality food(Char is not the cheapest restaurant nor the most expensive, you get what you pay for, and I been to char a few times as I'm willing to pay more money for a better quality chicken-shop/hamburger shop style food), but your "Chips" need a review, is my strong advice. Good chips go well with chicken, so it's an important extra. Maybe some golden roast potato style wedges maybe. But your chips were awful the only real bad part of my menu order.
Fried rice: Was delicious as said, only complaint was it had a bit too much shallots in it, but that was all.
All in all a very positive experience at Char, with everything I ordered, accept for the "Chips", if you read this review, I hope you have a full review of the type of chips you have and how you prepare them e.g. type of oil etc or any other thing, as the chips as I said were awful(based on my experience). I will eat at Char again, but may avoid the chips for a while until they change them.
Great takeaway outlet. Limited seating area. Service is pleasant and friendly - even when they're inexperienced etc.
The food is consistently delicious. My last visit I got the marinated chicken (with steamed rice and veggies) and it was freaking yummy - I want the recipe lol.
I've tried a few of their salads as well - the avocado / green beans is my favourite. He wraps aren't my favourite but the burgers especially the chicken schnitzel have me coming back for more. Shame sometimes I get the brioche buns and sometimes just plain white. I suppose it depends on their stock.
Great little restaurant and take away outlet. Delicious range of fresh salads, hearty pasta dishes and a selection of meat dishes available. Service was a bit chaotic with nobody using the ticketing system but it was worth the wait.

Great food, possibly too much variety!. The Char has an enormous range of meals and salads. Everything I've tried has been delicious. The roast chickens are beautifully cooked and don't have the "sickly sweet" saucy flavour like some of the chain store ones, that makes them taste like they're covered in dessert sauce instead of being a savoury meal. The chips are soft and fluffy on the inside and perfect outside, and the hot meals are tasty and fresh. There are specials that change in the hot food and salad section each day, the servings are generous and everything is freshly done. They sell little pots of dessert, well they aren't that little, and they are rich and yummy.
If I have one issue with this place it's that the menu is confusing. Some things are sold by the "one", like chicken kebabs or pork ribs, and some by the container, and for the life of me I can never find what I'm looking for on the blackboard menus fast enough. So if I order a large serve of ribs it's not a large container filled with ribs, it's the same size serve, then you can get vegetables either as a meal deal or choose a size and buy them separately. Other dishes you just pick a size of container and get a matching size one of rice with it (note to the staff: this system is simpler). Maybe I'm just easily confused, I wouldn't rule it out. The staff are always happy to help and explain what the meals are, but the place gets so busy, better signage would help.
Also if you could open an extra 10 minutes at night, I'd appreciate it, I keep missing you by just THAT much! :)

Amazed. When you walk in you are amazed with the modernised architectureand features on the wall including the story board. You are then greeted with friendly, helpful staff the prices are average and the food is incredible and heathy! Free tap water is offered and u can dine in at a large conventional table. The store is clean and best of all the food Is great !

Awesome selection of salads that get mixed up from day to day, throw in the right fraction of Portuguese chicken with Peri Peri sauce and prepare for your face to melt.
Nice to eat in as well, 2 big communal tables with free cold tap water bottles. And there's this girl called Chloe who likes to eat there too. She's amazing.
All in all it's highly recommended.
Perfect for a nice takeaway meal with the BBQ chicken or Portuguese style chicken a winner. They offer a really wide selection from salads, roasted vegetables and protein options. Thumbs up.

It is not the best customer service I found, but the food it is good most of the time. I live next door so I will keep going in this place.
Been going here for a few years now. Always great food, highly recommend the Portuguese chicken and some of the best chips in Bondi. Wide range of salads and other sides. Recently ordered the wrong items but big thanks to the wonderful Swedish staff member who was quick to help out and fix me up as i was in a hurry!!
