Review Whitehorse Chloe - Box Hill

Andrew L
Nice modern cafe in Box Hill. The smoking croissant benedict was an absolute winner!!! Eggs were poached perfectly and sour pickles were the perfect addition. It was plain delicious - 5/5. The sesame panna cotta was smooth and flavoursome. It did need some kind of liquid (milk, yoghurt) as it was fairly dry. Presentation wise, it's beautiful! 4/5 Service was friendly and they are so aware of ppl taking pics and videos of their meals they actually tell you to get the camera ready lol.

Really clean and classy looking restaurant tucked away at the base of one of the new towers in Box Hill. Service was quick as the place was unexpectedly quiet, not that we were complaining. We ordered the Smashed Avo and the Summer Goddess, each with a side of bacon, because... Bacon! Food was fresh and tasty and beautifully presented. The bacon was smoky and crispy and emotional! We'll be back!

I got a few friends to try Whitehorse Chloe with me, and even though they don’t allow bookings under 8 people, they kindly made an exception and let us book for 6 with a high chair. I called the morning before to confirm the booking and the high chair but the staff seemed a bit confused, but did managed to confirm my booking. When I arrived though the high chair was nowhere in sight and I had to ask again. We got seated along a very narrow walkway and the sun was shining right into our eyes, and even though they kindly pulled down the blinds, there is just this one little floor to ceiling windows without blinds that had the sun shining in our eyes all throughout our meal. We ordered coffees which didn’t arrive for a good 20 mins, and this happened twice. My soy mocha was so bitter that it was undrinkable, and the staff said she will check? (Not sure how they normally check. Do they taste the coffee I sipped already?!) anyway thankfully they are happy to replace with a soy hot chocolate instead. What I really loved was their lobster burger. Tender succulent pieces of lobster on a green (matcha? Pandan? Just green colour for insta effect? Can’t really taste it) bun, which was really delicious. Kiddies had a breakfast board which they loved with avocado, egg and vegemite soldiers, coyo w granola and orange juice. They smashed it before I can say Yummy breakfast board. We also had the salmon croquettes which had interesting elements like omelette lollipop (Japanese sweet omelette on a stick) but overall I felt the salmon was a bit too fishy for my liking. All in all, the food was really good but the service is dismal and my mocha is not that great (although my dining companions coffees are fine)

Friendly barista, good food, but don't sit next to the windows on a hot day. Owner lady doing smoothie was super b*tchy as they were clearly very short staffed but kept telling her waiters off. Even us as customers were understanding but she were slowly doing her things or chatting with friends which really added to the fire. Our food did also take 30mins to come out so it was a bit disappointing considering we sat without aircon on a 40C day, we weren't comfortable at all. Waiting staff was trying his best but we didn't get our menu until 15mins in. The whole experience took a while.

Wow What a beautiful lunch and experience I just had here. Being a cold brew fan,. I was stocked when they brought my cold brew which I'm sure to them it was something simple but to me it looked amazing...and it tasted just as good as it looked. For a meal I chose the fat piggy...mainly because of the name...and I was so impressed with this also...that pork belly, succulent and tasty...the soft boiled egg perfect for me.

Saw this place when I drive pass Whitehorse Road, so decide to pop in for a coffee and small bite before dinner. Coffees were average. Ordered Umami chips (was expecting seasoned chips), but it comes out just normal unseasoned fries (not even salt) with a bit of sriracha mayo on the side. That’s very misleading, if I was told it is just normal fries, I wouldn’t order it for sure. Other than that, service was great.

coffe is good, food is OK. The 1st floor of cafe shop seems quite big but there are only six tables, and tables are very close to each other.
K
Coffee above average. Food fantastic! Walkable from box hill central car park

Nice brunch setting with instagrammable features. Coffee was alright. Service was fair. Food was like every other brunch place. Nothing too outstanding.

Almond croissant was nice
Congee was nice
Toast was tasty even without the spreads
Just missing the 1 star for not being open on the night ( reviewing dinner menu🤔)
Eating Away Melbourne
Upon walking in, the shop looks a bit sad and empty to be honest, lunch time there was 1 customer thats it, I always love a shop with a bit of a pumping vibe this one didnt have it.

But I still sat down and ordered a salmon croquette, or something croquette. It was sooooo good. I should not judge the vibe, at that moment I only cared about how yummy everything was put together. That dish was $18 a reasonable price, but I think I did see something at $28. A bit of a shocker for a cafe price I guess.

Service was friendly and quick.
Sunny Days Melbourne
Whitehorse Chloe is a lovely addition to the ever growing number of cafes in the Boxhill area. Their fusion menu is relatively interesting and service is reasonable.

It was a nice and sunny day when we decided to visit this cafe. The plating of all their food was certainly very impressive. My charcoal waffle was almost too pretty to eat. It was a delicious dish which was accentuated by the multiple toppings. The kimchi ramen was well prepared - the broth was full of umami goodness and the ramen itself had a lovely springy texture.

Whoever Chloe is, she's doing a pretty good job!

Food: present well but flavour is very average, not very outstanding.
Coffee: coffee is good, rich and nutty, is the flavour I like.
Service: not so good. Friend and I were sitting there almost 20minutes, no one was bothered to offer us water or ask if we wanted some drink to start with while we still deciding what to eat. One staff member was playing her phone and few others were chatting in the corner. We had to speak loud to get the attention to order.
Overall: we not going back again.

Interior was modern and clean, staff were friendly.
The cafe itself is quite squishy....so not great for prams.
My friend and I ordered the smoking croissant and salmon croquette...lovely presentation.
Overall was a nice and enjoyable meal, on the small size, slightly underwhelming..I mean I would dine there again..but would I crave to go back...no.
Coffee was ok.

Had breakfast here and was a bit underwhelmed to be honest. Food was ok (just ok), but took pretty long to come out which was a bit annoying given it was pretty quiet when we came in. Pretty average.
Platecreative
Whitehorse Chloe brings so much class and sophistication to Box Hill, and with its unique take on modern Asian fusion cuisine, this venue has really stepped up their game in the Melbourne food scene. We've teamed up with @whitehorsechloe to give you the chance to win a dining experience at Whitehorse Chloe Box Hill.

You know that moment when you’re eating like Cookie Monster cos the dish in front of your face was just that good 🤪? Embarrassingly enough, between licking my fingers, smothering my face in perfectly cooked mussels 🐚 and ragu beef Bolognese 🍝, my entire eating etiquette went out the window at Whitehorse Chloe😂. If you wanna have a finger licking meal, then you have to go try their dinner menu!

Great place to have coffee or lunch with a work colleague
Friendly staff
Very stylish modernised cafe with great elements such as punctual staff and great coffee
Be sure to return
The Fo0die
Fo0die dined as a guest of Whitehorse Chloe and as such, the rating does not give any consideration to customer service.

Whitehorse Chloe is a breakfast/brunch destination in the morning, offers high tea in the late afternoon and then serves dinner during the evening. Our review will cover our two visits; one for brunch and the other for their Melbourne Cup high tea (yes I know, I am extremely late with this one! Therefore please check the venue’s instagram page to avoid disappointment).

Nice and chilled cafe around box hill, jus under the Chen hotel, loads of food options, the match sponge cake however is a bit too dry I would say, otherwise it’s a nice dessert!

I’ve been wanting to try out Whitehorse Chloe for a while now, and I finally had the chance to do so recently. I ordered Earl Grey tea, which was presented along with three miniature hourglasses that counted down from 1 minute, 3 minutes and 5 minutes respectively. The tea itself was aromatic and looked aesthetically pleasing in its cup. I also ordered a Shin Chicken Burger, which was tasty and filling. The price is also quite reasonable for the amount of ingredients in it. However, there wasn’t anything too unique about this dish.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the interior of the café is very aesthetic, but much smaller than I had expected when I saw it from the outside.

Lovely brunch here a couple of days ago. The service was fast, polite and friendly. I really loved the interior design with the marble tables, light filled rooms and modern decor. The soy flat white ordered wasn’t very bitter, which I love. The shin chicken burger had a spicy flavour to it & my partner really enjoyed it. The smoking croissant I ordered was sweet, salty and smoky all at the same time. It was very different but it all worked well together. If Macca’s and Nando’s chips had a baby, they would be the fries I ate here which I enjoyed.
Bear Noms
We’ve been wanting to try the cafe for some time but was slightly underwhelmed. We got the fried chicken burger which was tasty but would’ve been better if it came with some salad or fries on the side. We also had the kim chi ramen which tasted healthy but didn’t have a kick to it.
Mini Mooi
Friendly staff and good service and nice atmosphere. The cafe looks bigger from outside but inside was cosy. There were few people having a drink after work. I had skinny flat white and it was good.I love to coming back for meal.

I’ve been seeing Whitehorse Chloe all over my Instagram feed ever since they opened and I was excited to try them!

I ordered their sesame seed panna cotta, lap cheong scotch egg and lobster roll.

The sesame seed panna cotta was plated so beautifully and it was so light! It is definitely worth a try if you’re feeling like something a little bit sweet to share with some friends.

I was really excited to try the lap cheong scotch egg. It was really crispy on the outside! However I was slightly disappointed at the lack of that really distinct lap cheong flavour. But overall it was still a solid scotch egg dish.

They were generous with their lobster filling in the matcha bun, however I felt like it was just missing something to add more dimension to the roll.

Tried too hard and missed the mark. we ordered a soy latte, smoking croissant benedict and just scramble eggs on toast. The positives are the scramble eggs on toast, presentations of the meals and whereever they got their croissant from the quality is good. Unfortunately the components which calls for a good benedict are just not there, nice try with the apple vanilla hollandaise but it just doesnt work, the flavor is off balance and added the chutney just making the whole thing overpowered with sweetness and sourness, couldnt taste the pastrami when eaten together. And the worse of all, my poach eggs which are the star components of a benedict imho, is completely overcooked, one is soft boiled the other is borderline hard. When the waitress asked how our meals were, i told her the truth and she just say ‘oh yeah the eggs’ and that was it. I dont understand why ask for feedback if they arent going to offer something to correct course if its not right , no offer for a replacement or discount so i dont know whats the point of asking. Coffee is very average, not bad, not great. Wont be back again, for $40 i think thats a fail.

From the team behind Hash Coffee, comes another stunning venue – Whitehorse Chloe. Located at the ground floor of The Chen (The Art’s Series new boutique hotel), Whitehorse Chloe impresses with an Asian-inspired brunch menu that really sets it apart from the standard brunch offerings in Box Hill.
2wo Fat Girls
It’s refreshing to find the number of new Asian fusion brunch cafes that are popping up today, and Box Hill is definitely one perfect suburb to target – the heart of China in Melbourne, mixed with an interest in exploring different aspects of Melbourne culinary culture. Whitehorse Chloe turns itself from a brunch during the day, into a steak and seafood house at night, with a lovely view overlooking the busy Whitehorse Road featuring floor to ceiling windows!

went to white horse chloe for the first time tonight, can’t believe i hadn’t already gone! absolutely loved the decor and walls , really beautifully presented cafe/restaurant!

staff were very welcoming and friendly and enjoyed a conversation! The staff were helpful in ensuring the food i was getting was gluten free and explained the dish well!

tonight for dinner i had the fish of the day which was barramundi! it was beautifully presented with pomme rosti, eggplant purée and olive oil powder! loved the food and the interesting flavours it had!

would come back again to try their brunch menu :)

Not bad experience for seating down for lunch. I love the table style and golden folk matching with the whole decoration. Friendly service and quickly for food and coffee delivered.

I don't know why I order ramen and why they put that in the menu. Photos here all look nice but the food quality is nah -- u can't find other ramen place worse than this. $17 for ramen well spent son.

I’ve been here twice. There was a long wait in the morning! for my breakfast so I was a little suss but then the food came out and everything melted away. The menu has a variety of interesting choices perfect for the Instagram feed and even more appetising to the taste.

I love Whitehorse Chloe! Been here twice already, both times after night shifts at the nearby hospital, awkwardly sitting in the corner looking dishevelled in scrubs. Despite the bedraggled appearance still received gold ⭐️ treatment from the lovely people of WH Chloe, and amazing chai and hot chocolates, and delicious fare!
Have tried the waffles, croquettes, congee at different occasions and love them all! Very smart Asian inspired brunch and if you ever had a hankering for some high level delicious congee this is the place for you! :’)

Will definitely be back!

Dropped in here one afternoon with the intention of ordering the black sesame pannacotta that I’d been drooling over on IG. The staff were more than happy to make one up for me as I was too early to order this ‘dinner menu’ item. Although it was missing some elements and didn’t look quite as appealing, I did enjoy what I got. The pannacotta had just the right amount of wobble and wasn’t an overly sweet dish.. Coffee was strong and hot. Nice ambience about the place! I’ll be back!

Such a lovely little restaurant off Whitehorse Road. We did not have to wait long for a great (and def insta-worthy) meal - we had the pork hock and smoked king salmon croquette. Will be a regular here!

The interior design of this place is beautiful. Coffee was delicious. My partner ordered the chicken burger which he said was average but the mayonnaise was yummy. I ordered the lobster roll burger. Couldn't really taste the matcha in the bun but the colours were beautiful. However, I got food poisoning 2 hours later with bad cold sweats and vomitting, didnt eat anything else that day apart from the lobster burger.

Nice place to stay a while and chat with friends in boxhill, passed by many times, and tried once few month ago, food is not bad but can be better.

Situated at the ground level of The Chen, Whitehorse Chloe is a welcome modern café addition to Box Hill.

The menu is modern with Asian mashups like Lap Cheong (Chinese sausage) Scotch Egg.

I felt like a light breakfast, so opted for the Breakfast Board – nothing too special about it, but the egg is cooked nicely so there’s soft yolk.

The toastie soldiers have Vegemite on them, so it’s a bit weird to use them to dip into the yolk.

The King Salmon Croquette is beautifully presented, and the large croquettes have a crispy coating. The salmon inside is expectedly flaky with a nice smokey flavour.

Coffees are well made with a good microfoam and strong, slightly bitter flavour.

Had brunch today and it was actually good. Good coffee and food was delicious. My brekky board was nice but less vegemite should be put on the toast. The espresso bacon jam was special! Will come back to try other dishes and I heard their dinner is pretty good too

Saw this place when I drive pass Whitehorse Road, so decide to pop in for a coffee and small bite before dinner. Coffees were average. Ordered Umami chips (was expecting seasoned chips), but it comes out just normal unseasoned fries with a bit of sriracha mayo on the side. Maybe they are popular with other foods, but not for me to go second try.

Coffee is average food is awful
worst Benedict ever you just could not believe that such a safe choice can go wrong
waffle is unbearable and we have to go for a second lunch

I was excited to check out the relatively new Whitehorse Chloe. Located in Box Hill, it’s a gorgeous light filled space on two levels. The interior is absolutely beautiful, all white & minimalist styling. I loved the marble & all the greenery.

The menu has a strong Asian influence as you’d expect in its location & plenty of really creative dishes to try.

We ordered Chloe’s Ramen, Black Sesame Pannacotta, Smoked King Salmon Croquette & the Organic Coconut Yoghurt Custard.

The ramen was absolutely delicious, the pressed pork belly was tender & just fell apart. The pork broth was well flavoured as were the mushrooms and additions to the dish.

The croquette was presented beautifully and all the elements worked really well together.

I loved the flavours and presentation of the black sesame pannacotta & it was nice to try a different style of pannacotta that I hadn’t seen before.

The coconut yoghurt was also a stunning dish, lots of fresh fruit & a nice light dish.

We also had smoothies which had such a tropical feel that I temporarily forgot it was winter.

A really beautiful venue to visit, with some unique & creative dishes, thanks so much for having us.

Decided to try Whitehorse Chloe on a whim. Had The Chen, and the Smoked King Salmon Croquette. Also ordered a latte and a cold brew. Actually really liked the way they served the cold brew, in a contraption where the melting ice would not dilute the actual coffee. Really smart. Latte wasn’t too bad either. The salmon croquettes were decent, although I would have wished for a bit of carb on the plate, a piece of sourdough, perhaps. The Chen, being some sort of soba dish with tea smoked duck, was okay, although I felt it could perhaps be executed a bit better. There was too much clash of flavours in the bowl, but I did enjoy the duck.

Will return again and try the other offerings, and perhaps give a higher rating!

3.5

We came into Whitehorse Chloe on the weekend which is inside The Chen in Box hill. Upon entering we were very impressed at the beautiful modern interior , the café was spacious and had heaps of open sunlight , it made you feel like you are in a very luxe setting .

We ordered the Chloe’s breakfast ramen, scotch egg , black sesame panacotta and lastly the lobster burger . The breakfast ramen had good flavour and was mostly enhanced by the kimchi, the 62 degree egg was perfect an once broken added dept to the broth. The noodles were firm which is my preference and the pork belly extremely tender .

The scotch egg was presented beautifully, the yolk was still runny inside and the outer mince was unique in flavour. I could taste the lap cheong ( Chinese salami) but found it a little conflicting with the smoked carrot and Brussel sprouts

The lobster burger in the matcha bun had nice flavour and we really liked the asian slaw with the lobster meat. We could not taste the matcha in the bun but it was striking to look at . The lime was a great addition to the dish as the acidity cut through all the creaminess

The black sesame pancetta was silky but very subtle, we really loved the chocolate ganache which paired nicely with the other elements. This dish was one of our favourites out of everything we ordered

Overall we had a lovely brunch at this newly opened café

Thankyou for having us !

> Mashed avocado with shaved green tomato, mashed avocado, cashew cream, edamame, nasturtium, buckwheat and chia toast and a poached egg <

An interesting twist on a typical smashed avo. This dish is quite refreshing and very filling. The avocado was quite smooth and was nice and thickly spread across this healthy and quite delicious buckwheat and chia toast. The cashew cream adds a mousey texture to the meal and complements the flavours nicely. The edamame was a fun addition and provided the dish with something a little different and interesting which I really enjoyed. This place is in a bit of an awkward position, however, I do recommend putting this avo dish on your place to go!
T

> Spicy chicken burger with shin ramen spiced chicken thigh, siracha mayonnaise, avocado, bacon, tomato, milk bun and coleslaw <

This chicken burger, omg, I cannot tell you how mouth watering it was. With a sweet bun and the spicy chicken, I was in heaven. The slaw and salad items made the burger quite refreshing and added to the overall flavour combination. This is another dish that I really enjoyed and would suggest trying this one!

> Smoking croissant benedict with house made pork belly pastrami, poached eggs, apple vanilla hollandaise and sweet and sour peppers <

How amazing does this benedict look?! With the vibrant green apple hollandaise sauce and a smoke lid on top, you could not find a better looking dish. As amazing as it looks, the flavours were even better! The pork belly was really tender and the flavour was quite rich and smoky. The poached eggs popped over the croissant melted into everything and really topped the dish off perfectly. Another flawless dish from WhiteHorse Chloe that I couldn’t recommend enough.

Located in The Chen. This little cafe has it all and I will be coming back. We had the lobster burger and tasty chicken burger. We loved the look of both of them so my wife and I had to share. Lattes were fantastic too!

Coffee is pretty good. The food was not the best. I got the Chloe omelette and it tasted like flour. Place has very nice decor and service is also very good.

The newly established hotel Cafe has some delicious ingredients in the croissant and burger.
It is Asian style meat but you must try here.
Worth driving to find out.
Beautiful latte art and mild coffee. However milk was too bubbly.
Total score 🌟 4.5 to me.
Good Food Good Mood
I love a good high tea so I was excited to be invited along to check out newly opened
Whitehorse Chloe. They serve standard brunch fare until 3pm and then it rolls over into high tea daily. Located in The Chen which is the brand new stunning hotel by one of my favourite hotel groups, it’s an elegant space and felt open and airy.

I had a chai with the high tea but they have champagne or cocktail options. The selection changes daily but on this occasion it was a tuna and avocado sandwich and a salmon croquette (which features as part of a dish on the brunch menu). The sandwich was dry which was disappointing given high tea service had only just commenced.

There were also a couple of prawns on there, it was hard to know what was what as unlike standard practice with high tea the tier was not explained upon arrival and given it changes daily was not listed on a menu either. This took away from the experience of high tea in my opinion as you do enjoy being taken on the taste journey with a little explanation prior to indulging. Service was certainly friendly but lacking professionalism in this area.

The tier was very well presented in a fancy birdcage but I was disappointed to see only one scone. Usually I expect two (generally one plain and one fruit, this was just one plain) and the solitary scone was short of spectacular.

The top tier was dessert which comprised of a macaron (quite sweet) and what I assume was a matcha friand as it was green but I didn’t really detect the flavour of green tea or any real flavour at all. For me the best thing was definitely the light mousse style dome cake which had a lovely airy texture.

I did catch sight of someone else’s tier on the way out which features what looked like an eclair on there which wasn’t on mine. As a real high tea connoisseur I do expect consistency and overall found this quite forgettable

Box Hill is going through somewhat of a metamorphosis and this place is a promising sign that change is moving in the right direction.

First and foremost, I’m pleased to say they know how to make a good quality coffee, which I think is essential for any cafes success and longevity. It’s been a long time coming in Box Hill, with nearby Second Wife Cafe also offering decent coffee).

Both of the lunch dishes I’ve had so far (mashed avo and pork croissant) have been very tasty and consist of good quality ingredients. The flavours are unique - I think there’s some clever brains behind this food.

The light and modern space feels very international-hotel-like and the indoor bamboo is a nice touch. There’s some cool artwork around too.

Staff are pleasant, efficient and professional.

Overall a great experience 👍

Ps if coming by car, you’ll probably need to pay for parking, especially during the week. Parking in the shopping centre is only $1 (for up to 3 hrs).

A new and very welcome addition to the Box Hill food scene. Whitehorse Chloe is decorated beautifully and the food and coffee is wonderful. The staff are very nice and welcoming and attentive. As far as price is concerned, it is on par with other cafes at this level. The menu has some really interesting items. The coffee is very nice and smooth. The lobster roll is delicious. Well worth a visit and I will be back here for sure to go through the menu.

Beautifully elegant and modern space. Lots of light creates gives it a bright sunny brunch feel. Ordered the smoked king salmon croquette which had lovely presentation. The food was well balanced and had great, complementary flavours. Will be back to try the sesame panna cotta!

We came here for brunch on Saturday afternoon. We are in love with the vibes here ! This cafe is so cute and relaxing. We started with 3 drinks, matcha latte, Mango Tango and White Horse. They are on point! My fav is White Horse. Then we ordered 3 dishes :
- Sesame seed panna cotta
- Smoked King Salmon Croquette (served with actual smoke! So fancy!)
- Smoking croissant benedict

They were all delicious!

best brunch spot in boxhill
strongly recommended :)
exceptionally nice atmosphere and food presentations are so great!
i hope i can comeback well soon..

Checked out this new cafe in Box Hill with C. I am very impressed with the deco. White but not those ridiculous "minimalist" splash some white paint on the wall deco. Where we sat we were looking at a wall with a very nice gold copper toned horse painting.
Got a seat straightaway, service was very quick as well. Coffee was aromatic and smooth. And as soon as I finished taking photos of the coffees, our food arrived.
C ordered Smoked King Salmon Croquette with dashi egg pop, asparagus, poached egg, furikake avocado, soy shiitake relish, enoki floss, sweet corn salsa and prawn aioli. It's very good overall, lots of small elements to the dish. Croquettes could be a little crispier, had fun with the dashi egg pop.
I had the Smoking Croissant Benedict with house made pork belly pastrami, poached eggs, apple vanilla hollandaise and sweet and sour peppers. Again, flavours were spot on! I am not normally a big fan of benedict because of the heavy hollandaise sauce. Like C said, this version was not that heavy (still was to me). Pork belly was cooked well, and the peppers definitely helped balanced the dish out.
Ordered another takeaway coffee too cos the coffee was so good! Portions were deceiving by the way, very valued for money, we could barely finish our food. Great work team, we look forward to coming back and try out your other dishes!

Newly opened top brunch spot in the Box Hill area. Serving creative, Asian fusion dishes from the menu. Apparently it opens for dinner as well.

I love the large, two level, sunny dining environment with simple and minimalist style decoration. Don’t even mention the beautiful white horse graffiti on the wall, stunning!

#Chloe’s ramen#-pork belly, kimchi, mushroom,62 degree egg served with pork broth and noodle. The Ramen was different from the Japanese ramen, the pork broth was lighter but taste good as well. Pork meat was very tender, the noodle tasted more like soba noodle. It was a good dish to have but not “wow” enough.

#The Chan#-tea smoked duck breast served in cold tomato ponzu broth, soba noodle and Asia coleslaw. When you bite into the duck breast, you can definitely notice the strong smoky flavours which was really nice. The cold broth was refreshing, citrusy, well balanced of sweet and tanginess. Even though it was a cold dish, but I would still recommend it.

#chicken burger#-shin ramen spiced chicken served with avocado, tomato, sriracha mayo. They used simple ingredients but made it into a great burger. The bun was soft and fluffy, chicken thigh meat was really tender and juicy! It kept dripping juice on to the plate. If they seasoned the chicken with little more salt, the burger would be really great! Recommend.

Overall, Whitehorse Chloe provided customers with good quality of food+coffee and innovative menu. If you are looking for good brunch spot in Box Hill area, don’t miss Whitehorse Chloe.

Whitehorse Chloe is a brand new, and much needed addition to the Asian-dominated food scene in Box Hill. The cleverly balanced Asian touches to traditional brunch fare definitely makes this a unique food destination.

Coupled with more than generous portions that are not only Insta-worthy but also tastes the part, it’s definitely worth stopping by when you are in the area!

Was so excited to try this new cafe that opened not long ago and it did not let me down! Not only was the interior really stunning ( marble tables and huge glass windows) but the variety of dishes that I had were so flavourful and presented so beautifully. If I had to recommended one dish, it would have to be the smoked benedict croissant which is seriously one of the best brunch dishes that I’ve ever had 😍😍

Cool new cafe/restaurant at the bottom of the Chen Hotel. We have only been for coffee (almost daily now) and it’s hands down some of the best coffee in Melbourne. Excited to try dinner here soon!

I recently discovered this cafe, which really intrigued me! After looking at the amazing food on their Instagram, I knew I needed to pay a visit.

My first impression was that the cafe had incredible natural lighting. I loved how big and wild the windows were, however I was sooooo hot sitting trying to enjoy my meal. I adore the stunning picture of the horse on the wall, which was perfect for the gram!

The food here was pretty and filling! My favourite dish was the duck ramen and the Black sesame panna cotta! I also thought that the way the cold brew was presented was so clever and by far the best cold brew I’ve had in a while. The ice was seperate from the coffee, which allowed the coffee to still be cold but wasn’t watered down by the ice.

In terms of parking, there is plenty as this cafe is soo close to the Whitehorse shopping centre.

I’m excited to come again! I have my eye out on the smoothie selections!
After hearing that this new local cafe offers high tea, I booked a large group for my birthday. I booked a week in advance and advised of a couple of dietary requirements (gluten free and vegetarian) at the time so they had plenty of notice. The seating is from 3pm to 5pm and we all arrived fairly promptly. After we were all seated they then advised that they couldn’t do gluten free despite the advance notice. They then came around and took orders for some reason despite the menu being set. The food then didn’t come out until past 4pm...and it wasn’t worth the wait at all. The sandwiches were stale and one of the wait staff had his hands on one as it was brought out. The menu was all generally a let down. For $39 per head this is the worst value for money - half a stale sandwich, a macaroon and couple of bites of not very impressive cake...if you want a real high tea, spring for a proper one at one of the CBD hotels. Staff were friendly enough but seemed confused about high tea. Perhaps their a la carte menu is better but this experience is enough to put me off from trying.

A light bright two level venue built within
The Chen Hotel building in Box Hill, Whitehorse Chloe is just celebrating its first month of opening when we were invited along to sample their menu. Elegant styles, bamboo and greenery and plenty of marble. Even the cutlery was Impressive. The venue cleverly makes use of the limited space giving it a large open plan atrium feel.

The exciting menu had a variety of interesting dishes available with a lot of Asian influence including hot and cold ramen and looking around, every dish being served looked gorgeous which made it very hard to choose.

We started with the house blend chai latte, which was spicy and packed a nice amount of heat, the Mork hot chocolate was rich and Lux as ice come to expect from the milk dark Mork blend. We also had the Whitehorse smoothie which was a lovely blend of pineapple, banana, lime, mint and coconut milk, refreshing yet it had a subtle coconut flavour that also shone through.

We ordered the Smoked King Salmon Croquettes, these delightful croquettes took on the smokiness from the salmon (as it had been blended through) paired with the prawn aioli was a great combination, especially with the delightful crunch on the outside of the croquette. I loved them with avocado and charred corn salsa that accompanied it, it brought some fresh zing to the plate, and broke up the smoked seafood flavour.

We also had the Smoking Croissant Benedict, when the glass cloche was lifted the most gorgeous smokey aroma floated out. This benedict was something special with a apple vanilla hollandaise giving us green eggs and pork. The eggs were well poached and overall we really enjoyed this dish.

Great to have a new local cafe so close to home. Thanks so much for having us.

It was our first time there and boy was it one to remember! The decor and ambience of the cafe was bright and inviting just like the food they served:

Smoothies - we had ordered the white horse smoothie (mixture of banana, pineapple, coconut milk and yoghurt) and mango tango (mixture of mango and other various fruits) both of which were thick and rich in flavor.

Eggs Benedict - a nice piece of pork belly, 2 poached eggs and apple hollandaise sauce stuffed in a open croissant! Need I say more? 😍

Salmon Croquettes - this was an interesting one as it had many elements to the plate such as a piece of avacado, pieces of mushrooms, steamed veggies and an egg on stick. Though unconventional, it went surprisingly well together! 👍

Overall, it was a pleasant experience and I would go back for more! 😇

April 2019 update: have been back a couple more times and while the dishes are still a bit hit and miss for me my favourite to date has to be their Salmon Croquettes - gorgeous and a great combination of bold flavours and textures.

Have been super impressed with this new cafe so far - so much so that I’ve been 3 times since it opened! The interior is absolutely gorgeous and everything on the menu looks and sounds amazing.

So far I’ve had the breakfast board ($17) which reminded me how great vegemite & toasted soldiers are, the smoking croissant benedict ($20) - super impressive presentation but quite heavy and could be better balanced, and the sesame seed panna cotta ($15) - again a stunningly gorgeous dish but not all the elements married up together.

Given that each of the dishes I’ve tried had some element that didn’t hit the spot for me, I think that the menu items could be refined and improved upon, however I still really adore the vibe of the cafe and will continue to go back for sure.

Really great food! Quick service. Chai is a little too spicy for me, food was so good I just need a little more on the plate. Had the smoking croissant & had a wonderful Theatrical presentation.

Beautiful two-storeys cafe that serves Asian inspired breakfast and lunch. The interior is stunning with a lot of natural light and modern furniture. Coffee is good but the food needs improvement as they are quite bland, especially the cold soba. Pram friendly as they have few tables at ground floor.

Very good food and service experience. We ordered a lobster bun and salmon croquette. The salmon croquette is pretty yummy, and lobster is good as well. Coffee is not bad and matcha latte is good.
Finally box hill gets a good cafe with good and pretty food and nice ambience!
