Review T17 Pizzaria - Box Hill

Edited my high review: Something has definitely changed. Went again recently after 2.5 years. The pizzas prior were worth a travel and a top recommendation to friends. Sadly it wasn't the same. Maybe they changed the pizza maker? Ate pizza at 48hr less than a week ago. It's night and day. Still a better option out there for a local out pizza joint in the burbs. Pictured is the antipasto: Menu said cheeses "plural" but its one ball of cheese chopped in slices. That's fried dough taking up half the tray and I swear that was woolworths ham and prosciutto.

Had a takeaway pizza based on recommendation from my sister who loves this place, but it was just not to my liking. Not much toppings, and so much crust left on the side with no sauce/toppings. Not a fan of the pizza base either. To top it off, price is quite high for how little I got. Mind you, this is just my personal subjective but honest opinion. I can see that lots of people like it, so each to their own. 🤷

Pizzas are delicious. Love the thin crust. Even my 3yo is able to eat it without too much effort. Very happy to find this local gem without travel to Lygon St. Highly recommended.

Great neighborhood restaurant to hang out. Like the thin crust pizza and the calamari.

Beautiful pizzas and lovely staff. The pizzas are authentic, with great flavour in the toppings and crispy base. We wanted to try everything but barely finished 1 pizza between 2 because of the size! Calamari and Parmesan chips hit the table next to us and looked great! We visited on a Friday night not realising how small + cosy the restaurant is but we managed to snag a table for 2. So definitely book ahead! Look forward to coming back to try the rest of the menu!

Such an amazing experience having very authentic Italian pizza in Melbourne, Velario is an amazing guy, he is so friendly and suggested pizza to all of us. Food was so delicious, staff are pretty cool in a cozy resturant. They've notice it is my wife birthday and gave us a complimentary delicious desert with a candle on that, turned of the lights and sang happy birthday which I highly appreciate that.
Must be Hungry
This brightly lit venue will be the first thing that catches your eye. It wasn't very busy when we went (probably because it was close to close time) so we have the perfect chance to relax. We ordered the Prosciutto and 'The Lot'. The Prosciutto was recommended, so we had to try it. The Fior Di Latte and the Prosciutto combo was great, it made us go for more but hey, we had to share - it just wasn't enough for three boys. The Lot is more of something that we get when we try new pizza places. A lot of places do 'the lot' pretty good and this has got to be one of them. I'd recommend giving this place a go if you're in the neighbourhood. And the Prosciutto Pizza is a recommendation that you can't go wrong with. P.S, you have to eat your Pizza fast otherwise the sauce oozes out too quickly and it becomes soggy.

A must visit! A long day travelling across the state, I was hungry for pizza and tonight I was in for a treat at T17 Pizza in Box Hill. Located in the back streets, T17 is well worth getting out Google Maps and hunting down to find what you may think can only be found in Lygon Street. I'm jealous of the neighbours who can drop in here anytime. The decor has been well thought out - modern, clean and inviting with seating for a maximum of 40 + a few tables outside and this alone makes for a good start to dining here. The menu is extensive with something for everyone. There is also a selection of food that caters for people with dietary requirements which these days are common. Another bonus - the kids pizzas are the perfect size and at $10, excellent value for money. But what to eat? My son started with the parmessan french fries which really are the best 'chips' you could find. Nicely seasoned with salt and a sprinkling of grated parmesan, these 'chips' were enough to curb our hunger before the main course. My son ordered the soppressa pizza that had the right amount of salami, olives and provolone under a delicate layer of pesto and amore fior di latte. 12" of light pizza base that is cooked for the perfect time so the crust is slightly crunchy but the base is soft and delicious. I ordered the roast pumpkin pizza which for me is the way pizza should be made. Miniminal toppings. Maximum taste. Rocket covering mascarpone, pinenuts and pumpkin with of course the amore fior di latte. When you cook with the best ingredients, the difference between good and amazing is noticeable. Well done. Thank you to Jim for inviting me to T17 and to the pizza chef from heaven. Grazie per aver condiviso il cibo e la meravigliosa ospitalita. I look forward to coming back again and putting your tiramasu to the test. Notes: Good parking out the front but check the times on the signs. Wheelchair accessible. Kid friendly.

Went here tonight with my mother and eight month old son after seeing it advertised in my facebook feed. Family friendly with a high chair, excellent calamari starter and a wonderful pizza base. Toppings were nice and of decent quality. Could of done with a touch of seasoning. We will certainly return. Good to know they are BYO for the future also.

Best pizza in Melbourne.

One word to describe the pizzas here: exceptional.

In my opinion, it’s the best pizza restaurant in Melbourne and for good reason too. The pizzas here are authentic, made expertly with much care and quality ingredients, resulting in a product that is bloody delicious . T17’s pizza game is head and shoulders above the rest. When it comes to taste, authentic Italian food and quality, they deliver in spades. It’s fully legit and not just about hype like some places.

The T17 special is my wife and my favourite, prosciutto and a decadent truffle flavour that will leave you hungry for more. Lamb shoulder and the lot are damned delicious too. Their 2 veggie options are great also - my vegetarian grandpa and grandma both loved them when they were in town from overseas and couldn’t stop mentioning how good it tasted.

You can’t go wrong with ordering out from here during the Coronavirus or dining in after when we all are allowed out of lockdown. Honestly, there is no pizza place close by or in Melbourne’s East that can even compare to these quality pies.

The owner and staff are top blokes - very friendly, welcoming and down to earth. This place makes you feel at home, has a good ambiance and the food is outstanding.

I would highly recommend them to anyone who loves good food. If in doubt, do give their pizzas a go and you definitely won’t be disappointed.

Guys here doing good work. They know what they're doing. The flour of the pizza is perfect and very soft. We had the SOPRESSO (chef favourite) & T17 SPECIAL (their version of Zero95s Salina) for takeaway. They were giving away toilet paper too, to people that need it. Good blokes 💯🇮🇹

If dining in please read my previous review below as our previous dining in experience was far better that our Uber eats experience.

We Uber Ate a Neapolitan Pizza from T17 pizza and this was super tasty and had plenty of those anchovy’s we both love it. The base was springy and had a lovey crust that you actually would want to eat. Unfortunately it was also almost completely cold when it was delivered. I can only assume the uber driver arrived to the restaurant late and it had been sitting for some time or that he didn’t protect the pizza from the cool evening air. Possibly something the restaurant has little control over but it might pay to dine in or pick up yourself.

Good pizza... bad Uber eats experience

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Previous Review
5
I’ve spent nearly 5 years in the box hill area and have tried many pizza places within a radius of home. There are a few good ones in a sea of bad ones and I discovered another of the good ones tonight when I was invited in to try the pizzas at T17 in Box Hill North. That dough is comparable to many of the big names in Brunswick and Carlton and they had some very good flavour combinations.
Pizzas are cooked at 420 degrees Celsius for the shortest of time. Tonight we ordered four pizzas and a gnocchi. The margherita tomato base basil which generously sized on thin spongy bubbly bases with the perfect chew.
The prawn pizza with lovely large Tiger Prawns and a great amount of heat from the chilli oil, which was balanced out with the roquette, perfect with the tomato and cheese
The Lamb shoulder, 14 hour slow cooked lamb shoulder, potatoes, fior de latte & minted yoghurt. This one was one we almost didn’t order due to debate within the group as to whether lamb would be tough if cooked on a pizza. We needn’t have worried it was tender and delicious and really should be on every carnivores order.
Our last pizza was Prosciutto fresh buffalo mozzarella fresh basil, this was simply the definition of fresh. Delicious torn buffalo mozzarella, and large basil leaves on soft pink prosciutto.
We had the gnocchi sorrentina, made with potato gnocchi these can only be described as little pillows of heaven. We shared this between 4, it was a big mistake, this was so good. If you are lucky enough for it to be on the specials menu order one just for yourself.
We all were gobsmacked by the share size of the Nutella Calzone for dessert. It was one of the largest I have ever seen and very reasonably priced. Visually this was stunning because of the Nutella sauce over the top as well as inside. Served hot and melty and such a good version of this dish.
The best pizza in Melbourne, without question. Highly recommend their Wild Mushroom Pizza. Absolutely phenomenal. The base and dough is what takes this place far beyond any other place. This is a must try for any pizza lover! The gnocchi is also amazing, and the arancini balls are out of this world. This place cannot make anything wrong. The best!
Pizza overdone on the chilli, and also soggy. lasagne probably authentic, but required separate side salad! Unfriendly service (seemed to be under-staffed). They lost our table booking. Don't think we'll be going back.
By far the best pizza my wife and i have ever eaten. Hats off to one and all at T17, The restaurant was extremely clean, modern in appearance and the hospitality was great, the Truffle Pizza was just out of this world. Located off the beat and track in Box Hill, this place is a hidden Gem, if your a Pizza lover you need to give this place a go, you won't be disappointed.
Keep up the great work guys.
Had a craving for pizza, went to this little gem, ordered the meat lovers and pork sausage and a large serve of calamari. Calamari was soft and not chewy, delicious, pizza was delicious, nice crust, base was not soggy, toppings were fresh and flavoursome, only downside is the pizza needed more pork sausage. Service was excellent.
Mad Dawg
T17 is a restaurant hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Box Hill central. Ordered the calamari which paired well with aioli. My only gripe would be the excessive seasoning of salt. The meat lovers pizza was delicious with fresh toppings and a flavoursome base.
Located in the quiet suburban Box Hill North, T17 has been on our to-do list for a while and we are glad to have finally made it.Made from scratch by authentic Italian pizza chefs, you’re sure to find tasty Italian pizzas here that are bound to remind you of your summer vacation in Italy.
Hello. Imnikki
Pizza is not the first thing that comes into mind when I think about eating out at Box Hill, but T17 has definitely changed my mind about this. With an emphasis on delivering maximum freshness and top quality to customers, T17 is committed to ensuring that only the best is served to their customers.
The first thing that caught our eye was the Carbonara Pizza. With guanciale, pecorino cheese, egg, fior di latte and cracked pepper, this was an absolute delight to eat. The rich creamy factor that one would associate with a carbonara dish was evident here, and the pizza base was incredibly light, thin and had a slight crisped to it. The deep savoury flavour of the guanciale and the slight nutty taste of the pecorino cheese elevated this pizza to another level.
The refreshing and light Caprese Salad was also a hit. Fresh juicy tomatoes and pesto lent a bright and clean flavour, one which perfectly complement the soft and milky buffalo mozzarella. The flavours of the Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina were just as impressive, and the subtle sweetness of the fresh tomatoes really shone through.
We had the shock of our life when the Nutella Calzone arrived. It was massive! My friend and I were doubtful we could finish this but low and behold, this calzone was demolished in no time. The rich hazelnutty goodness of Nutella, combined with pillowy soft and light pastry was both a flavour and textural delight.
For those with dietary requirements, T17 serves gluten-free pizzas too, and vegan and low fat options are also available. There’s without a doubt something for everyone here. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
Yum!!! Had been wanting to try for a while and was not disappointed. Cute little space catered to the locals and deliveries always running out the door. Run by Italians it seems so super authentic food. Best calamari I’ve ever had, so tender and light. Carbonara pizza is an innovation, already a fiend for the pasta sauce so why not incorporate the two?! Delicious, thanks t17 💖
A venture out to Box Hill to find a little pizza shop. A great pizza joint with some unique pizza flavours a first so me to try one with Broccoli.**Disclaimer: although the restaurant has generously invited me to their restaurant this review is still based on my genuine opinion.
A back street of Box Hill is not where you’d expect to find the perfect slice of Italy. Open since 2016, T17 has a simple focus: to create delicious authentic Napoli-style pizza. From the moment it opens at 5pm, locals stream in to collect take-away with their favourite toppings, while knowing chefs dust the peel and knead the dough, and the owner Jim chats enthusiastically to his regulars. The space is modern, typically Melbourne, ambient with pop covers in soft American accents and features colourful graffiti art by the entrance.
WOAH! This restaurant defiantly had us reminiscing about our time spent in Italy. The true authentic feel and flavour was brought out with every dish. And what truly topped it off was the very friendly service from not only the owner Jim, but also the waitress that ensured we were looked after the whole time. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for true Italian style woodfire pizza in the Eastern Suburb area. Now when selecting the pizza of your choice, I can tell you this... you WON'T be disappointed! For starters we had the mouth watering salt & pepper calamari and the very earthy Mushroom Arancini. Which were great starters to begin the 'trip' through Italy to the show stoppers, that are known as Pizza. We selected one from the specials "Agnello", then from the pizza section "Royal vegetarian" and also "Pork Sausage".
Good Food Good Mood
We were invited to T17 tonight and experienced some really authentic pizza using the highest caliber ingredients. The lamb shoulder pizza was my favourite and quite a unique combination that offers something a bit different. You can tell the lamb has been slow cooked as it was super succulent and it paired wonderfully with the yoghurt and potato. This is a must order.
We finished on a sugar high with the generously proportioned Nutella calzone. Served with some yummy vanilla ice cream to cut through the decadence, one between two or three is the perfect size. The things the chef can do with dough, I just can’t recommend this dish enough
Original review
We were delighted to be invited to T17 tonight for some exceptional pizza and all round delicious Italian food. We thoroughly enjoyed the gnocchi special and the variety of pizzas available was impressive including some intriguing options which had a zataar or cauliflower base.
We went for a Margherita, a classic which is the true benchmark of a good pizza, a prawn with chilli and a lamb shoulder. I had to convince the skeptics at the table that lamb on a pizza was a good choice and naturally I was correct.
After all that pizza I’m so glad we saved room for dessert because the sizeable Nutella calzone was utter perfection. Generally a calzone doesn’t look overly appetising given all the decadent deliciousness is inside the dough but this one was delicately drizzled with chocolate and was not only visually appealing but absolutely heavenly on the palate.
I visited this pizza restaurant in Box Hill north in a small group of local shops.
Hungry for a pizza and unable to decide on which pizza to pick I ordered 2 small pizzas as it was too hard to choose lol.
So I ordered the T17 Pizza, which had the following ingredients, Thats amore fior di latte, san daniele prosciutto, mushrooms, home made truffle cream. OMGosh this was soo good, and the truffle cream was so tasty I could have eaten it like ice cream hahaha.
The other pizza I ordered was a Prosciutto Pizza which had San Marzano tomato, Thats amore di latte, Buffalo Mozarella, San Daniele prosciutto and fresh basil. The prosciutto was soft and full of flavour. It was excellent quality and the buffalo mozzarella was delicious.
The pizza dough is fermented up to 4 days and they don't use much yeast so the pizza base isn't heavy and although I was full, I didn’t feel bloated.
I noticed that they also make their own red wine, both shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, after I ordered my beer, so I didn’t get to taste it.
The pizza oven is electric but if I didn't know, it could have been wood fired as the pizza was that good.
With 6 vegetarian pizza options, vegan cheese and gluten free bases most people are catered for.
This place was busy w locals when I was there and the owner appeared to know everyone which was nice to see. And with a busy home delivery trade on a schoolnight this place was rocking lol
Thanks to the owner for extending an invitation for me to visit I had a really good time.
VeganeatsM Vegetarian Food Lover
I was invited to T17 to try out their food. It was clear from the outset as to why they are currently the highest ranking pizza shop in Melbourne.
This is the real stuff people! T17 serves up authentic pizzas prepared the way it should be. I had the Prosciutto gourmet pizza. This was brought to the table at lightning speed. It looked beautiful and tasted really fresh. The base was chewy (love it!) and the charred edges added flavour to the already flavoursome pizza. There was just the right amount of tomato at the base and the buffalo mozzarella was bellisimo!
It was a pizza-licious experience and I will definitely be back with the family in tow soon.
Really nice pizza in an unexpected location, unfortunately their lasagna wasn’t up to par in comparison of their pizza. Service was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely like to return here to try out more of their pizza range.
We came here to try the famous pizza and it did not disappoint ! On the day we had the special cream cheese pizza and the mushroom pizza . The dough was airy and light and we loved the fresh toppings!
You can tell that Jim and his team are passionate and really talented people when it comes to pizza, real artists! They are also so lovely and accommodated, they make the best vegan pizza in Melbourne!
Came here for lunch with a workmate and was not disappointed. We shared a Sopressa pizza (because I was still full from breakfast) and it was easily one of the best pizzas I've ever had in Melbourne. The ingredients were super fresh and I could taste the years of experience from the lovely chef. The thick crust was cooked to perfection and the little burnt bits were the bonus.
This place was quite hidden in Box Hill but definitely worth the journey. I would recommend booking a table especially if you are coming on Friday/Saturday as I heard from the owner that it usually gets quite packed. I'll definitely be coming back regularly with friends and family.
This is our local pizza place, been coming for years and it consistently turns out amazing pizzas (and Nutella calzones 😝). Great if you like Italian style thin and crispy bases. Owner is an awesome dude and always up for some banter!
Finally we have an authentic Italian pizza restaurant in Box Hill. It’s an absolute go to!
Came here for wood fire pizzas the other night. Calamari was yummy. The pizzas were nice however one pizza tasted very bitter as it was burnt.. otherwise it wasn’t not too bad.. the owner was very friendly. Wouldn’t mind to visit this place again.
We had a 10yr birthday celebration here with my Mothers group. It could have been a restaurants worst nightmare, 18 children and 15 adults!
Couldn’t have been more opposite. They were so accomodating. Making sure the hungry children were looked after first, with incredible pizzas and Parmesan fries. The gnocchi was so light and fluffy it could have floated off the pate.
Nothing was too much trouble and it was a perfect venue to mark our 10 years.
All the parents said they would return. We definitely will.
Tiramisu was THE best!
Beth’s Bites
Fantastic family restaurant, great food and service. We had a great time and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely return.
I had the amazing opportunity to attend T17 for an event and wow did they put on a (foodie heaven) show!!! We had a range of delicious and authentic Italian cuisine including antipasto, pizza, pasta, Nutella doughnut fries and a Nutella calzone. All of the dishes were made with fresh ingredients, were presented beautifully and taste even better!
The staff were lovely, catered to all dietary requirements and made sure we were all very happy. Thank you for having us!
Easily the best pizza in the local area. Friendly staff, great service and terrific management. Pizzas are perfect every single time without fail. Highly recommend!
I had an amazing time dining at T17! I experienced this place with a bunch of 20 foodies at a brunching event, and the team at T17 went above and beyond to look after us all and ensure we were eating fantastic food and having an amazing time! Their Margherita pizza was TOPS - so tasty and cheesy, with such a fresh pizza base! But my favourite was the cheesy lasagna and the golden Nutella calzone 😍. I Will definitely be coming back when I’m in the area again!
I had an amazing group experience at T17 in a large group of around 20 people. The food, service & atmosphere was all amazing! There is a massive range of pizzas, and they cater to all dietary requirements which is awesome!
The restaurant is in a small strip off shops, away from major main roads, giving it a local feel. The exterior is very inviting & the interior felt so warm. A big electric pizza oven, plenty of open space & a beautiful back area with fairy lights for a more intimate setting. I loved the graffiti wall at the back.
I just drank water during my visit, but other people were enjoying some little bottles of Prosecco.
The antipasto starters were nice, with a range of meats. Yummy fries & garlic pizza too!
The pizza was delicious! The dough was made in house & the toppings were very fresh. I’m not sure which pizzas I ate because I was too busy chatting! However, each slice was super tasty, with a slightly crispy crust & lots of toppings!
There were nutella ‘fries’ (dough) was a lovely sweet treat at the end! A very unique dish, which was crispy, soft & sweet all at the same time!
The service was incredible. The food came out quickly & the staff were so friendly. I had awesome chats with the chef, who gave me a lot of information about the pizza!
I had such an amazing time at T17 last weekend with some really good variety of pizzas and some gnocchi n lasagnes. What amazed me the most was that T17 accommodated to everyones dietary requirements...from sloppy cheese to gluten-free to vegan, we had a joy of time.
What the showstoppers were definitely the Nutella fries (yes you heard that one right) and the Nutella Calzones.
I would definitely come back here for more 💛
I attended the Brunch club 2.0 at T17 Pizza in Box Hill on the weekend and had an amazing experience. With a modern and industrial interior, I loved the aesthetics from the first foot in the door.
As someone who is Gluten free, I will admit that I was a little nervous going into it, that the options would be extremely limited for me. But the masters behind T17 Pizza proved me wrong. I was lucky enough to taste both the broccoli vegan pizza and a red based salami pizza. I can say, I have never tasted such a delicious gluten free pizza base. I would almost say I would rather it over any other kind. It was drool worthy and definitely one I will be going back for. The pizzas had amazing fresh ingredients and flavours and it was that extra detail that prohibited them from being bland and boring. The broccoli pizza was my favourite and it came with vegan cheese. Vegan MELTED cheese.
The owner and staff of T17 Pizza were more than lovely during my time there. It was a warm and welcoming environment that allowed for an amazing event and experience to take place. I walk away dreaming of pizza and looking at my diary for when I can return to experience the delicious food again
Had the pleasure of attending an event on a Saturday afternoon at T17.
We had an amazing spread of food that ranged from a large variety of the pizzas, the prosciutto option was my favourite, gnocchi, lasagna,antipasto and Nutella pizza fries.
The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating to all of the foodie needs which is exactly what you want in a good restaurant these days.
There is lots of parking outside the restaurant also..bonus!
I came to T17 Pizza for the Brunch 2.0 Event. T17 Pizza is an incredible pizza restaurant hidden in the streets of Box Hill. The venue is cute and home-y, and the staff are incredibly fun and friendly. I love that you can watch the chef throwing the pizza dough in the air behind the counter - such a fun experience!
We started off with some delicious entrees. The French fries were so crispy and incredibly addictive - we were in love! The garlic and mozzarella pizza was a great starter and the pizza base was so thin and crisp.
And the pizza is beyond exceptional! We all tried a variety and all of them were equally delicious. The base is incredibly thin, just how I like it, with a nice chew and crispness. They’ve perfected their pizza recipe, and it’s definitely some of the best I’ve tried.
Highly recommend visiting this restaurant!
I had a blast of a time at T17 pizza where the Brunch club event was hosted. The pizzas at T17 are among the best i have had in Melbourne if not the best in all my travels.🙌🙌.
The ambience of the place is very chic and perfect for a fun day out with your friends. 🤩
🤩
Their antipasto was right down perfection💯. We had fun time clicking pictures by the entrance wall which has graffiti on it, perfect for that insta shot.
👩‍🍳
Their service is spot on and what else can i say. You must go there to believe it. 😍😍😍😍
Thanks to Mindfoodsteph and Melbournejade for hosting this amazing event which has led to new friendships and more foodie fun. 😘
Love T17! Such a great location with ample parking. The team is so friendly, and most importantly the food is delicious!!
I love that they have many vegan options, including vegan pizza and Nutella. The 'cheese' on the pizza was tasty, and the dough was cooked to perfection. So yummy!
Definitely a great place to have dinner with family, or friends. Also enough space for a function too. Will definitely be back!!
Sweetoothbrunches
This Sweetooth had the pleasure of visiting for a brunch event with all other foodies. Having the place all to ourselves the staff looked after everyone's needs, which is no easy task catering for all different dietary requirements. The pizzas were classic crispy, thin crust and cheesy. Dessert well anything nutella and I'm in love so nutella calazone definitely makes me happy.
Pizza and desserts are what this sweetooth loves to eat every day. highly enjoyed my visit
I had the pleasure of eating lunch at T17 Pizza as a part of Brunch Club 2.0! What can I say? The staff were accommodating, the venue was lovely and the pizza was true Napoletano style which I absolutely love 😍 My highlight would have to be the Nutella covered donut frites 🙌 Thank you T17 for a wonderful experience, I will definitely be back ❤
Its been 7 months since we have returned from Italy and it has been our mission to find the best italian eats in Melbourne. And WE HAVE FOUND IT! They have hands down the most authentic Italian pizza we have discovered in Melbourne!
We will definetly be back!
Absolutely loved the food here today.
Tried a variety of their dishes and each were as good as the other!
If you need gluten and dairy free their pizzas in this range are absolutely amazing!
Thanks for a fab lunch!
Chris (iEnergise)
Most delicious gluten-free and dairy-free pizza on the planet!!
Great day out with friends, but more importantly great service and very accommodating to any dietary requirements.
Beautiful pizza!
I love the crust the best - so soft and thick!
The right amount of toppings as well plus not watery.
100% will be coming back for more.
We were treated to an incredible spread at T17! We were lucky enough to try their new vegan cheese & vegan Nutella which were absolutely incredible! I ordered the super vegetarian without the goats cheese replaced with the vegan cheese. It was a deliciously fresh pizza when plenty of toppings, crunchy crust & a delicious pesto base. For dessert I was treated to the vegan nutella calzone which was absolutely amazing! I’m a massive sweet tooth so it’s not a surprise I enjoyed it but the vegan Nutella was insane, highly recommend! It’s a wonderful family run business that produces delish pizza & a wonderful vibe! Can’t wait to visit again! Thanks for having us!
Very nice pizza, comfortable restaurant. Nice people from Italy. We ordered three pizza each of them were perfect! Do recommend Will come back for sure!
We adored our visit to this amazing pizza venue which serves up authentic Italian pizza! And I mean authentic! The pizza chefs are from Italy, and they sure know how to cook an authentic pizza! The T17 has to be a favourite, truffle and mushroom are a ripper combo! Then of course the classic prosciutto pizza with buffalo mozzarella from Italy was absolutely fantastic! The mozzarella is used within a month so it’s perfect! But more importantly the owner is so passionate about creating delicious pizza for everyone, and he really knows about what it takes to create good pizza! Recommend checking this place out!
Absolutely blown away with our dining experience tonight. We entered as diners and left as family (well the type of family that won’t leave haha!). Never have I met such a passionate owner than Jim, and his team were equally passionate! The food blew me away, this is seriously good Italian food that’s authentic and with only the best ingredients used. The pizza bases were crispy and full of flavour. The Gnocchi, oh my it was incredible. The wine I had was splendid and I’ll be returning for more of that! Sooooooo good, a must visit!!!
Very happy with this restaurant. Really nice Italian aesthetic and warm, welcoming staff. We started with the calamari which hit the spot. And I really enjoyed the pizza. I had the block 88 wine which was sweet and fresh. Definitely recommend this place!
The food here was nice but not outstanding. We got a garlic pizza and a cacciatore pizza, and whilst the garlic one was nice the other one was too spicy and the salami was a bit average.
My favorite pizza napoletana in Melbourne. I usually eat my favorite prosciutto pizza, as always crunchy bubble board, thin and tasty in the middle. The
high quality of prosciutto di Parma, buffalo mozzarella and fresh basil bring me back in Mergellina Napoli! I really recommend to everyone!
Amazingly fresh pizza. A good mix of traditional pizzas and some specialty flavors customized to local tastes. We come here once a week and the food somehow seems to get better and better. If you’re in the area, definitely pop in for a tasty meal.
The best margarita pizza I’ve ever had!! You must order the antipasto board, love the stuffed peppers the most 😍😍 there is such a great welcoming vibe at this modern Italian Eatery yet the food couldn’t be more authentic and delicious.
Amazing food and service!! I am Gluten free so its often hard to find great tasting pizzas! The thin crust is aweaome! Highly recommend!!! 🤗👌👌
I've heard about T17 pizza from the mums at school and have been meaning to try it for a while. It was amazing!!! the pizza's dough was light and fuffly with so much flavour. We had calamari and gnocchi to share for starters. The gnocchi melted in your mouth so delicious.
I can't believe it has taken me this long to come here i highly recommend this place i will be definitely back.
Came for dinner on a Wednesday Night. Staff and pizza maker were amazing so polite, attentive and professional. The foods next level and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to find a hidden gem inside Box Hill! 👌
This brightly lit venue will be the first thing that catches your eye. It wasn't very busy when we went (probably because it was close to close time) so we have the perfect chance to relax.
We ordered the Prosciutto and 'The Lot'.
The Prosciutto was recommended, so we had to try it. The Fior Di Latte and the Prosciutto combo was great, it made us go for more but hey, we had to share - it just wasn't enough for three boys.
The Lot is more of something that we get when we try new pizza places. A lot of places do 'the lot' pretty good and this has got to be one of them.
I'd recommend giving this place a go if you're in the neighbourhood. And the Prosciutto Pizza is a recommendation that you can't go wrong with.
P.S, you have to eat your Pizza fast otherwise the sauce oozes out too quickly and it becomes soggy.
The pizza at this restaurant is fantastic, we've been a couple of times and the standard has always been high. The pizza chef obviously takes pride in his pizzas. The decor is contemporary with limited seating. Highly recommend.
Purchased the lot pizza,and the sopressa salami they used on the pizza was terrible.
Firstly it didnt taste like sopressa, and secondly it had a horrible smell to it. And destyoyed the rest of the pizza.
It tasted like it should not have been cooked.
Change brand guys and im sure customers would be happy.
Stumbled upon this little gem while looking for a Saturday night dinner. I have lived in Box Hill all my life and never found a local, solid Italian restaurant. Made a booking through zomato and it was quickly confirmed. We had a margarita pizza and a prawn pizza, both flavoursome with a fluffy and wood fire like crust. It was a pleasant surprise of how delicious the pizzas were!! Easily one of the best pizzas places we've eaten at in Melbourne! Will definitely be taking our friends there soon for another visit!
Split The Bill
What a fabulous pizzeria in Box Hill. Staff was fun, happy and very passionate about italian food especially their pizza base. All the pizzas we tried were delicious, loved the T17 pizza with mushrooms and the saltiness of the prosciutto. To finish off we had a few desserts, my favourite was the nutella calzone, it was huge!
Melissa.anne
This is by far the best pizza you will get in Australia!! My husband and I only discovered this gem a few months ago and we can’t get enough!! The desserts are to die for also. We took my Italian mum the last time we dined and she also agreed it was the best pizza she’d had in Australia.
The owner is extremely nice, we always feel so welcomed.
We love T17.
Located on a strip in a residential area, T17 is a beacon on a winter's night. An addition to Box Hill, with plenty of parking off the main street. With high ceilings and graffiti style art it's modern and attracts a younger crowd, though really everyone loves pizza! It's no wonder that the place was 75% full on a Thursday night.
Delicious pizza and pasta in the burbs. T17 is fishing up the goods when it comes to Italian food and the pizza bases are incredible. I tried a few of the pizzas and could not pick a favourite, the gnocchi melts in your mouth and dessert? You really do have to try them all...so good!
Michelle
I've had some good and bad pizzas from here. By the time I got home with the pizzas they were cold and sloppy. Had to put in oven to warm them up.
The best pizza I have come across in the Blackburn and boxhill area. I have been getting pizzas from here since they opened & everytime I come I have the T17 as it is absolutely delicious and a must try! I love the atmosphere & the staff are wonderful and very accommodating 😊
First time to T17 as we are trying out local eats near where were live. It's a modern Italian restaurant with nice interior and it's clean.
We ordered the T17 special and Agnello pizza. The base was fluffy and nice. We asked for no olives in the Agnello but it came with a generous amount of olives. Would love to have more lamb topping on it. For the T17 special, I don't mind it but felt it could be better. Not much mushrooms on it although there were good amount of prosciutto. A bit more mozzarella would have been good. The sauce on the pizza was a bit runny as well.
Overall, it's a nice place to have pizza in Box Hill.
Very very disappointed with this $19 lasagna. Went
back to receive a refund and no apology was given. Will not be going back anytime soon. Check the photo below.
Randomly found this place when googling for pizza. It was a must try for us as it was BYO wine! Pizzas were really good, we also have the calamari as an entree.
Choc Pudding
We had the pizzas as takeaway for a house party. Pizza dough is really fluffy, just like really good pizzas in Italy. We had a few flavours and pizzas look quite different from other places (it actually doesnt look very colourful and busy as other places’ pizzas). My favourite was the wild mushrooms. The super vegetarian was not bad either. The t17 was okay, and the hot pancetta one was full of chili, really hot. The only thing i dislike is they charge $6 for gluten free base. That is a lot.
Grouse! Beautiful authentic Italian style pizza - we had the procuttio and prawn on a garlic base pizza and it was superb! The calamari entree was delicious. The owner was friendly and informative. Service was excellent. A little gem in the burbs!
We love this place! Awesome pizzas with quality toppings and always served with a friendly smile and chat. Our go-to pizza joint in the Eastern suburbs!
ErinP
T17 is the only place to get take away pizzas, they were delivered still hot and were delicious. The bases are authentic Italian and the toppings are fresh and not overdone. We have also eaten in and the food is always great. You cannot get better pizzas in the local area 🍴🍕🙌🏼
Katya Smith
T17 special pizza with truffle cream and prosciutto was AMAZING!!!! Plus it's BYO so I'm looking forward to having some events here in Summer. The Staff are all super friendly too 😊 tip: best to eat in rather than takeaway to ensure a delicious crispy thin pizza
Excellent pizzas and entrée. Best local pizza option so far.! I've tried most pizzas there,my favorites are prosciutto pizza and cappriciosa,always served with fries and fresh ingredients. I feel welcome every time I've been there and the environment is
peaceful quiet and cosy,perfect for a nice Friday dinner close to home. Must try the nutella calzone and the chocolate bombolone 💓
Really good Italian pizza and lovely staff.
I really recommend to everyone even for kids. Clean comfortable and warm place to stay an happy hour in peace.
Sue Silva
Authentic Italian pizza, no nasty shredded ham here, just delicious proscuitto. Thin, chewy and delicious bases. Fast becoming a local gem. Highly recommend the 4 cheese and the Margherita pizza.
Sophia B
Delicious pizza, even when delivered! Our order reached us still hot and fresh. Crust is crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. And the amount of topping was just enough. I'll definitely be returning!
Chiara Laura Lanzon
Have wanted to stop here for awhile. Always judge a pizza place by the Margherita as if they can master that, then you are heading in the right direction. Spot on! Prosciutto pizza was great too. Base light and fluffy. Sugo just like Nonna's. Be back for sure.
Called and got asked to be put on hold.
Didn't get a chance to say "yes" and I could hear they put the phone down.
4 minutes later someone hangs up the phone.
Called back and got asked to be put on hold again. Explained what happened and he said he would just take my order.
Not apologetic or sounding like he cared. After I ordered he said there would be a 30 minute wait (which is fine but we needed something quicker) so I said we won't place the order. He then just said "ok" and hung up.
Very rude service.
Amazing pizzeria tucked away in a small shopping strip in Box Hill North! The restaurant was clean, had a relaxed casual ambience and not overcrowded. Service was quick and friendly. We ordered two pizzas- the T17 and the Meatlovers. They arrived as described on the menu with a good balance of toppings to base. The bases themselves were thin, chewy and had crispy crusts. We were extremely pleased to discover quality pizza comparable (if not better) to those from popular pizza restaurants in Melbourne.
At the end of our meal we were surprised with a complimentary serving of freshly fried Italian doughnuts. Although we were already very satisfied from our mains, we were more than happy to devour these delightfully fluffy pillows. We were later informed by the owner that lemon zest was incorporated into the dough which explained the subtly refreshing citrus notes throughout both the lemon curd and Nutella doughnuts.
We can't wait to come back to try more of the menu!
Found this take away spot in the middle of the burbs and what a surprise... great traditional pizzas, thin base, not overloaded with a ton of toppings but perfectly matched. This is our new go to place now (my wife's family being italian, you can t go wrong when they like a pizza)
LeaRuby69
We ordered the T17 pizza with the lot ... the base was delicious but hardly any toppings on it and it was supposed to have sopresso salami and olives but those two were missing on an already bare topped pizza for $21 !! It only had tiny sporadic pieces of ham , little bit of peppers , approx 6 tiny pieces of pineapple on the whole pizza , some mushrooms and a tiny bit of onion .. for the price .. we were disappointed !
Saw this one tucked down a side street near me, thought I'd give it a crack with my brother. Have been back 4 times since! Manzo Beef is the pick of them at the moment but the prawn and lamb choices are excellent too. The suburbs need more action like this!
Laura Stanke
Food was amazing! Mushroom arancini balls are awesome, so is t17 pizza! Second time we've had the food here and loved it both times. Will definitely be returning
Melbfoodie
Delicious gluten free pizza base!!! One of the best I have had since finding out I can no longer eat gluten. Seems like a lovely family type business too. Will be back!
Crooked Rain
Best pizza in the neighbourhood. Hands down. I could only find good Italian pizza like this in the CBD until T17 opened up out of nowhere! It's definitely a gem in the eastern suburbs that's worth a little drive. My personal favourite is the truffle cream one, but you can't go wrong with prosciutto or the tiger prawn :) the Nutella bombolini we had for dessert was great for finishing off the meal. Cheers, guys!
