Decided to try this place out recently, it was just ok. Service was good but food was just ok. The place is nice and neat though and waiters were attentive.
LIT!: I love how this place is great to share. The dishes were well portioned and was enough for our group of 12 to try everything on the table. My favourites included the roast duck and the fried fish!
Interior is very average for a Chinese restaurant.
But Definitely a place I’d like to come back to with large groups! X
We went for dinner last saturday and noticed they are under new management from last time I was there over one and a half year ago. They still do traditional cantonese style including roast duck and stuffed bean curd / scallop that required pre-order which are good. The wok fried dishes are up to standard. Complimentary chicken feet and desert are nice. Unfortunately the dining room is still small and packed thus chairs of neighbouring tables are all nose to nose close. The dining room manager was previously at Box Hill's Wong's Kitchen on Station Street and he recommends some fresh vegetables which are not disappointed at all.
As with any Chinese restaurant, don’t expect the greatest service unless you speak Chinese.
The food here is spectacular, definitely one of the better roast ducks in Melbourne having a good ratio of fat to meat and having crispy skin.
This restaurant gives an all around experience that is reminiscent of the Canton region in China. From the food to the ambience, you will no longer feel like you’re in Melbourne, you’ll feel like you have been immersed in Canton.
I would highly recommend people to come here for the food and an authentic Chinese experience.
Been here for many times now. Have always been our favourite Chinese dine-out place to go. Very authentic food from southern region of China. Even though some dish originated from the north also taste good there. Atmosphere: 3.5/5 (a little cramped as its a very small place. however i like the feeling that brought me back to restaurant feel in china.) Food: 4.5/5 (very tasty, genuine Chinese Chinese food, not Australianized Chinese food which is super hard to find in Melbourne) Value: 4.5/5 ( Price to the value/amount/flavour you are getting is high!) Service: 4/5 ( Genuine chinese style ordering too! a tiny bit "over pushy" ordering techniques but to a comfortable level!)
Took my grandparents there over the chinese new year again, and good feedback from the old generation. And they don't usually compliment on restaurants!
Modern asian restaurant that offers unique dishes that are flavoursome and tasty. Very efficient and friendly service. Prices slightly higher than the usual casual Chinese restaurant. Reasonable portions.
Their claypot crab vermicelli is a must try - the prawn version is delicious too and smoky. Their dishes are contemporary Malaysian and very interesting. They also do a yummy oyster omelette which not many places do.
This is the second time I came for this restaurant. We ordered a deep fried garlic crab, oyster hot pot and tofu dessert. All taste delicious with an authentic Cantonese style cooking. We had a great time there and chatted with the boss lady who gave good suggestions for our orders. Very satisfied. It's a must try for all Cantonese stir fry foodies
My favourite Cantonese restaurant in Melbourne! Their dishes are unique, high quality and delicious! The boss is so friendly, show up and talk to us every time we go there. We feel so welcomed!
We have dined there several times and also introduced friends to this unusual place for fusion type of cuisine
Most were not disappointed with the dishes
But for us we go back for our favorite dishes and they are the clay pot Chinese sausage rice and the pig's trotters
