This restaurant is really good, I have Tate Hunan style to the food, serving is too slow but you if you take the seat for a long time, you will find the food really delicious and tasty!

The worst experience ever, the price is just too high, two dishes for 70 and taste is no that good . The kitchen must be unclean, some metal parts from unknown thing appeared in my dish and they asked for cooking a new one instead, the attitude of the lady was alright, I’m appreciate that. Anyway, never come back.

Worst experience. I ordered the spicy beef rice noodle. No spicy at all. Wait for almost 40mins and got a rice noodle with no flavors at all. The contact number on google map is disconnected. ???

The price of dishes do not match with the quality of meals in term of its taste. In this afternoon, I ordered a fried eggplant with beans dish, and I found this dish was completely tasteless, because cook seemed to forget to add salt. I was really disappointed.

The customer service is really bad , I go in and saw the girl at the reception and I told her I need to take away , she asked me to scan and order , that’s alright. When I ordered and no body assist me with the confirmation and wait them for a while , she finally ask me to pay and I pay cash, she seems wanna change the rest of the coin to me but didn’t say anything and the end up I said just keep the change , she didn’t say any thank you or any smile even I took the food and go away after that . Very rude . Bad customer service .

Being a Human person I admit It's really hard to find a good Hunan Chinese restaurant that offers near authentic Hunan food in Melbourne, luckily this happens to be one of them. Now I suspect the low rating is from the previous restaurant at the same location; anyways, if you come here thinking it's a typical spicy food then you might be surprised. To be honest, when people think of spicy Chinese food, Sichuan food is the default, and there are tones of them around and many are overrated. The difference is Hunan food has none of those tongue numbing pepers nor fancy names and presentation found in Sichuan dishes, just simplicity of ingredients, strong chilli enhanced taste, rich texture and tasty home/village style food- though not the most healthy I must say. You can find all the characteristics of Hunan food in this restaurant, yes not perfect but really close. So if you know what Hunan food is and likes them, this place is highly recommend, if you have no idea come and try. Be warned, spicy level in the dishes here is not for evryone. Cons? Service. Zomato doesn't allow a 4.5 otherwise, another new favourite for my family.

A good place for dessert.
Cold spicy ducks are good, however, worse than it used to be. Not spicy at all. And sometimes not fresh. It can be tasted easily.
Other dishes are average but it does not suit my taste.
In a word, good place among station st.

Easy Cafe has some interesting menu choice and probably not as common as many other shops in the area. They specialise in different varieties of Beef and surprisingly Chicken & Pork was mostly missing from their menu.
The place is small and just functional in terms of deco. Good price and value for money. I took two different types of Beef noodle soups and was not satisfied with either. My rating is purely based on dishes I have had.
Staff is friendly and courteous.

Been to this little eatery a few times. Food was always delicious and resonably priced. There' re less than 10 tables, busy during lunchtime, most customer leave straight after finishing their meal. I was a bit annoy with the wait time at first but the food was delicious, now I am happy to wait 30mins for a really nice just cook (not microwaved) dish.
I think they offer Taiwanese food because the rice dishes and noodle soups tasted like what I had tried in Taiwan. My favourites are the rice in soup dishes, I have yet to find a place offering this type of dish (except in Taiwan). Their beef brisket noodle soup also tasted better than other places. The bubble waffle (cook on the spot) and taro ball desert was really nice too, its not too sweet. The milk tea was ok. I love very spicy food but I CANNOT finish their dish lable with 3 chillis. Even the 1 chilli was very spicy, I think its due to the chilli combined with pepper. So if you're not a chilli fan, choose a dish with no chilli (may contain pepper though). Order at the counter, service is always curteous. Would definitely re-visit.

Update 17 Sep 2018. Restaurant is under new management for quite a while. Menus have changed.

Quick meal, dessert and drink..... Taiwanese style.

Youthful, vibrant, fast-face, young crowd.

Non-traditional Taiwanese cafe, limited Menu, mostly set meals, easy to order (photos) and enjoy.

Won't burnt your pocket.

Came here for lunch, we were the only customers. Our noodle-soup was terrible, totally tasted like a bowl of cheap instant noodles. Other elements were overcooked or just unprofessional. We left shortly and barely touched our meal.

This is a small and cozy cafe.
In a cold, dark night. Hot and crispy dark sesame bubble waffle. Made to order? Olong tea in an insulated cup. That's what I ordered.
Hello. Imnikki
This is the place for me for egg waffles and thick toasts in Melbourne. The rest of the dishes on menu, best to just leave them alone. The egg waffles, while lacking the hollow interior that egg waffles should have, managed to achieve the crispy exterior skin. So far, the most acceptable egg waffles I can find in Melbourne. The thick toasts are huge portions of crunchy toasts topped with generous toppings and ice cream. A bit sweet but a great dessert to share with friends. However there is a very long wait for food here especially when you are just ordering desserts as they seem to serve the savoury main dishes first. Drinks are serve much faster and run the gamut from milk teas to fruit teas to iced drinks.

We decided to try this place after walking around in Bxhill on Fri night. It's a small cafe serving Taiwanese-China meals. The Fish Noodle soup appears to be good with nice portion of fish slices, vege and shanghai noodles with spicy soup base.

The salty sweet chicken was average. We tried the Taiwanese dessert which consists of black herbal jelly with the glutinous sweet potato and taro balls. It was big disappointment as the glutinous balls were hard and not fresh. Even the dessert bowl were small portion for the price of $6.80. Not worth it. I'd go anytime to Dessert Story to have Asian desserts anytime.

Not coming back since the food was average and service wasn't that great.

Cosy HK style cafe. They are a little slow but I didn't mind that considering we were there to chill. The green tea dessert below wasn't very sweet at all and very strong green tea flavour. My partner like it so he finished it all! We shared the egg waffles which was nice and light and requested for some condense milk to dip in - yummy! Every time we come to try their toast special they never have it!!! Sad- it looks very beautiful!

SERVICE IS SLOW + FOOD IS ABSOLUTELY LOUSY. ordered Dan zai bing with chocolate n it was not only undercooked but chocolate put on it was powdery and it was $6.80. We also ordered milk tea but they forgot to put our pearls in. Also ordered a strawberry farm - strawberries was not fresh and we paid 16.80 for a plate of toast with lousy strawberries. Not to mention the fact that we waited 40 mins for 3 items...

Doesn't represent Taiwanese service or food accurately. Food is not nice and the waitress basically ignores you and has a really awful attitude. Will never want to go back again.

Long wait, horrible service.. Very unpleasant waitress (the one who works friday and saturday nights). Orders get forgotten every single time we've gone. At first we tolerated it because we understood it would be tough to handle the front with one waitress but she is never apologetic and even when we are the only customers in the cafe, our orders still take a minimum of 30mins to arrive. You wave her down to ask if you can order and she practically ignores you. Tonight we ordered tea and apparently there weren't enough tea cups available. Really. A cafe that lacks cups. There are better places to get dessert and actual customer service than this unprofessional cafe.

I'm kind of on the fence for this one. The food is very ok but I do like their idea of using cloth bags for take out.

Deciding to eat something exotic along with our simple main meals, Easy Cafe had a range of small dishes from duck neck, gizzard to chicken hearts and liver. We tried the duck tongue for funsies, though it was nothing really weird about it, just feels like eating skin of a soft bone.

We ordered 2 meals, it take more then 30mins to arrived.... The service is terrible. The waitress is not friendly at all. Don't go !!

Burnt Radish Cake. My daughter and I went there for dinner on 6th Feb 2015. We ordered a noodle cart, a spicy dip, a Taiwan Club Snow ice and Radish cake. There is only one other table at that time about to leave. So that means we are the only one they have to cook for. It took a long time for noodles and dip to come out. The spicy dip is not actually a dip. All the meat balls and vegetables is placed inside the bowl with the spicy sauce which makes it more of a spicy soup than dip. As it was a very long wait we asked that if the Radish cake is not ready, we would like to cancel it. They said no, its cooked so we asked for it to be packed to go. The Snow Ice took another 20minutes to be ready. Even then the radish cake wasn't ready until another 25 minutes from when they said it was cooked. We did not open to see the box until we reached home. When we took eveything out of the box, it was totally black at the bottom. The top looks fine so no one would have noticed when you take it. The burnt part was purposely place at the bottom. I try a few pieces and it gives you a bad burnt taste even when we cut out the burnt part to be thrown away. After throwing most of the totally burnt part, I decided to take a picture for everyone to have a look. The picture here does not show the totally black pieces as it was already thrown away. There is not a single piece in the box that is not burnt. Will definitely not to to this cafe ever again.

Sucks. Bad customer service. Ordered 2 waffles and it took 30min to get em served. More importantly, they are undercooked. Really disappointing. Will definitely not going back ever again!

WORST DESSERT PLACE DO NOT GO!. After entering the fairly empty cafe at night, we had ordered a toast box and another dessert. after 40 minutes of nothing coming out, we had asked the wait staff where the desserts where, considering the restaurant was practically empty, it should not have taken that long. Once she went to check, she advised it would be a further 10 minutes, as they only have one oven in the kitchen.

The wait staff were standing behind the counter happily chatting, while one progressed to sniff something behind counter, discussing if it was still usable. how disgusting! major health issue there!

Wouldn't recommend this place with a 10 foot pole! Bad service, and clearly lacking the proper health and safety protocols that should be standard in any place that serves food!

DO NOT RECOMMMEND! It is extremely stuffy inside and the waitress had an unpleasant aura about, being quite aloof and unaware of her customers whilst only attending to her friends. The service was terrible, it took an hour for me to get my waffles when she said to just wait 5 minutes for my waffles. To wait an hour for waffles is just unacceptable. I was really disappointed with the pearls as they were mushy. Other than that, she did apologize but I wish she informed me about the breakdown of her machines earlier on.

Highly NOT recommended. Service is lousy. Hot inside. Dessert took super long. One bubble waffle took one hour! OMG

They said the dessert would be 5 minutes but it came out 30minutes later. It looked nothing like the picture and most of the fruit was canned. The spices in the new hot winter menu were raw and not cooked through. Only good thing were the drinks. Service is your average box hill service.
Eeyore
We could have the thick toast because we were too full from dinner. Had grass jelly with other toppings instead and it's way better than dessert story! And the service is way better too! Definitely will be back to try the thick toast

NOT So Easy cafe!! Worst cu.... NOT So Easy cafe!!
Worst customer service ever!!! All The reception I've received from the waitress serving me was "I don't give a fxxx" looking at her disinterested face only make me want to leave the cafe...
And the waitress obviously have no idea what they are selling!

Simple tasty food. The toast desserts are a signature dish. Maybe due to limited staff the dessert got late as the number of people in the restaurant increased

Nice small cafe in the heart of Box Hill, really enjoyed the spicy fish and prawn with rice dish. Highly recommend it.
Saster
Small cozy restaurant, good place to hang with friends. Ordered the Taiwanese spicy beef noodle which was too spicy and oily. Waitress warn us to order toast box dessert same time as main as it takes a while to bake. This place has nicer desserts than Dessert Story. Will be back for drinks/desserts only.
Courtney Lester
Fun dessert. Definitely recommend this place. the honey toasts not only look amazing but are delicious too!
