Was plan to have breakfast in food court . For some reason it was not open yet. So decided to wondering around the area for breakfast . Found this place and since they are open from 8am. Order myself a chicken coongee and it come with prawn rice roll. Am please with the breakfast. Remind me of HK breakfast . Will come back again
Very hong kong style cafe, cant find much in melbourne. Food is taste pretty good, service hong kong style. They have tranditional hong kong afternoon tea food as well. Recommending oven-bake pork chop on rice, is one of the signiture dish.
Don’t expect service in these hk style cafes. You are there just for cheap quick bite, if you want service, don’t go. Their food are always consistent and yum, except sometime you may need some wait if they are short staffed. Their milk tea is the best. They are one of the 15+ yrs still operating hk cafe with same owner, same name, same location in box hill, much much longer than any hk cafe in area. Well, they are there for a reason.
Ordered the Saute Mushroom E-Fu noodles and got the Chicken E-Fu noodles instead. Luckily I'm not vegetarian and didn't mind the difference. The HK milk tea is tasty as expected.
Don't be put off by the low rating on Zomato. You have to approach this place with zero expectations because it probably hasn't changed since it opened back in the day. It's cheap, fast, and in true Hong Kong style, doesn't really have patience to provide service.
However, the food IS good when you make the right pick! Think HK style brunch options ABCDE: congee, toast, instant noodles with satay beef, vermicelli etc. Lunch time options rotate constantly so you're guaranteed something different every time. I've been coming here since I was a little girl, and I love it.

This place brings back fond memories of Hong Kong. The food are delicious and remind you of those kinds of cafes in the 80s. It's warm and staff are very friendly.

For the true blooded Hongkie like myself Jade HK Cafe represent what Hong Kong Cafe food culture truly was and still is today.
I had been visiting this restaurant since my late high school days and now even well into my work career JHKC still represented the one place where I can get HK cafe styled food and restaurant ambiance when a 9 hours flight is just too hard to bear for some.
And that mean hard seats, tea served in a plastic glass, $10 set lunches and of cause the Hong Kong styled silk stockings milk tea.
Silk stockings you say? Yes that is correct. In order to brew the most flavorsome red tea the tea leafs must be boiled in silk leg stockings once worn by the boss lady of the restaurant. Just like Cuban cigars that are rolled on the thighs of the cigar rollers.
Now now before you start ringing the Department of Food Safety Victoria please note that silk stockings yes but once worn by the boss lady is a "NO, NO, NO, NO and NO"... But the stockings might had been worn by the boss man though :D
The milk tea served by the restaurant is deep in aroma and flavor and with added condensed milk makes tea bags tea looks like child's play.
The ever changing $10 tasty set lunch is big in serving sizes and with the choice of either western or Asian flare with either rice, spaghetti or potato mash sides there will be a combo that suits everyone.
For a little extra $ the steak set lunch will satisfy the most hungry carnivore on the planet.
And for those who have an instant noodle addiction you are taken care of too!!!
And for the sweet toothed do give the French Toast (Deep fried peanut butter sandwich served with golden syrup) a try. It never disappoints me every time I tried.
But for those who comes into the restaurant expecting leather sofas and 5 star service will left feeling disappointed or even abused when the waiter ignored your order call while they are running off their feet.
As for those who was born in a city that operates everything at 200% pace and never sleeps will find JHKC a good place to slow down, eat some true styled HK cafe food, pay with little coin and be happy to be a true Hongkie.
I really enjoy the food here! Very nice Hong Kong style Cafe dishes. The prices are very reasonable and set lunches are great. This is a regular for me.

Been visiting this place for 15 years. Milkf tea always beautiful and chicken steak very nice. However they need to update their menu.
The baked beef brisket with Macau sauce was great!
Modern Hong Kong cafe food. Bake cheese pork chop is the best.
