This place is bomb. Amazing Philippino pastries. Everything here is so fresh and clean, you can see bakers out the back, mixing, rolling, preparing the goods.
When someone tells you they drive from Melton to Braybrook just for the pan de sal from Masarap Bakery, what do you do? Go forth and buy a dozen of course. I'm not sure what black magic was used in the making of pan de sal but they stay soft and fluffy for days. Heat them up, slathered them with butter or just dipped them in coffee, it's impossible to stop at one, or two, or three. I am yet to try Masarap Bakery's other offerings but judging by their pan de sal, I'm guessing everything else will be just as good.
My babes and I occasionally buy the sweet Filipino bread called Pan De Sal and whenever we do, we'll get it from Masarap Bakery in Braybrook.
Masarap, which is Tagalog for delicious, is a perfect adjective to use when describing their Pan De Sal, which are freshly baked everyday between 8 AM and 8 PM. Because they are constantly baking fresh Pan De Sal, usually you have a choice to buy the pre packed dozen in a clear plastic bag or freshly baked in a brown paper bag.
No matter what you buy, the best way to have Pan De Sal is reheated with a small amount of butter.
