Been here many times and they never fail on service and food. The flavours are spot on and the portions are very generous. Absolutely love the grilled baby calamari and the oysters, everything is cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.
Our go to place for Fish & Chips. We always order the calamari rings too! Oysters and prawns are fresh, it’s always busy and can get a bit cramped or a bit messy (sticky tables) so we like to get it takeaway and walk across to the beach.

I only ordered a fried barramundi fillet here, to snack on by the beach, as I had lunch already, but the service here was so friendly, I felt I had to let people know.
The fish itself was good but nothing very special. It had a crispy and crunchy batter outside, while remaining soft and flakey inside. The batter was nice and light, and cooked thoroughly, unlike some places where I find the batter tends to be a bit thick and cloggy still from not being cooked well due to it's thickness. However, I would have preferred they didn't line the box with a thin sheet of paper, or perhaps to use baking paper if they're concerned about the oil, as the paper they used was very thin and broke apart easily, sticking to the underside of the fish and getting eaten along with the fish.
The service was super friendly. The boy who served me was very polite and friendly, but not only that, everyone who worked at the shop would smile warmly when they made eye contact with me. My fish fillet waa also quite large compared to come other places, and only cost around $11. You do have to pay an extra $0.25 for any sauces, but where in Australia is any sauce free? The sauces are those little squeeze-on ones from Masterfoods, so to be honest, it makes sense they need to charge, as they'd have to pay to order the sauce in.
Situated on prime real estate on Bay St, Ocean Heart Seafood does not fail to deliver on its promise of sea food close to the ocean.
We had the soft shell crab with chips and salad, as well as a number of fried scallops as takeaway.
Service was quick and friendly, and there was ample seating within the venue. Food was edible and the chips definitely continued to improve throughout the meal.
Do: the family basket. Great assortment of family favorites and good value. Can feed a family of 3 or 4 easily. The calamari is a must. Fat and juicy.
Dont: get too over anxious. It takes a while for fresh quality produce to be cooked to order (about 10-15mins) so just take a seat and relax until your number is called.
Tip: grab a large tartar sauce, some serviettes and head to the water and enjoy.
First time ordering at this restaurant and it won't be my last. The service was excellent.. found the guy so helpful and the seafood was to die for. I am normally very fussy about what I call good seafood and if you ever want something special this is the place to go. The lady (probably the owner) was extremely friendly and it was great to see someone who understands cleanliness. I gave you 5/5 stars and cannot wait to order from you again real soon. I know I'm going to be a regular.
Yum yum! Not greasy, decently price comes with tartare sauce at no charge. Huge portions. My fried calamari and thin batter which is hard to get - also means they make their own ! Comes with salad too. Wish I had lobsters and scallop. Definitely be back if I'm around.
