Its not cheap but it is worth spending that extra little bit to get a better product. The fish of the day was brilliant, the batter was crisp and full of flavour, the fish itself was thick yet tender, it just fell apart in your mouth. Squid was a little bit chewy but it was proper squid not minced squid. The chips were great, well seasoned with chicken salt and just perfectly cooked

Very fresh seafood! Great batter on the fish. But overall seasoning lacks, definitely room for improvement even with a bit more salt + pepper.

Fish Tank Fish and Chips is a great Fish and Chippery with some really nice fresh Seafood, the Hamburgers are delicious and the value for money is pretty good, I Highly Recommend Fish Tank Fish and Chips! 👌🏼

An impromptu day-trip to Brighton Beach ended up with the best fish & chips we've ever had. We purchased the Fisherman's Delight - such superb value. The freshness of the fish & fried scallops (with the roe inside) was exquisite. A beautiful day made that much better. Quality such as this is why Melbourne is one of the most likeable cities in the world :)

Service was OK and staff fairly friendly, however they asked questions on how you would like things, take away or eat in and then forget to do them. Wasn't busy, so not really a rush hour issue. The fish and chips are good, but I wouldn't go as far as saying they are memorable. All in all, neither great nor terrible, unfortunately forgettable.

Ordered half dozen oysters, but two of them are smelly and didn’t taste good, only three oysters tasted good, the last one tasted weird but I sallowed it; the staff explained they are all arrived today and unwillingly gave me a new one; they should have done proper quality control when severing; Won’t recommend to have oysters there.

Nice fish and chip in Brighton. The portion is reasonable and price is bit pricey, but worth it. Love the wide range of selection available .

FAVOURITE FISH N CHIPS HANDS DOWN ! ...so far. This place is my fish n chips cravings safety net at the moment. Everytime i get that fishy feeling. I head here and get treated for my addiction. These guys serve up the best fish n chips in the area. You will pay for it $$ but its worth it. Also very diet friendly here. Its easy to locate and easy to find parking. A short stroll from the water. The staff are great here . Greeks love fish n chippies and this gets the chocco tick of approval! Keep up the good work Fish Tank 👏

Here’s a tip... never eat at this place in Brighton ! We won’t again! The neighbours table was being cleared and a full (unopened) container of tartare sauce was being cleared by the owner .. I asked him to pass it over and he said ‘buy your own for $1.. this ones going in the bin’ ... stupid, arrogant and wasteful

I've been going to fish tank for years, every time i go to see my grandma i pick up fish and chips from here because it used to be one of the best places in Melbourne. I'm not sure if management changed, but in the last 6-12 months the quality has really gone down hill. The last 5 times I've been the potato cakes have been significantly worse than they used to be, like from a school canteen. Unfortunately even the $1.50 dim sims $15 salmon which i get every time are not nearly as good as they used to be. You used to be expensive, but high quality and delicious. Now you're above average price, but only average taste. I'm sure your customers would be happy to pay a bit more for you to start making high quality fish and chips again.

This would have to be my favourite fish shop in Melbourne. The fish is always fresh and their menu plentiful. Service is friendly and accomodating. You can never get bored of eating here especially if you love your seafood.

Worst service !!! The moment we walked in we were rudely welcomed , the register girl thinks she works at a toorak boutique , well calm down your at a fish and chip shop , we ordered a whole fish and got half a fish , the waiter just basically threw down the plates and walked off , we asked the waiter is this fish a whole or half and just abruptly said half . Freaking terrible guys !!! we didn't even bother eating !! Go Hunky Dory guys get some lessons from them

Had herd a lot good reports from friends that had been to Fishtank, so the wife and I decided to check it out. Hands down the best fish&chips ive had in a long time. The seafood was fresh and service was great, can't wait to go back 😀👍

Iv been eating here for the last few months. The food is amazing! Excellent service everytime. The fish and salads are always fresh. Recommend to anyone with an equisted taste bud to fresh seafood. 10/10 very reasonable price for quality!

What a fantastic restaurant!! The quality of both the service and the food is second to none! Our favourites are the burgers with chips, although everything is always cooked perfectly no matter the order, and is always served with a big friendly smile best worn by Jose :) Thank you for the excellent service, quality and consistency. In Brighton for 4 weeks & have been searching for great FishnChips, stumbled onto Fishtank & was impressed with the quality of the produce on display & the fun helpful staff. <br/>Where this place could gain extra stars would be if they used a flavourless cooking oil. Fish & potatoes which is the prominent food available is delicate so the oil can’t be the hero. The oil tasted like a cottonseed oil which is predominantly used by US fast food chains.<br/>Also would love to see hand cut chips & potato cakes as these would give bonus stars.<br/>

We collected dinner 10 minutes after ordering (name was being called as my mother walked in) and food was wet, soggy and unappetising when we got home. Unfortunately someone had put grilled fish over the chips and potato cakes, transforming them into limp pieces of greasy potato. Not even 20 minutes in a hot oven could fix it. We called and the staff member didn't really know what to say (most likely he hasn't been properly trained in how to best respond to complaints/feedback). It would be nice to get a follow-up from the restaurant, but this seems unlikely. Seems a shame as Fish Tank has been mostly reliable in the past. Will not return.

All I went in for was 4 steam dimmies and a coke told she’d get them to me straight away waited ( after asking how if they had any which they said they did) 15 min later told they would be 2 more minutes, refund and left seriously disorganized, staff crashing in to customers and each other. Not the icon it use to be what a mess!!! 😢

We had a couple of plates of golden fried delicious seafood. Everything was cooked well, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside.

Terrible service, place is full of stuck up kids with no clue. You ask for salt on your chips and they are too lazy to pick up the fish to salt the chips and just salt the whole thing instead. Who wants their fish salted and not their chips? A complete disaster of a joint. Sad!

Second time visiting this fish and chip shop, second time disappointed. Dont go here unless you want a light snack. I received about 10 chips along with my flavourless grilled fish. They also only salt the top of the pack, unfortunately meaning no salt on your chips. They will be as plain and flavourless as the fish. <br/>While I’m at it, get some better customer serving kids that actually care about their job and the well-being of their customers. Night ruined. Will be going to bed tonight dissatisfied and hungry. Will not be returning.<br/>

Have been to the Fish Tank many times over the years. Their menu is extensive and whatever we have ordered has been cooked perfectly. The staff are usually very pleasant I have never had a problem with being overcharged and definitely always been served what we ordered and paid for.<br/>The seafood always looks so fresh and everything is clean and fresh looking. Prices are average and table service is good.

Unforntunatly I ordered $90 worth of food and sadly was missing a lot from my order I was very upset and not very satisfied with customer service not going back again the food was pretty average

Pretty decent fish and chips, however not the cheapest and not the best. Batter is pretty good, better than many traditional seaside places where it's a big thick or soggy. The waitress that took our order was very friendly and also gave us complimentary sauce (they usually charge for it), and that was a very nice gesture. Would consider coming back if we're in the area again.

The staff were good and accommodating, food was pretty nice but the old lady whom seems to be the boss, treats her customers well but her staff like absolute shit in public and I’m disgusted.

When it comes to plain and simple Fish & Chips, this place does it extremely well. We ordered the Fisherman’s Delight for two which came with Fish Of The Day (Blue Grenadier), Potato Cakes, Calamari, Scallops, and Chips. The seafood itself was incredibly fresh and was fried to perfection with light and crispy batter. The Chips and Potato Cakes were above average but nothing amazing. Everything was very simple so the main focus was on the natural flavours of the seafood itself, while I did have to get some sauce to help finish off the chips and potato cakes. <br/><br/>I would definitely recommend this place for plain old Fish & Chips (but mainly the fish).

For a fish and chips place, it’s highly recommended. The seafood are very fresh. I normally but fresh seafood directly from them cause I don’t like fried fish. But still, nice spot. But the last time the waiter we had, was so inexperienced and took our orders wrong 3 times.

we came here for a bite after a long day out. they have a variety of seafood to select from. we had the grilled catch of the day, which was Bluefish I think and Thai salmon pattie. friendly staff.

I checked this place out after there was a lot of talk from my colleagues at work. I ordered the daily catch pack (grilled)and was delighted with what i could savour. It was perfectly cooked and really tender. I see what the fuss was all about!

We went here for years.I ordered lobster this year for Christmas at $185 p/kilo.I was shocked & rang my old fishmonger at Prahran Market (Claringbolds) & asked them what they charge $135 per kilo & told me I was being ripped off. This place is such a disappointment as it used to be good with great staff. The quality of the seafood has also deteriorated. Apparently Red Lobster in Highett is good so going to give it a try.

Very good fish and chips. Everything is quite fresh and on display so you can see what you are getting. Good service and bustling atmosphere. The packs that have are good combinations too. I had calamari, scallops, flake and chips. The chips were lacking in a bit of crunch and flavour. Everything else cooked perfectly.

Don’t come when it’s hot as for some reason you don’t get quality as it drops massively which is unfortunate. The salads are the biggest let down pea & green bean salad just tasteless no dressing at all not even seasoning. The other salads follow suit, and when you are getting charged $10.50 for a medium you expect a little more than just a salad that’s been put together by someone that doesn’t care!

This place has gone downhill in a big way. Last 4 times I have been there it was not great but last night was really bad. Soggy overcooked fish, yucky dim sims and potato cakes the worst ever salt and pepper calamari which was actually lemon pepper(very strong). Near inedible meal and over charged by $11.00.I went back twice. I must be stupid. One year ago got my kids dim sims only to find a dead fly in one after my son bit into it. Again last night for another birthday. Order completely wrong. Over cooked inedible flat head at $14.95 a serve. Soggy rockling. No tartare paid for 4 tubs $1.00 each. Not enough chips when chips for 10 people was ordered we received 1 large. Owner was very rude when I returned it and offered a $20 voucher when we spent $160.00. He wouldn’t even refund the 4 tartare sauces which were paid for and not received. A second birthday dinner ruined. Too bad I am never setting foot In the place again. Real rip off.

Spent about $18 here on a fish pack for two people which is reasonable though maybe a touch more expensive than other places. Fit out of the shop is probably the nicest you'll Ever see in a take out place- complete with an aquarium to stare at while you wait for your food. Fish and chips were tasty too, shame it isn't my local chippy.

Very average food for the exorbitant prices you pay here! The only reason they get away with it is because it's in BRIIIIIIIIGHTON! Otherwise this place would not be in business! Goes to show you can open up a shop and charge whatever you want and people that live in affluent areas will flock to it as they are pretty useless at cooking and this place is testament to that.

Every time I go to melbourne I take my grandfather lunch from the fish tank .... it is always fresh and cooked to perfection .... the baked salmon steaks are my favourite

Lunched here late morning and ordered their grilled Blue Grenadier with chips for only $10, the fish was very nice (but I've had better elsewhere for just a few dollars more), and the chips were very good. My dish was served within 20 minutes of ordering and I chose to eat out in the warm sun. Service provision was very good, friendly & efficient. Great little fish and chip place! 7 or 8 tables for you to dine in and enjoy. Food is served on real plates with real cutlery which is a nice change for a fish and chip shop. Huge range of fresh fish and seafood - all looked and smelled great. Batter on our fish was light and crisp and the staff could not have been more helpful! They get busy so be prepared for a short wait for your food - it's all cooked fresh. Loved it here and will definitely return!

Overrated! <br/>If you dine in, the seatings are cramped. No effort in food presentation. Portions look miserable on the plate. Everything was bland - from fish to chips. Maybe they deliberately left the salt out for health reasons? There's salt & pepper on the table for you to season to your own liking? Yum!! I so wish that this was our local chippery! Well worth checking out if you're in the area - and I would also say, it's worth driving out to just to eat here. The salad was also super fresh - I liked how you have about four gourmet options to choose from. Our salad was forgotten. Our guests food was forgotten COMPLETELY. Even when asked, it still took another 15 minutes to come. And even then, no one brought us cutlery! Apparently they had run out?! <br/><br/>Having waited so long, the food was, unfortunately, nothing to desire. Upon expressing my disappointment to a staff member, no apology or compensation was offered. All in all, I would not recommend. <br/><br/>

Wow wee. I ordered take away salads and paid an arm and a leg for them. I got the Mexican one and the quinoa one. Very very expensive for what you get!! They both tasted extremely bland and very boring. They also tasted like fish.. which means they had been sitting there probably for a while. Ew. Called in based on rating on Zomato. Saturday night so very busy, but although we were warned it could be a 30 min wait, in fact the food was out within 15min. Delicious salmon and fresh tasty salads

Was in the area and decided to drop by for lunch as others have recommended it to me. Oh what a bad decision that was truly. The service is just atrocious and the food well it wasn't too bad but definitely does not live up to the reviews. I'm sure there are much better places to go for fish and chips in the local area.

Totally useless. Poorly run with atrocious customer service. We thought we'd get some fish and chips and take to the beach with our 2 year old. After we had paid, we were told there was no cutlery for take away! Seriously, what sort of a dodgy operation are they trying to run! When my wife asked how we were supposed to eat our fish without a knife and fork, she was told to go to Coles to buy some. How about these useless tossers get a clue and go to Coles to get take away cutlery for their customers. Lord knows they charge enough for the fish. Rude arrogant low lives.<br/>Now to the food. Chips were nice. My wife's dukkah crusted fish was totally dried out. My tangy chilli calamari had no tang, no chilli and no taste. Highway robbery for what they charge. Late lunch before the movies at Dendy. Fish and chips $10 snack pack served plated to my table.. Great meal value and it was prefectly cooked. Cannot beat this in Brighton.

The food as fish tank is absolutely delicious - super fresh seafood cooked well (think fancy fish and chips). My only reserves about this place are that it gets stupidly busy (especially in summer), so wait times can be excruciatingly long. And it's pretty pricey.

Minimum chips was minimal... Sauce was $1... $1! Had to remortgage the house just to afford enough to add some flavor to the salt less meal. Fish was acceptable but soggy.<br/>Would have preferred to eat a filet o fish. Won't be back... Unless they change their stance on condiment prices (but probably not) <br/>

My favourite fish and chip shop at the moment. Their chips are thick cut and flavored brilliantly and their calamari is to die for, their fish is always fresh too. <br/>The fish tank built into the wall is also nice to look at while you're waiting for your order.

Fish Tank is good quality fish cooked well. <br/><br/>Do yourself a favour and try the thai salmon burger. You should probably have some chips with that. 4 n a half out of 5, delicious.

Yummy! Good selection of fish and other non-fish dishes, not badly priced and healthier options such as veggies and rice which is great to see. Spicy calamari was a good serving size considering the price however the flavour very overpowering. Would return for some healthy laid back fish and other goodies 😄

Fish monger that also does fish and chips. Their fish is very fresh though expectedly on the more expensive end of the spectrum being in Brighton. Fish and chips are done well with pack options to suit everyone. Burgers are ok too but not as good as Royale brothers.

FISH TANK is my favourite fish and chip takeaway/eat in in Melbourne by far. It garners by a visit to Church St Brighton just to indulge in what is on offer.<br/>I tend to oscillate between having the fish grilled and fried. The chips and salads are truly something.<br/>Everything is so fresh and yummy.

I've eaten here may times. Was disappointed after returning from holidays to see the long time manager was no longer there. Seafood was still good however, service has been consistently bad upon each visit. Dissapointed that good service is no longer required to run a business. Won't be returning.

WAITED 50 MINUTES FOR FOOD for me and my family then decided to get a refund and get burgers. Absolutely appalling service. No one came to clear the dirty plates on our table from the last customers. People beside us came and went. On one table they seated 3 different groups. They all ate and left. If you are hungry and want good service I suggest you avoid this place.

Everything is fresh which looked very appealing up until we placed our order. Girl at the till lacked customer service skills and was simply rude and showed no interest in taking our order let alone assisting corporately. When asked what a scallop is she simply looked at us then pointed at the scallop and turned her head. No knowledge shown on what's for offer. <br/>Our calamari was missing from our pack which was even more disappointing and chips are bland and only a very little amount is given. Credit though to the fish and potato cake. Only good thing that came out in the end. <br/>Worth trying for yourself if you're in the area.

Twice now to Fish Tank and sadly, twice disappointed. <br/><br/>The first time was a year or so ago when I was unwell. I didn't want to cook dinner so decided to treat myself. It took them 45 minutes to prepare fish and chips for one...<br/><br/>The second time was a birthday treat for a friend and his family. Fish Tank was having a busy evening (nice problem to have), and threw all the boxes together into a bag. A half hour later when we got home we realised half the fish weren't in the bag. I rang straight away and they offered to refund the fish if I came back the next day (given we were celebrating a birthday, I couldn't drive the hour back and forth that evening to get the rest of the meal). When unpacking the rest we realised some of the extras also weren't there. When I went in for the refund the next day and mentioned the extras they didn't want to refund them. In the end the guy behind the counter thrust the money at me and walked off. Excuse my confusion, but I thought I was the customer who had a birthday spoilt by lack of food and had to drive an hour round trip to pick up a refund for their oversight. Why should I have been left feeling like I was being unreasonable/asking them for a favour when it was their mistake (It was a $70-$100 order by the way)? The alternative approach could have been, 'here's your $25 and we are sorry for the inconvenience' - simple, easy, and I wouldn't have left this review. I only gave one and a half stars because the food was alright, otherwise it would have been one.<br/><br/>I won't be going there again - its not worth it.

We had grilled salmon white we asked medium. It came well done. Surprisingly not dry though. The Mexican salad lacked flavor, but otherwise not too bad. Presentation was excellent. So our expectations were higher than what we got. I would go again when they weren't short staffed.

This place is my local fish monger and also a local institution. Fishes are so fresh because they are also a fish monger. You can come and grab some salmon, prawns or any other great fishes to cook yourself. Their only downfall would be they are so busy due to their success sometimes it can take a while. I suggest ordering over the phone, like that you don't feel the wait. Great service too. Lovely people

We ordered takeaway here on a warm and balmy Monday night. I know F&C is the go-to meal once the temperature goes above 30 degrees but the wait and the crowd control here were disappointing. We pre-ordered on the phone and were told it would take about twenty minutes. Arriving twenty minutes later there were 15+ other people waiting and no order. The staff were severely stressed and rude to each other as they struggled to keep up with demand. <br/><br/>We ordered a healthy fish pack including blue grenedier, chips and salad along with some potato cakes and calamari. The food itself was quite nice. Less chips than one might expect but the fish was fresh and pleasant and the calamari rings were great. <br/><br/>This is probably a good pick on a cold and miserable day with no wait. But beware hot days where you will wait in a hot and crowded shop for 20+ minutes, sweating it out with many others even if you order ahead. Would really recommend the shop upgrade it's ordering and collecting systems to something involving a computer and a clearly designated pick up area. Until that happens there are better options bayside.

Great food but appalling service. Why do we get charged up to a $15 price difference almost every time go there for the same meal? We debate this, but they always look at us blankly like this is the first time they've every spoken to us about this. Tonight was the final straw when they were outrightly rude to us. Never again will you have our business Brighton Fishtank.

Despite every bit of seafood on my plate being well prepared and cooked, I was still left feeling annoyed with my visit. The staff were short and borderline rude. Even the waiter bringing food to the table couldn't manage a single word or smile, making us feel pretty unwelcome. For a fish and chip shop, the meal was also very light on actual chips (honesty guys, it's not hard, they cost next to nothing to buy in!). Probably not worth a repeat visit.

Unpleasant experience! We were (not) greeted by a un interested girl taking orders at the counter who was very rude from start to finish. It began when I misheard her when she asked if we wanted to eat in or take away - it just got worse from there. A smile and a 'thank you' isn't such a hard thing.

I love a bogan 70s style deep fried plump juicy flake with chicken salted "minimum chips" (translation: more chips than a family of 5 could finish) bought at a run down shopping strip in some far flung outer suburb more than anything in this world. You'll find nothing like that here. The thinnest portions of dry, sad grilled flake. Tiny baskets of unsalted chips. Not a bogan in sight. Is this meant to be progress?

I love their fish tank display opposite the counter where you order! It was something nice to look at while you were waiting there. They also had an appealing display cabinet showcasing off their seafood produce. The chips here were nice and crunchy and the salt & pepper calamari were quite tasty. Would eat here again when in Bayside!

Consistently one of the best fish and chips joints in Bayside. I have been to Fish Tank multiple times (20-30) and I have never had a bad experience with them. Their fish is always fresh, and their chips are always nicely cooked. It can be a bit pricey, but if you're willing to sacrifice a few extra lazy dollars for a quality feed, trust me when I say its well worth the price.

Excellent fish and chips, very fresh and cooked perfectly! We had a glass of vino and sat in, I can see why it is so busy! Will definitely go back.

Terrible, terrible, terrible.. I have had two horrible experiences with this place. The first was a 60min wait for overpriced, tasteless fish and chips. The second I ordered 45mins in advance so that I wouldn't have to wait, and I arrived and it still took a further 25mins. Disgrace. Worst I have been to.

Overpriced and under delivered. Every thing is overpowered by herbs no sauce at all on the garlic prawns. Fish over grilled and dry. Won't be back

Mum and I had an amazing dinner experience here tonight. At 6:30pm on a Friday, it was packed (of course) and we were told to expect a 25 minute wait. The wait turned into 45 minutes but the customer service and quality of food made up for it entirely. I am a sashimi lover and asked if i could have some raw tuna (not on the menu) which was no problem and arrived sliced and presented to perfection. My grilled rockling was fresh, juicy and delicious, mum's chips were crunchy and not too salty and the catch of the day, no clue what type of fish, was also divine. Mum always chooses grilled over fried but forgot to specify this time; no drama because the batter was as light and non greasy as anything, for once not overpowering the fish. As we waited we had plenty of time to suss out what goes on behind the counter and the staff here work their ASSES off, they definitely deserve some appreciation. Overall a great place for dinner (lisenced too yay!), would recommend!

Confused!!! Live local. Been coming here on a weekly basis from the week this shop opened. Quality was superb on day 1, hardly ever fails to disappoint! Frozen fish???? Have to be kidding!! I read these reviews and wonder about the authenticity of these"reviews". The fact you need to wait on a Friday night is probably a positive rather than a negative! Enjoy people, and rejoice in quality fish and chips!

Good food but served with complete incompetence and/or arrogance. Utter incompetence and lack of respect for customers time when taking orders. how hard is it to give people a realistic wait time? absoulte flogs and happy to support another fish shop in the area if one pops up. if you love being arsed around then this is the place for you.

Life's too short to wait so long. Been here a few times and go back because the food is actually quite good.. as long as you're happy to wait. Sure they get busy, who doesn't. Unfortunately though (for us) they are the only fish and chip shop on church st and they seem to take advantage of that and not really care too much how long customers wait. I called, was told to pick up in 30mins, got there after 40mins (thought I'd give them extra time as I've experienced these waits before) and they hadnt even started to cook my order. After someone told me they'd ordered one hour ago I told them to cancel mine and opted for a yummy burger from Royale Brothers across the road which was cooked and ready to go within 10mins.. oh and they were also very, very busy. Fishtank has a very bad system in place. If they can't sort out how to structure the kitchen and who does what resulting in unheard wait times for customers then the least they could do is be honest and let people know how long the wait is. I'd rather an honest approach so I can make a decision on whether I want to wait that long. Sometimes being honest and maintaining a positive brand is better than dealing with all these bad reviews. Eventually they will have competiton close by and they will lose. If you want good efficient service then try Chats fish and chips right next to gardenvale station or Blue Sea on Ludstone Street in Hampton.. or there's a great Hunky Dory in Highett.. the 5-10min drive there would surely be quicker than waiting for the arrogance at fishtank to sort themselves out! I'll be back at Hunky Dory before going to fishtank again.

Great fish but dodgy salads. We always order the "Health Attack' which is grilled fish, chips and salad, often upgrading to grilled salmon.<br/>On quite a few ocassions the salads are not fresh (not prepared daily as quoted ) tasteless and soggy. I mentioned this to the waiter who cleared our tables and he said "He would tell the boys" Didn't really think this was great customer service.<br/>Fish is great but give the salads a miss!

Do you even know customer service skills?. Went to buy some raw fish and was waiting at the raw fish section for 10 minutes before a lady came over and told me i had to line up over at the counter behind all the other customers. So I then moved and waited another 10 minutes in line. Once i got to the front and asked for some raw fish to take home she then told me that if I wanted to order from the fish section that I had to wait back where I had initially been waiting. Very disappointing! I then returned to fish tank 2 weeks ago to pick up takeaway which they had told would take 45 minutes. Once I got there I had to wait an extra 30minutes. Absolutely shocking. Good food but horrible customer service.

Really Good. My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to have a dinner and we found this restaurant at Urbanspoon app. We definitely did a good choice, Great food and staff, pretty value. If you are looking for a dinner for two people choose the fishermen's delight, you won't be disappointed.

Expensive, poor service, average food. I know its only a neighbourhood fish and chip shop, so service standards are not that high, but this place is terrible. Pretty sure they simply forgot my order, with people who ordered after me served well ahead. When I asked( after 15 minutes), there was an awkward pause, then "its coming" as they hastily put my order on. No apology, no excuse, just dirty look for asking.<br/>A piece of flake to take away at $7.50 and other prices to match.<br/>Quality of outcome just fair- fish OK, calamari quite good, potato cakes too thick.<br/>Just don't bother- there are many better places to get your fish and chips.

Okay I know Friday nights are busy! But I ordered 45 mins before told it was all good to pick up. I get the 44 later and I see 11 staff members trying to understand what busy means! Then having to wait another 25 mins . The food was ok. But they need someone to lead not just to stand behind a register !

Waited over 40 minutes for fish and chips.. It's a takeaway not a restaurant. Pretty slack when u are going out to the movies.. Very poor

The Best! The service is fantastic, I'm very indecisive and they are always so patient and helpful. Even have a gear range of salads and vegetarian food.

Best Fish & Chips in Melbourne. I've had fish & chips all over Melbourne, however this place is by far the BEST. Amazing selection of fresh fish, its very gourmet, it has baked/grilled/fried fish and a large selection of healthy salads. I dine there often, the other day I had the baked salmon, quinoa salad and chips, couldn't fault it. Even though I'm a big fan of healthy eating, I must say the chips were absolutely amazing. One suggestion, if your having take away I would recommend you call up and pre order as they're always very busy.

Amazing food, not the greatest service. Service is rushed, you hardly have time to get a word in before they already assume what you want and when it comes wrong there's nothing to be done. Love the food, everything is amazing, even the salads are something I would have on a daily bases. But staff need to be more conscious of their customer service skills!

Terrible!!. Bad food, nasty employees! My boyfriend and I had dinner at fish tank earlier this evening and I have nothing nice to say about it. We were both extremely disappointed and for different reasons. Firstly, it is extremely overpriced, we were happy to pay for it hoping the price would be an indication of great quality, this was not the case. I had a veggie burger and they managed to get my very simple order wrong. My boyfriend ordered $37 worth of food (being a huge seafood lover). Unfortunately the octopus skewers were close to raw and inedible, the fish was of poor quality, and even the dim sims missed the mark. When he spoke to staff extremely politely about his disappointment, the guy in charge shrugged his shoulders rudely and responded with "well, what do you want me to do about it?" All my boyfriend was looking for was a kind apology, instead staff were horrible and nasty. It is for this reason that I'm writing my first ever urban spoon review.

Such a shame. I have never reviewed anything before but I have been so disappointed by this place that I just had to. It was once great but is now staffed by a bunch of clowns who have no idea when it comes to cooking food or providing any type of customer service. I cringed watching the way they handled the food. The portions are small and horribly overpriced. I'm struggling to find a nice thing to say ... do yourself a favour and stay away!

Great toilet. The toilet smelt fantastic; a nice coconut musk. I thought they were a bit skimpy on the chips but the rest was pretty good. The quinoa salad in particular was exquisite.

Rude staff member. Just had dinner at Fish tank, and had placed a take away order which they said they would keep under the warmer till we finished our meal, when we asked for it when we were leaving one of the staff said it was not there as he had eaten it, he was so rude and did not even apologise and said you can get your money back for it, wont be going there ever again very rude person the other staff were so nice.

Wow disappointing I have eaten hear more than 6 times and this time I am disappointed the Greek salad was a cucumber salad with nothing else no salt on the chips and oily fish. Just crap food really. The guy was very rude when I said I had tomato sauce with that he said that's $1 mate I said I paid for it already he then said fine then. Rude

It's a step up from your standard fish and chip shop and this is demonstrated clearly in the price of all menu items. Having said that the food is nice, however the staff are just plain rude. I would return based on the fish and chips but certainly not impressed by the attitude of the staff.

Still the best fish n chips in bayside, but starting to slip a bit, mainly in the burger section. Calamari and fish still great though

Epic Fail. This place does not smell 'fresh', oil needs changing, it's ridiculously expensive, and to top it off I ended up with a very upset tum after eating there. Epic fail :(

Great place! Fresh seafood, good proportions, quick turnaround. Anyone who doesnt like it is just your typical Brighton snob.
