How have I not left a review on Facebook for these guys yet?
I cannot say enough great things about Rogue, the staff are amazing, always friendly and helpful, happy to have a joke, but also very professional.
It is the little things like, bringing out your food and not having to ask who had what, the attention to how full your water is, and the genuine interest in how your food is. Nothing is too much trouble. It is obvious the staff aren’t just there to earn a pay check, they legit believe in Dan and Rach’s vision for Rogue.
The food is easily the best I have had anywhere in the world, the menu is smaller than some places, however this goes to help ensure each meal is amazing, they don’t need a big menu, you can eat the same thing every time you go and not ever be sick of it. The combination of tastes and textures is truly an art form, if Rogue had been around in 1508, Pope Julius II would have asked them to throw the food at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, instead of getting Michelangelo to paint it. Is it cheap? No, but it is fantastic value, if you want cheap go to Maccas, if you want quality, go to Rogue.
The venue itself creates a laid back vibe, while still giving you a five star feeling. I believe a lot of restaurants purposely make their chairs uncomfortable so you do not stay any longer than you need to, but at Rogue the chairs are as comfy, as the food is mind blowing.
The wait time ca be a little long, because it is so popular, my advice is book ahead, you will then have no problem getting in and starting to enjoy the mouth-watering sensation that is Rogue’s food and drink.
In short, you should probably go there, the food is yummy, and the staff are wonderful.
So impressed with this gem! Friendly staff, cosy environment and the food (dessert specifically) was to die for - tasty and creative! I would definitely recommend for special occasions. We visited for our anniversary and were given some extra special love. We will soon be back :)

I came here for my birthday dinner celebration for their degustation and I was really impressed with their food. For the price of $80 per person for a seven course meal (without matching wines), it was definitely worth it!
FOOD:
On the night, I started with a seeded baguette with a smokey whipped butter and an entree of a confit duck leg with peanut better and fennel. I then had a pan-seared scallop with potato foam and quinoa. The mains included a pork belly with parsnip and pomegranate with lamb and onion rings. Both mains were absolutely delicious and the flavour combination worked amazingly well together! A mandarin sorbet with elderflower jelly was a light palette cleanser afterwards before moving onto the dessert which was their signature dark chocolate caramel tart with mascarpone gelato. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of dark chocolate because of its richness but this dessert had everything, from the sweetness of the tart with the saltiness of the caramel along with the freshness of the gelato. This dessert had everything you could want on a plate. For drinks, I had the espresso martini ($20) and I was surprised that they gave a generous amount where the flavour had a more salty taste from the salted caramel.
AMBIANCE:
The mood of the restaurant was fantastic! It could be due to the aftermath of COVID but it was nice to have a quiet corner to ourselves in a low lighted room away from the other tables. The decor was very dark yet very modern so it created a nice mood to the environment. All staff had to wear black gloves but it suited with their dark, black aprons.
SERVICE:
The staff were all very lovely, they checked up on our meals but in a nice way (not too pushy and did not ask us every 15 mins). To me, it felt more like they were being friendly in making casual conversations while asking about how the food and everything was rather than just directly asking how the food was and then walking away immediately.
OVERALL:
I was very happy with everything. This is the best degustation I’ve had so far with how excellent the food tastes, the uniqueness and for a really good price too. I quite liked the atmosphere because it was not too noisy but you have that nice space between you and the other tables. I would recommend to try the confit duck leg, the crispy pork belly and the sticky braised lamb. I would definitely come back again :)
Very beautiful food and service! For the two of us, we were recommended to order 1 entree, 2 mains, sides and a dessert to share. For entree, we ordered the prawn and the scallops. The scallops is definitely a must! We chose the beef and salmon for mains. The karrakala from the salmon’s dish is a star. The beef with the salad is just so well-rounded. We also ordered Brussel sprouts for a side, its crunchy, sweet and savoury. But, I just felt that its the only dish that I find it difficult to finish. For dessert, we were recommended the meringue which was perfect for the warm evening. I was initially hesitant as I am not a big fan of meringue and they usually turned out to be too sweet for my palate. But, the meringue just exceeded my expectation. Very instagrammable and very tasty indeed! Overall, we will come back!
We were told about this place by friends. This was our first visit and it didn’t disappoint. The food is Michelin Star level food and the service was excellent. Will definitely go here again!

Amazing place, the food is absolutely amazing and the wait staff were really friendly and attentive.
Atmosphere is nice and cosy.
Entree we ordered were yummy, after the complimentary smoked butter and bread, my favourite was the seared scallops.
Dinner and sides were amazing as well. The eye fillet cooked perfectly for instance. My only grip is they basically have
- 3 sides for $20
- Mains at ~ $40 each
Then they offer the shared meal deal for two
- 3 sides + 3 mains for $120 ($60/person) which seems like a $20 discount - but alas isn’t - as the portions are about a third smaller
At the end of the day no issue as, the desserts really stuffed us. The citruses coconut gelato based one really cleansed the palate well.
Arrived from Sydney to celebrate hubby’s birthday. As we weren’t familiar with Brisbane, we took some wrong turns and had to change the time couple of time but they were so accommodating! Service was just awesome, attentive and friendly. Food was so so good! We demolished everything they put down.
They even wrote happy bday on the dessert platter which was very touching! The rating was consistent with the quality of the restaurant. Thank you for making the day extra special!
I usually don’t write reviews but after my experience with Rogue Bistro, I have the urge to do so. My partner and I went to this restaurant for date night for the very first time and honestly, it was probably the best food we’ve tasted in a long time. We ordered some entrees and “the ark” (bird, sheep, and vegetable). We loved all of the dishes we had ordered and we were impressed by the dish presentation as well. We did watch MKR for the past few weeks so we were so ready to be extra and find any flaws but there was literally nothing about the food we didn’t like. I think we both almost teared up after the ENTREES. On top of that, the service we had was exceptional. Ambience was cozy and romantic that night. Definitely recommend to everyone! Great for birthday dinners, dates or even just a casual day/night out with friends/family :)
I came on a rainy weekday, hoping to get a relaxing brunch. I thought the place would be lax since it’s raining hard. Boy was I wrong. The place’s totally crowded even tho it’s raining cats and dogs. The servers were really nice and friendly, giving me place to wait inside the restaurant while I was waiting to sit in.
I finally got to sit and ordered waffle with black forest and matcha cream along with matcha latte. The food came out pretty fast and it was just so pretty. The waffle’s black with dark chocolate gelato and persian floss on top of it. The matcha cream had really good matcha flavour and was not too sweet. They also added fresh cherries that gives refreshing flavour on top of the sweetness which was amazing! The presentation was really beautiful that I could not stop taking pictures of it. The portion’s also big and satisfying. The matcha latte’s also a good blend of matcha and soy milk. Overall, the place’s really worth to dine in! ☺️

I feel nervous about giving a 5 - cause it’s a big call right? Maybe it is the best meal I’ve ever had. I really can’t think of anyway it could be improved upon (apart from I should have insisted on sharing a dessert cause the dessert just pushed me over the edge of full).
Overall the food was fantastic. Looked good and tasted great. I think the thing that really nailed it was that the combos were interesting and different but not crazy and it all worked. My favourite was the cauliflower side and my husband loved the steak tartare.
The service was also great - the staff were all lovely and friendly and attentive. It feels like a special occasion but not stuffy. The prices are not outrageous for what you get (the portions are generous) and I really came away very full.
I should mention that we were virtually the only people there for most of the time which maybe isn’t a true test of the kitchen under pressure but if that’s something that’s important to you go early!
Looking forward to going back again. Another time I’d go for the “ark” deal.
Had been to Rogue a couple of times soon after they opened, and finally got back recently for a birthday dinner. A great selling point is the ease of parking in the back streets of Newstead. The ‘Ark’ menu comprises tastings of 3 mains served with 3 sides for 2 to share at $55 pp. Great value that leaves you well satisfied, but with little room for desert. Fish, cow, pig with zucchini, chips & pumpkin. Flavoursome and generous with sound kitchen skills and good presentation. Whilst it’s nothing too adventurous, the good combinations are sure fire. Wine a bit pricey yet service is attentive with glasses always being topped up. A raucous table creates some noise, and the surroundings just don’t match the heights of the food and service. Still, it’s a great experience, but perhaps it’s nearly time for a makeover, or even a new location.
We had the most amazing experience for my mums birthday at Rogue Bistro. We booked the restaurant through their website and they really catered to our dietary requirements. The food was amazing and delicious! It's the first time having such delicious food so finely crafted and delicate. The flavours were well balanced and you really do get a bit of everything. I was extremely please with the meal and and we had a fabulous time there. The staff members were also incredibly welcoming and friendly. I can't wait to go back to try their other menus.
Amazing experience at Rogue Bistro. The entrees were absolutely delicious my favourite was the cauliflower it had a beautiful combination of flavours. For mains we had roast duck, roast pork belly and squid - again all of the dishes were amazing our favourite was the pork belly it had great texture combined with great flavours.
To top it off our waiter Sam was absolutely superb, he provided some great banter and was very knowledgeable with the food and wine menu throughout the evening.
To conclude, during our time in Queensland Rogue was the best restaurant we dined in. Definitely recommend the pairing wines to complement the food!
We had dinner here for our anniversary. The atmosphere was good, service was good, all the staff were nice.
The warm cocktail brew my mind, it was the best one I have had.
Food taste really good, plating was beautiful. the prawn and pasta was a little salty and the strawberry meringue dessert was a bit too sweet to be honest, I wish it had a little sour element to it.
Over all, we were very happy, and we had a very good celebration night.
Would love to come back for different menu.
My partner and I went to Rogue Bistro for his birthday last night, and oh my goodness, I think this has been the best restaurant we have been to in Brisbane to date.
The service was impeccable, and every course delicious. Some of the dishes I was sceptical about (e.g with aniseed) but everything was well balanced and a pleasure to eat! We will definitely be adding this to the list of our favourite restaurants and will be back very soon. Thanks Rogue Bistro!

The pork belly is properly cooked and seasoned.also I love the duck with all the fresh Ingredients and vegetables. I will definitely come back to try the menu of different months.
Amazing food and service. Brought the little one even they said it would not be suitable but would make an exception. Our waiter was lovely and very accommodating.
Our dining experience was faultless at Rogue. Perfectly blended cocktails enjoyed whilst waiting to be seated, thoughtfully balanced menu of flavour profiles, textures and presentation as well as considerate and attentive service. It was the perfect place to celebrate my birthday on a Saturday evening.
