Review Corbett & Claude - Brisbane

Monique Simmons
šŸŒæ Service - 3/5 šŸŒæ Drinks - 4/5 šŸŒæ Food - 3/5 The food was average. The gnocchi definitely topped everything with its flavour. We got a few mock-tails which were very nice. The waitresses seemed lost and like they werenā€™t communicating with each other. Several of them came over and asked us the same questions.

This is unacceptable! For $110 Ubereat order. Iā€™ll wait for more than an hour. Iā€™m not expecting no sauce in the lasagna. The spaghetti marinara the fish is very fishy. The pasta is too sulky. The pizza is cold. I will not recommend this restaurant at all.

Pasta and pizza are good and reasonable price! And they have happy hour drinksā¤ļøalso the staffs are kind and friendly! mood of the restaurant is so romanticāœØI had nice time with my friends! Thanks

Nice place. Pizza was good. Salad was mediocre One waiter is serving everyone. Once I got my order I could not reach him anymore. I needed a napkin, forget it I wanted to order another drink, forget it Desert, forget it I just got up and paid the bill.

One of the employees, Javier, on Saturday was very generous and allowed my party of five to be seated despite filling in the incorrect time on the booking. Not only did he managed to do that, he was always very accommodating during his shift. Give that man a raise! The food is amazing as always and my mum thoroughly enjoyed her birthday. Thanks again Javier!

Amazing little place hidden away. Quick service, great cocktail list, dinner menu has the greatest array of pizzas. Definitely recommend.

Lovely vibe. Relaxed and romantic with helpful staff. We popped in without a booking one night after a disappointing dinner elsewhere and grabbed dessert. We really enjoyed it! The cocktails looked delicious as well. We had the Nutella and strawberry cigar. Yum!

Food was okay. Truffle gnocchi taste like it's from a packet. Halloumi Chips was good though

Must visit if you love good food. Their prawn pasta was to die for. Service was great too. Definitely order their aperol pitchers.

We visited this spot a few times for their classic oven baked pizzas ! The place is popular for their pizza oven baked pizzas - with the fresh hand made bases and fresh toppings.. We had to try them. This place is located along a main strip in the city. They are down a little side alley off the Main Street. No parking as all parking in the city is metered or blocked off. So this place is usually accessed by foot traffic.. Wouldn't be the best location to drive too.. unless you have a car park close by or stopping in if already in the city or nearby..Ā

The staff here are so lovely, very friendly and attentive. They explain everything on the menu, the specials and answer any questions you have about their menu. We ordered 2x margarita and ham & pineapple. The pizzas were good but not overly great - needed for flavours.. Lacked dough in the bases and were abit too airy and not as filling.. The pizza prices are pretty standard and priced as expected for a restaurant in the city. Abit over priced.

Must say quite disappointed in the food quality. Terrible would not recommend. Worst service.

Just say ā€œFeed Meā€ and the lovely team here will sort you out! The food was delicious and the staff were lovely!

1. Arancini (mushroom stuffed rice balls coated with crispy bread crumbs served with shaved parmesan and aioli)

2. Meat Balls (beef meatballs in a rich napoli sauce served with crusty bread)

3. Bruschetta (ripe roma tomatoes diced with garlic and fresh basil drizzled with a balsamic reduction on warm baked ciabatta bread)

4. The Side Salad (mixed leaves with shaved radish, red onion, cherry tomatoes and a splash of Italian style dressing)

5. Burnt Butter Sage Ravioli (pockets of pasta filled with truffle mushroom tossed in a butter and sage sauce)

6. Prosciutto Pizza (napoletana sauce with fior di latte mozzarella, fresh rocket, prosciutto crudo, shaved parmesan and extra virgin olive oil)

Had lunch here with a few of my work mates. I shared a panfried mushroom gnocchi and the forager pizza with a colleague and both dishes were impressive. The gnocchi was cooked to perfection, sauce was flavourful, pizza was doughy and had just the right amount of ingredients. I loooove italian food and this is easily now my one of my top restaurants. Everyone else thoroughly enjoyed their meals - the table was so quiet as soon as the food came out as everyone was just so into their meals lol. all in all, great atmosphere, friendly service and definitely amazing value for lunch!!!

Perfect place for a gathering of friends to have a drink and share some food. I do wish they would bring back the farmers burger but I will hopefully survive. Pizza, Calzone, Hollumi Fries are some of my favourites

Delicious!! Mozzarella sticks and caprese salad to start, so good! The crumb on the mozzarella sticks were seasoned perfectly and the caprese salad was so fresh. Followed by The Forager pizza. Delicious pizza crust, plenty of mushrooms and really fragrant truffle oil on top.

Very warm and inviting dining room and the staff were so lovely and attentive. Delicious food! Canā€™t wait to come back again.

Amongst the top Italian place In Brisbane CBD. They offer a wide variety of Pasta and Pizza along with a few entree dishes. During the lunch hour they have some deals too like pizza along with a drink for 20$.

We Ordered
šŸ“Spaghetti Gamberi
šŸ“Mr C Fried Chicken

Simplicity and the fragnance was distinct in the Gamberi.

The fried chicken was very ordinary in My view.

Hospitality was a top class and the staff put in loads of efforts to give you a top Experience.

Not sure why this place is so busy. Terrible service and really bad food pizza was undercooked and pasta tasted like it came out of a packet. Would not recommend!
Always Hungry
My partner and I came here for a quick pre-show meal and it was really nice. The food came out quickly, both pizzas were yummy and so were the cocktails. It was reasonably busy for a Tuesday night but I'm sure it gets packed on the weekends.
Now my new lunch hour favourite place. Their lunch specials are excellent value. Service was a bit of a hit and miss. But they were super busy. Without booking we were very lucky to get a seat. We got their famous haloumi fries and their pepporini pizza. Pizza was huge and their pizza base was super crunchy and light. Loved the location and the restaurant had has a lovely vibe. We will be back.

The placeā€™s a bit tricky to find because the Google Maps kinda throw us off, so we have to rely strictly on the address. After we found the place, we also kinda got confused where to get into since the address pointed us at a building and turns out the doors to the restaurant was located on the side of the building.

However, itā€™s a great place to hang out with good ambience. The service was fast and nice. We ordered Prosciutto Funghi pizza and Spaghetti Gamberi. The pizzaā€™s pretty salty due to the hams, but it was good level of saltiness. The pizzaā€™s also has nice mouthfeel to it. The pastaā€™s also pretty simple and nice, as long as you didnā€™t bite the chillis (which I did šŸ˜‚). They gave us lots of prawns and the tomatoes added refreshing flavour. Itā€™s quite nice place to chill and hang out. The vibeā€™s great and the foodā€™s nice šŸ˜Š

We had a milestone birthday party at Corbett &Claude last night. We were totally impressed with the service and food.
C&C offered us the private cafe room where we can enjoy the quality night! Beautiful room with a giant world map wall at the background!
The complimentary drink for the birthday girl was AMAZING!!! Beautiful Pink Paloma Palpitations - something you must try there!

Thank you, Corbett & Claude. You have made the night really special for me and us!!

Was very pleasantly surprised by the dining experience. Wonderful staff and menu. Went with the feed me all you can eat option and it was absolutely worth it. $39 per person and endless food. Everything served was fantastic. The mozzarella and haloumi fries, the pizzas and especially the carbonara. Very accommodating with dietary requirements. Found the calamari a little tough and didnā€™t love the tirimasu, the brownies however were fantastic. Definitely recommend.

Amazing place for a good italian in CBD.Limited selection of pasta and Gnocchi sorenntina is highly recommended.Pizza was good and staff recommended us to try cigar pizza, which was upto the expectations.Friendly staff and place with good ambience.

Always slick and delectable Italian. Robust atmosphere and mouthwatering food. Best dishes for me are the creamy mushroom gnocchi and margherita pizza. Add lashings of chilli oil and truffles. Best Italian in Brisbane CBD.

After several weeks of coffee consumption, my girlfriend finally accumulated enough loyalty points to get two free pizzas. As luck would have it, it also aligned with their new menu launchā€¦ lets do it :). If youā€™ve been following these for a while it should be obvious that she orders, espresso martini. For myself I went with a nice and sweet strawberry fields mocktail to combat the warmer weather, and it worked a treat.

Dined here with a group of 10 for dinner on Sunday night. As soon as we were seated we were told that they were short staffed and that there would be a wait with food;this was very appreciated. We ordered a range of pastas including the Bolognase, creamy mushroom and pizzas included the forager. The pastas were only average but serving sizes generous. The pizzas on the other hand were amazing! Pizza bases were soft, crispy and fresh and toppings were generous - loved the truffle flavour. Despite being understaffed, food came out quickly and service was friendly. We also got a Dimmi voucher which made it 50% off. Overall a great dining experience, would happily return!

Corbett & Claude is located in a laneway off Elizabeth Street. As you enter you walk downstairs into a large restaurant centered around a bar. We were seated on one of those ā€˜last minuteā€™ tables; very close to the kitchen, shoved in a walkway on a tiny table on stools, which was disappointing because we had booked. The restaurant was very busy and loud (the music was way too loud), so it was not a very intimate or comfortable environment. The table service rushed and impersonal, and we had to search around for someone to process our bill.

Great restaurant for a casual dinning experience. Dishes are tasty however service is really lacking and a let down for this restaurant.Ā

Portion sizes are small and the pasta is a little underwhelming. We ordered two mains of gnocchi which is already gluten free. The addition of chicken to the creamy mushroom pasta left me trying to find the chicken in the dish. All in all I was able to locate two small pieces of chicken. The mushroom which formed a key ingredient within the dish was dry, bland and burnt. The halloumi addition to the pesto pizza was also quite poor. It was dry and overcooked. You could be forgiven for thinking that the gnocchi was packeted and note made fresh.Ā

However, the pizzas are superb and this is probably what most should choose from when attending this restaurant as opposed to pasta which does not appear to be itā€™s forte.

This is where the disappointing service kicks in though. We were asked for last drinks and as we had just finished our meals we were looking over the drinks list to decide. Within about a couple of minutes at best we were ready to go and called over the waiter to take our orders. We were advised that the bar had closed about 15 minutes ago and indeed the last drinks round we were told was not even accurate.

Prices are cheap though and the general ambience and decor of the restaurant is great.

I arrived at dusk.Half cut, and ready for a mischief. What I was greeted with is something my grandchildren will tell theirs...My close associate Grant was particularly skeptical and vocal of his concerns, "what time do they take of the clothings" he exclaimed.Ā The wine began flowing and went down like Facebook Shares after the Cambridge Analytica scandal.First up was the non negotiable intro of Chicken bites - a stroke of tactical genius. They were succulent to the point of exhaustion. The sweetness of the griggio palpitated my pallet as the flamboyant, divine Italian beautyĀ shook back and forth the cocktail mixtures as if the atmosphere was a pasta dish being seasoned with lust.Next up was the pizzas, I distinctly remember the outrage of my colleagues as we scanned through the menu at the names of the options, clearly disappointed with the titles as they related to the working class as oppose to dominant, prestigious names. This false rhetoric was soon gone when we sunk our teeth into star studded slices of 'The Farmer'.Our scheduler/road manager/ accountant David (daahved) was nearly forcefully contained as he refused to discontinue he loud an intrusive proclamations that the food was colossal and revolutionary. Throughout the night this obnoxious sentiment was echoing though the air like German political propaganda in 1942 Munich.Ā
That is how good the texture and flavor was during the affair.I would like to show my gratitude and appreciation for the meal that gave us all an outer body experience.

We went during the lunchtime rush and were advised while we were ordering that the wait on pizzas would be 20 mins. I like that they told us about the delay, even though it ended up being over half an hour before we got our food.
They advised having a starter whilst we waited, so we ordered halloumi chips & they arrived 30 minutes later with one pizza. The other pizza arrived another 5 mins later. The water we ordered never arrived.
The service people are lovely, but as it was busy service was slow. The food is fine and the alcoholic ginger beer was outstanding.
I like the fact you can book a table.
The Dear Luncher
Can you dig it? A pizza cigar. Cigar pizzas? Corbette and Claude's reputation for pizza finery meant that the expectations were high. The Dear Luncher found their regular pizzas to be good. Not mind blowing, but good. A little on the sloppy side with the toppings. The big redeemer of the night however is the pizza cigars mentioned earlier. A glorious cheese filled cylinder, oozing with luscious cheese. Cheese. Delightful.

The Ć©ntree options, such as the curly chorizo fries and the fries also resulted in nodding heads across the entire table of diners. TheĀ $39Ā feed me options is superb all you can eat value. The pizzas just kept coming. Service outstanding.
Arrived there and were shown to our table. We sat down and waited a further 20 minutes to try and be served. Every single time we tried to get the attention of a waiter we were walked straight passed and not even acknowledged. We finally ordered our drinks, but as there was no sign in them coming, we decided to order food. The same problem of trying to get the attention of a waiter occurred. Finally, we were asked rudely if we were even going to order food in which I replied, yes we would love to but we have been trouble trying to get the attention of someone to take our order. Our food came but no sign of our drinks. This was my 18th birthday dinner and I had ordered my first alcoholic beverage. We got through 3/4 of a meal before the drinks came. There was no apology or empathy. We were just told abruptly that there were a lot of drinks to be made. It is safe to say that this appalling customer service ruined my 18th birthday and it is a shame because the food tasted great. As someone who also works in a restaurant as a waitress I was very disappointed. My friends and I came out of the restaurant feeling like crap, from belittling comments and snobby body language from the staff. It is safe to say that I will never be coming here again as I believe should ever feel and treated like this, especially on their birthday.

The BEST pizza and cocktails. The service is amazing and the over all vibe groovy. We'll be returning very soon, got two complimentary cocktail vouchers also!!

After a bad experience I had at Corbett & Claude the manager got in touch with me and kindly invited me to come back in order to apologize for the inconvenience.

And I must say, if the food I had there today is the standard and what they are thriving to offer I'm definitely impressed.

Today I had the botanist pizza with vegan cheese instead of the mozzarella and feta, the gnocchi with tomato sauce and the goddess salad with avocado instead of feta.

The botanist pizza offered me a completely different experience from the previous visit when I had the margherita, perfectly seasoned with plenty of cheese and pumpkin that melts in the mouth with fresh rocket on top. I would rate it a 4.5 out of 5.

The gnocchi again was amazing but rather a bit too simple since there wasn't a vegan option to substitute the meat from the dish. Still the tomato sauce tasted fresh and again was perfectly seasoned and we enjoyed every bite. Would rate it a 4 out of 5.

The goddess salad, I never imagined such a simple salad could be so yummy. Plenty of cranberries (maybe a little bit too much) that would explode in flavour when eaten with the quinoa and pumpkin seeds, perfect amount of olive oil and lots of avocado. Would rate it again a 4 out of 5.

Overall I must say today I was a happy customer and don't want to repeat myself but was impressed with not only the food but also the service provided. Thanks Krzysztof Grabara for an amazing meal!

I have been here a few times as itā€™s near my work. They used to have good specials for pizza and a drink for $20 but itā€™s not there anymore. The pizza is really tasty and unfortunately that is all I have had. Nearly all the pizzas! They have cocktail specials from 5-7 so Iā€™ll be back to try the cocktails and gnocchi dish!

Underwhelming food but great customer service. I went here with my friend a few days ago and was underwhelmed by the food. However, the customer service was amazing and our waitress was very helpful especially when it came to our picky dietary requirements. Went out of her way to make sure what we ordered was egg free. We got gluten free flat bread and pizza and it was surprisingly good for gluten free, but as soon as it cooled down it got soggy. The pizza was okay, we got the veggie patch. They needed to grill the zucchini more and add more seasoning as it was a little soggy and bland. The dips were really nice and flavourful, nothing to critique there. The Starter we got, halloumi with peach chutney was really good however the portions was really stingy, only two (small) pieces of halloumi for $8? Also, the peach chutney tasted just like tomato sauce when you close your eyes. Finally the creamy mushroom gnocchi was very over rich and tasted like cheap Kraft mac and cheese whilst also being bland and needing seasoning. My friend and I hardly made a dent in it. I'd say this is a great place for casual drinks. It has a great atmosphere and service, however if you are looking for an amazing food experience, i'd go elsewhere. Would give 2 stars for food however the service bumped up the rating for me.
Just Another Aussie In Vancouver
A great little pizza place that caters for those who can't eat gluten. Offering tasty GF pizza bases and scrumptious gluten free gnocchi. They also happily do split billing! The halloumi chips are a must try for any cheese aficionados.

Usually go here once every few weeks. Some dishes are great and others are average. The goddess salad was tasty though a little bit spinach heavy and didn't get much chicken for paying $5 extra. The service was pretty good, but our waiter was distracted. The ambience is really cool though and the noise cancellation project has really worked to quiet things down.
Snowden Tapper
Chilli mojito is great... The Director pizza, not so much.

Good atmosphere though, would come again just wouldn't order that pizza ever again.
Caity
service was great but GF pizza was average (not so tasty and needed to be cooked for longer). would go back to give it a second chance though by trying another base !
P7ucas71
Not sure what it is with Brisbane and everything having to be healthy but hey, I'll bite. Pizzas were tasty and the bases were spot on. I loved the underground location and I reckon it's a real achievement that it doesn't feel dingy despite that. Prices are cheap for what you get, especially in the city. Worth a look for sure.
Kimbo Slice
Great place for a group lunch, we usually order pizzas and sides to share. My last visit though, I tried the mushroom gnocchi and loved it! Was a generous portion and really delicious.
Thefoodie
I ordered the gnocchi with chicken. It was obvious that the tomato sauce used was from a tin and not made from scratch, sour and underseasoned. The gnocchi was also packet gnocchi. The chips and fried polenta chips were acceptable. Average food with a cool decor.
Danelle Lim Yun
The service was good. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the food. The garlic bread was overly greasy. In fact, it was one of most oily garlic breads I've ever had. The pizzas were pretty average. I wouldn't come back again.
Chris
Good place for a beer / wine (plenty of interesting stuffy by the glass) and pizzas are pretty good - nice thin salty base and some topping combos out of the ordinary. Also do some specials mid week worth checking out. Good staple.
Hannah K
Average food but great ambience for a Sunday afternoon drinks and tapas. The pizza portions were on the small side for the price you paid although the tapas and plates to share were substantial.
Edibleflower1000
Have been wanting to try this bad boy for a lonnnnnggg time ! Finally we made it. Friday night, it was prime dinner time so of course pretty busy and pumpin. Only found the place because the name was being projected on the wall in the alley. It was quite dark but a nice vibe, kind of felt like a secret club in a way. Thought it was a little confusing as there was no counter to be served or seated so walked around looking for someone who could help us. Anyway sat down, had s nice waitress come and serve us asked about the specials and she said "you have got to subscribe", so that's what we did. Ordered the chips (yummy), the CFC pizza, tomato basil gnocchi which was more tomato than anything but beautiful pillow gnocchi. And received the chicken bites as a special for $5, they were pretty delish. Overall it was good they split the bill for us which is always a bonus :) will be back!
Kams47
Went there for the first time on Sunday lunch at Garden City. The majority of us had pizzas, which weren't very tasty, rather bland. I think the pizzas needed some fresh and dried herbs on them to at least give them some flavour. Overall a rather average dining experience.
Anna Belle
Have only had the coffee (numerous times) and the pizza and both were amazing! Friendly service and quick turn around of your morning coffee.

Had a Groupon dinner last night. Unlike its siblings, the entrance is set at low profile style, therefore you will easily miss the door if walk up from Myer Centre direction heading toward the Riverside. Walked in 10 minutesĀ prior toĀ my time of reservation. We were led to theirĀ allocated table and was told that the rest of tables had been reserved even though we requested to change the table (That is a common problemĀ for so many restaurants that they would not allow you to change their allocated table even you are one of the diners who alsoĀ makes the reservation.) At the end, there are still many vacantĀ tables availableĀ after we finished and paid the bill. Service was slightly too rush and all the dishes came all together very quick and were packedĀ on the top of ourĀ small round table. We ordered a bowl of chips, crispy chicken bites, meat and cheese broad, "Cigars" and a bowl of salad with two drinks. Honestly, taste of food was good, however I did not feel comfortable to enjoy my meal. Overall, the "Cigars" is interesting because it was the first time that I had rolled pizza. Chicken bites were good too because they use not only chicken breast but also thigh portion. Having said that, if I do not have a coupon deal, I would not spend nearly $100 for that sort of meals.....Sorry!
Mea
Had the Groupon voucher and we did book about a day before we went but things come up and they were nice enough to help us change it to another day and on the day we have ordered the cheeseboard, the waffles and two drinks. The cheeseboard was tasty and the waffles were sweet for my taste but overall a good experience
F
I ordered the marinara tomato and herb linguine, fig and prosciutto pizza, the farmer pizza and the 'goddess' salad.

The salad was plain and was sprinkled with some superfoods and kale. It was small so i dont think it could be a single person's meal but rather just a side. Not something i would order again.

I liked the linguine ! The seafood tasted fresh, pasta cooked well and the sauce was flavourful.

My favourite pizza out of the two was the fig. It had the savoury side of the prosciutto ham, the sweetness of honey, and 'fresh' taste of fruit ! It was something new and something i would want to introduce to other people.
However the pizzas were poorly cut which made it a little difficult while sharing.

I liked the atmosphere; quiet and hidden outside but suddenly lively inside.

Ive seen some amazing photos of the bar here, will be coming back soon !!
Anna
One of the worst service experiences! When the food arrived I had to get up and go to the bar to ask for plates, we were a table of 4 but they only brought over 2 plates, the rest were "still drying". We sat for 30 minutes before I asked someone to clear the table, no one asked if we wanted more drinks, we had no water and the wait staff were more interested in chatting to each other. Give it a miss!

We visited Corbett & Claude last night on a coupon deal. Think it was $50 credit for $25. We actually changed our booking from 6pm to 8.30pm as we had guests earlier. Sorry we changed as the place was really full at this time & very noisy (it is a bar so has to be expected) We were seated almost straight away so thumbs up there. Have to say, the food, although simple was good. Well mine was- I had a pizza which was exactly as I like them with a light airy crust with charred edges & as I chose the green veg one, was a tasty & healthy topping. (I was having an unhealthy evening due to excessive alcohol!) Partner had the gnocchi which he said was rather gluggy & sticky. Trio of dips was passable. We wanted to pay with cash at the end of the evening for the extras we ordered & were informed only credit cards. Staff were really great & service was pretty fast considering how packed they were
Elle
The chips I ordered here are probably the best I have had in Brisbane - not greasy for a change, and had just the right amount of seasoning. The two pizzas I shared with my friends had a big flavour and tasted great. The service was good too. I would definitely recommend coming here but it can be a little difficult to find as it is tucked in an alleyway.

A bar and eatery, situated in an historic building where the high ceilings give a good space for groups to gather. The menu concentratesĀ on pizza with other snack/share dishes. Craft beers, fine wines and artisan ciders abound and there is a good range available - served in jam jars and stemless wine glasses of course. We tried the pizza and salads (with meatballs) and had flavoursome dishes to try while conversing. Salads and pizza had the obligatory super-foods such as quinoa and kale.Ā I enjoyed in particular the beetroot and carrot with pine-nuts and inca berries. Drink and table service was good as was the coffee. PaymentĀ can be handled individually via credit card so no complex calculations were required. A nice experience overall although the higher end of moderately priced.

Pizza: C
Drinks: B
Service: F
Venue: D

Overall: 1 out of 10

Notes: The wait for a cocktail was half an hour. They ran out of ice, then liquor. Pizza had toppings that didn't go well. Venue was poorly air conditioned. The private dining room was stinking hot. Due to lack of preparedness, they closed two hours early.

Food we tried: many pizzas, many drinks.

Lunch with my regular Friday Lunch Date took us to Corbett & Claude. Not for the first time, it's one of our favourites. My main complaint would have to be that I loved the first pizza I had here and so have never tried anything else. The Farmer is my go-to choice which is crispy chicken, BBQ sauce, onion and very slightly spicy aioli. Friday Lunch Date veered from tradition and ordered The Cigar (he usually has The Farmer too). The Farmer is as always delish, has the right amount of ingredients to make each bite tasty, crust is puffy and slightly crispy but I usually leave most of it there. The Cigar is basically a calzone but has a rustic crust that makes it an above average style of calzone (not soggy). Great beers on tap and I love the glasses they are served in. Love the efficiency of ordering and service, no cash, eftpos only. It is always busy (when I've been there at least), yet they have never failed to seat us and our meals always come quickly. Will remain a fave, maybe one day I will try something else on the menu!

We went for a lazy Sunday night dinner, it wasn't my very busy which meant we could sit where we liked & enjoy dinner in relative quiet.
The staff were friendly, happy to answer questions & the food was good.
We ordered a wine & a beer an entree & a pizza to share - the CFO. The pizza was delicious (we ordered the gluten free (gf) base) however the topping was a bit haphazard & not evenly spread over the base, as was the cutting, some pieces were huge others were really tiny. Apart from this the pizza was really quite nice.
I find it annoying that it is a $4 surcharge for gf but I hope this means they have a separate gf pizza oven for cooking these pizzas.
All up dinner was $60 which I thought was a touch on the expensive side but the food was good & the service good. We would go back despite the slightly higher price.
Excellent food, fast service, nice atmosphere and pretty good value. We eat out a lot and this place is one of the best. Credit where credit is due!

If i wanted a saggy piece of toast with sloppy toppings on 45% of the toast then this is the spot! But let the disappintment begin when you recieve an enormous box, within which is contained a large pizza which could fit comfortably on a regular dinner plate.
Ash M
I have been here three times and each time it has been great. Amazing pizza and pasta, and great service. Would definitely recommend the "farmer" and "director" pizza, or the tomato gnocchi + prawns + tomato sauce!!

My latest trip to C&C in the CBD completed my visit to all three of the restaurant. I have to admit I like this one in the city best out of all of them. The place is tucked away in a little laneway off Elizabeth St. We walked straight passed it the first try cause it's a bit hidden especially when you come from the Queen St direction. The restaurant has pub feels to it. It is half-way underground with a huge bar in the center, dimmed light, and wooden tables.

We ordered two pizzas and a few drinks. Pizzas were great. The pizza base was different from the one I had few days prior at Garden City. This tasted almost like sourdough bread which was really amazing. We loved the mushroom and feta, and you can't really go wrong with the Four Cheese nor Espresso Martini.

All in all, it was a great night with a great vibe. We are bringing more friends next time.
Nikki Rose Baker
C&C sure know how to Pesto. Both their Pesto Pizza and Pesto Pasta are on point.
I love the option to add additional toppings on your pizzas.

Visiting from Melbourne and was looking for good takeaway pizza. Glad I found this place. Very cool restaurant with lovely interiors. Really comfy feeling. Staff were really friendly and helpful. I got a takeaway pizza and sweet potato chips. Margherita pizza ($18) plus salami (add $4) was great - thin base, fresh toppings, cooked well, really tasty. Sweet potato chips ($9) were good, but would probably be better dining in. Took a while for my food to be ready, but I didn't mind. I recommend their pizza, would love to return.
Bianca Bachman
The pizza was fantastic; we ordered the cfo and it was delicious! However, the flatbread with housemade dips was underwhelming. The flavour of the dips were mediocre- nothing really stood out which left my tastebuds dissatisfied. The waiters were friendly, but hard to get hold of. All in all, it was a pleasant place and experience.

Heya meant to do this sooner we were there the other night and were looked after by an Andrew Great knowledge great service really friendly will come back just for him and combine with food and its a great place to go thanks Andrew for a great night
Jose Alexander Louis
The ambience of the place was great and the food was also delicious. We ordered meatballs which i recommend to everyone eating here, the gnocchi also good. The pizza was meh not that bad but not that good either.
Just one problem, the payment cannot be in cash and needed a credit card

Come here a bit for work lunches cause it's got something for everyone. Salads are always great (for those endlessly harping on about calories and diets) and pizzas perfect for sharing (for the remainder). Lunch special today was $15 pizza with any drink purchase so a prosciutto & fig, a super greens and a veggie patch all went down. Happy days.

Staff are friendly and accommodating. On occasion they've been kind enough to give us the private dining room for no good reason - sweet!

My only quibble is I'll need premature hearing aids if I keep going here - noisy much?! What?! Huh?! At least it's always buzzing. Just smile and nod....šŸ˜€šŸ‘

From beginning to end a great experience. Food and wine and service so good. We ordered our two for one drinks as it was happy hour. Next came the warm olives with rosemary and the focaccia with three dips- olive, pesto and beetroot.,, delicious. I ordered the super greens pizza and my partner had the salad with added chicken. Water is available at a table nearby. We paid at the end- no cash/ only eftpos. Great place for quick and delicious meals.

Yum and yum! The waiters were really friendly and fun and while a little loud the venue was great. Great spot after work to have a drink and a quick eat with friends or in our case a cheeky midweek date. Hubby picked me up (read dragged me out) from my desk with a red rose and a stones throw away was this cute joint. I wanted to do 50/50 on a pizza but they don't do half half. Bit sad. So instead of compromise we got two pizzas and some halloumi to share. We demolished my potato, prosciutto and rosemary pizza and ate half of hubbies top paddock. Loved the halloumi, loved the potato pizza but the overly sweet BBQ sauce let down hubbies choice. Either way we both won and will definitely be back. Thanks for a great cheeky mid week and very convenient date :)

What a great find this place was. Loved so many things about this restaurant. Decor and atmosphere was wonderful, I felt like I was in a beautiful industrial type subway with a touch of an Italian mother's influence. I love the size of the tables because it allows for more intimate conversation and you don't feel like you need to raise your voice to be heard.

The food was gorgeous - haloumi with peach muscatel chutney and housemade meatballs to start, prosciutto & fig pizza for me, linguine pesto pasta with chicken for him and mini nutella calzones with honey and walnut ice cream and sprig of mint to finish. For drinks, I had a glass of moscato and a house lager for my partner. Our waiter Andrew was the coolest guy out - his recommendations were spot on and all the staff there are so friendly and genuine.

If I had to be nit picky, the restaurant was really warm and it wasn't at full capacity so if it was a little cooler, it would have been more comfortable. Also, with the haloumi starter, there are only 2 slices of haloumi - a couple of extra slices with a touch more of the chutney would have been perfect. For the size tables that they have, plates that fit comfortably without overcrowding would have been nice but that is only from observing a table of diners next to us who had to ask for an additional table to be pushed together with theirs. Otherwise, it was relaxed with simple but incredible food (good sized portions), awesome service and well priced. Highly recommend!

Firstly I would like to say a big thankyou to Andrew for your great hospitality tonight, thankyou for the laughs. Perfect location. clean, quiet and melbourne like atmosphere. House larger was very sweet but nice, haloumi is great, amazing meatballs, prosciutto and fig with the addition of honey pizza and linguine chicken pesto pasta was absolutely fantastic. Good price for couples dinner. I really wanted to give it a 5 but felt the lighting was a tad to dim and temp was a bit to warm. Pros far outweigh to cons. Would absolutely go back here for a meal and a beer anytime.

Cool fit out. I really like the atmosphere of the place and the different seating options available. The food was simple but tasty. Am keen to come back and try out the drinks menu.

Went after work with colleagues, there was no one in the restaurant when we arrived for our booking at 6. We first sat down to order and starting having a chat, as you do, but then the waiter starting making some awkward/rude remarks to us, such as "going to get anything to eat sometime tonight guys". Well yes, we have a group of 12 and we just came straight for work. I couldn't understand the rush since the place literally had no one in it. Better yet, when we ordered we wanted to knock an item off our order and change it to something else but the waiter insisted that we keep the old order and simply add to it. It wasn't just a suggestion as well, he was basically trying to force us to order things we didn't want. One of my colleagues even said "wow pushy" as a joke and he just stared at her with an unimpressed face.Ā

We eventually managed to order and the service from the rest of the staff was great. When food was served the same rude waiter then placed our pizza on the wrong side of the table in front of someone. Ā He later took it off that person Ā who had thought is was their order (and had started eating it) and it moved it to our side of the table (half eaten) without saying anything. It was extremely awkward. Probably the most awkward thing that I've ever experienced in a restaurant. He didn't even apologize or say what the pizza was when he initially put it down.Ā

Apart from that the food was great. Really enjoyed the pizza. Atmosphere was nice, chilled, only a few other people in the restaurant as it was a Monday night.Ā Not sure if I would go again, but the only reason the experience wasn't good was because of that older male waiter.Ā
I might go again, but I'd only eat/stay if he isn't there.

What a great place, tasty food and great friendly service. We ordered pizza with some spicy olives and of course could not resist the desert.... Felt very well looked after and very satisfied with flavours and portions. We will be back šŸ˜ŠšŸ‘šŸ»

Corbett & Claude is super cool. Perhaps even a little too cool? Not sure! The food was good, I tried the pulled pork pizza and found it to be enjoyable. The place was very busy for a Friday lunch and I think the service staff struggled a little. Notwithstanding, the place was buzzing - I would definately try again.

Corbett & Claude has clearly worked hard in being a trendy and upbeat bar, with a moderate degree of success. There is a decent selection of beers and wines available accompanied by several share platters, pastas and pizzas. However, upon entering, you will immediately notice the terrible acoustics in the room which is essentially one large chamber of reverberating noise. The sound of other tables was so significant that it was difficult to converse throughout our entire time despite being in the private dining room. The food was mostly good with the exception of the consultant pizza which was quite bland. Also, without exception the pizzas had sparse toppings and large crusts. Despite this the staffing was friendly and attentive and checked in multiple times, and the salads were interestingly flavoured and garnished.

The name may not suggest it, but Corbett & Claude serves up Italian meals in a great location hidden away from the busy street. The pizzas can be customised with plenty of additions too. We had 'The Farm' which had fried chicken and added roquette for only $1. Loved thus pizza, it had a nice crunch to it and the flavours were great. We were in a chicken mood do ordered the fried chicken bits as an entree which were fantastic. A must order! The service was attentive and friendly too, I'd happily come back!

Super friendly service which is the first plus. Then there's is the delicious fooooood. So we ordered the super greens pizza which had a yummy cheese and pesto base. The peas worked well but I'm a little unsure about how well the snow peas go on it. We also had a meatball creamy mushroom linguine. The meatballs melt in your mouth and the sauce is pure naughty & nice. The one negative of the experience was that my toilet had run out of paper! Bummer.

Great restaurant. Has a real Melbourne feel for it a something Brisbane needs. Pesto Pizza was amazing, Cool, interesting salads that are great and brilliant beer and cocktail list. Best of all the service was brilliant. Highly recommend!

Nice little restaurant in the city. Down an unassuming alley way, I don't think you'd stumble upon it if you weren't looking for it because it's easy to miss. Very good service. The pizza was okay, a little dry and could have used more sauce. The cocktail we had was nice though

Working in the city often means that one is inundated with choices when it comes to lunch. Often after being spoilt for choice for an extended period of time, laziness tends to dictate where I dine. That is why we decided to just head downstairs to Corbett & Claude, situated in an alleyway behind Elizabeth Street when I forgot my lunch. Since my getting a coffee at Mr Claude, this review has indeed been long overdue.

We enjoyed a quiet dinner Tuesday night. The wait staff were friendly and amazingly memorised the menu! We got the merchant pizza, chicken gnocchi with a side of chips. The food was disappointing , the pizza was dry with the toppings lacking flavour. The gnocchi tasted packaged. The chips were the highlight, crispy and flavoursome! The beers were great and we enjoyed the service and gorgeous venue.

Baked Bean, Chilli and Cheese Jaffle - what a time warp to the 90's! Loved it! All the usual suspects for small snack type breakfast food (yoghurt, banana bread, toasted sandwiches). Allpress coffee, something that is few and far between in Brisbane. Dudes behind counter vey chilled and can make a good coffee. Cool decor, a bit tough to find but worth it once you do.

I had the pesto pasta here for a cheeky lunch with a mate and it was brilliant. Ā I mean, brilliant. Ā The staff are really friendly - and if you're in the mood for an iced coffee in the morning, the baristas in the cafe section are amazing. Ā You do pay for it and the acoustics of the room don't make for the easiest conversation - but if you're all about taste, give this place a go!

Pizzas done right. Thin and crispy and delicious. Like the concept bar and the supplying local beers on tap. Can get a bit noisy Friday nights, understandably so. Gladys Chang, Abish Musthafa

My friend and I will never go back. For lunchtime in the city, service was really, really slow (and we even went a little before 12 to avoid the rush).I chose one of the vegetarian pizzas - cold (from the fridge cold) toppings! Weird and not really tasty. The pizza base was good though. My friend chose a salami pizza which came lathered with their home-made tomato sauce and not much else.Venue is not suitable for quiet conversations as the acoustics are terrible. The place was not even full and we could not hear ourselves at all! When we asked to get our pizzas to take away, the manager/owner said we could move into theĀ "lounge" (in the same room, just different seating andĀ not comfortable to eat a pizza). ThenĀ the stool thatĀ my friend was seated on broke while she was seated on it. Thankfully she was not hurt. Again, we were attended to by the manager/owner, who swore while asking if my friend was ok. No offer of the pizza on the house, even just for my friend!! Crap hospitality.

I was really impressed by the pizzas as Corbett and Claude. Definitely filling but the toppings are so fresh and delicious. I will definitely be back to try other dishes.

cocktails were sensational and the service was excellent but really really bumped that my $14 gnocchi w creamy mushroom sauce only had 4 thinly sliced mushrooms which accumulated up to just 1 white button mushroom and lacked sauce. friend who ordered a pesto linguine also found that the dish needed more pesto and lacked seasoning! such a great location and atmosphere, hope feedbacks are being taken seriously on the food because I would love to come back!

service is poor - slow. even when we were staring at the waiters they just ignored us and continued talking. food service slow too....don't come here if you have an hour's lunch.
Koa
Monday lunch and they'd run out of beetroot, no paleo alternative for my manager - he wasn't too happy. On the other hand, my creamy mushroom and prawn gnocchi was amazing!
Rachel Sheppard
Food was decent and the service was quite fast. Only issue was that the music was ridiculously loud. I can understand if it were just a bar, but they are also a restaurant and it was very off putting not being able to hold a conversation over dinner and having to shout our food orders to the waiter.

Food was good. Service was poor.

Wine was spilt all over us and we were offered nothing above a refill of the spilt glass.

Meanwhile a nearby table complained about their cheese platter size (the same as ours). They were lavished with attention, an extra cheese platter & free vouchers.

We thought that by not making a fuss we were being amenable but we were ignored and made to feel like 'damp' unvalued customers.

Newly established eatery in an alley way off Elizabeth Street, C&C has a brand spanking new chic interior that is simply beautiful. The best thing about C&C is that it is card only, no cash! How good and how easy for when splitting bills! My friend Kate and I had a salad special each. Nice and refreshing, the salads were tasty and creative. The quinoa, coconut, rocket, and chicken salad was great, perhaps a little like would have been a great kicker though! Otherwise a pleasurable experience that will definitely allow me to come back.

Lunch. What a delightful treat. There was something about the space that was reminiscent of CUMULUS INC. in Melbourne. The wait staff were exceptionally friendly and not just superficial courtesy. The menu was exciting for what it was - the salads were above the mundane and the pizza range looked interesting (although limited, it was almost idea for a mid week lunch by not having too many options or complications). We had the rice salad special and a pineapple & prosciutto pizza between two of us. (Was sceptical because pineapple on pizza is a kind of wrong in my personal preference book - but this actually worked!). I'm looking forward to going back. Coffee we had was good. Will investigate more. Ā

It's all about expectations. It does't feel pretentious - it was casual enough to be lunching with a 'mate,' but exciting enough to supersede the kitsch CBD options with a bit of style.Ā

We were a walk-in so were at a communal table - which wasn't a problem for us. If you want an intimate lunch for two, maybe book.

Checked out this joint this morning and had a cold drip. It wasn't bad but it was small and in a plastic cup a-la maccas. I'd be keen to go back and try a cappuccino as the place was packed and that's usually a good sign.

Brisbane's laneways are getting busier with the opening of Corbett & Claude in the basement of heritage-listed Telecommunications House, adjacent to St Stephen's Cathedral. This building stared life in 1907 as the headquarters and clubrooms for the Commercial Travellers Association of Queensland, a pre-internet time when commercial travellers were an important part of retailing in early Queensland.Ā They travelled all over the colony with samples and taking orders to clients.
