we ordered the mixed entree (to share), masaman curry and chicken/vegetable stir fry. All four items on the mixed entree were delicious with authentic Thai flavours and the mains were also very good. Service was helpful and friendly. This is top shelf Thai food and we will go back anytime.
Mid week dinner. Pleasant staff and we didn't have to book. Extensive menu, we had cashew chicken and beef massaman curry. Both meals were beautiful and the beef was so tender. Will definitely be back.
We noticed this restaurant recently in our locality. Decided to try it out for dinner. It was a Sat night & they were busy despite being rather late in the evening. No wonder the food was just beautiful! Typical home style Thai cooking, the tom yum soup deliciously sour & hot packed with vegetables. My vegetarian pad thai was just bang on , all those delicious spices blending together subtlety. Star dish was the partner's pork, three large mounds melted in the mouth very quickly!
Came here with a friend for dinner on Sunday night. Friendly, quick service, even though it was getting busy with dine in and takeaway orders. Chicken larb was nice - not overly spicy. Lotus chips are amazing. Some interesting options on the menu, including quinoa... Highly recommend.
Looking for a casual locally online located Banana Leaf. It was sat night BUSY staff v friendly menu comphrensive food excellent would return
Every new place I travel, I get drunken noodle. Hands down, this restaurant has the best drunken noodle I've ever eaten. The wait staff is friendly, the atmosphere is relaxed but smart, and the food is just like the home cookin you'd get in Thailand. :)
Whenever my partner & I are craving Thai and are out of Brisbane, we will wait until we return home as nowhere else compares to this place. We have gotten takeaway from Banana leaf every 1-2 months for the last 2 years & wish we knew about them earlier!
We have never been disappointed with the food & service and would rate 5/5 every time. My partner & I are usually too lazy to review restaurant's - but you guys deserve a big thank you for always being consistent with your food & friendly service!
I had some veggie spring rolls and the tofu pad Thai - both were good but not incredible.
They seemed to have a lot of uber eats orders which took priority over the customers in the restaurant so the service was a little bit slow but the waiters were really nice.
A nice first meal in brisbane :)
In a marketplace where bland Thai is of the standard, this venue is the exception to the rule. I've had takeaway from here before and was impressed. Has been awhile and decided to go here on a whim.
Ordered the Thai Green Curry (Chicken) and a Thai Basil Beef. Both ordered as "Thai Hot" in spice. Do not disappoint. The herbs and the freshness of everything was fanatic. They also did not skimp on the chilli. Very spicy, but good.
Highly recommended if you are fresh and flavoursome Thai cuisine with the traditional and other contemporary dishes.

We ordered two entrees, three mains and one dessert:
-soft tofu with chilli reduction paste: the cold soft tofu matches nicely with the aromatic chilli/garlic paste.
-tom yum gong (prawn): the soup served to us at room temperature, which was quite unacceptable, but after we told them I think they just pop it into the microwave to heat it up.
-Panang curry with tofu: not the usual strong flavoured Thai curry, which are usually too sweet/salty. They seem to have found the right balance to make a good curry.
-spicy fried mixed rice with tofu: good texture from the mixture of different rice, not too oily as well.
-zucchini and carrot pad Thai: I personally ordered this just out of curiosity if the zoodle is a good substitute for normal rice noodle. I would still prefer normal pad Thai.
-taro custard cake: LOVE the dessert! The glutinous black rice, whisper coconut cream and the cake goes very well! Not too sweet and hits the right spot😋
Overall this is my favourite Thai place, as the flavour is there without being too heavy in salt/oil, especially sugar (which is usually the case for Thai cuisine). Their menu offer quite a few healthier options, which is a rare find for Thai restaurants.
Waitresses were very friendly and genuine in their service.
Apart from the room temperature soup, everything was close to perfect.
One of the best Thai restaurants. Coconut rice is to die for! Super friendly staff too. It's a small place for dining in so I would advise take out. A must try for Thai food lovers.
The best Thai in the area hands down! Sooooo delicious! I love the pad thai, it is super authentic!!!
The curries are amazing. Great spot!!!!

Simply the best Thai i have had in brisbane! Service A+ as well, well done guys! The price compared to some other Thai places out there are very very competitive. Quite amazed.
We decided on this restaurant after reading the excellent reviews. They certainly weren't wrong, we arrived about 7:30 on a Sunday night with no reservation & were seated immediately. The staff were friendly & very attentive.
Sadly the Pigsy Brissy was sold out so I opted for the Sponsorship Noodles with scallops. I think I would go so far as to say this was the best Thai dish I have ever eaten in Brisbane. The flavours were perfectly balanced, the scallops beautifully cooked & the serving size just right.
We also had the beef massaman - the meat was so deliciously tender & the spice of the curry subtle but still there.
The duck curry was also a hit, the duck was well cooked & the red curry sauce punchy.
The chicken curry was just as nice as the other two - well spiced & thoughtfully served.
This may we'll be my new favourite Thai restaurant! The food is well priced, the service spot on & the restaurant is Licensed & BYO.
The reviews certainly weren't wrong, Banana Leaf is definitely the place to go for Thai in Brisbane.
Thai-ing to decide what to order at the Banana Leaf Thai restaurant is almost impossible. With their updated 2016 menu, there were so many things we wanted to try. For entree we got the Thai Herbivorous Prawns - Grilled tiger prawns, Thai herb salad, spice mayo and Thai dressing. For mains we had the The Walking Rack (Roasted herb lamb rack, grilled eggplant, fried lemongrass, zucchini strip and ginger base sauce) and the Salmon Under Cover )Baked herb salmon, sweet and spicy red sauce, baked potatoes, grilled asparagus, fried basil and cherry tomatoes).
The entree was delicious; the prawns were average but the salad and dressing really brings the dish up. The lamb main was almost perfect; the lamb was dry but it was flavoursome and the vegetables were perfection. The salmon main was cooked well and the spicy red sauce has a good kick without being overly spicy. All in all, we highly recommend this restaurant!
Visitors from Perth - Found this little Thai restaurant via Zomato & Trip Advisor - fantastic flavor some Thai - great service would recommend to all !!
We ordered take away from Banana Leaf Thai. We went into the restaurant to pick up our order and saw a lovely fitout and a completely booked out restaurant. Our food was ready promptly and the flavours in every dish were delicious and fresh. The staff were very friendly. I can't wait to dine in here. What a fantastic restaurant- we will be back!
We had satay chicken skewers, spring rolls, chilli basil chicken, beef with cashew nuts and a Penang curry. I could not pick a favourite dish as they were all yum!!Alicia
Had dinner at banana leaf. Tom yum goong was flavoursome with perfectly cooked prawns. Balance of spices was perfect. Seared scallops were well presented with alfalfa and done well. Green curry chicken was a bit sweet but flavoursome. Beef massaman was OK. Overall a nice dinner :)
Very good and uncomplicated local Thai. Well balanced flavours and excellent value for money. Great little fit out. Brings some life to an otherwise tired corner.
Overall the experience was about average. My partner and I came just before dinner rush time so there was only 1 waitress working and 1 customer who came a mere 2 seconds before we did. The service was decent but not friendly. The food was also decent however I did not feel it was great. We ordered the Prad Prih King which had a 3 chili rating however it was not even remotely spicy. The pastry of the Pork Belly Baked Pastry was overwhelming after the 3rd bite. The portions were also small for all dishes. The Satay chicken skewers were however above average and even my partner felt it was quite good. Unfortunately with the price range for food and customer service I do not think I'll be giving this place a revisit unless there was a major change.
Really great modern Thai restaurant! Nice staff and truly fresh ingredients. Grilled Prawn dishes is High recommended and also the lamb back curry.
After waiting for quite a while for our food on a Thursday night my partner and I decided we wouldn't return because of this. But then we got our food and it was bloody delicious. Soooo our opinion soon changed haha we'll be back! Hopefully it was just a one off.
Ordinarily, I am not compelled to write a review about a restaurant I've attended. But this restaurant is far from ordinary. After reading good reviews, I thought this place would make for a nice night out, but oh how I was wrong. It turned out to be one of the best restaurants I've been to in Brisbane so far!
The service was amazing, even though you could tell they were quite busy (so many takeaway orders!). The servers didn't unnecessarily bother you, but when you ran out of water they were there to refill it like magic.
The food. I'll let everyone else tell you about the food. But really, it was out of this world. Really great even for a relatively high price point.
The atmosphere was nice, with things on the walls to look at, and the location wasn't bad either with ample parking.
Overall, I will absolutely be going back here. I am so happy I found this place! They seem to get everything right, even the little things. Absolutely recommend it.
Environment: trendy and modern with sliver of traditional, and I mean sliver.
Service: great staff but maybe an extra waiter can speed up the process.
Food: chicken Penang curry was yummy but not exceptional. Perfect amount of spiciness. Coconut rice was delicious but the rice slightly undercooked. Masaman Curry was underwhelming. It was too beefy which means that the beef had not been cooked with proper skill. Further the beef did not melt in my mouth which is far from the familiarity of a delicious beef masaman curry. Few tweaks and this place could be amazing.
Great Thai restaurant with a mix of traditional and modern dishes. The beef massaman curry is very tender and delicious. Great service and always a quick and tasty takeaway.
Amazing Thai restaurant, if not the best I've personally ever been to. This is true for pretty much all aspects: great food with a fine taste and lovely presentation, stylish interior, reasonable prices (even cheap lunch specials) and really friendly and efficient staff. Would go anytime I feel like Thai food around Brisbane.
Tasty food, the friendliest of staff, Rollywood posters on the wall – hell, I could even wash my dog in the carpark! Truly the land of plenty.
Discovered this place by chance, will be going back. Great tasting, good sized portions and well presented food. Friendly staff, clean and well presented establishment. Street parking.
Best Thai in Brisbane!!!! Have eaten here a few times now and would def recommend it.

Great fresh & tasty food& good service! A new favourite :)
Would highly recommend this restaurant, the food was delicious and the service was top notch, will definitely be back
Beautiful food! One of the best Thai we've ever had. Drunken noodles, beef basil salad and the taro cake dessert were all very great. Will definitely be back!
Fantastic, best thai I have had brisbane! fresh, spicy, amazing flavours. Love this place!!!
The food and service were good, we had a large party and it all went well. Be careful though, the dishes all seemed to be much hotter then we thought. If you are sensitive to hot food, I'd ask the staff to spice it down a bit.
Good Food and an Interesting menu. This place has just opened up and so far so good. We have ordered from there 3 times, trying different dishes and haven't had a bad one yet. Interesting menu - some traditional and some new. Fresh tasting and a nice amount of spice. The spicy fried tofu was very good.
Looking forward to when they deliver.
Thai food with a difference. Some interesting dishes in addition to the usual curries. Every dish was delicious but try spicy tofu salad, spicy barramundi and red duck curry. Keep space for the totally yummy warm taro cake. Loved the wall paper of old Thai movies. Definitely worth visiting again nod again to try the different dishes.
3.5 * Stars (out of 5) So.... 3.5 * Stars (out of 5)
So we dropped in on day 3 of business, so it's clear that the team is still finding their feet. I would check reviews in a month again!
Menu-wise, an interesting mix of classics and interpretations. Serves were a bit on the small side but the food was good quality overall.
Tried and recommend the spicy tofu salad!
Staff were welcoming and friendly!
What can I say? Probably the best Thai restaurant in Brisbane! Seriously good food Not only that service is spot on too. Could not fault anything & this is second visit. This visit my order was a prawn dish, lots of fat succulent prawns in a spicy sauce with vegetables in a rich coconut sauce just beautiful, what more can I say ? Thanks guys we will be back!!
The Satay Skewers were both delicious and tender.
Recommend the Panang Curry. I wasn't wild about the Pad Thai but it was tasty
Great food and well priced, warm and welcoming service( we were served by Charlotte, very friendly and sweet🙂), sitting area is a bit crowded but overall experience is very great, highly recommended 👍
Banana Leaf serves some amazing Thai food. Our favourites are the Tom Yum Prawns and the Pad Thai. The flavours of the Tom Yum are divine, and I love that it captures sourness so perfectly. We have always had our meals as take away from here, and the whole process from ordering to picking up has been smooth with no mishaps. We'll definitely keep coming back for the Tom Yum soup.
One of our go-to when craving for good quality Thai food in a cosy spot. The food is pretty good quality and the flavours are there. We especially love the fact that, you can opt for more ‘premum’ protein options like grilled chicken tights, wagyu beef, and free-range chicken.
I love the food, good price and excellent quality. The service is amazing. It is the perfect place for a relaxing dinner with perfect flavours.
The coconut rice, chicken Basil and drunken noodles are the best plates
It was a good experience, delicious food and we got good customer service
