Ate here on a Friday evening, which was relatively quiet. We chose to sit outside (as no patrons were inside) and heaters were available.  Wait staff were friendly and service was quick. We were a little surprised at the quality and presentation of the food with this being a pub type eatery. The salmon with avocado and lime puree and the Duo of lamb were both excellent although the salmon was slighly over cooked for my liking (but still enjoyable). The Cheese board and pecan pie were also both presented nicely and the food was really good value. We would have liked to have seen more entrees on the menu (only 3) and we didn't like any of the choices and the wine at $50 was a little over priced.

Friday Lunch
This is a great spot for an office lunch. It's pub style food with something on the menu for everyone. Even though it was busy, the food came out quickly & the service was friendly and efficient.

I ate here on a Tuesday night with a friend.  For mains I had the ribeye steak with dauphinoise potatoes, roasted root vegetables, parsnip puree and port jus. I requested the steak to be cooked medium rare and it was! I really enjoyed all the sides as well but would have liked more of the jus to sauce the steak. I had the cider on tap to accompany the meal and that was also delicious. For dessert, I finished up with the brownie which was so decadent but not overly sweet as it was well balanced with tart fruits and a raspberry sorbet. I was sufficiently full. The price was a bit above what i would normally pay for dinner but i think the quality matched the price. I would also like to try more of the menu so will be returning.

Chosen for closeness to apartment & Needed a quick light dinner. Two of us choose the salmon entree & shared veges. Hubby soup & cod. All really enjoyable. Would definitely come back. Great beer selection.

Need a place for an inoffensive workday team lunch? Mr Edwards' is your man.

FIRSTLY there's plenty of good ale, wine, cider & cocktail options to get you lit. Alehouse goals.

FOODWISE something for everyone - from the daily artisan pie to salads & lots in between (eg grilled perch, duck wrap, chicken burger, buckwheat fettuccine). Dishes are around the $20 mark and are also available for takeaway. Meals today were generally well received with most people commenting they were 'okay' - no complaints but no raves either. I was the same: definitely liked (but wasn't wowed by) my superfood salad. Plates have obvious visual appeal...with somewhat nondescript flavours.

NIIIIIICE big ticks for • atmosphere & decor (although we miss the original leather chesterfield chairs inside) • super friendly & efficient staff / service. Props too for the painless pre-ordering process today, thank you.

With a few days away in Brisbane for work, we had a couple extra hours up our sleeves and thought we would try and find something low key for a few drinks and nibbles before heading back to the hotel. ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE. We arrived to the restaurant around 8pm and there were only a hand full of tables seated inside. Being a nice night, we decided to sit outside under the heater and enjoy fresh air. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are quite large with ample seating on large rustic wooden tables, bar stools and a few beach seats.

Went to Mr Edwards as a booked venue for a birthday party- this place has the most relaxed, inviting feel, almost like 'yeah, I've been here before'. Such attentive staff, picked up on the small things; refilling jugs just before they were low, swiftly rearranging seating when more people arrived, they even cut up and served the cake at no extra cost. Don't get me started on the Pimms- that stuff, I'm not sure what they do to it, but it is so gooooddd! GO there, you won't regret it :)

What do you look for when you want to pick a place to eat?

Food? Mr Edwards has you covered. Delicious, tasty, OMG are some of the adjectives that one to mind when I think about the steak I had. Cooked to perfection (rare) and in no need of any sauce, it melted in my mouth. More please!

Price? Reasonably average, it's not going to cost you a kidney to dine here. Check out their specials for added savings.

Cold beer? They have it in spades. No need to drink generic here, they have PLENTY of perfectly chilled beer. For those who aren't into beer (sorry, I don't you're no friends of mine), there are some great wine choices and something stronger, if that's your jam.

Atmosphere? Well, if I was looking for a dashing gentleman named Mr Edward, I'd probably find him here. Lively, dapper and refined. I loved the ambiance of feeling like I'm in a Victorian gentlemen's establishment.

Dine with Mr Edwards. I recommend it!

Stop eating here and just turn on the alcoholic. The desserts are alcoholic, the drinks menu are alcoholic, and here I am an alcoholic now with a severe case of diabetes ... "No officer I have not been drinking. I have been pouring desserts down my drain hole, is that a problem?"

I was able to enjoy lunch here. Lots of menus, many kinds of beer, and wine and so on. Not so expensive. In addition, staff was friendly. It became one of my favorite restaurant :)

We were looking for breakfast and were diverted from visiting the Anthology Cafe in downtown Brisbane, due to the road blocks set up for Chris Helmsworth and Tom Hiddleson doing their stuff on location shooting their movie Thor: Ragnarok.   I always find magic when something is preventing achieving a plan but then we get to discover something else.    This early morning it was not exactly going on the less trodden path, as the shut off for foot traffic at the junction of Mary and Albert Streets on a working day did cause traffic diversion of both vehicular and human versions spilling on to the nearby city centre roads. And this was how we discovered Mr. Edward's, aptly named right alongside the road's namesake.    I sensed we were sort of in a tourist visitor area but I could be wrong.  The Verve Hotel was just a stone's throw away, providing a kind of pub and dining environment, and so was Mr. Edward's.  Well this was just at 9am on a work day, but the male staff greeting us, was absolutely helpful, engaging and welcoming.Mr. Edward's has many cured and smoked meats, so I opted for their version of the   Aussie Big Breakfast.  I was duly rewarded by the most lovely sausages and mushrooms, with a hint of southern European and the Australian farming regions.    What topped my serving was the rather well made bread, good enough to eat by themselves.Perhaps I have seen too many Eggs Benedict in the greater Sydney area and the Illawarra coast.   The version by Mr. Edward's is drier and the poached eggs are not Onsen style, so there was some comparison in discussion with my breakfast companion SK.  I am told that the chef here has an experienced reputation, so expectations are set rather high.    We did not experience long waits for our food on this visit.   I reckon it is also a gathering place for parties, with an extensive alcohol bar featuring crafted beers, wines, spirits, cocktails and more - the way to go like in contemporary Sydney and Melbourne, a licensed place with meats, seafoods and in a happening place.   Further, Mr. Edwards is a showcase of Coopers Brewing stuff  - and I did note the Coopers beer infused banana bread...A further peek into the menu reaffirmed my positive vibes in what they put out for their customers.    Simple sides for main meals later into the day and night included duck fat roasted potatoes;  chips served with Parmesan cheese and truffle;  beetroot slow roasted with almonds and Greek yoghurt; and saute button mushrooms.   The cheese selections are worth checking out - with Cremeux from the Adelaide Hills; the Barossa Triple Cream; Cave Age Cheddar from Somerset; and the Ubriaco Al Prosecco, a salted Italian cow's creation with light citrus notes. The Trio of pork as a shared plate has ham hock parcels, Tamari char grilled Chorizo, slices of crispy pig ear, braised pork belly and potato scallop.  Tamari is a niche soy sauce produced in the Chubu area of Japan. The seafood Paella is brimming with spiced Pimiento  (a large, red and heart shaped cherry pepper), Whiting fish, mussels, octopus and squid, and further enhanced by Chorizo, peas and fresh herbs.I must return....especially for the cherry baked Alaska, with vanilla bean ice cream, hazelnut sprinklings and chocolate sponge.   Plus the wild Rabbit Saddle Sous Vide Ballentine, a rather captivating dish that has artichoke puree, blueberry gel and hand picked spinach looking Sorrel gracing an apricot flavoured pork and rabbit Bon Bon. There is also a spanking new barista coffee machine at the front (Edward Street side) - Establishment coffee.   Mr. Edward's opened at the end of July 2015  - owners Daniel Whiffen and Gerry Murphy have designed and run a place to stand apart from typical competitors by offering an Euro feel not just in cuisine like slow cooked meats, but also in the drinks list, and still retaining a familiar ambiance for Brisbane diners.

Visited Mr Edwards on a Thursday and picked up their 3 course set menu which was above average
coupled with some Cooper craftys which are hard to get off tap. Good to see a craft beer establishment still with high quality food. Service was outstanding@

Came here on a reasonably slow Saturday, though after subsequently walking past again it looks like slow nights are a thing of the past here. Service was pleasant and accommodating. Steak to share was flavoursome and appeared underdone but was delicious upon tasting. Potatoes and deep fried cauliflower was brilliant (better than Gerard's) and boozy brownie to end with was delicious. Will be back again.

What a superb place! We hosted a corporate dinner for 22 people here last week. The booking process was easy and they were very accommodating with all of our requests. On arrival the staff were professional, organised and the service was friendly and efficient. The charcuterie was brilliant - some of the best i have had in Brisbane, all paired with home-made breads and very tasty pickled veg/condiments. Our mains came out quickly and were enjoyed by all. The beer selection was great - our group enjoyed a vast range all individually suggested by our very knowledgeable host. We had a very enjoyable evening in a fantastic atmosphere. This place has really hit its stride, we will definitely  be back!

We had a wonderful Monday night dinner. Being a big group, we went with a seafood paella for each table and the vegetarians (myself included) got to enjoy the Vegetarian Pasta off the A la Carte menu. Very tasty sauce, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The staff were attentive but never obtrusive. It was a comfortable and refined interior - very welcoming. I'll be going back!

Heading into the city I decided to check this spot out on a friends review. Definitely worth the stop. Great friendly staff with a solid selection of cured meats and cheeses. Washed it down with a good old Pale Ale. It seemed busy but the service was very quick and attentive. I saw a number of larger groups enjoying their functions and all seemed to be loving the casual atmosphere. I believe they intend to roof the area outside and put in a green wall which will finish that spot perfectly. Check it out if down that area!

Great food and service with an old worldly feel to the décor. Nice smile awaited me on entry and the beef cheek is a big winner in my book. A full selection of craft beers and a fairly good wine list. Worth a trip into the city for sure.

3 of us had dinner and all cast our eyes on the Slow Cooked Beef Cheeks. The order took quite some time to reach us, but it was quite worth it. Very well cooked meat and a good bit of jus and flavor. I might have sought more tangy flavouring, but my friends did enjoy it quite a bit.

Would recommend trying this dish here.

We had lunch at Mr Edwards Alehouse on Saturday. The superfood salad was delicious, I had this with a recommended Tappo Apple and sour cherry cider. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming I would defiantly recommend this place.

Excellent service that matched the excellent food. Great price and amazing taste. Highly recommended trying the dessert beer to share. Steak or pork belly were the favourites we tried.

Obviously a new addition to the Brisbane dining scene. I went with a colleague on a Monday night, which is always an odd night to dine, small groups of tourists and a few business travelers.
This explains why the atmosphere was subdued, and the service a little too efficient. I would love to go back on a Thursday or Friday night.
The beer selection is outstanding, and the owner is both passionate and knowledgeable. The wine list was ok, but I suspect that is not really the target.
The food was good, we shared a slow cooked pork and lentil dish, and the biggest serve of bread I have seen in a restaurant. Two thumbs up on the chili butter, it had some serious kick. Four main my mate had a nice medium rare lamb rump, while i had the beef cheek, which was nicely cooked, and served with a tasty jus on the side. Both were good serves, and fortunately smaller than the bread. We probably could have skipped the chips, as both mains came with potatoes and we had moved into serious carb overload territory.
Overall a good experience, that i am sure will get tighter as their experience builds.
