Ate here on a Friday evening, which was relatively quiet. We chose to sit outside (as no patrons were inside) and heaters were available. Wait staff were friendly and service was quick. We were a little surprised at the quality and presentation of the food with this being a pub type eatery. The salmon with avocado and lime puree and the Duo of lamb were both excellent although the salmon was slighly over cooked for my liking (but still enjoyable). The Cheese board and pecan pie were also both presented nicely and the food was really good value. We would have liked to have seen more entrees on the menu (only 3) and we didn't like any of the choices and the wine at $50 was a little over priced.
Friday Lunch
This is a great spot for an office lunch. It's pub style food with something on the menu for everyone. Even though it was busy, the food came out quickly & the service was friendly and efficient.
I ate here on a Tuesday night with a friend. For mains I had the ribeye steak with dauphinoise potatoes, roasted root vegetables, parsnip puree and port jus. I requested the steak to be cooked medium rare and it was! I really enjoyed all the sides as well but would have liked more of the jus to sauce the steak. I had the cider on tap to accompany the meal and that was also delicious. For dessert, I finished up with the brownie which was so decadent but not overly sweet as it was well balanced with tart fruits and a raspberry sorbet. I was sufficiently full. The price was a bit above what i would normally pay for dinner but i think the quality matched the price. I would also like to try more of the menu so will be returning.
Chosen for closeness to apartment & Needed a quick light dinner. Two of us choose the salmon entree & shared veges. Hubby soup & cod. All really enjoyable. Would definitely come back. Great beer selection.
Well came cause it’s my name sake, and Mr Edwards didn’t let me down, started with 3 ale paddle of coopers it’s all subjective so give um a go, food was awesome good menu, we had breads to start with pork belly main delicious, portions could have been more but hey deserts sorted that😘 and what a finish whisky paddle with chocolate 🤪🤪 staff are great and informative, give it a go munchies you’ll love it...
Need a place for an inoffensive workday team lunch? Mr Edwards' is your man.
FIRSTLY there's plenty of good ale, wine, cider & cocktail options to get you lit. Alehouse goals.
FOODWISE something for everyone - from the daily artisan pie to salads & lots in between (eg grilled perch, duck wrap, chicken burger, buckwheat fettuccine). Dishes are around the $20 mark and are also available for takeaway. Meals today were generally well received with most people commenting they were 'okay' - no complaints but no raves either. I was the same: definitely liked (but wasn't wowed by) my superfood salad. Plates have obvious visual appeal...with somewhat nondescript flavours.
NIIIIIICE big ticks for • atmosphere & decor (although we miss the original leather chesterfield chairs inside) • super friendly & efficient staff / service. Props too for the painless pre-ordering process today, thank you.
With a few days away in Brisbane for work, we had a couple extra hours up our sleeves and thought we would try and find something low key for a few drinks and nibbles before heading back to the hotel. ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE. We arrived to the restaurant around 8pm and there were only a hand full of tables seated inside. Being a nice night, we decided to sit outside under the heater and enjoy fresh air. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are quite large with ample seating on large rustic wooden tables, bar stools and a few beach seats.
Went to Mr Edwards as a booked venue for a birthday party- this place has the most relaxed, inviting feel, almost like 'yeah, I've been here before'. Such attentive staff, picked up on the small things; refilling jugs just before they were low, swiftly rearranging seating when more people arrived, they even cut up and served the cake at no extra cost. Don't get me started on the Pimms- that stuff, I'm not sure what they do to it, but it is so gooooddd! GO there, you won't regret it :)
What do you look for when you want to pick a place to eat?
Food? Mr Edwards has you covered. Delicious, tasty, OMG are some of the adjectives that one to mind when I think about the steak I had. Cooked to perfection (rare) and in no need of any sauce, it melted in my mouth. More please!
Price? Reasonably average, it's not going to cost you a kidney to dine here. Check out their specials for added savings.
Cold beer? They have it in spades. No need to drink generic here, they have PLENTY of perfectly chilled beer. For those who aren't into beer (sorry, I don't you're no friends of mine), there are some great wine choices and something stronger, if that's your jam.
Atmosphere? Well, if I was looking for a dashing gentleman named Mr Edward, I'd probably find him here. Lively, dapper and refined. I loved the ambiance of feeling like I'm in a Victorian gentlemen's establishment.
Dine with Mr Edwards. I recommend it!

Stop eating here and just turn on the alcoholic. The desserts are alcoholic, the drinks menu are alcoholic, and here I am an alcoholic now with a severe case of diabetes ... "No officer I have not been drinking. I have been pouring desserts down my drain hole, is that a problem?"
