Review C'est Bon Restaurant - Brisbane

We had NYE dinner, which was kind of Luxury experience in French cuisine. Champagne experience made it more enjoyable. The cod and pork were cooked in a special way, very tasty. The staff were so friendly. The whole experience was awesome.

Food was excellent! The gnocchi with that rich sauce was delicious! The Wagyu was cooked to perfection and the brioche to mop up all that gravy was definitely a good recommendation. Dessert was exceptional too! I would come back just for the gnocchi! 😋

I've been wanting to check this place out for ages, my partner booked us in for a surprise birthday dinner. Omg, the food is incredible, my partner ordered the lamb, I was jealous because I got the pork belly. Don't get me wrong, I loved the pork belly! Any the point is, the food was awesome! We'll definitely go back! Also great views on the rooftop bar!

We had 5 course tasting menu with drinks. Really high quality food and fantastic service. Especially the Finnish waiter was on top of everything all the time. Highly recommend!

The restaurant is very cozy. Staff are very friendly. I didn't dare to eat the beef tartare, so it's my first time to try it. It was very tasty. A must try. Actually every course was all very delicious and you can feel the efforts that the chef and staff make on them. Highly recommend if you are in brisbane!

I used to come here when it was a hole in the wall restaurant run by Michel Bonet. It dropped off after it changed hands but I can confirm that it has well and truly returned to form. The dishes are so clever (duck eclairs!) and well executed. The Wagyu tartare with the beef tendon crisps was also fantastic. Highly recommended!

For amazing flavours, superb customer service and great champagne, this restaurant is a must! Hubby and I shared each course and it was all packed with delicious mouth watering flavours and presented like artwork on a plate. The duck liver eclairs are just delectable. Every course was outstanding and we're glad we managed to fit in dessert which is just delightful. The atmosphere was lovely with low noise levels, so we could hear each other talk. We enjoyed the whole evening. A beautiful night out. Thank you C'est Bon, we'll be back!

Amazing food and cocktails. To start we had the sourdough waffle bread. Interesting, but the hero was the butter. Sousvide butter with onion 👌🏼 Then the best two dishes of the night arrived. Beef tartare and crab. So tasty, some of the best dishes I’ve had in a Brisbane restaurant. Quail and Pork came for mains with a side of artichoke. These were great, orange sauce on the quail was delicious. Artichoke also a knockout side dish. Because the cocktails were so good didn’t order from their extensive wine list. Will be back soon for sure. Dangerous this place is close to home…

My wife and I went down for the 5 course degustation recently and it was mediocre. The meal was just under $100 per head with wine extra. We found the quality of the food pretty good, the Duck L'orange and Creme Brulee were great as was the Gravalax Salmon. The issue was twofold. Firstly the 5 course were petite and while adequate and sorbet that came out after the 2nd course should have been an Amuse Bouche not the 3rd course. The duck was the only meat dish of substance so it fell short in that regard.<br/>The 2nd issue is not necessarily the fault of the restaurant but the bistro is LOUD! I really mean it. For a room seating 20-30 people the noise was crazy, and no I'm not some old flog I love a bit of atmosphere but everyone was talking at the top of their voices. Maybe everyone had been to the bar prior to dinner? An elderly couple with hearing aids sat next to us and they couldn't talk to each other at all. One table in particular were banging on the table and laughing so loudly you could have thought you were at the Hog's Breath. I might go back and try a la carte one day, the steaks at the next table looked really good.

We had a great dinner. The lamb was a 10 out of 10 for me. The service was prompt and friendly. Thank you for being patient with our loud Greek ways. Many thanks.

Came here for a special dinner and was suitably impressed. Service was excellent, with lovely complementary morsels upon seating. Escargot for entre was delicious. My partner had the fish which was amazing, one of the best he's had. I tried the chicken which was very rustic and earthy. Would love to co.e back sometime.

Rated 3.5. Went here for mid-week dinner with the partner and utilised The Fork's discount offer.<br/><br/>There was complimentary baguette slices and salted butter to start.<br/>As entrees, we ordered the 'Soupe de Jour', which was a delicious roasted tomato soup, fennel and plump scallops, and the special 'Peppered Venison Carpaccio', which did not seem like a true carpaccio but still well-cooked venison slices on a leafy salad.<br/>For mains, we chose the 'Le Porc a la Bourguignonne', which consisted of succulent pork with creamy potato puree, and 'Le Canard a l'orange', which unfortunately missed the balance of citric flavours and was a little too sweet.<br/><br/>Smart casual ambience that fitted the 'cosy French' vibe. Friendly service. Reasonable prices - albeit we utilised The Fork discount special.<br/><br/>Overall, a reasonable dinner experience, however just missing out on that something extra special to define it from the other emerging French restaurant competitors in Brisbane.

Since my earliest memories of the Gabba, I could always remember my parents driving me past and being curious about the shop with the Eiffel tower decorating the outside of it. Having maintained my curiosity throughout the years, it's long been top of my list for date night spots. I can't believe it's taken me so long to make my way there, but I was super excited to go with Adam last week for our mid week date night.

One of the best French cuisine we have ever been!!! The restaurant is really well maintained (clean) and AMAZING Service from the Team!!<br/><br/>-> They served us with some Cheese breads (complimentary) - which was perfectly cooked with crispy on the outside and super soft inside. They also served us some fresh breads with Salted butter (complimentary as well) - nice and flavourful.<br/><br/>-> Mains 1 - PAN BRAISED BRISBANE VALLEY QUAIL SERVED WITH FALLS FARM ROASTED VEGETABLE - The dish was great with lots of flavours and even some new vegetables we tried. Generous portion! 4/5<br/><br/>-> Mains 2 - TASMANIAN SPRING LAMB RUMP with POTATO GRATIN and TRUFFLED FOREST MUSHROOM SAUCE - This dish was really Delicious and presentation was fabulous!! <br/>Lamb (Medium rare) was perfectly cooked, Potato Gratin was the best - just melts in your mouth with tons of flavours and Sauce was perfect and creamy!! 5/5<br/><br/>-> Dessert - PASSION FRUIT AND GRAND MARNIER SOUFFLÉ - Soufflé was super soft and filled with flavours - One of the best desserts I have ever had!! 5/5<br/><br/><br/>Would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone for Fine dining!!

A lovely restaurant with friendly wait staff. The new renovations to the bar are stunning and we enjoyed the range on the new menu. We enjoyed the degustation of entrees which allowed us to try a bit of each entree on the menu, especially considering we couldn’t decide which ones to order! The produce in the main dishes especially were of high quality and cooked to perfection. We were very impressed and will be back.

Have not been back to this renowned French restaurant after its extension; therefore made a booking to celebrate Christmas on the night of eve. The new extension provides extra rooms to a nice bar for people have relaxing moment while they having a chat before or after meals. Due to seasonal period, we dared not to drink too much so went directly to the dining area. Honestly, dining area is the same size as before except new lay out.<br/><br/>Ordered the 5 courses chef’s degustation to save time to think above what we should have. The gentleman who served us with nice hospitable attitude was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, another wait-staff (maybe the owner) who was over-performed in talking to one of the tables for a long time with very loud voice that just distracted us and spoiled the vibe a lot. <br/><br/>Food-wise does not save marks because it was not as exciting as what we had before. Importantly, the main is made of rabbit meat that is not our favorite at all. Sorry, Chefs!<br/><br/>Rating 3.5/5<br/><br/>Jun 22, 2015 Rating 4/5<br/><br/>This award winning restaurant is one of the rarely authentic French restaurants in town. The venue makes you have home-feeling which is nice and warm. Dishes are rustic but the passionate chefs make them so tasteful. I love their snail entree, French Onion Soup and the Free Range Organic Duck in Orange Sauce. Their $55 set 3 courses are bargain, which is better than the one I had in Sprout Cafe at Auchenflower.

Nice food with good staffs, had a good experience there with my boyfriend. Especially for the soups, they are so amazing. Definitely will go again.<br/>
Albino Diner
Should be renamed C'est OK.  Four of us went, all ordered different things across 3 courses, and everything that came to the table was "ok".  Nice enough pate, my French onion soup looked spectacular when it arrived, but fell so far short: Nice pastry dome, but no cheese experience and the stock was quite thin. Not the rich, warming experience for a cold night I wanted. Ditto the scallops (coquille st jacques), interesting but ultimately unsuccessful 're-interpretation' of a classic. My Duck L'Orange was missing the orange ! A generous serve, the meat was well cooked, but it was  basic brown sauce lacking any citrus punch. But when I saw the beef bourg? Was glad I had duck. I do better beef cheeks at home. Service was polite but distant, the waiter did not understand my order for a dry vodka martini ("you ... want a cocktail, with dry?") and after spending $600, they waved us goodbye from their seats, didn't get up to open the door. I'm afraid its a Not Again for us, when for similar price you can go to Montrachet for AMAZING food.

There's a lot to like about this iconic French restaurant in the inner city suburb of Woolloongabba.<br/>So lovely to find an elegant dining room, simple white linen tablecloths/ fabric napkins and good quality glassware.<br/>I'm not a fan of the butcher paper and fake candles but I understand they assist with costs.<br/>The plates they use are just beautiful - shapes and styles providing a perfect canvas for the food.<br/>Fairly simple menu offered in a fixed price or a la carte option. A table of 5 we chose different options and it was no problem<br/>at all.<br/>Food is classic French, very elegant and delicious.<br/>I noticed that under the $55 menu option my entree was a smaller serve than the same in the a la carte serve- but that didn't bother me.<br/>We did feel quite rushed as main courses arrived within seconds of the entree plates being cleared. However we asked for s break before dessert and that was no problem. Unfortunately parking is limited and restrooms are not easy to get to especially at night.<br/>Lovely restaurant - we look forward to another visit in future.<br/>

Wonder birthday eve celebration here tonight with my mother her partner and my brother. The waitress is funny and professional and the food was amazing. I loved the duck and the 5 course entree and desert.

We had our anniversary dinner here and could not be happier. Food was delicious, well presented with perfect serving sizes. Service was brilliant. They made the extra effort to seat us in a quiet spot and write happy anniversary on our dessert plate (had requested a nice seat and mentioned the occasion on booking). Well worth the price for a nice treat.

Bonjour! This place is my personal pick for authentic French. I highly recommend their escargots de bourgogne entree. To ensure you enjoy your journey, have the owners match your main course from their selection of wine - you will not be disappointed. This place is where I would have a "first date". Bonne chance!

Nice ambience, average service with a good menu selection. All in the party opted for main plus dessert. Beef Bourguignon chosen by one was great, the duck ordered by two of us was the driest bit of boot leather I've encountered....and I eat a lot of duck. The sides and accompaniments were spectacular but let down by mains that shouldn't have been served. When finally waitstaff reappeared we'd finished and not even an apology following a polite complaint about the main course. An outstanding 10/10 soufflé was let down by mains that would be a 2/10. An average French restaurant, sadly I won't be back.

First time experience with friends at C'est Bon didn't disappoint. The atmosphere, food, service and wine selected for us was among the best foodie experiences I've had in Brisbane to date. The decor was as expected for a top end restaurant, and I was impressed with the presentation and quality of the three course meal I chose for the occasion, scallops for entree, lamb main and a passion fruit souffle (probably one of the best I've tried anywhere).<br/>I'll definitely be returning.

Pleasant dining experience. My partner and I came here for a little treat on a weekday night.<br/>We arrived early around 6PM; we were the only ones and the wait staff were extremely attentive and chatty. We both had the 3 courses menu. I had a duck pate, fish of the day, poached pear; my partner had an onion soup, chicken casserole and chocolate mouses. I was recommended a glass of light French red wine which I found pleasant to drink and kept me happy, giggling for the night. We swapped the dishes around and tried each other's dish. The food was overall amazing though the savoury dishes seemed to be on the salty side. The dark and white chocolate mouses were rather mundane and did not stand out much. To be frank, my experience is French cuisine is lacking but I found this place a pleasant experience and would come back again.

It's our 2nd time back here after a couple of years away and can't fault it. Maybe it's the French owners but they are so intuitive with their service. Engaging and efficient and very direct when you ask for a recommended dish. Had the duck cassoulet special and coq au vin - pretty standard fare in Europe but the taste and richness you can't go past. The goats cheese tart entree was hard to beat. It looks sophisticated but the atmosphere is relaxed and it was a perfect evening out for 2 exhausted parents. Will be back soon.
Meatballs And Beef Cheeks
I've been to C'est Bon a couple times and been disappointed each time.  I am a big fan of braised beef cheeks, so ordered the Boeuf Bourguignon.  Didn't enjoy it.  Apparently my short term memory is poor because I ordered the same dish 6 months later and the moment it arrived I realized my mistake.  It was no better the second time. My wife had escargot, duck pate and Tarte Tatin (upside down baked apple tarte).  All three dishes missed the mark.  Best part of the meal was the wine. They are local, so I want to give them the benefit of the doubt, but the last time I went I swore I wouldn't go again.

Salty food. We're a group of people sitting upstairs. Nice atmosphere. Wait staff were nice.I had onion soup for entree, beef cheek for main and chocolate mousse for dessert.Onion soup pastry was beautiful, soup was very rich however it's very salty. Could not finish the whole bowl. My friends had seared scallops and they're fresh and fantastic. Duck pate was tasty as well. The beef cheek was another disappointment. The sauce was again very salty, there's bacon on the dish but i didnt even eat it coz the beef is already salty enough. I wish i could rinse it with water before putting into my mouth. Left half of the dish on the plate. My friends had mixed seafood, duck and lamb. All of them were overly seasoned. The duck was so overcooked. I was hoping my dessert aint gonna be salty....luckily my chocolate dessert was nice and rich. Poached pear was sensational. Perfect crème brulee. Didn't go home too depressed but I am not sure if i'll be visiting this restaurant again.

Restaurant now delivers a priced menu so minimum spend without drinks is $110.00 for 2 courses.   So watch out - its expensive and the food is not the quality it used to be.  Very disappointing as I was taking someone special for a special evening out and was terribly disappointed.  I suggest if you want to impress go elsewhere where the food is reliable.

Cest Bon looks full of promise from as you enter the building - with the decor, the French waiters and the music you certainly feel like you could be in Paris.  We were with a group of 8 so fortunately we were going to see quite a lot of the menu.  I felt really comfortable that we were in safe hands - its the kind of place that has lasted the test of time and doesn't seem to aim to be the trendy place of the day but just quietly plods along doing what they do well.<br/><br/>Unfortunately, on this occasion, it was a bit hit and miss.  We had the salmon gravalax and the Duck pate and these dishes were really well executed and authentic.  Also on the table were scallops and bouillabaisse and our family were very happy with these dishes also.  The mains were ok - the fish was the standout but the duck dishes were very dry and the steak dish came with a potato rosti which wasn't a rosti at all.  It was potato wedges squashed into a mould.  The overall feeling on the mains was that they lacked a bit of care and were just a bit slapped together.  The dessert menu was typically French and looked really enticing!  The creme caramel was the highlight but the souffle was just too eggy and large.  The Bombe Alaska had quite dry cake in the middle but really we ordered it because we wanted the theatre of a flambe but that didn't happen - the meringue is torched in the kitchen.  Without the flambe the whole dish was a bit lacklustre and the meringue too sloppy.<br/><br/>We thought that for the price the food was a bit under par for what it should be.  The service started good but then because it was a quiet night you just started to become aware that you had been forgotten about.  There is just no need for that as with a wall of mirrors we could be easily seen from the bar so the waiter only needed to come over when there was actually something to do.  They also missed an opportunity to sell a modified dessert for our guest with allergies.  All we wanted was for them to appear to try but the waiter said no they don't have anything but I felt that he wasn't sure that was the actual case.  I would rather he checked with the kitchen and then came back and said no OR be upfront and say we get this enquiry a lot but we just can't cater for that without notice!  His answer was wishy washy and wasn't a good look.  The menu had sorbet on it so we were left a bit confused!  Overall I think they should be putting a bit more on the main plate and taking a bit off the supersized dessert plates!<br/><br/>It certainly wasn't a bad experience but I think French food requires perfection and expertise.  It has inspired me to try more French food though!

Came here for a birthday dinner, already made a remark when i booked but sadly nothing special comes up. Anyway, food and service was great. We had the $75 3 courses set, ordered the degustation entree (chef selection of 5 entrees ( for 2 people)), two mains and degustation desserts (5 desserts ( for 2 people)). We really like the braised and slow cooked beef cheek in burgundy red wine served with pomme darphin (rosti) and bacon. The home made duck pâté from the degustation entree. <br/><br/>A lilttle story: We ordered the second bottle of sparkling water before coffee and dessert, but it didn't come, so when we have finished the desserts and coffee, we asked for tap water, and in 30 seconds our sparkling water came, so obviously that was just weird.<br/><br/>putting it a low score for the booking treatment, i have booked it through dimmi, but got cancelled, telling me that "I get charged per person as people book. "

World Class French Cuisine!!. After trying C'est Bon last night for the first time, I was extremely impressed (and I'm fussy). The restaurant was packed, every table taken which is always a good sign, but service was not impacted and delivery of the meals was very timely. The food is seriously to die for. Try the escargot and the Duck a la Orange. Amazing!!! The food is priced reasonably with a three course meal for $75 or entree/main or main/desert for $60. The serving sizes are large so after the entree and main unfortunately I couldn't fit in a desert. Will definitely try next time though as they looked beautiful. The owner's husband is the chef and we were fortunately to have his lovely wife wait on us. Merci beaucoup :-) All up this is 5 star plus and can't wait to go again!

Interesting Review's. I didn't bother posting a review any of the times I had dinner here, but was looking thru these today and remembered that the starter on one of the dinners had been very nice - can't remember any of the mains but wait there's more! I do remember being with a group of 12 the last time and we were charged $10 each corkage, they had an evening a week when you could bring your own wine.

Overall enjoyable. I find C'est Bon a bit hit and miss . . . I have had some incredible meals here. Eye fillet with morel mushroom sauce is one of the most beautiful meals I have had (I really hope that they bring it back soon!). At other times though, the meals are not quite up to the same standard. I feel like it must depend on the chef for that evening. I like the atmosphere and the staff are always friendly.

Once my favorite place for French food, now no more. The owner was rude as soon as she found out that we weren't there for the full 3 course dinner as we had a show to catch. When we were done, 30 min quick meal, she wouldn't even bother to say bye. This is no customer service. Perhaps she only practices Selective Customer Service. Very disappointed.

C'est disappointing. Drab expensive food<br/>Couldn't taste a thing<br/>The fish had a similar consistency to the creme brûlée that followed<br/>It was hard to tell them apart<br/>I've never had snails like it before.<br/>Usually I can taste them. Not tonight

Been here a few times over the years and it's always been a pleasurable experience. I love their canard a l'orange and will try to have that every time. The veal is flavourful and perfectly cooked. The staff are lovely and their French accents and exceptional service really do take you away from brisbane for a few hours each time. A must try!

Great Service and Food a second time!. Don't be taken in by the negative reviews as they may have been one offs as this was the second time I have been to C'est Bon and we loved it. I would have to say that it was even better the second time round. <br/><br/>The wife and I wanted to take a night off from looking after our little guy and asked for a romantic table. They didn't disappoint putting us in a quiet nook. Loved the different meal selections that allow for the more budget conscious to the normal 3 course al a' carte menu. We suggest trying the degustation menu for the desserts as single serves are difficult to finish due to the richness of the cuisine. <br/><br/>The stand out for us was the service. At no time through out the night did we want for water or wine. They also managed to not be too invasive. As we don't get out too much they were absolutely knowledgeable on their wine lists and their suggestions were spot on. <br/><br/>The food was great as well with us trying a seafood and duck for our mains which were excellently cooked. The desserts were excellent (Brulee and bombe Alaska) as always and topped off an enjoyable night. <br/><br/>No question that meals can be expensive but with the quality of service and food we will be back even though we now live in Victoria.
Jan
Excellent. I hadn't been to Cést Bon for a few years and it was even better than I remembered. Every course of everyone's meal was perfect and the win - amazing.

The best French cuisine in Brisbane!. There isn't much words can say about how mind-bogglingly amazing the food here is - it is an experience best tried in person. The Coq au Vin was sublime - meat so beautifully cooked it slid right off the bone.<br/>The service was exemplary, and the decor is quintessentially French.<br/>For anyone looking to start a night out with fantastic food, don't look anywhere else - just come here.

Valentines Day dinner 2014. From entry to exit we were impressed!<br/>It was my partners first time in a French Restaurant and he really enjoyed himself. We had a 6 course set menu which was amazing! <br/><br/>The charming French waiter offered to choose a wine since the bottle I was after was not available, he chose perfectly! The food came out with good timing, leaving us craving for more each time. The setting is cosy and the service fantastic, glasses refilled and water offered. A perfect place for a romantic rendezvoux. <br/><br/>The duck terrine and the lamb saddle were delicious and I couldn't fault any of the food, my only regret is not going there earlier. We'll be back!

C'est Bon - Wooloongabba, Brisbane. Even at a two-story height, C'est Bon is narrow in space - though it goes deep into the building - thus it is still very small. A key word to describe it is intimate. Thus, there is credit given that it is much in the vein of how restaurants are back in France. It is far from the most baby-friendly of places, especially when the baby in turn is hyperactive. They do not provide high chairs plus there is a wall of all sorts of wines to choose from. Combine those two aspects and a baby will likely spell disaster. Other than that, this place is absolutely worth the trip and every penny - high quality food, all with fantastic presentation and made with the greatest degree of care and finesse. <br/><br/>By a great stroke of luck, I found myself here. I had always wished to go to this restaurant but could not readily justify given the cost. The stroke of luck came in the form of my big sister having attending a dinner function (paid for by her scholarship foundation) here. Ultimately, this was a good chance for indulgence. <br/><br/>The staff delivered exquisite service from beginning to end. No aspect was left unorganised. They make sure that each diner is left with a drink, and for the lot of people who ordered the lamb for dinner they brought up steak knives to replace the regular knives. It even came down to the toilets, where next to the basin there was a pile of neatly folded face washers to dry your hands along with a bin to collect the used ones. An extra bonus is that they get impressed if you speak French (even just a simple merci). In spite of being a really busy night for them, they managed to keep calm and eager. All this made the difference from a restaurant that could be well appreciated, to a dining experience that was worth all the while. It never hurts to additionally have good food as well. <br/><br/>After setting everything else up, and a bit before handing out the menus they present two lots of bread. These are placed spaced out on the table. The first lot of bread was in a ball-shape and infused with butter. The second lot - most likely to have on the side with mains et al - contained baguettes cut into segments, and good quality butter on the side for spreading. The said butter was at that just-right consistency where it is neither too hard to spread hard nor soft and formless. The butter was served on Chinese-style soup spoons. <br/><br/>Being the lone non-drinker, I checked if they could to a cafe au lait (first: I like coffee and second: while I cannot deny how much I trend towards ordering a cappuccino, when in Paris....) and I was in luck. The coffee had a smooth texture and was an easy-drinking beverage. Its flavours were subdued in intensity. <br/><br/>Even opting for the set menu - a three course prix fix - there were not any weak choices. For the entree and main, I pretty much knew the item which I wished to order; it came down to a bit more weighing up for the dessert. Nevertheless, I had a three course meal planned and ready for consumption. Had I chosen from the a la carte menu I would have been there for quite some time. <br/><br/>To begin, I chose "Parfait de Cannard" from the entree selection. This is duck liver pate served with a side of brioche and some chutney. Half of a slice was on the side with two slices of toasted brioche, a little side salad and a dab of fruit chutney which seemed to be cranberry. Most of the time, the situation would be that there is more bread and less pate (or dip) however this time around it was the inverse; that is not a complaint. I utilised some baguette to finish it off. The pate was akin to a meaty butter, smooth and delicious; you could not have too much of it in one go. The brioche was well toasted and went well spread with both the pate and the fruity chutney <br/><br/>My big sister and her husband shared the dégustation d’entrées - a platter selection of entrees. From this, I managed to sneak a taste of an escargot (snail) and a bit of tarte fine à la tomate (tomato and onion tart topped with blue cheese). The escargot was marinated in a garlic-parsley sauce, with each of the three flavours not over-riding one another and actually being subtle; it is not for everybody - the escargot - due to its texture but I am game to try any new meat. The tart was delicious, proving just how much caramelised onion and some sort of strong cheese can never go wrong in my view. So far, the food was very impressive. At a lot of places, the entrees and mains are starkly different to each other. Here, the entrees could easily stand on their own as a satisfying enough main with the quality and care given while also being able to co-operate as a full meal. <br/><br/>Which brings the dinner to the main course. My choice from the selection was a signature classic from the French cuisine: Canard a L'Orange. This dish is simultaneously simple and impressive, it is a cut of duck, cooked til the skin is crispy and the fatty parts of the meat is like butter. On the side is sweet potato mash in a liquid-esque consistency almost like a whip; this is on a bed of braised red cabbage and topped of with a drizzle of orange-Grand Marnier sauce. Everything about this dish was perfectly done. It is an example of a dish where the process of cooking might well be simple to describe, while the results pay off magnificently. <br/><br/>I am not expert on the cuisine, but from hearsay no good French meal would be complete without a fine dessert and/or cheese selection to finish it off. Initially, I had ordered "Bavarois Glace Chocolat Blanc Caramel" from the desserts section. This is an iced white chocolate and caramel parfait served with a caramel sauce. However, after some things happened there was a bit of a switch around and I instead got to sample the dégustation de desserts instead. Much like the entree platter, this order serves for two people and is only available as such. It is a selection of five signature desserts: creme caramel, chocolate tart, creme brulee, passion-fruit souffle and crepe suzzette. Additionally, there is whirled toffee encasing the sweet in the middle. This makes for a great aesthetic. <br/>As always, creme caramel was reliable and smooth (ditto to the creme brulee with its burnt caramlised crust). the crepe suzette added a more tart/sour flavour needed to balance the tastes of the platter out, the passionfruit souffle was moreish and soft then last (and certainly not least) the chocolate tart was deliciously dark creating a further diverse balance with the flavours showcasing how distinct the desserts were. <br/><br/>At that time, I could not stay any longer due to the baby nearing its bed-time coupled with the ride to pick the four of us up (note: there was a lot of drinking, and I cannot drive). This made the dessert a bit on the rushed side, and there was no waiting around to be had. We still got to give a graciousness to the waitstaff for providing such a great meal to be remembered. <br/><br/>At a great restaurant, you leave with a full - or at least satiated - belly from some great food. A fantastic restaurant, it has to be more than the food that leaves such a positive impression on your mind. The latter was as such with me at C'est Bon. The waitstaff showed immense dedication to providing the clientele a wonderful dinner, there was a lovely aesthetic to the old-style building along with the views from the top level and the food was something special. More than ever I am now really keen on exploring French cuisine further, and would consider the chance to go back here. This is, without hyperbole, one of Brisbane's best and finest restaurants.

Dissapointed. I have eaten here over 10 times and on Friday night I went for my Anniversary with my girlfriend. I was expecting excellent food as per usual. The owner tells me that the monkfish was their top selling dish and we both order it with anticipation. This meal was barely worth eating, bland and disjointed, but I was hungry so I ate what I could. The desert was a classic creme caramel and this was also basically inedible. I assure that this is not because of a lack of palate for this kind of cuisine. When I went to pay I explained to the owner how my food and my girlfriends was bland and partly inedible. She responded with "I'm sorry, will that be credit or savings". I literally will never dine here again which is sad because I used to love coming here. It seems that when Michel Bonnet left the restaurant as head chef his legacy did sadly not live on. Thanks for taking my money, au revoir.

Lunch like the French. We love to see how long we can linger over the great value set price lunches at C'est Bon, current record 4.5 hours. It feels like we are in France when we dine here, Classic French dishes steak, duck, fish, rabbit all cooked to perfection, free bread, great service by French staff.

Our favourite restaurant! If you want an authentic French dining experience, C'est Bon is for you. The owner is always there to greet you and she is absolutely delightful. The staff are French - both service and chefs - and the food classic, authentic and with a delicious bistro meets country fare offering. Superb.

What a lovely place!. Wow, what a fantastic little place. We were greeted with smiles, were given fantastic attention, and fed the most wonderful French food we have ever had in Brisbane.<br/><br/>The food was served in appropriate sizes and cooked to perfection. The prices, although a little high, were also appropriate for the food and service we received.<br/><br/>Thank you and we will be back.

Not too good. I recently dined there with a friend, The service was good.<br/>Unfortunatley my entree was cold, Scallops and prawns, The serving size was not enough to feed a mouse, could have forgiven that if the presentation was stunning (it was not ).<br/>My friends entree was hot but burnt on the bottom, Salmon tart.<br/>Mains were very nice.<br/>My friends desert was tasty , my cheese serving left alot to be desired.<br/>A nice night, but over priced for the poor quality and presentation of food.

We love this restaurant. My partner and me have decided to join the wide world of food critics. We go out a lot and love our wine and dine. <br/>We don't rely on these websites (urbanspoon, trip advisor, google reviews etc.), but use them as a guideline. <br/>Now here is one we have been following for a while and the mixed reviews made us decide to go there and try it out. We love french food and have tried some other french restaurants in Brisbane (Southbank and Paddington) and we have to say that this is a great little restaurant. <br/>After leaving a message on the answer machine with our booking, we were called back promptly for the confirmation. Romantic table for 2. <br/>The host, a vibrant french lady, welcomed us on the night and we were treated with upmost attention. It was fantastic. <br/>Every waiter has got a great accent and the setting is welcoming and intimate. The food is french and we mean FRENCH. Traditional, yummy and good size portions too. <br/>We will be back. No question. <br/>Conclusion: It is the most authentic French restaurant in Brisbane and now one of our favourite places to go for a nice dinner. Don't believe everything they say in the Internet.

I was a little reluctant to go to C'est Bon because of the urbanspoon reviews, but I had a friend say you have to go its Amazing. The owner was extremely friendly a little hard to understand because of her beautiful French. The food was out of this world. I shared the degustation entree followed by the steak and finished with the oozey gooey chocolate fondant. I will not stop raving about this restaurant everyone must try.
Tones
Superb. Any review mentioning "rude staff" is utter garbage. C'est Bon is like going home, Celine and her team welcome you with open arms. The food is the main event, of course, and it's wonderful!

Less than average.. Had the duck, dry for my liking. We were sat so close to another couple i felt like making conversation with them if we stayed any longer. Staff were average and it was super pricey for the expirence you got.

Très magnifique!!. My partner and I drive past this restaurant regularly and always comment "we must go there"... so finally we did. I must admit, after checking reviews on urbanspoon, we considered cancelling our booking. Our experience was devine. The service was very good, and friendly, and the food was out of this world. The degustation of entree was delicious, I love just having a little taste of flavours. Our mains, duck ala orange, and rabbit casserole arrived promptly and was beautifully presented. Most importantly, it tasted fantastique (that's french... for fantastic) The beaujolais, Louis Jadot 2009, had me in raptures. By this stage, we were bursting, but could not help ourselves with dessert. Bombe Alaska and Creme Brulee, both delicious and beautiful at the same time. We left, with very full tummies, spare change in our wallet, and deliriously happy. The whole experience had me bursting out into French ... Merci C'Est Bon!!

Food was ok, but staff very rude. I think she is the manager, I'm not sure but she always seems so stressed and a little hard on her staff which makes the atmosphere quite uncomfortable.
Paul Di Guglielmo
Appallingly rude manager/owner. There was glass in my dessert and when I informed a woman who I was later told was the owner, she gave a sarcastic gasp and walked off without saying a word. No one addressed this at all. Pathetic. Aside from the poor service, the food was average and overpriced. Given the other reviews I've read on the site, this place should be shut down to teach this pathetic management and ownership team a lesson in hospitality.

Nice enough place, we were seated on the encased balcony upstairs, and whilst quite tight it was secluded and quiet. Table space proved to difficult in this area though.<br/><br/>Service was acceptable but not what I would call I friendly, also the wait between entree and main was far to long, other service elements were ok I suppose.<br/><br/>Food was hit and miss, for entrees the onion soup was good but the duck salad however was bland with no definable taste (even the duck).<br/><br/>The mains were a little better, the eye fillet was well cooked but the serve was tiny and the salad was dry and not well dressed. The gnocchi was also nice but again too small.<br/><br/>For me this place needs to improve the meals and consider the portions, for $120 I expect to not feel hungry.<br/><br/><br/>Food 4/10<br/>Service 4/10<br/>Value 3/10<br/><br/>Will not rush back.

Great for a romantic night out. As someone partial to the traditional French bistro experience of taste over volume, we decided to try C'est Bon for our anniversary and weren't disappointed. The staff were attentive, helpful and enjoyed a bit of banter which really added to the experience. The three staff that dealt with us all had thick French accents which made us want to keep them talking ;-) The French Onion soup was moreish without being too rich, which was a good thing as was following up with the Duck L'orange, which was so good I was tempted to lick the plate. Finishing up with the Creme Brulee, which was deliciously creamy. Definately recommended if you like traditional French cuisine and ambience.

Somewhat undecided.... We dined here the other night & I really can't decide if the good outweighed the "so-so". Our shared entree was a mixed bag - the escargot was rather bland & uninteresting, Onion soup lovely, the other items were rather forgettable. Mains of Duck & Steak were both nice, the Steak well cooked & flavoursome, the Duck perfectly cooked but lacking sauce/flavour. Dessert of the Tarte Tatin was OK but, with the strange addition of the (over)salted caramel sauce, nothing special. The service throughout the night was attentive but the food wasn't really good enough to warrant the price...or a return visit.

Lovely Valentine's Day Dinner. As we happened to be in Brisbane for a conference on Valentine's Day, my partner and I booked in for dinner at C'est Bon after having read good reviews of the restaurant online, and in keeping with our tradition of eating in French restaurants on Valentine's Day.<br/><br/>We really enjoyed the meal. I loved the potato croquette at the start of the meal, and thought the seafood entree and main were cooked perfectly. I have never had prawns melt in my mouth like that before, they were lovely! My partner was still raving about how good the the rabbit terrine was days later, and we both thought the raspberry meets chocolate dessert was beautifully presented and tasted great. My only complaint about the food is that as my partner was keen for the red meat, I ended up having two seafood dishes in a row (it was a set menu), and I felt like it was just a bit too much seafood, even though it was beautifully cooked and presented.<br/><br/>It was very busy while we were there, and we did have to wait quite a while at times, particularly to order our wine at the start. However, our waiter was friendly and always had a smile for us, and we loved the feel of the place and the decor. We were in one of the booths on the left hand side which was lovely, but I imagine some of the tables in the middle of the restaurant might not have the same cosy feel.<br/><br/>We'd highly recommend C'est Bon and will look forward to eating there again next time we're in Brisbane.

Valentines Dinner disaster. Went in for what we thought would be a pleasant Valentines Dinner and were absolutely disappointed by food, service and overall feel of the place. <br/>The resturant was overcrowded, stuffy and dingy. Walls were dirty and tables were absolutely unimpressive( no real charm or appeal). <br/>We waiting for over 20 minutes before we were served and approximately20+ minutes between courses. Portion sizes were inadequate. The food was substandard, lacking taste and flavor. The Pesto that was used for starters and mains tasted like it came out of a jar as did the tomato paste on the mash. Starters: Rabbit terrine had tiny bones in it and lacked flavor. Seafood cooked in Champaign was shocking. We kept biting into sand particles and prawn gut. <br/>Fish was overcooked and the lamb had a terribly smell. I could not palate this at all. <br/>Dessert was very average. <br/><br/>Service was appalling to say the least. Long delays between courses and less than pleasant staff. <br/>The only time they seemed to be efficient was went we went to pay. <br/>Not worth the prices they charge. Never to return or recommend.

The experience that left a sour taste in our mouths. Watched as a table who arrived after us, ordered and received their main meals before we even had enough menus to go round. That's 1.5 hours if you're counting. <br/><br/>Was very much looking forward to trying some of the menu items but our party made the decision to leave after one very obnoxious staff member raised her voice to our birthday boy. Her reason? Because he had booked for 10 and one person was unable to make it. One person? What was she hoping to achieve getting angry at us in this manner. It was quite a horrible experience that left a sour taste in our mouths. <br/><br/>We asked for the bill to pay for our wine so we could leave. They'd attempted to charge us for bottles that we had ordered which were yet to arrive. Tried to explain this to a male staff member on the way out, but he was too 'busy'.<br/><br/>After reading the reviews below, I'm glad we didn't have the chance to order. The food sounds as if it is of below standards. For the prices they charge, this is not acceptable.

Incompetent Management = Appalling Experience.. This poor example of French hospitality was possibly the worst dining experience I've EVER encountered! Our haughty waitress was rude, disrespectful and, well, haughty! However, I hold the management of C'est Bon responsible for the lack of respect and abhorrent attitude which was experienced.<br/><br/>The manager disregarded our complaints by suggesting that our waitress "is only a waitress' and basically should be ignored. This only reinforced my desire to leave, as I found the Manager's words both insulting not only for myself and my party, but also for her wait staff. I also felt uncomfortable with the idea of eating food prepared by an establishment which clearly does not care for it's guest.<br/><br/>Dear Manager, here's a tip. If you don't respect your staff, then your staff will probably treat your paying customers with the same contempt, resulting in a group booking leaving before ordering; as was the result, due to your poor understanding of the word, hospitality. Unfortunately, this establishment focuses on turning tables rather than providing a culinary experience. AVOID THE HYPE!
Mel
Worst experience.. Do yourself a favour and book with Brent's in Toowong if you want French food. <br/>c'est bon is overpriced with extremely rude staff!!!! Don't bother wasting your time!

Atrocious. Disgusting service! <br/>-Waited 1 hour before we got our first drink. After asking to order them 3 times, but each time they couldn't take the drink order??? why? (we eventually order 4 bottles of wine)<br/>-Asked for a 2nd wine list as we had a party of 10, was refused, and told they don't have enough. It was printed on A3 paper, how can they not have enough?<br/>-Asked for menus multiple times, and didn't get them! Had to get up and find them ourselves. <br/>-Asked to order our food, once again was continuously told, "give me 2 minutes" <br/>- The booking was for 6:30pm, by 8pm we had STILL not been able to place our order! <br/>- Now comes out the young head waitress, and I assume to finally take our order. But no! She has come out to tell off the man who made the original booking. <br/>-This woman is sooooo rude, very unusual. <br/>-The waitress rants on and on in an extremely aggressive manner about him not responding to the follow up confirmation text. Why would this be an issue seeing how we were all there? With that being said, she could have called to confirm the booking (like all other restaurants do) if she was concerned that we wouldn't arrive, which we did. <br/>- Words cannot convey the completely over the top rudeness of this waitress. <br/>Remember we STILL haven't ordered after being there for 1.5 hours. <br/>-She repetitively tells off my friend who made the booking, and this is where I tell her that we will not eat here, we will finish our wine and leave. <br/><br/>- This waitress then decides to argue with me, "no, we won''t be leaving" <br/>I tell her "You are soooo rude, we will not eat here." The waitress continues to argue with me, I tell her to get the bill.<br/>-When she returns with the bill, she starts up again!!!<br/>I have to turn my back to her, to get her to shut her mouth. <br/>Long story short, we left, after sitting there for nearly 2 hours. We walk to a lovely bar/restaurant around the corner, and end up having a great night. <br/><br/>DO NOT GO!!!!!!!!!!!!! <br/>We, as a table of 10, would have spent above a $1000 on dining there that night (based on the price of the food. All mains are $35+)

I dined here for the second time last evening, I really enjoyed the experience. Food was amazing, very typical French! Service was top of the range, will recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Haughty service, overpriced, food seems to depend on the night & dish. It's a relief to read 2 of the reviews immediately below (by AustraliaHouses & The Knitting Tearoom - oh, and by reidy2 further down). I concur with all that they have said, but will add that perhaps things have gone downhill for this restaurant.<br/><br/>We first went when we moved up the road from the restaurant and the meal was good, service fine. On our second visit, the service was still okay (though a bit difficult to understand - sometimes one gets the impression that the accent is unnecessarily thick) - but this time the meals were a bit hit and miss, depending on what you ordered. I wouldn't say that the 'miss' meals were bad, just not what we were expecting after the first occasion.<br/><br/>The last time we went (November 2012), I was so appalled that I have vowed not to return, which is unfortunate because, as I said, we live just up the road & it would be a convenient place for occasional dining. The portions were small (nothing like our first visit), some of the food was simply bland, and the service was atrocious. <br/><br/>I should clarify that last comment: most of the staff were okay but the head waitress (not the older mai·tre d but the younger female) was bordering on bitchy - certainly haughty and sarcastic. I felt like curling my lips in revulsion but the fine decor of course kept them pursed. I certainly hope the restaurant reads review sites like this so it can get feedback. Now my favourite fine dining place is in New Farm, which means crossing the river but so be it! C'Est Bon, you lost us.

Disappointing: bland/small serves/overpriced.. Listed as one of the '5 best French restaurants in Brisbane' we decided to try it.<br/>Upon entering the restaurant, the very strong smell of meat being cooked in some manner was overpowering. Oh well I thought, maybe its a French thing?<br/><br/>The decor was pleasant, the waiters friendly (though as recent immigrants to Australia from France, their Anglais was sometimes difficult to understand) and the seating comfortable.<br/><br/>We went for the lunch 'special': 2 courses $30 or 3 courses $35. The good thing was you had a choice. The bad thing was the servings were all quite small. So we had to order more food from the 'side dishes' section just to feel fed.<br/><br/>The Scallops entree was very ordinary. Not fresh and over-sauced.<br/>The Fish main was cooked well, fresh, but ruined by a mussel infused sauce which just tasted off.<br/>The Soup was the best bit, potato, creamy, light, lingering.<br/>Dessert was average.<br/>Mineral water was $9.00 for one medium sized bottle - not nice.<br/><br/>The side dishes: Mushrooms (about 3 tablespoons worth) very bland; $10.<br/>'French Fries' (about a cup worth) very dry; $10<br/>Both these side dishes were basically a ripoff.<br/><br/>We were so looking forward to this place but the experience was completely underwhelming.<br/><br/>This chef is supposed to be good, according to sites like this, but there was no evidence of his 'goodness' in our meal. Do yourself a favour and avoid.<br/><br/>Food: 3/10. Service: 6/10. Value: 1/10.

Fabulous!. We dined in June. I must admit I look on urbanspoon before making fancy reservations and noted this French restaurant had mixed reviews so I wasn't sure what to expect. Although seated at the table right by the door we received good service, but what was even more memorable was the food. The mains were delicious and the desserts were quintessentially French! We shared the taster platter and the spun toffee was amazing. I would never normally comment on a restaurant's restrooms, but these amenities were first class. Thanks for a delightful evening.

Brilliant night out!. I celebrated my 37th birthday at C'est Bon last night & my guests & I all had a brilliant night out. Celine the manager looked after everything well & made sure everyone got what they wanted for dinner on the night by keeping in contact with me beforehand. All the entree's arrived within minutes of each other & the mains seemed to arrive at even closer intervals, desert arrived in a similar fashion; no small feat for a party of 17 people. We had the upstairs function room to ourselves, our waitress made sure the meals arrived when I was ready, not the other way around (I was VERY impressed with that!) & I got to bring along and play my own music so the mood was just right. I really enjoyed my meal, I had the scallops for entree, canard a l'orange for main & the creme caramel for desert - all VERY yummy. My friends tell me the steak & coq au vin were also brilliant. Thanks Celine & the staff at C'est Bon, everyone commented what a great night they had!

Great. I ate there on 30 August 2012. There were four of us and we were the only ones in the place for some reason. The waitress said they were much busier at dinner. I had the gnocchi as an entree, the coq au vin as the main and the creme brûlée for dessert. The food was great and the wait staff attentive. We had an enjoyable time.

A mixed bag. Had inner there for a french inspired hens night and was left disappointed. The service was great really friendly attentive staff and the water was topped up regularly. However my pain was just to salty. It was bordering on being inedible. I still ate it all as a student who doesn't get a chance to eat out enough I wasn't going to waste it but would not have been able to so it without lots of water. Had desert which left me a bit confused. The apple gelatine was too rubbery and just didn't work for me. I had expected far more!

Francophile. I love C'est Bon having dined there on a few occasions. All of them have been perfect. It is sucha pleasure to receive such consistency in the food and service. The decor is so pleasing and comfortable...no pretensions to anything except hospitality and enjoyment.

Food was very disappointing. My bf and I don't eat out much so we were really looking forward to celebrating our anniversary at a nice restaurant. The service was slow, and after every course they lingered around asking if we enjoyed it, which we mumbled "yes" to because we didn't want to cause a scene. <br/><br/>We both had onion soup which had too many big globs of cheese in it, plus it was ultra salty. The rabbit was very dry, the sauce was strong like a bbq sauce. The lamb was not very tender and seemed to have the same sauce as the rabbit. The mash on the sides were OK, but it wouldn't be hard to make a better mash.<br/><br/>The dessert looked amazing, but the meringue bottom was hard we almost cracked the plate every time we tried to dig out a spoonful - not to mention it was a little embarassing making loud plate clanking noises each time. <br/><br/>Lastly, my boyfriend ordered beer which tasted like wine as they must have been using beer and wine glasses interchangeably. My rose was equally unimpressive, I'm quite sure the bottle had been opened for quite some time. <br/><br/>At the end we paid about $155 for a very disappointing meal. Funny thing was I think they expected a tip after all that, while we awkwardly waited for our $5 dollars change. <br/><br/>The surroundings were so beautiful, but such a shame that the food is definitely not worth its value. Frankly I'm not sure why the place is so busy.
Amyfish
So so.....so salty. The service is good, friendly and quick. Entrees : raviole de fruit de mer… with silky smooth pasta sheets, and yummy flavoured lobster cognac sauce. Snails....salty. Mains ( "duck leg confit" and "chicken") are quite salty. Sorry, we will not come again.

Not as great as we'd hoped!!. Went with bf hoping for a romantic dinner. Service was very patchy - seemed like a bunch of french backpackers running the floor. Food was ok, but not as great as it should have been for the price.
Jenine Beekhuyzen
An absolute gem!. This place is a gem. It's a little hole in the wall but well worth a try. Food was authentic French, with melt in your mouth steak. Decent serving sizes and reasonably priced. Wine was divine, lots of choice from the cellar. Service was fantastic, not too little or too much. Highly recommend you try it, but be sure to reserve as they are not surprisingly very busy! Treat yourself :)

Tres bien. Another of my favourite restaurants. Beautiful decor, friendly staff and delicious food. Good quality for the generous size of the portions. Highly recommend

Not quite cest bon!. We recently moved to East Brisbane, and noticed there were 2 French style Bistro in our vacinity. (SEE OUR BISTROT BISTROT REVIEW)<br/>So we decided to do both, we loved the feel of C est bon its small and charmingwith a hint of class but not to much. But we feel it was let down by the service it was a tad off and sometimes arrogant. The food was ok, but we feel for the prices it should have been better. The dishes we had seemed to lack flavour. DONT order the gnocchi!!! The wine list is terreible mainly full of QLD wines. Yes local is good but not in this case. We will return one day to give a 2nd chance

Twice dead duck. I had great expectations for this restaurant, and we ventured there for a wedding anniversary lunch.<br/><br/>I love duck, hence I chose the canard à l'orange. It was twice cook duck, which was so desiccated it would be better described as "duck biltong" For a restaurant such a reputation, it is unforgivable to serve food of this standard.<br/><br/>My husband ordered the cassoulet. It was somewhat better than the duck, as it was edible. However it lacked any rich flavours and was rather stodgy because of the over cooked haricot beans.<br/><br/>The service was poor. Left waiting to order a drink. We were seated, handed the menu and left without any drink request.<br/><br/>Overall a very disappointing experience, nothing special for a special occasion.
Johnson Shea
Attentive service, excellent intimate atmosphere with well executed dishes. To start off I tried the Lamb brains which were extremely tender and the escargot which was delicious. For mains we had the rabbit which was very tender and the organic duck which was soft and had pumpkin and red cabbage which matched well together. For dessert I tried the tarte te tanin which had a flaky pastry accompained by ice cream that cuts through the sweetness and the passionfruit souffle was much larger than expected but it was puffy and had a great tangy and sweetness to it. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and highly recommend to try.

Feel of France. Located in a heritage listed stretch of shops, small restaurant with classic & simple furnitures set close to each other, feels like in France again. Price are standard for French cuisine and food are great. Been here twice, both were great experince!
The Knitting Tearoom
Worst service ever.. I went to C'est Bon last year for dinner, and it was one of the worst dining experiences ever. Where to start. I ordered the lamb, specifically requesting for the meat to be cooked medium, or well enough so that I will not see blood oozing out. The result? The meat was very pink and surprise surprise, with every cut, lots of blood oozed out. It was, at best, medium-rare. I called a waitress over, who gave a look of annoyance which grew when I told her the problem. When the plate came back, it looked a mess! It looked as though the contents of the whole plate had been tipped into a pan, cooked, then tossed back into a careless heap on the plate - like a dog's breakfast, so to speak. Even the bits of fat I had trimmed off previously were tossed in as well. My sister's rabbit was also a bit rare, but seeing what happened to my lamb, she decided it was probably better to just eat what she could. When it was time to settle the bill, we waited very long for someone to come and collect the signed credit card receipt, and when they did, one of the waitresses literally swooped it up in passing, without looking at us, or so much as a 'thank-you' or an 'I hope you enjoyed your meal, or even a 'goodbye, enjoy the rest of your evening'. I get better service at cafes! <br/><br/>My sister's friend reportedly also had problems with her food on another occasion, and apparently the chef came out and angrily demanded what she thought was wrong wtih the food. Comes to show my bad experience was not a singular case. Beware people.
Michelle Romans
Just perfect. My expectations were exceeded at this restaurant. My partner and I have now been here twice in a few months and will keep returning. The service is wonderful, food and wine options to die for and attention to detail spot on. The coffee to us was fine (I drink plenty of it and know what makes a bad coffee) so I would highly recommend this restaurant as the chef and staff know what they're doing and make every effort to look after you.
Matt89
Delicious. Went here for mid week lunch where they had a special for a three course meal. The onion soup is delicious and one of the best I've had, overall thought the food was good. The lunch special made for good value for money.

Most Boring Place, most boring crowd, staff look pained, food is bland and coffee is terrible I agree with the other user who said worst coffee in Brisbane, it was a tedious experience to eat here

Tres bon. We went to C'est Bon for a birthday dinner and the service, food and ambience was excellent. It is great to know that there are still great restaurants like C'est Bon in Brisbane. I would definately recommend this restaurant to all my friends and I will return to sample other items on the menu.<br/><br/>Thank you C'est Bon for a great french dining experience.

C'Est Bon, Tres Bon!. I have spent a good deal of my life in France, particularly in Gay Pari & I have to say that it was up there with anything from the motherland! Hooray to C'Est Bon for transporting me back to those wonderful times with champagne & delicious food. <br/>The Head-chef did the rounds amongst the tables to enquire if everything was "C'est Bon", which you don't see much these days & with my limited French I rattled off my extreme pleasure. The highlight for me was when he asked my husband if I was French! Even if he was playing up to me, it felt bloody good :-) I say if you want a bit of a France on your doorstep and you want to also practice your French out, go there!

Ooh la la (sorry). Great meal. Wonderful service and beautifully prepared food. The french onion soup was tangy, the steak cooked to order but then the creme brulee...my god...the creme brulee...extraordinary...can't rate this place highly enough

My partner and I went there for our anniversary to try it out since we've both spent a considerable period in France and Belgium and we both thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was so so good we didn't want to even sip the bottle of brilliant French wine we had. The flavors were subtle and complemented every aspect of the dishes we had. We will definitely be going back and we'll be bringing friends to share the experience as it was a culinary delight the likes of which we hadn't experienced since our time in France.

Better then La Provence. Expensive ! good food, small portions except for the desserts.<br/>BYO on Tuesdays - don't be fooled - $10 cockage per perosn, we paid $110 ! for a small group.<br/><br/>Worth the effort if you know what you are going to have and buy a glass of wine or bottle to share.

Perfect Classic French. We dined here last Saturday evening and it was a wonderful experience. The menu is classic French and each dish we ordered was delicious. The creme brulee was a pure delight! Overall, the servings were generous, the staff highly professional and friendly and the atmosphere was warm. Definitely one of the best meals I have had in Brisbane and certainly excellent value for money.

Very disappointing. My husband and I were looking forward to our dining experience at Cest Bon. It was our wedding anniversary and we both love French food.<br/>I know it is a very small restaurant, but the tables are just too close together...not good for a romantic dinner at all. <br/>We had the degustation entree which was quite nice but nothing amazing. They could have provided some more bread etc for the pate and cheese. <br/>My husband had the rabbit which he said was quite tough and tasteless. I had the duck. It was tough and I could not for the life of me taste any orange at all.<br/>Most of it remained uneaten.<br/>My husband had the creme caramel and I had the creme brulee. They were both nice...but nothing to remember.<br/>The foods was disappointing to say the least.<br/>The restaurant does have two things going for it though....interior decoration was nice and the staff were lovely and every efficient.<br/>It was not what we expected (which was something akin to the now defunct Belle epoche) but perhaps we had set our hights too high.<br/>I don't think we will return.

Try montrachet instead.

Great Mistake. We actually booked this restaurant in error. But what a great error it was. We thoroughly enjoyed the authentic French cuisine, the great service and the environment that is the C'Est Bon. The restaurant was fully booked but you wouldn't know it, not with quality and standard of the food and service that was provided. We will definitely be returning and are really look forward to our next enjoyable booking here.

Was so surprise with our meals and my 7 year old child love her entree, main and dessert. She enjoyed her snails
Lovesgoodfood
Delightful. We had lovely mains - seafood soup and fish of the day. Portions on the smallish side, but every mouthful was absolutely delictable. Then there was the poached pear for dessert, divine! Somewhat pricey, but worth it in my opinion.

You been to France? Well try C'est Bon. Went for dinner even after reading all the reviews here. I like to test things myself and knowing people, usually you only write about the bad things, but never about the good stuff. <br/><br/>Let me a few questions first about all the reviews here. <br/>Why do people think it is expensive. Well, I went to coles the other day and went shopping for a dinner of two, just to get the basics. After visiting New Farm markets I was an easy $150 out of my pocket, which I don't mind buying quality, but I haven't even started cooking yet or set the table or washed all the dishes etc etc. Now you go to a restaurant, enjoying a dinner, you have to expect to pay for good products and that is before paying the chef, waiter, cleaner, electricity, gas, rent etc etc. See where I am coming from?<br/>I am not in hospitality, but I do run a business and know how much everything costs.<br/><br/>So, went last Saturday, second seating. It suits us better, because we don't have to get up at a certain time to leave. <br/>the restaurant was packed (of course it is Saturday) and we got greeted by a very happy, vibrant young lady. She spoke in a french accent (of course we are in a french restaurant) and showed us to the table. <br/><br/>I don't want to rave on about the food, but what we had (table of 4) was delicious, authentic french and tasty. Nothing like most restaurants trying to impress with colours and difficult written menus, no just really nice french food. <br/><br/>We chose two bottles of french wines, which we found out are imported by the owner (wow) and very hard to get in Australia. the price was ok, considering all the trouble these guys go through (I am in import and export).<br/><br/>the service was vibrant, fast and always friendly, even it was very busy.<br/><br/>The atmosphere is just like in a suburban restaurant in France. Busy, quiet noisy and tables are fairly close together. Well, as I said, been to France? You should really try C'est Bon. It is as close as it get's! Don't expect, just enjoy the flair of this restaurant. It is fun, interesting, friendly and the food is finesse. <br/><br/>Do I go back. Mmmmh, I booked a table in two weeks for myself and 6 of my friends. That should answer that question. <br/><br/>Happy dining everyone.

Great. I liked it. They had some fantastic wines available. Cassoulet was very good. No complaints from me. However I do like traditional French food. The rooom is a beautiful 2 story brick building with an upstairs room I guess, I didn't see it... only people coming & going. Can get pretty busy on the weekends.

Horrible Experience. We were there on Bastille Day. Overworked and underqualified waiter (who maybe had trouble with English) resulted in terrible service. Orders mixed up, coffee late and some cups cold or not delivered at all or tea given instead of coffee, asked for lemon with tea, had to ask again, then limes given. The entre's were tasty but the rabbit tough and tastless. Worst of all was the chef/owners tirade in front of all when one of our group complained about the service. He yelled at the top of his voice blaming us for changing our orders - surprisingly - very difficult when the menu was set! At $90 per head, I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth (along with the other 9 patrons at our table).

Undecided. I drive past this cute little place everyday. I recently decided i would give it a go. So its a thursday night and fairly busy. It seemed very unorganised and the staff rude, but it may have just been there french way, im not sure. As for the food it was ok, but not what I was excpecting. I guess from what i have heard i was hoping for bettter. I may come back im not sure!

Terrible for the price. Had a rabbit that was covered in what I can only describe as fig jam. The rabbit was a good sized portion and well cooked, but was smothered in sweet fig jam / sauce. Overpriced food, and I'm getting sick of paying sky high prices for average food in Brisbane. This place is typical of the attitude.
Only The Best
I absolutely adore this restaurant, it is hard to get into though- very popular. The food is delicious and authentic with a summer and winter menu. Tasty Cassoulet, Coq au Vin and the best citrus tart I have ever had. Good website too. Go with a booking and an appetite.

Good service but disappointing flavours and overpriced

The French are especially well know for their sauces and bisques, so I'd ordered the assiette de la mer, <br/>scallops, prawns and monkfish flambeed with pastis, truffled cauliflower puree and a crustacean sauce in the hope that I'd be in for a special treat. It was an inconspicuous looking dish with most of the seafood hidden under a vibrant looking bisque but once I dug into the dish and ate my first scallop, I knew I'd picked a winner.

In contrast to the rainy, wet weather outside, the restaurant provided a warm, inviting atmosphere. The air was perfumed with the fresh lilies and the dazzling chandeliers added a certain touch of je ne sais quoi to the whole experience. We enjoyed the experience at C'est Bon. It was definitely a great celebration.

We felt like we're being transported to Paris. :D After ordering our drinks, we were given complementary croquets. YUM! I can have 8 of these.

Unfortunately, aside from a show-stopper soup, I didn’t experience anything at C’est Bon not already being achieved by other French restaurants in the Brisbane area and it’ll have to work hard for me to see its merits over the other hard-hitters.
