Went there twice. I loved the food and the service. Everything tastes fresh and delicious but my favourite was the Greek salad! I'll be going back for sure. Just be mindful that you might need a reservation as the restaurant is busy and small. Also the service might be slow as waiters seem not to be enough when it get busy. Although they still lovely. Highly recommended.

Little Greek Taverna is a great place to take friends and family for a delicious meal. The prices are great for its location and the quality of the food is superb! The lamb souvla was cooked perfectly, fork tender, and full of flavour. The Greek salad was delicious, and I wanted more of it! The staff were friendly, quick and accurate with any requests my group had and with our orders. I will definitely be returning here more!

We made booking for Saturday night at this authentic Greek cuisine. And we are glad we did it, as it was full despite raining. Service was friendly, helpful and accomodating. Food was yummy. They were using freesh of ingredients for foods. We were so sorry not to try chargrilled octopus. They run out of it just before they have taken orders from us. Pitty, it was just 6.15 pm. We have ordered meat platter for two. First bread with your choice of dips, then flollowed by baked cheese amd fresh Greek salad. Meat on sticks was delicious. And all of food was at an affordable price. If you are not in Greek drinks you can BYO. Corcage charge was $4.00 per person. Great place, highly recommending.

Had an amazing meal here last night, huge praise for the staff - they were so helpful sorting food for my little boy (who can't eat solids) and blended down the most delicious moussaka I've ever tasted for him. Great location with plenty of options including a specials menu. Authentic flavours and good sized portions. The octopus and lambs were very nice but need to be hotter. Just little things so easy to rectify. The pork belly was a better temp as were the prawns. It would be good if they were licensed with some Greek wines and beer.

Rocked up Friday night without a booking and our two kids in tow. They found a table and made us feel welcome. Our boys loved the pork souvlaki while we had the vegetarian platter. The meals were quick to come out and delicious. The staff were cheery and helpful. Good value too. We'll definitely be back.

When I eat here I feel as if I am experiencing the culture of a loved home cooked international dish that could only be found in someone's secret family recipe. The food was good, but for a $40 a head banquet, it's overpriced for the amount of food you get. The waiter was also pretty unfriendly. Last time we went (6 months ago) the waiter made our night, but not this time, which was disapointing.

Not the best Greek food I've had, wet soggy pita bread dripping in water and oil our table was on the side walk directly over the run off drain from the gutters so there I sat with water splashing on my legs and my hand bag on my knee! And when we asked to move the waiter advised it's only from the gutters mmmm I'm thinking frogs, bird poo and vermin! Order was also wrong 😩 However my partner enjoyed his 😀

Walk over from the cbd at lunch and walk in. Friendly and caring people using old family recipes at times. The service food price efficiency mix is excellent not one element is excellent but the combination is. Eat the cheese dishes the lamb etc. this is one of a very small number of restaurants where I just enjoy a different dish every time without ever being disappointed. P σας ευχαριστώ

Food quality was really good. The only problem with the pita bread for the dip was that I wish there was more of it because it was so good. The sausage entree was surprisingly really flavourful for the appearance. The mains were really good as well. Only down side to this place in my opinion is that the portions are medium/small sized. Bigger eaters like myself would leave a little bit hungry

Went there for lunch on the weekend. Our group ordered two vegetarian platters , some chicken and some lamb dishes. Food was delicious except chicken which was rather plain. Lamb melted in the mouth. Highlight was the pita bread - warm and freshly made - yum. Serving sizes were on the small size, not generous in the least. The other disappointing aspect was that our crisp mushrooms and zucchini was served well after after we’d finished all other dishes. It would have been at least 15 minutes wait. We believed that they had forgotten this menu item until we pointed it out! Serves was exemplary- welcoming and accomodating.

Brilliant and a gem of a Greek restaurant run as a family business. This place stacks up as a leader in Greek cuisine and holds its own against any Greek restaurant in Melbourne - known for its huge Greek heritage population. It does this and yet you can walk away with a bill that would on average be say a half of what you would pay in Richmond and surrounding suburbs, Melbourne at some of the fancier places. Not only does it offer the ever popular and expected chicken/lamb skewers and dips (so flavorsome!) it takes its offerings to another dimension by combining traditional home cooked dishes into its menu. I had a slow cooked lamb shoulder dish with risoni (from the specials menu) and a side salad. The flavours were incredible and transported you into a Mediterranean mindset as if you were abroad in a Greek friend's mother's kitchen. Authentic, superb, what a shame I live in Melbourne and only here one more night. Approx $50 and worth every cent and more (lamb shoulder, trio of dips with 3 bread serves, 1 side salad) - 2 people. Highly, highly recommended. A Gem.

The tarama dip is amazing with the pita as a starter with the stuffed mushrooms. I couldn’t fault anything! We had nick and the service he provided was amazing. I will preface this review with the fact I had been looking forward to going to Little Greek Taverna for over 7+ months! I had high expectations. Last week, my dining companions and I went for an early dinner. We ordered two Vegetarian Mixed Grills (one with chips, one with Greek salad), one Pork Souvlaki meal (with chips) and a serve of Keftedes. The mixed grills were quite disappointing, the vegetables were cut incredibly thin and there weren’t many pieces. I had seen a previous review and picture of this dish posted on Zomato so my hopes were quite high- the vegetables pictured were quite thick and it looked to be a very filling serving. Compared to the picture, my dish had no lemon wedge, hardly any grilled peppers, mushrooms or eggplant. Overall, I did not enjoy the dish. Additionally, the kitchen forgot about the Keftedes. To their credit, the waitstaff were quite apologetic but the dish arrived about 20 minutes after we finished eating. However, the Keftedes seemed to be quite burnt and they were so salty to the point that no one wanted to eat them. The red onions were not a nice garnish either. This experience was a negative one and unfortunately, I’m not sure I would return again.

Been wanting to try this place for a while after reading all the good reviews on multiple sites. I loved how they have daily specials felt like home cooked meals which is rare to find these days. Every item we ordered was absolutely delicious. We had 3 mains Moussaka, Beeftaki and Souvla and finished of with some lovely desserts (Kataifi) was really good.

I am from Melbourne which is the capital of all things greek so I had to try this restaurant. Whoa is all I can say! It's authentic look, feel, hospitality and food exceeded my expectations as well as the old man greek dancing which was great. To be honest my friend and I nearly ordered everything on the menu as it was so good. I do suggest you bring a bottle of red/white wine to compliment the yum food as it is BYO.

FOOD =4/5 AMBIENCE = 3/5 SERVICE = 4/5 One of the really good greek food Ive had, the flavours were well done, juicy meats and not overdone but not raw either, just really well cooked. Went out with a few friends, vegetarians options are good as well. The haloumi, the lamb chops and the fish is great. Portion sizes could be a little bit more, especially for the mains, but overall one the good greek places, will keep coming back to this one.

My friends had various vegetarian and meat mains different to mine and loved it. I looked at the menu online before arriving, saw there was a stuffed mushroom served with salad or chips listed as a main and decided to try it. I'm a pretty easy-going diner but, even for me (and I don't usually eat big portions), it was a very small dish to be listed and priced as a main, so, unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience for me.

Came here hoping to smash crockery (opa!) but just figuratively smashed some plates instead. Shared dishes our trio demolished were all lovely - hard to fault actually - & terrific value for money. Found ourselves particularly enamoured with the Mykonos goat. So so succulent & tender. Love it’s BYO with a bottle shop over the road & corkage only $2.50 p/p. Only little hitch in the otherwise great service was that our finished plates really outwore their welcome on our table. Fun way to spend a lazy lunch - squeaky haloumi, zesty lemon everything & absorbing the vibrant West End hood, vino in hand. Will return to this casual lil gem.

We were offered dinner at a table which had bar stools over a table and chair setting (assuming they weren’t reserved as they remained unoccupied until we finished our dinner) nor did they bother to give a reason. That staff had hardly anytime to talk to us either. I get that the place was crowded, but then, you should have enough staff to manage customer experience.

Edited my review.....A nice birthday dinner for myself on Wednesday night. The service is always quick here and my barramundi and whitebait was very tasty, as were the feta capsicum dip. The whitebait was very salty though so I can understand another review here mentioning that. However; the decor and interior look a bit worn and maybe in need of a clean. the windows had smeared marks on them and the tiles looked dirty. The staff had dirty looking black t shirts on and I do wonder if the kitchen is clean? After eating at a lot more respectable places over the weekend I think this will be my last visit to LGT. It used to be a lot nicer.

Great service!!! Very friendly staff. She asked me if I would like to sit in the air con area and she helped me to choose the menu since it was my very first time eating here. I had the special of the day menu: dolmades. It was a great food. I really like the sauce. It made perfect combination with the dish. The menu is for 18$ with quite big portion. I am delighted and cant wait to get another chance to try different menu.

Reading the recent reviews, I was a little worried that the quality of the restaurant had gone down in the past few months. However, my fears were soon assuaged after I actually tried the food. The pita wrap was amazing. I got the halloumi. It was flavourful without a metric ton of salt added, and the balance between the bread, cheese and salad was perfect. (I think I ate it incorrectly though, as you can see in the photo where all it's insides are visible) There was a special deal on the day I went, so I got the wrap with a drink for only $10.50. Very good value. However, the normal price is reasonable also. Edit: Upon visiting a second time I realised that the deal is pretty much for letting you eat the takeaway wrap ($8) in the restaurant. It's not actually cheaper.

Another place i've been coming to for years, outstanding food at fantastic prices. The lamb yiros is possibly the best lamb in brisbane, it damn near melts in your mouth fresh off of the spit, while being downed with a generous serving of lemon potatoes. I usually like to start with some pita, tarama, and tiropita, all which i would highly recommend. The specials are constantly updated, if you manage to get a hold of the pork when it's available you're going to find yourself extremely lucky. The staff are always very friendly and polite, and happy to take care of any issues that may arise, i can only recall one time that there was one, and it was when their regular lamb supplier had some issues and couldn't deliver at that moment in time, however a week later it was back to deliciousness as per usual. A great value for money restaurant that is always going to be on my go to list as long as they're in business, and with their great reputation keeping them as busy as they are, i would safely wager that's going to be a very long time to come. Word to the wise, BOOK A TABLE friday through sunday, otherwise you might find yourselves disappointed not to get a seat.

Really great food and vibe! We ordered the lamb yiros wrap and beefteki wrap. The servings were generous and it was affordably priced. The beefteki was beautifully charred. My only gripe was that the beefteki was a tad too salty. The lamb on the other hand, was perfectly seasoned. I wouldn't mind coming back again to try some of their other menu offerings.

ordered lamb cutlets and chips -- lamb was definitely burnt. didn't bother complaining about it since the lamb was still excellently cooked although the burnt taste definitely detracted from its flavour. chips were decent, but wish there had been something to refresh the palate (they offer chips OR salad as a side although i wish they'd offer both). yiros was slightly better because they weren't burnt. wraps were the cheapest so they were the most worth for money since they were generously portioned. service was friendly and professional. prices were decent although i reckon the wraps are worth it more than anything else and not sure if i would come back for anything else. otherwise a decent place.

My friends and I have been coming here for years but our most recent visit has left us disappointed and hesitant to return. Service was great as always and entrees were fine but the chips in our main were undercooked, wraps were smaller than usual and the meat was cold. We have ordered basically the same dish (souvlaki or yiros wrap with chips or salad) every visit over the years and consistency is one of the reasons we have kept returning - we know what we're going to get. Granted it's been a few months since our last visit but the quality seems to have dropped significantly. Hopefully management takes these comments on board and addresses the issue as this use to be one of my regular dining spots.

I decided to come here with a couple of my friends for an early dinner after seeing all the positive reviews here. Unfortunately, the night didn't start well with the waiter seeming quite unenthusiastic to seat and serve us, I don't think we were even greeted at all. When the food came, I was also quite disappointed with the presentation. It was very sloppily presented, especially the calamari dish. Taste-wise, the calamari was below average - it did not taste fresh at all and the olive oil was just clumsily drizzled all over the place, including half my chips. The chips were also sparingly seasoned, and was a bit more oily than I would have liked. I know this place is just a casual dining restaurant but honestly even fast food restaurants can do better. The seats and ambience with the Greek music playing in the background was very nice but was not enough to mask the disappointment we all had.

Fantastic little corner location with additional footpath seating. Great food and reasonable prices make this the better of the Greek restaurants in the West End. Be sure to make a reservation as getting in can be difficult without one even if your a twosome.

We've eaten a couple of times here and found it disappointing both times. We had a platter to share: the pita bread was really soggy (see the photo), the lamb over cooked and the chicken under cooked. Our friends also remarked that their food was oily and not very pleasant. Generally the flavours aren't as fresh and vibrant as you'd like - there are definitely better Greek places in the area

It was our first time in Brisbane and this is the first time we tried Greek food as well. Got a recommendation from a friend saying Little Greek is a very good place so we tried it on the first night we here. Food is really good, quick service, nice atmosphere. We love the Greek Salad, simple but amazing. I forgot the actual name of the food that we had but the vegetable one with cheese was really good. There are so many Greek restaurants in West End. This may not be as 'cosy' as others but it's definitely atmospheric and the best value for money! Excellent quality of food, great service. The vegetarian share plate for 2 is amazing and $38 is such a great price for what you get!

Scrambled Ebs

It was our first time at Little Greek Taverna the other night. We ordered the Cheese Bread and Spanakopita for entree and the Florinian for Two and beef meatballs for main, with pita in place of the complimentary french bread. Little Greek is BYO but there is a bottle-o close by. The cheese bread was okay - the bread was fresh with a tomato sauce and crumbled feta on top. Our personal preference would have been for the bread to be lightly toasted. The spanakopita was quite delicious. The main was okay, the meat wasn't super tender but it was tasty enough. The cheese that comes with this platter is really nice. The food was more than we needed for 2 but we did consciously over-order to try things. The positives are that the food is decent, the prices are very reasonable and our waiter was really lovely. Downsides would be the table location close by the road. Whilst I do admit to preferring Lefkas, Little Greek is great value.

Love the fresh herbs! As always, the halloumi was grilled and nicely dressed in lemon, herbs & olive oil. The pita bread and red peppers dip was great too. I also got souvlaki pork skewers which had a nice flavour but were a bit dry. The food is very reasonably priced and the service is fast. Definitely a great place for share plates too.

A Brisbane favourite with good reason. If you can get a seat here you will be served cheap but delicious Greek fare by friendly staff. The couples meals are very good value, remember to add a pita bread. The spanikopita is the best I've ever had.

Food here is delicious. My personal favourites are the halloumi and calamari which was crunchy on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. Octopus, lamb skewers and Greek salad were all delicious. Must try this place out!

So I finally made my way to Little Greek Taverna for dinner and ordered lamb yiros with salad and pide with taramasalata. Didn't get the crispy shavings of meat that I usually would associate with yiros. The meat was instead soft, tender and moist with a lemony olive oil flavour. It tasted quite okay, but certainly is never going to be a favourite. The salad was nice and fresh and the bread was thick and warm but not as soft and fresh as say as what you get at Lefkas Taverna. The taramasalata was satisfactory. Overall, not a bad meal, but Lefkas or the Yiros shop are ahead of the Little Greek Taverna when it comes to yiros. Ordered my favourite galaktoboureko, and it was delicious as usual. As I've said before, the galaktoboureko form here is the best I've had in Brisbane.

This is my first time to a Greek style restaurant. The food is pretty good and the staff is friendly. My friends and I really like the crispy fried mushroom. At first, we feel like it'd be a waste to deep fry the mushroom, but surprisingly the mushroom is juicy with the yogurt and chive sauce, it's the best entree I have tried from this restaurant. The meat dishes is also nice with the Greek salad, especially the meat's juicy. However, the cutlery seemed to be not so clean as there are some marks on it. Had Sunday lunch at this renowned Greek Restaurant. Maybe my expectation was too high because I found this restaurant always packed with diners. Ordered the Lamb souvalaki + salad, Lamb cutlets and Octopus. Overall Lamb dishes were too dry without moisture and also they lacked of delicious taste. Serious let down should be the octopus, which was too tough and dry. Maybe I had bias from the best dish of Octopus at the Greek club but this restaurant definitely could do it better. The dessert of Galaktombouriko was a negative again, whereas the filo pastry that wrapped the custard did not make me any surprise..... I think the only positive is that the price is quite fare. However, I have to say that I did not enjoy the dining experience, sorry..........

Had dinner before the rugby test. We had a couple of dips with flatbread as starters and two of us had the lamb shanks from the specials menu. They were great. The other two had vego meals which were large, fresh and tasty. The waitress was super attentive and friendly. Very reasonably priced restaurant with good quality food. Sat outside and still managed to stay dry and warm despite the rain.

I came here with a friend recently for dinner, and although we had a reservation they had to move a few people around to fit us in. I really liked the vibe of this place, very social and sitting on the street is great for people watching but everything felt very rushed, like they were trying to get us to leave as soon as possible. The service was quick and the waitstaff were friendly and efficient. I got the vegetarian mixed grill which was fine but it was quite oily, even for Greek food. I wouldn't write this place off though, I would love to come back and try some other dishes here because I have heard really great things.

The octopus for share is soooo yum, it's tender and the sauce is a little bit sour so it's quite appetizing. The Moussaka is good too, it is soft but it is just a little little bit salty for me. Overall, it is a great restaurant.

Great find in west end. Went for a Sunday lunch with friend here. We ended up choosing this place by chance and boy were we pleased. We ordered goat a lamb dishes and were really happy with what we got. The place is quite small and thats what probably makes the food tasty. This place is definitely worth a revisit.

Well !!! The day I landed to Brisbane, I went out in search for good dinner and luckily I landed up to this place since I was residing near to this. Thanks to Zomato !!! I think the place would be always full in the evenings coz there were few empty tables and I was there pretty early, say by 5ish. Ambience - 4/5 Food - 4/5 I had the chicken souvlaki pita Service - 5/5 thanks to Sabrina for suggesting yummy food. Anyways, must try place for everyone around. The Little Greek Taverna is my family's stand by Greek restaurant in Brisbane. It can be challenging to get a reservation, but we find that if you are willing to show up early (5:30-6pm) and promise to be out before 7pm, they can usually squeeze you in. When it is just my wife and I, or a group of friends, we plan further ahead to get a 7-8pm reservation. I could just eat Haloumi and Saganaki for a meal, especially the one they do in honey...yummy! The plate of chicken yiros is a favorite for all ages. Great value - highly recommend.

Came here tonight after reading all the good reviews. We shared the kefalograveria saganaki. It was yum. I had the chicken yiros with salad. It was very nice and tasty. I was full but not a huge serve. My partner had a lamb yiros pita and a chicken one. He preferred the chicken. Most tables were reserved but we got a table easy at 6pm.

One of the staff is so rude. I asked her is there a toilet around, she said yes, then just walked off into the kitchen. Another waitress is nice enough to pass me the toilet key and gave me directions. And when I went to the counter to pay, she saw me from the kitchen, didn't say a word, just kept doing whatever she was doing and let me standing there waiting for quite a while. Then when she came out, no sorry about the wait or anything. And the food, the fish dish is very ordinary, the fish is not fresh at all. Extremely disappointed

MASSIVELY Overpriced!!!!! Ordered LGT take-out. Spent an ABSOLUTE PACKET. We ordered five dishes, expecting to get a feast for three people. There was barely enough food. It was so disappointing. The bread was even soggy. Granted, the food was tasty. But, there is NO WAY I would recommend this place as 'value for money.' The containers were woefully empty, I actually thought it was a joke. I have such a bad taste in my mouth (figuratively speaking) after having Little Greek Taverna.

I used to love this place... But now I find it just mediocre. All the "crispy" entrees (e.g. Mushrooms or zucchini) are just chucked in the deep fryer, which they never used to do. I do like the barramundi and lemon potatoes, but everything else I've tried (and I've been here heaps of times) is quite standard.

I have wanted to try this this place for the longest time and it didn't disappoint. I ordered a haloumi wrap with veg and i never thought something so simple could be so delicious! I could have just eaten the pitta bread, it was spongy and soaked in all the flavours of the filling. My husband ordered the Santorini chicken, it was citrusy and tasted like Summer, i will be ordering that next time!

Fantastic. I love this place. Love the atmosphere, staff & especially (& more importantly) the food. I've been here about 4 times (went again today), once again, I wasn't dissapointed. On our first couple of visits we enjoyed our meals soo much we even went in at the end to compliment the manager / front of house. The service is always pretty slick & staff seem genuinely warm. This very likely a family affair. Even some of the very young staff members are knowledgeable, smiling & efficient. I've now tryed quite a few things on the menu. My favourites are the terropita (?), it's pastry & cheese deliciousness & the lamb yiros. While the plate of lamb isn't always aesthetically 'pretty' (it's a plate of bbq lamb after all) it's mouthwatering & very filling, it comes with a really rustic, Chunk version of a Greek salad. The Lemon potatoes & goat dish are all winners as well. I like this place soo much I even had my Birthday here last year. Booked a table on the day for 15 without too many issues. I highly recommend it. I'll probably be back again in the next couple of months as now most of my best friends are in love with the place as well. btw, It's fine to BYO & there is a very good bottleshop across the road.

From the savoury Souvlaki to the crumbly Kataifi, this genuinely Greek taverna is the perfect West End haunt to bring a group of close friends and enjoy a good night out. We went for one of the banquet menus and loved every dish. The meats were tender and full of flavour and the dips fresh and tasty. At $35 per head it was great value for money too.

Awesome suburban Greek restaurant that always seems to be busy - Thursday night was no exception as every table was full. Value is excellent - $35 banquet menu had everything you wanted. Dips and flatbread; calamari and octopus; chicken, pork and lamb souvlaki; lemon potato and Greek salad plus dessert. Came here a little while ago for dinner with family and have some mix feelings about this place. I initially thought prices were quite cheap but when the meals came out, it made sense; serving sizes do reflect the prices. Not necessarily a bad thing, just something to be aware of as big eaters might need to order some sides. Speaking of sides, we ordered a bowl of chips to share before/while we had our meals but they never came out until we had all finished our mains. Some of our drinks weren't delivered either until chased upon. Numerous excuses were thrown our way but it was pretty obvious what had happened. When the wait staff are more concerned about making long conversations and being overly friendly like we're long lost relatives with every table in his or her section, certain items and basic service are bound to be missed. Not really an issue, just a bit of an annoyance really. Food itself was delicious though. I ordered the goat special and it was very tender and sauce was full of flavour.

Been to Little Greek a few times and it never disappoints! Food and service is always great and portions are good for what you pay for(very affordable). You can taste the authenticity in this food (especially the char grill in the souvlaki) I would recommend ordering a few dishes to share to make the greek experience more special. Definitely book for 4 or more people during busy periods as this is a small restaurant. Cannot wait to return back to Little Greek!

This place is on the corner and is always packed. Reservations are definitely needed. The decor is clean and polished and the tables are simply set which is fine. Service is friendly and professional and during the busy periods the wait is a little long but they do get back to you! Food is delicious and full of flavour, clean and fresh tasting to the palate.

Really overrated is all that comes to my mind. There's so much hype surrounding this place. I've tried to give this place multiple chances to meet up to its local celebrity reputation and glowing reviews but i'm underwhelmed every time and the most recent visit was sadly no exception. I wanted to introduce Greek to my partner so took him to Lefkas even though there are a bunch of other Greek places in West End. I thought I might give them one last try and see i'd change my mind about them after 2 years but it just turned out to be an expensive lunch. We could've definitely gotten more value for our money at Ouzeri's. We ordered the stuffed mushroom as an entree which was a single portobello mushroom for $7.50, a "share platter" for $36 and $3 extra for pita, even though the platter really should've come with it in my opinion since the platter didn't have much variety to begin with. The share platter was really overpriced for what it is: a dip, some chicken and lamb skewers, greek salad and grilled haloumi. $3 extra for pita bread. You can get a much more satisfying platter with greater variety at Ouzeri's just down the road for $44 (pita bread included) which has: grilled haloumi, sweet red peppers, mushrooms; dolmades; hummus and zhakziki dip; greek salad; feta cheese; spanakopitas; marinated butter beans; and sundried tomatoes. I know this doesn't have meat, but the platter at Ouzeri's ($44) is just so much more satisfying and more generous than the one we had at Lefkas ($36+$3 pita). Would I go back again? No; not when there are better places within a stone's throw for less money.

Don't understand what the bad reviews are on about.... Service was great on both occasions when fiancé and I went for Saturday and Wednesday dinners. We didn't have a booking on Saturday and it was full house but we were attended to quickly and had a table ready in half an hour. The spanakopita and moussaka were excellent. Byo!

Overcooked. Heard this place used to be good but had over cooked lamb and pork, over seasoned too and tiny servings, they've moved to a tapas style menu but if you got 100g of over cooked steak in a restaurant you would not be happy. The salad was just chunks of tomato and cucumber drowned in olive oil, have to say the chips were good but not sure if they were just frozen chips or not...

Little greek value. Went here some time ago after hearing so many great recommendations. Ordered chicken and lamb souvlaki plus greek salad and chips. Bit into the chicken souvlaki...nearly all gristle..terrible...couldn't eat it.. OK, now it was the lamb souvlaki's turn...bit into it..gristly..terrible. BOTH were totally disgusting. Told the waiter to get the manager who offered a free dessert. I didn't accept this and just said I was refusing to pay as the quality of the souvlaki was totally unacceptable and disgraceful Just who is running this kitchen and trying to offload such pathetic food. Being Greek i know my souvlaki and this offering was bad. My partner's souvlaki was, funnily enough, OK. Couldn't wait to get out of there and never will return. How this place has got many good reviews beats me.

Whatever the reason, we finally made it to Little Greek Taverna and came away wondering why the hell we stayed away for as long as we did. Being on the fringes of the eclectic West End, Little Greek Taverna seemed to attract a varied clientele of family, friends groups and couples seeking a good meal and conversation without yelling over overly enthusiastic bands or singer/song writers crooning on guitars. There simply isn’t space for live entertainment. And besides, the vibe at Little Greek Taverna and their service staff was a no-monkey business to seating and feeding its hungry punters quickly and without fuss. We dropped in without a reservation and were fortunate to grab a table for dinner. Well-worn tri-fold menus encased in thick frosted plastic were handed over with a laminated sheet of specials for our inspection, and it definitely didn’t take them long to deliver the goods after taking our order. Garlic prawns to share. AUD$15 The SO wanted to start with the garlic prawns to share, but our entire order arrived at the same time, which was fine by us. Served simply in a tiny frying pan that might only fry up two eggs at a time, the pile of these plump and juicy sweet prawns could have so easily been overcooked or overpowered by the strong garlic sauce they had been tossed in, but the balance was perfect by our account.

What happened to the feast?. Love LIttle Greek Taverna but they seem to have a new system which has seen the shared plate serving sizes decrease. The value for money which has made them so appealing in the past has been sullied with this approach. I will go back to retest because the food is delicious. I probably just won't take friends there to share a feast.

So good I'm not sure if the negative reviewers were actually at the same restaurant... The service was friendly and efficient. The food is proper Greek food, the kefalograviera saganaki was (crispy, tasty, deliciousness) amazing and the lamb souvlakia was tender and full of beautiful Greek flavours - I work just down the road and will definitely be coming back.

Normally I don't usually have a liking for sour dishes, but this definitely opened my eyes. An interesting note that I made as well about Greek food, was that despite it appearing to be quite small when served on the plate, it turned out to be rather filling.

Big let down!!. I've been here a few times now and have always enjoyed the food and the bohemian vibe of a footpath table on the streets of West End. My last visit however was a complete disappointment..from the "Specials" menu with half of the dishes, (mostly my favourite ones), ruled through in black felt pen, to the very chewy, dry goat dish and the fiasco of a pre made bougatsa, microwaved into a leathery, rubbery, burning hot mess!! Honestly, a perfect bougatsa takes about 10 minutes to cook fresh! It seems to me that the success of this place is leading to complacency and that is leading to a drop in quality and that will eventually lead to a drop in custom. I won't be back.

Fantastic Group Banquet!. I recently held my 26th Birthday party at Little Greek Taverna, and was very impressed with both the delicious food and excellent service we received on the night. I had a large group (around 20) people and the staff were very accommodating with respect to the setting up of the tables and seating, storing everyone’s wine and making sure the whole experience was pleasant. We ordered the group banquet ($35 / person) which was absolutely delicious, more than enough food for everyone and came out in an orderly format not too soon or too late. Overall 10/10 for both the food and service! Thank-you Little Greek Taverna!

Little Greek Taverna - live music is an understatement. Our first and last visit was on Friday night. I am all for creating an ambience, however, when the music is SO loud that you can not converse at the table without yelling - well that is not a relaxing dining experience. The menu was basic and cheap ... No problem with that, however, having the main come out whilst one of our group was still eating their entree - not on. The food was average - but for the price just ok.

I'm afraid to say we were disappointed, the dips tasted sweet almost bought in rather than freshly prepared?! The yiros was tasteless and rather than thinly sliced pieces of meat with a slight crispness to them as yiros should be, they were merely thicker slices of meat with hardly any flavour. The lemon potatoes were so sour, it was like eating a lemon, rather than a nice citrus flavoured potato. I'm glad we didn't share a main as the portion size was an entree size for $15.00. We don't usually complain but Little Greek is definitely not very authentic nor good value for money.

My husband and I LOVE this place. Meals are fast, service is efficient and the price is unreal for a 'we don't feel like cooking tonight' restaurant meal. BYO is also a great perk. You've got to be lucky to get in at the last minute but it's always our first choice when we want to eat out. Eggplant moussaka is amazing!

Excellent food, excellent service what more can you ask for?. This place was amazing! I'll definitely be coming back! I had excellent service from the waiters! In particular Michael and Kriakas(?) (his name was very Greek). These boys knew the menu and were able to answer all the questions I asked them both including making some great recommendations ie: octopus and a chicken special - these were our meals! Fantastic flavours! Very authentic! All in all, service was perfect and staff were extremely friendly, food was even better than perfect and I can't wait to get back there next time I'm up in Brisbane! thanks Guys for the excellent dining experience!

Best dinner in a week in Brisbane. Was the best meal we had in Brisbane out of the ten resturants we visited. On a Tuesday night walked past and tried to get a table but could only get a table for 45 mins (they were fully booked) so decided to book for our last night on Thursday 4th of December. So very glad we made that choice. It was the best of all the resturants we visited and also the best value. As a group of three we ordered a selection of the smaller dishes and shared them all, some were only two piece plates that we cut up and others were dishes that could serve a larger number. All of us enjoyed them all and can't wait too get back there again to try dishes that we hadn't ordered. Simple but great food, lots of flavour, service was great for price bracket in a very busy place. Would highly recomend it as we could not fault anything, all the staff were friendly and knowledgable about their products. Coming back to Brisbane next week and will book again as soon as we know our itinary, can't recomend this resturant enough, live on the Sunshine coast and so want them to open one near us.

Love at first bite. It was either the garlic prawns or lamb wrap which caught my eye on that buttery december evening. It was my first date with my now current boyfriend of almost a year. Being the food snob I am, I was judging his choice the minute we walked in. What can I say? It worked a treat! The atmosphere was every bit relaxing with an older man playing the saxophone to dull the passing cars. The service was impeccable with a nice greek waiter tending to all of our needs. I would highly recommend this place if you're after a reasonably priced yet delicious meal that's a little different to the standard thai/italian feast. So put down the typical pad thai and carbonara and step out of your comfort zone and into this greek taverna.

Wonderful service and great food!. We went on a whim last Saturday night to West End for some Greek food. The lovely guys at Little Greek Taverna managed to fit our table of seven in and by focusing us on the quicker to prepare parts of the menu, got us fed and out in no time. And the food was lovely! To die to sagnaki. Wonderful Taramasalata with pita. Authentic dolmades (massive). Great vegetarian options like the grilled mushrooms. And succulent tender tasty roast lamb. Bring me the fetta!. We were greeted as soon as we walked up. We were ask if we had a reservation, as per usual, we didn't. The greeter told us to wait whilst he saw the manager about any free tables. As we stood there for 5 minutes or so, we had 3 other staff ask if we need assistance. A line had slowly built up behind us, as a greeter returned we were told they had a table only until 6:30, which we were fine with because we were seeing a movie at 7. We were then seated in a cramped corner around the side, with a view into the prep area. I was disturbed that the man prepping wore nothing to keep his rather long hair out of food. We then had a waitress introduced herself and then take our drink order. She returned briskly and ask if we were ready. We asked for more time. Time in which another party was seated in her area, which she served promptly, bring them there drinks and then taking their orders. By the time they'd finished ordering, we were ready to order. However she walk straight past us and didn't return for several minutes. By the time she came back I was starved. We ordered 2 dips, TZATZIKI and TIROKAFTER, which came with french stick bread, which was obviously bought from the Coles across the road. The Tzatziki was somewhat watery and the Tirokafter was similar to a salsa that missing all the chuncky bits of tomato and capsicum. We then had the SPANAKOPITA, which was delicious,but a little over done. Spinach and fetta in scroll of puff pastry, garnished with lemon and (I think) Thyme. My partner who hates spinach, loved it. The lemony flavour lingered on my tongue. All of this was barely able to fit on to the tiny table. As for mains, we did not receive them until 6:20. 10 minutes before we had to leave! And the group next to us, that had walked in 20 minutes after us, had received and finished their meals but the time we got ours. I had order the LAMB SOUVLAKI and SALAD, which was also marinated with lemon. It was well cooked, juicy and soft. And then I had the salad... Now I am a big fan of Greek salad, there is nothing I love more than creamy, salty fetta, crisp cucumber and ripened tomatoes. But this FETTA, oh my good God, it was delicious! I've never had a fetta like that! The only thing is, you just get one slab of it. You can get more in a little bowl for $3, but I wasn't willing to flag down the waitress to get any more. My partner a a Lamb Stew, that I cannot for the life of me, remember the name of. I tried it, and it tasted like any other Lamb stew I've had before. There was nothing outstanding about it. So we paid, this cost us around $62, and it was quite a big eat. Definitely go back for more fetta!

Wonderful!!....... Loved this little taverna in the middle of West End!. Great food and so reasonably priced. Service was faultless, atmosphere was relaxed but at the same time buzzing with loads of diners, especially for a Wednesday night! The pistaccio or however you spell it, the lasagne. Was awful. Pretty much all pasta, no flavour, and hardly any meat. When I did get to have a mouthful with some meat it was dry and resembled plain fried beef. No sauce. Ugh just so disappointed.

Just what we were after!. After eating at an Asian restaurant around the corner the night before and being very disappointed, grabbing some take away from the Little Greek Tavern was by far a better decision! Great yiros pita!. I've only had the chicken and lamb yiros pitas from here, but let me tell you that they are really, really good. And at only $7, exceptional value. Oh, and if you like haloumi, then it's definitely worth paying $4 more for a very satisfying lunch experience. I'm keen to try other dishes in the future.

Excellent. Our family of three adults & four children under 11 dined at the Little Greek Taverna on Sunday 27 April. The service was second to none and the food was excellent. We were able to feed our family of 7 for $100.00 which included both entrées & mains. The portion sizes are generous as we could finish it all. We highly recommend this resturant as a great place to take your family for quality Greek food, excellent service and very good value for money.

Attended on a Saturday night, was a bit worried about some of the reviews however my experience was amazing. We arrived around 20 minutes before our booking (having a later dinner) and were seated immediately. We had a share platter of pitas, dips, feta, olives & sweet chillis which was amazing (by the time we got there they were out of hommus and eggplant dips), also had halloumi and crispy mushrooms. All could not be faulted. We ordered 5 mains and a side to go with and all came out within about 10 minutes of the entree's all were amazing and could not be faulted. Staff were attentive and helpful and all in all was a wonderful evening.

Fresh, delicious and great service. My husband and I went out for a date night and tried Little Greek Taverna. I ordered the mushroom for starter and it was juicy and tasty. Hubby ordered the Tzatziki dip and bread. I ordered the vegetarian main meal with haloumi, Fried zucchini, roasted eggplant, capsicum, mushroom and side greek salad. A taste sensation. So fresh and yummy. The eggplant was a little to lemony for my liking but with the saltiness of the Haloumi it worked well together. Hubby ordered the meatballs as a main and I quote "They are ridiculously tasty". I had a freedo? iced coffee no sugar or cream and it was a stunning hit of coffee. Hubby had dessert a baked semolina, custardy, filo thing which was sweet and a great end to a fabulous meal. we sat outside and found the atmosphere of this bohemian suburb thrilling and a great spot for people watching. 5/5!!

Wont be back in a hurry. Tried it last week and it was a bit so-so. The lamb which was their house specialty was just ok, yes it was cooked till it was so soft it falling to bits but flavour was lacking. Octopus at $15 was just one big huge chewy (overcooked) octopus with no sides. $10 for salad was nice but small for the price. The highlight was the kids meals! Lamb and chicken souvlaki with chips which were quite good. I am not quite sure why it is always so packed, maybe we were unlucky with our choices.

Flavoursome flood. Ordered the crispy fried mushrooms ($6), garlic prawns ($16) and a coffee frappe ($3), only coming to $25 for very reasonable serving sizes. My girlfriend and I shared the dishes which were full of flavour. The only thing i can criticise are the mushrooms which werent crispy enough. The staff are friendly, however one staff appeared to be new as he referred to another co-staff to take our order. He was also slightly awkward to be around, but certainly not uneasy. Overall woohooo to this restaurant, will be coming back weekly after indoor rock climbing.

Worst eating experience ever. I cannot fault the food it was very good although not as good as Char Char Yiros & heaps more expensive here too, but that didnt concern me... The staff were absolutely hurrendous, upon arrival because we hadnt booked we were made to wait on the street for half an hour with no attention, the manager had no regards for her customers just their money...When we finally got seated we were told we had to be quick because they needed the table which was just basicallly rude... Half way through our main course the bill was put on the table which I found strange when I asked why they put the bill on my table halfway through a meal I was told again we need the table... We weren't offered coffee or desert just basically hurried us out... When paying the bill I didn't have the exact change so I had to give extra, the manager just walked off with the money & put it in her till and carried on, when I challanged her for my change she said she thought it was a tip, I said why would I tip for an unpleasant dining experience & poor service she then said thats my opinion & that it is wrong... Then they had no change in the till to give me my change back so in the end I had no choice but to tip them... The manager has got no respect for customers or their values & is basically only interested in taking people's money & not offering the best dining experience you can get... Rubbish place do not go... Go to Char Char Yiros down the road, better food better staff & a really good atmosphere

Small portions, ordinary food. I have heard a lot about this place and finally tried it yesterday. Judging from their rave reviews elsewhere they must have a good marketing manager, because for $25 we got a few very bland dips with a small serve of pita, together with 6 olives and some peppers straight from the tin. The mains were laughably small: $15 for a few chewy pieces of lamb with a mini Horiatiki (incl 1 olive). The other $15 dish was a single (!) thin 5 cm leg of octopus (I would estimate it at about 50 grams or so). When I complained, the ever-smiling waiter informed me that 'there was nothing he could do for me'. Lesson learnt: Yes, at Lefkas or the Greek club mains are $25 instead of $15. However they are three times the size and a lot tastier! We wish the Little Greek Taverna good luck in the future and await an angry rebuttal from 'questionablesites' :)

A disappointing experience. I took friends here on Saturday night after an enjoyable experience several months ago. Perhaps its the New Year syndrome? At 8:30 I could understand all beef dishes being unavailable, but running out of potatoes? The Mezethes entree was good but uninspiring but the real disappointment was the mains. The octopus portion was what you would expect for an entree and on the chewy side. The paltry Greek salad accompanying didn't compensate. The scallops were good but again a small portion. And it wasn't just us - a Greek party next to us were making disbelieving jokes about the portion sizes. Won't be going back.

This place is awesome with an incredible balance of flavors across some very interesting dishes. ========================================================== Wow the three "Doesn't like it" reviews on the front are written by significant examples of "the Amateur Diner" and they are the dregs of the cultured world. - This one really takes the cake!!! Apparently lived all around the world but then this "......as it is apparently busy during Saturday evenings...." - NO EXPERIENCED DINER goes out on a Saturday night and expects good service from highly popular, high volume restaurants, only an incredibly ignorant Amateur Diner does this! Go to your McDonald's and KFC for your meals in the future! - "Tried to ring them and make a reservation for a small group of us several times over the course of a day" - this buffoon was probably calling during the most busy times of the day for their busiest day of the week, "it's called a walk in" you fool, it is extremely rare that a "small group" can't walk up to any restaurant and get seated!! - "The first time I have left a restaurant/cafe without eating. Annoyed." again a pathetic revue based on bread and the impatience of an Amateur Diner. Nowhere do you note how busy the place was for your 30min wait.

Couldnt even get there. Tried to ring them and make a reservation for a small group of us several times over the course of a day. Phone line is always either busy or they just dont answer. No voicemail facilities to leave a message, and their website explicitly forbids you from emailing them to make a booking, saying you must phone in to book. Gave up and called another eatery nearby who were only too happy to answer the phone and accomodate us.

Very Disappointed. This was our first visit as a family to this restaurant and we had booked a table in advance as it is apparently busy during Saturday evenings. Well it was busy and after we had been seated at our outside table we were offered the standard menu as well as the specials menu. After 10 minutes of looking at the menu and deciding what to order, the waitress serving us returned, however she started by telling us one of the specials items we wanted to order was no longer available. So we ordered something else - she returned to tell us this was also not available!! Long story short this happened 3 times and then we were told to rather select something from the daily menu..... Clearly the waitress was responding to the kitchen however in my view this is just poor service, and so we made the decision to leave. The owner tried to make excuses for specials no longer being available, but having lived all around the world this just would not cut it in any first world city. We will not be returning and will certainly not be recommending it to any of our friends.

Dinner review. I loved going to Little Greek Taverna. They are busy for a good reason, because they are that good. So don't feel they are being any less accomodating when you walk up to them with no booking before hand. They are genuinely busy and others have made bookings. Book atleast 3-4 days in advance. It can be a little crowded outside, but that's ok as it creates a good atmosphere. It's quiet enough in Brisbane as is, it's good to be surrounded with a decent crowd. The lemon potatoes side is a neat touch, the chicken skewers are always quality. Friendly staff and prompt service. Highly recommended.

Pretty average for vegos. Nothing to really complain about, but nothing to really rave about. It's not easy finding somewhere decent and interesting to eat as a vegetarian in brisbane. If you melt feta cheese on everything it will taste good, but there isn't much creativity. The dips were good, not amazing. The bread was very good. I ordered the warm salad which I expected to have some more vegetables but it was 90% onions and tomatoes with some feta melted on top. A good side dish but lacking if you are trying to order a few little plates to make up a meal. The lemon potatoes where nice also. You can byo which is great so if you wanna drink, eat some dips and grilled meat then this is the place for you. There are probably lots of good meat menu items but I'm writing reviews for vegetarians and vegans.

Best Greek in town, although bookings are recommended as they can be full days in advance. Service is friendly, food is fresh and the pricing is quite reasonable. Great for lunch. Not all menu items are available all the time, so prepare to compromise on that point. Some great specials on offer, my favourite is Feta Meli (a slab of feta deep-fried and drizzled in honey - great entree).

Great Friday night. We came at 8pm without a booking, the place was off course crowded. The Friendly host Yani, Took us to a nearby trendy bar to have a drink whilst waiting. Yani Came back to get us when our table was ready. We were delighted by such great service. The food was excellent and prices inexpensive. The table attendants were helpful and friendly. Right now it's BYO and you can get a bottle of wine just across the road at celebrations. Well in all a great night and will come again

Disappointing. I have been a few of this place for a few years now but last night, I was very disappointing and I have to say, I won't be rushing back. The starters were lovely, as always, but they were also lacking any sort of seasoning. We actually were adding salt to the tzatziki, which is completely unthinkable. Our mains were the Lamb & Chicken Souvla and the Lamb Shank. The lamb was tender but it needed the tzatziki for flavour; the chicken was very oily and to be honest, I couldn't actually work out what cut of chicken I was eating and the lamb shank was ok. The service was incredibly friendly and helpful as always but the food was a very big let down and not up to their normal standard. I really hope this was just a bad night for them and if we choose to go back in the future, there will be a vast improvement.

Hmm.... Okay, firstly I have to say an 88% Like rate either means people in QLD have No idea of what Greek food should taste and look like, or the restaurant has Paid hundreds of people to like this place. I do not like this place, and I will tell you all why. My aunty ordered "Arni Lemonato" (Lemon Lamb) which was supposed to come with poatoes and salad. It came with a Lemon Sauce with Potato mushed into it, and was quite Vile. Tasted like a Roast you buy ready made from Coles. The dips were 100% NOT homemade: Taramosalata (Fish Roe Dip) did not have a Fishy-lemony flavour, and the texture was was too creamy to be homemade. The Melitazanosalata (Eggplant dip) was Revolting: Definately Either Black swan dips of one of these bought varities, with hardly any eggplant flavour, overly creamy. The Entree of BOUYOURDI was not was the name indicated. It was Tomatoes, onion and a tiny amount of peppers with feta cheese...Where was the Kasseri? The mushrooms? The green peppers? IT tasted like tomato paste. My main, thankfully - was quite delicious. Papoutsakia (Eggplant Sliced in half and stuffed with minced beef, spiced with Nutmeg, and Tomatoes, garlic & onion). This was the only dish that Represented Greek food. Even the Tiropites (Cheese Pies) were too soft inside -Reminded me more of a Pastizzi. Overall not a good example of Hellenic Cuisine, Management really need to change their attitude and Present more of an authentic experience. For Greek cuisine: I Would rate this place 4/10, only because of my Main course.

Mixed feelings. I recently celebrated my 40th here. Food was good, nothing out of the ordinary, but with only a 2hr seating limit the meal was very rushed and staff were constantly prompting you to hurry up and eat and get out of here. Definately not a relaxed atmosphere. Being seated on the sidewalk, it was extremely noisey and had put up with a neverending run of buses puffing out pollution over the table. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant in a hurry.

Yamas. Lovely West End restaurant that offers quality Greek cuisine at reasonable prices. The service is friendly and knowledgeable, with a nice atmosphere. This is our go to Greek place when we want to meet our friends in a central place, or if catching a show in South Brisbane or the city. Try the fetta meli - fried fetta that comes with honey for an entree, truly sublime. High quality dishes, with a good selection for everyone. Definitely recommended.

Excellent food and service. We came here with a large group and we were all absolutely delighted with this place. As we had about 15 people, to make things easier we got the set banquet meal and everything was delicious - succulent meats (I believe we got three different meats as well as seafood!), fresh salads, and great sides of lemon potato and breads with dips. Portions were large and satisfying! Service was fantastic, our waitress was very attentive and friendly which pleasantly surprised me. Sometimes with large groups you can tell some wait staff just want to get you in and out but we had excellent service the whole night. Highly recommend this place!

Good for large groups. Pretty decent food, definite bang for buck. My only gripe is the chicken tastes like it has been mixed or cooked with lamb, which I do not eat. The smell/taste permeates through any chicken dish I order. Stick to vegetarian if you do not like lamb chicken Update 2-3 years later. It's still good but sliding downhill. Or maybe brisbane has lifted its game. Staff are great, fit out looking a little dreary... My usually amazing spanakopita was frozen in the middle and the chicken still tastes like cow/sheep. We order the platters now and everyone is happy -they are huge and good to pick at with wine

Loved our experience! We have been trying to go to Little Greek Taverna for a long time but was never able to get in at short notice. Wish we had have been sooner! We shared the Group Banquet and the food came out very fast. Can't believe the amount of food we got for only $35pp. The freshness and quality of the food was exceptional. We received great service despite the staff being run off their feet as it was so busy. Looking forward to going back!

On the favourites list. Great evening had by all. Our man waitress was fabulous, as were the others that came and gave a hand. The food was lovely ... felt like home cooked meals. Not overly flash. But good-excellent. Desserts well received except for the angel hair?? Bland. All others, fabulous. Because it's BYO, it would help if the wait staff all knew where the nearest bottle shops are. The only problem I had was when the they tried to seat us outside, when I had specifically booked an inside table and had confirmed that. But it was sorted out without too much drama.

Incredible. I have been to Little Greek Taverna twice. The first time was with my boyfriend for my birthday. The staff were incredibly efficient and knowledgeable and the food was quick and delicious!! The second time i went it was with my family who were extremely impressed! Love this place to bits!. This place has it all; cheap meals, good food, byo, great location, wonderful service and wonderful atmosphere. I have visited this little restaurant at West End more times than I can count and have had an assortment of dishes. On my last visit I started off with Mama's salsa dip and a feta and capsicum one, both served with Pita bread. Both were delicious! For mains my friend order the Lamb stew special and it tasted fabulous! The meat was literally falling apart on the fork and the stew had a beautiful flavour. I went for one of my favourites, the chicken souvlaki with salad. I don't know what seasoning Little Greek puts on their souvlakis but it really is tasty. Not a huge fan of greek salads even this manages to tantalise my tastebuds. An absolute winner and a West End institution!!!

Failed to impress. The decor is clean crisp and seems inviting, however I have had better food. The staff are reasonably friendly but didn't go that extra mile that you expect when paying this much for what's really just entree size portions. It appears to be well priced but when you add up all the extras you have to order just to be satisfied it is expensive. I was ignored when I wanted some service, the next table with girls on it was obviously more important than mine. I don'yt think I'll be back.

Best Greek in Brisbane and one of Brisbane's best restaurants. I love Greek food and have tried most of the restaurants in Brisbane. Nowhere comes close to even touching upon the quality of the food at this restaurant. Each dish is immaculate and created using fresh and quality ingredients. Each meal is not only delicious, but healthy and luscious. The lamb souvla is an absolute bargain at $15.00 - a large, succulent and tender piece of lamb with greek salad/lemon potatoes. I recently went on a trip to Europe and the food at this restaurant was some of the only I missed whilst overseas. Absolutely must try! Can not rightfully call yourself a Brisbane local until you've eaten at this restaurant.

Dolmades Heaven. This is one of my favourite places to take a bottle of wine and go for a relaxed meal! Service is friendly and if Mama is cooking the dolmades well it is all over! They are the best! You can have a really good meal and the cost is very reasonable. Highly recommend.

Fabulous new menu item. Hi. I was one of the first to try a new menu item at this terrfic Taverna. Its a tasty pork dish called 'Pilino tis Viglas''. Well designed, cooked and presented, it will be a favourite for a long time, particually in the cooler months. I shared a lunch with some girl friends and was appalled by the amount of oil on my food. Upon mentioning this to the waitress I was rudely given the answer "this is Greek, if you didn't like oil you should have told us" I felt this is my first time here? I asked for the dessert menu but never actually received it until I had paid the bill and was leaving. Right from the start I had a very unpleasant time here. I Love Food

It was our first time at this gorgeous gem! Everything about it was fantastic. Food was smacking, nothing to fake. It was exactly what Greek food is, simple, minimal ingredients yet an abundance of flavour. Service was immaculate and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I don't quite understand some of the negative reviews about the place. It's definitely not over priced at all. We will definitely be back and will most definitely be recommending this restaurant to friends and family :-)

Glad we chose to go to the this little Greek gem. Firstly the staff were great and prices leave your wallet feeling good too. The food was fantastic, nothing fancy but a great example of good fresh quality ingredients cooked well and not over complicated. Yum food, great service!. If you are lucky enough to get a table without a booking (they book fast!) then you are in for a treat! We've only been at lunch a couple of times as it is always busy and booked out, but their food and service is really outstanding. Traditional Greek items like Feta with honey as entree and wonderful Greek coffee make this place a standout. Our servers both times were very knowledgeable, helpful, and cheery. Their meat always seems to be good quality and not too fatty. The prices are pretty reasonable too!

Little Greek Taverna - West End, Brisbane. Impossible to miss, Little Greek Taverna is right at the mouth of West End and displays itself conspicuously with 180 degree exposure. On any given day it is packed with diners; to even have a fighting chance of getting a table you need to book - or so most people would think. I went here on a Sunday at lunch-time with my mum and we managed to get a table off the cuff by a few minutes; it was nearly noon and soon after people began to spill in to the restaurant making it almost full in a matter of minutes. Little Greek Taverna is aesthetically very simple. There is only really a kitchen and paying area inside so most of the tables are outside - the way they are arranged is very interesting. Upon the sidewalk are numerous tables are lined up to the extent of the length of the restaurant (where I sat was this) and along the balcony area are seats lined like barstools. This gives it a bit of character, along with cementing it as a casual place to dine - being a fraction of a stone's throw away from the main road as well as having a lot of pedestrians walk by you does make it interesting. Despite the busy service here, the waitresses were very calm and gregarious. They showed enthusiasm in waiting the tables and for the food; in fact, they showed no annoyance when asked about the food and were more than willing to explain it. There were also a number of small gestures (upon request) that they did with a smile. Food came out in decent timing as well. My mum and I chose the "Ionian Blue For Two" platter which consisted of; A Dip Of Your Choice (a sweet pepper dip was chosen) Haloumi Horiatiki Salad Chargrilled Calamari Choice of either garlic prawns or prawns saganaki (the prawn saganaki was chosen) To begin (before ordering) some bread was given for nibbling while waiting. It was probably a standard French loaf that can be gotten from the supermarket. Very bland, I gave it a small bite before deciding to wait for the main course. The main course was a lot better. As usual, the haloumi was well received; this one was milder than normal in taste and well cooked. The chargrilled calamari was tender and delicious with generous sprinklings of herbs and lemon. It was cooked just the right amount of time. A Horiatiki Salad is essential a vegetable salad consisting of cucumber, tomato and raw red onion with olves, chili and feta cheese. With the odd exception of the strong flavours of olive, feta cheese and the chili the salad essentially was what it was - a selection of raw vegetables. Raw vegetables are really my forte. Prawn Saganaki is prawn in a spicy red salsa. They were robust in flavour and delicious; as was the red pepper dip gotten with the platter. However, the two choices were quite similar which is more fault of ordering than anything. On the side, we got some pita bread but there was not enough given the amount they could have been used for as well as the fact that they were edible on their own. Afterwards, it was time for dessert. There were a couple of desserts that were on the menu - macaroons and one that I forget the name of, and that is the one I chose. It was not unlike galaktombouriko, with custard-filled pastry warmed-up and drizzled with honey. The combination of tastes was dynamic. I had a hard time cutting the pastry with only a fork and had to get a knife. This was a delicious end to the meal. Accompanying the dessert was a straight frappe without milk. Overall, there was a small lot of cold espresso given the size of the glass but it was very tasty. After hearing a lot of the hype about the Little Greek Taverna and seeing how popular it is many times, I was more than willing to give it a go. The reviews and hype do not disappoint. Not once did the waitresses make you feel unwelcome. I am very lucky that I managed to get here so readily and I will make sure that I can get to here again.

Shared entrée was just ok, whereas the mains were kind of dry & bland. This is not the LGT we know! We had dinner on the footpath right next to the Boundary Street bus stop and the diesel fumes was unpleasant. Bit average. Got the yiros and tzatziki and bit of Souvlaki in general the food lacked flavor, definitely they need to consider garlic and herbs and spices. The tzatziki tasted more like a bland Rita. The chicken in the yiros was almost like a shaved chicken breast from coles with no additions. The souvlaki was ok. I think in general i would opt to go to lefkas next time.

Delicious & cheap!. I ate at Little Greek Taverna last week and was happy with the overall experience. It was freezing cold and pouring with rain and whilst we were sitting outside we were under cover and had a heater and were actually very warm. We had pita bread with dip to start, I had slow roasted lamb with Greek salad for the main, and my friend who is vegetarian combined two entree's and had the crispy zucchini and stuffed field mushrooms. Both were delicious and at great prices.

Hmmm just average for us. Just a little personal opinion in amongst all these glowing reviews. Our experience was definitely a three out of five star introduction to this place. We came on a Sat lunch. The service was faultless and friendly, the prices great, the place was buzzing and it was lovely sitting in the sun. Not having been here before we chose the two couple platters..this was a mistake. While the chicken souvlaki part was great, the lamb was way dry,chewy and luke and overcooked, and I suspect, pre-prepared and reheated, ditto the octopus on the ionian(fish) platter which was chewy , and I found the use of frozen prawn and commercial crushed garlic in the garlic prawns an absolute deal breaker for me. This is simple food, with simple pure flavours and it (and us the customer) should be treated with more resoect, especially in a Greek restaurant where good lamb and octopus should be a given! I suspect the popularity of this place has lead to taking shortcuts. Heads up operators...you are not getting away with it...its definitely showing. We may give this place another go, as our experience seems quite different to everyone elses...dont know at this stage. Baklava was awesome tho. So hit and miss on the basics, I just dont know....I'm disppointed as I am still searching for a stellar Greek feed in Brisbane....

Amazing!. I went to Little Greek Taverna with 7 others on 28 June 2012. The food was amazing (as usual) and the service was unbelievable. We were served by RUTH and she was so attentive and came to us at all the right times and when a new person arrived at our table, she came straight away to give them a wine glass etc. When she went on a break, she came out with an ice bucket with the beers that we'd brought - in case we wanted them while she was on a break!!! Such a lovely girl - she should be acknowledged for the great job she did. This wasn't my first visit to Little Greek Taverna, and it certainly won't be my last, either. I'll be raving about this place to everyone I know!

More than a little disappointed with my meal today. we were served a dry portion of french stick and were not sure what to with it as we had no butter or oil and it came on its own? the halmoumi was okay, needed lemon. the lamb souvlaki was cooked very well, but if it wasn't for the meat juice with lemon and herbs that it was swimming in on the plate, it would've just resembled lamb cooked on a stick, nothing souvlaki about it. the prawns were frozen out of a cardboard box, way overpriced and covered in an almost raw, possibly jar minced garlic sauce. a few hours later they are still haunting me. the flat white came out as a latte in a cup (there is a difference, it's not just the cup it's served in thank you) and was lukewarm. i came here on a recommendation of a friend and i've got to say the crappy food and the waiter who spoke to us so insincerely like she 'loved' her job and was above us, is a combo that i won't be trying again. very disappointed.

A Place That is 100%. WOW - What an experience! We dined at the Little Greek Taverna (LGT) on May 10, 2012 - after reading about it on urbanspoon... This place is amazing. I honestly could not fault it. The staff were extremely attentive - without being overbearing. The food was delicious. We had several dishes that were enthusiastically recommended by our wait staff (Diana). The best way to sum up my experience at this restaurant is to say that it reminded me greatly of some of my best dining experiences in the USA. For the LGT - I am talking about the way this business is operated. The staff and managers are so switched into their clients needs and nuances - it reminded me very much of how staff and management treat you in many good USA restaurants. Over there, its often all about getting a good tip at the end of the evening - (and there's nothing wrong about that); but at the LGT - it seemed to me the place was humming under its own mojo; including terrific leadership/management. This seemed to spur on the staff / client relationship as if each staff member were part of a team of joint-owners - vs "just another wait staff somewhere, schmucking it out til close time; on $10 an hour cashy...." Which is otherwise the experience in some establishments in this country... I wish this place all the best of successes.. It is a blueprint as to how to run a successful (and profitable) business (of any kind) in Australia.

Fantastic every time. I've been here several times and every single time I've had a fantastic experience. I've so far enjoyed the lamb souvra, salad, horta, tatziki and piperys dip, spanakopita... Amazing value for money and cooked to absolute perfection. Staff are consistently friendly, knowledgeable, attentive and even on the busiest nights I've never had to wait long for a meal. The only downside was the single shared toilet around the corner that always seems to be occupied.

I came with quite a large party (about 10-15 of us) at 7pm on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately. We weren't pushed to order, even though they were very busy (as always). Once we were ready, we were informed about the specials, which the waiter knew a lot about and was happy to be honest about (what's not so good, what's amazing).We ordered, amongst other things, the cheese and roasted bell pepper on bread (literally the most amazing starter I've had for a long time), the three cheese pastry (nothing outstanding), trio of dips (not bad, regular supermarket type fare). For mains, we encountered a bit of a problem. Three out of us picked things which we were told were good, only to have the waiter come back and say that they've run out. Now, normally this annoys me quite a lot, and it particularly annoyed me since Lefkas is always so busy and has been for quite some time - you would think they would be prepared. And it wasn't even my choice of main they were out of. Eventually, of what I can remember, one of us had the lamb souvla, one had the special spiced meat balls, one had garlic prawns, one had fish and salad, and I had chicken and salad. Everyone was super happy with their mains, and I even tried all of the above and thought they were all tasty, excellently seasoned, fresh, tender, came out hot (temperature wise), and large sized portions. My chicken was amazing, so tender, so well-seasoned, and just beautiful and crispy on the outside. Surprisingly hard to get so right these days. The greek salad accompaniment was also excellent, and they weren't stingy with the feta like some other places. Only thing I would point out is the excess olive oil drizzled on the plate (it's a Greek thing - if you don't understand, you won't ever appreciate it). I was super happy with my main, and none of my friends had any commplaints with theirs. The food absolutely blew my mind, and quickly had me forgetting the unorganised and unacceptable nature of "not having" various menu items at a restaurant.The service was excellent. The waiter joked with us, was very honest, provided his opinion, was impressive with his knowledge relating to items on the menu, and refilled our water jugs constantly. We didn't have to ask for a single thing the entire night. We stayed for about four hours (I know) and didn't get pushed or our plates cleared away early once.While the decor isn't that great (especially since most people are sitting outside - I actually couldn't even see whether there was tables available inside), the ambience was excellent. They had a live Greek band there and the waiters and waitresses (and whoever wanted to join) began dancing the traditional Greek dance around the restaurant, linking arms - very entertaining and very West End.Overall, an excellent night. Very happy with most things, and those which were a bit unexpected were at least recovered by the service, ambience and food. Very reasonable prices. Booking at this place is a MUST. And if you're like us, you might get lucky and have the African man come past and talk about the city in the sky to you until the waiters call the code red and usher him away. You'll know that I mean if you've been.

A Northern Greek Platter was the choice from a menu with plenty of options. A great variety, pork, beef, chicken, greek salad and my personal fave the halumi. We love it here!!! My husband and I come here often. We always order the same thing which is the BBQ prawns which are big, juicy and full of flavor! The chicken tiros on a plate, fried zucchini and haloumi cheese. Cost about $50 and is amazing! We have bought our friends and some have loved it and some not so much. I think it depends in what u order. I ordered scallops one time and will never do it again they where horrible!! Staff are lovely! The little columbian girl is so sweet! I definately recommend.

My experience. Been twice with my girl and on both occasions i was extremely disappointed. The second time we went we ordered entree's and mains, entrees came out quick and while we were eating our mains came out. Had to ask the waiter to send it back while we finished our entree. Best Greek Food in Brisbane. Little Greek Taverna is a cute little restaurant in West End. Can not get over how delish all the food is here. A few negative things though: On two ocassions, although on the main menu, Yemiste was not available. I also dont like how cramed the seating can be and wish it had a slightly bigger space. Having said that, I have always had an amazing meal here (try the octopus and the lamb) and for the price, it can't be beat.

Go early. Went there on a very busy Sunday at lunchtime and they were out of some of the things we would have liked to have tried. Everything good and fresh and lots of chef's specials. We'll have to go back to try some of the more popular dishes.

Disappointed. After never being able to walk off the street to get into this restuarant, we finally made a booking and took some friends following the excellent reviews. I was really disappointed by the quality of the food. There are other better greek restaurants in Brisbane. Maybe they were having a bad night, but I ordered the octopus and it wasn't fresh. My husband got a souvlaki and not so crash hot either. Having holidayed in Greece and eaten in other greek restaurants, this place was below average.

Great spot. I've been a few times, and each time has been memorable. The food is tasty. hearty and satisfying, and the staff are so incredibly patient when explaining all the unfamiliar terms on the menu, even though I imagine they have to do it 99 times a day. My most recent visit was with a larger group and we took part in the banquet. Super value, there was more food than we could eat and none of it disappointed. Maybe the lamb souvlakia were a little dry but in the grand scheme of things who really cares. They were delicious and everything else was fantastic so that sort of thing fades into insignificance. The staff were lovely and welcoming, and very attentive, which is impressive considering how busy it can get there. Can't wait to come back

Super spot. Heaps of people and great atmosphere. Staff are switched on and provide great service. Outside dining is very good. The food also delivered. Pita and a red capsicum dip with dolmates for entree went down well. The serve of dolmates was huge- biggest I've ever seen. For main the char griled salmon was very tasty sided with a Greek salad. It was a little bit oily but still tasted great. Well worth a visit!

Firstly I am insulted that my prior comments about this restaurant have been taken down..if you are unhappy with what people are saying, then don't delete, maybe just fix the mistakes that your management make on a regular basis. I have been to little Greek a few times and before I decide on what to eat I wait for the waitress to inform me of what is unavailable. Which is normally half the menu. Unorganized and unprepared restaurants aren't worth going to..I recommend walking straight past little Greek, you'll find a better meal in seven eleven!

Unfortunate Bad Food. After looking at their brilliant reviews, I went there for lunch last week, 3rd November 2011. However I was severely disappointed. I don't believe my standard for food is high and exclusive, to say that I don't like the food must mean it really was bad, which I am sorry to say. Perhaps it was the chef that day but whatever it is, three out of the two dishes I had were not good. I had the Pork Souvlaki which was tough. I eat two pieces and stopped because it was just too hard and dry. The salad of tomatoes and cucumbers was good but I believe the main star of the dish was supposed to be the Pork Souvlaki. We then had the Chicken Yiros which was better than the pork but was over-seasoned resulting in very salty chicken. Didn't like that either. I had the Stuffed Mushrooms which was pretty good but not exactly stellar. However that may just be my personal preference because I found there was too much cheese for my liking. All in all, it was, in my opinion, a wasted trip. I doubt I will be going back again which is a pity seeing as this place seems to be so popular and well-received by others. I guess I was one of the unlucky few.

Who could stay cranky here?. I've been to the Little Greek Taverna on a number of occasions as I live locally, and every time, it's been a delight! I'm not exactly a "foodie", but I know a good cafe when I eat at one, and this place is wonderful. The food - you can read other reviews if you want the details - is great, but what is really impressive and makes me want to go back again and again is the atmosphere. The wait staff are such "up" people, they make you feel like there's not a problem in the world, and they RUN between tables! On Friday night (and maybe other times, but you'd have to check with them), they have lively Greek music, and I've found it's simply impossible to be in a bad mood in this jolly place. I love it!

Best Greek in Brisbane...if you can get a booking. Most Greek restaurants in Brisbane serve overcooked, dry meat. All the meat I've had at Little Greek Taverna has been tender and cooked perfectly. I eat more vegie and seafood dishes and my partner meat so banquets are difficult. You can order by portion here so we both end up happy and it works out the same price as a banquet. Service is impeccable. I did not enjoy my scallop dish, the manager apologized and refunded the amount. I was impressed. BYO too!

Great food, especially loved the selection on the Greek platter for $65!! The only downsides is that the restaurant is not licensed and there is no fried calamari. Staff are attentive but somehow left with the impression that they were rushing the food out so we would leave sooner as there were customers waiting...a bit awkward!!

A Little Winner!!. My wife and I have enjoyed many wonderful dinners at the Little Greek Taverna. The food is absolutely delicious, especially the fresh, tender seafood dishes and refreshingly unique salads, but more importantly, the service is always excellent. Great food - fast service - Yet again!!. Second visit as a dine in customer and once again the food and value for money was exceptional. Although the restaurant was busy, the food came out fresh, hot and delicious and our table of seven were filled up with delicious Greek fare within 30 minutes of ordering. We followed the waitress's advice on the "specials" both for entrees and mains and shared the meals. All dishes (except the kids meals) were delicious. Would have liked the kids meals served earlier i.e with the breads or entrees and would have preferred that the main meal sides were served in separate bowls with the the mains maybe served platter style. There was too little room on the table with all of the separate mains (that were being shared) served on individual plates. Would definitely go back though as this restaurant must be Number 1 for "Cheap Eats" in Brisbane!!!!

THIS IS THE BEST PLACE EVER!!. Went here for my mums 50th birthday- my sister booked ahead and they said they would sing happy birthday for her. WELL. We ate HEAPS. i mean, 5 people ate a mass amount of entres and mains. Describing the food as spectacular would not give it justice. This is the most delicious food I've eaten in my life. The icing on the cake: They played happy birthday for my mum AND gave her a free cake! Our party looked at each other like 'who organised this?'. They organised this out of the goodness of their hearts. The cake was delicious also. Thank you so much for the best dining experience ever. I will always come here when I am in west end. The staff also get 10/10- so nice. Oh, after we we're super full the bill only came to $130. We almost fainted. I cannot recommend this place enough. GO HERE NOW. YES YOU. Good Greek.. This place is one of those rare gems. You know, cheap, delicious, friendly staff, efficient service, etc. No wonder why the place was packed to the rafters on a Tuesday night. We started with a large greek salad and spanakopita - the salad was generous and the spanakopita wasn't as crisp as i would have liked, but still yum :) Then was lamb yiros, zucchini fritters with tzatziki, spicy peppers and tomatoes with feta, and stuffed field mushroom topped with feta; all under $10 each, were all very satisfying; but next time, I would order some pita to soak up the lashings of olive oil and juices seeping from the dishes, and perhaps less cheese...it was getting a bit salty. Anyhow, all is good when desserts are all less than $4. This is my kind of restaurant!

Average. The food was pleasant without being great. Both entrees and mains arrived about 2 minutes apart. Our waiter was nice and also quite happy to explain or suggest dishes. Our main of scallops had to be sent back as they were undercooked and we were taking no chances as we had two pregnant women at our table. (We were still charged for this meal.) Unfortunately the head waitress abbruptly told us to get out at 7:55pm as more people were coming. She did this with no apology or regret.

It's no wonder it's popular!. We recently dined at Little Greek Taverna after a recommendation from a friend. We were delighted with our experience. The food was lovely (can recommend the Dolmades with Rizogalo for dessert) and we couldn't believe the value - essentially a 3 course meal for two people with a drink for $50. The atmosphere was good and the staff were excellent, bubbly, and very attentive. Our meals came out in a flash. We look foward to returning. Definitely recommend. :)

Pretty good!. I went to Little Greek Taverna just yesterday with a friend. Between the 2 of us, we ordered an appetizer (tiropita), a main (dolmades) and a lamb souvlaki wrap. The tiropita which was a baked feta cheese pastry and the dolmades which was rice and meat in a cabbage wrap was really really good! Highly recommended. Unfortunately, I thought the lamb souvlaki wrap was only so-so and it was why i wouldn't give this place an excellent rating. So if you're planning to go here, order the appetizers and the specials. Wraps are forgettable and not worth ordering.

Amazing staff and food...but ruined. I recently dined at this little haven in the middle of west end's Greek distric. I was quickly greeted and seated with my group of 4 people on a table outside. Firtsly i thought it would be way too cold however the "industrial strength" heaters did provide a good deal of warmth. I don't think that i should rant about the food as ive been here many times and it is always constant, but i do think that the staff need a round of applause. They were so cheereful and ready to help us in whatever need we had. They had an amazing attitude and were very fluent in the menu items and able to suggest great amazing meals (even though there were so many item not available, which i don't think is acceptable for ANY restaurant, if you're low on food, order more, this ALWAYS happens here)...... Unfortunately we were present for what seemed world war 3 between a kitchen staff and off-duty waiters????. It totally ruined our experience of this fine restaurant and made us wonder about coming back in the near future.....I myself looked to the floor staff who inbetween this event continued to work without making a big deal of the apparent situation ( well done to them). Other than that, great food great service....just a little dissapointed !!

Little Greek Taverna,,,come to Melbourne!. My wife and I decided to get away for a long weekend about a month ago...heading north to Brisbane! Apart from the usual "things to do" in Brissie - Dream World, Sea World...we also ventured to South Bank and West End... They say that Melbourne has some of the best Greek Restaurants outside of Greece - I would agree. That is, until we stumbled into West Ends "Little Greek Taverna". I'll admit that I'm a sucker for family owned and run restaurants...so...after speaking to one of the lively staff, I soon found out that both parents were cooking up a storm in the kitchen and their three (adult) children were running the show outside. Both my wife and I ordered. Then ordered some more. The food was nothing short of devine: the dip and pita bread, calamari, marinated octopus, garlic prawns, saganaki - we ordered it all! When each dish arrived, my taste buds went into overdrive, prompting me (or the better half) to order something else! The food at the Taverna would easily make Garry, George and Matt (Masterchef) weak at their chubby little knees. After ordering desert (yes, we managed that too!), I asked for the bill - Ok, wasn't looking forward viewing the damage! BUT, it was so reasonable! Hugely impressed! The food was simply some of the best I've ever had here in Australia, the staff were not only friendly, but managed to keep patrons entertained and...well, if Little Greek Taverna was based in Melbourne, not only could they easily charge more but all the restaurants on Lonsdale St would have to lift their already high standards! Keep up the good work guys!

No Pita Bread......I don't think so. The Little Greek Taverna may run out of special items due to a restricted kitchen space and allocated portions from its Specials Board (Or Kouzina section). Which when I asked about this concerning aspect was greeted with a warranted explanation by the exuberant waiter Dimitri. It is the aspect the restaurant will not compromise, as I was told, and its about maintaining is daily fresh, market available produce, but never in my countless dining experiences has the best pita bread that you can find to wrap a delightful souvlaki or yiros in ever run out at the Little Greek. The one thing every greek restaurant in town would guarantee would be their wraps (inclusive of the pita bread surrounding the internals). I mean these guys have run out of the free fresh bread before and when this has happened, they have ended up serving Pita Bread in its replacement out of respect for the traditional greek requirement of having bread dished out on a table, it would never occur the other way around surely. If a greek restaurant offering take away wraps, dips and "something" to put them on ever runs out of Pita bread, then they are guaranteed to shut their doors and close for the night. To end this note, that fluffy soft greek pita bread that all greek cuisine restaurants serve down in west end is just devine. Yummy! I too have eaten across Greece and am Greek myself and I find the amount of Olive Oil that's drizzled across plates at the Little Greek Taverna and ALL other Greek restaurants in West End, usually not as ambitious as those "splashes" back home. Bottom line, if you want to eat great greek food, I find, like most Greeks that you have a bucket full of options in West End. All the Greek cuisine providers down there deserve a pat on the back for really raising the bar in the last year!! Finally, a greek restaurant packed with greek people and a table full of food is often a good sign of a good place. So when in West End, pay each one a visit and follow this final word of advice and which ever restaurant you eat in, It certainly will be better than "Not the Best Geek Around". Location isn't an objective, look for a table with lots of polished off plates!. Happy Hunting Guys, I did my hunting a long time ago and the only restaurant I frequent is our very own Little Greek. Keep up the hard work down there guys!

There's definitely better Greek in West End. This place is always packed which I assume is more to do with it's prime location on Boundary Street than the cuisine. I've been a few times, and had different food on each occasion, and while the food wasn't bad, everything was drowned in Olive Oil. Now I know olive oil plays a big part in Greek cooking, but having spent years traveling around Greece, I've never come across it to this level. The standard crusty roll provided was stale every time, and once I was told they had no pitta bread!!! It's not a terrible restaurant but there are much better options for good Greek food in West End.

Well-priced and (mostly) delicious!. I was so excited to try this place, for months on end. The flavours of Greek food just seem so hearty, tasty and appetizing. Like comfort food! And the prices for the quantitiy is amazing. The place is always buzzing, so you definitely need to make a reservation if its for a Friday or Saturday night! I guess word spreads fast. The staff is pretty nice, the waiter we had was knowledgeable but a little hasty. The owner seemed grouchy when I got there but soon after he smiled and chatted to the patrons. Onto the food, I bought a tad too much unforch. Stuffed mushrooms (two large field mushrooms with a tomato and herb sauce pretty much) and Spanakopita (like cheese and spinach pastries) AND the haloumi pita.There was always fresh bread on the table too. I filled up a little bit too much on the bread beforehand, so getting through my meal was a slight challenge. I really liked the mushies however they were a little 'wet' or a tad too juicy which isn't how I like my mushies - however some people do. The Spanakopita was really lovely too, the flaky pastry was just so good, but it was a little on the salty side and not enough spinach for my liking. However the star was definitely the haloumi pita. A generous amount of haloumi with a really wonderful thick pita that was very soft. Nothing like supermarket brands which are often dry. The dressing was really nice too. Tangy but very mild and creamy. Everyone's meat and fish looked incredibly delicious too and everyone mentioned how tender the meat was. Definitely want to go back. Tempted to try the fish and salad but I want the haloumi pita again!

Always a winner!. I go here all the time, both for takeaway and dining in. It is affordable, the great quality of the food is really consistent. The staff are relaxed and friendly, and make good menu recommendations. I love this place. Live music on weekends. Just book in advance!

AMAZING!!. The first time i have ever been here or heard about this place, and it was the best overall dining experience i have had in a long time - and i do not say that lightly!! The service was excellent - very friendly staff and super efficient - everything ran like clockwork. The food was absolutely amazing and for once the serving size actually filled me up too! For a venue of this calibre I would normally expect to pay double what I did - the prices were very reasonable. Without gushing too much - this redefined my definition of a great dining experience. I will be back many times to come!! Good on you Little Greek for doing such a great job - keep it up!

Awesome. The Little Greek Taverna is the most amazing restaurant I've ever set foot into. The food is fantastic, all home made with love. INCLUDING the sweets ,YUM! Since the end of 2009 Little Greek Taverna has been the hotspot of West End. The owners are extremely generous people as well as amazing cooks !! The fact that the restaurant, (well taverna as the name suggests) is family owned just adds to the experience. The owners and staff give their very best to make sure everyone leaves the restaurant well fed and happy. I myself would know as I have been blessed to work for the Little Greek Family. The food is always at its freshest and Baba (Petro the cook) always puts his heart into every meal he cooks, getting up at 3 in the morning to make souvla the most popular dish on the menu (amazing lamb dish btw!) It is still on the small side space wise and people tend to forget that... The kitchen is tiny and the food is amazingly fresh so unfortunately it is sometimes natural to wait a little longer for a meal, especially when the restaurant is completely booked out, usually the food comes out at phenomenal speed but don't despair if like i said you might wait 5 or 10 minutes longer, one can always start of with some amazing dips which are also home made!! Pita bread and Tarama, an amazing potato and caviar dip is the way to go.. p.s tarama tastes amazing with a bowl of chips too if you don't feel like bread! Trust me! If you've eaten at Little Greek before you might have noticed the shirts "i am what i eat, i'm a little greek" well i am not greek, but after working there for a year and a bit i might as well be. Like i said, the food, the owners and the staff make this place a unique experience. Don't forget it's small restaurant but behind it all lies a family with a huge heart and immense passion for great food and fantastic service. I would recommend making a booking Tue - Sun!!!

Excellent food and service. The food and service as this restaurant were outstanding. You must have a reservation as the restaurant is small in size and it was a little bit hot, the air conditioning couldn't keep up. The waiter was really helpful at describing menu items and I was told by one of the Greek people at our table that the baklava was as good as his family's homemade version. Also very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

Amazing value from this bustling restaurant. Friendly staff and speedy service complement the simple, delicious food. Try the lamb souvla, it is melt in the mouth tender. Great food but needs to work on service. Little Greek Taverna is a great little restaurant that is certainly better then other Greek restaurants (which will not be named) in west end. I had the moussaka served with lemon potatoes with a side of dolmades wrapped in cabbage leaves instead of vine leaves. If I went back I would find it hard to choose something different as the meal was a great choice. The only downside to the Little Greek Taverna is the service. The wait staff seemed to be running around totally clueless as to what they were supposed to be doing. Throughout the evening we were continuously approached by staff holding meals, asking us if it was ours. At one point we were given the cheque before even ordered our meals. All in all, a great dining experience. 8/10

Will try again..... Have been wanting to try this very busy restaurant for a while. We neglected to book but were lucky enough to be squeezed in before another sitting early on Thursday night - they were about 50% capacity at the time. The staff were quick, attentive and friendly. The Haloumi starter was delicious but the rest of the food was dissapointing. My lamb souvlaki was tough (I expected it to be served on skewers), the accompanying salad was swimming in it's own juices and not particularly tasty. My partners scallops were overcooked and not very appertising to him. Great Location and fun atomsphere - maybe we'll try it again with a booking next time (and different choices - there are heaps!)

Incredible!. First night in Brisbane and we went to the little greek taverna because it was just around the corner. Despite crazy crowds, we were seated immediately. The food came super fast, and from the first bite, it was just amazing. the pita breads were unlike any i've had before, the dips are delicious, even the side salad on my main was perfect, with the simplest of things being transformed, like the tomatoes, which were awesome. Service-wise this place is unbeatable, speedy and friendly, and i hope they make tonnes of money. Despite the rain, the business, i could see the staff make every customer feel cared for. Fabulous - has restored my partners faith in West End greek!. Due to a few too many bad greek dining experiences in West End, my partner banned West End greek for a number of years. I was starved of greek food and decided to put my foot down last night - we are both so glad I did. The menu is extensive and varied - not sure what to order bc I want it all! Always packed, we were lucky to get a seat at 8.50pm on a Sunday night! Service was friendly, if a little frenzied (small kitchen, many many people - but they did their absolute best). One of the owners was there and we chatted to her at the end of our meal. She was a lovely, genuine person whose family has a passion for 'feeding people'! We shared the Bouglourdi | (Feta cheese, capsicum & tomato baked on charcoal $8.00), which was smashing with our mains (or you could order it with Pita bread) some tzaziki ($4.00 - perfect blend of flavours). I had the lamb souvlaki plate with salad ($13.50) and my partner had the 8x beef Keftedes + Salad | $13.50. Both were delicious, tender and juicy meats with that amazing greek charred flavour. The salads were fresh and all the sides were jam-packed with mouthwatering flavours. Massive tick! I don't know where they are getting their produce at the moment (due to QLD floods and poor quality produce everywhere else) but it was beautiful stuff. Sizes were generous - the entree and two mains left my partner and I stuffed - we had to force the last bits down but couldnt stop bc they tasted gorgeous! Has restored my partners faith in Greek food generally and I'm very happy to report that he has pronounced it our 'new greek place'! Well done LGT! We always want to go there . Cuz I heard that lamb cuisine is very good. We ordered Lamb Yiros w Salad , Chargrilled Calamari, Flat white and Frappe. I don't like lamb before. But I love lamb now !! Crapola. Wow... so disappointed! We visited this restaurant being a Tuesday night with high expectations, due to its nice street presentation. Upon us two being seated at 730pm, we sat for twenty minutes without service before concluding you must order at the counter, and in so doing this, were told this was deliberate as there was a hold on orders, to wait another ten minutes before the waitresses would take our orders. Another twenty minutes or so goes by before we can order our salads. The waiter comes over after another half an hour to although apologise, recommend us to get a starter (not from the kitchen) and to inform us it was 15 minutes away. Half an hour later, pretty hungry at this point, we left before getting our mains. Almost an hour and a half and no main?! Front of house did not really seem to care, apologise, etc which was quite annoying. We may have been happy to wait had there been proper communication between the kitchen to its waiters to the customers. Having worked in hospitality, it is always best to overestimate times to customers not underestimate in order to prevent customer dissatisfaction, and the Front of House should advise if there is a waiting time to customers in order to prevent reviews like this!!! Shame.

My favourite greeks in Brisbane..... I am greek so its very hard to find a place that meets the standard of what you are used to getting at home... Little greek taverna is the only greek restaurant that meets these standards and I eat there at least twice a week. I have raved about it to all my friends and family who are quick to let me know how good their little greek experience was... I know that you will not leave disappointed, not only is the food fantastic, the service is great... If you are going with 4 ppl + i recommend the little greek glendi as you get a taste of everything... I also recommend the kolokithakia and calamari... My favourites..

Superb food, Service a little dissapointing... I took my 13 year old cusin to dinner here on Saturday night, I've not ever had greek food before and decided to be a little daring and try it. We arrived at the restaurant just after 6pm there was quite a number of vacant tables and I guess the restuarnat at that point would have been haf full. Wandered up to the coutner was begrugendly greeted by a young waitress and asked for a table for two to be told there was no room after seeing the shockd look on my face she decided she might check with the manager I then waitied 10 mins for the manager whom again said there was no room at the moment and then changed her mind and said she could sit us @ the 'high bars' (bar counter like tables) I said tat would be fine. Once seated we startred looking at the menu, I would hav liked to have been able to ask the waitress more about the various dishes but felt this wouldn't be appreciaited so we just stuck with a pretty standard chicken and lamb dish that I knew I'd eat. On a brighter note, I was extremely impressed by the meal even my 13yr old cousin who is a very fussy teenager enjoed his meal. The greek side salad I had with my lamb dish was just beautiful I wil certaily go there again and I hope that my bad experience with the service was only a once off as it did put a little bit of a sour note on a wonderful new food experience.

Hard to Beat Greek. Let me add my voice to those who praise the virtues of this tiny place. I just helped polish off one of their char-grilled seafood platters and a plate of delicious dips and pita bread. All excellent! Waitstaff great. Greek coffee and sweets finished off a great meal. For around $26 a head this is hard to beat Greek.

Wonderful Greek food. They have rotating daily specials that are to die for. I have been twice now and both times it has been a pleasure. The lamb cooked over charcoal has been the stand out but everything has been great. Service is friendly and the food arrives very quickly. Not overpriced. My Greek God!!!. This Is An Excellent Greek Restaurant. My friends had told me all about this one knowing how much I love experiencing differently cultered food and, ive never looked back. According to them, the Kitchen Head has the best reputation in Brisbane, apparently Greek food lovers from as far as the Gold Coast and even Sunshine Coast, infact apparently greeks from Sydney, unbelieveably had commented on how the quality of Greek cuisine on offer here is the best you will find, so I thought its about time I put it to the test. Now dont even get me started on the prices of the food when I first looked at the menu. Compared to other venues in Brisbane, this is the cheapest where it could easily be more expensive without compremising the quality, but hats off to the people running this joint for not only killing the opposition in price, but having maintaining the best quality. If its available, you should try the Lamb Shank Souvla, ive heard that the kitchen gets up on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning from about 3am to get this prepared for the day and more than offen its all gone by the time dinner service starts just due to sheer demand from such a small kitchen!! So with that in mind, Lunchtimes are perfect on a Saturday and Sunday. Lets just say, since I went the first time, ive been regular every Sunday at lunchtime for this Signature Dish of theirs... Other meals experienced on other nights I have gone include the Beef Patties and thos Beef Meatballs and, having visited Greece once before, its like I was tasting EXACTLY what I had tasted over there when I went to a steakhouse over there. Ive also gone the Garlic Prawns and Garlic Scollops on another occasion and I found that delightful too! Much has been said in comments about the standard FREE bread you get when you sit down and eat there, guys, seriously whether you get it or not and your not satisfied with it, its FREE, try going some Pita Bread instead, I dont know where these guys get the Bread from, but there is simply nothing else like it in Brisbane and your guaranteed to get it for just $3 extra. If you do have an issue with eating bread before hand, then the Pita and Tarama or Mamas Salsa Dip or Tirokafteri is the way to go. So to conclude, Its a small and intimate restaurant, the service is great, the staff really make you feel welcome and you certainly end up feeling like your in amungst all the action as food is ordered and then whizzed out to those at their respective tables. its oh so greek! and far from not being so!!! All we need now is some greek dancing. This place will become an institution in Brisbane for sure! Thats the only thing its missing, a greek dance or two from the staff...hats off to the team at the Little Greek Taverna.

One experience does not define a restaurant...... I have eaten at the Little Greek Taverna several times now and has become one of my favourite places to eat. I have tried almost everything on the menu and would have to say I absolutely love the chargrilled octopus & calamari............... I have taken my parents to the Little Greek, and for my Dad, who is typically a three meat and veg man, he was pleasantly surprised, and finished everything on his plate. I would also like to comment on what Anna has stated in her review. Basically, whenever I eat at the Little Greek I have no complaints.........I have never NOT received my bread, but perhaps it would be an idea to ask next time, as I have noticed they are SO flat out. Anyway, my advice......beautiful food, great atmosphere, excellent prices.....I would recommend it to anyone.

Far below the usual standard you'd expect from Greek food. While I normally love Greek food, this place just didn't make the cut. Firstly, I ordered 2 dishes and both times were told (10 minutes later) that they were not available. I finally ordered the calimari and salad and while the salad was ok (nothing I would rush back for though), the calimari was bland, and while it was "chargrilled", the charcoal taste was simply overpowering and not at all nice. My partner ordered keftedes (Greek meatballs - apologies if the spelling is not spot on) which were ok - certainly an improvement on mine - but again, nothing that I would rush back for. They tasted like something I could make at home, and lacked the real flavoursome "zing" that I'd expect from a restaurant. We also never received the bread that was promised us before receiving our main meals. Finally, our meals were served 10 minutes apart which is simply bad service, but I feel I must blame the kitchen on that more than the waitresses. My partner had finished half of his meal by the time mine came out, which is far from ideal. Don't rush to this one, especially if you're a fan of Green food - you won't be missing much.

Good cheap Greek. We go here often, it's BYO so you can take a bottle of wine and enjoy a casual dinner. The staff are friendly and helpful and the portion sizes are good. We normally get the $65.00 platter. It could be presented a little better - there is a lovely salad, dips and bread, gorgeous halloumi and a plate of unidentifiable meat that i think would be better left on the skewers. Between the three of us we can never finish it and we have no complaints about the taste, quality, price or service. My tips: pay the $3.00 extra and get the delicious fluffy pita bread instead of the free dry regular bread. And skip the baklava - it's not the best ;)

The waitresses are some of the friendliest this side of the city and are more than willing to explain things and accept the smaller requests. Feed Me Now Brisbane

Little Greek Taverna is decked out in a modern white and green fitting; the colours are symbolic of the north of Greece (think mountains and agriculture) and rivals the traditional blue and white southerners down the road. With more outside than inside seating, this busy little restaurant wraps around the corner and is great for people-watching. Even with the heaters it can get quite chilly, especially at night, so be sure to wear your winter woollies and rug up.

Little Greek was selected as the first scheduled dinner of the year due to couple of factors, my friend was playing down the road at music kafe and I'd heard good things.
