A must do for anyone who loves good food, great wine selections and the perfect ambience for intimate dinners for two or groups alike. The spinach side is to die for and the steak presented perfectly. My new fave 5 star culinary experience. The dirty martini wasn't too bad either.
My new favorite place for drinks & dinner. A new high end steakhouse the decor & fit out of the restaurant is beautiful. The Bar area is set out perfect for us to have time to sit and enjoy our pre-dinner drinks.
The highlight of tonight for me is the fresh oyster shucked to order, I had Rockefeller with Pernod, butter spinach & bread crumbs top with lemon juice OMG! The oyster is so fresh and Pernod butter spinach just lifted to another level LOVE it!
300g 30 days New York strip...chef Adam dry age and cut in house....Beef is full of flavors with a nutty smell and on the top of that it super tender seriously I almost lick my plate. We also had spinach cream & baby potato as a sides it was great compliment to my steak. Don’t forget to safe some room for the best “Key lime pie” smooth, creamy with a perfect tang and not too sweet it’s seriously GOOD!!!
Highly recommended
From the ambience, to the decor, to the wait staff, to the mouth watering food, cannot fault the experience. Star of the show and highly recommend the dry aged steak share plate with the creamed spinach. Will be back soon!
Without a doubt this is the best steakhouse I have ever dined at. The presentation of this restaurant is incredibly impressive. The food was exceptional and the menu options were quite extensive and creative. Every item we ordered was absolutely delicious and exceeded all expectations. The staff were lovely and very tentative. We had such a wonderful night and I would have to say it is now my favourite restaurant. I would highly recommend it to everyone and I can’t wait to go back.
Impressed on all fronts. Easily the best steak I've ever had (highly recommend the steak for 2), great drinks & wine selection, and excellent service from Arthur, our waiter. Also, if time allows, definitely arrive early for drinks in the front bar.
Honestly the best steak I’ve had in Australia! Such incredibly cooked high quality meat. The salad was great also. It cost a pretty penny but was worth every cent! We’ll be back!
We had the most amazing meal. Best steak I have ever eaten. The food was delicious, fresh and served hot. The service by the staff was warm and welcoming. Our martini’s were delicious. Highly recommended.
We had the dumpling for entree, the Walter's special dry aged t bone for 2,cauli cheese,German pots.
I am a chef of 30 years, and it was like going back to the good old days.
Perfect drinks
Outstanding service
And the food was amazing, every dish was perfect,
We left there very happy on our wedding anniversary.
And will be bringing friends there next time
Well done chefs ...

We came for Czahn but ended up staying for Natalie. Customer service in its finest form, this paired ever so nicely with the appetising Beef Tartare. Followed shortly by a second helping of sass accompanied by the amazing Dry Aged Porterhouse sizzling at a decibel lvl of “mmhmmm”. This meal will never be forgotten and neither will Natalie. You the real MVP!
It is not often that a restaurant will inspire us to drive 2.5hrs (round trip) to eat at!!
But after hearing that Brisbane was about be the home for a brand new steakhouse, we just couldn't resist booking a table for the opening night at Walter's Steakhouse.
From the GM (Jason), to our fantastic waiter (Zhan), through to the amazing selection of drinks... 20yo Pappy Van Winkle's anyone (!!!?), we were treated to an amazing experience.
Oh, did I mention the steaks? WOW!
Adam Herbert (head chef), has set a new benchmark, one that has set Walters Steakhouse apart from the rest and will certainly be a hard act to follow!
Go experience their '270 day grain fed, in house, dry aged porterhouse' for yourself... you will be amazed!!
The food at Walters is amazing! It is certainly a culinary destination that was missing from the Brisbane scene. I would highly recommend tyring their dry aged steaks.
Finally got to experience Walters after stalking it on social media since opening. The best steak and service complimented by an outstanding wine list and bar selection.
The specialty porterhouse was shared by all - prefaced by pierogi dumplings, steak tartare, veal tongue & oysters Rockefeller . Highly recommended dining experience. Don’t wait- go now !!
This place is amazing!!! The steak for two was divine. We had two sides, creamed spinach and shoe string fries both great and a perfect accompaniment to the incredible steak. The cocktail "mineral house" was a great starter and we loved the cozy masculine vibe of both the bar and restaurant. Great staff Thank you for a great evening!!!
Cannot fault Walter's in any way! I lived in the USA for 10 years and enjoyed their steakhouses ...Walter's is a NYC style Steakhouse does it well! Comfortable "clubby" bar with attentive engaging people, great steak cooked to perfection, a wine list built on meat and good service! We all enjoyed the evening and will go again!
I don't often give out 5 stars, but I would give Walter's 6 if I could. This is honestly the most succulent steak I have tasted. Ever. And that butter they supply at the start, is so good I would eat it on its own. The service is just that... 5 star Service. With a capital S. I could forgive lesser service for really good food, or mistakes/so so food for exemplary service. With Walter's you don't have to compromise on either. Will I go back? For sure. Thank you for a enjoyable night. I have to give shout outs to both Arthur and David for their service, and of course Dawid, who took us to his place of work that he is so proud of.
Just class!! From the fit out to the staff and not to mention the Amazing food. This place is a must for any steak lover.
Rating 4.0 This has got to be one of the best (if not the best) steakhouse in Brisbane. We came for a weekday lunch and it was pretty quiet. Old school New York ambience & service. The entree of pierogi, fried cheese & potato dumplings was a little dense, one for the cheese lovers. The main event, the Speciality Porterhouse, to be share between 2, was just indulgent. Come sizzling to the table and served in front of you, it was tender, juicy & delicious. The key lime pie dessert was ok, but you’re really there for the steak. Will definitely return.
Set in iconic historical digs with noteworthy authentic NYC 🍎 classic steakhouse ambience. Serving melt-in-your-mouth prime-cuts, a top-notch wine list by old-school waitstaff at tableside. Ice-cold martini’s, dry-aged beef and oysters await!
Visited Walter’s Steakhouse last night and was not disappointed, the service was top notch and I loved the ambience of the beautiful old building that houses this restaurant
I had the eye fillet med / rare and it was melt in your mouth delish and they didn’t provide steak knives as you could cut it with a bread and butter knife
My dish was out done by the others at my table who had the porterhouse for two- OMG off the charts good , I must say this was one of the best steaks I have had in Brisvegas for quite some time
Do yourself a favour 5*
Steak steak steak. Best place we've had around and the service was fantastic. The salad we ordered was a little surprising but okay, the ceasar salad was just while lettuce leaves with length bread sticks covered in parmesan and dressing on a plate. I would visit again for drinks, steak and the starters.
Went to Walter’s with Mrs Scarborough. Steak was outstanding, sides solid, entrée well executed. Issue was price. Wine very expensive, meal overall was top tier in price. And to my point - for the price, did we have an exceptionally memorable meal? Service a bit short of fine dining, from my perspective. I’d happily eat Walter’s steak everyday of the week, but unfortunately, the price was a bit rich for me.
We went there for a friend's 21st birthday.
Wait staff helped you pick dishes that were popular so you didn't feel at risk dining there.
Steaks may look small but they're deceivingly filling! Beautiful food there.
My partner and I went here for dinner a few months ago and I had be meaning to write up a review but forgot!
Love the dark, old fashioned, slightly eclectic decor and surrounds. A lot of Brisbane steakhouses have contemporary interiors so I really enjoyed the change of scenery.
Service was exceptional... genuine, friendly, professional and attentive.
We ordered the House Specialty Steak for two with German roast potatoes, creamed spinach and vegetable panache as sides. It was nice watching our waiter cut up the steak for us and sear it further on the side of the plate before serving us! Steak was to die for, as were sides. We could have both gotten away with ordering two rather than three sides as they were quite rich and buttery (no complaints here though).
Highly recommend for service, amazing steak dinner and environment!
Just let them do their thing with the steak we had the house specialty steak for three with some sides. A very very delicious steak exquisitely cooked. Couldn’t fault it. Brace for the bill but have been remembering the experience long afterwards. Ask for fresh horseradish.
Delicious steak, fantastic sides, exceptional service. Decadent surrounds and an extensive drink menu too. It is pricey but worth a visit for a special occasion.

I came here with my team on a weeknight for a small team dinner. We were really pleasantly surprised as we each had delicious steaks and service. I love Tom Foolery wine so I was so happy to have a glass with my steak. Service and ambience were also great. Only feedback would be you have to order sides with the steak as it’s just a piece of steak and the casear salad was underwhelming.
Amazing service from the time we stepped in. Food was incredible. We took the chefs recommendation on steak and how it should be cooked. Table of 5 and every single steak was cooked to perfection. The New York Strip was the best I have had.. Great dining experience and highly recommended!
It initially feels strange to have so many top quality steakhouses in such close proximity (Cha char and Moo Moo both a stones throw away) but after having lunch today at Walters, I don’t care. This is about as good as it gets when it comes to quality steak with top notch service. The menu is what you would probably expect from a steakhouse with premium cuts galore but also some seafood/pork/lamb options.
I had the eye fillet as I typically always do which was cooked to perfection and my partner had the baked eggplant (don’t judge).
Another great addition to the Brisbane dining scene.
Absolutely divine meal. The texture of the parfait was incredible (recommended by the wonderfully attentive staff member) and my partner thoroughly enjoyed her beef tartare. Perfectly balanced and seasoned. Then the main event. The 300gram 30 day dry aged new york strip. Rarely does a steakhouse's reputation live up to it's hype, but Walters certainly has. Cooked to perfection (medium rare for my liking), bathed in a glorious au jus and absolutely melt in your mouth tender. My partners strip loin was every bit as delicious with a milder flavor - perfect for her palette. Can not recommend Walters highly enough and will definitely be back on a regular basis!
As far as service goes - it doesn’t get better than that of the incredible staff at Walter’s Steakhouse. From the moment you walk in, you feel incredibly welcomed. The food is incredible to say the very least, and their signature porterhouse is a must-have. Absolutely amazing.
Fridays, amongst all other things, is a good time to reflect upon the hard labours of the week and reward yourself for the undue suffering that week. Normally, this would involve a casual sit down lunch over a burger or sushi, but when lunch is with the ever bourgeois Iron Fist, it always ends up with us at a fancy restaurant, sharing in his perchance for luxury and extravagance. Which is why we found ourselves at the newly opened Walter's Steakhouse last Friday (thankfully before all the rain started). Being situated in the old lodgings of what used to be Restaurant II, it is opposite the nice leafy greenery of the botanical gardens.
