Organised a company dinner for 22 then at last minute increased to 28.
From the first call the staff were fantastic, polite, courteous and accommodating to every request. We opted for the banquet dinner which was a fantastic price, delicious taste, amazing variety of dishes. The service staff were available at every instance to assist for everyone
The ambiance and atmosphere was so cosy and delightful. All staff commented on how great an evening it was.
This was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend anyone, especially groups to visit this restaurant. Can't wait to go back again!
Great restaurant with a real Italian atmosphere. I have been there twice: For lunch in couple, we had some excellent gricia and carbonara pasta, followed by an amazing nougat and cherry "semi-freddo".
Then with a bigger group of people, for dinner. The appetizers were amazing and could be a meal by themselves, but the best part was the pizza... I absolutely recommend the "Gianni's favourite", you won't regret it.
Amazing place to eat with really friendly staff and great atmosphere! Highly recommend.
Love coming here everyday work day. Top coffee, top food and top people. Grazie e continua a lavorare bene!
We enjoyed our dinner very much.service was excellent, quality ingredients and outstandind food ,very generous, gentle and yumm desert.
Will be back sure, enjoyed every bite evrry single minute
Food is fantatic and the staff are very friendly and provide great service! Would recommend to anyone looking for amazing Italian food
After travelling around Italy for 3 weeks we still think the food here beats anywhere else. The pizzas and pasta dishes are to die for, the only problem is leaving enough room for the incredible desserts!
Great atmosphere, excellent and authentic italian food. The chef and staff are amazing!
Manager and staff exceptional. Food on is 5/5. Their Canoli is the best dessert I've had in years
I love this place. We often stop in for breakfast and see “Bella” as she’s just so wonderful with Miss 3 and Master B. She makes the best coffee!!
Wandered in late on a Monday after lunch. We received amazing service from the new Torino waitress. The pizza was quick, authenticate and oh so tasty. Completely recommend.
Sensational! Just as all the previous reviews have stated - very authentic in every way. Serves are larger than I imagined, so our only issue was trying to get through the beautiful dishes we ordered. An all italian wine list was a bonus!
What a great night we had! We have found Gianni's very accommodating. The staff were so attentive and I could listen to their beautiful accents all night. The food was very tasty also. Thank you for a fantastic night!
Authentic Italian menu.
Best pasta dishes and great Italian wine list.
Excellent service....love listening to the staff speak to customers in English....then when really busy start talking to each other in Italian.
A real Italian experience.
Excellent service. The waiter recommended a lovely wine to go with our food. The food was delicious and the Creme Brulee was the best I've had!
Visited this hidden gem with the Fork’s promo last night.
Service is very attentive and friendly. We ordered an Antipasto Classico to share between two of us. Portion and variety of cute meats are both surprisingly good. Next surprise comes from the more than a kg of black mussels in tomato based broth. However, surprise did not come to the end. The pasta of Lasagna is very silky and taste of the sauce is immaculate good and authentic. It is a place worth for return.
A very highly recommended restaurant👍😋
Friday night dinner with my parents. They were keen on Italian and after mum did some digging online she decided to grab some food at Gianni's Kitchen at Newstead. I had actually been super keen to try the steak at their sister store Florentine, but since she was fairly determined, we went there for dinner.
For authentic Italian and delicious pizza in this area it’s hard to go past Giannis what it lacks in views and ambiance it makes up for in taste - you won’t be disappointed
Went here for a midweek date night, as well as to utilise Dimmi's (now, The Fork) 30% off discount.
We ordered glasses of wine then selected:
(i) Tortellini Terolesi - delicious parcels of beef ragu in thin pasta, with delightly salty bites of pancetta.
(ii) Petto Di Pollo Con Provola, Purea Di Patate E Salsa Al Funghi - well cooked chicken, smooth puree with a rich sauce.
(iii) Saltimbocca Di Vitello Alla Romana Con Spinaci - tender cooked veal, with sauteed spinach.
Our meals came out with an accompanying small dish of parmesan. Very friendly and efficient service. Smart, cosy ambience. Reasonable prices (although, we did have a discount too).
Overall, a wonderful Italian dinner experience.
I love dining here and the staff compliment the food very well. Laura is a true superstar, I watch her work like a true professional and she always has a smile on her face. I always get the ‘Gianni’s Favourite’ pizza which never disappoints and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good quality Italian cuisine with staff that go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy yourself! Perfect spot for a Christmas party or celebration.
Great atmosphere with lots of Italian film 50's and 60's prints with music matching, bright attentive Italian staff (& chef) and a clean open space. The menu looked great, the pizza was really good Italian pizza but I'd call the execution of the main dishes & pasta we tried more Aust Italian, particularly the veal dish, home made lasagna very nice but there wasn't anything to make it extraordinary. Really looking for a great regular casual Italian in Brisbane but so far unless it's a higher spend, like Il Locale, it's been elusive. Saying that the food is sooooo much better than Beccofino, which I find totally inedible with possibly the worse staff in the city, and I tried 3 times, so this is a much much better all over experience in every respect.
An unusually cool evening meant we chose indoor seating for our dinner last night. We were shown our table and offered still, sparkling or tap water. While we read the menu we drank proseco. We began with calamari served with aoli and lime wedges. It was amazing - loved it as it wasn't all batter or oily at all. My companion chose short pasta with beef ragu. I was undecided so asked the waiter which option to choose between the seafood pizza or the fettuccine with tomato base and seafood. He suggested I order the seafood pasta but they do it with a white wine sauce instead of the tomato based sauce- it was sensational. We also asked for the streamed greens- which was only slightly green. There were carrots, beans and cauliflower on the plate! Service was friendly and helpful. The desserts looked tempting but I had made cake that day and it was waiting at home. A very well presented restaurant and menu with reasonable prices and a relaxed atmosphere
Nice setting, outdoor or in. Was pretty busy. Quick service and food. Great tasting and reasonable price. Lived up to all expectations. I'll be back.
Arranged a Sunday lunch with friends who were all keen on an Italian feast.
Gianni's Kitchen did not disappoint.
The decor crafted and imported from Italy 🇮🇹 give the place a truly Italian vibe.
Not clever and sleek but rustic and authentic. You honestly could be in Italy.
The restaurant Manager, Chefs and Wait Staff are all Italian. The music, the vibe it's all so very Italian- and that's the secret - its what sets this restaurant apart.
Now to the food, again we find simple authentic options, lovingly prepared in the true Italian style with fresh local ingredients and some imported directly from Italy by Gianni himself.
Look at my photos to see what we ate- it tasted as good as it looked.
We love Gianni's Kitchen and look forward to our next visit. Buon appetito!
Great authentic Italian food! The meatball entree was delicious with a very rich and flavoursome tomato sauce. I had the duck pappardelle for main which was packed with flavour and had a healthy amount of duck throughout. Will definitely be back.
My partner & I ate here tonight & the food was amazing! Lovely atmosphere & great service! The seafood pizza was very tasty & the pasta cooked to perfection
Really cool ambience here... reminds me of Mama's kitchen! There aren't many places in Brisbane in which you can feel the authenticity of an Italian kitchen - not just in the decor, but in the sauce, the pasta, the pizza dough and toppings. It's earthy, real and for an Italian diehard: the place to be!
Great customer service, the food was well priced at a special all you can eat pizza $20 + drink. The pizza was served within 30 seconds of when we all settled into our chairs... Well done! All the staff are and speak Italian which makes the experience much more genuine. The atmosphere was great with Italian music and the smell of Italian food. Ignore the haters, haters gonna hate.
Roast Lamb. Absolutely divine!!! Loved it!!!

We dined mid week with a group of friends at the recently opened Gianni's kitchen.
Staying true to authentic Italian principles of good quality, well cooked food, friendly service and simple decor- Gianni has done very well here.
The staff in the kitchen and front of house are all Italian.
There's a well stocked deli, a pizza oven, a fully licensed bar and of course a menu offering a wide range of Italy's best.
Happily he has plenty of gluten free & vegetarian options too.
There's not much happening in Newstead, it's quiet and a bit dark out on the street, but Gianni's is bright and well lit- it holds it own!
Our meals were delicious, well cooked, perfectly seasoned and generously portioned.
We can't wait to go back!
Great new Italian with friendly service and traditional Italian food. This is a great new Italian place with a cute coffee shop opposite.
Food is authentic Italian and the service is friendly and inviting. The cafe attached also sells Italian imported products and wines as well as traditional cakes and pastries. The set up of the restaurant makes it a great venue for work or private functions.
Giannis is also based in Hamilton so if you love their base there you will love their new offering in Kyabra Street.
The highlight for me was their delicious pizzas with buffalo mozarella ! Great Food and Great Value !
Perfect place to try real Italian food!!. I've know this place from my friend as she highly recommended several times. So finally I've visited with some of my friends. Focacce was just so beautiful and T-bone on salt plate was fantastic. Also gnocchi was perfectly cooked. I was surprised by their wine list, they have all those Italian fine wines of good price. I had to buy one bottle of wine on the way back home as I knew they also had bottle shop in deli part. It's amazing how everything in here is so Italian and authentic. No need to say the service was the best. They welcome you with love, I really enjoyed the homely atmosphere. Thank you Gianni and his team. I certainly will be a regular!!
Nothing great in the world has been accomplished without passion: George Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. We found Gianni's Kitchen one Sunday afternoon while walking through the currently evolving Fortitude Valley. Initially indifferent after reading the few reviews, we eventually succumbed to our curiosity after repeatedly walking past and observing a vibrant buzz within.
It has been said that one of the key attributes to success is passion, and it was heartening to note that the staff and management lived and breathed their product. If there had been negatives in the past, they were non existent, and my partner and I only assumed they had learnt from constructive criticism like all good businesses.
Now the food, and we can only comment on the meals we have tried. It is easy from me to say that I 'loved' the pasta and the authentic wood fired pizza, but when my partner, who lived for a period in Italy affirmed my suggestion that this was authentic Italian cuisine I knew that this restaurant would become part of our weekly routine.
Recommendation: Spaghetti Alla Chitarra Con Pachino E Gamberi & Diavola pizza.
Winner. Recommended by an acquaintance so had dinner for two there last night. Great experience; very welcoming, authentic Italian food, and friendly efficient service (maybe a little too efficient, felt a little rushed) But other than that, all the ingredients for a winning recipe. Will certainly be back.
Who knew authentic Italian was only a short drive down Commercial Road? Took my partner down to dinner on Friday night and it was busy! But we were seated 10 minutes after ordering a drink at the bar. Service was fantastic and friendly and the food was incredible. We shared the olives which I wish I hadn't because they are addictive! Then we had the Linguine with Seafood. I've been to Italian restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne, and this is by far the best Seafood Linguine I have ever had! A big Thumbs up for Giannis Kitchen!
