Organised a company dinner for 22 then at last minute increased to 28.
From the first call the staff were fantastic, polite, courteous and accommodating to every request. We opted for the banquet dinner which was a fantastic price, delicious taste, amazing variety of dishes. The service staff were available at every instance to assist for everyone
The ambiance and atmosphere was so cosy and delightful. All staff commented on how great an evening it was.
This was an amazing experience and I would highly recommend anyone, especially groups to visit this restaurant. Can't wait to go back again!
Great restaurant with a real Italian atmosphere. I have been there twice: For lunch in couple, we had some excellent gricia and carbonara pasta, followed by an amazing nougat and cherry "semi-freddo".
Then with a bigger group of people, for dinner. The appetizers were amazing and could be a meal by themselves, but the best part was the pizza... I absolutely recommend the "Gianni's favourite", you won't regret it.
Visited this hidden gem with the Fork’s promo last night.
Service is very attentive and friendly. We ordered an Antipasto Classico to share between two of us. Portion and variety of cute meats are both surprisingly good. Next surprise comes from the more than a kg of black mussels in tomato based broth. However, surprise did not come to the end. The pasta of Lasagna is very silky and taste of the sauce is immaculate good and authentic. It is a place worth for return.
A very highly recommended restaurant👍😋
Friday night dinner with my parents. They were keen on Italian and after mum did some digging online she decided to grab some food at Gianni's Kitchen at Newstead. I had actually been super keen to try the steak at their sister store Florentine, but since she was fairly determined, we went there for dinner.
For authentic Italian and delicious pizza in this area it’s hard to go past Giannis what it lacks in views and ambiance it makes up for in taste - you won’t be disappointed
Went here for a midweek date night, as well as to utilise Dimmi's (now, The Fork) 30% off discount.
We ordered glasses of wine then selected:
(i) Tortellini Terolesi - delicious parcels of beef ragu in thin pasta, with delightly salty bites of pancetta.
(ii) Petto Di Pollo Con Provola, Purea Di Patate E Salsa Al Funghi - well cooked chicken, smooth puree with a rich sauce.
(iii) Saltimbocca Di Vitello Alla Romana Con Spinaci - tender cooked veal, with sauteed spinach.
Our meals came out with an accompanying small dish of parmesan. Very friendly and efficient service. Smart, cosy ambience. Reasonable prices (although, we did have a discount too).
Overall, a wonderful Italian dinner experience.
I love dining here and the staff compliment the food very well. Laura is a true superstar, I watch her work like a true professional and she always has a smile on her face. I always get the ‘Gianni’s Favourite’ pizza which never disappoints and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good quality Italian cuisine with staff that go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy yourself! Perfect spot for a Christmas party or celebration.
Great atmosphere with lots of Italian film 50's and 60's prints with music matching, bright attentive Italian staff (& chef) and a clean open space. The menu looked great, the pizza was really good Italian pizza but I'd call the execution of the main dishes & pasta we tried more Aust Italian, particularly the veal dish, home made lasagna very nice but there wasn't anything to make it extraordinary. Really looking for a great regular casual Italian in Brisbane but so far unless it's a higher spend, like Il Locale, it's been elusive. Saying that the food is sooooo much better than Beccofino, which I find totally inedible with possibly the worse staff in the city, and I tried 3 times, so this is a much much better all over experience in every respect.
An unusually cool evening meant we chose indoor seating for our dinner last night. We were shown our table and offered still, sparkling or tap water. While we read the menu we drank proseco. We began with calamari served with aoli and lime wedges. It was amazing - loved it as it wasn't all batter or oily at all. My companion chose short pasta with beef ragu. I was undecided so asked the waiter which option to choose between the seafood pizza or the fettuccine with tomato base and seafood. He suggested I order the seafood pasta but they do it with a white wine sauce instead of the tomato based sauce- it was sensational. We also asked for the streamed greens- which was only slightly green. There were carrots, beans and cauliflower on the plate! Service was friendly and helpful. The desserts looked tempting but I had made cake that day and it was waiting at home. A very well presented restaurant and menu with reasonable prices and a relaxed atmosphere
Nice setting, outdoor or in. Was pretty busy. Quick service and food. Great tasting and reasonable price. Lived up to all expectations. I'll be back.
Arranged a Sunday lunch with friends who were all keen on an Italian feast.
Gianni's Kitchen did not disappoint.
The decor crafted and imported from Italy 🇮🇹 give the place a truly Italian vibe.
Not clever and sleek but rustic and authentic. You honestly could be in Italy.
The restaurant Manager, Chefs and Wait Staff are all Italian. The music, the vibe it's all so very Italian- and that's the secret - its what sets this restaurant apart.
Now to the food, again we find simple authentic options, lovingly prepared in the true Italian style with fresh local ingredients and some imported directly from Italy by Gianni himself.
Look at my photos to see what we ate- it tasted as good as it looked.
We love Gianni's Kitchen and look forward to our next visit. Buon appetito!
Great authentic Italian food! The meatball entree was delicious with a very rich and flavoursome tomato sauce. I had the duck pappardelle for main which was packed with flavour and had a healthy amount of duck throughout. Will definitely be back.
