Review Miss Kay's - Brisbane

Ordered the double Cheeseburger & Onion rings. Burger patty & cheese were perfect, however bun was a tier below. Either the burger patty was too small or bun too big, leaving me to take a bite of only bun (slightly stale) and cheese without any meat. Would have been happier with a slightly smaller bun to better fit the patty size. Onion rings were the biggest I've seen in my life, pretty good too! Overall 4/5 pretty happy. Worth a shot!

Burgers were really good. We also ordered a strawberry milkshake to share and it was huge! Luckily it was not overly sweet or too heavy. Fries were crispy and are a must with the burgers.

Wonderful service from the very friendly staff. Very nice burgers with a good amount of options to choose from. Chips are seasoned with a mildly spicy salt which won't be for everyone but it's not over the top. A great variety of drinks to choose from to have with your meal and definitely the strongest Rum and Coke I've had that wasn't home made, so they are not watering down your drinks. Highly recommended to check it out if you haven't been.

Great location, venue and atmosphere. Friendly staff. MacDaddy was the bomb. One of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten, hit just the right spot. Highly recommend. My partner had the Krispy Chicken 👌🏻

Best burgers in Brisbane. We ordered two 'mk special' burgers and a side of wings. They were so good we decided to try their standard cheeseburger as well while we were there. The second order seemed to be taking longer than the first so we asked if there was a problem.. They realised our order hadn't gotten through to the kitchen so they got our burger to us right away and insisted they refund our money. Best customer service and very friendly staff.

MK Special was one of the best burgers I've had. Their milk shake with popcorn was a nice touch as well and serving of poutine fries were more than generous too.

Love this place. My friend just wanted a plain cheese burger but you're original cheese burger without any frills hit the spot. Tucked behind all the shopping centre in the CBD, you will find all the locals and regulars who come in for a sneaky drink and burger. Staff are great and knowledge about the menu. Being in the city, parking can be difficult, major public transport is only a walk away. Plenty of tables. Even with music blasting, you can still have a conversation

Last Friday I took my wife to Miss Kay's Springwood for dinner. The fries and the beers were very nice we enjoyed them, but the Burgers and the service were extremely BAD. The burger buns were very stale and the vegan patty was extremely sloppy. I could not believe why a busy place like yours would serve stale buns. I tried to complain to your staff but they were busy and stressed and walked away and did not acknowledge me.Also, they ignored another lady who was wanted replace her fork that was dropped on the floor. I went home and I complained using the Facebook messenger but did not get a reply from you. I am really disappointed. This why I am posting this review.

Wonderful burger - fries a bit too salty - good beer<br/>Quick service<br/>Didn’t like the loud live singer as surrounding customers had to raise their voices to shouting level to be heard and also difficult to hear bar staff above music/noise levels

I came here at 3pm on Friday and the place was basically empty. I ordered the pulled pork burger and Elvis shake. The burger wasn’t really my thing, but the shake was good! Delicious peanut butter taste and toppings. Hope to come back and try a beef or crispy chicken burger. And maybe another shake.

The best burger in Brisbane :) and the chips, so yummy............... Awesome fries and burgers at Miss Kays!Keen to try other burgers! xoxoxoxo

Awesome fries and burgers at Miss Kays! I had the Porky Pig burger and the dirty fries to share, not only was the food great the atmosphere was great too with the choice of upstairs seating was a definite bonus.

Miss Kay’s is one burger joint that I’ve been looking forward to try. I wanted to go to upper floor where the vibe seemed more chill with the books surrounding the seatings, but sadly it was closed off. Tried the ludakrisp burger and poutine fries. The burger was in decent size and tasted pretty good. The chicken was crispy on the outside yet pretty moist on the inside. The pickles and the sweet BBQ sauce gave nice complements to the burger. I really dig the classic milk buns in the burger as well. The poutine fries was shocking. The fries portion was way too big for 2 people. Nonetheless, the gravy sauce and haloumi cheese made the fries really addicting. Overall, Miss Kay’s has great food accompanied by good service and nice, chill atmosphere going on. Keen to try other burgers!

If you wish to walk back into the office feeling regret and dirty. Well I have a place for you, Miss Kay's do over the top burgers that doesnt really taste all that fantastic

The token veg burger was really good. The sweet potato and chickpea patty was bursting with flavour and I liked the crunchiness of the mozzarella sticks. However, most of my mozzarella sticks were devoid of content, and to this day, I'm not sure if it's because there was nothing in them in the first place, or because it all leaked out somehow. My friend's was fine though.

Amazing!!! Delicious Burgers with good range of options and crazy ideas. Great Vibe. Good to catch up with friends. Fair price. Good coffees (Fonzie Abbot) as well. <br/>Fine Service, can be better!
Mildred
Pretty good burger joint, probably one of the best in Brisbane & omg aren't we flooded with 'gourmet burgers' - all a bit gourmaverage - however this definately one of the best. However as my fellow diners pondered - where is the old fashioned Australian burger with beetroot & pineapple?

Nice quality burgers. Serves really quick. Good customer service and nice seating area. Very convenient location from city. Recommended for large gathering.

Nothing but love, fam. So many sexy feeds. The burgers are dominant without dominating you. This is rare. Many times I’ve flip-flopped between chicken, pork and beef, but inevitably I come back to my one and only. Poutine Burger, you have my heart. The gravy, chips and cheese are indulgent. Every bite takes me back to a wild night in Ottawa. It was in the Canadian capital where I ate a poutine pizza on the sidewalk. Ahhhh, the life. Take a long lunch and try the pou for yourself. You’ve earned it.

Went out for a walk and spotted Miss Kay’s. the atmosphere was very inviting so thought I would try dinner. The service was great and super fast! I ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The portions are huge and I thought it was delicious. Would definitely come back next time I am in Brisbane! 😁<br/>

Miss Kay's on George Street is always a popular location for meeting up with friends for some hearty American burgers and fries. Miss Kay's has some delicious burger and fries options that I would definitely recommend. The prices are quite average (around the $12-$15 mark).<br/><br/>I ordered the Ludakrisp burger which was so delicious! The burger was very large with three pieces of deep fried chicken with a crispy batter. The slaw was not overpowering at all and added a great crunch to the burger. The bbq sauce was delicious but could definitely have more of it on the bun as there was quite a lot of chicken and in my opinion, not enough sauce for all of it. This burger was so delicious but was also very hard to eat. Since it was so big, I had to deconstruct the burger and try to eat it like that which made it very messy. I ended up getting some cutlery to eat it with which made it slightly easier but at this point the burger looked quite messy (but still tasted great)!<br/><br/>We also ordered the poutine fries to share. The fries themselves were overcooked as they were overfried and actually quite hard. They were way too crispy and you couldn't taste any of the fluffy potato-ey insides of the fry. They were shoestring fries which makes them different to thick-cut fries but definitely would have been a lot nicer if they were not over-fried. However, there was a great amount of gravy and shaved halloumi on top which makes a great side to order to share with friends. I would reorder this again but would hope the fries wouldn't be overcooked.<br/><br/>We also ordered a side of Miss Kay's fries which was a cup of individual fries. Once again, these fries were probably from the same batch as the poutine fries as they were overfried. Despite this, the fries were generous and were seasoned deliciously.<br/><br/>The cookies and cream milkshake was really delicious. It was very evident that it was cookies and cream and there were actual cookie pieces throughout the shake. All the toppings were delicious and very indulgent. Definitely something you would order once in a while as it was very sweet, but a nice treat. There was quite a lot of whipped cream, in my opinion probably could have done with less.<br/><br/>Overall, Miss Kay's is a great location to visit with friends for some really nice indulgent food. I would definitely return and would love to try the onion rings and other burger options!

Get in my belly! Yummo burger fix. Hey, we all need to spoil ourselves once in a while, and Kays is the place to do it. So mouthwateringly kick ass. Must eats are the onion rings, fries with siriacha sauce mayo. Thickshakes...OMG! All burgers are juicy and wide mouth worthy.

With so much burger choice in brisbane it really comes down to personal preference. I had the double cheese burger and found the patty to be cooked well rather than medium and it lacked flavour. The bun seemed a little dense making it quite a mission to eat. Maybe it was my burger choice but i wasnt too impressed. Nice aptmosphere and good service. Just was hoping for big things with this place from all the pics ive seen. <br/>

Been to Miss Kay’s afew times and it seems to be hit and miss. Sometimes the milkshakes are amazing but other times taste just like milk (probably depending on who’s making them) plus for $8.50 they’re quite expensive. The chips are okay, not better than anywhere else and at times cold. Nice juicy burgers though, but again depends on where or what you get. Saying this, I am a repeat customers so it’s not that bad.

I tried the 'Austin Flowers', as I love tempura vegetables and I've never had such a burger before. Whilst generous in size with a good bun, I found it a bit bland. The onion rings and chips were nice, and the food is reasonably priced. Lovely staff.

One of my old favourites that I have been attending for a few years now, Keeps providing me with the goods each time. I order the special burger of the month to mix it up but I would highly recommend the chicken burger and the classic cheeseburger that they do. Only problem with it was the dirty fries which were not really up to par, felt overwhelmed with flavours but the ingredients and the quality of those flavours wasn’t great. Love this place still and always will

After our wonderful experience at Melt Brothers, owners Justin and Felix passed on our contact to the management of Miss Kay's Burgers, which the also happen to have founded (pretty awesome life achievements imo). Receiving a gracious invite from the manager, the Tomcat  family and I soon found ourselves at their CBD store to try out a few of their menu options.
FoodPlease
The burgers were gross and neither me or my partner could eat half of one. Are there no good burger places in Brisbane? <br/>My partners one tasted like the meat was off. <br/>Not going to be returning.
J Chen
Great food generally, although some of their featured burgers are pretty terrible. The regular menu cheeseburgers and MK special burger are great, and their fries are seasoned nicely. They have a pretty good selection of sauces too, with ranch being a nice one that you don't see too often in Australia. <br/>No complaints about the staff either -- the ones I've met have ranged from pretty nice to very friendly, nothing worse.<br/>Love the location as well, they have a good amount of dine in space, nice decor, comfy seats, and a bathroom inside.
BeJay
Great location, friendly atmosphere <br/>Staff was kind,<br/>Taste not bad.<br/>But I’m not sure it has 14.5 dollars worth.<br/>It called M.K special burger lol<br/>
Linna (Gluten Free)
with a cute american diner feel about it, i had been keen on coming here to try the burgers for a while especially because they have gluten free options. nevertheless while i was looking thru the menu i was disappointed to see it was just regular cheeseburgers that were labelled as gluten free, so looking at the ingredients of the other burgers, i asked if the "get clucked" burger could be made gluten free and they said yes (basically, just "taking out some of the seasoning")<br/><br/>anyway so my friend and i ordered a chicken breast burger (get clucked) and the poutine burger (the one with fries inside). overall i have to say their gluten free buns are so much nicer than the ones from other places (cf: see my other gluten free burger reviews). the bun was pretty much the best part of my get clucked burger. there was plenty of chicken but unfortunately i found it just bit on the dry side -- they definitely could've drizzled on more of the mayo/guacamole etc etc. sure there was a small helping of pineapple and one slice of tomato that added some moisture to the burger but once those elements were gone, it was quite dry... cheese was decent and went well with the burger. <br/><br/>for the poutine burger, it was average (the beef patty, the buns etc) but the fries were definitely the best part about them. not sure if worth getting a poutine burger when you can order fries as a side... but anyway...<br/><br/>i think i would've been more keen to try out more of their food if it didn't seem like Just Another Overpriced Burger Joint. as much as i would've loved to try their milkshake unfortunately it doesn't come in dairy + gluten free varieties (even if they do have almond/soy options) :c<br/><br/>the ambience is nice although the lighting is not that great for taking photos of food. they did decorate for halloween~ but i think the most lacking part abt my experience here was just the food (and its price considering it's average quality) :c
Kyle Jones
Good burgers, very American. The pricing is about what you would expect. <br/><br/>I wouldn’t consider it to be the best burger I’ve had however it was a great American burger.
Jeff
Everything here was okay but not amazing. I think Burger Project has better burgers - the buns and sauces at Miss Kays weren't as impressive. The buffalo wings were decent but there are better around Brisbane. Overall just okay.
Paola Costa
Have been to Miss Kay's once as it is pretty close to my home. Ordered the Austin Flowers as it looked really different than average sandwiches. Was quite disappointed as cauliflowers were oily and tasteless. Very good atmosphere and fitout tough. Very friendly staff.

Tonight walking around town and feeling hungry I have a quick look at zomato and this is one of the first places to show up, the burger options look interesting enough so I decide to go for it.<br/><br/>Arriving there the place is almost full! Lots of people apparently enjoying their food which is usually a good sign.<br/><br/>After checking their menu I decided to try the Austin Flowers, the onion rings and the fries.<br/><br/>While we were waiting my partner was excited about their bookshelf as she thought the books were available for customers to read while waiting but once she tried to take one she found out they are glued to the shelf! That's not a bad thing but I thought it was worth mentioning.<br/><br/>The Austin Flowers burger looked impressive but it didn't match it's looks. The bun was a bit dry a bit more sauce would have been appreciated. The cauliflower was way over cooked with almost no texture left to it, although the menu states spiced tempura cauliflower most of the spiciness was coming from the sauce and not the cauliflower per se. Finally, I expected the tempura to be crunchier, there were some crunchy bits but most of it was soggy. I would rate it a 3 out of 5.<br/><br/>The fried were nicely seasoned and crunchy, also quite different from most burger joints as their fries were shoestring fries while most of places I've tried tend to go for wedges or chips. If there was a dipping sauce served together could have been even better nut the way it was served I would rate a 4 out of 5.<br/><br/>The onion rings or lightly battered and again nicely seasoned, I enjoyed them maybe even more than the fries but my partner complained they were too oily and again no dipping sauce served together. I would rate it a 4 out of 5.<br/><br/>Overall it's an average burger but the place has a really cool vibe and made me feel as if I wasn't in Brisbane but maybe somewhere in United States.

A small $4 cup of utterly ordinary fries as a forced inclusion on deliveries?  I thought I was paying extra for the driver already.  This is a shame as the burgers were nice.  Perhaps consider a minimum order value to discourage Deliveroo customers

I'm not one to believe the hype burger bars mushrooming all over town and it's not my first choice of lunch. I occasionally get a takeaway burger from Redhook, but that's pure convenience and I've gone off their cheese burger a bit. Ms Kays is a pleasant surprise. Great cheese burger no frills, if anything the chips were a bit oversalted, but not as bad as they do at Redhook. Will definitely go back here.
Ella
Friendly staff but average food. The burger was much bigger in reality. I expected a little more flavor in the chicken but it wasnt as great.
Cameron Miller
Rating is mainly for their Cheeseburger with Extra bacon. You get a lot of thick, juicy bacon for $2 compared to other places. Burger is a good size and good taste.<br/>Fries are alright and an OK serving size. You can also go the dirty fries and while they are huge serving I'm not a fan.<br/>Plenty of other interesting burger selections.<br/>Milkshakes are expensive. Mint could do with a bit more flavour. Cost is up there, but seems to be what other places charge.

Miss Kay's milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard! <br/><br/>Burgers, milkshakes, alcohol and sweet sweet vibes. Miss Kay's delivers the total diner-like experience without an overly Americanised theme. Right in the heart of Brisbane, it's actually a little greasy diamond in the rough. The pulled pork burger with added pineapple is ridiculously tasty and just enough to not make you feel bad about the milkshake you'll definitely want to order. I recommend the salted caramel, it's not too sweet but just enough to leave you satisfied. Not indulgent enough? Add a shot of alcohol- it's worth it.
Tracey
Partner and I had the Poutine and MK Special burgers last night and for the price were very disappointed and how long we had to wait for the order. Even my meat patty was half raw. Would not recommend going there.

Miss Kay's 😍 Probably my favourite burger joint in Brisbane. Their burgers are delicious and their onion rings are 10/10. Tried the O.G/ Ludacrisp & the Macdaddy - all amazing! Cool little place to eat!!

Average burger shop...Burger was too salty was too over seasoned i had to drink a gallon of water after this but i like the interior of this shop
Around The City
I love the burgers here and the milkshakes are pretty good as well. However, it is pricey for what you get so be prepared to spend at least $15-30 on yourself if you are wanting a side of fries or perhaps a milkshake to go along with your meal. My favourite burger is probably the mac daddy. If you want that extra carb binge I recommend it. The burger is stuffed with mac n cheese which levels up the whole burger to a different world. If you love peanut butter and Reese's, get the Elvis milkshake. It is so good and looks adorable, but be prepared to spend $8.50 on it.
Sophie Jean
Food was incredible, burger melts in your mouth, and my fave of the night, cheese fries. They were incredible. Reason for a four, the service could have been a little better but overall was a good experience. <br/>Will go back
Snowden Tapper
Overall it's good. Nothing to write home about, but does have a nice atmosphere/vibe and food is generally pretty tasty.<br/><br/>In my opinion does get a bit boring after eating there a few times, but food is never bland.
Angelina Chiu
Burgers are dry, and could get a better burger elsewhere for cheaper. Buffalo wings does not even come with ranch sauce. Can't even call it proper buffalo wings without the sauce.
@enticemebrisbane (Clarissa)
I enjoyed the cheeseburger, the beef patty was very juicy and a good amount of sauce (mustard etc.). The Poutine burger looks interesting and I'll have to go back to that soon.
DianaW
Bit overpriced for the so called "Dirty Fries" . Was thinking of trying them due to the quirky name & the fact they had tomato chilli added, however after the beautiful breakfast we had earlier this morning at  Bruno's I was loathing to take away those amazing flavors lingering around in my memory bank. Actually I was just passing this place & I needed coffee. Noticed it was Fonzie Abbot which is usually very good if made well & unfortunately this wasn't. Didn't get my desired hit
R
Ordered two overpriced cheeseburgers, one came with a completely jet-black-burnt patty and the other came pink and raw. Absolutely disgusting experience, will not return.
Sophie Gates
Was very disappointed in my meal here. I had the Austin Flowers, and it was horrible. It's predominant flavour was old oil, and left me feeling sick for the rest of the day. Milkshake was very disappointing too - tasted of cheap chocolate flavouring that the chucks of brownie floating in it failed to disguise. Would definitely not go back there.
The Devourer Of Food
Miss Kay hath dedicated her life and effort to making PartAHYAY both in the traditional drinking and gluttony sense, and figuratively in the "I'll kill you if you try to share my burger" sense. The wall of fame and shame is the proof where many tried but few succeed in the challenge to meet the bench mark of awesomeness. You have done humanity proud Miss Kay.

i went to miss kays and it was great!! At first there was only a few people working, but 15mins later there were heaps!! i ordered a cheeseburger and a James brownie milkshake with a side of fries. the cheeseburger was awesome, the milkshake was huge and amazing, and the fries were great!!!!! it was also reasonably priced. I will go back anytime!! :) Staff were also very nice, helpful and quick!

Burgers have really come back in vogue in the last few years and there are a lot of great shops out there...<br/><br/>One of the things I loved about quick food in the USA was the abundance of quality burgers and I believe Miss Kays is the closest to the great American food truck burgers we found along the west coast.<br/><br/>The crispy fried chicken burger with slaw was mint 👌 as are the fries with their generous dusting of dried flavours. Also the Miss Kays special was very tasty and well appointed for a high priced burger. Would have both again. <br/><br/>The wings were also nice however I'd say lay off the salt a little on the 'Miss Kays original' they were almost perfect, without a milk shake to cut through the salt they were unpalatable. I understand the necessity for a lot of salt to ensure a crispy texture however maybe consider serving with blue cheese sauce to cut through the salt. <br/><br/>Milk shakes for $8.50 should be extraordinary, unfortunately not... Better off with a soda... <br/><br/>Looking forward to another Miss Kay's date when I'm up that end of town again.
Greggy
First visit at Miss Kay's after hearing about all the hype. Sorry to say but it was very disappointing. Chips were soft and burnt and the burger was very average both in size and taste for the $12 asking price.
Honest Reviews
Walking in i was delighted by the indie, contemporary, retro vibe... real original and unique. Waiting at the counter two pretty rad looking fellas felt their hair was a greater priority than my service. Eventually i caught the bimbos attention and placed my order of a cheeseburger. After waiting several minutes the entire homeless population of Brisbane gave me a visit aswell as leaving me time to grab something of actual value; a slurpee next door. At long last 2 plates are brought to my table one being placed down, followed by the waiter explaining the double cheeseburger infront of me. Aware this is not my order i request my actual burger in which he akwardly replaces it. But the burger was actually fng good aye, would dine again i f with miss kays the long way

A recent visit to Brisbane had me researching for burgers and our first night (after a day of sipping cider in extreme heat) we landed at Miss Kays Burger Bar. . Burgers are a great eat to help sop up some alcohol. I went with something different and got the Poutine burger.  A juicy, med rare beef patty with bacon bits, haloumi, fries, gravy, pickle, lettuce and mayo.
Meatballs And Beef Cheeks
My wife and I have attempted to dine at Miss Kay's several times, but there has always been a line and the service has been slow enough that we've given up each time before ordering.<br/><br/>We got lucky today - we walked past and there was no line and no waiting. The only issue was that we just tucked into amazing burgers at Miel Container. Now to be fair, I can always find room for a good burger, so this wasn't really a problem at all. Actually, it was more of an opportunity to provide commentary on a head-to-head burger challenge.<br/><br/>Miss Kay's vs. Miel Container.<br/><br/>$15 for a double cheeseburger and $8.50 for a milkshake- this better be amazing !<br/><br/>Unfortunately, it wasn't...<br/><br/>Good, yes. Amazing, no.<br/><br/>Two burger patties, two slices of cheese, pickle, onion, ketchup, mustard and Miss Kay's special sauce. Sauces oozing out, hardly any pickles and an average to above average burger at best. At $10 this would have been worthwhile, but at $15 it was very overpriced. The milkshake was worth $6, but not $8.50.<br/><br/>Compare this to my burger at Miel Container 30 minutes earlier and it was no contest. Like the Master Chef judges, Miel Container was the hands down winner.
T Man
The most overrated food in Brisbane. What's the deal? Why do people pay $14 for a cheeseburger that doesn't taste as good as Maccas? Do yourself a favour and go to Miel if you want award winning burgers that are worth the trip past Maccas.
Emily M
FLAVORLESS FOOD. Fried chicken had no flavoring aside from the overwhelming taste of straight oil. Both burgers were cold. My burger had pineapple on it which wasn't drained properly and left my entire burger soggy. It was also clearly from a can and made the rest of the burger cold. Second burger was beef and all beef is grain fed and had an extremely gamy/beefy flavor that made me feel nauseous. Chips were shoestring and flavorless. There are better burgers out there and better burgers to be made by even novice cooks. People deserve better food and shouldn't be paying these prices for such a terrible product. <br/><br/>The food was bad and the service was bad. I wouldn't recommend this place to my dog.
KelzFoodChronicle
The burgers were oily, soggy, surprisingly limited flavor. The staff were too busy flirting with each other to notice they had plates to clear and customers to serve. The toilet has no lock and a massive hole in the door that anybody can see through. Oh and I was given food poisoning!!! That's right food poisoning. Wouldn't recommend.
Ben Law
Delicious burgers. Had the OG Burger with bacon n cheese. Nice pink and juicy in the middle, tasty soft buns as well. Fries were hot and crispy (skinny french fries too, the only way to go!) Buffalo wings were good as fried wings go, but it seemed to lack love as the sauce was squirted on top as opposed to tossing the wings in sauce.<br/><br/>Small criticism, 9/10 as burgers go!
Marjorie
Had the worst buffalo wings I've ever had in my entire life☹️. Actually threw up after eating them. The $10 burger tasted more like a maccas quarter pounder. Never coming back
Matty D
Overpriced and poor service/ordering system.<br/><br/>The live music is good but the layout downstairs is awkward<br/><br/>The food is sub-par compared to $1.99 burgers in America. Which makes paying $14+ hard, after accounting for the currency and higher costs here. <br/><br/>The shakes were the biggest disappointment.
Eve
Very underwhelming - the burgers were small and not filling, no one in our group enjoyed their burgers. The service was terrible - the staff took over half an hour to clear our dirty plates and when I asked if our table of 6 could have some water they gave me one glass of water. Will not be returning.
Hungrygirl
I really enjoy this place. The service is quick and the atmosphere is good. I had the pulled pork burger the first time I went which I thought was quite dry but I have this place another chance because I'd heard good things and I was glad I did. I wouldn't get the onion rings again but I love the salted caramel shake and the mac and cheese burger is delicious. I will definitely keep coming back here.
Bridget Townsend
Delicious and tasty burgers. Friendly and cool atmosphere, with bold and bright branding. Seems to attract all of the city folk. Would definitely go back again, need to try more of the menu!

This place is awesome! The burgers and shakes taste like America. It's like a fancier more delicious shake shack. We need more miss Kay's outlets around Brisbane! I feel like because it's on George street, a lot of people don't know it's there. If you haven't been YOU MUST GO THERE!!! Loved it
Janna Crossley
Really delicious burgers, perfect fries, yummy milkshakes, fantastic service and great value for money. Couldn't fault the place. Left really full and satisfied and would come back in a heart beat. Thanks guys, loved it! 😍😍

Excellent American burgers in the heart of the CBD! The cheeseburger is delicious and the fries or onion rings make a great accompaniment. Beers on tap :)

My partner and I were searching for a good place to eat tonight so we jumped on zomato and came across Miss Kays. We did expect it to be packed but surprisingly got straight in and got stuck into the menu. It probably took 15mins to decide which burgers we wanted as they all sounded amazing but finally agreed on some dirty fries, buffalo wings, a cheese burger and the poutine burger. It did take about half hour for our food to come out although The entire meal and our choice of burgers were so delicious and very satisfying. The dirty fries were crispy and cheesy, the beef on both burgers was thick and succulent, jam packed with all the toppings cheese sauces and at a very generous size also. We were really impressed and will definitely be back again. Next time I'm going to try the 5meat patty burger challenge in 15mins lol.
Millicen
OMG this place was so GOOD! My partner and I had our cheat meal here tonight. SO TASTY. I got the cheeseburger and the dirty fries and they where both super tasty, the burger was a decent size and non greasy. My partner got the poutine burger which looked amazing too! Staff were friendly and we...

Fried chicken was dry, way too oily and sweet, waffles too sweet too. The Triple B burger was so oily it fell apart as I was trying to eat it.
SpicyRamekin
I have yet to try a burger more satisfying than the MK Special, or set my eyes on a burger more tantalizing than the Mac Daddy. Miss Kay's service was prompt, however it was a weeknight and the place was relatively empty.  This place has topped my list of best burger joint in Brisbane, however I wouldn't bother with the fries or onion rings.
D_travelbug
Pretty appalling that you cannot place orders over the phone or internet it is 2016.I have not experienced the food as I find this lack of  service very inconvenient.
Eat-outer
I liked this place; the food, the vibe, the people. We were here on a Friday's night and the place was crowded, the line was long. It took us a while to order and receive our food but sitting by the window facing outside, people watching and a great company made our time go by fast. <br/><br/>Milkshake looked a little scary so I opted for something a little less heath threatening looking. But friend seemed to enjoy it a lot. The chicken wings I dare say theirs was one of the best in Brisbane. It was full of flavour, crispy, and juicy. I love love good chicken wings. <br/><br/>Will be back again to try other things.
Chloekt
Came her early Saturday night. I had the ludacrisp, partner had the poutine burger. We also shared some wings and a vanilla milkshake. The ludacrisp was good, but the batter was really thick, but the poutine burger was amazing, should have picked that instead! Milkshake was far too sweet, but the wings were really tasty, juicy and messy, just like good wings should be! Would definitely go again and make a different burger choice!
Tasting Plate
They changed the dirty fries 😩. I find this place way better during the week than the weekend. Cheeseburger with bacon is pretty tasty but please bring back the old dirty fries!
Isabelle
Friendly service, nice atmosphere and presentation. Although i have only had the cheeseburger I loved it. Very sweet and american style burger. The milkshakes are also very good, although slightly expensive. Overall has a fantastic vibe and is worth trying

The beef patties in the burgers are tender and full of flavour. I was quite impressed by the interior decor - it had the authentic American diner feel. Prices are reasonable, as are the serving sizes. I'd come back again.

I had heard negative reviews about Miss Kay’s but, deterred, we decided to give it a go and see for ourselves, and I’m glad that we did. While the beer selection is fairly ordinary, the food menu is pretty good. We ordered the Poutine and Mac Daddy burgers which were fantastic with great American-style flavours and definitely some of the best burgers I’ve had. However the fries were average and the onion rings overly battered and underwhelming which was really heartbreaking to a long-lived onion ring advocate. If you’re into American-style burgers, Miss Kay’s is definitely worth a visit and they’re some of the best available in Brisbane.

I've tried half the menu.<br/>For burgers that are presented so well, the taste is surprisingly average. The flavour is homogenous - you might as well be eating two Quarter Pounders smushed together.<br/>No need to return here again.

Crazy awesome burgers, nice people and tasty wings. That mac daddy burger gave my girlfriend serious food envy and I refused to share. Win 4 me!

Excellent laid back venue. An American feel to the place with many booths. Great burgers that were stacked high. Food arrived quickly. Drinks were mixed well.

Came here for dinner on a weekday and it was fairly busy but I was surprised on how quick the food came out especially since my friends and I had ordered 4 burgers and multiple sides. <br/>I ordered the the Mac daddy which tasted alright, but the Mac and cheese was very bland so it wasn't as amazing as I heard it was. My friend offered to let me taste her burger which was the MK special and I really enjoyed it, the crunchy onion rings added great taste and texture to the burger. <br/>The mint milkshake we shared had a lot of cream on it and it wasn't very thick, but that is how I generally like my milkshakes so it was rather enjoyable to drink before the burgers came out out.<br/>Not too sure if I would come back here though, it's nice but doesn't wow me enough to make me wanna come back.

We always end up here for a quick and easy lunch when we are in the city. The Ludacrisp burger is a fav and the ice cream sandwich is a must.
Nat ❤️s Food
The chicken ludacrisp burger is amaaaazing!! Tender fall apart chicken that stayed crispy right until the end. The service was efficient and friendly

Not sure why a search for 'ribs' brought up Miss Kay's, but it did. While alas I did not find any ribs I did find a damn tasty pork burger.... So good it prompted me to write my very first review!
Nick
I've had the cheeseburger and the Ludakrisp (pictured). Both are fantastic burgers. The fried chicken on the Ludakrisp is super light and tasty. The slaw on the burger is delicious but gets a little messy so pick up some napkins and get stuck in. The shoestring fries are crispy but go cold pretty quickly. It can get busy here but I believe Miss Kay's is worth the wait. Also I'm pretty sure they have Mighty Ducks on repeat??? It's been on both nights that I've come here.
Ranga With An Appetite
Nice American style burger, I'm a bit bias with my burgers as I tend to favour American style. These fall just second for me to Ribs & Burgers on James Street

BREAKFAST !!!!!! After seeing the a frame sign On George st divert using a bacon and egg breakfast burger i took up the $5 offer and at 5bucks SOLD. Great quality axon smoky and plentiful. Maybe a littleess rushed bit more caramelisation would have got rid of that (I'm eating all the fat) feeling. Will get again for sure at discounted price.

Everything you could want from a burger experience. Juicy burgers, vibrant atmosphere, terrific sides, and awesome milkshakes. All your favourites with a Miss Kay's twist. The mint milkshake and wings with special seasoning were particular highlights.<br/><br/>Food was prepared quickly, even during a Thursday lunch rush. Food was hot and service was friendly and efficient.
Slick Chef Extraordinaire. Gangster Of Food.
Miss Kays was not too bad, similar to a lot of other restaurants around Brisbane doing this kind of food so it wasn't really a stand out for me. I thought the burgers and sides were average, nothing special. But! The ice cream sandwich was so so f*$#ing good!!!! Would definitely come back just to have another one of these bad boys. We really enjoyed the shakes too!

Had a lovely time at Miss Kay's on a Saturday night. Wonderful ambient atmosphere with a fabulous live singer and friendly staff. Food is delicious for what you pay, and the milkshakes are a spectacle. <br/>Shared the OG burger and the Ludacrisp burger with my friend, both were hot and delicious. <br/>It's not really the kind of place you go if you're on a health kick, but definitely worth a visit.
David Ji
Their cheeseburger would've been great if not for their choice of bun. The patty was perfectly pink and well seasoned accompanied by melty American cheese and just the right amount of sauce and pickles.<br/>The buffalo wings however were a bit too heavy on the vinegar and portions remarkably small for the price.<br/>Overall the food is quite decent and can be excellent with some small improvements.
Howgoodisfoodbut
Miss Kay's has become a burger institution of Brisbane.. Safe to say one of the best burgers I've had!<br/><br/>Would recommend trying any one of their juicy burgers, but my favourite is the MK special. If you work in the city it's great for a week lunch

Tried the porky pig with onion rings. The burger was lacking a little something to hit the spot but overall not a bad little burger. There was plenty of meat but might of needed a little more sauce. The onion rings where nicely seasoned but were too greasy.<br/><br/>Round 2 - 1/4/16<br/><br/>Had to give another burger a try went with the Mac daddy burger and Dirty fries to share.<br/><br/>Burger has macaroni and cheese which I though was a little under flavoured, was expecting it to be the star flavour in the burger. Over all nice burger but again didn't really hit the spot for me.<br/><br/>Dirty fries to share went down very well, fries was freshly cooked and well seasoned.
Sarah Ryan
The buffalo wings had the right vinegar/cayenne pepper sauce - but not quite hitting the mark compared to smoke and wing blaster. The burger was good (a bit more gravy would have help) but the staff were great and the service fast
Amyy Cake
Came as a group and tried the cheese burger with Mac n cheese and was surprised at how nice it tasted. Other burgers; double cheese burger, ludakrisp and veg-head, meals came out quick and everything tasted pretty great. Chicken fillets and veg patty could have been drained off better they were a little more oily than we would have liked. <br/>My only real issue was the service, tables were left dirty for way too long and after asking a waitress to clean the table with the look she gave us you'd think we asked her to give up her first child.

Great Service, Great Burgers, Great Burger Challenge and milkshakes are awesome, defiantly going to be back. Its a Must see whilst in brisbane
Richard Austin
Great atmosphere and amazing food. Has the be one of the best (if not the best) burger joint in Brisbane. A must try!!! I even tried the burger challenge they had. The most tastiest challenge I've done so far. Ha!
Sen-sei
On point! Hard to find a decent veggie burger around town but the Veg Head at Miss Kay's kills it. Beautiful toasty bread with a great veggie patty that tastes fresh and delicious. Only recommendation would be to put some more sauce/relish in there so it's not as dry, but still much better than...
Emma
Will definitely be back to have some more chicken wings, made fresh, crispy and juicy. I tried the cheeseburger too. It was very filling and full of flavour. The shakes were yum. Very friendly staff.
Ai Ng
This one was a surprise for Brisbane! Definitely delighted by the juicy paddies and the crispy chicken wings and onion rings! Would definitely go again, would recommend beating the 12pm rush, line was out the door down the the next shop.
Mr Scotch
Very Average.<br/><br/>Group of two ordered on the same number. One patron finished before the 2nd persons burger arrived. <br/><br/>Buns are ordinary, burger tasted alot like Wopper Burger at double price<br/><br/>"Chilli Fries" are not chilli Fries at all. They're just Fries with Melted Cheese and Chilli Flavoured Sauce. This isn't close to being considered Chilli.

Came here after reading the glowing reviews, and have to wonder if it's the same place.<br/>Had the Ludacrisp burger, the Mac Daddy burger, chicken wings, and Miss Kay's fries. The fries were shoestring fries, very similar to what you'd get in McDonald's, and the spice sprinkled on it may have been paprika, but apart from adding colour, didn't do much for them. The chicken wings were crispy on the outside and still juicy on the inside, but were also overseasoned and very oily. Oddly in contrast, the fried chicken in the Ludacrisp burger didn't seem to have any seasoning on it, and the supposed slaw and BBQ sauce didn't add any flavour to it either. It was a sadly tasteless burger. The Mac Daddy looked promising on the menu, but came to us with a beef patty only a millimetre or so thicker than a McDonald's patty and dismally overcooked. The macaroni and cheese was dry and rubbery, and added nothing. There were a few squishy fries stuck in there that were also just there to be another line on the menu.<br/>The only saving graces were the friendly wait staff and the two musicians providing the live music.
Franseizi912
Please come to Melbourne! Cheap burgers (as burgers should be) but with all the quality from much more expensive burgers....well in Melbourne anyway. Real American feel. Porky Pig and a side of onion rings was the ultimate combo. Keep up the good work!
The Tasty Plate
With so many new burger places opening in Brisbane, the competition is fierce! But Miss Kay's is a very worthy competitor. I really enjoyed the cheeseburger, it had just the right amount of sauce and packed a flavor punch. I can't wait to go back soon and try the Mac Daddy (mac n cheese on a burger - yes please).

I find myself dreaming about Miss Kays dirty fries and ludacrisp paired with a alcoholic ginger beer it's the perfect lunch time treat or after work dinner.

Burgers to die for - My partner is from the states and gleefully told me that the cheeseburger she was chowing down on was the best burger she has had since leaving the states. my burger too was juicy, saucy and delicious. everything was perfect from the atmosphere, to the almost instant zero delay between ordering and food on the table. never change!
Rebecca
Updated<br/>Just a word of warning they stop serving breakfast at 1030 am on a Sunday<br/><br/>Original review 16/12/15<br/>Ok but not great. The onion rings were too heavily battered, you had to pay for sauce and it only came in a small tube. The budget was ok, but the patty seemed really processed. I might return to try something else but not in a hurry.
Gav
Best burgers in Brisbane all the food is amazing and really good price.would highly recommend.the staff are really nice and live music and the beer is really good to
Trevor McGakkis
Truly, the beers and burgers experience doesn't get much better than Miss Kay's. Have been here many a times since their opening right across the road from the Casino, but my last visit saw me indulge upon some fine little concoction entitled the Ludakrisp. Surprisingly juicy fried chicken with slaw, accompanied by a healthy dose of their dirty New York-style fries. Could have easily downed 7, so this Burger Challenge thing they have running has definitely piqued my interest. An array of classic beers and craft beers to match, I 110% recommend getting down for a dine at Miss Kays, complete with ambient red neon sign for that final American diner touch.

Tried this place out based on word of mouth rave reviews. Went for dinner on a week night and couldn't believe how busy it was! The live music was a nice touch - however it does make it hard to hold a conversation. I ordered the standard cheeseburger - it wasn't what I was expecting but none the less it was good. It had flavour and the patty was quiet juicy. But it's more of an upmarket maccas style burger. The fries were okay - not the best and not the worst I've had. One day I will make it back and give one of the other burgers a go.
Jolly Jones
Average place. Service was ok on a busy day. Hot sauce was not available on request. So not happy. Overall food quality was average. We will try others around before returning.
Cheryl
Very juicy burger , one of my favorite spot when feeling like to eat some meats. Fries are very nice with the sauces too. Price is reasonable too.
Mitch Hooper
Great burgers, fries and shakes. Simple things done really well with quality ingredients. Great atmosphere and styling too. Every time we come here it's been spot on. One of brisbanes best burger joints.
M.T Wentz
Burger was perfect, an absolute joy to eat after a long day theme parking! The beef was cooked just right, and the Mac and cheese/maple bacon I added was pure decadence. I enjoyed the dirty fries on the side - very much like nachos, and a sauce that reminded me of Louisiana hot sauce. For my health conscious friend, she loved the chicken Caesar salad - and is now hooked on this place. We'll be back!
AteToooMuch
Second time at Miss Kays and the burgers impressed again. The Luducrisp is a great chicken burger, it's always juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The beef patty they make here is good too, it's not overcooked and has a good flavour. One of the better burger joints in Brisbane!
JustASlice
Total. Burger. Heaven.<br/>Dirty Fries- OMG<br/>Food coma but can't. stop. eating.<br/><br/>We were recently visiting from Melbourne for the weekend and found this new spot since we'd last been to Brisbane. Super cool. A lot like a decent burger joint you'd find back home in Melbs. Food was simple, tasty, cheesy, moorish, basically everything you want in a burger and fries.<br/><br/>Side note- the live guitarist was freakin awesome as well! Anyone who can make Blackstreet's No Diggity into a smooth, stripped down acapella deserves a year's supply of dirty fries.
Rhys.young90
Such a good Burger. Definitely one of the best in Brisbane. Loved our shakes too. Great setup with love music. Will be back soon to try the dirty fries.
Grub Guzzler
Had the MK Special, was good, not great. Mainly the actual patty wasn't great. The dirty fries were very good though, best I've had before, definitely recommend!
Ladyhawke196
All I can say is WOW. This place is incredible. Great vibe, great theme, great music, and even more incredible burgers. Seriously. The burgers are the greatest burgers I've ever eaten. The foundation of any good burger, the buns, were perfect - crunchy but soft and didn't fall apart. Also, in classic American diner style they have a list of shakes on steroids - the one I selected was The James Brownie, which had actual chunks of brownie served on top. 😍<br/><br/>My partner got a double cheeseburger, which was one of the greasy stones on the path to heart disease, which I would *gladly* skip down if it meant I got to consume these bad boys every day. Perfectly seared beef, American cheese, crisp fresh pickles, lashings of ketchup... *drools* mother of god.<br/><br/>I am not as impressed with my choice, I got the MK Special burger. Everything was great on it, but in comparison to the classic taste of the godlike cheeseburger here it just pales. If you love a burger with complex but subtle flavour notes, maple bacon and the biggest onion rings I've ever seen then this is for you. <br/><br/>Another member of our party got the Ludacrisp which was also cooked to perfection. Crispy fried chicken, crunchy house slaw, more fresh pickles and a very, very tasty bbq sauce. <br/><br/>We aMclso got their signature dessert the ice cream sandwich. It comes frozen SOLID but quickly sorts itself out. Vanilla bean ice cream sandwiched between two choc chip cookies with Nutella... Nuff said. <br/><br/>This place is absolutely a must do in Brisbane CBD. Put this on your bucket list, it's what's been missing from your life.

I have wanted to try Miss Kays for a while and I definitely wasn't disappointed! The prices were really reasonable and we could barely eat all of our food. We ordered onion rings, buffalo wings, dirty fries and between the three of us tried the mac daddy and the ludakrisp. The mac daddy perhaps needed a little more of the mac & cheese but the beef patty was really tender. The chicken on the ludakrisp was amazing! Would definitely return and recommend everyone to try out miss kay's.
Hilary
The Mac daddy is what dreams are made of! Having tossed up between the cheeseburger and Mac daddy I ordered the Mac daddy and spent the time waiting for my food to come thinking I had made the wrong decision. Miss Kay's proved me wrong, and I am so glad they did. I could not stop raving about my burger for the rest of the night. We also ordered buffalo wings which tasted fine but the burger was the winner for the night.
AnnDee Kao
Loved it! Had the cheeseburger and dirty fries, really enjoyed the flavour and not too heavy. Also reasonably priced, atmosphere is great and service is prompt. Food came out very fast which is a plus considering we were a group of 15+. Will be coming back!
Stacey M
Burgers are delicious and a reasonable price. Fries were good, and loads of cheese toppings, but I would prefer the option of thick cut as shoestrings get cold in about 5 mins. Such a funky venue, great range of indoor and outdoor seating. Staff are all friendly and helpful, even when the place is super busy, and the owner is a top notch guy! Great place for lunch, catch up with friends, or after work drink and people watching.
Heidib89
Really friendly service! The milkshakes tasted great but unfortunately you don't get a lot of shake for the price you pay for it! Didn't get to try the food but will go again to try the burgers!
James Straker
Great buffalo wings, great cold beer. Awesome service and good outdoor seating area for people watching.<br/><br/>Decent prices and good serving sizes<br/><br/>Also had the cheeseburger which was an great authentic American style burger !
Mollstagram
Have eaten at this joint two times, and I have tried two burgers; one chicken and one beef. Cheeseburger was delicious, and at a price of $10 with that almost sweet bun, how could I resist? The fries too are hot, seasoned and just yummy. When I arrived for a second round, I decided to take a risk and order the Jerked Chicken Burger. It was quite average to be honest. Supposedly spicy but I didn't taste anything vaguely hot.The chicken breast was almost burnt and it was basically drenched in mayo. Was a shame, especially since my friend was happily munching on a cheeseburger. This has not discouraged me, however, and shouldn't discourage you too. Will be back very soon to try other burgers and am hoping for a better chicken burger next time.

My recent vacation to Brisbane held many surprises, in particular the number of openings and closings of restaurants.  When I lived in Brisbane, I knew there were lots of changes afoot, but like the proverbial 'frog in hot water' you don't really notice the change in temperature until it's too late.  Coming back after eight months away was like being dropped into a vat of boiling water, the changed foodie landscape was plain to see.
Matt
Had a speacial there today which was a chicken parmigiano burger which was ok..everyone else at my table raved about how good their pulled pork burger was so i would rate this burger place very nice. Good service, and really nice milkshakes!!

Taking the spot of where gastropub Villager used to be, Miss Kay's started off early in 2015 as a limited-run, pop up burger bar. This must have been proven to be a success, as quite a number of customers showed up during that fortnight, and now here it is as one of the hot spots of the year - at any point, it is a busy little place. Does it deserve to be? The short answer yes, and the long answer will be yes many times. <br/><br/>I had tried it during the pop-up trial, and was quite impressed. Thus, when it materialised into being one of the hot spots, part of me knew that I had to eventually get here. But, how? Well, my friend had some free time so I went to meet her for brunch one day in the city. Using this opportunity I suggested maybe a burger and it was off to here. <br/><br/>During the time it was a pop up restaurant, restoration was already underway. This fit out contains two stories, and use was definitely being made of it and it is being effectively used right now. Upstairs can be booked for events, and it was closed during the time the two of us were here - much to her chagrin. There are a couple of televisions playing movies from the 1980s, and it has a big bookshelf that has all sorts of novels on display. However, these are display only - I know, because when trying it out during the pop-up trial, I attempted to get one of the books out without a lot of success only to be reminded it is merely display - I am sure they get that a lot. Up on the top level, it is like a lounge serving American cuisine. <br/><br/>Come onto the entrance level, and many aspects of the interior design are like the stereotyped American diner you see around. This is from the neon sign, to the friendly atmosphere, to the choice of using red with the seats (particularly booths), and the use of trays for plates, along with the black brick wall. Pop music circa 1980s plays over the loudspeakers. It was so much like that typical diner, that my friend even said it was only missing waitresses on roller-skates. <br/><br/>Finally, there is the al fresco dining complete with a window for the sidewalk to get orders to go (note: coffee, always a good chance for more money there). Several houses are on the pavement, with elevate seating and high tables. Considering this is right in the heart of the city, it ain't bad having three different dining styles available. <br/><br/>Which reminds me of the service. You cannot go for that diner feel, without going full ball and having pleasant and smiley service. That they did. It added more to it, and one waitress was even a good sport reminding my friend and me it might be a few minutes before the orders were ready. Good points, and I might not even have noticed if it weren't mentioned. With its popularity, you bet that it is constantly buzzing. Food is ordered as per usual at the counter, and getting the cutlery and napkins are done by self-service. <br/><br/>The menu is one of the most simple, thus one of the most realised ones within the city. And this is one that is a fair bit better if you are on a budget. The main stay of their menu is the burgers; it is a modest menu, and the burgers are straightforward with their toppings. It is all American style. A few other snack items are available to be put onto the side to have with your burger. Come in during the morning, and they have a few simple items for breakfast; these don't deviate too much from the bacon and egg variety (had it been here during brunch - those chicken and waffles would have been the order hands down). Expanding onward, they also have a drinks menu - it has all kinds of craft beers and that, but for the diner experience spiders, coffee and milkshakes are where it is at. Those they deliver. <br/><br/>Anyways, onto the meals. From the selection, each burger sounds good or at least there are enough to be indecisive for a while. That is one reason I often read menus before going to a place. This was one such place, and therefore I knew what I was going to get from the get go. It was none other than their MK Special, and because I am greedy- and like to constantly build burgers up - ordered it with some macaroni cheese (besides, the Mac Daddy - which came with macaroni cheese on it - was what I sampled during the pop-up period). The MK Special is one of the biggest burgers they have, consisting of a beef patty, maple bacon, an onion ring, American cheese, lettuce, pickle, and a combination of sweet barbecue sauce and mayonnaise. This might not have been the absolute biggest burger that I have had, but it was still pretty damn bit - I had trouble fitting my mouth around it, and it was stuck with a toothpick through it.<br/><br/>More importantly, the burger itself was delicious. Ingredients really filled out the burger, and mine was pretty much going lop-sided on the plate. The bun did have a bit of a sweet under-taste to it, which I got used to. The meat patty was solid, and from a good cut of beef, juicy and plump. The macaroni was so worth getting, being robust, full of cheese and just a delight. Also another good addition was the onion ring, done in the American style - all huge, lightly battered and hot - with plenty of sweetness dripping out from it. As for the bacon, maybe a bit more on the grill to become crispy, but we are talking about personal preference there. I can take or leave the American cheese, but melting it helped make the burger. As for the vegetables, they did not feel like an afterthought; there was a handful of lettuce on the burger easily, and pickle is just simply got a great, vinegary flavour that adds to burgers. Thumbs up here. <br/><br/>To share between the two of us, I got an order of the dirty fries. This was a large pile of crispy, well-cooked shoestring fries topped with a vegetarian tomato chili, shredded cheese and sour cream. If it wasn't already said, the serving was huge and substantial even between two people - and this is not modest, small stomachs that are being talked about. The cheese was melted and cooked to the extent, that it had the cheese chips in part. The salsa was definitely made in house, and was juicy and sweet, plus the sour cream topped it all off. Also, quite good and a worthy side plus extra filling. <br/><br/>To drink on the side, I almost had to by compulsion go for a milkshake, which is what I did. It is not like any other milkshake, at least not Australian-style - they are flavoured with candies, and given a few syrup flavours. These drinks they have are each named after a musician, getting the name pun into the flavour where possible, and it was a toss up for me. Eventually, I ended up getting the Elvis flavour. peanut butter, crushed Reece's cup, chocolate syrup, topped with whipped cream and a Reece's cup. This was as every bit as good as it sounds. The various bits of chocolate was delicious, and it had a fantastic nutty taste plus a cold, creamy texture that was topped off - literally this time - by a generous dollop of whipped cream, and the bit of candy which I went for first. Get the insulin, because you would well be in a sugar coma after this. No need for dessert, this is dessert enough. If you do get to this place, a milkshake is recommended. <br/><br/>This was worth the wait. At the end of it, I was feeling really full. It was all that it was cracked up to be. It had a bright, lively atmosphere that is really casual, the portions are both generous and reasonable to the price and you could easily stay inside all day, it has that kind of feel to it. Overall, it is more about the aesthetics mixed with the food than the food on its own. To sum it up, this is like something specialised from Fortitude Valley has made its way to the dead center of the city and it is welcome. <br/>

Stopped in for post drinking meal and was treated to some great live music by a very talented blonde singer. Crispy Chicken burger was really great and onion rings, nice selection of beers too. Good service. will return again

Probably one of the nicest burgers i have had in a while, all the food we had was delicious. Perhaps the softdrinks could be a littlw larger as we didnt try the milkshakes this time round.
VAULTGIRL
Good honest burgers. I had the cheeseburger and really enjoyed it - the meat patty could have been cooked a little longer for my taste but I still really enjoyed it. Miss Kay's Onion rings are to die for but I'd leave the buffalo wings next time as they were a bit underwhelming.
Steve
Burgers were good. Fresh crisp salad and fresh rolls. They really aren't the biggest though and I was left hungry still after one. Once u add the cost of sides in to fill you up it starts getting a bit pricey.
Piffthemagicdragon
Great dirty and quick burger joint. MK special is fantastic, love the onion rings - some of the best rings in Brisbane. Set up and music are chilled.
Raimee.
We have been trying to find the best vegetarian burger around brisbane unfortunately Miss Kays didnt mean the mark on my herbivorous needs. Perhaps the hype is for all the meaty burgers they have but I cant vouch for that.
Betty & Jason
I get the ludakrisp everytime I go, it's always amazing. The crunchy chicken with the flavoure filled slaw and pickles hits the spot everytime. The fries are great but the chilli fries are even better. The price is high but it's worth it for the food! it's always busy, service is a little slow and food comes out at different times.
Kirra
I've only been to Miss Kay's once but it was a nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, delicious chilli fries and huge burgers for an affordable price that makes me want to go back very soon.
Yencheese
I've had varied experiences at Miss Kay's - the first time I went, I ordered a Cheeseburger which was average and had too much sauce in it. The second time, I ordered a Mac Daddy and was pleasantly surprised. It was delicious - all the different flavours in the burger worked brilliantly together and it was well worth the 30 minute wait. I wouldn't recommend coming here for a quick bite as it does get very busy, especially at lunch times.
Yorkie_Traveller
I’d seen this place on social media quite a few times now and decided to give it a try one Friday lunchtime.<br/><br/>We arrived just before midday and there was no queue, by the time we’d ordered there was a few waiting and then within 5 mins the queue was out of the door! My tip is to get there early or face a wait!<br/><br/>I ordered the Jerk Chicken burger and fries. We didn’t wait too long, Back to the Future was on the TV which made the wait much more interesting!<br/><br/>The burger was a decent size, the bread was fresh and nice and soft while the salad was also fresh and crunchy. The chicken was nice with some jerk flavours going on but could have been more spicy for my tastes, overall a tasty burger. The fries were nice though nothing particularly special.<br/><br/>As this was a workday lunch I couldn’t try any of the beers, but I could see they had a good range of tap beers and a decent happy hour advertised for later in the day.<br/><br/>I would definitely go back, although I wouldn’t queue out of the door to go.

Great burgers, friendly staff, perfect location. <br/><br/>Only downside - Miss Kays Special Sauce is not dairy free; however overall very accommodating to dietary requirements.

After arriving at our first destination for a casual Friday lunch we were told to expect a 20 minute wait on the food so we skipped that venue and came to a group consensus to move on to Miss Kay's Burger Bar where we arrived to find the line up snaked out the front door and along the pathway. Much to our amazement, the line moved quickly and the waiter was quick to find us a table for all six of us (great venue for larger groups!). Within five to ten minutes we had ordered and were seated waiting for our meals to come. I ordered the Ludakrisp Chicken Burger which I must say was very simple but done extremely well. The crispy batter was crunchy without being dowsed in oil and the chicken was cooked perfectly and still tender as anything. All of our meals came out within a few minutes of each other which is what you want when you all have to get back to the office on time. Highly impressed with Miss Kay's and will definitely be returning for anotherr lunchtime burger fix!
HH
Yum. Yum. Yum! Burgers are awesome (not a fan of the medium cooked patties though). Drinks on the expensive side. Been a few times and always good.
Monica Sottile
I've heard good things about this place so thought I'd check it out. It was pretty busy but service was good, I got the jerk chicken burger and it was nice but the bread was a bit sweet. The chips weren't bad, I've had better, but it was a nice dining experience.

Edit: MISS KAY's NOW DOES SHAKES. SOO GOOD! <br/><br/>Another great burger point around Brisbane. Located on George Street, my work mates and I arrived to a massive line up for the restaurant. Being keen foodies, we knew that the burgers would be great here. I ordered the classic burger, while my mates order the Ludakrisp and the MK special. The burgers were one of the best I've had in Brisbane so far. The cheeseburger was good, with a tasty, smokey burger pattie and a great sauce to match. However the stand out was the Ludakrisp, someone I'll order next time. The only bad thing I can say is that you have to pay for condiments like tomato sauce and mustard.
Rub-a-Dub Grub
Second time coming along to Miss Kay's, and again it did not disappoint. The first time around I couldn't go past the Mac Daddy (burger with Mac+cheese, beef patty and sweet BBQ sauce, amongst other things). It looked amazing and tasted the same, and I had been dreaming of what was between those buns ever since. Second go around I got the MK Special, which was equally if not more delish. The dirty fries are the perfect side, and by the end you are well and truly full. Had a mate try the Miss Kay's Challenge, a huge guy with an even bigger appetite, and didn't even get close. Good luck all ye who dare. The place has a cool vibe overall, and the neon red sign really adds to the American burger joint aesthetic. Was served by the same girl who was very friendly and attentive on both occasions. Will frequent this joint, already experiencing serious cravings.

The best burger I have ever eaten in Brisbane, hands down. Highly recommend friendly staff, excellent food. Do yourself a favour and drop in.

Our experience with Miss Kay's was average. Unfortunately it didn't live up to our expectations due to the lack of uniqueness that other burger places have in Brisbane.

Love this place. Great burgers, and at good prices too. Been here twice, I've had the Luda-krisp and the standard American cheeseburger, both were great. Their dessert (vanilla ice cream and Nutella between two choc chip cookies) is amazing. I don't know brand their ice cream is but it's ridiculously good. The chilli fries are worth trying as well. The staff are all really nice and the atmosphere is nice and laid back.

Definitely one of the best burgers I've had in Brisbane. Tried the MK special and it was delicious. Definitely need to go back and try some others. The 'dirty fries' were a bit of a let down. As others have stated, they need to get better chips. But if it's an amazing burger you're after, this is definitely a place to try!

Awesome breakfast and awesome burgers. Breakfast with fried chicken and gravy was good. And cheeseburgers for lunch were delicious. Went back the next day.

Rivals great burgers around Brisbane, had the Mac and cheese burger and it was perfect. Couldn't really fault it, atmosphere great, service good - will be going back!

Worthy to be towards the top of the must do burger joints in and around Brisbane. Tried the cheeseburger and onion rings. The cheeseburger was amazing, soft, juicy and still a little pink in the middle of the Pattie. The onion rings were okay, the seasoning didn't really do it for me.

Burgers were a little above average, chips were meh. Need better chips. Ginger ale came from tap rather than actual bottle but costed as much as a bottle price, meh. Good atmosphere for groups of friends. There's also a 'secret' function room, that's pretty cool. Would probably come back but not in a regular basis.

.I love Miss Kay's, they're my favourite burgers in Brisbane. The soft meat and cheese reminds me of my fav American burger chain "five guys". The MK special is my favourite and the ludakrisp is also fantastic. When we went today, they had thick cut fries instead of their usual shoestring fries, and I actually thought it was a change for the better. There are two things that kept me from giving it the five star rating I honestly think it deserves. The first is that they have Pepsi instead of coke. It's forgivable because they have a full bar anyway. The other thing which I thought was really bizarre, was that we went in at opening time for lunch and they had already run out of icecream sandwiches. I don't know why they couldn't make more, but it was really disappointing considering we were there right when they opened. We had a big group with us and they only had one left so our group missed out on the amazing dessert we had been telling them all about for weeks! That said, the food there is amazing and highly recommend it.

I went here last week with a friend having high expectations and I must say, my friend and I were not let down at all. We arrived at about 12:30-12:45, during lunchtime/peak hour I suppose, the line was not too long, probably about a 3-5 minute wait. The service of the staff are very good, they were friendly and were as efficient as they could be! Apparently, our orders would take about 10-15 minutes. Our orders arrived in about 10 minutes. I ordered the 'OG Burger' and my friend ordered the 'Cheesburger', we also shared 'Miss Kay fries.' <br/><br/>It was very delicious! The moment I took a bite on the burger, it was juicy, full of flavour and the bun was quite soft. The fries were also very impressive, the fries have a rich, strong aromatic-herb like smell, however, its very soft-slightly crispy but has a gentle flavour.<br/><br/>The atmosphere was great too, with amazing interiors!

I enjoyed the burgers, chicken wings & ice cream sandwich. The burger was a good size, very filling. My burger had Mac & Cheese and fries in it, and I loved it. It wasn't too oily nor messy to eat. Wings weren't too oily nor were they dry. Ice Cream was huge a bit hard but didn't stop me from eating it. The service was friendly and quick. I definitely recommend this place.

Moving on to the real reason for being here, the burgers. I couldn’t decide which one I wanted, so went with the basic Cheeseburger; one beef patty, double American cheese, pickles, onion, ketchup, mustard, Miss Kay’s sauce. I had heard talk of the burgers being small, but I found it quite adequate for my tastes, if you want it larger then add an extra patty. It was very similar in flavour to a McDonalds cheeseburger, but think of that cheeseburger maxxed out with flavours, a seasoned and moist (still slightly pink) beef patty, a delightful shiny soft bun and more cheesy goodness.

The cheeseburger is pretty good. It's tasty and a good size for lunch and about the right price. I've had it a few times now and I'm pretty happy with it. The chips are always average - on the cold side seasoning is "meh". The place is always heaving. Some people like that but I find it a bit noisy. It's usually possible to get a seat and the queue at the counter looks formidable but moves quickly. I do like the slightly old school music bent but the speaker on the pavement seems angled to be right in my ear every time.

Broke my rule of trying the most basic burger, was hard to go past the one with maple bacon as standard, but if the most basic one is good being a solid indicator of quality is true, so should the filthiest one right?<br/><br/>The best thing I can say about this is I would happily have eaten another right then and there, and it's not a small burger.<br/><br/>Absolute quality from start to finish, the last bite genuinely saddened me.<br/><br/>Should have gotten the cheese fries. Dammit.

Ordered a MK special with some original wings and chips.<br/>- Chips were ok. Nothing special.<br/>- Wings. Nothing special. <br/>- Burger was good but glad I didn't line up like the rest.  My burger was quite dry and certain parts of the burger was more salty than others.  Not balanced.  The batter on the onion was very oily and bad. Bad day in the kitchen maybe?<br/><br/>Might try again but...<br/><br/>Overhyped.  Sorry Miss Kay.... back to Miel.

I originally went to miss Kay's for dinner before a long closing shift on Friday afternoon.<br/>I ordered the double cheeseburger, fries and a pepsi. I thought the post mix in a take away cup suited the vibe they had going. The food arrived under 15 minutes.<br/>Fries were hot and crispy but the seasoning was too spicy and without sauce were plain. The burger was great. Exactly what you expect from an american style place. The rich umami of the meat patties slashed through the acidity of the mustard and tomato sauce. Cheese was dripping off this bad boy. My only suggestion would be to finely dice the onion as opposed to slicing it.<br/>Pretty solid and compared to Ben's (little) burgers in the Valley it dominated.<br/>It definetly got me through my shift.<br/><br/>HOWEVER... I returned recently for a date night with my partner before he goes away for work. We sat upstairs which was actually a very nice space to be in from 6-7pm, until the loud business "Bro's" knocked off work and began congregating upstairs. Top tip; expect them and just deal with it.<br/>Foodie Adam on IG had promoted the ludakrisp burger and other friends spoke well of it so I ordered that as I trusted the hype. It arrived within 15 minutes. However I was disapointed to find some aspect (I guess the bun or slaw) was sickly sweet. The fried chicken smelt like fish and had no flavour. It also seemed barren of mayonnaise. It just missed the mark for me.<br/>After that we treated ourselves to an ice cream sandwich eat. I found $9 was a bit rich in price and in flavour. They arrived rock solid. Frozen so not prepared fresh. However we did get to watch Back to the future while we waited. Once they'd slightly defrosted we got to it. I didn't like the biscuits used as they were too heavy on sugar and butter. The choc chips in them were not so much gooey but were so hard that they just assulted my teeth. The nutella was nice but for the price there was just too little of it. Ice cream was good; the flecks of vanilla through it looked and tasted great.<br/>However I did not enjoy finding a hair in the last bite as I was mid swallow... that made me feel pretty sick.<br/>For that I won't be back, I will sadly miss your cheeseburgers.

This place is the ultimate example of passersby thinking a place is good because there's a line out the front - basically the process we went through - and then we realised it was actually the inefficiency of the kitchen in getting what are pretty basic burgers out the door in reasonable time. Had the Mac Daddy and I picked out the macaroni from the burger, they were cold and tasteless. The burger itself was simply basic, the sauce was bland. The fries were ok. And for the price it certainly was not worth it. This place is undeserving of the hype. At least get the burgers out the kitchen faster - every other premium burger joint out there is doing it - and they are producing better burgers to boot!

Delish!. Great burgers & Dirty Fries. The Cosmo jartini was good too.

For a town where it feels like there is a new burger joint opening up every 10 minutes, Miss Kays hands down wins the burger completion. Great prices & the best burgers in town.

Weekend for the vibe. Walked pass here on a weekend....it was full of people. so decided to come byy on a weekday for the burger and chips. <br/>love it. i had the MK burger, love the sauce and bacon.

Meh.. Good vibe, live music was good. Nothing special about the burgers tho. We had the MK Special, the Mac Daddy and the Dirty Fries. It was okay, I thought the beef patties were little under seasoned and the buns were little thick and hard to get through.

Mac Daddy. I had the mac daddy on it's own.<br/>I liked it, the combination of flavours were good, the patty wasn't as good quality I was expecting as i'd heard great reviews.<br/>It would make great hangover food,<br/>I liked the restaurant/vibe and the menu looked interesting, i'd come back.<br/>8/10
Quicksilver_024
Poor service. Had to wait over 45 minutes for our order to arrive while I saw people who ordered after us being served. When I asked about it, I was told that they lost the order and were starting it now. Meanwhile There were plenty of other people's orders of the same items going ahead of us. We were offered one soft drink as an apology. I feel that they should have done more.

Great burgers - extras are pricy. I had the MK Special and it was delicious, one of the best burgers I've ever had. The buffalo wings were delicious too, although be warned they were only half wings and some of them were tiny. The dirty fries were the only bum note for me, not enough spice and overpriced at $9. $3.50 for a premix soda in a small take away cup seemed a bit steep too.<br/><br/>Despite those few negatives I recommend Miss Kay's and I look forward to going again, but I might stick to a burger only next time!
Lilly.tichborne
Delicious burgers!. The Mk special is amazzzballs

So delish!!. Worth the lash out! These burgers are too good. Perfect treat to end the week - 0 guilt when it's fresh, cheesy, accompanied with a cider and surrounded by great vibes!!

Delish. Miss Kay's be killing it. Mac daddy is to die for!!!!! Such a chill vibe. Will be back.

Hands down best burgers I've had.. I ordered the MK special and my friend got the cheese burger. They were the bomb! One of the best burgers I've had in a while. And not to mention the onion rings and cheeses fries. This place has nailed it. <br/><br/>Great food, great drinks , great service, great tunes and great atmosphere!!<br/><br/>Definitely need to go back and try the rest of the menu. <br/><br/>Ps during lunch peak period, expect a bit of a line as they are quite popular!

Massive burger lover and stumbled upon Miss Kay's on my walk to work about two weeks ago (when it was disguised as a Pop Up Burger Bar). I've been in a handful of times now and tried the OG Burger, Fried Chicken and MK special (more to try!). Mannnnn they are tastey and fresh! Staff are pleasant and always happy and chirpy. It add to the experience of the meal. Got approached by a staff member to ask feedback about the meal which was awesome, they seemed honestly interested in how good they are or improvements. Was really impressed overall!

I can't stop going back!. I went to this rad joint when it claimed to be a limited time Popup Burger Bar- and have tried every burger since then- as it became Miss Kay's.<br/>I have to say- every burger has been mind blowingly, mouth wateringly phenomenal. <br/>The staff seem to absolutely adore their jobs; as they are always chirpy. Super helpful with recommendations, and cater to gluten frees with a gluten free BUN(not bread).<br/>Next stop...the CHALLENGE!

Best Burger in Brisbane CBD. Haters crying foul over the wait time. Was in on Thursday and tried the MK Special - never has a burger been so worth the wait. Have literally not stopped thinking about its deliciousness ever since.

Fantastic burger joint in the city! Quick, friendly customer service and the food was so satisfying! Decently priced for a new CBD restaurant. Will definitely be coming back!

Felt like a burger today, so off we went to Miss Kay's . Adorned with a cool bookcase, it really is a classy place! The town's newest burger chiefs specialises in 300 day grain fed Angus beef. Choose from the MK Special , which consists of a beef patty, crispy maple bacon, onion rings, American cheese, or the Mac Daddy - a quirky combination of Mac 'n' cheese, fries and a beef patty...

With the trend of American style food and craft beer continuing to explode in Australia with very little end in sight it makes sense that Brisbane's city centre would start to get more of these venues and Miss Kay's is a continuation of that trend. However rather than being on the Riverside where almost every other trendy food place is, Miss Kay's is located at the Casino end of Queen Street mall which puts it in a great spot for a week day lunch for me with it being less than a 10 min walk from work. Having been open just over a week I figured I'd waited long enough before heading down to check it out, it's a nice spot with some out door seating, indoor seating and even a loft area with exposed brick, tiles, wood and a clever use books and book shelves. Upon entering there is a nice diner style vibe to the place with red neon signs, a big long wooden bar and a vibrant and large menu to read from. The menu  has fries, onion rings and even chicken wings but what everyone wants is the burgers and there are some great sounding food here and all fairly decently priced. Burger's range from Cheeseburger's ($10) to a food challenge that consists of a 5 patty burger and a pile of fries for $35 although if you eat it in 15 mins you get a $30 return voucher and a photo on the wall of fame. All week I knew I wanted the Mac Daddy, a burger with beef patty, mac n cheese, fries, bbq sauce, mayonaise and a lettuce leaf but I did also add maple bacon. extreme closeup! The burger was super more-ish and totally smash-able with the mac n cheese gushing out everywhere and fries getting stuck in the cheese, oddly enough the piece of lettuce on it offers up just enough crunch to balance out the creaminess and adding bacon just amps up the meaty goodness and adds some smokey sweetness from the maple. This burger is a meal on it's own, you don't need a side of anything and if you wanted to eat it that way add another patty for an extra $4 and you have a mega burger to keep you full for hou
