Absolutely amazing! The lunch specials are such great value, I'd highly recommend if anyone is closeby. I have tried a few dishes and love the different flavours, particularly the pork belly! My two fav side would be the miso soup and spicy fries. PLUS they stock Asahi Black, which is such a great tasting beer! Everyone I've brought here friends and family all love this place! Such a lovely experience and incredible food!

The omakase set menu was exactly what we wanted and the Karuizawa beer was stupendous. The staff were so friendly and didn't miss a beat bringing us food or beer when we'd run out. It reminded me so much of the yakitori restaurants I used to go to when I lived in Japan. Expect us back SOON!

Fabulous food. Great atmosphere. Great strawberry sake! They were really busy as the Japanese festival was on but managed to give excellent service with a smile. Would definitely recommend and would go back in a heart beat.

Went to this little gem for their $12 lunch special and was not disappointed . Had the Toro Toro Kakuni Don and it was delish, coupled with the bottomless Miso Soup ( though it did take some prompting for refills) which is some of the best Miso in Brisbane - will be back

Loved this place... back at home we don’t have many restaurants that serve yakitori as their main dish. For $35pp we received five yakitoris including a fried rice ball, edamame, chips and salad to share.

Authentic yakitori. Something hard to find here in Brisbane. Definitely the best in town. Try the Lemon Chicken Wings - cooked on charcoal. Also try a Lemon Sour.

One thing I do miss from my trip to Japan (amongst all the other things) was the Yakitori. Having followed my nose down a dark nondescript alleyway in Osaka to find one of the best Yakitoris of my life, I was keen to relive something similar. Having gone to Birds Nest Yakitori a few years earlier when their West End store had newly opened, I was assured of their authenticity and quality, but was taken aback slightly by their price point, so when I heard about the Monday special at their Fortitude Valley store, I knew I had to be there. Having only tried their lunch specials from this branch, I was keen to get some yakitori.

I was blown away by the value and quality of the lunch special here.
The kakuni melted in my mouth, the karaage was tender and juicy. Edamame was $3, Fries $3 and salad $2. Amazing!
The restaurant was welcoming but elegant, service was friendly and quick. I really can not fault anything here.

Ive been traveling to Brisbane once a month for the last three years. I struggle to find good places to eat. I've also been to Japan twice. This place rocks! Second time here and I needed to review. Smashed a heap of skewers. Chicken hearts. Chicken arteries. Chicken oysters. Pork belly. Chicken skin. Brilliant. I even ordered a second round of chicken hearts. I'm a happy man smashing these skewers with my beers

I dined here with a friend on a Sunday night and had a lovely experience. The staff were attentive and friendly. I've been eating vegetarian this month so I was please to see numerous options on he menu. I enjoyed the texture of the tofu and the grilled avocado was simple and satisfying. Was super happy with the happy hour from 6-7pm too!

Food was good- had the $12 chicken skewer lunch special.

Pretty good deal for $14 (incl. the $2 leaf salad add on)- my coworkers thought it was quite pricey though. The skewers were deliciously charcoaled. There was a lot of miso- the rice had good flavour with all the pickles- yum. An enjoyable lunch indeed.

The fit out is really nice- I can't wait to try this place for dinner with some drinks.

I happened to stumble across Bird's Nest Restaurant when we visited Brisbane and recognised that co-owners Emi and Marie were former contestants for The Hotplate and had won the grand final. I had been looking forward coming here. . An open kitchen provides a view of the chef cooking the yakitori skewers.

Great lunch specials - $12! Includes unlimited miso which (as a non-lover of miso) was rather delicious. Skewers were of course A+ great little set-up.

I've just dined in this lovely restaurant last night and it was a blast! I came in at about 6:45pm and was sat down straight in front of the grill area. It was a tiny bit warm but nothing a cold jug of sake can't fix! The waitress looked like they knew what they were doing, very efficient. The menu is a little bit different to the original Bird's Nest in West End, equally as delicious though! Smaller in portion and a tiny bit cheaper. It's definitely not a cheap eat but with the fresh quality of the chicken and side dishes, you pay for what you get. It was also great sitting in front of the grill as the chef was very cheeky! Overall, a great feed and atmosphere. Will come back again most definitely!

Went into Bird's Nest in the Valley after been to the West End few times with a group of friends. I was welcomed warmly by a friendly staff and we sat around the grill where you can watch the chef cook. The menu is a little bit different from West End and the portion size was a bit smaller but cheaper as well. We ordered the fresh oysters (Coffin Bay), spicy fries, oomori karaage (must try! Best Karaage in town!) and few skewers like the thigh with avocado and coriander, pork belly with kimchi mayo and the traditional chicken meat balls with fresh wasabi. We wanted to try something different fromWest End and they did not disappoint us! Everything was so delicious and we were so full afterwards. I don't think bird's nest is supposed to be "cheap eats" as you need to spend around 30 dollars to get full but it's definitely worth the money! These days, you can't get anything for 20 dollars for dinner at any restaurants. Overall, I enjoyed bird's nest Valley very much. Lovely and efficient service and yummy food so I'll definitely be back!!

Have been to the West End restaurant and for me it's their "mothership" or "flagship" store so when I tried their new valley store, I was glad to see they have put a real "valley" twist.

We started with The Coffin bay Oysters with the Yuzu dressing and Salmon Roe...wow!!!
They had less skewer options than west End but their top 15-20 were there or so and then a heap were new and had more of a western twist with one even having Kimchi.
The shop looks amazing, the fit out is totally authentic and stunning! The lighting is dark and very valley and we tried 4 of the dozen or so cocktails hey did with one called dirty geisha which was bliss!

This place is more casual than the West end restaurant, but caters more to a few drinks after dinner and being right in the valley, there is always a. Cool vibe going on.

Met one of the girls from that TV show they won and she said the prize money they won $100,000 went 100% into building the valley fit out and they flew a designer from Tokyo again to get the right look, cool!

Cobbler bar opening across the rod soon too they said, so the area is on the up that's for sure.

Everything we ordered was delicious. Crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside best skewers in the area, or even Brisbane. Chips with kewpie was also tasty whilst the tamagoyaki was soft and sweet.

With a slightly different menu to their West End store, the place in Fortitude Valley is definitely worth stopping at. They run a lunch time special which is $12 and has some great options

Great quality food. They need to be a little more respectful of their customers. We spent over $100 but told to move to another table after just 25 mins of being in the venue. This policy isn't one that will help them long term. Fit out looked half a mill - so be interesting to see if they pick up on this major issue

Booked here for Valentine dinner. Nicely renovated with bigger space as well. Very crowded for the night. Service was reasonable considering the amount of people they need to serve. Food is tasty and well presented. Nice decoration but very noisy for the night so made it difficult to chat. Price is good for the location. Highly recommended!

I was very keen to eat at Bird's Nest for a while now as it was on my list of places to go to. I am happy to say it met all of my expectations of a place that does proper yakitori grill. The grilled Wagyu rice bowl and chicken tail skewers are cooked to perfection. The highlight was definitely the chicken tail skewers for me, you have to order one if you are here. Everything else was great as well and very reasonably priced. The skewers are small servers so you might need to order few and it can get expensive pretty quickly. I definitely recommend you check this restaurant out.

THE BEST yakitori in town for sure! First time dined in after renovation. great table service and staff are so friendly! Everything was so delicious and fresh. Plum wine tasting set goes well with all skewers. Japanese stir fried noodles were my favorite - so rich in flavor! Definitely will come back and highly recommend to everyone!

This was an absolute exquisite experience with the most beautiful food. We ordered and didn’t have to wait long but watching the tables around me receive the most mouth watering food had me salivating with anticipation. My goodness after a short wait and then the most tantalizing, beautiful, magnificent courses came to the table I tried to contain myself but let out a small shriek of glee. This was going to be exceptional and it was in every way from the beautiful food to the fantastic service from Marie ( someone give her a pay rise, what a fantastic human ) . I recommend this place to everyone and take all your tourists and friends impress them with the food from this great establishment.

They have so many kind of Sake list it was impressive! If you want to feel real Japanese mood, you should go this place. Best Japanese skewer restaurant in Brisbane and also sake list is amazing! We had 2 kinds of sake, one cloudy warm sake and plum based sake(choya)that’s my favorite. All of the sake was really nice! They made my night🙂 Vintage Sake was really strong and rich flavors. I’ll definitely order again. Food was really nice. They cook food in open kitchen. we can see them easily. All skewers were so nice it goes well with sake. Tsukune was my best Skewer ever. With egg york, i could feel tender and soft tasty. I’ll definitely go back soon! I highly recommend this restaurant

Great food and drinks, and the highlight was a bespoke cocktail that one of your staff made up for me. With just a couple of questions, he found just the right taste sensation I was looking for.
