Absolutely amazing! The lunch specials are such great value, I'd highly recommend if anyone is closeby. I have tried a few dishes and love the different flavours, particularly the pork belly! My two fav side would be the miso soup and spicy fries. PLUS they stock Asahi Black, which is such a great tasting beer! Everyone I've brought here friends and family all love this place! Such a lovely experience and incredible food!
The omakase set menu was exactly what we wanted and the Karuizawa beer was stupendous. The staff were so friendly and didn't miss a beat bringing us food or beer when we'd run out. It reminded me so much of the yakitori restaurants I used to go to when I lived in Japan. Expect us back SOON!
Favourite restaurant for myself & partner. Been many times over the last few years and have never had a bad experience. Food & service is great. A must try for anyone who likes to try some different items from the menu.
I had lunch here recently and had the salmon with rice and cabbage. It was delicious and fresh.Good value for $15.Loved the bottomless miso soup too.Nice atmosphere and good service.I will be back
Went to this little gem for their $12 lunch special and was not disappointed . Had the Toro Toro Kakuni Don and it was delish, coupled with the bottomless Miso Soup ( though it did take some prompting for refills) which is some of the best Miso in Brisbane - will be back
Loved this place... back at home we don’t have many restaurants that serve yakitori as their main dish. For $35pp we received five yakitoris including a fried rice ball, edamame, chips and salad to share.
Authentic yakitori. Something hard to find here in Brisbane. Definitely the best in town. Try the Lemon Chicken Wings - cooked on charcoal. Also try a Lemon Sour.
One thing I do miss from my trip to Japan (amongst all the other things) was the Yakitori. Having followed my nose down a dark nondescript alleyway in Osaka to find one of the best Yakitoris of my life, I was keen to relive something similar. Having gone to Birds Nest Yakitori a few years earlier when their West End store had newly opened, I was assured of their authenticity and quality, but was taken aback slightly by their price point, so when I heard about the Monday special at their Fortitude Valley store, I knew I had to be there. Having only tried their lunch specials from this branch, I was keen to get some yakitori.
I was blown away by the value and quality of the lunch special here.
The kakuni melted in my mouth, the karaage was tender and juicy. Edamame was $3, Fries $3 and salad $2. Amazing!
The restaurant was welcoming but elegant, service was friendly and quick. I really can not fault anything here.
Ive been traveling to Brisbane once a month for the last three years. I struggle to find good places to eat. I've also been to Japan twice. This place rocks! Second time here and I needed to review. Smashed a heap of skewers. Chicken hearts. Chicken arteries. Chicken oysters. Pork belly. Chicken skin. Brilliant. I even ordered a second round of chicken hearts. I'm a happy man smashing these skewers with my beers
I dined here with a friend on a Sunday night and had a lovely experience. The staff were attentive and friendly. I've been eating vegetarian this month so I was please to see numerous options on he menu. I enjoyed the texture of the tofu and the grilled avocado was simple and satisfying. Was super happy with the happy hour from 6-7pm too!
Food was good- had the $12 chicken skewer lunch special.
Pretty good deal for $14 (incl. the $2 leaf salad add on)- my coworkers thought it was quite pricey though. The skewers were deliciously charcoaled. There was a lot of miso- the rice had good flavour with all the pickles- yum. An enjoyable lunch indeed.
The fit out is really nice- I can't wait to try this place for dinner with some drinks.
Booked here for Valentine dinner. Nicely renovated with bigger space as well. Very crowded for the night. Service was reasonable considering the amount of people they need to serve. Food is tasty and well presented. Nice decoration but very noisy for the night so made it difficult to chat. Price is good for the location. Highly recommended!
I was very keen to eat at Bird's Nest for a while now as it was on my list of places to go to. I am happy to say it met all of my expectations of a place that does proper yakitori grill. The grilled Wagyu rice bowl and chicken tail skewers are cooked to perfection. The highlight was definitely the chicken tail skewers for me, you have to order one if you are here. Everything else was great as well and very reasonably priced. The skewers are small servers so you might need to order few and it can get expensive pretty quickly. I definitely recommend you check this restaurant out.
Fantastic, cosy location with excellent service and yakitori (including vegetarian). Loved everything and highly recommend. And, good sake list with helpful staff on choosing the right one. We had the Kubota which is always a winner.
THE BEST yakitori in town for sure! First time dined in after renovation. great table service and staff are so friendly! Everything was so delicious and fresh. Plum wine tasting set goes well with all skewers. Japanese stir fried noodles were my favorite - so rich in flavor! Definitely will come back and highly recommend to everyone!
Staff are amazing. Food (especially the skewers!!) are amazing … no … out of this world! Great place to visit
This was an absolute exquisite experience with the most beautiful food. We ordered and didn’t have to wait long but watching the tables around me receive the most mouth watering food had me salivating with anticipation. My goodness after a short wait and then the most tantalizing, beautiful, magnificent courses came to the table I tried to contain myself but let out a small shriek of glee. This was going to be exceptional and it was in every way from the beautiful food to the fantastic service from Marie ( someone give her a pay rise, what a fantastic human ) . I recommend this place to everyone and take all your tourists and friends impress them with the food from this great establishment.
They have so many kind of Sake list it was impressive! If you want to feel real Japanese mood, you should go this place. Best Japanese skewer restaurant in Brisbane and also sake list is amazing! We had 2 kinds of sake, one cloudy warm sake and plum based sake(choya)that’s my favorite. All of the sake was really nice! They made my night🙂 Vintage Sake was really strong and rich flavors. I’ll definitely order again. Food was really nice. They cook food in open kitchen. we can see them easily. All skewers were so nice it goes well with sake.
Tsukune was my best Skewer ever. With egg york, i could feel tender and soft tasty. I’ll definitely go back soon!
I highly recommend this restaurant
Great food and drinks, and the highlight was a bespoke cocktail that one of your staff made up for me. With just a couple of questions, he found just the right taste sensation I was looking for.
