Review The Jetty Southbank - Brisbane

Andy Cassidy
Our family of 11 chose The Jetty as a relaxed dining venue to host a double celebration for our 2 children's university graduations. Our experience from booking right through to settling the bill was fantastic. The flexibility of the staff was amazing as we had cake and flowers delivered to venue through the day with no issue. Our host 'Eliza' for the evening was amazing, such friendly and attentive staff. 👏 I highly recommend this versatile restaurant for its great location, excellent staff and delicious array of menu choices. 👌

We really enjoyed our experience at Jetty my Mother was in town visiting the cheese platter, meals and drink all very nice. Slow cooked lamb was beautiful. The waitress was doing her best as every table was booked and staff numbers are limited in the current climate. We will be back for sure we had a great table overlooking the river. Thank you God Bless!!

The staff A+ lovely The food B, I had the pumpkin risotto it wasnt very tasty lacking flavour, I think change the goats cheese to fresh parmesan in my opinion My partner had duck breast he thought it was ok for around $34 We were sitting at a table that was so wide we couldn't hear each other unless we yelled đŸ€Ł not suitable for oldies with hearing loss. Times are tough, staff were probably away with Covid-19 ramping up right now so I dont want to be to tough on any restaurants. Cheers and thanks for welcoming us for many hours with our friends with no pressure to leave our table

Mediocre food, nothing special about it. Food leans towards the salty side I give it a 2 star because of the wait time and the attitude of the waiter. Waited 45 minutes+ for our dishes, when we Follow it up with the waited, no apologies and we got told " it has only been 35 minutes" The female waitress was super nice tho!

The Best single thing about The Jetty (besides the outstandingly amazing meals) is the service.. The Staff were incredible, friendly, accommodating and super easy to get on with.. I almost wanted to invite them all to the table to have a drink ( but that would have left no one to run the restaurant). đŸ€” Bonus points: We left our cake with them after our allowed 2 hours, when for a crazy 40min scooter ride around Brisbane, then returned to perfectly refrigerated desert. 😁 Thankyou to all..

Dined here on a public holiday Monday and, after a busy holiday weekend, some things were missing from the menu. What remained for us was salt and pepper squid and GF/DF corn fritters, as well as some chips on the side. We finished with vegan pannacotta and pavlova, as well as a deliciously dairy Créme Brulée. Apart from the setting, which was semi-indoors opening onto the beautiful Brisbane River, the staff were helpful and the meals well-cooked. Simple food leaves a chef nowhere to hide. So while our dinner was basic, it was basically brilliant. Cooked to perfection, every mouthful was a delight. We couldnt enjoy the missing oysters, slow-cooked lamb-shanks, the pork loin or the mussels, but what remained was perfectly well done. Thanks for making the meals so enjoyable. The kids absolutely loved it.

A beautiful restaurant to have dinner at Souhtbank. The food was expensive but very delicious so it was worth the money. The staff were nice, the service was good and the atmosphere was lovely.

We had a wonderful experience last night, dining at The Jetty with mates, many of whom were affected by the Feb 2022 Floods. The staff were GREAT! Service was excellent, as was the food. Suggestions: add Qld wines to the menu; & your website directions could say "' follow Sidon St left to walk along the river until you spot our flaming torches" so as to help those unfamiliar with Southbank.

absolutely appalled by our experience. Anzac day lunch so they were under staffed, and maitre de was stressed and rude.upon We had literally NO SERVICE. We were left on our own. Also, the calamari portion was ridiculous and looked like the dregs at the bottom of the deep fryer had been thrown onto a plate. I have never seen such a small portion of calamari. What could've been a lovely long lunch (with a rather large drink/food bill) ended up being a bad day. I tried advising the restaurant via email but never got a response. I do not like posting negative reviews.

A great place to enjoy delicious food and drinks, served by very friendly and professional staff. Lovely view across the lawn to the river and the city behind.

Great food, great service and a great outlook! This is the best of the restaurants on the river at Southbank. The staff are very attentive and quick to serve. We didn't have to wait very long before getting our drinks and food. It's not particularly expensive and you get good value for your money. Good choice of food and good atmosphere as it can get quite busy but you don't feel that its overcrowded.

Unfortunately we did not have the great experience we had been expecting. We ordered two Black Angus (one medium rare & one medium), as well as an Entree. The entree arrived in a timely manner however waited well over an hour for our meals, to which were heavily overcooked & consequently tough & dry. We were so hungry at that point we are what we could, and mentioned to the waiter our dissatisfaction. Nothing was done and no one spoke to us about it. Extremely disappointed!

No booking made but immediately we were looked after and had a fantastic chilled lunch. The food, wine and service were spot on. Will return again soon.
Pork Bellies
Ordered grilled prawns abit on the salty side. Plating of pork belly looked great, but the flavor of the pork belly was disappointing. Gnocchi was okay. Portions not big. Food does not match the price.

What a delightful place for a perfect lunch along the river! A view, serenity and great food. I had the calamari and the moreton bay bug sliders and i was left in awe. My fiance had the pork belly and trust me i know pork belly. It was amazing!! The desserts were the icing on the cake to our absolutely delightful day!

I had lunch with a group of family friends at The Jetty on Saturday and really enjoyed my meal. I ordered the Morton Bay bug sliders to share with my partner, the bug was delicious! I had the lamb ragu for a main, my partner had the wagyu burger and my mother in-law had the pork belly. All meals were delicious, although the crackling on the pork belly was a bit chewy but that was expected. Staff were very accommodating of our big number and service was great.
Sarah Garner
Food was exceptional and very fresh. Seafood was cooked perfectly and even the vegetables were tasty and come okef with care. The staff were under a bit of pressure being a bit busy than usual but they handled it with grace and the service was much appreciated.

Had a beautiful lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Everything was just right: the friendly service, the choice of food and wine, the delicious dishes we chose & the good sized portions. Made for sharing, we enjoyed two mains and three lighter meals between three, followed by the cheesecake which was divine, I actually think it’s the most delicious I’ve had. For a relaxing meal in a great location with attentive service and great food I’d highly recommend.

Our group of six arrived for our booking and were shown to a booth towards the back of the restaurant which was much quieter than the rest of the venue. We ordered a round of wines and ordered our meals.<br/>We started with dips and toasted ciabatta, some calamari and olives. We then shared lamb kofta balls, Moreton bay bug rolls, a few vegetable sides , some chicken , oysters and pate. All meals were well presented and we all sampled most of them. Service was a bit erratic but friendly. We ordered another round of drinks - wine, gin and a cocktail. Desserts looked tempting but we were full. Lovely spot with a good range of options on the menu.

Very very yummy, tasty well rounded meal. food service was good and quick. cocktail was amazing and the view was just Devine. Thank you guys We will be back.

You're paying for the view. The scallops could have been cooked better - they should be slightly crisp on the outside and caramelised, and presentation left a bit to be desired. Wilted microherbs adorned the shellfish which was drenched in the miso butter which flowed off the shells and onto the plate. The crab and calamari salad, while tasty, was very shy of crab meat.  The green papaya salad was as bland as a thong. Here's a dish that should be bursting with flavour, and it's really not hard to do. I've made far better myself at home.  The service was ok but not fantastic. Won't be returning.

Superb food and a lovely atmosphere. The wait staff are very attentive and kind. I had the crab pasta, which was very delicious. Great location overlooking the river.
Richard Sterling
A very good location. The service is attentive but not over bearing. The food is pleasant but bland on the most part. Perhaps a lack of inspiration on the chef's behalf. Portions could be bigger for the price. Tables are too small and felt crowded. A good wine list but pricey. Beer list could be upgraded to have more adventurous craft beer.
Jane
Not a great experience. Website states vegan options but when one member of our party asked what the vegan options were, waitress replied that we needed to let them know when booking. Not a great start. Food was ok, but service was very ordinary for a quiet Monday lunch when the restaurant was almost empty.

There’s a certain je ne sais quoi about dining at The Jetty South Bank. Sitting at the front of the restaurant, overlooking the dazzling Brisbane River and watching people walk by, has a slight resemblance to people watching at Jardin des Tuileries, but with food involved. Located in South Bank’s River Quay precinct, The Jetty no doubt occupies a prime spot, offering sweeping views of the river as well as the cityscape. Following its recent renovation, the venue is sleek and open with a private dining area also having been added to the space.

Talk about location! We sipped wine on the river in the dreamy Brisbane weather! The food.... I felt the calamari entree was grossly overpriced $17 and literally got a small serve of calamari (rings) 😒 which yes- were cooked well but nothing special at all. The papaya salad was fresh and tasty, nice addition with crushed peanuts but.... the soft shell crab I ordered with it was again a very small portion for cost and was all batter and no crab. A little disappointing on that front. My husband had the wagyu burger and was rapt. Chips were yummy too. The staff were lovely and accomodating helped us with high chairs etc. Tbh wasn't super sad to have eaten here but would definitely go elsewhere next time. Just ok.

Went to The Jetty for lunch yesterday and had a wondeful time. Our food was and sumptuous, our deserts delicious also. Staff were attentive, knowledgable and cam back throughout to ensure the food was great and asked whether we needed any drinks. The view from the table looking across the river is stunning. Will definitely be coming back again.

Came in for a solo dinner and was thoroughly impressed, the waiters made me feel instantly welcome and seated me straight away.  The tall brunette waiter recommended the calamari for a starter and I must say I was glad he did so, the Asian dressing was a unique twist that I've not tried before and was very pleased with. I chose the grilled reef fish to stick with the seafood theme paired with the Eden Valley Riesling and honestly couldn't find a single fault with either. I didn't have room in my stomach for a dessert but will be back to try the Lindt Bittersweet chocolate fondant! With such great customer service and an amazing view I forgot I was dining by myself, thank you.

I came I for late lunch and I was not disappointed <br/>Great location along the water (with the breeze) to watch the sunset, perfect for walking through the beauty of sounthbank and going into the jetty. The staff were super helpful in recommending food and drinks. I had the veal and it was spot on. I must come back for dinner and watch Brisbane really shine.

Below average food at above average prices.<br/><br/>This place was thoroughly underwhelming. Great location and nice atmosphere but try one of their neighbours. Not awful but definitely not worth the price tag ($100 for two).<br/><br/>Entrée<br/>The grazing plate had some really cheap, processed tasting salami and burnt bread sticks. The rest was okay but uninspiring.<br/><br/>Mains<br/>Bland salads without dressing, burnt sweet potato chips without any sauce and not enough salt for my taste. Table salt had dumb decorative grains the size of my fist so couldn't add more. Lettuce in my burger was still dripping wet from when they washed it and that combined with the oils oozing from the Patty made for a soggy burger that dripped everywhere. Ingredients did taste fresh though, I'll give them that. Fish was okay, but not good enough to make up for the other failings.<br/><br/>Service<br/>They do all the fancy stuff you'd expect but overall not great. Waiter did that thing where they try and memorise the order rather than just write it down. I'll never understand that. He of course then had to come back to clarify details. He also didn't mention a special we noticed on a poster towards the end that directly related to what we ordered.

Feeling a tad let down; indulged in a cocktail, one might assume for the price tag the 'watermelon' would be fresh not watermelon syrup.. Service was a little slow to start, the pork belly i wont complain about but I've had better! mains arrived roughly 2hrs after we arrived which left a foul taste in everyone's mouth, if you want to see the 'hangry' side of your friends this is certainly the place to go! i got lucky with my meal (ordered the Crispy Salmon with Mussels and Risotto) but other meals were bland and overcooked.
M & M
Atmosphere created by the staff members was terrible. No flavour in the food. I ordered the crumbed fish and my boyfriend ordered the chicken which was so dry and also flavourless. <br/><br/>We wouldn't eat here even if we were paid. <br/><br/>NOT worth $100 for two!!
J_cinta
If only the quality of food matched the beautiful ambience and view of this restaurant. Was visiting Brisbane and we thought this looked like a really nice place to eat. However i was very dissatisfied with all my meals except for dessert.<br/><br/>Entrée: i had the crispy squid - it wasn't crispy at all I've had better at a fish & chip shop. The way it was served was very average considering the style of this place.<br/><br/>Main: panko crumbed fish with a mandarin salad. Very dissapointing, I couldn't even finish it. The fish although crumbed quite well and very crispy it was absolutely flavourless! Can't understand why a chef wouldn't season their food, it's actually quite irritating considering how much you have to pay for a meal that tastes like nothing. The mandarin salad was just a pile of dry spinah leaves with some kind of dressing dripped onto it and the mandarins seemed like they were from a can as they were overly sweet in a syrup.<br/><br/>Dessert: Raspberry sortbet. Thank god for this! Homemade rasberry sorbet was absolutely delicious and not to sweet just perfect.<br/><br/>Maybe i ordered the wrong meals not sure..but should there be such a thing as ordering "the wrong thing" ?<br/><br/>Quite rarely do i post a bad review but sometimes i think it's necessary so the management see this and hopefully takes it as constructive criticism only to improve their stunning place.<br/>

Went here for late afternoon drinks and food. Service was very slow. Very hard to get the attention of wait staff. <br/>Very nice views however.
Ruth Woods
Great location and wine list but the food was very disappointing. I had the seared scallop entree and the scallops were not caramelised, the cauliflower purée tasteless, the black garlic paste similarly tasteless, all the components were cold and the largest ingredient was baby spinach. At $21 for three cold scallops, it was seriously lacking. The mains were almost as bad, although my husband enjoyed his steak. Will definitely not be back.

All in all, this place was a big disappointment.<br/>Our group of 12 was looking for a nice restaurant on Southbank and this was the place chosen. We arrived on time and were seated at our table and then left. After 15 - 20 minutes, one of our party went to the bar to ask if we could order some drinks. The barman responded rudely that they were 'busy mate.' Perhaps he felt we were rushing them, but the response made us feel like we were annoying intruders. (How hard would it be to say, "No problem, a waiter will be with you shortly." ?? or "Sorry sir, we're a bit busy, but someone will be with you soon"??<br/>Anyway, after a while we ordered drinks and then mains.<br/>I ordered the black angus eye fillet (rare) with potato pie, asparagus & red wine jus.<br/>While I wasn't timing things, it seemed to take quite a while before we ate.<br/>The steaks were small, mine was medium, not rare 😕, the potato was mash in a small ramican with 2 asparagus spears. It was a small, thoroughly unimpressive meal, for $39 and I was still hungry.<br/>He had the seafood linguini, which was apparently okay, but not great.<br/>We also had a bill shock at the end as the bottles of wine someone ordered turned about to be quite expensive too, in my opinion, and we had 3. (This was our fault of course.)<br/>The location was beautiful, but we won't be returning.

Very disappointed. We had been to The Jetty at South Bank a number of times and had enjoyed our experience, so we decided to book a large group there for my birthday celebrations pumping everyone up with how good this place was. Everything started to go downhill after a very rude phone call (it’s hard to convey the tone used on the phone), they were confirming our booking was still going ahead (which was fine) and then proceeded to tell me they over booked the table and our party of 10 needed to be out within 2 hours of being seated. So most places the 2 hour turnover is normal, but for 12 people to eat in that time, it’s on the kitchen and the waiting staff to have their stuff together. They didn’t. <br/><br/>When we arrived at 6, it wasn’t until 6:30pm until someone came and offered to take our drinks order. One guest had gone up to order a drink and was told to immediately sit back down as they didn’t take over the counter orders and someone would be over soon. Despite the rudeness of that, if that’s how they service drinks, then so be it. The change of view on this policy was interesting when 25 minutes later the same wait staff called across the restaurant to our guest to ‘come pick up his drink’. So table service or no table service? <br/><br/>After this little stunt, we’re noticing that the first hour of our booking is down and we still haven’t eaten. One of the staff decide to tell us that the booking after us had magically cancelled and we could stay there for as long as we like
<br/><br/>At 6:45pm, someone decided to come and take our food order, after a couple of us had gotten up to ask when this was going to occur – bearing in mind people who had arrived after us had received their drinks AND food by this point. It got to 7:45pm and there had been no update on when food would be coming out. I was rudely told, by whom I assume was the manager that ‘the items were on, I needed to be a more patient and it would be out soon’. I don’t know who shat in his breakfast that day, but it wasn’t me. 8:00pm comes and they decide to bring out food. Yes. That’s right TWO HOURS of sitting there, staff stuffing around and we finally have food. There was cutlery missing, staff didn’t offer next round of drinks, they didn’t check in to see how the food was etc. We’d all finished by 8:30, but continued to sit there until someone came out to take dishes away and see if anyone wanted anything else (which was a no because of their crap service! But nonetheless, it’s a common practice of a GOOD restaurant). It was until just after 9:00pm, when we had asked for the bill they had decided to bring it out. <br/><br/>When we made a complaint about the wait time, they rudely told us they had been timing everything. So had we. With the service we had received and seen that night, it wouldn't have surprised us if the staff had walked around with our order 15-20 minutes before putting it through the system. <br/><br/>It went from 2 people signing The Jetty South Banks praises to 10 people who would never return and not recommend it to their vast social network.<br/><br/>Overall:<br/><br/>Service: 0<br/><br/>Atmosphere: 1<br/><br/>Food: very average so a 2<br/><br/>Would I return: NO! I only take my business to companies who deserve it.

Waited nearly half an hour for our bread.. Then our mains came out as we were only half way through our bread. <br/>The food was pretty good.. I don't think I'll rush to go back there again

little bit on the expensive side, but we always end up coming here since its got such lovely interiors and views, the food is always tasty and presented well, recommended to those who don't have any budget :D
Meatballs And Beef Cheeks
Great location and good food. I've been here a couple times and my impressions were that the starters (pork belly, pumpkin & ricotta gnocchi, etc.) and mains (braised wagyu beef cheeks) were quite small, but very tasty.  Fish of the day has been a hit and one one occasion all six members of our party ordered it and they ran out. Would definitely return.

Beautiful view by the river. Service was good - our order was messed up so they gave us two appetizers on the house; didn't expect that at all - had calamari and prawn tacos - delicious! <br/><br/>Had the wagyu beef cheek; tender - wish there was more seasoning. Found myself adding salt to it.

Let me start by saying that my partner and I had a lovely beginning to our evening at Jetty. The entree and mains were fantastic. I would particularly recommend the fish....now a word about dessert. Do not go down that road my friends. Only pain and sadness lies there. I can honestly say that the Creme caramel may have had a long lasting and deeply scaring effect on my life. A gelatinous collection of everything wrong with the ocean.<br/><br/><br/>...our waiter was very friendly.

Wrecked my valentines! Bad service and food was cold and tasted microwaved ! Never again <br/>will I go there or recommend it to anyone ..............

Fine dining by the river, with amazing food! loved the natural oysters , tofu with mushroom, seared scallops, beetroot salad and cauliflower sides. Friends had the tuna steak and calamari which were both really good!
Michele McEachern
We went to the jetty for lunch, I had the lamb with chickpeas, my partner had the beef ragout with pasta, both meals were completely delicious, the lamb was perfectly cooked and was so flavourful - if I had to nitpick I would have liked more tomatoes - I ran out of tomatoes before eating the rest of the dish. The pasta had a hearty, rich flavour and beautiful texture. I had a chocolate fondant dessert. - rich and delicious and perfectly complimented with generous gelato and raspberry coulis. Partner had apple tarte tatin - which he very much enjoyed. Beautiful outlook over river at front and garden at the back.

Nothing beats dinner and drinks at the Jetty at River Quay.  If possible - request a table close to the river and sit and enjoy the mesmerising city views.  With a wonderful and delicious selection of Modern Australian food, this restaurant has always been a winner for me.
TIFFIN Bite Sized
The mussel cooking liquor was under seasoned and not at all garlicky so overall, this perennial favourite was not a highlight. The generous Black Angus Fillet ($39.50) with smoked bacon and fondant potato did a much better job of matching expectations. The beef was cooked as ordered (medium rare), had a good crust from being finished in the pan and it cut like butter.

We've been here a couple of times. Nice restaurant and it's fairly priced with a stunning view. They make a nice French martini. Look forward to going again.

Went on a Sunday afternoon. Great venue and good for people watching. Very relaxing, attentive wait staff. Food was excellent and very flavor some. Wife had fish and I had lamb rump with a nice Malbec. Great afternoon. Would recommend to all my friends.

The jetty at Southbank has a wonderful atmosphere, especially if you can book a table towards the front of the restaurant. It is great for people watching and overlooks the water. I have been a Jetty customer for years and am consistently impressed by the quality of their food and service. Friday night I ordered the pork belly entree and a side of fries to have as a main (this is often a tactic of mine here as I want to leave room for dessert). My friend had the beef cheek ragout. Both meals were delicious. We then had dessert. I had the citrus tart and my friend had the tarte Tatin. Again beautiful light desserts, not too sweet. The wine selection is always great here also. I've never had a bad glass of wine.

The setting alone is enough to make you fall in love. When we visited for a progressive dinner as part of the Brisbane Festival we sampled the Black Angus eye fillet with smoked bacon, potato fondant, Swiss brown mushrooms, charred broccoli and Dijon mustard. The eye fillet was cooked medium rare and soft enough you could've sliced it with a butter knife. Beautiful food with a highly sought after riverside view.

This was a great evening, I booked the same day, had fabulous service and tasted amazing food. I highly recommend the prawn tacos and the beef cheek ragout with the pappardelle! Brilliant views of the beautiful Brisbane river..a great spot for any occasion!
Food Nom Nom
This place is nothing too special imo, had a prawn pasta and my partner had a main size of scallops. Scallops were piled on top of on another and was lacking flavour. My pasta was not too bad but I have had better ones out there. We both thought the food was pretty average. Nice place and service was good but that wouldn't entice me to come back.
ThatSeriousGirl
We went to the Jetty after we had dinner at Stokehouse, VGirl and I were wandering up and down South Bank for a while trying to find the perfect place between Acquitaine, Popolo, Cove Bar and Dining and a few other places. We ended up choosing the Jetty because of its wonderful no frills dessert items, they sounded absolutely delicious!
Annie
Do yourself a favour - do not go! Sure the setting is amazing ...but honestly the food was such poor quality that the view couldn't make up for it. Tough lamb , tart overpowering sauce with  the calamari , weird flavour combinations with pork , fried pineapple and raw cucumber ???? Sorry it was a fail ,.... and so disappointing when we had been there 3 months ago for lunch and had enjoyed it.If I could rate it a 0 I would have ps.. The waiter was nice and tried hard.
Holly
This was the most amazing place to eat and enjoy my beautiful friends company. The place was busy but it wasn't too loud to have a decent conversation. The food was absolutely Devine and very reasonably priced. The view was amazingly beautiful but that wasn't even the best part. The service was incredible. They were on top of filling up our water, they were super friendly and professional and made the night super care free. I absolutely loved my experience there.<br/>I highly rate this place.
Cabsavie
Jetty is is a great spot, the outlook is lovely, the ambiance is nice, our waiter was great, the wine list is expensive and uninspiring, and the food  is pricey (but if it had been good, reasonable).  The  menu reads really well, I was so looking forward to a great experience.  Alas, it was not to be frankly the food was dreadful.  We have such fabulous fresh produce in this country, such a shame the produce was not treated with the respect it deserved. Apparently pork is a red meat. That is how it was served, I sent it back, the embarrassed waiter returned from the kitchen to advise that the 'chef' could not cook the pork any more.  when we left the restaurant manager actually transacted our bill WHILE he was on a telephone call, sums it up really, lack of attention to detail and a couldn't care less attitude.<br/><br/>Do yourself a favour, avoid this place and go somewhere else.  There are much better options around.
Ian S Jones
Nice food, good atmosphere, realisable prices, great setting, service could be quicker.
Bronwen.gilder
Not Impressed. Extremely slow service, waited ages for first drinks, and then had to ask each time to be served again. Waiter was polite and helpful, but obviously not enough of them. Had to ask for the bill twice, and when it came there was an extra bottle of wine on it for $42. It was only that we were all paying separately that we noticed. I can imagine if someone had been footing the bill on a credit card, it wouldn't have been noticed. Good reason to check every bill you are given. Won't be going back.
Nat_wissa
Not impressed.. After looking at the menu I decided to book a table of ten for my birthday at the Jetty. When I called up to book the person I spoke to was a little rude and even when I called to confirm (that didn't really bother me though). <br/><br/>When the first few guests and I arrived we were seated at a table and ignored for at least fifteen minutes before I had to wave down a waiter to get a drinks menu. Same with the food menu shortly after. There was no customer service at all. <br/><br/>After we FINALLY ordered (1hr 15mins after being seated) it took ONE HOUR For our meals to be brought out and might I just add they were not happy that I POLITELY asked how much longer to food would take (after waiting 45mins). Eventually we got our meals but still weren't sure why so late, but at least they kind of apologized? <br/><br/>They didn't even ask us how our evening was or give us a discount for waiting so long or anything. <br/><br/>The food was nice but honestly I would never go there again based on their lack of customer service. (I work in customer service too so I know the standard)
Sarah Rose
The entrees are incredibly delicious!! We had the gnocchi, calamari and prawns. Beautiful location and friendly staff too, made our dinning experience very enjoyable. Can't wait to go back!

Sunday Lunch. Lucky we booked as the place was buzzing at 2pm and hardly any space for our large pram. Great ambiance, good service and very tasty but pricey meals. The steamed oysters were very popular. Drink service was a bit slow at times and if we wouldn't have asked for the 2nd bottle of wine probably nobody would have offered it but overall a very enjoyable afternoon.

Yes, yes and yes. Okay. lemmi lay it down. the staff are so nice to you from the moment you sit down, the food is amazingly good. and they even have good music playing! ticks all the boxes. eat here.

Loved It. Dined at The Jetty in South Bank the other day and could not fault it. The staff, service and food were just fantastic. If the other reviews are to be believed then these guys have obviously listened and improved as it was faultless. Keep it up guys. Will definitely be back

Just popped in for a drink and a snack, were treated like royalty. Enjoyed the crusted green olives and the spring rolls. Totally different from anything I have tasted before. <br/>Highly recommend this place, we'll be back!

Poor way to run a business. My fiancée and I wanted an afternoon drink at 4pm on a saturday however when we approached a table we were told by the staff member that the area was being "cleared for dinner". Quite crazy really as we could have been a dinner guest too. Of course there were no "reserved" signs out. So naturally we went next door where they were much more accommodating. We were there for over an hour and all the time the table we wanted at Jetty was vacant. Great way to run a business fools.
Fortheloveoffood
Great atmosphere. We have enjoyed many great nights with friends at The Jetty- it has a great, lively atmosphere and a nice little bar area. The service has always been good and while the menu has some nice options, the food is fairly average. We keep going back as it's always a great night but not as expensive as others.

One of the worst restaurants I've been too. Service was poor, food was overpriced, awful and took ages to come. I had fish and chips, the chips looked like it's been refried over and over again. Couldn't get a waiter/waitress most of the time for the whole night. They also got the bill wrong at the end of the night, we were charged for for food that we never ordered. Worst experience ever. Would never come back again.
Raven17786
Underseasoned and overpriced Springrolls. Went on friday night for dinner. Waitress was nice and pleasant and was served quickly. Ordered Vietnamese springrolls which was with charsiu and prawns, and fish and chips. <br/><br/>Major disappointment was the spring rolls, was not worth the $18 listed. spring rolls were flavorless, and needed some seasoning/dressing/more herbs to pop it up. It tasted like a bunch of veggies(mostly cabbage?) wrapped up in a roll. we were supposed to get char siu but both rolls were prawn and they were also not very tasty. Hard, and small prawn pieces. I have never ever tasted spring rolls like this before. When i spoke to the waitress, she apologized, and that was it. I hope they improve the spring rolls or take it off the menu. I felt cheated. <br/><br/>fish and chips were OK, Really liked the salad that went with the fish and chips had some nuttiness. Chips were nicely done, fish was a bit overcooked.

Awful, Frozen, Overpriced and Rude. Went in for dinner on a busy night expecting great service and fantastic food, but the moment we were greeted by the female host with the clip board we were disappointed, she was rude not only to us but also to a staff member. Once we were seated our night got even worse. Took at least 15 minutes to get water, and the staff were inattentive. For starters we had tempura prawns and they were overcooked and tasted frozen, not only that, but $9 for 2 prawns, just not acceptable. Overall the evening was a major disappointment and so is The Jetty!! Will not be returning and will be passing our terrible experience on to others.

Great location. Good atmosphere. Food was really good and well cooked and presented. Had oysters and salmon for starter which was ok - maybe an option to have cooked oysters too?! the salmon and beef main meals were really good. Much preferred the main meals to the starters <br/><br/>Service was a let down. Felt there was a lack of attention, staff were lovely though.

A nice place with a good view!<br/>My friend and I ate at the Jetty past week and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service. My friend had the pasta with prawns and I had the burger and it was great. The service was good considering it was a busy lunch. <br/>Will be back

Great sevice but such disappointing food. We ordered a few small dishes to share last night between the 4 of us and we're shocked to see the tempura prawns for $9 consisted of 2 small battered prawns on a plate and although the half doz oysters were tasty they were tiny meaning we were paying a lot for not much at all. The calamari was the highlight and really only because there was enough for us all to have a few pieces. I certainly won't be rushing back to dine any time soon.

What's the fuss about Jetty?. I'd heard Jetty had good reviews, but aside from a lovely outlook and nice ambiance, it was a disappointing evening. The service was atrocious - supercilious waitress faking a smile, incredibly long waits for menus, then drinks, then water, then entrees. The tofu was lovely, but the remainder of the food was very average. I won't be back.
Kate
Food was nice however the service was appalling. The staff were ultra rude, unfriendly and unwelcoming. They gave attitude at every simple request from asking for a drink to ordering food. I would not go back to this restaurant or recommend it to anyone.
Brad.johnston
Very ordinary. Attended for dinner in a party of 10. The service was really slow....took over an hour between ordering and receiving meals . Three of the meals were cold and gluggy. They were obviously understaffed but our waiter did his best. Kept apologising for the delays
GW
Awful. Great View. Amateur, dysfunctional service. Below average, overpriced food.... A glumly disappointing embarrassment given our recommendation to overseas guests. Shape up guys, or ship out.
Spanner
Average!. The eye fillet was quite good as were the Vietnamese rolls....The rice desert was bland and boring.. At $78 for a bottle of red I guess you would expect to pay that....Service. I note that some people have bagged the service but was fine..<br/><br/>Its just nothing spectacular and there are better places in Southbank
Nathalie Kenyon
Fantastic service - spent a whole afternoon here drinking wine and snacking our way through the menu - lovely location and staff really attentive and accommodating
Sharon Bennett
My partner and I dined here recently and had a spectacular meal. The market fish and the beef were cooked beautifully, the sides were some of the tastiest we have had. Delicate, refined flavours with stunning presentation. Service could probably be improved upon but was friendly nonetheless. A lovely atmosphere, pretty views, but the food is the real standout here. We will be back.

Very disappointed tonight!! .... Very disappointed tonight!!<br/>Service average, they could have sold us two more glasses of wine but didn't bother to ask. The pork was dry and tasteless, the seafood pasta had 3 tablespoons of oil at the button of the plate. The slaw was the hero dish but bring a side is poor form for a Brisbane eatery<br/>Told the staff about not being too happy but they didn't seem to care<br/>Will never return here- lost a potential regular diner here tonite!

Awful service........ I am regular customer in this area and I decided to have something different for my son’s birthday family dinner. So, we went to The Jetty on Sunday. Unfortunately It was a BIG mistake. Menu, wine prices were reasonable, but you expect also good service which unfortunately was absolutely awful. You can wait for ages to get staff attention. Everything was wrong and slow...... empty glasses/ bottles were on the table until you ask staff to clean it, entre arrived and was chucked on tiny clean spot on the table.....staff was asked numbers of time to bring wine, dessert menu, clean the table, bring water.... they brought one dessert and forgot about another because no one even made attempt to start making it. ........ then they apologised ...... but I don’t need their apologies, I need normal service for the money we paid that night. It was disappointing. I would not recommend The Jetty to my friends and will never come back. <br/>Message to the restaurant management: PLEASE improve your service if you want your business to be profitable
Princeseb84
Disappointing. We are regulars in the area for dinner, I he'd heard the jetty was good so we decided to give it a go. Well I wished we hadn't. We waited at the bar for a table watching tables become available and still were not seated until we asked. We asked twice for water which never came. Out starter was soggy so we sent it back. We ordered wine that never came. Our meals arrived and were average, too expensive for what they were. Again we asked for water that didn't come. We were offered a desert on the house but after all that we just wanted to go. The service was quite bad the whole time, there was a young waiter that was pleasant but the rest were unhelpful and somewhat rude. :(

Great location. Service good for a busy Friday night. Food was good but lacked a bit of panache. Would go back

Husband and I dined on Saturday night. Great atmosphere and view, beautiful food and attentive service. Nice selection of wines and menu seemed to have something for everyone. Reasonably priced for food quality and location. I ate from the lighter option choices on the menu, but there was still plenty of food. Best dish was the sticky rice dessert.
Natalie Portmenteau
All good. I'm pretty puzzled at some of the negative reviews here. My experience at the Jetty on a busy Saturday night was just fine. Service was efficient and friendly, the food was tasty and well presented (unlike others, I found the portion sizes perfectly fine) and the atmosphere (and views) were great. I suppose what you could say is that this isn't fine dining - the food is not adventurous and has a bit of an identity crisis (a bit of Italian, a bit of pan-Asian, kind of tapas-y in places) and it's not silver service. I could also see how on a busy night - eg, Saturday - it would start to be a little frenetic and noisy. These, though, seem minor issues overall. I'd recommend the Jetty.
Epicurean
Simply awful from start to finish. Dined with friends on Ekka Day. The place was not busy. Greeted with a 15% "Holiday surcharge". A good 20-25 minutes before anyone approached us to offer assistance. The wine we chose was at first "not available", and then miraculously appeared after an extraordinary wait. The waiter seemed thereafter seemed intent on keeping our glasses full to ensure we ordered another bottle. There was not a wine on the list under $40, and the prices being charged were typically 3 times full retail - Scandalous! We eventually were offered the opportunity to order. We wisely decided against entrees, since the meals took some 45 minutes to arrive, preceded by an "apology" for the wait in the form of deep fried crumbed olives. We would rather have simply had our meals delivered in half the time, and we had consumed 4 bottles of wine between 6 diners in the interval. I guess that's their ploy. My fillet was microscopic, and served with mashed potato. You had to pay - dearly - for other sides. We all left uniformly extremely disappointed with the experience, and will never return.

Another ordinary mid-range Brisbane restaurant. The setting is good and the service was cheerful but the food does not rise above mediocre for the price. At least it reminds us why we travel to Europe as often as possible!
Jeannie Oweczkin
Food was overly quite nice n lovely, prices were extremely high priced considering what we got. Service extremely lacking and unfortunately all due to one waiter..... <br/>Very sad

Excellent Service, Fab Food. Last we tried The Jetty South Bank, having been many times to the one in Oxford St the bar was placed high. The views of the city and the location were wonderful, Brisbane is so pretty at night. <br/><br/>After discovering that they didn't have two wines we were after and even problems finding clean glasses (all in the dishwasher), the waiter spent considerable time with us trying to find the right wine. Many wine tastings later we found one! The service really was brilliant thanks to our waiter. <br/><br/>We started with the Edamame Beans (yum) and I had the hoisin prawn rice noodles which was to die for. More expensive than the Jetty at Bulimba but still an excellent evening and I would return there.

Will be back. After reading reviews here, I was more than apprehensive about spending money to be treated in a substandard way. As soon as we got here, we were greeted and invited to sit at the bar while waiting for our friends to arrive. We were all late and they did not mind. They had a good knowledge of the wines, ALL the staff were nice and attentive even though some of the party were an hour late (embarrassing). The food was excellent - I had the fish and chips, my partner had the pork and both were delicious and very large portions. The whole way through the staff were funny and did a fantastic job. This coupled with the pretty view will ensure I have many more nights here

Mixed Impressions. This place should be so good. Great looking restaurant with views across the river towards the city. Unfortunately, the food just doesn't match the outlook. Some of our table's meals were great - the pork fillet being tender and moist. However, those who had the steak found it dry, not very tender and pretty tasteless. The fish curry was delicious, but the size of an entree and not worthy of the main course price. The rice was also missing and the staff were disinterested in fixing the oversight. Overall, great location, nice atmosphere, but the food lets it down.
Erin Pidcock
AH-MAZING!!! We arrived a late and were still greeted with a smile and the ability to accommodate us without any hassles. Service throughout was incredible, only to be outdone by the food!! Shared multiple starters, including the softest most incredible calamari I have ever had!! Would recommend to anyone. Oh and defiantly have a cocktail or two!!

Food needs to improve. It could be fabulous. The perfect location with a great view and good service but it's let down by the food, which is only of pub standard and simply not good enough for a restaurant with its supposed reputation and pricing.

Fantastic!. Visited the Jetty for a romantic dinner and was absolutely amazed by the service and food. The staff were both friendly and professional and seemed to actually care about our experience at The Jetty South Bank. The food was superb! We had entrées, mains and desserts and all were reasonably priced, delicious, and served within a perfect time frame. The atmosphere makes you feel like you are at a resort, with a beautiful outlook over Brisbane river and the CBD. The food menu has a wide selection, the wine list is extensive, and the cocktails are to die for. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to both locals and tourists.

Poor Service. We went there Easter Saturday in a party of 8. Were put at a very table that was too small for 8 people even although we booked over 2 weeks ago. Waited 20 minutes for a waiter to bring menus, and another 15 for them to bring water and take orders - we had asked for tap water but were served still - when we asked about this we were told that was what we ordered. It took another 40 minutes to get our meals, my husband and I had steak, I do have mine rare but the plate was covered in blood so the meat had not been rested which in a place of supposed fine dinning was not good enough. No one on our table were terribly impressed with the meal and it was very over priced. We have been to the Jetty on Oxford Street a number of times and it has always been excellent, but we will never return to the one at the Southbank .again.

Good food, good service... Travelled from the Gold Coast didn't enjoy the crunchy overdone Kirkpatrick oysters, but the chicken and smoked bacon main was top class.<br/>Worth a second visit. Overall 6.5/10

2nd visit. After visiting the Jetty a year ago I was anticpating another lovely weekend lunch. Still a buzzing atmosphere and the same friendly and efficient service however a different experience with the food. Im no expert but I found everthing to be a little too precious. Portions weren't generous and although the presentation was dazzling, the flavour didn't come through to match. Two of my friends waited enough time for their meals for my husband and I to be half finished. I would definately return again hoping it was just an off day in the kitchen.
Donna
Great food and service. Booked for lunch -had to change time at last minute-staff were more than accommodating. Food and service were great. Great ambience - even though it was a wet day in Brisbane. Our interstate visitor was more than impressed. Definitely a return to restaurant -Well done guys

Great Service. Nice going to a restaurant where the staff have a sense of humor, and know how to do their job with smile.<br/>Our waiter Steven, was just lovely. He gave great food and wine recomendations, as well as just being really attentive to the small things.<br/>It was my husbands birthday and he picked that up from myself, and took the initiative when we orderd desert to get the chefs to write on the desert and had a candle and everything. It was just so nice. <br/>We will definitely be back.

Recently had dinner with friends at The Jetty southbank. Very impressed with everything. Staff were friendly and attentive. Food was great (friends commented that the barramundi is a definite must) All around impressed; great team you guys have down there, keep it up!

Great lunch spot. We went to The Jetty for my mum's 70th birthday and had a great time. The location is fantastic and the service was great. <br/><br/>I had a crispy skin barramundi with vegies and my partner had a burger, my meal was fantastic and I really enjoyed it. The portions aren't huge but it's fine dining so it's to be expected I think. Next time I may get a starter as well. <br/><br/>We all loved our meals, the staff were great and the location is excellent. I would definitely go back again for another weekend lunch. <br/><br/>For more reviews and stories from around Brisbane check out my blog: littlegreybox.net

Great location, food just ok. We went on a Saturday lunchtime with a group of 7 people. The service was pretty good and the food was tasty but the big let down was that it was cold when it arrived.<br/><br/>I had the pork belly, this was thin strips of crispy pork covered with an Asian salad. the meat was tasty but luke warm (it may well have meant to have been this way) and dry especially with the salad, which did not come with a dressing. I then had the risotto, which tasted lovely but again, cold and the rice was a little undercookked. I'm not afraid to send food back but we were a group and i really could not wait another 20 minutes or so for my food to be cooked again; my friend's risotto was also cold. I do not believe that any restaurant should have an excuse for sending food out cold especially a risotto, which should be served immediately.<br/><br/>My husband started with the smoke salmon, which looked beautiful but he said lacked flavour, and the fish a chips which he was totally underwhelmed with as the filets were dry. He was not impressed.<br/><br/>We might try the place again, given the more positive reviews and comments from the group, who had been before, but the restaurant really need to pick up its game in this competitive strip of South Bank.

I recommend the pork belly entree and the barra as a main. Yum!!! Can't wait to go back.

A fabulous evening. I recently visited The Jetty and had an amazing evening. The food and the service was excelent. The menu was short but with a great selection of food that was served to a very high standard and quality. The staff were friendly and keen to help with what ever was wanted. I will definitly be returning for another great night. Please experiance this for yourselves even if it is just for a refreshing cocktail.

Had dinner there last night. Beautiful place, nice food, but service was horrible!!!! Three different waiters looked after out table and they were so disorganized. We needed to ask for water and our drinks numerous times. It took 45 min for an apple juice to arrive at our table. Waiters were approaching our table with wrong orders and when told that it wasn't our order one of them was very rude, as if it was our fault he didn't know what table he was suppose to go to. At the end all this random drinks and food were added to our bill! I love The Jetty in Bulimba, but this one is disappointing.

Delightful Sunday evening meal. Wanted to take international visitors to a decent restaurant in Brisbane, found it hard to locate a good meal on a Sunday evening in Brisbane. We thought the view of the river and city lights would add to the charm. The Jetty was a lovely venue and the river presents beautifully to the night city lights. We had a booking for 7pm and were swiftly seated and offered a drinks menu. We chose sparkling water while we reviewed the food and wine menus, but it did not arrive. A waitress arrived, was pleasant, well informed about the menu and the wines and promptly served the water and was attentive for the bulk of the evening. A new wait staff materialised after mains and was best described as 'curt'. The meals were excellent with the group trying the Yellowtail, Barramundi, Spatchcok and vegetable dishes. The oysters, whilst fresh, were teeny weeny and a half dozen seemed a ho hum choice. Deserts were good, but the 'single cheese' was hardly worth the price or the effort. The pear tarte tartin was divine. An expensive meal exceeding $100+ per person + wines, but overall an enjoyable venue and well cooked meals.
Foodnddrink
If only it was better. For a venue with such a gift for location you would think more time and care would be taken into consideration about the service. The service was utterly hopeless and this shows poor management. If only they knew with a bit more care they could be the talk of the town but instead they are a utter disappointment. Food was nice but small and expensive.
Brendan Clarke
The servers were attentive, having water poured as soon as we sat. 2 cocktails were ordered, again nice and swift. We shared an entree of leek and goats cheese tart, pretty good. I had the spatchcock the wife barrimundi, both quite good. Price $140 with 2 glasses of wine

Lunch at Jetty's - Southbank. We were very lucky to have a well situated table with a great view. Loved the decor. Top marks to the male waiter who attended to us. Top marks to the chef. Service depreciated when left with female staff. Otherwise, a wonderful lunch.

Fabulous. We recently went to Jetty Southbank for dinner. It was our first night out since having a baby 6 weeks ago. The food was fabulous the service was fantastic and the view was gorgeous. We had a great night out and would thoroughly recommend every aspect of our dining experience!
Disappointed
Waited over an hour to be served. Brought out several other tables with same menu items before us. Not good value.
Marcusmbm
Disappointed. Shocking service- waited 1.5hrs for our table last night. (eventually seated at 9:30pm) Would have left to go somewhere else but the chance of getting a table eslewhere when there was 8 of us was slim. We were told the party at the table "didn't want to leave" although they were told people were waiting for the table and booked an early table on the understanding they had to vacate it by 8pm. Staff seemed clueless about what to do except give us more free drinks which isn't why we were there!! Lucky we weren't that hungry by the time our meals arrived as they are small and expensive. A pity as the location was great and the food was nice but overall would not recommend it as there are plenty of better places to spend your money.
MB
Service was good and fast. The price was perhaps a bit too high for what you got. The food after all was good
Dan
Jetty dinner. Trying to impress some interstate visitors we took them to the jetty..food was average. Staff had no idea re wines and service was a shocker..would only reluctantly return.
Regular Diner
Disappointing. I suggested this restaurant for a Sunday lunch and wished I hadn't. Although I booked a week in advance, we were seated in the back corner of the restaurant in possibly the worst table in the place. The portions are very small and when you pay $34 for a steak you don't really expect to have to order your sides on top of that. When we ordered desserts and coffees we expected that the coffees would be served last, but by the time the desserts arrived we felt like another coffee. Two of our desserts didn't arrive until the table had been cleared of the other dessert plates and when we tried to cancel we were told that we wouldn't be charged for them, although they did try and charge us for one. The two desserts that arrived late were nice but quite different to the same dessert that had arrived with the earlier ones. Generally a bad experience with a high price tag, although, as we discussed on the way home if we had had a great dining experience we wouldn't have been so upset about the price. I have been a regular at the Bulimba Jetty and was expecting a similar experience. Very disappointing experience.
Fiona
I don't know where some of the negative comments come from about this place as we had a great lunch experience. The oysters where beauitful & fresh, stuffed olives a definite winner, the mains are on the smaller side but big on flavour I suggest order I side of salad for those with a bigger appetite. Pork loin was fantastic & the steak was perfectly cooked. Service was great & the staff really new their stuff definitely be back.
Alf Burmeister
Friendly and fast service. Food is average. There is nothing special and food is not satisfactorily tasty. Does not warrant a return.

Jetty is AMAZING! No questions asked. Could not give it a better rave! Very impressed with everything, the view is to die for and the restaurant itself is so beautiful it's hard to focus on the menu! They have a great modern Australian menu I chose the pan fried barramundi which was melt in your mouth delicious! I actually rate this the best fish I've had in a long time!! My friend had the pork which was also perfecto! We shared the walnut and pear salad - was simple yet very satisfying. I was amazed to see people had complained about service not being up to scratch...my friend and I could not stop commenting on how great the service was! Super friendly staff who were always attending to us. When we ordered dessert they even put a sparkler in my friend’s pudding which made it that extra bit special. Dessert was also to die for! I highly recommend jetty and I will definitely be back here again!

Repeat offender. I returned to the Jetty with some lady friends for a weekend lunch. A new menu to last time I was here. Definitely need to check it out! We were very well looked after, great recommendations, great drinks - we had to sample a few cocktails! Loved the atmosphere, the food and the staff. When can I go back???<br/><br/><br/>-----08 Sep, 2012-----<br/><br/>Loves it!. When arriving at the Jetty I was pleasantly surprised with the beautiful layout and ambience of the restaurant. <br/>We were very welcomed by the staff and shown to my seat with two other girlfriends.<br/>After having our first drinks we had struggled to order because the view was amazing and we were too distracted! But the menu was nothing short of delicious and it was easy for all of us to choose something, with the honest advice from our waitress also. <br/>For entrees we shared the Gin Cured Ocean Trout, Pork belly and Tiger prawns....YUM! Everything so tasty and fresh, I will be coming back for those prawns and chilli jam!<br/>For mains I had the Baramundi and my girlfriends had the Pork Loin and the Sirloin. I had a little food envy when I saw the Duck Fat Potatos that were served with the sirloin. This dish looked delicious. However I was so impressed with the fish and it's accompaniments. Roast pumpkin was very unsuspecting but a perfect flavour with the citrus, butter sauce and green beans but the baramundi was melt-in-your-mouth material. We also shared a Rocket Pear and Walnut salad. <br/>Our waitress was very attentive throughout the dinner, never failing to top up our wine and water glasses, always checking to see how we found all the food. We felt very welcomed and got the vibe that staff are very friendly and happy here. There was definitely room for dessert so I had the Lemon Tart and my friends shared the Lindt Chocolate pudding. We couldn't decide who's was better! Compliments on the desserts also and we would have liked to order all of them.<br/>All in all a very happy visit to the Jetty and will definitely be returning for the food and friendly staff.

WOW. Ambience - fantastic<br/>Service - Outstanding<br/>Loved the choices on the menu .<br/>Looking forward to a Sunday afternoon with a crisp Pinot Grigio and a selection of entrees.<br/>I think this is one of my favourite .

Once again I visit the jetty sbank , I visit brisbane frequently and always enjoy the great service and the great food and wine on offer , keep up the good work , extremely refreshing .
Leslie
Service over beauty please. The waiters seemed very knowledgable and attentive, the waitresses on the other hand I have a feeling weren't hired for their skills.<br/>Food was great, view of the river was amazing but service was a bit of a let-down due to the airhead waitresses.
Fiona
Disappointing service at The Jetty. As a local I had been looking forward to trying The Jetty - it always looked very inviting when walking past. Turns out it was a bit of a tourist trap! We were seated at the back of the restaurant which was fine as we booked last minute. However once seated no one came to take our drink or meal orders for over 15 minutes, despite us trying to get the attention of many waiters passing by our table. It was very quiet when we first arrived so we expected staff to be much more attentive instead of being completely oblivious to our attempts to place orders. Trying to order extra drinks throughout the meal or receive any sort of service was close to impossible. Even requesting the bill proved to be an exhausting ordeal. The description on The Jetty website likens the restaurant experience to a lazy Balinese holiday - our experience could not have been further from it - the service was absolutely shocking. The decent food and pleasant setting were redeeming qualities. However overall I was really disappointed and will not be going back.

The hostess with clipboard went to see if they had a table and never returned. A charming waiter came to check on us and led us to a table and another charming gent that looked after us all afternoon.<br/>It became busier as the afternoon progressed- our waiter was attentive, patient and friendly.<br/>The prices and wine list are reasonable.<br/>The menu while not extensive has something for most- with a few exceptions...such as no Gluten Free options. Our meals were delicious, generous portions and well presented.<br/>The burgers and pizzas were well received and enjoyed.<br/>My pork was very good, although instead of pork belly as listed on the menu- I was served pork fillet. Again, very good bug not what was described on the menu. <br/>I didn't complain bug I do believe that as a courtesy it should've been explained.<br/>Desserts were limited and the brûlée not available which we were told when we tried to order it. The coffee isnt good.<br/>The ambience, outlook, our charming waiter and the company made it a memorable lunch.

Fantastic food. Had a lovely evening here, the food was incredible, the desserts even better and the views were lovely. Service wasn't great, the waiter seemed like he was in a rush but no complaints about the food at all. Would go back.
Rebekah
Nothing special. The food was poorly balanced and a bit bland at best. The scallop entree was really delicious but could do without the drowning of salsa. Spatchcock main very tasty but accompaniment poorly executed again. Service very casual but don't expect much.
Callum
Reservation... or not?. Had a reservation for 7:30 on a Thursday night, we arrived at 7:32 (network time) and were informed that it would be a 15-20 minute wait for our table. I have NEVER encountered this at ANY restaurant before, and was absolutely appalled. So instead dined at 'The Point' just up the road on Little Stanley St, delicious, attentive staff and we were seated IMMEDIATELY. <br/><br/>I'm sure that the Jetty is lovely... but that kind of service for a reservation was, for us, unacceptable.
Jane
Lovely location. Terrible food & service. Wouldn't go back

Excellent Evening. I went to The Jetty with my sisters and cousins last night for dinner and had to write this today to say thank you to our waiter. I have been there on several occassions and have always had the pleasure of being served by one waiter. I wish I knew his name but he is very tall and has a lovely smile. His friendly demeanour and attitude is unwavering and he always goes out of his way to make sure we feel like nothing is too much trouble. I am sure he was more than confused with all our ordering as we were all sharing everything...even our cocktails but he went to the trouble of bringing out the cocktails plus two empty glasses with a garnish in them so we could share properly. Our water glasses were never empty and he was always checking if we needed anything. The new menu was just lovely. The pork belly, confit duck leg and potato gnocchi were stand outs. Just beautiful. It was a very rainy and cool night out in Brissy but our dinner at The Jetty was warm and cosy and extremely memorable. Looking forward to going back soon.
Bella
Lovely views... shame about the rest. Our evening went from bad to worse. The table we had booked a month in advance turned out to be a horridly wide and high table with bar stools. We asked if we could sit at a normal table so we could actually speak to each other across the table and then the wait began. <br/><br/>After an hour we were seated outside and did have admittedly very lovely views however the bench seating was very uncomfortable and one of our party had a back injury so we begged to have a table with chairs. They brought the starters out before they moved us and I have to say, we were all impressed with these - Pork Belly, Salt & Pepper Calamari, Gnocchi and the tart. All very very tasty. The downfall was the service. Our bottle of Veuve vanished (this really bugs me at restaurants!) and this would have been fine if the waiter bothered to top up our glasses! After we queried why we weren't getting any more top ups we were told we had drunk it all! I don't think so! Paying that much for a nice bottle of champagne only to have it vanish when we knew there was some left in the bottle is disgusting!<br/><br/>They finally moved us to a proper table which was very nice of them but the mains were hit and miss. The pasta dish was nice, the pizza and the burger were so so. It was after the mains that things went further downhill. At NO POINT were we asked if we wanted any further drinks - not even water! When we told them about the Veuve the waitress looked at us blankly and then walked off. She did finally ask us if we would like dessert but again, no water refills and no asking if we would like anything else. <br/><br/>We did speak to the Manager as we left and her only response was that "next time" it would be better. I don't think so! The shame was that we were willing to spend money on having a lovely meal with friends and drink more bottles of wine and champagne but the lacklustre mains and the abysmal service made us just want to run for the hills.<br/><br/>Do yourself a favour and bypass this place completely. There are nicer restaurants in Brisbane with much better service!

Great service - good food. Had a Sunday lunch at Jetty with my mother. We were given a lovely seat where we could look out across the water. Unfortuneately, it was a very sunny day and the table was angled to be in the afternoon sun, the wait staff went over and above to move the table just enough so we didn't have to lose our spot but could get out of the sun.<br/>The food was excellent, we had the Pea and speck gnocchi, trout with light salad, stuffed olives and the calamari. Mum's favourite was the calamari, it just fell apart in your mouth. My favourite was the trout.

Lunch time wine and dine. Enjoyed a stop over at the Jetty after a big walk around Brissy. Very nice wine accompanied with a couple of shared entree's and a shared pizza. Very refreshing and motivated us to continue our walking adventure. Staff were very nice and keen to help with selections.
Janine Woolmer
Great service, great food, great spot. Our group had rave reviews for the lamb ragout, the duck leg & the eye fillet. Not a morsel remained on any plate. Our waiter knew the wine list and provided a level of service we were delighted with. Truly a memorable evening.

Great lunch. Good food & excellent service. Menu provides a price range for everyone.

Terrible service Mediocre food<br/>We visited this restaurant with 4 friends and were left sitting at the bar for 45 mins after our table was booked for despite asking twice about being seated. We received no apology or explanation and in fact when the waitress came to get us spoke as if we had chosen to just sit at the bar. On being seated the waiter at our table was rude and arrogant and rushed us. The food came as ordered but was nothing special and was over priced all things considered. We certainly won't be back.

A swing and a miss. We were entertaining overseas family members and wanted a restaurant that showed Brisbane at its best. The day before the reservation we walked by and were able to choose the best table for our guests(the big round table in the front with excellent views of the city). We planned our dinner on a Monday night as not to be too crowded.<br/>We arrived at 7pm for our dinner reservation and noticed our table occupied by some casual drinkers. The staff told us that they would leave soon and shuttled off into the back corner and tried to get us to order drinks! My family members were irate and after three request by myself to ask the hostess to remove the people they finally left(25 minutes later). Once we sat down things moved along smoothly except for no apology for the delay in seating. The food was average at best and at that price very ordinary. Another thing happened when one of our quest had the stem of her wine glass break and the glass chards dropped on her plate and on the table. Our waitress only swept up the glass on the table and expected my quest to eat her meal with glass on the plate! Both of these incidences were totally unexceptable the the food/restaurant business and put a damper on the evening. I emailed the restaurant the next day and got no response. As far as I am concerned I will not be going back and will tell all that I know to avoid the place. You can not rely on good location to be successful and these people are not listening to the customers......this is a recipe for failure!

And then we became invisible. Had lunch at The Jetty today - food was OK but service dropped to nearly non existent after mains were served. Quite disappointing - felt like we had become invisible. Won't rush back - with so many places serving good food to choose from - it is the service that makes or breaks it.

What A Let Down, we couldn't wait for our girls lunch at The Jetty but, unfortunately it was nothing short of aweful. Two ladies ordered the veal which they sent back as it was deep fried to a dark brown rock head slab. The lady who ordered the spatchcock could not eat it as it was not fully cooked. The lady who ordered the pizza ate the topping only as she coul not cut the base and the two of us that ordered the burger had a good giggle at our clumps of fries on our plates, the were all stuck together and if you tried to pick up one the whole clump lifted off the plate! Thank God for wine and the ability to laugh but we will never go back.

Having been to The Jetty at Bulimba a few times I was keen to try the second one at this new location. We initially loved the Bulimba Jetty but grew to dislike the service and the inconsistent quality of the food - which is a shame as the good dining options on Oxford Street are limited. I had lunch here today with friends and it was great. Attentive service, great location and atmosphere, and delicious food. I had Nasi Goreng, but there was plenty on the menu I could have chosen. I'll be back and hope they maintain this high standard.

Slightly Under Cooked. 4 of us dined on a Sunday evening. It's a great venue with beautiful river views and contemporary decor.<br/><br/>The wait staff overall were attentive but a bit aloof. The entrees came out quickly, but the main had a reasonably long delay coming out just in the nick of time.<br/><br/>The meals were pretty good. My medium-rare steak was, by my definition, rare but still mostly edible for me, and my side of rocket was on the verge of drowning in its balsalmic dressing. Partner's steak had a similar problem but his side of green beans were fresh and buttery. Friend's veal schniztel, while served on a fancy board, was a bit pub like, and other friend's spatchcock got good reviews. I must admit, none of the main meal menu items excited me very much.<br/><br/>The beverage list is so extensive that it has a table of contents, however drink service was slow.<br/><br/>For the price of the meals I think what they provided is fair but I'm not sure I would return, as it was just an 'ok' experience.

Great experience our waitress Leena was funny and attentive and the food was great and came out quickly for a Friday night peak service time. Impressed

Wonderful position, gorgeous decor, excellent service. Food was timely, fresh and delicious. Wait staff were friendly and efficient. We will return.

Don't know why people come on to this and spend all their time on writing a bad review about a restaurant, it's a fairly new restaurant let it get in its feet properly and become great, not destroy its chances by poor word of mouth, get a life winges

No go!. Reserved a table to be told we could be squeezed in at 5.30pm only. Check your bill - was overcharged with 3 extra cocktails. Service was very ordinary - all with empty tables around us for the next 2 hours. Not going back - shame as great spot for a soiree!

Enjoyable evening. My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here on the evening of the 24th February. The service was excellent and staff friendly and helpful. Food was very good. The mango pancotta was amazing. Great location with view of the city skyline. The only negative was the price of the wine at $13 a glass for Sav blanc. Would be happy to return otherwise. Very nice restaurant.

The menu needs work.... Lovely location and atmosphere however a few things need work. We booked a month ahead for a table of 6 and were seated at the back of the restaurant at a table that was really too small for our group- I eyed off the lovely round tables at the front and wondered why we didn't get one of those.<br/>Also, our waiter was brisk and demanding of us to order wine and meals in general, telling us which menu items were 'hits' and 'misses' (which almost seems unacceptable in this type of restaurant and the prices being charged).<br/><br/>All regular diners, we all struggled to order off the menu. There wasn't much of an offering to share and graze on over a wine to start with (short of the bread), and unfortunately the mains were simple, without much flavour interest or cooking technique evident.<br/><br/>Luckily there were plenty of wines by the glass (and a great Queensland offering), so we could drink plenty and forget about the bland, under-seasoned, underwhelming food we were paying for.<br/>Probably come here if you're after a casual no-fuss meal, not a special night out.

Good. Beautiful setting and food was really lovely! We didn't have a booking and were lucky to get a table (a tiny one looking out onto the river.) It was extremely busy so the service was a tad slow but friendly and helpful.

Why bother making a booking?!. Well, I don't know what the food is like, because having make a booking by phone, I got told we didn't have a booking and that "sorry, we're full because we've got big groups".

Good location and good food! If you want a cheap meal try coffee club...

The location and ambience of this restaurant is fabulous. Unfortunately, they are the only stand-out attributes. They had 'run out' of the only vegetarian main meal on the menu - and had no other dish to replace it with. I ended up with a couple of side dishes, which were quite good, but greatly over priced for what they were. Service was ok, until we got booted because there was another booking at our table - might have been nice if they mentioned this beforehand!!

Dissappointing. We booked a month in advance. We were seated at the back of the restaurant in the sun despite requesting a table at the front of the restaurant. We booked until 7pm but were asked to leave earlier to free up a table. The food was OK but the service was so poor we will never return. Such a shame for a restaurant which offers a great view, location and experience. So very dissapointing.

We had dinner. Prawn skewers entree was nice, barramundi was not cooked and this is an expensive meal. Great view but poor food for money.

Jumping Jetty. Went for dinner on a Friday night and were put on the worst table in the restaurant when there were plenty of other free tables. When asked why we were admonished by waiter as were a bit late!! Fortunately a guy not in uniform decided to offer us some service and moved us to a nice table. Food was hit and miss - squid excellent while trout fish cakes were a major disappointment - was expecting crispy fish cakes but they were cold and soggy. Has potential just need consistency with food and attitude adjustment for some of the wait staff.

Awesome!. We ate here for a friend's birthday - we sat at the large raised table in the middle of the restaurant. <br/><br/>The food was incredible - all of it (I tasted almost everyone else's!) I ordered the fish, which was beautiful - perfect! <br/><br/>The ambience is great too, the wine list is awesome and the staff are friendly and helpful and the meals were around 20 minutes from ordering. <br/><br/>The decor is beautiful - even the cutlery is nice! And the view - of course is just awesome! <br/><br/>All in all a great meal! And the bill wasn't too bad either! <br/><br/>Oh and the desserts were great too!!

Can't wait to go back! Food was delicious, service was friendly and even if the food had been slow (which it wasn't) we'd have been happy to sit and enjoy such a great spot.

Great spot. Lovely location, great service and the food is very nice.

Great Service. This is one of my new favourites. Great service, great food and a pretty good little beer list. Been there a few times now and it is always consistent.
Georgia
Service average. Food terrible. Price way too expensive for tiny portions badly cooked. Barramundi was tiny whole baby fish with hardly any flesh served with tomato sauce and a few spinach leaves. Menu described it as barramundi with tomato salsa not bottled sauce. Waitress did not say fish was baby whole and not a fillet. Chips which were extra were worse than your local takeaway. When we told waiter food was terrible for above reasons he laughed.

A must go!!! One of my favorite restaurants in Brisbane, food is amazing, service is amazing and outlook and decor is fantastic, a real crowd pleaser :)

This restaurant is in the great new development of restaurants at southbank. Amazing spot! Great atmosphere at this restaurant. The owners here really care about their restaurant and it shows. They deserve repeat business on their attitude alone. The food is just right. Well priced. Perfect menu. Easy and relaxed. The skirt steak with anchovy butter and home cut fritters for $21.00 was delicious and great value for money! Good burger too. The only very small downside is that it is very noisy but with open plan this is understandbly hard to avoid. In summary- I love this place!

Amazing food...the best! Waited 45 mins for a table we booked and almost 2 hours for the meals to come out once we were seated!
