Certainly, one of the best croissants I have tried in Brisbane. (Tried ham & cheese, plain and mushroom croissants. ) not to mention the fabulous bread/ baguettes on offer. scrumptious sweet & savoury options also. Excellent friendly customer service. Delicious coffee. Definitely will be back.

Dropped by last Sep on a whim after watching a movie across the road. We wandered in just past noon and found stock level on the low side (only really one half-filled cabinet) though I have no idea what’s typical. In any case we selected: * almond croissant (croissant aux amandes), $6.80 * croissant suisse, $5.50 - croissant dough, custard, chocolate chips * butter knot, $3.50 - knot of caramelised croissant dough The suisse was more wifey’s choice, and we picked the butter knot for the boy, whereas I had my eyes on the almond croissant. I first tried this about a month prior when a group of friends got together to try a selection of almond croissants from different bakeries. It came in a close 3rd out of the 5 our group tested and a second tasting has confirmed that ranking in my mind - not the best/our favourite, but not a bad option particularly if it's your local. - - - - - Edit/response to owner: yes the actual visit was 5 months ago. The vast majority of my reviews are posted after the fact - some are later than others, and will usually go on IG first (up to a few weeks behind real time depending on my backlog), with Google reviews to follow at some later time (could be the same day as IG, or sometimes much later / when I get around to it). Apologies for the confusion and I have updated the above to indicate the visit was from Sep 2021.

Every now and then I feel like going there for a nice croissant and coffee in the morning. So good that you cant stop thinking about it. Thanks owners and staff. Will bring my wife with me next time.

I popped in the other day for a loaf of wholemeal sourdough and it was delicious! Brought fiancé today to sit down and we had a wonderful time. Croissants are amazing, and the mille-feuille was just right - not overpoweringly sweet. Coffee was great too. Owner is super friendly and despite how busy it can get you really get a welcoming, really authentic feel when you sit in. We're planning on a croquembouche for our wedding and were beyond delighted to see one through the kitchen window having just been made. Brilliant. Definitely recommend. This will be a regular haunt for us now.

Had late brekky, have been here quite a few times, always great food, nice service, friendly, and cool looking shop. Here's a quickie of my brekky, Ham n Cheese Baguette, Apple Turnover (apologies, didn't have the effort to write those items in French)

This is the real McCoy. I am a chef my self and having trained under French master chefs, this is a true authentic French delight. The best in the city and Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. It is not a mass produced establishment. Everyone and everything matters. C'est superbe !! Magnifique !!

Ah what a find! We were on a little hunt for some light brekkie spots and thank Google for bringing this up. We had 2 items each - husband got the pain aux raisin + classique baguette, and I got the chicken&leek pie + strawberry tart. Despite the size it appears like on these pictures, all items were pretty light eats, just perfect on a Saturday morning. Quick service and amazing smiles from all the staff, and we were just beyond happy with the whole experience. A must-try if you're after some French bites/brekkie 🙂

Never not getting a mushroom croissant from this croissant haven. Recently tried their burnt caramel milkshake, tiramisu and Shades of Chocolate cake - reached foodgasm! 😋 Interior design and music are everything French! Staff are knowledgeable of the day’s menu and welcoming. 🙌🏽

Best service, best coffee, best almond croissant! Heaven on earth! My favourite cafe on the peninsula. Going there weekly is something of a ritual for my husband and I.

Ordered sweet and savoury pastries for my sisters bridal shower and they were amazing! The mini quiches were gone in minutes, the gougères were gorged on! And don't get me started on the mini sweet petit fours, yum yum yum. Easy to order, all packed neatly in boxes and lovely to deal with. Thanks for the great food.

It was an absolute delight to meet Fabrice this morning. We were welcomed into Chouquette so warmly and we thoroughly enjoyed our chat with you during our stay. The food is wonderfully authentic and the new coffee is perfection! Fabrice, in your first week in business you’ve already made your mark, we wish you all the best with your new venture and will see you again soon! Giulianna & Martin

Delicious baguette. The best ham I have ever eaten. The chocolate slice was divine. Loved having a cap in a bowl.

Classy range of exotic and classic patisserie, crusty baguette and breads, lovely croissants and tartes, good tea/coffee. Be patient, small shop, limited seating, busy most of the time

Very nice baguettes 🥖 it was great to have quality food and coffee. There were other nicer treats! Go visit it's worth it.

C'est excellent de trouver en Australie dès boutique française d'une qualité qu'il en existe peu en France !

On behalf of Arthur I am posting this comment: Arthur has said - I have been purchasing delicious baked products from your Patisserie for three years, at least three times per week. All staff members have been very nice and helpful until the new manager has taken up her position. The new manageress is unbelievably rude, obnoxious and unbearable. I will never go back again.
Wendy Louise Diggles
I don't know how you can give this place less than 5 stars , perfection . At first I thought the cakes were a bit expensive , then I had one , fantastic
Ivana Gusakov
The best French cake shop/bakery in Brisbane! Just delicious
Helen Douthit
The most phenomenal pastries I have ever tasted outside of France.
Michael Carkagis
Excellent food and service. Definitely a chart climber. I'll be visiting Chouquette Boulangerie again.
Kylie Burnett
Divine food, coffee and service. All the quality you'd expect from an authentic French cafe. The gruyere cheese and ham croissants are a MUST try! 💛

Just like the real thing it was the thing I missed the most from my trip in France

Amazing croissants & lovely service :)

Incidentally drove past this patisserie after the impressive croissant from MYLK+KO. The memory of my last review recalled the nice plain croissant here too. <br/>Due to a queue of customers waiting outside the patisserie, I think I should drop in and got a take away coffee for the trip back to south-side of Brisbane.<br/>I was lucky that I knew what I wanted so got the priority to place the order and waited outside the cafe for the coffee. <br/>It did not take a long time to have the friendly barista brought along the flat white to me with an extra small treat. The white take away coffee cup really stands out with nice and simple feeling, which reflects on my first sip of the ‘Locale’ brew. Strength is not full but gentle. The little treat does make the coffee up to another level. <br/>What a lucky day!<br/>Last rating: Jan 2018 5/5<br/>

The cakes and pastries are all so so delicious and beautiful!! Ive been four or five times. I usually purchase $30-40 worth of things each time for a family of five. I also like to have small tastes of multiple items. I’ve never had a bad bite.

Came in on Saturday morning, the place was rather busy yet the service was exceptional; staff were friendly and welcoming. Well-lighted store with various vintage photos on the wall and France flag all around the store gives off the comfortable vibe to dine in.<br/><br/>Ordered the Almond Croissant, which was flaky and buttery, along with the nice smell. Also ordered one of the cakes, which tasted amazing. The berries combined with the cream created a refreshing taste, along with the balanced sweetness. It was also presented beautifully.<br/><br/>Would come back in the future to try out some other pastries and cakes!
Izzy
I think I came too late in the day because most of the baked goods were all gone! The plain croissants were one of the last left and – now I’m not an expert in French pastries or anything, but I think it was a Good croissant. Will have to remember to come back to try the other things and the coffee.
Dr Lin
Really really good coffee and im confident to say Chouquette patisserie officially have the best crossiant in the whole of brisbane. We also ordered the strewberry tart to take away it was really really nice.
Diego Leme
Most amazing baguete, coffee and deserts! Loved every bit of everything! Great vibe, friendly staff. It feels like you are in a little French town, will come back for sure!
Danelle Lim Yun
Had some really delicious pastries here! We had the pig cake which was berry flavoured, Millefeuille and almond croissant. Service was good too!
Sinan
Really nice French patisserie / Cafe good desserts along with delicious coffee. Cool outdoor seating area. Will return for more treats soon!

If I’m not concerned about my belly fat, I would come here everyday for breakfast. Nothing will disappoint you. So far my favourites are: l’orange sanguine, croissant aux amandes, pain au chocolat, gougères, tarte citron meringue & fruit danish.

We came here for some coffee and cake last week. As we walk in I compliment the Barista on the delicious coffee aroma that filled the Cafe. The counter staff are helpful as we decide on a dessert to have with our coffee. <br/><br/>Our double shot Cafe Latte looks beautiful. Served extra hot, this strong full flavoured coffee is almost perfect. I enjoy it to the last drop and kudos to the Barista. <br/><br/>Dessert is a “Pepite Chocolat” and it tastes as good as it looks. Phuong Tran says it is a tad too sweet but I like it just fine. A delicious treat!<br/><br/>My all time favourite dessert here is the “Shades of Chocolat”. It has a crunchy praline base with three layers of Chocolate Mousse; Dark, Milk and White. Finished with a mirror glaze and gold leaf. My sister gifts me this Gateaux for my Birthday. Bellissimo!
T
My first time here & I was lucky to have the last piece of Fraise. Absolute amazing! It’s airy, elegant, flavourful, well balanced with sweetness & acidity! Highly recommended! Can’t wait to try the strawberry cake I bought for my partner! Will share my comment afterwards!

I have been craving for croissant these past few weeks. Since I got disappointed with my last croissant from another place, I tried to look for a place which serves better croissant. Yesterday I was finally able to make a visit to chouquette. I was so glad that they had small croissant since I came after having lunch, so I was full already. I enjoyed the croissant. Probably I will come again for their cake
Marich
Beautiful patisserie. We arrived a bit late and most of the sweets were sold out. We had chocolate brioche with coffee. They serve Merlo coffee bean which is not my favorite but the brioche was YUM. It melted in my mouth while I was enjoying every bit of that. Nice casual ambience and friendly staff.
Jessica Irena Frandi
I came here this mornimg after my friend's recommendation. I bought the chausson aux pommes also a cup of mocha. Hands down that's the best apple turnover I've ever had. it's buttery, it's flaky, and the harmony of the apple compote is perfect, not too sour not too sweet. It made me sad when I almost finished the chausson because it's so good I didn't want it to end.<br/>The soy mocha also very nice. The coffee was smooth with perfect balance of choco flavor. And I really appreciate that they didn't oversteamed the soy milk into lumps like many cafes do.<br/><br/>I ended up buying some take-aways: another chausson aux pommes, gougeres, almond tuille, and croissant aux amandes. I've tasted them all and they all taste amazing it made me having a good mpod all day long. I can't recommend this place enough! Definitely will be back with more friends.

The croissants with almonds on top is amazing. Love it so much. Feel already addicted to it. The Cake with passion fruit is wonderful. The coffee taste very smooth, even without sugar, it’s not bitter at all.
Sophie Hodgson
Delicious authentic French pastries. Pain au chocolat and almond croissants are heaven. There are scattered seats inside but the best spot is under the outside canopy. If you're a big coffee head like me, get one of the bowls!
MynameisFood.
A delayed review but worth the review as many has arguably said that this place do offer one of the best, if not the best croissant in Brisbane. Its location may not be the most convenient, nor the need to find street parking without a worry. We had tried to come here before a few times but sadly upon driving past the shop, we realised it was closed.
Grace Lung
Really delicious pastries! Attentive staff.<br/>We got half a dozen chouquettes, chocolate croissant and lemon meringue tart. Reasonably priced. I got it to go and it was nicely packed in Brown paper bags for me. Wish there was more indoor seating as it was a bit too warm outside when we went. Parking might be a little tricky but we managed to find Street parking a short walk away.
Chensha
Friendly service, I felt like I had stepped in from a little French alleyway to this bakery. All the cakes looked scrumptious but we ultimately decided to get an almond croissant and Mille fuielle since we were quite full from lunch. Prices were inexpensive and both were so delicious, albiet the croissant was a little oily! Currently on the hunt for the best almond croissant in Brisbane and this one is up the top with Dello Mano. Can't wait to go back to try the savoury baguettes, the turnover and other pastry goodies!!!
Millie Tang
Gorgeous, friendly staff. The BEST apple turnovers. Every dessert and pastry is a dream and the fit out is comfortable, welcoming and smart. Will always come back for the chouquettes!
Whatwechasing
Arguably the best croissant in Brisbane. A really nice French cafe located in New Farm. Very conveniently they also offered mini croissants. Their cake is also nicely presented, tasty and not overly sweet (which is always the most important thing) Every time we visit we will always take away some cake or bread, overall a must-try place if you are a pastry-lover.

A nice Parisienne experience - it's been a few years since I've been back to Chouquette. There wasn't many cake slices offered the last time I was here. But today, it took me by surprise as I saw many different flavours displayed in their cabinet.<br/><br/>I would have went ahead with their croissants and other pastries but I was still full from a large breakfast, so I instead just went with 2 cake slices - Ruby Desir and Caramelia.<br/><br/>Both flavours were nice, the only down side for me was the fillings in the cakes were a bit heavy (e.g. Loads of chocolate mousse filled in the caramelia) and then there was also the salted caramel mousse on the outside as well. The Ruby Desir wasn't too bad though - balanced flavours :) <br/><br/>Overall, an enjoyable experience! :) <br/><br/>Thank you Chouquette!<br/><br/>

My partner and I are regulars here. Tried many desserts over the last year. Must try the dulce tart. The coffee here is good. Also would get the pork roulette baguette.

Been here a couple of times in the past but recently had the pleasure of re-visiting Chouquette for Sunday breakfast with friends. Queues at Chouquette waxes and wanes over the morning - don't expect a table once you arrive, and get ready to grab a table once someone leaves.<br/>We got a latte, almond croissant, pain au chocolate, wholemeal sourdough and goats cheese tart (not all at once of course, got a goody bag to take home). Highly recommend each and every one. The pastries were deliciously flaky with flavourful fillings. The savoury tart was yummy, not too salty at all. <br/>Chouquette continues to be one of the frontrunners in Brisbane's french bakeries! Will definitely be back.
Rebecca
The chocolate croissant was very good, but I was kinda disappointed, with such high ratings I expected something amazing and it just wasn't. We also struck the problem of no way for a solo diner to reserve a seat and take away was therefore the best option for me, with Wilsons Outlook around the corner this turned out to be a good option
DianaW
What a great Parisienne experience I enjoyed this morning. Upon entering the interior I was mesmerized by the array of stunning delights. A real French journey for me- took me back to those back lanes of Paris. Of course I didn't know which delight to choose so I opted for the almond croissant which looked amazingly delicate with crunchy edges. The coffee was Merlo & made very well with a beautiful presentation & flavor (as is usually the case with Merlo) The croissant was dense with almond filling & the pastry was fluffy & light, loved it
K8 Tat
I had the mushroom croissant. Light, flaky pastry with a tasty mushroom and bechamel filling. I love the variety of traditional French sweets. The Chausson aux Pommes (apple turnover) is delicious. But then again everything made with butter tastes better - the main difference is that Chouquette knows how to use it and not make you feel like you have to waddle out after eating it. I also tried the apricot and nougat eclair. Very light and not too sweet. Very busy so if you want air-conditioning (inside seating), go early.
Mea
Went to Chouquette today and ordered the pistachio cake and the lychee cake to share with friends. The pistachio cake was pretty unique since it is made of horseshoe pastries and it was too heavy for my taste but my friends liked it. I like the lychee cake as it is very light and refreshing, especially after a heavy brunch. Will be back to try other cakes and order the lychee cake again :p and the staff were very friendly too
Meatballs And Beef Cheeks
We had high expectations for Chouquette Patisserie - the Almond Croissant met and exceeded those expectations!<br/><br/>The almond croissant was flaky and buttery, the filling was rich and flavourful, but still light - just how Le Bon Choix used to be. The croissant rated a 4.5.<br/><br/>The traditional sourdough baguette was great - 4.<br/><br/>The mini brioche was above average - 3.5.<br/><br/>The Iced Latte was a little bitter (3) and the Palmier Heart was quite dry and lacking any sweetness (2.5).<br/><br/>Would return for the Almond Croissant and Baguette in a heartbeat!

Beautiful place, friendly staff. I had to leave a review to let everyone know that this place has great coffee and best Chocolate Eclairs!!!
Stacey Tran
Beautiful little patisserie with amazing croissant, petite fours and the eclairs are to die for. My favourite is the lychee and snickers eclairs.

Sandwiches: A-<br/>Coffee: A-<br/>Service: A-<br/>Venue: A-<br/><br/>Overall: 9 out of 10<br/><br/>Notes: One of brisbane's only, excellent all-rounders<br/><br/>Food we tried: Ham and Swiss cheese baguette, Chicken and avocado, tomato baguette, Hot smoked salmon on brioche roll and iced latte
Manimik
Really good patisserie. Cake was delicious with the coffee. A must go cafe in Brisbane. Service was also good and quick. Although table was't clean until I ask for it.
AnitaOnChi
This little cafe reminds me of the ones in laneways in Paris. Baguettes are simple and delicious, pastries include your almond and chocolate croissants. The staff were also very attentive and friendly!
Alexandra Humphries
Delicious pain au raisin, however beyond that I have to say everything looked a little overcooked and the quiche a little mean and dry - too much pastry and not enough filling! I can't comment on the coffee but as a Brit, who has spent many a year holidaying in France, I was a little disappointed with the pastries. I must say that I received a friendly service and it is a popular little breakfast eatery which says something...
Penny Grebert
Absolutely bloody fantastic ~ took my 13 yr old there as part of our 2016 'bucketlist' challenge. I couldn't stop at one coffee or one morsel of sweet indulgence. The girls were lovely and we had a delightful chat to a couple seated next to us. The atmosphere; the food just one big beautiful experience. This will go on our 'frequents' list.
Tastytreat
I've been living across the road from this cafe/bakery for a very long time now.<br/>Finally made it across today.... 30mins until they close. The staff greeted me with a friendly bonjour. They didn't seem fatigued or impatient at what would have been the end of a long morning (they always seem to be packed out the door).<br/>Had a flaked & smoked salmon roll, with fresh, thick cucumber slices. It certainly wasn't packaged sliced portions I've come to expect from a lot of places. Very enjoyable.<br/>Also had a very light, orange & peach cake surrounded by ladyfingers (pictures may do it more justice).<br/>It was a lovely lunch & I will be back.<br/>
Juri Carminati
Finally a nice place to have a french and Italian style breakfast with almond croissant and cappuccino. The hazelnut croissant is also good. I have to try the cake. A Sunday morning ritual
Laura Jane
Coffee and pastries are our Sunday ritual. There's such a variety of cute little cakes and we've not been disappointed yet. I definitely recommend this place!
Cheryl
Love this place ! Amazing French pastry n desserts freshly made everyday. Every single dessert is so delicate just like a beautiful art . Coffee is very nice too. <br/><br/>
Greg
One of the best and most authentic french bakeries in Brisbane. A bit on the pricey side but perfect for a weekend treat or a special occassion. Cakes and breads are fantastic.
Ranga With An Appetite
Friendly service, the price is not overly cheap but you get quality. I've tried the bread and butter savoury pudding numerous times and doesn't disappoint. Pretty much anything there you can get is good. Worth a try!
Lixian Ow
Great coffee.. Their cakes are so lovely.. I bought a chocolate hazelnut cake.. OMG it is so gooood! Had almond crossiant and a cup of flat white.. The almond crossiant is so good.. Everything is perfect.. I will go back there for sure!

As I've been exploring New Farm lately, and with my love of French Pastries, a friend suggested that I ought to give Chouquette a try. It was situated on Barker Street, just off Brunswick Street. . Upon entering, we were greeted by the delicious sight of pastries and buns. W I note that the pastries had a much more basic looking colour compared to the vibrant colours that I am usually used to in le bon choix, which looks far more natural.
Fiona Law
It should be a happy thing when Brisbane finally has a decent dessert place, especially it's a French pastry. But the staff there is a big problem - they have a really bad attitude. I couldn't feel any welcoming atmosphere when I went inside the shop. May be I am an Asian? Cause based on my observation, the female staff there usually changes her face back to delightful mode when she greets a local customer (or a guy). I went to this pastry shop for 2 times, and still experienced the same thing. Your cakes are beautiful, but the attitude is really a big part playing here. I don't pay for taking this whole attitude shit, be frank.
Food Nom Nom
Love this place. Best almond croissants in Brisbane! Chouquette never fails me. Everything is just delicious. The mushroom croissant is so good, the filling is creamy and rich with mushroom flavour.<br/>Ordered the individual cakes before also and they are divine. <br/>Coffee service can be slow but coffee is smooth and not bitter.
Natalie
My husband and I visited Chouquette Patisserie for morning tea and thought it was absolutely delicious!! We had an almond croissant and a chocolate and caramel slice- YUM!!! We will be back!
Franziska Schönenberger
I don't know what happened to this place. It used to be amazing but then the patissier changed I believe. Such a shame........................
Sandra Nguy
Founded and managed by Lara Sample, Chouquette opened in 2006… I didn’t visit until 2014, what a shame! At least we got a few visits in before moving away.<br/><br/>With the skills of French-born and trained bakers and pastry chefs, alongside Australian staff, Chouquette consistently produces authentic and high quality delights. It’s easy to see why customers return again and again.<br/><br/>In 2013, Chouquette’s sister business, Crust & Co, opened in Wilston as a wholesale business that also caters to the public. If you know me, then I’ve definitely told you how much we love Crust & Co! Chouquette is no different, with the bonus of more options and atmosphere!<br/><br/>The small bakery in New Farm opens at 6:30am Weds-Sunday. Get in early for the best selection of goodies, as well as a seat! There are a handle of seats indoors and a few more outside on the sidewalk. Definitely not a place to set up shop and study for the day, but a bite to eat and catch up with friends is perfect! You will also notice a consistent stream of customers come in for take away goodies through out the day.
HanCat
Beautiful French pastries, but room for improvement. We frequently visit Chouquette and are always impressed with the high quality of the lovely food and coffee.<br/><br/>The major downside, however, is that every time we come they have run out of some of the items we were hoping to order. Most often this happens with pain au chocolat and almond croissants, but also occurs with the savoury croissants and macarons. We hear other patrons remark on the lack of selection as well.<br/><br/>I would like to suggest that Chouquette increases the production number of some of their more popular items. I realise that the numbers are related to potential for wastage, but surely the number of customers asking if there is any more stock out the back should indicate that the numbers may need to be increased.
Coffee Snob
Best patisserie in Brisbane. I absolutely love this place, it transports you to the streets of Paris with the mostly French shop assistants and glittering array of pastries calling out your name. The coffee is also excellent and if you have a little one, be sure to ask for a babycino - it's a treat!
Franny
Fabulous. I would travel out of my way for Chouquette. Best patisserie in Brisbane hands down. The shades of chocolat has become a tradition for special occasions.
Typical Food Blog
Excellent almond croissants and a steady stream of customers all morning.. Great place and excellent almond croissants that really took us back to Paris. We liked the apple turn over too - I think during the morning seating can be an issue but many customers came to take away this Sunday morning.
StarvingDog
Almond Croissants are a winner. Best Almond Croissants in town! A regular and happy customer.
Molly
Don't go just before closing. Went in on a Saturday to get a couple of baguettes. Staff member very grumpy and bread was very hard and chewy. Expect things to stay fresh all morning. Unimpressed.
Lil.angel.butterfly
I love love love LOVE this place!. Chouqette has to be one of my all time favourite dining spots in Brisbane :) The staff are wonderful - they actually speak french! The food is gorgeous. I've been there several times and have never had anything I did not like. I have taken many friends there and they all have loved it.
Ashlee.cam
Bonjour Brisbane!. Yum. <br/>I met a girlfriend for coffee at Chouquette this morning. I must admit that it is a little busy on the weekend but we didn't need to wait more than a few minutes for a seat. The selection of bread, pastries and sweets on offer are incredible. This little cafe gives many of the patisseries I have visited in France a run for their money.
CarlS
Awesome!. Love this place... Friendly and amazing food... :)
Braydos87
Pain au chocolat!. Love this patisserie<br/><br/>the pain au chocolat is amazing and always a must for me.<br/><br/>so hard to resist buying one of everything. just looking at the different cakes and pastries is amazing. the range and quality is so good.<br/><br/>ok coffee. not the best, but better than most ive had.
Chef In Brisbane
Wonderful. As a chef, i can't recommend it enough... Authentic, and great service... Just wish it was something i could affrd to eat at all the time.... as always though, you get what you pay for..... :)
Kenneth
Fantastic -- one of the best if not the best patisserie in Australia!! A real find -- we are lucky to have it here!
Peruvian Palate
This is my favourite place to get chocolate croissants and coffee. You can traste the freshness.
Mandy83
Consistency is Key. I believe the great thing about this place is that they're consistently good at some things, and consistently not-so-good at others. It's great because Chouquette never leaves you guessing. <br/><br/>Once you know what to buy and what to avoid, much joy can be had here.
Stacey
If you've been to Europe or S.America you'll be disappointed.. I'd heard good things about this lil place. Being a lover of butter and pastry I had high expectations. After a disappointingly warm, weak coffee and rather mediocre millefeuille, I returned thinking I must've just struck them on a bad day. This time I tried the au pain chocolat, thinking it would be the most reliable choice for a true indication of the quality of this place... It was overcooked and almost stale. :( Surely they do something well?
Nomnomyums
Went on a rainy Sunday morning. It was really busy. Nice selection of cakes and pastries.
Chicco
2nd to none... Haven't found better in Brisbane. Everything is perfect staff and Barrista always friendly
Edna
Delicious lemon meringue cake.. Yummy cakes but coffee was so strong I couldn't drink it. staff were polite and friendly though. I would give it another try but maybe substitute the coffee for a hot chocolate. Lemon meringue was delicious.
Forever Hungry
Decent food but over priced. Nice place. Quite a nice selection of delicious looking food!! <br/>Just a bit on the pricey side for food thats good but not amazing.
Geoffrey_K
Quite disappointed. I ordered a strawberry mouse cake which was circular in shape on their website. Though pictures are indicative, I picked up a cake that was rectangular and decorated in such a way that looked absolutely nothing like the picture online. Also name written in icing was practically illegible. Never again.
Sarah
Love this place. Always satisfied with what we get every time we come here. We always try to come early and beat the crowd, but its always packed so we come early to make sure we get something. Don't go late they sell out pretty quickly.
Captainshaft
Went there for the first time today after a French colleague recommending their pastry as being close to what they serve in France. It really was excellent. The croissant they serve here is just like no others. Good service and great food. 9/10!!!
Fat Starfish
Oui Oui!. Seriously delicious baguettes, chouquettes and pastries. Seating is hard to get so recommend taking your freshly baked goodies down the road to New Farm Park and enjoying with friends.
Vinh Nguyen
Best Cakes and Pastry. This place has great pastry and cakes for very little $$$. But you gotta get in early before all the good ones are sold out! I recommend the Shades of Chocolate cake and Chausson aux Pommes
Bean Round
C'est magnifique. Faultless - it is always hard to choose here but the Lemon Meringue Tart is unbelieveably good - no gelatin here, just silky gorgeousness - and consistently fabulous coffee. Staff are friendly to adults and kids alike.

Wow. vive la france. The coffee was very nice and came with a beautiful chocolate dusted foam art-piece. the desserts are so tasty and pretty looking. the staff are out of this world, outstanding attitudes and smiles, very bright happy atmosphere. i highly recommend.
Kampai
Love!. My whole family loves chouquette! The food, atmosphere and staff are all amazing! It's a little bit of Paris in New Farm.
Exywexy
Sunday morning treat. Very very nice and tasty pastries! Real european style croissants and always taste fresh. <br/>The only let down is the long wait for coffee. Even on a busy sunday morning I find 10 minutes plus not acceptable!
Becandfood
Absolutely amazing. Just amazing. Delicious flavours. Fascinating bowls of coffee. Great friendly service. A little feel of Paris. We went back for second serves as it was so delicious and yes we were stuffed (in a very good way) with sugary goodness.
Richard
Beautiful. Lovely space, fantastic staff, great product. Wonderful part of Brisbane's bakery scene.
Jay
Heaven. Typically hard to impress being a chef, but this place is fantastic. Go there and die happy. <br/><br/>Enough said. :)

The Best Pain au Chocolat in Brisbane!!. The Best Pain au Chocolat in Brisbane! They don't get better!!!
Food Critic
Good quick service. Nice Merlo coffee. Amazing desserts :-) We will definitely go back.
Macaroon Mary
Orderd 12 assorted macaroons for a dinner party..explained my preferences and was charged 36 dollars for the worst macaroons ( all of flavours I explained I diddnt like) I apreciate a generous size but the texture was bumpy and im afraid they were An eyesore.
Petertan
Delightful. Once again; another great and unique local bakery; far removed from the mass produced breads that horrify the brisbane landscape.
BT
Amazing lemon tart!. I've been to Paris and eaten from quaint patisseries and been miserable ever since because I thought I'd never be able to find anything anywhere near as good outside the streets of Paris. Chouquette is devine. The shop is straight out of france complete with french staff. The baguettes are tastey and filled with simple but fresh ingredients that allow the bread to be the star. The sweet selection on offer is amazing. I went with girfriends and we sampled the chocolate tart, chocolate croisant and the lemon tart. All were heaven sent and worth every calorie filled bite. The only downfall to Choquette is that because of it's popularity it's not a very relaxing place to sit and eat and enjoy a coffee. The line to get in is out the door most of the time and the eat in area is right next to the line to order. We got our goodies take away and wandered down to new farm park to enjoy our treats in the sunshine. I'll definately be back....alot.

Love is an almond croissant. I fell in love at first sight with Chouquette! My cappuccino and almond croissant were the perfect brunch. The soft French music and sounds of French language spoken by staff and attractive decor transported me to Paris. Beautiful.

Just close your eyes and your in Paris. Love love love this place, maybe plan to eat super healthy for a week after eating here but totally worth it! I am a macaroon fanatic and these are the best in Brisbane!

Merci. Best macaroons and almond croissants! Team them up with a bowl of coffee & a magazine & it's a perfect spot :)

Nice pastries tarts delightfully crisp. Try the tarte aux pommes.

Amazing croissants & coffee. Love this place!!! The croissants are the best croissants out of France! The coffee is amazing and the cakes are incredible. The staff are friendly. My husband and I visit regularly and if you don't mind a queue, it is worth the wait !

Great treat. My husband and I tried this place on Saturday. there was a que but we were glad we waited. <br/>We had strawberry cake and eclair. They were so good and we went back next day. we tried lemon tarts. <br/>This place is just great!

Disappointed. The baguette was rock hard got sore muscles from all the chewing! the croissant was nice but could have been slightly warmed/toasted. The tarte aux fruites was nice but nothing extraordinary. Lots of things were sold out already, maybe should try going at a earlier time nxt time! but no more baguettes!!!!

Hidden Treasure. This place sells the best bread and pastry outside of Paris! I love it! There is so many delicious choices I end up ordering about 4 things - worth every calorie.

Absolute Rip off. Much prefer to go to Jocylens just down the road. They have a larger variety without the attitude.

C'est vraiment magnifique!. I think if you're going to eat something you KNOW is bad for you, it had better be worth every calorie! I hate it when you eat something naughty and think "was that worth it"<br/>At Chouquette you can pick any pastry on display (get in early or there won't be much left to choose from) and you will enjoy every single morsel. <br/>If you have not been here before go! You won't regret it.<br/><br/>Chocolate éclair is my must have!

Simply ze best!. I've been a regular since I've moved to New Farm. If N.F was a cake, Chouquette would be what the French call "la cerise sur le gateau".<br/><br/>Ambiance: "la petite boulangerie, patisserie de quartier" ou l'on peut paisiblement prendre son petit dejeuner <br/><br/>Service: Agreable, friendly, down-home service. Even though you may not speak French, throw out some simple French greetings here and there "Bonjour", "Merci" etc...<br/><br/>Parking: Street parking available<br/><br/>Food: Very prideful of their desserts. The most authentic viennoiseries you can find in Brisbane . <br/>I'm in love with literally everything I've tried so far! Got a crush on their pistachio/raspberry financier, they're irresistible! Almond croissants are also very satisfying etc etc... <br/>The quiches are so good! but if you have a bigger appetite, their baguette sandwiches will fill you up! <br/>Amazing coffees!
Kawaii Bubble Tea
Nothing to fault. I have absolutely no complaints so here is what I recommend:<br/>Macaroons - Get in early as they sell out. My favorites are Strawberry and Mango.<br/>Quiche Lorraine - Blew my mind.<br/>Almond Croissant - So bad but so good. Can only manage a bite or two as it's so rich.<br/>My favorite desert is a hazelnut mousse with a hard pastry. So.good.<br/>The only slight downside are the sandwich baguettes. The fillings are great however the baguette is rock hard, I could use it as a weapon.

I love the bowls of coffee, the filled baguettes, bread, pastries etc. Get the picture.

Great bakery items, coffee not the best but average

Paris in new farm!. Beautiful petit fours and coffee! and what lovely and helpful staff.

Real French. I went Chouquette on Thursday morning and it was fully packed! More surprisingly, customers from young to old kept turning up to buy their pastry and bread. I had a quiche which was just out of oven with flat white. The quiche was one of the best I have ever had. I bought chouquettes for my friends and all of them texted me later just to say they were really delicious. I cannot wait to go back there!
KAT
My guilty weekend morning pleasure. The line is always worth it for the wonderful service and wonderful food - the macarons are to die for as are the almond croissants, baguettes.....

Good bread!. Fantastic to have a little piece of real France in Brisbane. All of their bread is excellent. Make sure you get in there early, the good stuff sells out fast!

Always fab :). Hard to get a table, but grab takeaways and sit under a tree in the park and enjoy the buttery goodness!
Jess
Amazing flaky almond croissants, friendly and quick service

Amazing pastry but in all bluntness, the coffee was terrible.

Yummy!!. Best eclairs in Brisbane!!

Favourite Patissiere. Once a fortnight or so my GF and I head to Chouquette for our pastries fix. We always leave with a box full of treats and a smirk on our faces. The lovely staff must think we are buying for 6 people!<br/><br/>Favorites are the eclairs (If there are any left!), citron tart and maccaroons but seriously everything is delicious...<br/><br/>Their breads are also superb.
Kate
The Macaroons here are to die for - when you've tried these bad boys forget the rest

Best pastries ever. Went all the way to New farm for the shop. take away Fraisier and Éclair. both tasted heavenly. definitely worth the trip. hopefully they'll have a franchise in the CBD!!
CandiedRosePetals
Delightful pastries. Service:<br/>Prompt and friendly<br/><br/>Food:<br/>The petit lemon meringue tart is balanced between sweet and sour, with absolutely the best, smooth, velvety meringue I have ever tasted. The peach brioche with custard middle is also one to rave about, beautifully baked and finished, the sugar coated outside is slightly crunchy with moist inside helped by the custard filling.<br/>A fresh French baguette was taken home and eaten with shaved smoked ham slices and a variety of cheeses. <br/><br/>Overall:<br/>Would love to dine here for breakfast. Will definitely visit again.

Wow. Wow. Absolutely wowed. This place produces some of the best pastries I've tasted anywhere in the world. Highly recommend you try their macaroons and tarts.

Chouquette is outstanding. We have our family breakfast there every Sunday. Fantastic coffee and the range of sweets is mind-blowing if you arrive early enough. Definitely try the chausson aux pommes and the eclairs. Also the goats cheese baguette is very tasty for lunch.
Chris E
Eclair was delicious but the range of sweets available when I visited was quite poor. Will have to aim for earlier in the day next time I think!
Abbyzen
Great choice of breads and delicious croissants but not enough choice of pastries.
Jazc
Pastries and macarons. Really good pastries and macarons. Ok sweets. Not so impressive coffee.
Sarah
Perfect in Every Way. Chouquette is a little bit of Paris transported to Brisbane. The breads and pastries are very authentic and consistently excellent.

Try anything. You will not be disappointed, possibly the best baguettes in Brisbane no Queensland. The pastry is to die for and you will only wish you could eat more of them.

Mmmmmm, pastry. The pastries here are DELICIOUS! Definitely a nice way to treat yourself with a coffee, pastry and some people watching.
Chalkie
This is one of the best pastry shops I have ever been to, The baguettes are magnificent and the range & choice of Pastries is world class.<br/>Try the bowl of coffee with a pastry what a way to spend some time.

Real bread & real croissants. Served to you by une vraie francaise! Miam!

This is one of my favourite café in Brisbane. As you can see from the Urbanspoon rating… it never disappoints. You are always greeted with a smile and then followed by ‘Bonjour’. The café has a relaxing atmosphere and great outdoor seating area. Weekends can be a very busy with constant flow of customers but if you wait patiently (15-20minutes) you still manage to find a table. This year we kept our yearly ritual to have breakfast at Chouquette on the last working day of the year. We arrived at 7am and there is already a queue! We ordered two flat white, an almond croissant, Pain au Chocolat, Pains D'Amande and a gingerbread Christmas tree (for dessert at night). All in all it was approximately A$35. The sweetness of the viennoiseries were perfectly balanced with the flat white. It was a great start to a perfect Brissie day. Bon appétit!

Chouquette is a tribute to the traditional art of baking in France. Each pastry is perfectly buttery and flakey, just as you’d expect to get from a Parisian patisserie. The prices might seem a little expensive given the size of the cakes, but once you’ve tasted them you’ll find that the quality is more than worth it.

The highlight for me was definitely the pastries and I couldn't resist ordering the Pain au Chocolat and Tarte au Chocolat. The Pain au Chocolat had a decent amount of chocolate tucked beneath layers of flaky dough. While it satisified my craving for flaky pastries, it was no match for the chocolate tart. Rich, smooth dark chocolate ganache filled the crumbly all-butter crust, making it the perfect dessert to finish off a the meal with a cup of coffee.

Chouquette, a little tucked away patisserie in New Farm, from various types of bread, to cake to pastries, macarons, coffee and sandwiches. It was only around 930-10am and this little shop was already packed and a line was forming (and with good reason as well!!) i didn't try the macarons but they were very sizeable and looked delicious, the millefeuille was so delicious - this is coming from someone who generally does not like custardy sort of desserts or pastries - but the 3 layers of pastry was very light and crisp with a creamy custard filling - not too sweet or heavy either! perfect combination; although not something you want to eat on a windy day at the park.. with no fork or napkin.. !<br/>

Few other places in town bring out the authentic tastes and textures of France like Chouquette does (well maybe Montrachet too, but we're talking bakeries for the time being). Then again, we would expect nothing less from an establishment whose chefs and bakers have been sourced from France’s Institut Nationale de Boulangerie Patisserie. As they would say in French, 'delicieux!'

I had great expectations to what they had to offer!  Their website had given me a taste of what was in store, and I was excited for the extensive variety of bread rolls, pastries, and cakes.  When I approached Chouquette, I really had expected it to be much busier, with people sitting around and conversing with French coffees - but I found it rather empty.

We got the delicious millefeuille, with beautiful custard between crispy layers *drools*.

Nestled in New Farm is a gorgeous little French patisserie called Chouquette, named after a treat made with choux pastry and sprinkled with pearl sugar. One of my lovely friends recommended Chouquette to me, and after viewing their delectable goodies online I made a date to experience a little bit of French sweetness. Overwhelmed by the variety of fresh breads, stunning gâteaux and scrumptious pastries on offer, I finally settled for the Shades of Chocolat gâteau– a three-layered chocolate mousse on a crispy praline feuilletine base, topped with a mirror glaze, chocolate ribbon and gold leaf. It was amazingly silky smooth, insanely rich and just absolutely delightful. And if that wasn’t enough, stealing mouthfuls of my friends’ purchases convinced me even more of Chouquette’s deliciousness.

It seems that the common factor in Chouquette’s consistently brilliant food is quality. No corner appears to have been cut in making each dish. The ingredients are top-class, with immense skill and care going into each construction. Accessing this level of quality may require you to briefly cohabit with Gazza and overhear his weekend plans while he coddles his shih-tzu, but the first bite of your baguette will make it all worthwhile.

Chouquette’s meal options are limited to savoury baguettes, however they are very good. We enjoyed a Tetsuya Smoked Trout baguette with cream cheese, capers and dill ($9). Traditional flavours with delicious smoked trout instead of salmon – yum!

I liked the almond croissant and chocolate eclair the best while G liked the 'Shades of Chocolate'. It seemed that their almond croissants are selling fast because I can see the worker refilling them quite often. After having tasted coffee from Campos, their coffee was all right, just not as thick and creamy.

Chouquette is a lot smaller than I had imagined. Located in a quiet neighbourhood, it's very popular among the locals. We sat and talked about our upcoming holiday over some pastries and hot drinks, it was really relaxing to be honest. I heard that they make fabulous almond croissants but unfortunately, neither of us had any room left in our stomachs. I probably wouldn't travel to New Farm for some French pastries considering that Le Bon Choix is conveniently located only one block away from where we live and they are just as good if not better.

ou take a little bit of Par-ee! one of the best macarons i've had. strongly recommend you try one too :-)
Strawbeari3
Having now tasted a few of the items on offer, I can understand why Choquette is so popular given the relatively limited pastry choices around town.

How would one define the word "Choquette"? a) A bakery that serves some gorgeous french pastry and desserts in New Farm or b) A gorgeous hollow cream puff topped with pearl sugar that teases your palate and calls out for some cream or custard. I have slow

Their gateau, pastries, macarons and bread are truly exceptional. And although they're worth the wait, Margaret, I'd suggest timing your visit to avoid the lengthy queues that form on weekend mornings from about 8am until 11am. If you're an early bird, pop in before 7am (they open at 6.30a
Eating Brisbane
Chouquette really is one of the New Farm Gems. It excels on every front from the pastries to the croissants, breads and even the coffee! I return here on a weekly basis, if not more.

The SO promised birthday cake at Le Bon Choix in town, but I was curious about another French patisserie, Chouquette and suggested we drop by there instead on our way home from grocery shopping. Parking also wouldn't cost an arm and a leg out in the burb.

This cafe is like a little bit of France in Brisbane. From the “Bonjour” when you walk in the door to the delectable pastries on display it’s like a mini holiday without the plane ticket. The modern shop front doesn’t have much room for seats inside as there’s a huge counter topped with strawberry tarts, jewel coloured macarons and crusty baguettes. But Chouquette’s specialty are its buttery, flaky croissants ($3.50). Served fresh with jam and a pat of golden butter or as a pain au chocolat.
