Cha Cha, First I love the name of the restaurant. I had $110 Wagyu Striploin with soft shell crab dish, Wagyu spring rolls and fresh prawn dish. I’m spoiled by the Wagyu I had in Japan, so it wasn’t the best Wagyu I’ve had, but enjoyed the appetisers and great vibe. I give this place 4 bears
Was looking for a good restaurant near Eagle pier and saw Cha Cha Char. Place wasn’t packed as I was a bit early for dinner so I got seated right away. Waitress was very warm and happily ran me through their menu. I decided to go with their grain-fed wagyu steak cooked medium-rare paired with a glass of red wine. Wait time was reasonable. Food was good, as expected of its price. Wow factor isn’t there but I’m happy to recommend the place to colleagues as the ambiance and the staff were great.
What a fantastic establishment. The service was absolutely amazing; Thanks Alejandro for sharing your breadth of knowledge of the red wine list, you were very entertaining. I had the wagyu rump cap and it was one of the best steaks I have had in a long time (And I hail from Australia’s beef capital 😏) Keep up the great work Cha Cha Char, I will be back again soon!
A steakhouse offering some of the city’s most premium cuts of meat and treating them with the utmost dignity and culinary care. It’s one of the defining venues of the Eagle Street Pier experience. Full transparency is given in their grill menu offering comprehensive detail on the age, breed and rearing which alleviates any doubts on their claim as one of the best grill houses in the country if not the state. Ranges from $47 and $110 per dish, all cuts are grainfed offering that extra fattiness and render to flavour the meat.
Cha Cha Char is probably still the kings of steaks in the CBD maybe a little controversial but they've been on the money everytime we've been and there is little fault I could find in the place
Great spot to try for anyone looking for quality steaks, great atmosphere and delightful service.
I tried the Black Onyx Rib Eye fillet, which was rich in marbling and had robust cereal flavours. Salted to perfection ( many places skimp on seasoning 🤷♂️)
The dish came with 3 options as side. I chose the crispy rosti with corn purée and burre noisette.
👉Cost was $74
The peppercorn sauce went well with this meat.
My colleagues had
🍴Lamb Rump with globe artichokes, provincial salad and garlic purée . (46$)
🍴 “Ribeye on Bone” British bred Hereford X, 24month, sourced from the emerald valley in NSW (74$)
Served with Crispy Rosti and a chunky corn purée with burre noisette and side of Bernaise sauce
The service is always good and the beer cold. The entree I had was really nice. The scallops and pork was very good. I know it is weird, but I had the Fish Wellington at a steak restaurant. Bad move. Didn’t enjoy the tastes. Nice restaurant, but stick to what they are famous for.
A few beers and the onto the steaks via oysters kilpatrick. I had the 200 gm eye fillet cooked perfectly and a nice grass fed steak. Another had the bigger rib fillet black onyx. Quite big and delicious. Fresh horse radish.
Had such a great day today at Brisbane's Bug & Oyster trail @eaglestreetpier. Kids had ball and it turned out to be a perfect way to end school holidays. 14 restaurants participated so was very spoilt for choice. Very happy #foodie
I started with BBQ bugs served in brioche roll filled with Blond d'aquitaine steak tartar from Cha Cha Char Wine Bar & Grill for $18. It was lovely. Wish l could have more.
My husband and I dined here on a busy Saturday night and enjoyed our experience. The staff really are an asset – very well informed, polite, helpful and very friendly. To start, my husband ordered a glass of wine and I chose a mocktail. The wine list is extensive, without being too overwhelming with a good selection available by the glass. It is not cheap, but the quality is excellent which makes it a little easier (and delicious!) to swallow.
We shared an entrée – scallops with crispy chicken, asparagus puree and bacon cream. Sold by the bacon cream, this was the highlight of the dish. The flavours worked so well together, although I thought the chicken was a bit of an odd addition, however it all tasted lovely. It was very small to share between two, however was a nice way to start our meal.
For mains, we both chose steak as Cha Cha Char’s are renowned for them. I unfortunately, had to have mine cooked well done being pregnant, but my waiter assured me the wagu rump was probably the best cut of beef to have well done as the marbling makes it still very juicy and succulent. He was right – it was lovely and I know it would have been even better if I’d been able to have it done the way I REALLY wanted it cooked! The sides it comes with are perhaps not enough to make it a very filling meal, so I would recommend choosing one or two to share. My steak came with the Portobello mushroom, and another accompaniment I can’t remember what it was, topped with dukkah, but it was delicious. My husband chose the T-bone and had the potato rosti and corn on the side. We also shared a roasted garlic and pepper sauce which was excellent – FULL of flavour – and some chips – also crispy and really delicious. Both steaks were cooked to order and full of flavour. I like that they offer mustards and horseradish as well.
For dessert, my husband chose the sticky date pudding with bourbon caramel sauce, mascarpone cream and vanilla icecream – a favourite dessert of his. I chose the apple tart with caramel sauce and clotted cream. My dessert came out with strawberry icecream and no cream and my husband’s came out with strawberry icecream and no cream. He questioned this with our regular waiter who checked with the kitchen. They had run out of vanilla icecream, but brought my cream out separately. I appreciated that they investigate this, and also comped one dessert which was very kind and shows excellent customer service. Perhaps if the waiters who brought our desserts out had explained the icecream situation, he wouldn’t have questioned it with our waiter as we completely understand that menu items need to change due to unexpected happenings. This does make us sound like total food snobs, however for a restaurant with premium prices, I believe it's ok to ask the question if things aren't what you expected.
All in all, we really enjoyed our meal at Cha Cha Char’s – I wouldn’t say it’s a romantic setting as the furnishings are a little tired and dated and it can get very loud in the restaurant, however it was a very nice evening. Fantastic that it is on the Entertainment Card, as it helps take the sting out of the expense because it’s not a cheap place to dine. Fantastic service, very nice food and great wine (which I didn’t get to enjoy!!)
Had a great dinner at this place during my business trip. The steak was perfectly grilled at my favourite medium. The river view was so romantic.
Dinner was excellent. I had rump steak with porterbello mushroom. Quality of steak is worth the price when considering location and ambience. Staff are knowledgeable and attentive.
I had my very first steak meal last night at Cha Cha Char, and there couldn't have been a better place for a steak newbie! The spice rubbed fillet was absolutely delicious, and every bite was juicy and tender. The portabella mushrooms and the dukkah on the side was a welcome change from the usual side accompaniments offered at most places.
We had the dessert tasting platter at the end which had elements derived from all the desserts on the menu, and oh boy! What a treat! The service was excellent and very friendly. Loved the experience!
Steak this week, and picked up this restaurant which claims to have the best steak.
I reckon that their steak was of super quality but other cuisines were pretty average.
Steak first! The waiter would bring out a tray of steak samples and introduced them one after another. This absolutely gave us a vivid look of all the steaks, we finally chose the rump cap after considering the waiter's recommendation and browsing all the steaks samples. Following the recommendation, chose medium cooked with two sides: chips and iceberg salad, and it is served with mushroom sauce. The steak is sensational, sooo tender, charred outside and pinky inside. Looks a bit fatty when it is raw but tastes just perfect even without sauce.
Prawn linguine: the sauce and the linguine just didn't match. The whole dish is quite dry and flavorless.
Oysters with jalapeno: the jalapeno is over sweet and powerful, so We hardly tasted the freshness of the oysters themselves. I think they taste better without jalapeno.
Desert tasting: banana lemon mousse is spot on. The texture is smooth, but the other two are just so so.
The Amuse Bouche was average as well.
I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to try high-quality steak, but not other dish
Beautiful cuts of meat cooked to perfection. As the premier steak restaurant in Brisbane it's definitely not cheap but it's all aged and/or marbled and super succulent. The bernaise is actually so delectable I could eat it like a (highly calorific) soup. Fine dining at its best and a GREAT place to go when work is paying!
Great food; every main and every entree was just superb. Three of us dined here together and not one of us was not impressed by the meals we ordered. Decently broad menu and good drinks on offer too. Exceptionally friendly and attentive service. Bit on the pricey side but worth it.
Went there on valentines day for lunch. Food is good as usual. Love the steak tartar. And my eye fillet was cooked perfectly. Their bread is expensive as something to start though. There is a chef recommended appetizer have been brought to us, and we got charged for it! I thought it is a treat on house. Not sure how this works, are we supposed to say no if we don't want it???? It is tasty though. I am just not sure whether it is appropriate for them to force something to you. Anyway~ food is quite slow for a lunch with not many people in the restaurant. We wait for almost an hr to get our main. Again, tasty though

Enjoyed a wagyu rump and chocolate fondant here recently with a large group. I ordered the rump rare and it came to the table cooked perfectly, acompanied by portobello mushrooms with café de paris, dukkah and tomato relish. The fondant was gooey but a thicker consistancy so I couldn't get the 'money shot' by it oozying out onto the plate - still delicious though and a great chocolate flavour.
Delicious steak, great quality cut of meat and not over cooked. Oysters were also very fresh. Sauces with steak are perfection too. Only negative is the service was a little bit slow and the restaurant itself is very noisy!!
Went on a busy Friday night. The steak selection is vast and the waiter was knowledgeable. My steak was cooked exactly how I asked for it. Seems like something that you should expect in every restaurant but in reality it doesn't happen so often. Staff were ok. They seemed to struggle a bit with the amount of work so had to wait some time to order our meal. The oysters were fresh. Whether it's worth the pricetag, I'm not sure but it certainly beats Black Hide in Caxton St. I'd go here again.
I was sick quite some time ago and required a hospital admission and my partner looked after me so incredibly well I wanted to treat him to a special lunch out when I was feeling better. I asked him what his favourite meal was, to which he replied, "steak, of course!" So I decided to take him to the best steak restaurant in Brisbane; we arrived and he ordered the duck hahaha!
We loved our experience at Cha Cha Char. My partner's duck was perfect, I had the delicious mushroom risotto, and we both ordered desserts. My partner has since professed that dessert will never be the same for him as his was simply unbeatable.
The service is great, the location and view are lovely; we'll definitely be back for special occasions in the future.
Always a pleasure to visit, extensive wine list and a quality steak menu to stack up against the best. Well educated staff on both food and drink options and accompanying combinations.
Simple features like a selection of quality mustards with your steak are nice and unfortunately not the standard elsewhere, Cha Cha char is up there in my top 10 favourite Brisbane Restaurants as it's always a welcoming atmosphere where the staff will do what's needed to ensure you leave with a sense that is exceeding your expectations.
Would recommend to everyone after a quality experience.
Had dinner here 2 weeks ago and absolutely reaffirmed my resolve that this is the best all round restaurant in Brisbane. The food as always was amazing, the oysters especially were mint. I strongly urge anyone looking for a really fine dining experience to not skip Cha Cha char as they have consistently performed to the highest standards. I used to eat at kingsleys but they were hit and miss, so I went here and I am so happy I did. Plus they are not as expensive as some of the other apparently fine dining venues in the immediate vicinity, and offer excellent meal size and value for money
Steak was OMG amazing. Liked it here. But the plates were so old style. Better to get a new plate to match with your yummy dishes. Entree was nice as well. Good service.
We visited Cha Cha Char on a Saturday evening. On arrival we were informed that our reservation (made weeks in advance) had not been put in the system, the staff were quick to accommodate and find us a spot. We were given a free appetiser and our waiter was very charming and attentive. We had two entrees and two mains + a bottle of wine. The food was superb. Couldn't recommend the scallops for entrée more! The Waiter had extensive knowledge of the different cuts of meat available and they were cooked to perfection! It's in a great location and has really good atmosphere Other than the rocky start it was an overall good experience and I would recommend Cha Cha Char to my friends and family.
Lovely location! Best steak I had!four of us ordered rump cap, rib fillet , salmon and duck. Steaks are insanely tasty!! However for non-steak dish it's just normal. A bit pricy but the steak price is reasonable considering its quality. You definitely won't regret if order steak. All the waiter waitress are helpful and friendly.
Been lunching at Cha Cha Cha for decades and every steak meal has been outstanding. With its great location and experienced wait staff it is a pleasure to visit this fine dining establishment.
Had lunch here a few weeks ago & was very impressed by the steak. Perfectly cooked & seasoned with wonderful sides. Also, my entrée of lambs brains & black pudding was amazing! Worth a visit!
Cha Cha Char you have delivered had a brilliant scotch fillet absolutely amazing top notch service and the waiter was knowledgable a fresh change from the usual Melbourne duds that talk a load of shit ! Huge wine list of you don't mind a dollar or 200 get on down thanks guys on the amazing job!
Great steaks.. one of the best I had in Australia so far. Lovely location facing the river. Worth the $ and the service was friendly and efficient.
I've been here several times . Food is fanstatic but we have to wait for long time to get meal ( more than an hour). The atmosphere quite good for Saturday night...

High quality steaks, but very pricey. I've only been to Cha Cha Char once. My sister-in-law was taking me out to lunch for my birthday and she insisted that we both order the $110 Highly Marbled Mayura Sirloin (Marbling 9+, Age 30-36 months). It was rich and delicious, reminiscent of a high-end Kobe Beef in Japan, but this confirmed for me that I prefer leaner cuts of beef (unless I'm in Argentina - they know how to cook fat like nobody's business!). Great view, good service, good steaks, but haven't felt the need to return. Slightly better value for money at Stokehouse.
Really, very nice... The beef jus in the little cow jug is especially good. My partner enjoyed the lamb brains with black pudding. I had the pork belly entree which was also good (and not seafood - mostly)...
I think Cha Cha Char makes the best steaks in Brisbane. I always order the Sirloin, median rare, absolutely delicious. Wouldn't recommend their Entrée though.
Fabulous service and atmosphere. Made the mistake of going duck vs the steak. Massive food envy with my colleagues rib eye on the bone - looked absolutely mouthwatering and had rave reviews. Rookie mistake can't wait to go back.
Almost forgot to recommend the calamari starter soft and gorgeously seasoned!😘
Slick Chef Extraordinaire. Gangster Of Food.

Really awesome steaks and great wine to match. The service was friendly and prompt. Great view, awesome steak, nice wine, good service, I can't wait come back!
I had the most amazing Rib eye on the bone. Cooked to perfection. Definitely not a vegetarian restaurant lol. Service was outstanding and while it I not the cheapest place to get a good steak in Brisbane it is certainly worth every cent.
I was really surprised how great this restaurant really is?! The beef tartare was the best I've ever had! The meat was tender and flavouring was spot on! We've tried the trout with the lobster and it was lovely too!
Busy Saturday nigh in a lovely spot - great atmosphere.
Meals were tasty, well cooked and presented.
But the service needs improvement.

Amazing steak restaurant in Brisbane.
I ate here approx 2 years ago and came back two weeks ago and I was still impressed.
We had Oysters Kilpatrick for entrees and these were nice and a decent size.
I had the Wagyu Rib Fillet cooked medium-well and it was done perfectly! (I normally have it medium but didn't quite feel like the extra pink this evening)
I also like that they cut a small circle portion of the meat to ensure its cooked perfectly.
My two male dinner partners had the T-Bone and raved about how well they were cooked and that they were tasty. They ate theirs medium.
The only thing that marked down the rating to 4.5 is we ordered some bread for three people as a starter and they charged us $5 per bread roll! I would expect that when you are paying so much for a steak that you wouldn't get charged fora bread roll....
I will eat here again but it is a bit pricey so it will be a special occasion place
We had the pleasure of experiencing the veil shoulder for two. Date night was defiantly a success.. Date 2 is now on the cards for certain thanks to this exquisite dinning experience
If you're looking for a great steak, this is by far the best in Brisbane. I have been here a few times and never been disappointed. Meat quality is excellent; service is outstanding; atmosphere is good. At lunch, always be prepared for 99% male diners; at dinner, approx 70% male diners.
Always a great experience. Service and food is top notch! Just be wary when the place is busy, sometimes service drops because of this. The dessert menu is delicious!
I'd phoned a few restaurants and none were even remotely interested in trying to accommodate a Saturday night table for 16 with only a few days notice. In contrast, the staff at Cha Cha Char were only too happy to try to find a suitable arrangement - a late dinner but a confirmed booking (later changed to an early dinner on Sunday to accommodate older guests).
The bar is a great place to enjoy a drink and chat before dinner, especially if you are accompanied by more than a few guests.
I, and all of my guests, thoroughly enjoyed our meals which were beautifully prepared and generous in portion sizes. Entrees arrived within a reasonable time and while the main meals took a little longer to serve than we expected, they were well worth the wait. The service was very efficient and the staff friendly. Thank you to all for a memorable evening. I'll certainly come back.
Very busy restaurant. Arrived on a Saturday night without a booking... Had a drink in the bar and before our drinks were finished we were taken to a table. The food is amazing and the service is good. Thank you for the lovely experience and meal.
Full blood wagyu does not let me down. You must try the Bloody Mary Shooters, the alcohol perfectly refreshes the taste of oyster.
Master Kobe Sirloin is another a-must order but cook in med is what you need otherewise.......
Dessert of Creme Brulee just let me down, however, overall dining experience is pleasant.
Great experience. I had the quail for an entree and trout for the main. My husband had the wagyu rump for his main. We were both very happy our meals. The quail entree was delicious. Great care was taken to accommodate for my dietary requirements.
Would go back!
Incredible. Excellent service as the staff have explicit attention to detail. I am so glad that I dined here over the weekend! Steak was perfect but I found it hard to chose a side as a lot of the sides are with seafood.
Brilliant evening. My husband and I had the most wonderful evening, the food was incredible, the wine was spot on and the service fantastic. We have eaten all over Australia and could not think of any other restaurant that has come close to this experience, thank you for giving us such a great evening.
Great Steak. My husband and I dined here for our wedding anniversary. Even though the restaurant was busy and conversation was hard to hear with so many other diners we found it a positive experience although we would choose a more intimate setting next time. The waitstaff were attentive, our entrees and main meals came out in a timely manner considering how busy it was. Our steaks were beautifully cooked and tasted great.
This Place is atleast an 85!. How Cha's only ranks a 69% approval rating on this site is incomprehensible! The service you will receive here is some of the best in Brisbane. On my last visit my partner and I started with the oysters which were fresh and really started the night off on a good note. For mains I had the Rib Eye on the Bone and my partner the Eye Fillet both ordered to medium-rare. The steaks were cooked immaculately, well seasoned matched perfectly with the Shaw and Smith Shiraz. We shared accompaniments of beans, mushrooms and onion rings which were all lovely.
Another great Cha's experience!
Me and my partner went to the restaurant for my birthday. We waited 55 minutes for our meal. The waiter finally showed up and told us that the kitchen had lost our order. However, they offered us complimentary entrees. So we ordered the oysters and calamari, which were both delicious. For dinner we ordered eye fillet and
Rump cap, the rump cap tasted so good however half way through the steak you could taste the chewy bits. The service was good, our male waitstaff has been exceptional. I would rate this restaurant 10 for the entree, 8 for the main and 9 for the service.
Steak, mmm, say no more. Not sure about the negative reviews here. My night was great. The steak was amazing. i guess sometimmes it's just hit and miss. Cooked perfect. Yes a bit expensive but what can you excpect with the location.
Great Steak!. Surprised by some of the negative reviews as my steak was great!!! Had the Ribe Eye which was fantastic...
Also had oysters for entree and they were great also....
I would go back anyway...
Perfect service. Perfect food. Totally enjoyable.
Always guaranteed a beautiful meal.
Can be a littley pricey.
Nice Steak. Enjoyed the steak, but the overall experience was a little lacking. The staff were pleasant, but didn't provide the service you'd expect for the prices they are demanding. I would return but not in a hurry. Quality service guys... it's important!
Excellent steak, great service and great atmosphere. It is what you pay for, a high class meal for a high class price.
Very Very Good Steak. Had great staff and a spectacular steak (the rump cap), was unbelievably tender and the mushroom sauce complimented it perfectly.
The price is extremely expensive and the environment can be a bit loud for what is expected to be a fancy restaurant. However well worth the splurge every once in a while.
Beautiful Food, Dining & Night. I went here with family for my 21st a few weeks ago and it was spectacular. We were originally considering ARIA (located directly across from Cha Cha Char), we have been there previously and it does have great food but we decided against it because of the 2 hour sitting limitation. We thought that we would rather enjoy our meal without constantly looking at the clock and being ushered out the door. We made the right choice ! Not only was the cuisine better than ARIA, it was alot more relaxed and enjoyable experience.
We started with champagne, and the lovely bartender was kind enough to make me a special cocktail he thought I would like, after not being able to decide from the cocktail menu. Great service !
We were shown to our table and started with oysters and calamari, and as a seafood enthusiast I can say that they were very fresh and tasty. For mains we had the duck, rump, lamb and fish. All of which were thoroughly enjoyed by my family. I cannot say a bad thing about the menu overall. It was quite pricey, but you get pay for in this case. The wine was quite up priced, we ordered a few bottles at over $60 each only to google later (as it was quite nice we wanted to buy some ourselves) only to find we could get it for $15 a bottle (even less if we ordered 6). We weren't tempted by the dessert menu and instead left to continue our night (perhaps if they added something caramel to the menu I may have stayed!).
Cha Cha Char is also a great location on Eagle Street Pier as it is situated directly under the Baravian Bier Cafe, so it was lovely to go upstairs for more drinks after dinner. Overall, however we had a fantastic experience and I definitely would go back for another special occasion.
Highly recommend.
Great steak restaurant. Turned up without a booking and sent to bar for a drink. The manager then sat us 20 mins later even though restaurant was only half full. Was worth the wait as service from our waiter Cedric was very good. The manager checked up on us 2 times during the night . Good touch. The spring rolls were good but not great. The steak was the best I ever had . The rump top I think. Would be back here next time I save up because it is not cheap but well worth it.
Open late!. I had dinner here with my husband and two friends on Anzac day this year. We arrived at about 9pm after attending an anzac day ceremony and we were ravenously hungry! Even so, I had no chance of finishing my meal - it was absolutely huge! I had the wagyu sausages which were delicious (unfortunately I could only eat half). Our waiter was very attentive and accomodating and the restaurant was quiet (though it was pretty late). I am always impressed when restaurants are open late as they can be hard to find in Brisbane! I am glad I didn't pay the bill though - the steak prices are somewhat scary!
Great steak. Restaurant is in desperate need for a renovation
At our arrival at ChaChaChar on Easter Monday we were greeted by one of the most rude, pretentious maitre'd I have yet encountered. However we did not let this ruin our experience, the waitstaff were very helpful, kind and friendly. I ordered the salt and pepper squid as an entree and what I experienced would have had to have been the best salt and pepper squid I have ever eaten. It was a perfect blend if all flavours and proportions. This was followed by an incredible sirloin steak with pepper sauce, which again was unsurpassed! Overall a great meal and service, which sadly, again, disturbed at the end by the rude and unhelpful maitre'd. Overall the meal and service created a memorable experience that I wish to one day repeat.
Steak!. Amazing steaks, honestly did not expect a steak to be able to taste as it was made to taste, I've tried some beauties in my time but these took the cake, well worth the bill in my opinion!

Pork belly was amazing!!!!!!!! Love it
Great Food... Poor service. Quality steaks... When they arrive! I focused more on the yummy meats but could really improve their service.
Went here for birthday dinner. Amazing steaks and lovely atmosphere. Staff very friendly. Expensive but worth it, great location.
Best Steak. Always a favourite, great steak!
I decided to try cha cha as I'd always wanted to try this restaurant. And what better occasion than my birthday. The steak is by far the best I have ever tasted. However the service was terrible, considering the type of establishment it was. We had nine people for dinner. Everyone got their meals on time, except for myself and a friend. The sides for all meals were delayed. People had finished their steaks before the sides made it to the table. Drinks were 15 minutes late. And what's worse. At the end when paying the waiter verbally abused my friend for no reason.. They did not even ask to see how our meals and overall experience was. All in all the only good thing was the steak and the company. The service needs to improve...
Yum!. Went here with my family, we ordered steaks and dessert. The steaks took nearly an hour to come out after we started with bread (which wasn't that great), but the steak was fortunately worth it. Each steak was cooked perfectly and was melt in your mouth. Dessert was deconstructed carrot cake and pear and rhubarb crumble - both delicious!
Nice place to go.. Went here after being dissapointed with Calamvale Hotel sevice, have to say "Big change" with quality of service and food when compared to Calamvale Hotel.
Our advice, "do go!" this place was only $4.00 more than Calamvale Hotel and it was definetly worth the drive to get there.
Service: "Fresh glass with your new beer sir"
Food: "How are your meals today?" = "Great thanks."
Advice: "Do Go :)"
Worth every cent! I came here last night with my boyfriend and was beyond impressed. The service we received was fantastic with the waiter even offering to take back my cocktail for a new one when he noticed I wasn't drinking it as it was to strong. As for the food the lamb rack was delicious and the steak cooked perfect. A great place for a special occasion, romantic dinner, or even just a top notch dining experience.
We stumbled across this place as we were looking to have dinner somewhere, they were able to accommodate 9 of us easily as they set up a booth table which I found difficut for the waiter to pick our dishes and serve drinks. The food was great, steaks cooked to perfection and well presented, desert was also very good but coffee was dissapointing, chai tea was too sweet, need to source out a better brand of chai and coffee . Service was very good although at times was a little difficult to grab their attention, but when they were serving u it was attentive, it is a little on the expensive side.
Awesome steaks - great cocktails. Came here on a business trip, and this was the place the locals recommended for good steak.
They were right, the Wagyu Sirloin was transcendent. Rich, lush - melts in your mouth - all the usual steak cliches that promise so much, but rarely deliver....this place does.
The wine list was epic in it's proportions, but I felt like a cocktail night - the Chai Alexander was a highlight
Recommend!
Good steak!. I had the Wagyu spring rolls for entree which lacked flavour. My husband had the squid for entree - nice but Beccofinos is definitely better!
Main meals. I had the orecchiette for main (was slightly dry but the flavour was there). My husband had the steak which he said was cooked beautifully. I guess if you are going to Cha Cha Char you should definitely order a steak!
We had the chocolate dessert - it was okay.
Buzzy Steak Central!. I love Cha Cha Char - I love the atmosphere, the food, the casual style and the location. It is noisy and buzzy, all of which add to the atmosphere in my opinion, but if it's a quiet intimate meal you're booking, perhaps you should look elsewhere. However, if delicious steak, good wine and a relaxed-but-still-upmarket feel are what you're after, you can't go past this hub.
This steak, far surpasses my last review. Tender, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Omg ... Sensational... Johnny was our waiter for the evening friendly and new both the food and wine menu well. Well done. We will be back
Great service and the food was delicious. It's very busy and noisy, not recommended if you're looking for a nice intimate restaraunt.
Second time was not as nice. My first visit to Cha Cha Char blew my mind away. Best steak I had ever eaten. Unfortunately my second visit, one on which I also decided to bring guests along, wasn't quite up to scratch. Still lovely, but not as good. A real shame. Consistency seems to be a big issue for a lot of places. If they can work that one out, they will be on to a winner.
Dare I say - Best steaks in town?. Being steak fanatics, we have searched high and low for a good steak. We have even searched in other cities for a good steak - Prime and Rockpool (and had the $120 steak) to name a couple, and nothing beats a Cha Cha Char steak. I've even brought Sydneyians here who are also steak fanatics and they can't find anything in comparison.
The waiting staff could be a bit more friendly and less pretentious but all is forgotten once the steak comes out. Always cooked perfectly and never fails on flavour. The beef jus is a perfect sauce to go with the steak - it enhances the beef flavour rather than hides it (e.g. Morrison's mushroom sauce....yes its nice but talk about instant powder). I also like how you can interchange the sides for each steak. My heart skipped a beat when I heard this place got flooded last year during the Brisbane Floods. Happy to say its fully recovered and back on its feet.
Expensive- but Yum!. Quality is amazing but you will pay for it.
Excellent. After just returning from Europe and dining at places such as The Ivy in London, Cha Cha Char certainly does not disappoint.
The service is excellent and attentive and warm.
The food is excellent. THe crab bisque is one of the best seafood soups I have ever had, there was so much food.
The pork belly was devine, the only fault with it was that I couldn't finish it all!
My partner had the waygu and it was tender and juicy.
Can't wait to return.
Confit duck to die for!. Amazing. Very pricey, but worth it considering the view and the quality of food!
Mooo.. The six of us all had different sized cattle for mains and a few bottles of Moss Wood to boot. Classic good aussie tucker, good service, well within budget and we've said we'll do it all again in 2 months.

If i was from here. id be a regular. Loved it thought it was great place for a steak with the boys
Seriously enjoyable. Good service, meals came promptly, even before we'd finished the bread with awesome red wine reduction dipping sauce. Fantastic steak and really pleasant waiter too.
Does it get any better?. Rump cap steak and a big bold Coonawarra red. The best of Australian produce in one sitting. Top quality gear and good service... all for a price of course. Simple stuff, done well. 5 stars!
Very Good. Excellent all rounder. If you are a steak lover you will be in heaven. The service is great and the food brilliant. Just don't eat with a known criminal, the steak knives are enough to scare anyone :)
Very Good. Probably a little on the high side in terms of value for money but the Wagyu steak is excellent. Other steaks are a little dissapointing and you would probably do better elsewhere if you cannot afford the Wagyu. Worth going to for a special occasion but dont expect a quiet evening as it can be a little on the noisy side. The last occasion I was there it was cash or EFT only and no credit cards were excepted which I thought was poor but this may have changed since.
Really good service, food was excellent, will be going there again for sure
Fantastic. We went here earlier in 2009 and loved it. The steak was fantastic, as were the wagu spring rolls.
The night we went it was the Rugby World Cup, which we didn't realise, meaning it was incredibly busy and noisy. The service was still fantastic though, and it certainly wouldn't put me off.
Can't wait to go again.
One of my fave Brisbane restaurants, great for that special occasion with your special someone. Service is always top knotch, the steaks are cooked to perfection and the wine list more than compliments the menu. Absolutely devine!
Good steaks, good wine list. Very pricy overall.
Most amazing steak restaurant in Qld. Never had a better steak and service is immpecable. Ask chris to choose your wine, you won't be disappointed.. You may even see a celebrity or two in there if you are lucky

Cha Cha Char lives up to all that I have heard. It's a nice restaurant, with great, attentive service and fantastic food.
I was really impressed with the list of entrees available and I was genuinely struggling to decide on the best starter, with the scallops and the beef tataki high on my list. After consulting with our waitress on the best option, she had no hesitation in recommending the Wagyu rump cap beef tataki with fried capers, soy, shallots and garlic with tonnato. Once the dish was placed in front of me I understood why, it was a spectacular looking dish, elegantly plated with wonderful colour and a smell that was simply amazing.
Overall, it was a great meal at Cha Cha Char. We know no that if we were to go again, we'd both be ordering the wagyu and recommending others do the same. I liked the sides too; I think they did a good job. Our waiter was nice but I wasn't keen on the other man who just stomped around with his nose in the air.
My last project in my previous role was in Brisbane. I spent a bit more than five months down under so expect a bit more than a couple posts talking about Brisvegas. I would have never guessed the food was so good in Brisbane, and if I have to decide in a highlight or speciality on the culinary sector is definitely the steakhouses
