I have never eaten food from Afghanistan and was quite interested in trying something different , the food and staff were 5 star , felt bad for not finishing , but there was just so much , thanks heaps , I will be back
Not knowing what to expect it was fresh, fast, plenty, very tasty and absolutely so yummy! We will be back for sure! Loved the stuffed flat breads, naans, the kebabs, salad, chicken dish and the really tasty spinach and eggplant dishes too. So good. Thanks tony for the introduction to this cuisine !
After months and months of rave from a colleague, I finally decided to try this place. I have never tried an Afghan food place before, so I really had no idea what I'm getting into. For a first time trying, the food experience was amazing!
Had the mix kababs, garlic naan and kabuli rice. The mix kababs was rock solid. It was a trip and a half for my taste buds. The seekh was my highlight, followed by the rice. The naan was...naan. Having changing to the new iPhone, I took some pictures. But unfortunately, photos cannot justify how delicious the food was! I hope someone invent a food taste capturing app within this century.
I can see why my colleague kept insisting on me trying this place now. Definately coming back!
Best food in Brisbane.....absolutely marvellous. The restaurant is well patronised and full of happy people. Sometimes the food comes in an unexpected order but it is always good and the staff, who work terribly hard, are very polite and helpful. Congratulations to the owners of this restaurant. Its great to see such a successful story from the little town of Bamiyan.
This is a great place for a relaxed night. We have been twice in the last couple of months, once with a group and once non date and on both occasions the food was brilliant. Afghan food is different, not as stodgy as Indian or as bland as Greek (personal opinion obviously). The service is not why you go here, or even the atmosphere, both get a pass mark only. Just delicious, different, tasty food.
Oh the food - absolutely lovely! Oh the service - oh dear, what a shame. The meats are tender, the breads and naan’s, fresh, the flavours are wonderful and diverse. The location is poor and you are crammed into a small space and will find that you feel you are sitting on top of other patrons - but who cares - it is packed for a reason - the food! Be ready to tackle the young staff - everyone appears to be from the same family with mum co-ordinating them in between kitchen and floor duties - if you can get her attention, you are away! The place is humming with activity and has a wonderful feel - the byo status is perfect, but ask for glasses when you are shown to your table and make sure you bring your own cooler bag to keep at the table. Don’t expect to stay late - they will turn the heating/air con off early to ensure everyone is gone by 9:30/10 - just go early, double check your booking, and enjoy the food and head out to bar or cafe afterwards.
One of my favourite places - a hidden gem. Amazing delicious food, large servings and very affordable. My favourite dish is the eggplant. I can't wait to go back!
We absolutely loved the food that was served to us here🤗 We ordered the beef dumplings, mixed kebabs, chicken karahi, garlic naan and some extra rice. And I have to say we were quite impressed with the flavours and the quality of the food. Special shout out to the naan and the dumplings, it’s s must try! Great value for money and we will be definitely back!😍😍😍
Absolutely in love with this little gem. Discovered it last year and haven’t stopped coming since and telling everyone I know about it. The flavours are just insane and so unique. My absolute favourite things to order are the traditional meatballs called kofta pallow. They’re so interesting, nothing like a normal meatball. They’ve got so many spices and that sauce is unbelievable. The mantu beef dumplings are also a favourite and of course you must order their naan. It’s the biggest naan I’ve seen. The mixed kababs were delicious but don’t make it to my favourites list. My vegetarian friends love their eggplant dish banjan boranee
Regular at this establishment and food is excellent and is family run. Produce is fresh and is reflected in the excellent food this place make. Will be back
Really good food and unique to Bamiyan with dishes like Beef Mantu - but pack your patience - chaotic service for both eat-in or take-away which is a turn off after many visits :(
Went here for dinner with the family. We made a reservation ahead of time, as it always seemed steadily full as compared to the restaurants nearby on the strip.
We ordered the mantu (beef dumplings), kachaloo perikee (potato flatbread), banjan boranee (fried eggplant) and lamb karahi. Beautifully cooked and delicious food for sharing. The karahi also came with salad and naan, which is massive!
Ambience was relaxed - could do with more traditional decorations, I think. Service was good.
A lovely, little restaurant serving no-fuss Afghani food for sharing.
