I have never eaten food from Afghanistan and was quite interested in trying something different , the food and staff were 5 star , felt bad for not finishing , but there was just so much , thanks heaps , I will be back
Not knowing what to expect it was fresh, fast, plenty, very tasty and absolutely so yummy! We will be back for sure! Loved the stuffed flat breads, naans, the kebabs, salad, chicken dish and the really tasty spinach and eggplant dishes too. So good. Thanks tony for the introduction to this cuisine !
Amazing food. So delicious. Authentic and interesting.
Service is super slow however. Order the second you can and prepare to wait. Yes, it's worth it - but still a bit frustrating.
First time we've experienced food from Afghanistan
Absolutely amazing food
The place was packed - will definitely be returning to try something different
Hopefully get to try the Perikee next time
Thank God for multiculturalism.
The food here is SENSATIONAL and very reasonably priced.
The mantus (beef dumplings) are a must have....they are like Afghan gyozas.
I had the lamb karahi. It was full of flavour and the lamb was fat and gristle free and super tender and the sauce was full of flavour and surprisingly light..yum. It came with a nice little bowl of fresh salad, a dressing that was delicious - similar to chimichurri - and a HUGE naan that would feed 3...but the karahi and dressing was so Google that I needed most of the naan to completely clean the bowl. The serving size was very generous BUT.....It was so good I could have eaten on other one.
I think I will go back for lunch today !!!
Picked up some takeaway tonight. Absolutely beautiful flavours. I think I have a new addiction.
Fabulous food. The breads and beef dumplings are amazing.Very generous portions and reasonably priced ,Will be back.for sure.
Something for all. the family
Love this place! Great food, really, really enjoyable flavours. A good spot for a family or friends gathering.
Fantastic food! So so good I can't move ! Couldnt stop eating! Will come back! Thank you.
We keep going back again and again as the food is absolutely delicious!
Great food great service. Cheap prices too and great ambience
Awesome food, been there 3 times and always consistant. Excellent home style cooking and very generous sizes and great value
Great food again last night. Great place. I will be back
Absolutely loved it. The food is amazing and the service was great. Will definitely be back.
Delicious . We have taken interstate visitors here and they love it. Beautiful authentic food.
A thriving business with consistently delicious traditional Afghan food. They really need more space to fit in more customers because it gets so busy on the weekends! It would also be good if they opened for lunch.
Outstanding food, friendly staff and great value. I'll definitely be coming back.
Authentic Afghani food. Best kabuli pulao. Must try the mantu( dumplings) and perikee( my fav is the potato). The Sydney brach is must bigger and can sit large groups.
Thank you! Local, scrumptious and always so fresh, tasty and delicious!
After months and months of rave from a colleague, I finally decided to try this place. I have never tried an Afghan food place before, so I really had no idea what I'm getting into. For a first time trying, the food experience was amazing!
Had the mix kababs, garlic naan and kabuli rice. The mix kababs was rock solid. It was a trip and a half for my taste buds. The seekh was my highlight, followed by the rice. The naan was...naan. Having changing to the new iPhone, I took some pictures. But unfortunately, photos cannot justify how delicious the food was! I hope someone invent a food taste capturing app within this century.
I can see why my colleague kept insisting on me trying this place now. Definately coming back!
Best food in Brisbane.....absolutely marvellous. The restaurant is well patronised and full of happy people. Sometimes the food comes in an unexpected order but it is always good and the staff, who work terribly hard, are very polite and helpful. Congratulations to the owners of this restaurant. Its great to see such a successful story from the little town of Bamiyan.
This is a great place for a relaxed night. We have been twice in the last couple of months, once with a group and once non date and on both occasions the food was brilliant. Afghan food is different, not as stodgy as Indian or as bland as Greek (personal opinion obviously). The service is not why you go here, or even the atmosphere, both get a pass mark only. Just delicious, different, tasty food.
Oh the food - absolutely lovely! Oh the service - oh dear, what a shame. The meats are tender, the breads and naan’s, fresh, the flavours are wonderful and diverse. The location is poor and you are crammed into a small space and will find that you feel you are sitting on top of other patrons - but who cares - it is packed for a reason - the food! Be ready to tackle the young staff - everyone appears to be from the same family with mum co-ordinating them in between kitchen and floor duties - if you can get her attention, you are away! The place is humming with activity and has a wonderful feel - the byo status is perfect, but ask for glasses when you are shown to your table and make sure you bring your own cooler bag to keep at the table. Don’t expect to stay late - they will turn the heating/air con off early to ensure everyone is gone by 9:30/10 - just go early, double check your booking, and enjoy the food and head out to bar or cafe afterwards.
One of my favourite places - a hidden gem. Amazing delicious food, large servings and very affordable. My favourite dish is the eggplant. I can't wait to go back!
We absolutely loved the food that was served to us here🤗 We ordered the beef dumplings, mixed kebabs, chicken karahi, garlic naan and some extra rice. And I have to say we were quite impressed with the flavours and the quality of the food. Special shout out to the naan and the dumplings, it’s s must try! Great value for money and we will be definitely back!😍😍😍
Absolutely in love with this little gem. Discovered it last year and haven’t stopped coming since and telling everyone I know about it. The flavours are just insane and so unique. My absolute favourite things to order are the traditional meatballs called kofta pallow. They’re so interesting, nothing like a normal meatball. They’ve got so many spices and that sauce is unbelievable. The mantu beef dumplings are also a favourite and of course you must order their naan. It’s the biggest naan I’ve seen. The mixed kababs were delicious but don’t make it to my favourites list. My vegetarian friends love their eggplant dish banjan boranee
Regular at this establishment and food is excellent and is family run. Produce is fresh and is reflected in the excellent food this place make. Will be back
Really good food and unique to Bamiyan with dishes like Beef Mantu - but pack your patience - chaotic service for both eat-in or take-away which is a turn off after many visits :(
Went here for dinner with the family. We made a reservation ahead of time, as it always seemed steadily full as compared to the restaurants nearby on the strip.
We ordered the mantu (beef dumplings), kachaloo perikee (potato flatbread), banjan boranee (fried eggplant) and lamb karahi. Beautifully cooked and delicious food for sharing. The karahi also came with salad and naan, which is massive!
Ambience was relaxed - could do with more traditional decorations, I think. Service was good.
A lovely, little restaurant serving no-fuss Afghani food for sharing.
Enjoyed a great meal here on Saturday . Mixed Kebab plate and Lamb Kahiri were delicious served with extra large Naan and Afghani pickle side. 3 adults were fed to the eyeballs all for under $60.00 Fantastic
We went to Bamiyan last Sunday night after our Afghan Uber driver advised us to. Well, what a great tip! Hidden gem really.
The food is amazing and, even if the place was very busy, we've been well looked after by our waitress and the (we think) owner of the restaurant ;-). Everything was fresh, home-made and tasty. And the portions are huge !
Definitely want to go back, even if it would be easier if we weren't living down in Melbourne ;-).
This place is fantastic. Very casual atmosphere. Have eaten here twice in the last few weeks and have also got take out once before. Wonderful and delicious food everytime! The dumplings are too good. Everything I have tried has been great. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend!
Afghan cuisine is absolutely incredible and highly underrated. Recommend the mantu (spiced meat dumplings) and the charcoal kababs with the fresh bread which is amazing. The kabuli palau was very good but not as authentic as i would have liked. the owners need to put more carrots, slivered almonds and slowly tenderised lamb shanks in the palau. Still recommend it as it is Afghanistans national dish and a favourite. Overall, a fantastic dining experience and a lively atmosphere. Highly recommend
The wait is long and only seems worse due to the waitressing which could be improved with better communication. That aside the meals are large, well priced and taste delicious.
My second visit to this tasty local! Food is very flavoursome, portions are generous and food is reasonably priced. My favourite thing is the insanely big naan bread: for it's size, fluffy texture and great taste! Recommend!
amazing food. the waitress don't look very clean, the place is not so tidy and is very simple. but the food is amazing, the curries are very good and also the grill mix is really good.
Food was good in here, big portion and tasty. it's better to book a table before you go. Service was quite slow but nice. We were waiting for almost 25mins to get order done.
Best tasting kebabs in Brisneyland
The rice is just wow!
A must is the tikka and chicken kebab
The service might be a little slow sometimes, the food is worth the trip.
Enjoy your experience

Succulent kebabs.
We decided to try some dishes which we don't usually.
Went with the baingan bharta and boy, we weren't disappointed with our choice. The only downside I could think of was that there were no beverages that caught my eye such as mango lassis, my favourite!
This place is a little gem. The food so raw and cultured. You can taste the love that has been Put into it. It's constantly packed and rightly so. Service can be slow I guess cause it's so busy. But the staff are super friendly.
Absolutely love this place. Have eaten here three times in the last three weeks since discovering it. Their food is absolutely delicious, real wholesome home made cooking at its best. So many things you must try. Mantu Beef Dumplings, all of the flat breads especially the Kachaloo Perikee. The Banjan Boranee (eggplant dish) is my absolute favorite!!! I promise you won't be disappointed!!!
Awesome food ...very authentic and yummy food. I would recommend anyone who wants to try a fusion of middle eastern and Indian food ...do make reservation on weekends as it gets busy.
Absolutely delicious. The curries are amazing and come with all the sides you could want. Everything else on the menu is worth trying too. Ambiance and service is decent at best, but with food like this it doesn't matter. Will keep coming back.
Just finished a lovely (and hearty) meal here. All the dishes were delicious, with the lamb sabzi pallaw a particular standout. The kebab dishes were very tender, gently spiced (mild enough that my four year old enjoyed them but not bland at all) and the bread was great too, we actually have bought a couple extra to have as breakfast tomorrow. The pricing was very reasonable and the service good considering it was busy.
I'd definitely come back.
Suburban Gem!
We came back to this restaurant to find that they had moved next door so the restaurant is a little bigger. It's still very noisy and busy and you have to wait a while for your food to arrive if you go on a Friday or Saturday night - but when it does come, the food is magnificent. We loved our traditional Afghani tikka kababs (made with succulent lamb backstrap pieces), sabzi (spinach) and the mantu (beef dumplings) are always our favourite. It's really reasonably priced too and BYO is a plus.

Fantastic Food! The food at this small suburban restaurant is delicious - Afghan cuisine is a kind of fusion of Indian and Middle Eastern food. We've introduced several friends to this restaurant and they all love it too. The mantu (beef dumplings) are amazing, the banjan boranee (eggplant dish), kebabs, curries and naan are delicious. Make sure you book if you go there on a Friday or Saturday night.
When we arrived we were surprised by how packed this little Afghani restaurant in the suburbs was. Service was slow, but this may be due to the number of customers. After trying their food, we could see why so many people were there - traditional Afghani dishes full of flavour and so nourishing. I recommend the Beef Sabzi with the afghan bread. Have been recommending this restaurant to many friends and family.
A great local afghani restaurant with a lot of tasty options. The curries and very flavoursome without being too rich, the portion sizes are also really generous.
What a feast!. All food was excellent including presentation, friendly staff and exciting flavors. Must try the mantu (beef dumplings with more flavors). This is a comment from a Turk who is hard to please :-) Variety of vegetarian options. Will be back with more people and need bigger table.
For kebabs lover!. Amazing food! Simply love it. Mixed kebabs is perfect. Try it with nan
Fantastic!. Four of us turned up on a very busy Saturday night. The waitresses was excellent, seating us promptly and then spending time suggesting a suitable selection of food. The meals came out quickly and were really good. Some subtle flavours , with just enough 'kick' to make them interesting and different from a Thai/Indian meal. The eggplant curry was superb! Great value, diverse menu, we will definitely be returning
Yum and yum We now have bee.... Yum and yum
We now have been there 5 times such good value and tasty . Service can be hit and miss but worth the wait . Enjoy your wine byo . Filled breads great and eggplant dish yum yum . Definitely a favourite
We went on a busy night, Staff were a little rattled as one of the chefs was catering for a function as well and did wait BUT the food was Delicious. Our Second time will come again.
Nice Afghani food. Ordered takeout here today, had the Chicken Kabab and partner had the Dumplings. The food was very fresh, even the little salad that came with my meal was crunchy and colourful. The chicken that I had was juicy, flavourful and nicely charred just how I like it. The rice is actually worth mentioning too as it was fresh and delicious. The service at the restaurant was good, friendly lady that served me. I can't think of even any semi negatives, maybe just that we were told it was going to be a 15 minute wait but it was more like 30 minutes, but turned out to be well worth the wait. While I was waiting I was told by another customer that the Chicken Korma is delicious, so that's what I'll try next time.
Fantastic Food..!!. Just awesome..!! Fantastic kebabs and the accompaniments. Could not fault a single thing,
1. Service was awesome - inspite being super busy.
2. cheerful and happy staff.. - makes a world of a difference.
3. Jst plain awesome foood with flavours.
4. Will be back.
5 . Will be back.
6. Will be back.....
The Beef Dumplings. Steamed dumplings served with a chick pea curry sauce, gentle morsels with a tantalizing taste... i'm going back for more.
Delicious and authentic dining experience. My husband and I dined at Bamiyan on Saturday night and will definitely be going back with our three children. The dishes were superb and clearly carefully prepared. The flavours were amazing - it was so nice to experience these fresh new dishes - unlike anything we have eaten before - it is clearly very authentic cuisine. It was also so reasonably priced with generous servings. The owners and staff were delightful - very friendly and clearly proud of their food. This restaurant deserves to do very well. Yum, yum!!!
Tikka Kababs and Chicken Karahi. The fresh bread was sensational.
Gorgeous welcome nibbles and tea. Cute atmosphere, lovely service, excellent prices and delicious food. A great dining experience.
