Review Lady Marmalade Cafe - Brisbane

Catherine Sweeney
We visited just before the kitchen closed (at 1:30 ) on a Thursday - I wish we’d gotten there earlier Very nice open space with clean interior and stunning feature mural of a magnolia on the wall Really amazing piece of art I had the most delicious orange almond cake ( gluten free ) and a good hot coffee My friends had bacon and egg burgers which hit the spot. Good service and extremely quick

WOW, what a great lil find. The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced, while the service was fabulous. Thank Goodness we booked. I had the hash brown and my sister had the sweet pancakes, which was not as sweet as it looks. On point !!

Fantastic friendly service. Pancakes are my favourite breakfast treat - and the pancakes here didn't disappoint. I couldn't eat all the fairy floss..... but it looked great! Service was a little slow on the day we visited - but the wait was certainly worth it. Coffee was great too.

A very busy cafe in town. Friendly staff and service. Dog friendly cafe. Kids ordered egg Benny and they loved it. Hubby and I ordered burgers. Honestly, good presentation in general but burger was a little bit too sweet for me.

We stumbled upon this area and found this little cafe. A cute cafe that looks like family-run and appears to be well received by the neighbours. Menu had some twist. Good service.

Food was good especially chips. But we had to wait more than 20mins to order. The food all came out at different times with the extra sides coming out even later than the mains.

Perfect place for dining in with family. It’s cosy place that you want to be. There is plenty of space and the food was really good as it looks!

I've been wanting to go here for the longest time What took me so long? So today it was a breakfast burger and a genuine Stone's ginger beer The burger had loads of bacon, a fried egg and a hash brown with excellent bbq sauce and a brioche bun The service was attentive, friendly and intelligent Next time it will be the Middle Eastern breakfast plate.i suspect that might be 5 stars. To add to the fun there was a police chase of a crazy driver who then abandoned their car and ran thru the kitchen and out the customer entrance before being nicked and handcuffed. I am pleased to say there was no entertainment surcharge.

Everything on the menu at Lady Marmalade is amazing! Service is friendly and efficient. Food is incredible!

LM’s burgers are all heavenly, and their deliver-to-car service (if you pre-pay) is fantastic during these times of isolation. The food here just gets better and better. Thanks to the LM team for their excellent service and all the deliciousness.<br/><br/>Update: For dinner we got the heat and serve family sized slow cook pork/mac and cheese combo. Easily enough for four hungry adults. It was so good I nearly died. The end. Get some.

Delicious dinner. So full of flavour!

Have not been back here over a year so made a visit this morning.<br/>It was not surprised to see so many diners there even it was early 7:00pm.<br/>Perused the menu and found that they serve “Saigon Coffee” so gave it a go with my latest default brekkie “poached eggs with smoked salmon.<br/>Coffee came with a row of a glasses of iced water and two jugs of double shot coffee and condensed milk respectively. I tipped the coffee in the iced water and poured the condensed milk up to my level of sweetness that I liked. I love this idea very much.<br/>Savoury dish came the next. It came with a stack of smoked salmon and two nicely prepared poached eggs with herbs on top of it that accompanied with tomato relish. Poached eggs were both perfectly done and I was very satisfied with the generous amount of smoked salmon on the dish.<br/>It was a perfect brekkie!👍😋👍<br/><br/>Previous visits: Aug 14, 2015 Rating 3.5/5; Sep 21, 2018
Mood For Good Food
Went here with a high school buddy (known each other from yeeears ago) we heard about lady Marmalade Cafe from the high reviews on Zomato and did not disappoint! The drinks where fresh and the food was insanely yummy. Friend got the pancakes and I got the potato croquettes (subbed the egg for Bacon) and it was creamy and packed with buttery garlic goodness however not heavy at all. It was like the potato was whipped to perfection and the outside was just the right crispness to match. Friend enjoyed the pancakes saying they were light and fluffy (as pancakes should be!) he wasn’t keen on the fairy floss though - I see lately it seems to be a trend. However he said the fruit cream balanced out the sweetness. Only thing was no aircon inside and there was 100000 people... I think too crowded and hot however, I do get why! Gonna go back and try the coffee next time :D
Zomato
Friendly, efficient staff, coffee came quick, food came quick, was great quality and tasted fantastic. Atmosphere inside is awesome as well (best to avoid sitting outside as traffic is frequent and noisey).

That was the best choice I have never made~Dinner for today was perfect. I enjoyed chatting with my friends so much. After having delicious dinner, we all plan to have brunch here next time to enjoy different dishes.
I Make Food Into Nards
Brisbane’s brunch game has stepped up in the recent years and Lady Marmalade is proof. I cannot imagine going back to the old days (LOL, like 2009), when all that was on offer for brunch was either 1. Bacon and eggs 2. Pancakes 3. Smashed avo on toast 4. Muesli. Nowadays the menus are full of weird and wonderful, great twists on classic dishes, and just perfected for the sever omg brunch connoisseur.<br/><br/>We had blueberry pancakes with pecans, maple syrup, and bacon. It was fantastic, I normally hate pancakes but that dish almost converted me. <br/>Also ordered Mexican beef with guacamole, and a fried egg served on a waffle (yup a waffle). Of course I ordered this cause it was served with chilli‘s and sounded weird. But holey moley it was delicious, perfect portion, perfect ratio. <br/><br/>We loved the experience and it’s now ranked very high on our brunch bucket list.

I visited the cafe which is at a walk distance from Buranda station. We ordered shoe string french fries, which was delicious. It had truffle oil and parmesan cheese in it that made the simple fries super delicious. Then we ordered for Twice baked cheese soufflé( veg) that was served with pumpkin puree, which we had for the very first time in our life and it was good. Lastly in dessert we ordered doughnut waffle with burnt caramel icecream. It was super super delicious and a must try would say. The flavour of espresso syrup with cinnamon sugar sprinkled on waffle was so so yummy.

Great place for a weekend brunch.. The ambience is great, good service and the options on the menu are great. We had the Lm gringo waffle, which was really good, as well as the confit duck which was amazing, the duck was really well cooked and came of the bone easily. Also the korean chiken burger was really good. Cant wait to get back and try all the other things on the menu. The coffee was amazing too!!

Love this place, while it does get busy that is understandable when their coffee is great, the food is worth dining into and the staff are friendly, I have a writer friend who loves to come here and do some writing. I would recommend this place for sure.

On my past two weekend visits I have been unable to get a table. Driving past today, after lunching at Ku-O, I see vacant tables and I decide to drop in for coffee and dessert. <br/><br/>I did not fancy any of the desserts on the Sweets Board so I settled for a large Cafe Latte. The coffee looks strong for a double shot. Hot, strong and flavourful this is a very good coffee, rating 4.5! Thank you guys!

I had the absolute pleasure of heading in to Lady Marmalade in Stones Corner to try out their recently launched summer dinner menu. I had heard good things and it certainly didn’t disappoint! There were something’s I was disappointed about though, more on those at the end. I always like to take recommendations of the best dishes from the team and Sonja (one of the owners) was more than happy to share! You might remember her from my last visit.

Recently came along to Lady Marmalade for a friend's 30th birthday dinner, my better half and I had a great night. The staff were lovely and really took care of everyone. The food was absolutely delicious! Those were the best tasting fries I've had and the twice baked cheese souffle with lamb shank ragu was incredible. I can't wait to try their other dishes in the future. Thanks for the wonderful time!

We really enjoyed the food at Lady Marmalade. The Zatar spiced eggs were delicious! Cafe also has a nice vibe and coffee was good. Will be back!

A great local cafe in the Stones Corner area with an interesting menu with a twist. The space was big & open, bright & quite relax, perfect for a girls catch up over some lunch. The serving sizes definitely won't leave you hungry. My LM Gringo waffle had a Mexican flavour, it was very heavy duty with beef, chorizo, cheese, avocado, black beans salsa, sour cream & topped with a fried egg. All of the different elements magically just works together. My friend got the waffle on the special list, the confit duck with chilli cornbread. Also topped with a fried egg, it was served with sweet maple & chilli sauce, so an interesting bland of sweet & savoury. My other friend also enjoyed her soufflé, quite fluffy. The service were friendly, we were taking our time chatting over coffees, not realising they were ready to close, but they didn't try to hurry us out or make it really obvious they were packing up. Definitely worth a return visit.

I love visiting Stones Corner, particularly on a Saturday morning. Little known fact about me is that I am an avid op-shopper, so enjoy wandering around those in the neighbourhood. We were very excited to be invited to visit Lady Marmalade – every time we drive past Stones Corner it is packed to the rafters, which is normally a good sign!
_kreativecakes
Unique menu but done perfectly. Cauliflower rice with poached eggs was light but filling. Hubby had the mince on waffle toast. He loved it. Their coffee was good too.
Mildred
Nice big venue in renovated old building, service is professional and capable. Breakfast was solid and good quality, not overly exciting but a lot better than average.
Sarah Vera
Delicious food, great service, good pricing & a lovely atmosphere. I love that you can split the bill as well. I had pancakes with maple syrup, lemon curd, strawberries, cream, ice cream & fairy floss.

This is hands down the best breakfast/lunch spot in Stones Corner. <br/><br/>Often there is a wait on weekends, but suck it up because it’s worth it.<br/><br/>The menu is constantly changing. I eat here all the time and I’ve never had a dud meal.<br/><br/>The cafe is beautifully decorated. <br/><br/>Phenomenal coffee. <br/><br/>☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️

I didn’t choose the baby chino life, the baby chino life chose me. And on this day, a day of firsts, the baby chino life chose my daughter. She loved it. I still think they’re silly. But this meal was always going to remain in the memory bank, regardless. Thankfully, the rest of the dishes added to the experience. The mushroom/lentil burger was a revelation, with better texture than most beef patties. The fritters were fresh, filling, with just the right hit of citrus. For $10, the kids bacon and eggs is overpriced, and a Pacific Ale is not a Twisted Palms (though I didn’t have the heart to say anything). However, the servers were helpful and all smiles, and we left feeling pretty good about things.
Laura
Love this place! Quite loud inside but good service and tasty food. Had the savoury mince waffles which are really yum. Would definitely recommend :)

Brunched here today with my lover. We shared 2 dishes: poached eggs w wild mushrooms and house-made basil hollandaise, (like eggs Benedict, which I love, only more interesting); and a surprising, inspired interpretation of french toast made w raisin-brioche, served w startling pink rose-flavoured fairy floss, rhubarb compote, and ice cream.<br/>But you can't have these culinary marvels bc the menu is changing this week.<br/>We'll be back to find out where the chef's imagination will take us next.
Espresso&Matcha
Saturday mornings are always a good time for brunch. In fact, these days, there is very little that would be worth me getting up early in the morning for other than a good brunch. I was especially excited last week as the friend I was meeting suggested we check out the very famous and very popular Lady Marmalade at Stones Corner. Being as excited as I was, of course I wasn't able to sleep well the night before, my mind being filled with fantasies of bacon and eggs, which of course meant that I overslept the morning after and ran late. Thankfully my companion arrived early and waited to secure a table for us, resulting in my rushing in and forgetting to take an outside shot.

Great staff - service was amazing. Awesome juices and the food is next level! A big 5 from me. Definitely taking friends here in the future.

Saturday morning at 11am, it’s the weekend and I’ve been looking forward to trying LM all week. I’ve heard good things from friends and it certainly seemed as though everyone in Greenslopes had heard the same! We have walked in to an absolute hive of activity and no wonder it is so popular. The food certainly lived up to the hype. We ordered the LM Gringo waffles & sweet potato and butternut pumpkin bowl (add halloumi). The latter was the highlight for me. Warm and toasty with sprinkles of sharp feta cheese made the dish memorable and left me wanting more. The waffle was tasty, well presented and very original. Personally, I would have liked a lemon wedge to add acidity to the dish (I should have asked) and for the waffle to be crunchier but that’s just my own preference. Overall great food and prompt service on a bustling Saturday morning brunch service. Would give 4.5 stars but the mobile but the mobile app won’t let me so 5 it is!

Amazing food and great service. Staff were very accommodating when it came to food allergy and preparation requirements aswell (allergies to pork and shellfish products so requested chefs change gloves when preparing our orders). Food came out pretty fast too. Will definitely be coming back again!

Great cafe, super friendly staff, great options for all dietary requirements. Amazing food made fresh to order. Very busy. My favourite from all day breakfast menu is the Gringo and also Eggs Bennie and from lunch the cheese burger, fish tacos or the pork belly sliders. Best coffee in Brisbane.
Jane
Dined at this cafe for a Sunday lunch. Very busy so a short wait for a table which was fine. Ordered an extra hot coffee and it was just warm.<br/>Had the fish tacos which were delicious. <br/>Staff were friendly. <br/>My only issue was the limited lunch menu. Many breakfast options but for lunch only one sandwich on the menu which was corned beef on rye. No paninis, toasted turkish bread, etc. on weekends.<br/>No quiche or savoury tarts, disappointing choice for a cafe.
Vicki Haspels
Great location, great food, great service. What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday for breakfast. Everything was perfect and I felt valued as a customer. Highly recommended.

Lady Marmalade has a nice setting and good with being children freindly. the food is nicely presented - quite simple and plain tho. Parking os a bit of an issue - not real accessible in this respect

Been breakfasting here for years. Food outstanding, value for money and awesome coffee. Staff are always friendly and smiling, know my name and my coffee order which I like a lot! Great coffee. Very busy just chill and enjoy the experience. Favourites Gringo, fritters, Biggie Carnivore. Top 5 Breakies in Brisbane!

Recently we visited Lady Marmalade for weekday brekky. The staff were friendly and accomodating, and the food was great. The decor is very nice and prices are okay. Probably be back soon.

Enjoyed a lovely late lunch on during my short trip from Adelaide to Brisbane, tried the avocado on rye and added a poached egg. Was very tasty and I loved the kick that the feta added to the dish. Also the coffee was very good!

We came here on a Friday night to check out the tapas scene. Their menu changes/varies slightly, depending on the produce. The night we came there were sharing plates (antipasto), meatballs, pumpkin aranchini balls and pizzas.<br/><br/>We tried the antipasto plate and the pizzas. I was so happy that there was real bread on the table (and yes they will bring you extra bread!). Everything was delicious. The pizzas were my absolute favourite. They are made fresh to order which is great for allergies. The fig and truffle honey was divine. I didn't get any photos of the pizzas unfortunately because they all disappeared once they hit the table.<br/><br/>Love how attentive the staff are and the atmosphere is very chilled (they even have light dimmers 😁).<br/><br/>If taking a group I'd recommend reserving a table. Look forward to coming back.

We have been here previously before the new reno, so after a big morning decided to visit. Double the space and with a modern new interior everything was new and plenty of people inside. it was busy. plenty of street parking, with seating inside and out.<br/><br/>We were greeted and waited until a table was available, customer service was Great, keep telling us table shortly. Not too long we had a table inside, with a toddler chair.<br/><br/>Service staff friendly and took our coffee order straight away, latte all around even a chai for the little one. menus looked good and still had food from previous menu.<br/><br/>We ordered the big carnivore and eggs benny, with a side of fries. coffees as usual came out promptly and it was a nice drinkable cup. Not too hot not too cold, just right.<br/><br/>What felt like an eternity, it was busy maybe 30 mins our meals arrived. everything was balanced and we enjoyed our meals, reasonable pricing for what you get.

What an excellent cafe, the taste is absolutely amazing, refreshing and highly satisfying. One of the top brunch locations in Brisbane. <br/>Staff here are friendly and provides great service. <br/>Thank you for providing such wonderful food and service to the community.

Friendly service, great ambience, and delicious food. There is a wide range of menu options available, making it easy to please everyone. This is my new favourite brunch spot!

OMG that place is a gem!!!! Guys the service, the meal and the team made the whole experience WONDERFUL:) The servings were generous, the coffee great and the smile of the staff brighten our day... so thanks guys
Ryan
Great service, great food. The staff here have sense of pride about their cafe. Excellent hot drinks, even prepared to prepare something not on the menu. They are living in the customers world. 😁

Went here for a weekday breakfast. This was the first time I have returned since it's renovations, noting the classy interior design and much bigger space. However, more importantly, the food remains top-quality.<br/><br/>We ordered coffees, as well as Avocado on Toasted Rye Cob (additional poached egg), Eggs Benny with ham, and the Cauliflower Rice.<br/>The coffee was great - smooth and hot. The cauliflower rice was innovative - textural in a way reminiscent of quinoa, with nice mixed Asian flavours via the kim chi and nori.<br/>My companions both agreed that their avocado on toast and eggs benny were good as well, with perfectly poached eggs.<br/><br/>Friendly and efficient service. Casual ambience - perfect for brunch dates or catch ups. Licensed venue. Reasonable prices.<br/><br/>Overall, a trendy cafe on Stones Corner with good food and coffee.
Always Hungry
I had the corn, zucchini and halloumi fritters with tomato salsa and it was delicious.<br/>Can't remember what the others on my table had but they were all happy too.<br/>The staff were great too and it was a cute looking café.
Captainshaft
The food and coffee here is simply fantastic. Had the LA Gringo (mince and fried egg). The food was tasty and the coffee is nicely flavoured to go with food.<br/><br/>Overall it was excellent!!<br/>

Lady Marmalade Cafe is a Stone’s Corner stalwart that has recently (well, sort of recently) undergone a revamp. A bit like the Pretty Woman transformation, it has been spruced up and styled up, going from quirky retro to French classic. A view of the service counter, sitting between what is now two rooms’ worth of seating area.
Katrina Salmon
Great atmosphere. Busy venue. Great service. Very accommodating. Menu had plenty of options for all dietary requirements. Will be back! Food was delish!!!!
Karen Gillow
Gorgeous cafe with fantastic food and really good coffee. We went for lunch, so a little quieter than it is for breakfast.  Efficient, friendly and helpful service.  We'll be back!
Matt
My favorite new brekky place! The food, service, coffee and atmosphere of lady marmalade is excellent! Been here three weekends in a row for brunch and keen to come back for lunch or dinner too! Have to give a big thank you to the manager who always makes our time there amazing! Highly recommend this place any time!!
The Other Jenners
This is the first time we've ventured to the newly renovated Lady Marmalade Café. Talk about stunning! Not only has the café practically tripled in size, but the everything from the tableware to the staff uniforms have had a complete overhaul. The once rustic LM Café is now certified classy! We came here on a busy Sunday morning but were seated within a few minutes. The menu offers traditional dishes as well as plenty of interesting options (clearly the new chef is an Ottolenghi fan). We opted for the classic brekky burger and beans with pulled pork. While I wished there was a little more pork in my dish for the extra $3, the depth of flavours were amazing. We were also impressed with the size of the ice coffee - served in a tall glass (no mason jars here thank-you very much!). Another thing we liked were the updates on our wait time, which was hardly long at all. The only thing we were disappointed in was that we hadn't visited sooner. We will be back again soon :)

Used to frequent this establishment on the regular, but this was my first time back here since the extension and refurbishment. The new owners have revitalized the space making it more accessible to all. The new menu is welcome addition also.

Visited LM on this rainy Sunday morning after seeing that it was renovated. Arriving around 11am, it was packed but we were lucky to find a table outside (so cold and windy though 😭). I’m sure it would be so nice on a sunny day. We ordered the pink pop juice, LM gringo on sourdough and the butternut pumpkin and cheese pastry. The drink came out super fast but it was very sweet, tasted like pineapple juice instead of freshly juiced pineapple. The food came out around half an hour later and portions were smaller than I expected. The flavours were great. Overall I may come back to try more drinks but not sure about the food!

Groovy yummy hearty breakky dishes. Funky little place to meet for Sunday brunch. Lots of local parking. It's right at the start of Stones Corner outbound. Get there early, I think they still dont take bookings..
Danelle Lim Yun
Came here hoping to try the LM Gringo when we were arrived, only to be told that it was no longer available. We ordered the soft snapper taco and butternut pumpkin with 3 cheese tart tartin. The food was amazing. I loved the decor of the place as well. However, the service was rather brusque and puts me off going back to try the other dishes on the menu
Sarah James
Lovely employees, friendly warm atmosphere, great coffee and awesome food options. The vegan mint slice was so delicious it tasted almost like something naughty and not healthy. Recommending this place to all my friends!
Foodie Lover
The new LM is bigger, airy and more French cafe than Stones Corner grunge. I love the refurbishments and the menu still has some old faves plus some new tasty options. LM has always had a strong food game and this has not changed. Coffee is ok but my flate white could have been hotter. I'm excited at the prospect of LM opening evenings for dinner.<br/>_______________<br/><br/>Enjoyed a wonderful dinner tonight at Lady Marmalade. The confit duck was succulent and generously positioned. The chicken was flavoursome and the accompanying artichoke and polenta was well matched with flavours that made for a very tasty and satisfying dinner. The food and service was high quality. A very enjoyable evening.
Felicia
Lady Marmalade is all different now on the outside and inside. The menu is the one on here though. Gone are the quirky tables and chairs and the blankets and the plastic animals. The food was a bit slow to come out but they apologised and the service was friendly. The banana bread was amazing, so thick and better than average banana bread. The eggs on toast were also delicious and very filling even though it looked a small amount on the plate. I always have to have hot chili sauce on eggs and they got me some. The smoothie was very nice but over way too soon as always seems to be the case. There was a strong aroma of scented magnolia candles which I'm not sure is right for a cafe. They have table service now and no food cabinets.
Jasmyin.tay
We did not know sweet potato hash could be so heavenly, pity it was a special the day we went. If they made it a regular, I'd be going more often. Really full in the morning, usually there is a wait for a table. Friendly staff!
Chantelle Hiley
Lovely experience at this cute cafe. My husband and I met another couple for lunch on a Saturday and we easily seated ourselves and pondered what to eat from the delicious all day menu. I chose the special which was corn pea frittered topped with an amazing goats cheese sauce - yum! This place is dog friendly and has rugs on the chairs for when you get cold.
Imco
Lady Marmalade, you have been on my 'bookmarked to-go' list for the past two weeks. This morning, I finally managed to find a park and I couldn't wait to see what you've got to offer! 🙌🏻 <br/><br/>9:30am was my arrival time - I see diners enjoying their morning coffee fix as well as devouring into their breaky. I realised the dish I was prepared to order was not on the menu, assuming they may have changed some of their dishes, I went with their Green Eggs and Ham as well as a Mocha Coffee. <br/><br/>Coffee was served hot and it was just what I needed for the cool morning. My breakfast came around 10-15mins later smoking hot. The pesto scrambled eggs were really good! I really appreciated the balance between the eggs and pesto (Looks like avo but it ain't ☝🏻) Bacon wasn't over cooked, just right! Roasted Tomatoes are always nice, and lastly the Buttery Turkish Toast was just how I'd like it, slightly toasted 👌🏻<br/><br/>Will be back for sure :)<br/><br/>Thank you for a nice morning Lady Marmalade!<br/>

Having breakfast here today and very underwhelmed. <br/><br/>Staff seem very friendly, food sounds inviting. <br/>Lots of positive reviews. <br/><br/>I ordered the herbivore brekkie and got <br/>Beans - flavor good, but very dry and clearly cooked in advance. <br/>Eggs- 60/60 which were quite nice. <br/>Toast - sourdough, a little under toasted but still nice. <br/>Some potato slice thing (clearly cooked in advance and dry and crumbly. <br/>Roasted tomato - dry and cooked in advance. <br/>Haloumi - lovely as it was cooked fresh. <br/>Avocado - did not enjoy the flavor at all. <br/><br/>So only decent thing on a meal that costs over $20 was two cooked eggs and a piece of haloumi. <br/><br/>A positive point was my earl grey tea was nice and drinkable. <br/><br/>Very disappointing experience for almost $30. <br/>
Alex McLean
Lady Marmalade was lovely. They had a great range of breakfast options. The staff were super lovely. They forgot my friends iced chai but when they realised they were extremely apologetic and brought out a complementary brownie. Will definitely be coming back to try more of the breakfast menu<br/>
IJBP
Loved the menu very vegetarian friendly and absolutely delicious! Lovely staff and deco. Only down was the busy road but that can't really be avoided. Will be back!
Greg Fine
Sonja and her team are amazing. They truly go above and beyond! <br/>Lady marmalade cafe is definitely worth checking out. One of the best cafe's on the south side
Cheyne Mogg
Wow!! Best brekkie we have had! We go to a lot of different brekkie cafes, and the food here takes the cake!! The 60/60 eggs were perfection, every item on the plate was loved by the foodies that work the kitchen.<br/>It is on a busy road, which for city dwellers is atmospheric. For summer, it was a little hot as there were not fans or aircon (so a cooler day would be perfect). Staff had big smiles. Try this place!!
Fork 'n' Spoon
Wow!! Love this place, another bookmarked cafe adventure completed!<br/>Planned a catch up with some old work mates before they return back to work & overseas and decided this cafe with such a high score, I cant go wrong!<br/>Staff were so friendly and helpful. Such a pity there was no air con or fans to cool us down. But we sat outside and got glimpses of a breeze.<br/>Order at the counter, and they gave us our "table animal" I ordered the Open beef rib fillet on sourdough with Caramelised onions. My friends ordered The Gringo and the other a Ham, cheese & Tomato toasted panini. My long black with a side of milk was so smooth.<br/>May I say my open steak sambo was "The Bomb". I could see real herbs, and it tasted amazing. Everyone agreed that their meals were very tasty and reasonably priced.<br/>I will return, but on not such a scorcher of a day!!
Hayley
Located on a noisy, busy street, this place is mostly outside seating so lacks a bit of atmosphere. The table numbers are animal figurines which is cute and unique; however the staff are a little uneducated on the menu and ingredients (even the items in the window). They do have the AFR Weekend newspaper so that won points with the BF and he loved his breakfast special (Avo and 60/60 Eggs) and banana smoothie.

If you are after great coffee, VERY quick delivery of food and bubbly inviting staff then this is the place for you. We got acknowledged the minute we walked in. With my oder of carnivore big brekky and sweet corn waffles for her we didn't wait long at all for both coffee and brekky, to find our table they don't have boring old numbers for your tables instead had animals (crocodile, lion etc) just to add that little bit of quirky feel to it, love it. When the coffee arrived i took one sip and didn't want it to end, fantastic coffee lady marmalade!!! Less then 5 mins later the mains arrived and the crocodile was gone. Great brekky great coffee and very clean staff ensuring tables wiped down quick and efficiently.
Mandy Bernadette
Delicious brekky, great price, super friendly service and so efficient! We love this quirky little cafe. Our coffees were awesome and we barely waited 15 mins for our meals and the cafe was busy!! Sweet corn waffles for me and Carnivore Big Brekky for him - excellent portion size and price to match. It is pet friendly too which is great! Love the little animals that are handed out when you order - cute, innovative idea instead of handing out the basic table numbers. Thank you Lady Marmalade for a wonderful start to our busy day!
Alison
So glad I finally ventured to the south side to test this place out! Best vibe, awesome menu options, and attentive yet chilled service from the crew - brekkie perfection.
Sala Rankine
One of the cafe experiences in a long time! The owner was a total sweetheart who was more than happy to do whatever she could for us to have a great time - we ordered the Herbivore Biggie Breakfast and the Gringo, and an iced latte. <br/><br/>Gotta disagree with the below - the Gringo was just fantastic. Toast to meal ratio was perfect, and something about the toast soldiers was v moreish. Loved the addition of chorizo. <br/><br/>Will 100% be back - we live right across the road! Much love for this place and the crew ❤️
BIGBEAR
How disappointed!!! Have heard a lot about this place so thought I would give it a try with the wife and family. Ordered a flat white extra shot to drink, that's what came out,BUT it was bloody warm/cold!!! The wife said the same thing about hers as well.<br/>Our food came out I ordered the Gringo with side serve of maple bacon. Wow how disappointing the size of the meal was small for $15 and the bacon side serve was tougher then rubber at $4 a serve. The wife's meal was average and so was the families meal. To pay $140 and be disappointed doesn't sit well with me,I will not be back and the same was said by my wife and my family.
Caitlin Hughes
My absolute favourite! Awesome, varied menu; reasonably priced; fantastic food; and the friendliest staff! A Brisbane institution and a must try.
Trina
Love, love, love this place! I think it is one of the best breakfast places in Brisbane. My favourite dish is the mushroom and goat's cheese on brioche. It is very busy, particularly on Sunday morning, and there might be a bit of a wait for a table, but it is one of the few places I'm happy to line up for. It is a little bit of a quirky place. I love that they give you a little toy instead of a table number.

When you see the size of the kitchen, it’s amazing that Lady Marmalade can turn out toast let alone meals. It is packed to the hilt on weekends with hopeful punters staring you down as you finish your breakfast but it’s a more sedate affair mid-week.<br/><br/>In my ongoing quest to move beyond egg combos for breakfast, I was delighted to see Corn Waffles w Feta & Roasted Tomatoes on the menu. I could have also selected good old fashioned Savoury Mince on (Sourdough) Toast or an exotic Vegan Okra & Black Eye Pea Gumbo. For the die hards, there are the standard eggs and smashed avo options.

I had driven past Lady Marmalade more times than I care to think. Driving past, it had always been busy regardless of the time of day. For some reason I had never given much thought to trying there. However, recently we decided to give Lady Marmalade's a try while looking for brunch places in Stones Corner. Lady Marmalade is definitely a quaint place with surprisingly plenty of seating. We had a look over the menu, decided, and placed our orders. Out of the three of us, I was the only one that ordered a coffee. The coffee was okay, but was a bit to bitter and probably the least enjoyable aspect of the dining experience. After you order, you receive a toy as your table number. I thought it was a smart and ingenious way to have table numbers. Something a little bit different is always good I think. <br/><br/>Ordering had been quite a dilemma, as everything sounded like it would be great. I finally decided to order the Grill Dog, while the other two ordered a Ricotta pastry from the counter and 'Gringo' baked eggs. The meals came out and were great. The Grill Dog had plenty of flavour and lots going on. The nacho toppings really set it off. They are not stingy on giving sour cream. Some Mexican restaurants should take note! The baked eggs was really good as well, with lots of flavour from the eggs and the ragu. But the other members on my table were definitely getting food envy from the Grill Dog. <br/><br/>Overall, I am surprised that I had not been there before, but now I am aware how delicious it is there, I will be making my way back. The other meals sounds nice on the menu, so I will have to give them a try. I know my dining companions will be going back to try the Grill Dog.

I went here today. First time and would definitely go back. I had the special which was a hash and chorizo dish. Delicious! Coffee very good too. Furthermore, customer service exemplary.
Envyfood
Didn't feel like making breakfast today so went to my local. When they have the scrambled eggs special wit pesto it's great! But the special today was underwhelming and couldn't help but feel they were a bit stingey.. I'll only go when they have that special now .. I had to add the avocado. Fritters tasted like a dense chewey pancake with too much flour. :(

What a disappointment! <br/>Let's start with the coffee. What a frothy mess! May as well have been some cheap nespresso pod machine or something. <br/>Definitely not up to any Cafe standard. <br/>Even our coffee mugs were filthy. <br/><br/>Instead of table numbers they use toy animals in an attempt to be hip. Every waiter/waitress looks totally confused and kept asking if this food or coffee was ours. Taking it from table to table. Stupid. <br/><br/>The food was very average. My wife's waffle wasn't made to order and was stale. <br/>And my burger was served on a old gross cutting board. <br/><br/>Got a table outside, looking into their filthy kitchen which has open rubbish everywhere. <br/>Staff all were filthy covered in food stains and sweat. <br/><br/>Maybe this place has changed management as it had a pretty good reputation. <br/><br/>Will not be going back EVER. <br/> <br/>

Coffee is amazing. This unpretentious cafe is great - but just slightly overpriced in my eyes. <br/><br/>I had the vegan okra & bean gumbo which was excellent! Added a side of avocado which was definitely needed.

Delicious, inventive take on all day breakfasts. Very vegetarian friendly with a wide range of flavours. Delicious coffee, very friendly staff and a nice location.
Chris Van Hoof
YUM! funky cafe, great food with an interesting and varied menu. It doesn't look like much but it's got it where it counts. Will be back here again.

Fantastic coffee. I've been here a number of times for coffee and it always perfect. They offer a number of options on the food menu as well as cakes and treats in the cabinet.

Hadn't been to this place in years - I've been missing out. This place is great for a quick breakfast or lunch. The menu is small but I think this helps to keep the service punchy and customer turn over high. When you order you are given a quirky place holder - ours was a plastic crocodile. I ordered a pulled pork roll with nacho toppings and a coffee. The roll was delicious and the coffee was drinkable but nothing special. My sister had savory waffles and a salted Carmel milkshake. She enjoyed them both. Portion sizes are fairly big (well we thought so) and probably could have shared one meal and a side. Location wise it's nothing special being on a main road with most of the seating outside but as I mentioned earlier if you are keen for a quick bite - not wanting to stay and chat for ages - this is a great cafe. I will return.

I go to Lady Marmalade when I am need of something hearty and tasty. The food is really rustic and homely. It feels like a big warm hug and picks you up, like mum's cooking would. The staff are always friendly and in a good mood and excellent when you mention food allergies. I mentioned it was my mum's first visit so they made a special face in her latte foam. Its always a pleasure going here and I am reminded why on each visit.

Had brunch here on a public holiday, it was busy but the staff were friendly and service was really quick! 15% surcharge though but the food was great! Would recommend the GRINGO baked eggs and their sandwiches!!
Liza Nuing
Had lunch from their all day breakfast menu. I chose the 60/60 egg which is boiled at 60 degrees for 60 minutes and turns out like a poached egg. I opted to have mine medium on the hot plate. The egg came with toasted sourdough, roasted tomato, chimmi curri sauce, avocado and corn salsa, and hash brown. I added on haloumi and maple bacon. Everything was delicious and I rather enjoyed the egg - a big thing for me as I strongly prefer to have my eggs scrambled. My skinny cappuccino was perfect, they use Genovese coffee beans here. Staff were fantastic - very friendly and accommodating.
BigFellaBella
Enjoyed the food at this cafe located in Stones Corner. Coffee was was very good. Staff were friendly and efficient. The 60/60 egg though was not quite right. Overall, above average breakfast menu.

This place is my go to - I eat here a lot. The coffee is good, the food is amazing and the staff are so friendly and warm you feel they are happy as soon as you walk in - it's a great vibe. Surprised another reviewer said the banana bread was awful as I get this all the time and I know they make it fresh in-house because I asked as it's not like a typical tiny dark brown banana bread it's a generous piece of golden yumminess served with honey and mascarpone - I want a piece just writing about it. I have eaten my way through most of the menu and everything is good but I have my favourites. Good job Lady Marmalade I am so glad to have you in my local area.
Natalie
Lady Marmalade appears to be a very trendy/hipster style cafe. We had coffees, breakfast and banana bread and I must say the 4 of us thought it was less than average in taste. This place didn't do it for us at all. It has a very unhygienic feel to it. Staff were unfriendly! We won't be back! Sorry!
Paul Reece
Such a busy place... but for me didn't live up to the hype. Servings are super small for what you end up paying.  If you're into reheated beans and naff decor then this your place, don't understand why the lemmings are lining up for this stuff. Oh the coffee was disappointing also.
Wendykat
Dissappointed. Who doesn't do basic bacon and eggs for breakfast. Having to pay extra for bacon and the 60/60 eggs which swam in their undercooked whites left me very underwhelmed. Not going back and not recommending.
Auelder
Bad Service. Don't go on a public holiday! Unprofessional staff, bad service! Not the same place!
Coffee Snob
LOVE. Love me some Lady M coffee and charm always.
Georgie Porgy
First time visiting this cafe, and I ordered a freshly juiced orange juice.. I drank the whole thing while driving home. As I took the lid off to eat some ice, there was a DEAD FLY in one of the ice cubes!!! Disgusting!
Jasmine New
Best breakfast I've ever had in brisbane! I had the "breakfast special" - it was smashed avocado with 60/60 eggs, bacon, grilled Haloumi, feta and dukkah! This must become a permanent fixture in the menu! The only slightly negative feedback I have is that the avocado was doused in lemon which made it an extremely sharply flavored part of the dish. But that's only a minor thing because overall, it blew my mind with how delicious it was!! DEFINITELY will recommend this place to anyone and everyone I talk to!
Kbrown
Dissatisfied. Upon arrival there were dirty tables, no wait staff available and a genuine lack of service. They call the cafe hip and trendy, well I am sorry but that is no excuse for lack of service and dirty glasses. This was my first and definitely last time going there. I would suggest going somewhere else. <br/>Not happy at all!
Nic Charks
Savour that mince. Holy crap, when it comes to a hungover, post-late night, pre-drive home breakfast, this place takes the cake. Walking from my mates place where I stayed the night, My mate and I luckily noticed this cafe first on our way into town. Two things stood out on the menu, the gringo eggs and the savoury mince on toast, but being relatively early, I thought the simplicity of savoury mince, feta, herbs and roasted tomato on sourdough sounded rad and for only $9 (which I paid for using a $20 note I found in the mosh at the music festival I attended the night before), it made me so stoked I didn't opt for the reliable but very average coffee club/maccas feed. When it arrived on the table i was even happier, nothing to look at but bloody hell was I keen to get into it. The mince was soft and flavoursome, the feta so soft, tomatoes cooked perfectly and the toast just soaked up all the flavour. Only regret was not getting the 60/60 eggs with it as nothing compliments savoury mince better than a nice runny yolk. Overall though, absolute ripper meal for a weary bloke on a bit of a budget. Can't wait to go back and try more things on their simple yet delish looking menu. 5/5
Katie Kerr
Over priced food, slow service, small servings. Not impressed. <br/><br/>The food was average. I got 60/60 breakfast and was very salty and bland in flavour. Paid extra for bacon and it was tiny- definitely not worth it.
Belinda
Such a good menu with lots of variety. But the bread is always hard to cut and tastes stale. I'm a regular here and the bread won't stop me coming here but fresh bread would make a difference.

Voulez vous. With its cozy furnishings and smiling staff, one cannot walk by Lady Marmalade Cafe without wanting to join the already happily seated customers. Their all-day menu offers a range of simple breakfasts as well as some other very interesting options which can be viewed here. A cabinet display also offers frittatas, pies and sandwiches as well as sweet choices such as their rocky road.<br/><br/>I thoroughly enjoyed my gluten free frittata with a side salad (a mix of their asian salad and quinoa salad) and took my pick of a simple orange juice by The Juice Guys out of a fridge filled with all kinds of interesting drinks. The meal was very well presented and a perfect portion size for the price I paid.<br/><br/>Lady Marmalade is very easy to get to, with street parking and public transport nearby. The Buranda Train Station or Stones Corner Bus Station are in walking distance. After being served by the friendly, welcoming and easy-going staff, I very much look forward to my next visit very soon!
Sarahharvey92
Great place for Sunday breakky. Breakfast was delicious and the service was great also. The mushrooms on brioche was yummo and the 60/60 egg breakfast hit the spot also. Nice place for an easy breakfast for two. Definatly coming back

Horrible Experience. My friend and I came to Lady Marmalade for breakfast today. I ordered the vegan okra and she ordered sourdough with vegemite and avocado. The lady who served us was nothing short of miserable. When we received our meals they were pretty much the same. They forgot the vegemite, the bread was like a rock and the coffee very bitter. The vegan okra was tasty but I definitely wouldnt pay that price for the small amount we were given. No one asked us how our meals were and my friend went to pick up some plates that had blown away in the wind and she didnt even receive a thank you - they just stared at her. Very poor experience and won't be coming back. The only positive was the blankets on the chairs to keep you warm.
Lovesbreakfastandcake
Yummy yummy!!. Enjoyed the 60/60 eggs and a chai tea steeped with milk. Great food, generous serving size and friendly staff. There was a little wait for a table, but it was well worth it! Great relaxed atmosphere and funky table "numbers". Highly recommended for breakfast!

Rude staff and over-priced food

Ups and Downs. Lady Marmalade isn't a well-rusted-on Brisbane cafe institution YET, so it's fair it's still a little topsy-turvy. It's a unique cafe serving tasty breakfasts and decent coffee ... and with bonus knitted lap-warmers. :D I've ordered the pumpkin, tomato and haloumi on toast, the baked eggs and beans, and the chai muesli. Plus coffees. Always coffees. <br/><br/>Ups: Delicious fare! Definitely strays from the usual 'bacon and eggs' some restaurants offer, and caters sensationally for vegetarians an vegans (seriously, well done). Kitschy and cute decor. HOT coffee! Prompt service (needs more smile). <br/><br/>Downs: Chai muesli didn't taste like chai, not even a hint of cinnamon, which was really disappointing. The menu in store also didn't match the one online, in terms of items AND price. I was expecting my chai muesli with greek yoghurt and honey, but it was served with berry compote and milk. After I ordered, I realised the menu was different and $2 more expensive. Pleeeease update your website!!! There are no other downs - the portions are a little small, but I guess big breakfasts make me feel guilty and lethargic afterwards anyway! <br/><br/>Despite this, I've been returning. I think I need to branch out. Yeah... they've got me hooked. <br/><br/>ps. milkshakes or juices. Where were they on the menus?!
The Devourer Of Food
Say no more. I am hungry. I should give this place a really bad review on their Damn fine baked eggs so that people stop going and I don't have to wait in line to order ....
Toni
Another nice cafe. Welcoming staff and I enjoyed the baked eggs. Prices are reasonable but the portion is a bit small.
Chantal
Doesn't offer eggs as a side. Very difficult to cater simply for children who want just the basics and nothing more. Not even one full rasher of bacon on my plate as a side that costed $2.50. <br/>Very underwhelming to say the least
Chris Ward
Didn't live up to the Hype. I was pretty disappointed with Lady Marmalade. I don't even know how you take Genovese coffee and ruin it?!?! I didn't finish my coffee. Breakfast was also pretty average. Pricing was very good though, I have to give them that. To me it is just another Brisbane Cafe being hipster and trying to replicate Melbourne cafe's. The thing is, the hipster cafe's in Melbourne back it up with excellent coffee and incredible food. I doubt I'd go back there, so many other good options available.
Macnevim
Great place. Love the atmosphere..staff very cheerfull and attentive..thanks for my son's recommendation. Sad people have to post negatives....

Dissapointing, Menu promised so much more but didn't deliver.. First & last time here! Have been curious as go past on the bus in the mornings on the way to work in the city & its always busy so finally got round to going there for breakfast this morning (Sunday). Ordered the special indonesian inspired mince on corncake with 60/60 egg & my wife ordered the haloumi on sourdough. The mince was the savoury mince in disguise they just added a dash of kecap manis & a few fried shallotts & had the cheek to call it indonesian I wonder if the creators have ever visited indonesia?. Tastless corncake & the mince was probably old hence the reason my wife & I experienced Krakatoa on arriving at home some 30 min later. The haloumi was bland & the pesto short of the essentials (Garlic, pinenuts & parmesan) & steamed pumpkin & hot tasteless oven roasted tomatoes, half cooked sourdough & english spinache adding nothing to enhance the flavours of this boring dish. The two coffees we ordered, short machiatto & flat white whilst being good quality coffee & not burnt were served at a tepid temperature. The service was friendly & excellent but sadly the food & coffee didn't deliver..4/10
Rob
Im in two minds. First time i went it was the day after my birthday for lunch i got the karaage burger which was awesome absolutely astronomical probably the best fusion of east and west i've ever had i even got a free coffee cos the lady remade an old order the coffee was delicious im not even a coffee drinker but it was good <br/>the next time i went in there i looked at the menu and was like WTF everything was weird and i didn't feel like anything and the karaage burger was missing (i think it was a special just for that weekend) so i didn't eat there <br/>i would definitely eat there again but i would have to check out the specials board first
Liz
Consistently good food. Always good food.. staff are a little OTT sometimes but generally nice.. good set up and reasonably priced

Perfect Saturday Morning. Was great to visit the guys at Lady Marmalade for the first time. Breakie was excellent, I loved the baked eggs (something I have never eaten before) and will definitely be getting that again. I am happy to continue to recommend this leading cafe in Brisbane to anyone that will listen.<br/><br/>Well done guys, <br/><br/>King Kong

Nice staff. Sadly the savoury mince was dry and not very flavoursome. My friend had the pulled pork and he reported that was also extremely dry. I was starving so I was able to finish my meal. My friend left half of his untouched. He gave it a good go though. For the price we weren't expecting fine dining but we had some hopes that we would get some nice, humble, flavoursome food. Hopes dashed.
Steph27
Such a cute cafe! Noisy spot but good, fast service. I had the pumpkin, pesto, haloumi, spinach and tomato on sourdough which was a decent size for $10 and was delicious. A friend an I shared the cranberry and pistachio slice afterward which is worth the drive alone! Delicious!
Kaylibarrasso
Short and sweet. I was just passing by on my travels of Brisbane as I am looking for what was considered the best places to eat in Brisbane as I plan to make this place my new home. I stopped in a Lady Marmalade and I happy to say nice friendly service fun toys used as table markers made it a fun experience the coffee was nice although it didn't hit it on the strength mark for me I am sure it would be fine for most. i would visit again if I am in the neighborhood.
Liam
Absolute garbage. I had the hanoi sub and my partner had the haloumi sandwich. The hanoi sub was terrible and bordering inedible. The haloumi sandwich was boring. Way overpriced, and the place is dirty.
Mchen469
Delicious. Top brunch spot. The popularity speaks for itself. Definitely recommend this place for an awesome brunch experience.
Gina Venzin
Such a cute little cafe, great service and even better breakfast
Julie Ustinoff
Disappointing. Went here for early lunch last week First, it was a very hot day so finding a reasonable spot to sit outside was a challenge. Staff were great - very friendly and welcoming. The menu is small. My companion chose the haloumi, tomato and pesto on sourdough = just alright. My egg sandwich on rye was awful. Coffees ok. Won't return any time soon.
Miss Penny
Something for everyone! Vegan, vego, gf, meaty. Fabulous coffee and sandwiches, and friendly service even in peak times. The dreaded barista is a latte star. Love!
Jennifer Kate
Unique as qwerky cafe, serving flavoursome food. Also enjoyed the Coffee Saigon! Service was also commendable.
Frankie
Great breakfast. My daughter and I stopped in for breakfast and weren't disappointed. Avo on sour dough and savoury mince both were well presented and tasty. Coffee / tea good<br/>Not overly busy so that was also pleasant. The staff were friendly and the tables clean. A good experience.
Bris Girl
Disappointing. Have enjoyed LM in the past. Food is now dry and tasteless, knowing food, i would hazard a guess that their pre-prepped ingredients are sitting for way too long in the fridge (weeks?). Portions are too small for the price and coffee is average and was served luke warm (coffee is not supposed to be hot but also not luke warm). Have to say that I'm also not a fan of the grungy looking kitchen.
Matt B
Charming little cafe in Stones Corner. Blankets slung over the chairs and old newspaper clippings laminated onto the table - this is a very different place to have breakfast. Mostly outdoor seating, limited indoor seating.<br/><br/>Be aware that this cafe has no vanilla "bacon and eggs" type stuff - it's all very gourmet, both on the menu and the salads and sandwiches inside. We didn't have any complaints, the chai-spiced muesli was very good, as was the fruit toast. The coffees were also good. Note that you will need to go inside to place and pay for your order, then you will be served at your table.<br/><br/>Parking can be very difficult here, even early on a weekend - be careful, as this is a very busy traffic area. There is a bus stop and a busway station very close by.
Jane
Won't go back. Given the location - breakfast with complimentary carbon monoxide, I would expect the food to be exceptional. Unfortunately, this was not the case. We had panko eggs with asparagus & hollandaise sauce, the hollandaise sauce was practically non-existent - I expected the eggs to be slightly runny but they were well cooked. The meal was both dry & greasy, big shame as I'd been looking forward to going there & chose to go there with a friend from Tassie so I was a bit embarrassed with the result.
Bella Mammone
The best coffee I have had is ages! And that macadamia and caramel slice!! So gooood!
Zoe Zen
One of best Brissie brunches!. This is a funkly little joint with a cool diy, creative kinda feel. They do fantastic baked eggs! The dishes are delicious, creative, and coffee's good. Reccommend checking it out!
Adam
Just popped on after a run for a coffee (well made) and some smashed avo on sour dough. Simple but brilliant fare!
Frankyleefrank
Good coffee. Only had a coffee and a lemon slice but both were winners.
Mickeydee303
Excellent Baked Eggs. The Gringo baked eggs are truly awesome! Great service and music. The cabinet full of goodies looks amazing too. Peanut Butter cups... you are calling me back!
Cats.
Tasty food but pricey. We ordered the shredded beef burger with kimchi etc. (today's special) & the B. Hal. T. Both were delicious and enough food for 2 females but very pricey ($28 for the two meals?). Highly recommend but will cost you a pretty penny.
Nathan Kane
Food was tasty but the portions are horrible. You would expect at least double the amount of food for the price paid. You have been warned! Lady portion sizes. If you're a man order two or three meals.
Matthew Casos
Brunch on 14 July for my partners bday. Loved the mushroom brioche with goats cheese. Great combo, good coffee. Can't wait to come back
Ryan Norton
Doesn't like it. Are all the waitress high??? Slow and simple. The servings size are small but the cost per meal is big! How they are at 85% blows my mind. Not coming back

Quite lovely. It's taken me a while to get to this place, I've been to Shady Palms twice (cool spot, ok food) so thought I should head to Lady Marmalade and compare venues. Today we braved the Sunday crowds with positive results. The guy who took our order was super friendly and kindly warned of a 20 minute wait for our food. The coffees arrived quickly -- they were pretty good. Nice and strong but not overly complex in flavour. My smashed peas/pancetta etc was delicious and benefitted from the suggested side of haloumi. The other dish, a Hanoi style sub was deemed to be "delicious". The wait wasn't too bad considering, prob 25 minutes. All in all a lovely spot. Big ups to the owners for giving Stone's Corner a couple of much needed hang-outs.
Slim Jim And Kim
Waking up shady!. Had a big night at their other joint so shady breakfast at this place it was. the gringo baked eggs were amazing, coffee was the ever tasty Genovese and service was friendly as. Ill be back.
Dave Murray
A bit so so if you are an early bird.. We cycled in on our way to work and decided to try out this place for coffee's at around 6:30am. Apart form the grumpy lady serving us (why employ someone if they cant hack getting up early) and coffee which came out not so hot, the fruit bread was tasty and the blankets to keep you warm were good. Mixed bag which we may try again but not sure.
Nick
Trendy but stingy. Not a bad feel to it, a lil funky, young alternative 'kool' staff, pleasent enough, the food quality is fine, there is just never much of it!! for what I paid for my date and I, we could have gotten nearly three times the amount of food elswhere, I left thinking the coffee was ok, but I honestly went and bought a pizza an hour later, bigger servings guys, come on! two farty lil pieces of bread artistically decorated for $14.50? not filling.
Beanaround
Went to lady marmalade and not made very welcome , were busy so i can get over that , had finished work early on strip so decided will have a beer or wine instead , so walked past stones car hotel as its Not my scene and continued past the coffee club , to another place called shady palms . Ordered 2 beers , i continued to chat to friend and she said i think it's same owners as lady marmalade and then it all made sense more up themselves and unfriendly , its a nice place and really cool but could someone let them know its about the service and to get of there high horse.
Rob
Unfriendly service. My daughter and I, with my 2yr old grandson, decided to visit this local cafe last Thursday morning. We ordered a couple of coffees, a baby chino and some avocado toast. After 20 minutes waiting for our drinks my daughter decided to ask about the delay as we had seen another woman and her small son arrive at the cafe, order and receive their drinks in the time we had been sitting there. After being given a very terse - 'It's coming now' she returned to our table and was followed by a male waiter who slapped down the baby chino without a word to us. What was that?!! My daughter was polite and respectful in her request, actually she is a really lovely person who is never rude to anyone. The coffee was good, the food was ok but when I read yet another piece in this morning's Courier Mail saying how friendly the staff is I have to wonder if it's really the same place.
TTG
Had been here before and was unimpressed. Had a childhood fav, savory mince on sourdough, perfect! Coffee was great however I like it to come before my breakfast not at the same time. Will return.
HungryBella
This place is insanely cool - just look at the table numbers. My only wish is that it were bigger - too often it's packed & I have to go elsewhere!
Wallaroo
Not great. Was looking forward to it but it didn't live up to expectations. <br/><br/>First everything that from a distance looked cool and funky up close felt grimy and unclean - coffee grounds all over the counter, table not clean, dirty dishes left on empty tables for ages, etc. <br/><br/>Similar deal with the food - menu sounded good and prices seemed very reasonable, but ultimately was disappointing and not good value. Mocha was served in a tiny glass. Companion's iced coffee was glass full of ice and very little milk. Food was half size what you would expect elsewhere, not seasoned properly, and bland.<br/><br/>Staff seemed impatient and weren't that friendly - we had literally just finished our food when staff came and gave us the hurry on to leave.
Kate
Love this place! Hubby and I are repeat customers and we've never been disappointed. The coffee is amazing, the breakfasts are delicious (it is so refreshing to get something different to the tired old bacon and eggs staple offered at most places) and the staff have always been friendly to us. It does get busy later on in the morning so getting in early would be a good thing. Otherwise I can't fault it!
Ben Gasser
A fantastic little cafe! .... A fantastic little cafe!<br/><br/>I had walked past this place a few times on my morning adventures to get coffee in Stones Corner and today finally had the chance to stop in for breakfast.<br/><br/>On first impressions the staff were very friendly and welcoming and the decor was what you'd expect to find in any hipster-style cafe.<br/><br/>You won't find your standard dishes on the menu (eg. Eggs Benedict, Full Breakfast etc). What you will find is a selection of alternative yet extremely inviting dishes. I would have loved to try every one however opted for the 'Baked Eggs with Gringo salsa and Sour Dough' with a side of Haloumi. The entire dish was excellent - well presented and very tasty, as was my coffee.<br/><br/>I would recommend Lady Marmalade Cafe to anyone looking for a tasty, alternative-style breakfast or lunch.

Top 10 material?. After seeing Lady Marmalade on a top 10 list of Brisbane's best cafes, we decided to give it a try. Our experience was fine but not really top 10 material in our opinion. While my saigon iced coffee was yummy (although not really iced, more like lukewarm) the food left a bit to be desired. My hanoi steak sub had was made of up very dry brisket and only a little bit of the "coleslaw" topping. Fellow diners each had the drunken chicken burger on special and it was much tastier but still, the pulled chicken was a bit on the dry side. Pulled meat should always be tender and juicy, unfortunately, it was just not. All in all, not a terrible experience, but there just wasn't much urging us to return again other than the friendly service and funky atmosphere.

Lady Marmalade Cafe - Greenslopes, Brisbane. What was once obviously a decrepit and under-utilsed space that once housed a corner store (there are still hints there for it) has been transformed into one of the most characteristic places around town. It is extensively popular with the local folk including heaps of bikers and regular people. Stone's Corner is not known for its food scene, so this is easily a stand-out but it makes well with its own. <br/><br/>The interior has something for almost anyone. There is the old school appeal of the long-gone corner store with the art-house cafe feel externally with posters for upcoming events and concerts. This restaurant is run by a self-proclaimed hippy couple thus the menu has a focus on fresh ingredients and diverse choices - both in cuisine and in paradigm of dish. <br/><br/>One definite stand out with the service is how they assign tables. Instead of the usual number route, they give you a toy animal (my table got a rhino). This is an entertaining idea and might keep young kids busy until the meals come out. <br/><br/>I went here with my dining buddy and we were lucky to be able to place the orders to one half of the couple. She was really friendly and out there with an ardent approach to the menu. Her reaction to my choice must have been one of the most enthusiastic I have ever seen from any waitress ever. <br/><br/>To eat, I got their breakfast specialty at the time. It was salted cod croquettes with a chorizo, rocket, cherry tomatoes, smashed peas and a mushroom sauce with a bit of haloumi on the side.To drink it was an extra-shot cappuccino in a mug. <br/><br/>This was a fantastic place for breakfast. The way they make the food's appearence on the plate is very inspired (the couple were on a cooking show) and dynamic. The tomatoes burst in my mouth with juicy sweetness, the tiny chorizo were not overpowering like the sausage tends to be and both sauces were different takes on the conventional condiments. They were really interesting and the grey one (which was mushroom) had me re-looking in interest. <br/>However, the main parts are the haloumi and the croquettes. The haloumi was really soft and delicious, it was tender enough to cut and was just magnificent. The croquettes were reall well done and crumbed. The fish was soft and mixed with potato and all the subtle nuances of the fish flavour came through. It was really robust and a good dish that I am glad that I went and selected. <br/><br/>Their coffee is fantastic. The strength is what I would expect and they do everything right with the cappuccino - the froth, the chocolate dusting and the seperation of the froth and milk part. It is worth having a cup here. <br/><br/>Looking at the menu, there are plenty more great option to look at. Thank goodness they forwent the usual bacon & eggs style selections. <br/><br/>This is one place that does its own thing but it could well appeal to everyone. I could take my grandma and my high school friend (even my niece) here as there is food that would appeal to both. I sure as certainty would wish to come back here.

Nice breakfast, love the bake egg...unfortunately no air con at all.....

Wow! Suburban Gem. Wow! Thats really all I can say. Nice coffee, lovely waitstaff, amazing sounding menu and specials to die for! These guys have really done a great job. Been there four times since I moved to the area. Probably not the most consistent coffee (grindhouse is better) but the food has been more than outstanding each time. Took mum yesterday and she loved it too. She thought it was a bit too hip for her but was pleasently surprised at how friendly the staff were.<br/>Food wise my favourite has been the Po Boy Sub special last week and this morning I had a 'Gringo' baked eggs. Yummo! Mum had the vegan gumbo and said it took her back to when she lived in the States.<br/>See you in the new year Lady Marmalade and thanks for the local recommendations. Carolina Kitchen is next...

B-Hal-T is the Bomb!. So usually im against boring breakies like BLTs but this is amazeballs!! Maybe its the remnants of last nights Xmas party but what could be better than maple bacon, grilled haloumi, roast tomato, chutney and jap mayo on a soft bun. ooooh yeah! How did I not try this place before? Coffees good. Service was lovely. Smallish menu but good prices Thanks guys. See you again
Tastebudtastic
Cheap and cheerful breaky spot. portions on the smaller side but fair for the price. easy parking but mid level traffic noise even early on a Sunday.

Not much better. Had lunch at this charming little spot after a very long time - coffee no better, food a little boring.<br/><br/><br/>-----24 Nov, 2012-----<br/><br/>Mind the Coffee. A very nice little place for lunch or breakfast, however they do need to look at who makes it and how the coffee is made - sometimes great sometimes horrid!<br/><br/>In a place this small and offering a limited menu 50% of which is breakfast the coffee is very important.
Chris
In town for the weekend, a recommended breakfast spot. Menu is different and tasty, not the predictable expectations. Great coffee and good service. Well worth the visit, also enjoyed the retro 60s feel of place. Will visit again next time in town.
Becandfood
Never disappoints. I LOVE Lady Marmalade as this cafe is one of the very few cafes that is consistent with what they serve every time I've been. I just popped in for a coffee and a piece of their banana bread (which I can't get enough of) and I was greeted with great service and coffee was great as well. I will never forget one of their specials-the beet root salad with polenta and I've had their baked eggs so many times I've lost count. Winning my vote as my favourite cafe.
Lab
Friendly Staff. The cafe was very busy, but the staff still managed to be very friendly, with more than 2 staff taking the time to talk through some of the menu items and say hello to people waiting to order. Very warm and casual. It was refreshing and I will definitely be back.
Coffee_lova
Love this place. I can't say enough good about this place from the decor to the fresh hearty meals. The meals aren't your standard fare and all taste wonderful & genovasé coffee I could eat and drink here 3 times a day.
Feedmenot
The food and coffee are pretty decent but the overly lengthy wait each time I go has outwayed the positives.. The obligatory "there might be a 5-10 minute wait sorry" would be okay if it were true but you're supposed to under promise and over deliver, not the other way around. I've given this joint plenty of chances but I think I've had my last visit after they stuffed up my order once again and made us wait a hell of a long time with an insincere apology at the end. Sorry guys but the service is really just tooooo slow and i think you need to pay more attention to this of you don't want your repeat customers turning away.
Kath
We went here thinking it would be a huge posh place the way our friends talked about it. It's a small, independently run cafe and I really loved the atmosphere that afforded the place. We got good service and the best pulled pork sandwich I've had since I was in the US! If you just want to grab a bite to eat on a lazy Saturday, this is the place for you :) Its definitely not posh but that's pretty much what makes it special!

Awesome Cafe. Love love love this place. The staff are friendly the coffees awesome and the food is unforgettable. Im a vego so most places suck for me. Lady M was incredible for its range of vegetarian. That said my Mrs had an amazing meaty wagyu beef salad today. Housemade Ham hock and pea sausages with melted cheese and pickles was what she wanted but theyd sold out! Oh well Lady, well get those next time!.
Miss Jim
Gringo eggs thumbs up from me
Food000
Great lunch. We went to Lady Marmalade after hearing lots of good things from friends. I got the lunch special - sub with slow roasted beef with corn salsa. It was really fresh, light and yummy. Will definitely be back to try the breakfast.

Disappointed. We went on Sunday for breakfast and was disappointed. It was our second time the first time was just ok and this was no better. MY husband had the savoury mince which he said was horrible it was to dry and he is a foodie who hardly ever complains about meals out. I had the mushrooms on sourdough which was rather taste-less and my friend that the eggs which were undercook. For us we wont be back.
Lashez
Highly dissatisfied I had the pulled pork sandwich (pre made) that was in the fridge it was terrible there was four tiny pieces in the sandwich and a couple of pieces of rocket... I don't get what the excitement is about the breaky menu is mostly for blokes or vego's mince eggs baked eggs both super rich and mushrooms on toast! Boring... If you like exhaust fumes with your breaky and uncomfortable chairs and tiny tables go for it!
Bon Appetit
These guys do a great job
BrutallyHonest
Amazing! Everytime. And it's the service that makes it stand out!
Manuel
Always great food and coffee, this is a regular for the mrs and I

Cute & Cheerful Cafe. Normally I would find a place like Lady Marmalade only suitable for hippies - but it works. I love the mismatched cutlery and crockery, the handmade crochet blankets to warm your lap in the icy wind, the colourful chairs that come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, and the inside walls plastered with posters and other quirky artefacts - no empty white spaces here! It didn't feel dingy/dodgy as another reviewer commented, to me it was cute and welcoming - down to earth. The staff were happy friendly people who obviously don't mind working there! My cappuccino is a cup was excellent, but my second cappuccino in a mug was gritty (some problem with espresso extraction for mug size??). The field mushrooms on sourdough with fresh basil and feta (substituted for goats cheese) with a red pepper sauce on the side was a lovely meal and just the right size for a satisfying brunch that doesn't leave you feeling stuffed full. At only $10.50, big eaters could easily order a double serve if necessary. I'd like to return to try the baked eggs sometime.
Elise
Local we like. Presentation/flavour of my Friday Gourmet Pork Roll a few weeks ago was AMAZING! Not just a roll - an experience... with apple sauce, mayonnaise, fresh slices of apple and refreshing citrus salad accompanying the main event. I nibbled away at each delicious component and felt incredibly guilty that I was enjoying this treat whilst my partner was stuck at work. (he's the true foodie and I'm normally just along for the ride). It's kitsch. It's friendly. It's not huge - so treat yourself , your partner or your bestie but don't expect that they can accommodate a large party. When you go past on the weekend it's packed - I take this as a good sign they're doing something right!
Cafe Ninja
Stones corner represent. The gringo is the dish to order no poached options but they smash the the baked eggs, great vibe good style

Thums up!!. My husband and I have been exploring new cafes for a while. Lady Marmalade is now one of my favorites. <br/>everything we had on plates were delicious. <br/>Staff seemed to be enjoying the busy morning and they were very nice.<br/>We definitely will go back!!
Gregory Metcalfe
Nothing flash about this place.. Had a group of 10 people, rang a week in advance to book, but oh no, we don't do reservations. went there anyway, no way could they accommodate a group. Dingy and dodgy are the best 3 words. We went to a little place around the corner, Cafe de Moda, nice and easy, happy to accommodate us. <br/>AU REVIOUR Lady Marmalade.
Camille Grammer
I can't believe what an amazing place this is. So Melbourne style! Hipster fit out with down to earth friendly staff. Above all the food is really off-beat and damn tasty! Stones corner is just suddenly getting cool again.
Mr Eggs Bene
Awesome breakfast this morning, had the savory mince in sourdough and it was amazing!
White Orchid
Nice iced coffee. I had one of those condensed milk iced coffees from here and it was so delicious. If it was on my way to work I'd buy a coffee from here often. Love the quirky decor also.<br/>Will be back to have some food.

Never disappoints! Love Lady M x. I discovered Lady M some time last year - and now would pop in at least once a week (hopefully more!) for coffee, sandwiches, breakfast or a little sweet. I have never been anything but impressed!<br/><br/>The coffees are always great and the staff are not at all precious - so if you like your coffee hot, they'll do it; a bit cooler, they can manage that; strong, sure, why not! <br/><br/>The food is always fresh and tasty. Some of the best meals are the deceptively simple ones - baked eggs and beans, for example. These guys know how to combine flavours so you get a delightful meal that is sure to satisfy.<br/><br/>I suppose the only downside of awesomeness is that sometimes they're a bit busy - but I've never had to wait more than a few minutes to score a table, and takeaway is usually handled pretty quickly. But be aware that the place is naturally fairly laid back - so if you're in a big hurry, I'd flag it with the staff and I'm sure they'll sort things out for you. However the relaxed attitude, lovely staff and retro-chill setting is all part of the appeal!<br/><br/>All in all, a fabulous experience!

To Mumma Vegas. You know, MV, as you clearly seem to consider yourself some sort of hilariously witty and fabulous writer who is soon likely to command hordes of followers, you might like to ensure that, in addition to dialling back your pretentiousness levels, you get things factual - it's "Labelle" (as in, Patti Labelle) and not "Libelle". What is that, some sort of French lawsuit?
Mumma Vegas
Lady Marmalade Review: mummaVegas. Taking a hot tip from one of Hubby's socially plugged-in work colleagues has lead to my discovery of one of Brisbane's finest contributions to the Brunch-time set. Lady Marmalade. Voulez-vous coucher avec moi, ce soir? What now??! Oh. I would love to. But. We have a 12-week old. I'm referring directly to the breaky&brunchery on Stone's Corner. Unfortunately, it seems that a good Brunching is the best my man can hope for on Sunday mornings.<br/><br/>We were joined this particular Sunday by the delightful... well let's call them uncleVegas and auntVegas, at Lady Marmalade and I am glad to report that there was a quadrilla of satisfaction at the Turkey table. (Rather than table numbers, you get allocated a random farm animal. Digg it.)<br/><br/><br/>I don't think Boy Wonder's mouth was the first to have this toy in it. But an aptly chosen table number for us nonetheless<br/><br/>Some culinary stand outs include:<br/><br/>1. The iced chocolate:<br/><br/>"You know, whenever I order iced chocolates, i'm usually disappointed by the chocolate syrup. It's usually a little bit 'Cottees'. This Lady Marmalade syrup is different. Different in a good way." - auntVegas<br/><br/><br/>Not your Cottees-variety iced-choc<br/><br/>2. Haloumi on the side:<br/><br/>"I've come to realise that haloumi is the answer to every question about a good meal." - quirky waiter-dude who was master of the side-order up-sell.<br/><br/>He was right. In fact, the concept of A Side of Haloumi was such that serious issues broke out at the Turkey table when Hubby and uncleVegas realised that I hadn't anticipated their willingness for haloumi on this particular morning. Talk about traumatised adult-babies! "Fine! I'll get you both some bloody haloumi! Keep your skirts on!" - mummaVegas.<br/><br/><br/>Haloumi me! You know I want it!<br/><br/>3. Succinct menu choices:<br/><br/>One of my most admired features of a cafe or restaurant menu is it's ability to offer a bit of everything to please the lactose-intolerant, celiac, hipster, vegans of the world, as well as the regular-Joe, garden-variety eaters like the rest of us. Game, set, match Lady Marmalade.<br/><br/><br/>Hellloooo carnivore!<br/><br/><br/>Well-serviced, succinct menu selection.<br/><br/><br/>Mmmmm. Roasted pumpkiny, vegetarian greatness! With a side-order of bacon. Damn you, talented up-seller waiter!<br/><br/><br/>Baked eggs.....'nuff said.<br/><br/>4. Passing the ultimate test. The coffee:<br/><br/>"This coffee easily gets an 8.5 out of 10 before I've even had a drink. I like coffee to be hot enough so that I can pick it up and take a sip, but I can't keep the cup in my hand for any longer without it burning. This coffee has nailed it." - uncleVegas.<br/><br/>5. Ahhh, to be kid-friendly:<br/><br/>"I feel comfortable enough to eat whatever I like here!" - Boy Wonder.<br/><br/><br/>Comfort eating<br/><br/>Nice job, Lady Marmalade. We'll be back. My husband thanks you for at least planting the kernel: I was humming Patty Libelle in French all afternoon.<br/><br/>Bon app my good readers, Bon app.<br/><br/>mummaV xx

Great strong coffee, always pleasant and fast service. Bircher is man sized and sweet with delicious fruit throughout

The coffee is fantastic, the food is brilliant and the staff are lovely. Best cafe in stones corner.

Just got back from Lady Marmalade after having one of the best breakfasts of my life. My friends looked on with food envy as I tucked into my Panko Eggs with fiesty salsa, herbed sour cream, mango chutney and greenage.. mind blowing! The homemade beans are also excellent, and its one of the few places in Brisbane where the coffee is consistently good. We always manage to get a table straight up, but it won't be long before the line stretches down the street..

Favourite go to brekkie place. Can't think of somewhere to go for brekkie? Lady Marmalade it is, within 20 minutes walk from my workplace its great for after work brekkie or lunch. <br/><br/>Its an odd little location, the end corner onto a busy road with a very corner shop shaped interior, but the eccentric decoration always ensures that there's something new to notice around it.<br/><br/>I really like the food here, I've had most of the menu at one stage or another and being a super picky eater who whinges about everything, that's saying a lot. The only complaints are the size of the breakfasts, a little small, I find i have to choose a sandwich from the display to fill myself up. Not that I really mind, the sandwiches are so tasty.<br/><br/>Their baked eggs are delicious with their toasty soldiers. Their mushroom brioche has some of the best wrinkly grey mushrooms in Brisbane and I love their haloumi sandwich with a massive pillow of haloumi draped over the top.

Ouch. I love the decor and style of Lady Marmalade but unfortunately we were let down when it came to product. After being served by a very sweaty girl (that's cool, I get it..I spend most of my days behind a coffee machine) we received two takeaway soy coffees that took HALF AN HOUR to become drinkable, and I LOVE my coffee HOT! We also bought a small savoury tart that cost waaay too much for mostly a bundle of flakey pastry.

Birthday Lunch. Went last week on lunch break and loved it. Service was very friendly, from the counter to having our meals delivered. Some cafes these days are so cool they can't be bothered being friendly. At Lady Marmalade, staff actually smiled! And even engaged in a little chit chat. Quite refreshing after I'd just about thought that customer service was dead and serving coffee was akin to working in a funeral home. Didn't have a lot of time but meals were on our table quickly and beautifully served. Warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Thank you, Lady Marmalade, look forward to coming back.

Seriously, this cafe is the best thing about Stones Corner. Possibly even Brisbane. Go there. Right now.
Coffee Hound
Great concept. Amazing menu, coffee was a bit lacking, overall highly recommended
Rory Doyle
Good solid cafe.. The kind of cafe you'd love to have close by. Good coffee, solid, simple breakfast menu and friendly staff. They've done brilliantly well with the decor and fit out. Roasted Pumpkin, Tomato, Pesto and Haloumi on Sourdough was a nice simple breakfast. Criticising anything would be splitting hairs really. I would definitely go back.

Girl's dream. I am from a sort of cafe culture where this type of cafe is a dream for many girls to have... lots of second hand goods including cups and saucers. Very cute and unique! Unfortunately, the girl served us was not that friendly comparing with girls at other places, but it was ok because she added a character to this cafe and being surrounded by lovely bric-a-bracs gave me lots of inspirations!
Dario Paolini
Came here proudly to introduce my partner to the great food and experience based on my last visit here. Was greeted by an unenthusiastic so and so behind the counter. Wanted the frittata which comes with salad, for $8, but didn't like the only choice of salad on offer - so asked for two pieces of frittata, no salad, expecting to pay a bit more for the extra piece (given the fact the salad I was not having would be cheaper than a whole extra piece of frittata). No, no, no, even though I was having no salad at all, I was firmly told that my two pieces would be $8 each, no less. I suggest the staff learn to be accommodating and gracious because we certainly won't be coming back here and I doubt many people will tolerate this nonsense.

Wow! This place is my new go to local cafe for brekkie or brunch and even lunch! My boyfriend and I had the daily specials; a BLT with haloumi and a mushroom burger and it was just amazing! We thought that it should've come with a side of salad or something but at the end, we wouldn't have needed it. Also, if you like your coffee strong, this is your place. The place is so cute and cosy even though it's on the side of the road. The staff were so friendly, it was just a great atmosphere. I am definitely going back again to try other things cos it just looks so good!!!!!!! :)

Really nice staff with funky vintage furniture. outdoor ambiencenis really chill. mixed crowd, good atmosphere. i had a short mach and it was perfect..almost syrup like. my friend had cap and she liked it. she is a coffee addict fyi

Lovely little cafe! Good coffee and loved the fruit toast I had for breaky lots of texture! Not the boring rasin toast you find most places!! :)

Busy, friendly cafe.. It's really nice to see some life come back to this area of Brisbane. LM is always full and the staff are attentive and greet and farewell you like family (great to see). The menu is simple, yet delicious and the decor is very cute. The coffee was a hit too. Well done team.

Marmalade is Sweet for Us. After driving past on a number of occasions as the place was full to the brim, we took the opportunity to give Lady Marmalade a go when the opportunity arose. With a roadside table free, we loved being able to take a seat in the sun. Although the menu is relatively modest in size, there is a good array of varied breakfast/brunch style options. The savoury mince was good quality and the feta made a great addition to the dish. The Haloumi Stack was a stand-out, with the combination of spinach and pumpkin a perfect balance, although maybe more a lunch than a true breakfast meal. The coffee and chai tea were both above average, and although basic, the service and ambience was faultless. The dishes are smaller than a lot of the local Brisbane breakfast eateries, however, so are the prices with most meals $10 or less. we will definitely be back if we can get a seat at this not so hidden gem
George
Cold on the Western front. Very nice. Freezing at times on the western footpath....get there early to bag a better possie. Baked eggs with beans were great although could inch up the acceptability scale with longer cooking of beans and a palate lifter of chilli. Top marks overall. Good coffee.
Bris_ae
Cafe with lots of character. After reading all of the great reviews, finally made it across town to try out lady marmalade - and it was well worth it! it's got a great vibe, cool set up, the staff are friendly and the haloumi on sourdough was delicious! will definitely be back.

Delightfully Surprising Sunday Brunch. We ventured out last Sunday for a late hit of caffeine & brunch. Lady Marmalade delivered the goods. Counter service prompt, simple with smart choices menu menu with competitive prices. I ordered the haloumi sweet potato open sandwich & my man ordered the baked eggs. We will be back, well done LM.<br/>PS We have different ideas on crispy bacon though!
Deano's Digest
Small and simple menu, with some delicious sounding specials. My coffee tasted a little bitter, but beyond that everything was great - especially the service. I had the Haloumi, pumpkin and pesto breakfast dish and was a very happy camper. The hash cake I ordered on the side was absolutely delicious, and secured a return visit in the near future.
Miss Potty Coffee
Get a life Rhonda , I'm sure you would love kids doing the same in your home, lady marmalade is a super coffee shop and doesn't need to be bad mouthed because YOU can't control your kids . Thumbs up to lady marmalade and ignore these critics that have nothing else going on in there lives!
Rhondda
Not so kid friendly. We went to Lady Marmalade after reading the reviews etc on Urbanspoon. Of particular note, we read that Lady Marmalade was "kid friendly". However, when we took our two little girls there and they had the audacity to pick up some plastic fruit we got a sharp "Oi" from the kitchen. We ignored this initially because we just didn't think that it would be related to us. However, when the plastic fruit was picked up again, a guy from the kitchen yelled at us again and told us not to touch the fruit - is he kidding - apparently not!! We would never go there again and have spread the word about how ' kid unfriendly' the staff are.

Very good!. Awesome coffee, awesome food and even better service!<br/>Highly recommend to anyone!

Not bad, not great. After submitting to the hype a mate and I went along for a coffee and breakfast. The coffee was great but my baked eggs only managed an OK rating. It was a hearty meal but just not my thing. Loved the decor but wish they had a few more seats and the service was excellent. Definitely worth a visit still, may have to go back and try something else.
Suzanne
All good with the exception of a short n curly at the bottom of my coffee cup! No offer made to refund, or another one on the house, which surprised me...

Essence of Brunch: Affected but Awesome. So, many people are looking for many thing in their cafe's. They want Breakfast options, but also savory lunch food. They want personality, but not to the point of being unwelcome. They want good, 'eating out' food, without the price. Lady Marmalade delivers.<br/><br/>There's a wee bit of a hipster air (Vintage tables, chintzy table markers) but ssh, it's OK, they're friendly and they don't judge. Seating inside and out is a wee bit cramped, and the tables are a wee bit small, but you'll deal.<br/><br/>There's a cabinet full of good gourmet versions of home food... Creamy lemon slice, chunky hedgehog, sammiches ready for toasting and salads all-a-gleam. If you're like me, however, you ignore the case and head for the menu.<br/><br/>Savory Mince comes on a slice of thick toast, all beefy lusciousness, biting tomato sauce and bright popping corn and peas. It's a little-known fact that peas are awesome when they pop. Also gracing some toast are buttery herbed mushrooms and tangy goats cheese, the mushrooms that excellent mix of moist flesh and crispy skin, rubbing each other with butter.<br/><br/>There's the obligatory Wagyu burger (with the obligatory being OK but not great), the obligatory fruit toast which I didn't bother to try because, seriously, it's fruit toast, and you can order cheese on the side. Their soup dish is called "A warm hug in a bowl".<br/><br/>Come to think of it, all the food is kinda "mum", but in a VERY good way. It's warm, comforting and the only problem is it's brunch sized. If you've got a bigger appetite, you might not be full. No worries, that leaves room for some slice...
Manup
I had the baked eggs. They were good but nothing amazing. Cute spot though.
AT
Yummmm....really really good. I had heard such great things about this little place and it was all true! Fast, efficient and friendly service on a busy Sunday morning. Very nice coffee and really delicious food. Best banana bread I have ever tasted and the haloumi and mushroom dishes both top notch ingredients and tasty and fresh...excellent value. Really enjoyed it and a great vibe, great music..felt like I was back in Brunswick St!
Nathan
Great little urban cafe feel, but the coffee is a let down. One to keep an eye on I reckon.
Richard
Excellent breakfast. We've only been here to eat a handful of times but each time we're amazed at the quality of the food from such a little cafe. The quality of the ingredients and care they put into the preparation shows in the result.<br/><br/>Admittedly some of the staff could do with a bit more training in coffee making as is can very very hit and miss but, and I will rarely say this, the food more than makes up for it. Just get water or juice instead.
Toby
Oh yeah. Cool addition to the neighbourhood and the sort of place that feels totally familiar from the very first visit. Love anything on the menu with the slow-roast tomoatoes, and the biscotti is a must-have - better than those dog biscuits you get elsewhere!
HF
Great value, great Sunday breakfast!. What a hidden gem this is. Coffee was a good start to my morning. Breakfast choice was haloumi, tomato, spinach and roasted pumpkin on sourdough with a mint and chilli pesto. Absolutely delicious.<br/>Breakfast and get togethers here doesn't break the bank and I love the decor. Will be returning, definitely!
Sarah
I love this little place, it reminds me of a coastal funky cafe. Staff r great, coffee is so yum and the food always looks so fresh and tasty!! U have to check it out!!
WH
Great coffee and affordable food. Coffee is great here. Staff are friendly and not pretentious which makes a nice change. The food is reasonably priced, there is good variety and it is tasty. Great place.

Fantastic breakfast outside of the valley/west end. The savoury mince and mushrooms on brioche were both delicious! Awesome value for money and cosy decor

Tasty Toasted Duck. Just enjoyed a late lunch at Lady Marmalade. I can recommend the duck sandwich, perfect and the coffee was on the mark too.

Pork Sandwich and Coffees Rock. The pork, tallegio and apple sandwich is awesome- i love the green tomato relish with it. Great service too!

A charming footnote in Stones Corner.. Lady Marmalade offers a wide range of beautiful dishes, the coffee is wonderful. Lady Marmalade has a homely atmosphere which is a result of its eclectic design. The soups are amazing, they feel like a hug in a bowl.
Is It Presse
Why are we reviewing Lady Marmalade, you ask? A well-established café that’s been around since 2010 with many positive reviews? Well, oftentimes, cafés and restaurants are on their best behaviour around opening time, eager to lure customers and impress. Although I do believe that most places strive to provide the best service and food at all times, sometimes this standard can slip. But, to be honest, today we picked Lady Marmalade because Jo and I were running too late to go to the place we’d originally planned to go. Watch the video below for a quick recap: Stones Corner has never exactly been a foodie hotspot, although slowly, a few interesting things are cropping up. Lady Marmalade is one of these; it is a quaint establishment that seems to enjoy a steady flow of customers and certainly seems to be busy at the usual times. But, because it is small, seating can be a problem. When Jo and I arrived, we quickly nabbed the only spot left outside – a tiny circular table right next to Old
Sunshine And Gin
Lady Marmalade is definitely a new favourite breakfast spot for me (I’ve already booked a tentative return date with a girlfriend) and if you’re a Brisbane local you should definitely check it out if you haven’t already.
Miss Foodie
Lady Marmalade Café is your little slice of home cooked goodness in Stones Corner.
BrisVegasVego
The café was busy but not full and we got quick service and meals. My mushrooms were well cooked and came with spinach but didn’t appear to come with the goats’ cheese. Instead, there was a yoghurt looking but cheesy tasting sauce under my mushrooms. It was still delicious and as long as no one mayo-bombed me (I don’t like mayo [but like aioli]) I didn’t mind. The potato feta hash was really good- I find that sometimes the cheese taste gets lost but you could actually pick it as an ingredient and I didn’t want to add salt to it. My friend was really happy to discover her tomatoes were in a really nice dressing and although she couldn’t pick the herbs in her avo, I think there was mint, coriander and possibly basil.
Tammy
It's another one of those suburbia cafes, and although a bit smaller than I expected, it was quite a cute little place with windowsills lined with trinkets.  It took a while to get here by bus, so by the time we got there, we were famished! All three of us ordered the Saigon coffee, which is a novelty that just might be increasing in popularity...
MynameisFood.
Owners Mal and Bec is best known for their My Kitchen Rules journey.. Lady Marmalade is located at the corner of Logan Rd and Cleveland Rd over at Stones Corner... Quite a little place and an awkward place to have a cafe there but it seemed homey despite the space.. It had a lot of antiques and seatings are mostly outdoor with various different tables and seats...Their well-known 'Classic Baked Free-range Eggs' with house beans and warm toast soldiers...
Rachel
Good price coupled with friendly service just makes Lady Marmalade the way to start your day. A good breakfast is worth traveling for, after all, breakfast is known to be the most important meal of the day. And can it get any better? They serve breakfast all day… so all you people who love to sleep in on the weekends, you will never miss out on breakfast here! So if you are into cafes in Brissy, this place is not to be missed!
Hooi
For myself, I ordered the baked eggs with beans. The eggs were cooked to perfection but I don't think that this dish was that special. Flavour wise, it was quite simple and wish there was more to it
Dolce Bunnie
S o how good is Lady Marmalade?! While the bunnies couldn't decide on which dish was best, we could decide on one thing, there would be no excuses on making a return visit.
... they are serving a sandwich w roast pork, fresh pear, taleggio, green tomato relish & roast tomato!!!! FABULOUS! the majority of the food served is made in house.

Boasting an all-day breakfast menu, a huge selection of freshly constructed gourmet sandwiches and deliciously roasted Genovese coffee, I really should of made the stomach space to give it a whirl. Unfortunately, due to a bit of GPS glitch (I was actually wanting to give Vintage Kitchen Vintage Cupboard a shot), I had run out of time – well, not only that, I was running out of patience. This woman needs her coffee fix before 10AM or she starts to throw things. Like shoes. And expensive things.
YunYun Xu
There is a good selection of sandwiches, baked goods sweet and savoury and an impressive looking couscous salad. Sandwich lovers, you will be spoilt for choice!

Hanoi style steak sub. This was a version of a banh-mi, a baguette style sandwich which had sweet shredded beef with a sprout slaw, herbs, nam jim and a mayonnaise. There was a cute little snack of rice crackers on the side, which was a lovely little touch. I loved the sub, it was fresh and filling, and the meat was delicious.

... It was tasty, nourishing and filling and the perfect choice on a rainy morning.

Lady Marmalade was a really nice, cosy and friendly cafe that had a strong neighborhood feel. I heard the staff greet several customers like local regulars. I love that in a food establishment. The coffee was great and the food even better.
