Review Famished On Frasers - Brisbane

Alex Huang
Amazing coffee and tasty food, love the vibe there. We ordered both r pork belly Bao and the vegetarian cauliflower Bao with mushroom, avocado & scrambled eggs sides. So full after the feast! Highly recommended!!

Tried this place 7 years ago and went back this morning. Still just as good and busy as ever. Great little local spot. The portions are large, food is delicious, amazing coffee and friendly service. I kinda regret going back because they've ruined breakfast anywhere else.

We had a lovely breakfast at Famished on Frasers this morning. The service was friendly and the food came out really fast. Most importantly the brekkie burgers were both huge and delicious and the Toby's Estate coffee was reliably good! We're from the southside, and now have a new fave when we venture north of the river.
Sam Graham
Great vibes, friendly staff and pets welcomed. Will be back for sure! Breakfast menu is quite impressive and the coffee is consistent!
Melanie Gabbie
Must have a fab chef as even when super busy the food is fab. We’re vegan and loved the long blacks, mushrooms and avocado toast. Service great. Saturday mornings are busy so make sure you reserve a table! Fab local hang out

I do love coming here! Food is great, price is reasonable for the location and market of the cafe too. Good vibe! Some music would be nice too! Only one thing I would really change, to be able to turn on the exhaust fan in the toilet. It was VERY hot and… stinky when I used it and I couldn’t find a way to turn the fan on :)
Mila Sheludkova
Perfect place for breaky or lunch. Catching up there with my friends regularly and service been always very friendly, food and coffee is good too 😊

Lovely little cafe that is dog friendly with absolutely delicious food. Not a lot of gluten free options, but I guess when you have a 100% gluten free option right next door, it's probably not high on the priorities. The bacon was possibly the nicest bacon I have ever had and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Th gluten free toast, well, it's gluten free and unless you are making it fresh, it's never going to be as good as the real thing.
Reyelle McKeever
Tried the gluten free veg muffin as a quick breakfast. It was way too oily and yet the texture wasn't very good. I'll try something else next time but wouldn't recommend the muffin.
Damien Smith
Went there this morning with a group of 10, they accommodated us on a nice table outside, without a booking. Very friendly staff and the meals were excellent with really good portion sizes. Great coffee as well. Hadn't been in quite some time but will definitely be back.
Naosha Chalvatzis
Highly recommended cafe. Never misses with a perfect coffee coupled with an excellent quality plate of food...great staff...friendly environment. We have even held a Car Club Run to this establishment with 40 people not a disappointment by 1...that's 5 star
Dianne Wallyn
Great food. Great service. They’ve put a lot of thought into the way flavours work together and the result is a menu filled with interesting, tasty choices
Warren Irbitis
Had a great ride with my friends and our motorcycles to end the morning off with a fantastic Lunch at a buzzing coffee shop. Nice friendly staff who are keen to please. The food was great and I could have sat back and chatted to the mates all afternoon. Will be back for sure.
Rosemary Bidgood
First my coffee was warm then I complained and asked for hot coffee so the waitress bought me boiling hot coffee and said so as she put it in front of me. After 5 minutes I said to the waitress I can't drink this it's boiling hot! Not an apology or refund. This cafe won't get business for sarcasm ! If they can't make a good coffee and they are sarcastic about it says it all doesn't it?
Linda Mcandrew
Absolutely loved it. The service was great. Enjoyed being able to relax and try foods I wouldn't normally eat. I had Hot Cinnamon waffles for breakfast loved them.

Great coffee, beetroot bread dish was to DIE for as well. Just a nice suburban location to enjoy alone time or the company of friends.

Yum yum yum! I have now found my local cafe, a perfect breakfast this morning - thanks guys

Went to this most amazing place in Ashgrove for Mother's Day! Our first time here and we were served quickly and given little Mother's Day gifts. All the food and drinks were super delicious and presented well. Definitely a new favourite!
Julie Dallimore
Incredibly slow waited an hour for food. No apology, no update nothing. Get that Saturday's are busy but what a joke. But I will say the food is amazing a i was gutted it took so long (it'll be tough gig to get my guys back here)
Megz Llewhellyn
I had the breaky burger - yummy egg yolk, crumbed mushroom, spicy tomato salsa and plenty more

I would never go back. Over staffed but unable to wipe a table after being asked twice. Tried to order breakfast and was told by one staff member she only took coffee orders Some basic training wouldn’t go astray and neither would sections. You’d save yourself a lot of money on waitstaff if the ones you had were capable instead of wandering around unsure what they should be doing!! Plus our breakky was lukewarm
Dennis William Hume
Outstanding coffee & one of the best breakfasts ever
Emilie Klitdal
I didn’t realise that this is one of the few cafés that doesn’t have all day breakfast (on week days). I guess I have to come back to try the chocolate waffle jaffle... Instead I tried the risotto. Today’s version was chicken, mushroom and goat cheese. It stayed so hot for so long! Apparently I don’t like goat cheese, but the rest of the risotto was fine. The Tim tam chiller was delicious!
Dora_SW
Great cafe that always has lots of interesting and tasty meals and a huge choice of smaller items in their sweets/pastry cabinet. Plenty of seats outside with a lot of dog friendly space. The only downfall is that the wait for coffees and meals can be quite long.

Visited this cafe again after almost a year for breakfast. It was raining and there weren’t enough dry tables. The food was great though and we also enjoyed the coffee.

June 2018
Visited this cafe for breakfast. Food was great. We tried nourish bowl which was beautiful, tasty and healthy. Vegans: this is recommended.
Service was good enough considering that it’s a super busy cafe.
I didn’t like the location. I was in the sun and there was no proper shade for lots of tables.
Rob
Great local cafe serving an array of breakfast choices. Both options we chose were tasty and decently sized portions accompanied by good coffee and juice. Looking forward to returning to try other dishes on the menu.
FOODIE ADVENTURE
So impressed with this little cafe. Been wanting to go here for a while now because of the awesome zomato rating and happy to say that it lived up to their rating. Got such a lovely service here and the food was great too. Loved the kids menu. So many great options for the kids. Of course my kids wanted the pancakes and waffles. Both were yummy according to my kids. My got the crispy ginger pork belly salad and l loved it. They even gave me extra chilli as requested. My husband got the grilled chicken Turkish and he enjoyed his meal too. Overall a lovely lunch experience. Also there is a amazing playground a few metres down.

Great coffee, excellent food and good service. Love this little cafe tucked away in the suburban streets. Great to pop in on a Saturday morning after a visit to the park next door. Recommend the buttermilk fried chicken croissant!
Bridget
Love your work! Ashgrove needs more cafes like Famished that serve great food and excellent coffee. You can tell Famished on Frasers is doing something right as it is constantly full. I ordered the Chicken Karaage Croissant and I could not get through a quarter. HUGE servings and the lovely waitress even packaged the left overs up for me to take home. My friend ordered the breakfast wrap and only finished half. Nothing better than walking to your local cafe for breakfast on the weekend.
Dephialis
THE BEST mocha I’ve ever had in my life - you have an awesome barista!

To eat i had the avocado and poached egg on pumpkin bread, and couldn’t fault it. I’m definitely returning and was soo happy with my food and coffee.
Lifelovetravelfood
A nice little cafe with a great menu. We visited here for breakfast as a semi-large group and were seated on the bench seats on the side of the cafe. It was a little bit of a squish, so I'm glad they weren't too busy so we could encroach on the table next to us. We did have three kids with us who take up more room than they should at tables!

Our waitress was very friendly and sweet to the kids. Once our drinks order was taken we were kind of forgotten about and had to wave a girl down to order. I chose multigrain sourdough with avocado and haloumi. My toast was a little 'well done' but the portion of avocado and haloumi was generous. Unfortunately my toddler decided today was the day he wanted to try and fall in love with haloumi so I lost half my breakfast! Two other guests chose the corn fritters and said they were some of the best they'd ever had. A big call cause fritters are a firm favourite and often ordered when we go out for breakfast. Another guest chose the breaky wrap and it was huge! Packed full of what you want in a breaky wrap, she was very pleased and enjoyed it.

Coffees were apparently delicious - coming from two coffee snobs who are hard to please, this was great! Overall we all really enjoyed our breakfast at Famished and even better that it was on the Entertainment Card, this is a great spot and we will surely return again.

Nice decor and friendly service, at a reasonable price.

We came for lunch, and ordered the rare beef bowl, pork burger and berry smoothie. The pork was amazing, but the burger bun tasted stale. The greens in the bowl were great, but the beef was over cooked, and still had solid pieces of fat in it. The berry smoothie was chunky, very icy and lacking in flavour, which was disappointing.

It was their last day of service before the Christmas shut down, so I’d chalk some of the food problems up to that.

We’ll definitely give them another go in the new year.
Lambo Blair
Visited here for breakfast this morning and had some very nice food, dishes we had included the eggs Benedict and also the avocado and feta on toast. Also amazing coffee. Staff were friendly and service was good.
Stacey Tran
Really love this place. Not only is the food amazing, the service is fantastic. Very friendly and thoughtful staff. Great coffee and delicious food, very well presented and tasteful. Love the pork belly croquettes with corn purée, broccolini and poached eggs!
Virginia Szombathy
absolutely impressed with this place -then again, if there's black pudding on the menu i'm usually won over. this place didn't fail me what so ever!!!a lot of love and care was put into the preparation of our food the reason i say this is because whenever you order a restaurant's big breaky they always seem to chuck a whole bunch of crap onto a plate without any care, here it's the total opposite and you can't lose with thick cut bacon. the staff that served us was great and attentive and ensured we were well looked after.
the place is also located stone's throw from a park which is PERFECT for a late brunch with the lil kids.
Mandy Bernadette
Giving a rating of 5 to this amazing place was easy. From the service, to the ambience/decor, to the food and coffee - absolute perfection. Our coffees came in the largest mug ever, we didn't wait long at all for our food and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The FOH Manager Ruby even stopped and had a lovely chat with us!

I ordered the Lamb Shank croquettes and the other half, the Famished Breakfast and a side of sweet potato chips to share. My tastebuds were in overdrive. The whipped feta and beetroot hummus with the dutch carrots and asparagus and the amazing croquettes on top- there are no words. So. Freaken. Good.

If there is anywhere that I would recommend over and over - it is here. I asked if they use local produce and they do which is awesome! Great value for money, great location with ample street parking, seating both inside and outside, excellent staff who know their menus and very very cool, rustic vibe about the place. Please do yourself a favour and try this place!

GREAT! If your out enoggera way then definitely stop in here, from start to finish the staff are brilliant, inviting and well informed about the menu, food and café itself. The pictures do no justice for how big the coffee mugs are, they are huge!!! The coffee is amazing!!! Food wise, chow down on the famished breakfast, you will not leave hungry. Ambiance is fantasic, it has a rustic home feel to it.
Maz
If you are really hungry, I mean really hungry have the Famish'd big breakfast. Thick thick bacon, mushrooms, egg, sourdough, and a lamb chop. Wow. You will be satisfied.
Ashleigh
Had the banana bread french toast; was really different and the presentation was beautiful. Cute café in a great spot, nice coffee and friendly staff. All the meals look great, and the outdoor seating is dog friendly.

Went to this most amazing place in Ashgrove for Mother's Day! Our first time here and we were served quickly by a gorgeous, attentive, friendly waitress who gave us little Mother's Day gifts. We ordered the banana French toast, the sweet potato bread with chorizo, the sweet potato and leek cake, bacon, mushrooms, poached eggs, avocado, the giant mug coffees, an espresso, sparkling water, banana smoothie and orange and passionfruit juice. All the food and drinks were delicious and presentation was on point! New favorite place! Would recommend!

As with the growing army of great Brisbane cafes - this one is up there - good food, good location and great service. While they got our order wrong, they fixed it, admitted their mistake and gave us free coffee while keeping us up to date with how our food was going. Coffee was good, not fabulous, but good. Downside is that while there is plenty of room, the seats are not comfortable - however uncomfortable seats are a cafe tradition to ensure they keep the clientele moving through.

On Saturday morning the Bunny and Bear went to another local spot ‘Famished on Frasers’ and we are already planning a return trip!. Using the two for one Entertainment Book voucher, we purchased a brisket bagel and the Famished breakfast. I was a bit disappointed upon arrival that the menu has changed from the one online because I really wanted the mushroom ragu. That soon changed when we got our food...

Another day, another coffee! Great little joint that is close to work! Had a brekkie wrap as well which was a good size (two thin bacon and egg wraps) which hit the spot! Coffee wasn't as strong as I would like it, but still tasty. Takeaway trip from work took 15-20mins. Must give myself more time so I can sit down and enjoy the atmosphere this place has to offer!
Jo Guest
Loved this place! Great food, coffee and wonderful service! There was a delay on our food, but the staff were really good to come over and explain the situation straight away. Will be back if I'm ever in the area again!
Emma
Not cheap, but a substantial feed of above average quality. The menu changes regularly. Toby's Estate coffee, delicious.

On a weekend, quite dense with pooches and babies. On a week day, army eye candy. Win win really

Long time no blog, folks. This morning my family and I popped over to Ashgrove, Entertainment Book in hand, to use up the coupon (2 for 1) at Famished on Frasers. I had previously been for lunch and had to pretend I wasn't sad their breakfast menu ended at 11.30! It's a bustling corner cafe housed in a converted house, with seating inside and outside on the verandah. The service was great despite some troubles with communication due to how loud it was in the cafe.

I am fortunate enough to call this cafe my local. The coffee is pretty good and the daily fresh muffins are delicious and big enough to share. The menu is varied and enticing and the staff are always friendly.

Recently went to Famished for lunch. My partner had the pulled beef bagel which he enjoyed .However I made the mistake of ordering the lamb salad which was served with kale, feta, lamb and dressed with soy. Sadly the amount of soy was way too much. It overpowered the other tastes. The meal was swimming in it. That is one menu item that either needs to be scrapped or reviewed by the chef. Was pretty disappointed as I have eaten here before and been happy.
Darcy Youngberry
While the coffee is average, the breakfasts are fantastic. I've been here twice and have had the eggs benedict with avocado and mushrooms, and the sweet potato fritters with halloumi and avocado; both were really good, and reasonably priced too. The atmosphere is laid back and Ashgrove is a really nice area. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. It's just the coffees that let this place down, though they do cold drinks and fruit smoothies and things too, I just haven't tried them (yet).

Good food & coffee - eventually. Terrible, terrible service vs good food and coffee! I know it was a Sunday morning but the extremely poor quality of service and the long long time that elapsed while wiating on the arrival of the food on this occasion, was not worth it. Certain menu items also not available - I don't mind this if told up front ie should have been informed when ordering, not 30 mins later! Perhaps new floor staff??

You don't always expect to find eating establishments in the middle of suburbia, but when you do it's often a good sign that it can survive as a stand-alone business in between a bunch of houses. Tucked away down a suburban street in the Ashgrove/ Bardon area is this hidden gem of a cafe: Famished On Frasers . We stopped in for breakfast after walking up Mt Coot-tha one Sunday morning. Needless to say we were famished (and on Fraser Rd) so we took finding a cafe with this in its name as a good sign. The breakfast menu at Famished on Frasers has a really good mix of sweet and savoury options. You can go for pancakes, eggs benedict, or even a pulled pork jaffle. We opted for these two breakfast delights: Quinoa Bircher Muesli with Fresh Strawberries, Toasted Almonds, Coconut Yoghurt Avocado Halloumi with Spiced Pumpkin Bread, Poached Eggs, Herb Hollandaise, Asparagus The coconut yoghurt used in the bircher was absolute top quality, and actually tasted like real coconut, rather than tasting like greek yoghurt with some coconut flavour added in, which is what you get from most supermarket variants. The avocado and asparagus were both at their perfect freshness, which really made this savoury breakfast. The generous slab of pumpkin bread was soft on the inside and tasted like it had just been made, though I didn't get much spice from it. That didn't really matter though when you had hollandaise sauce this good poured over everything!

Great food... if you can wait all day for it. Menu and coffees great, but the meals take F O R E V E R to come out. Don't bring kids unless you like hearing "when will our food be here?". But if you're an adult and having a lazy afternoon, and don't mind ordering breakfast to revive it at lunch time, the. It's worth the wait!

Toby's Estate blend coffee a personal favorite of mine. I noticed some of the pictures on here are showing Elixir blend ? The coffee was amazing, perfectly poured, beautifully smooth with good strength
Mandy
Beautiful food!!! Each element is balanced and flavoured I simply cannot fault this place!!! Thanks chef!!! :))))

First Time Visit. Top service , location and food.Really lovely place. Will return. With so many breakfast spots on offer ,a lovely choice.

Long time customer. LOVE this place!. We have been patrons of Famished since it opened. Love the food, love the venue, love the friendly staff, love the menu!
Peugeot_boy
Underwhelming.... I have dined here once before and loved the experience, so I brought a friend along several mornings ago to introduce him to the place. We started by ordering coffees. My first coffee was luke warm. The second was slightly warmer, but nowhere hot enough. The salmon benedict I ordered arrived and I was confronted by cold, congealed hollandaise, unceremoniously dumped on the plate, splitting from the heat in the eggs. I sent the meal back and requested to have the same again without the hollandaise. I should not have bothered. The smoked salmon was full of brown meat i.e. blood vessels, overly fishy and inedible. The side of bacon ordered was also insipid. I could not bring myself to eat what was on the plate. I left paying full price for the meal with no apologies from the staff. Will not be returning.

Great food.. not so much coffee and atmosphere. We order signature brekky and Love it !! find the atmosphere are quite hectic. the way the shop set up are not comfortable to sit and relax. especially if you have children, they could have more kid friendly corner or some colouring in since the food does take awhile to come out.

Aptly named.. Tried the food at Famished for the 1st time today. It is situated right next to a good toddler playground, so great for mums.

Decided to have lunch here, even though I have had their coffee before, which was weak and pretty mediocre. Staff are nice, though the girl who served me looked quite inexperienced. Ordered Sparkling water, the zucchini slice and a prawn bagel. Asked if I could have the zucchini slice straight away, as I have a 16 month old, and you can imagine how impatient they are. After 10-15 minutes I had to flag down a waitress and ask if she could get my drink and slice for me. People who had ordered coffee after me had received theirs already, so not sure how a drink out of a fridge could take longer. She was very quick and sorted it out straight away. The slice was fine. For $5, it was value for money and tasty. My bagel on the other hand took 35 minutes to arrive. There weren't many tables that had ordered before me so I couldn't understand why it was taking so long. The bagel itself was ok. It came with avocado, warm prawns, a lemony mayonnaise, watercress and red capsciums. The capsciums themselves were out of a tin and werent very nice, they didn't do anything for the dish except to overpower all the other ingredients. Was a shame as it could easily be a nice sandwich.

Would not go back, as I have had a friend who has had the same long wait for food there before.
Erin Martin
Meh. Went there a week or so ago for breakfast... staff were very friendly and bubbly(althogh slightly forgetful) and the atmosphere is very 'chic' ... very noisy though so don't expect to be able to have a relaxing and quiet conversation.

My husband enjoyed his breakfast, but his coffee (bowl of) appeared to be watered down and not simply a milk based coffee (imagine a long black with warm milk added - also almost no head on his cap) ... he drank it, but as a coffee lover, he did not enjoy it. My bagel tasted almost identical to the bagels McDonalds had out a few years ago... perhaps a herbed bagel would have given it a bit more flavour.

We ordered a side of halloumi, which we found to be undercooked (and expensive for the small portion you get) - it was warmed through, but had no colour (other than slight blackening from the grill or pan) and was soggy.

It was an OK breakfast, but overall I was unimpressed.
Eleina97
Went here for my mums birthday on Thursday morning and it was great!!! All the staff are really lovely. We were a few minutes late for our booking but I rang in advance, we were booked in for 2 ppl but there was five us and they were really accommodating and moved us into a really cool room. The whole set out is great and the good was delish! A great find!
Emily Hearn
Iv been to here many times as I live just around the corner. I'm also a chef and pastry chef. Iv never been too excited about the food and last Sunday my partner, 2yo son and I came round for breakfast. It was the worst possible breakfast we have ever had! I had the muesli with yoghurt which was very WARM! And my partner had bacon and poached eggs.. Bacon must have been cooking all morning as it came out as a squished up burnt ball. Defiantly not worth the time or money, so much more could be done here..
Nyr
Love this place. Enjoyed the food and nice coffee.
Libby
Prices high for location and serving size. Eggs were caged and no other options offered. Tasty food but overall disappointed.
Dora
Great!. I'm quite a regular at Famished and I have to say that obviously the other reviews are outdated. Such friendly and sincere people, fantastic and wholesome food and not to mention great coffee.
Looks like a lot of effort and love has been poured into this little cafe.
Vanessa
Worthwhile. Famished ticks all the quality 'hospitality' boxes for me. However the wait staff though not rude, could be a lot friendlier and welcoming. The menu is creative, and the food is always fresh and presented beautifully. And most importantly the coffee is always spot on!
I am a regular there and have converted many others!
Ellie Carlton
I have been to famished a couple of times and have been impressed with the beautiful food and coffee.
The breakfast menu is exciting and exceptionally vegetarian friendly.
The presentation is lovely, and menu items are priced fairly.
Unfortunately, the wait staff are slightly rude. However, the good food, beautiful coffee and warm atmosphere makes famished a 'must visit'.
I will visit often.
Oh, and the banoffe pie is boss.
David Cox
New menu is awesome.... From asparagus to zucchini!!! Simply delicious. Obviously a very passionate chef.... Love ya work
Fiona
I've been to this place a few times the service was great, but they must of changed owners or managers because staff were rude and uninformative, however in my previous visits I always felt very welcomed and informed. I asked them questions about the menu and they knew none of the answers. It was a busy Sunday and hospitality can be stressful but staff were acting like I was an inconvenience. Food was delicious but I won't be back because of the service. For a cafe that was next to a park they weren't very child friendly.
Andy Krista
Overhyped. I should firstly start by saying i am appreciative of how demanding the hospitality industry is - having worked in a variety of restaurants and cafes over the years I have a pretty good understanding of what is required. I also don't usually make reviews but I am so disappointed in the service here that I simply can't hold my tongue (or type).

My girlfriend and I came here for breakfast this morning and after ordering coffees and teas which were prepared well (kudos to the Barista) we ordered our food and were advised that food would be up to a half hour wait - which the waitstaff should probably inform customers upon entering the venue, after all we had made it known we were there for breakfast. Out of courtesy we ordered and waited thinking that would be the worst case scenario. We ended up waiting just shy of an hour with no updates or gratitude from staff for food that would have taken no more to than 10 minutes to prepare. My issue with the wait is that for a cafe that specializes in breakfast, 50 minutes is a pathetic amount of time to wait for some bacon, eggs and mushrooms that were being prepared by 2 chefs in a decent sized kitchen, especially when the place, although busy, was not even at full capacity.

Additionally, my girlfriend paid an extra $5 for bacon on her meal and received a single rasher of bacon on her plate.

Something else I noticed was that there was a man waiting close to 20 minutes for a take-away coffee.

Finally I will say that the food, although well prepared and tasty was not worth the 50 minute wait. I am not even sure it was worth waiting 30 minutes considering the lack of character in the presentation of the food. The service is what got me though. Like I said, for a cafe that specializes in breakfasts and coffees nobody seemed prepared for people to be ordering...breakfasts and coffees.

1/10

Mmmmm!. Famish'd on Frasers is a great cafe - I eat here regularly and every meal has always been really tasty. The staff are very friendly and I really like the location. I have just today tasted their brownie bite (heaven!) and my partner got the Baclava (double heaven!). I would definitely recommend this cafe.

Great local cafe with yummy food, awesome coffee and friendly service! :) never had a bad experience.

Disappointing and overpriced.. Went to Famished for the first time after driving by for many years, and have to say I was disappointed.

17$ for a turkish bread chicken and avocado sandwich with a bit of salad might have been OK if the sandwich was great... but it was very average.

My GF had the Salmon, and again it was v. small for the price.. three small strips of salmon.. She enjoyed it and said it was tasty, but was left wanting more.

Takeaway coffees were not good either... :(

Ok, so I read the reviews. I figured the owners must be interested in their business, so surely they're up to date reading reviews of their cafe. Apparently not. Arrived at 10.50am on a weekday morning to meet my husband with our 1yo. Staff met me rudely stating "theres like only 10-mins left of breakfast" and tried to handover menu. I said "and then is it the lunch menu?" - no not until 11.30am as its changeover so u can have cold food from the cabinet. As it turned out my husband was late, so we made it to the lunch menu. (at this stage, no offer to help get highchair, no friendliness, no acknowledgment of my son. And we sat without seeing staff again or any customers for 40-mins).
There was only 1 vegetarian option on menu - a salad. I asked if they could substitute something on the chicken Turkish sandwich, waiter offered sweet potato, ok (rocket, cheese, tomato, avocado, aioli). My husband ordered BLT, without tomato. Meals arrived - no substitute on my Turkish sandwich, rocket must've been days old as it was dry & wilted; BL[T] must've had tomato on it in kitchen, then they've realised & removed it but left all the tomato seeds & juices all over the lettuce, fortunately he just dislikes & wasn't allergic to it. Staff were pretentious, rude, and unfriendly. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Excellent Coffee. I eat here 2-3 times a week.
Excellent coffee everytime and a delicious breakfast and lunch menu.
Friendly staff and air con for the hot days.
I would highly recommend Famished on Frazers!
Sylvi
Good experience. Was in two minds about trying this one out due to all the negative reviews but it was quite a pleasant experience. Maybe because we went on a Saturday at 11am rather then a Sunday for breakfast, but 8 of us were served quickly, the staff were friendly and efficient, the food and coffee were great. Congrats on their 1yr anniversary. Keep up the same service quality and you'll enjoy many more years of happy customers. Thanks.
Jacca
Amazing breakfast and awesome customer service! Took my friend from Melbourne who was visiting, very impressed!

Lunch. I just loved that this cafe is dog friendly, the service was great and the food is fantastic I love the raspberry and white chocolate muffins we will be back
Kay
Night dinning. Hi I have just had a beautiful meal Saturday night at Famished. We were a large group and service was excellent. A very talented chef, Presentation of food excellent, my only suggestion would be- 'create the dinner dinning' atmosphere. Table cloths candle etc. Well done guys!
MissM
Appalling Service! My friend lives locally and likes having a cafe nearby. We went for breakfast and had to flag down someone to take our order after waiting for approx 15 mins. Ordered coffees first which never came. Had to go to the counter to sort out. Asked waiter about menu items but he had no idea! Staff are very inexperienced and clearly there is no one supervising them. One waitress was complaining about the others and ended up circulating with coffees calling out to tables " who ordered a latte....". I hope the owner reads the consistent reviews about poor service - way to kill a business! We won't be back!

At Famished on Frasers, I've witnessed staff members make sure each customer feels special. This has included staff holding crying babies for parents, making sure special requests are met and providing coloring in books for young kids.
I find Famished to have a great menu variety, they are also reasonably priced..
The muffins are to die for!!

-----19 Aug, 2012-----

The Banoffe pie is to die for! Love how the have Zimel milk, and the coffee is great! Become a regular and they will remember your name and coffee! Eggs beni is delish too!
CEN
The food is good, but the two times we've been there, the service has been bad - slow, confused and order forgotten.
Rix
Famish'd. Good coffee, particularly if you need a LARGE dose. Overall good food but could do with a wider range. Occasionally when busy, staff can forget you.

Yummmmiessssss!!!

Give it a miss!. Had the misfortune to visit this cafe with a business colleague for lunch. Not sure if they know what service is but they certainly had no idea the day we were there. Food was average and overpiced. There are plenty of better cafes around. Suggest you give it a miss.
Linda In Brisbane
A hidden gem in Brisbane. I have now dined at Famish'd three times - twice for lunch and once for dinner. The prawn salad / Asian influence, is super yum-yum with a treasure trove of flavours. For dinner, you must try the pulled pork terrine with pork crackling crumble on top, accompanied with a side of crab 'coleslaw' and semi-dried figs. An odd mix but the flavours really do work well together. Service is prompt, and it is dog friendly with water bowls provided. I will continue to recommend, and will return. A hidden gem in the suburbs that deserves accolades.

As a local & regular customer of Famish'd, I was very disappointed on my most recent visit with a group of 4 family members. We ordered lunch (burgers & chips), paid & when presented with our meal asked for some tomato sauce. The reply? That will be an extra $2. Seriously guys. We would have spent well over $50. It should be complimentary. Charging a whopping $2 for sauce is just ripping people off. We won't be back

Sunday Breakfast. Great service and great food. Wholemeal ricotta and honey hotcakes with sliced banana and strawberries and pistachio nuts was delicious!

Webt there this morning. Good service. Welcomed as soon as I walked in the door. Order placed and as I was with 1 year old I look after I was offered tots Abd a high chair. I have allergies to certain foods Abd was pleased to hear they knew evey ingredient in everything as it is all made in house. Ordered lemon slice and strawberry smoothie. I'll agree it needs more icecream but still made with real strawberries and id still pay for it again. Lemon slice was great. Served warm with cream. I'll be back to taste the coffee next week :)

Had the best lunch with a girlfriend today at Famishd. Located in a leafy Ashgrove street, parking was painless - right outside. So stress levels were nil to start lunch.
Inside was a cool and casual interior. Obliging staff quickly brought an amazing ice coffee frappe and freshly made Chicken Casesar salad with the crucnhiest of lettuce leaves and atop it sat a perfectly poached egg.
I will definitely be back and hope it stays the way it is - the formula is right.

Lovely Staff, Delicious Food and Great Attention to Detail. Went to Famish'd on Frasers this morning with my husband and toddler. All staff were lovely and extremely welcoming.
The girls who were serving were so great with my little toddler showing him where all the pencils were and giving him a special 'Famish'd on Frasers' activity book.
We met the owner who was so nice!
It is a great place and is very accomadating to children and there were even some little pet bowls filled with water for any dogs who were coming with their owners. It is so nice to have a cafe open there again as we are a frequent visitor to The Enchanted Forest playground nearby. We will certainly become regulars!

Amazing. I recently went to Famish'd for breakfast, returned on another occasion for lunch which prompted me to go there for dinner as well. Why you might ask! The service, the quality of the meals and the atmosphere that was created by the owner and the staff are second to none. I could not fault them on anything. The price of the meals I felt were a bargain, especially considering the 'al la carte' style menu and presentation.
Once I arrived and placed my order at the counter (which is the method of order with signage indicating the fact) My friends and I didn't feel the meal took that long to arrive considering how full and busy the cafe was.
I definitely recommend Famsh'd , as the place to eat, meet with excellent food and service.
Try keeping me away..... never :-)

No Service. A girlfriend and I went to Famishd for lunch on 25/11/11. We like to support local business. There were 2 tables having food service, one staff was on a break, and 3 staff were behind the counter. We were not acknowledged when we arrived. There was one menu on the table. We liked the look of a meal another customer was eating. My friend sourced a breakfast menu from next to the counter. This prompted the only contact from staff. He came over and removed the menu and said it was not available at this time. We studied our other menu when he left, chose 2 dishes, put the menu down and waited..... After 8 minutes, another customer came into the store and ordered a coffee at the counter. It is very easy to offer a comment such as "Be with you in a moment ladies". As our custom did not seem welcome we left, VERY DISAPPOINTED and no longer POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS!!

Re Famish'd on Frasers Road, Ashgrove. I went there with friends for a leisurely breakfast after another local friend of mine recommended we go after she told us some lovely Irish/Australian couple were running it now and they were really friendly to her when she went with her children to the opening about a month ago. So we went there expecting great things only to find there was a bit of chaos with the staff and they didn't appear to know who was doing what. I asked some older lady for menus and she seemed really stressed about it and then when we walked up to place our order, it took ages. I mean, we loved the decor and the name and the signage was really modern with a fabulous design that made us think that they really had something going for them. We thought that it was still worth a try so we ordered but it was slow and the coffee took ages to come out and it wasn't hot enough. In fact, my friend's wasn't warm even. We both ordered the same smoothies but it seemed that there was hardly any icecream in them yet they charged us $6 each. Overall, not the best dining experience. They need more suitable, qualified staff who not just run around lifting dishes but also talk to the customers and, if anything, get the coffee right!
