My new favourite breakfast place well worth the drive from anywhere in Brisbane. Fantastic fit out great service and excellent food highly recommend the Hunter, beef & bacon wagyu sausage is amazing as well as the horseradish & dill croquettes
Amazing service, best charcuterie platter I have had for years, great wine list. Can’t recommend highly enough.
My friend and I had brunch there for the first time yesterday and I was blown away by the while experience. The service was great, the cafe was extremely well decorated and designed (it felt like we were at a resort with all the beautiful timber and greenery around), and the food was absolutely delicious! I got the veggie bowl with poached eggs. It was so tasty! And my eggs were cooked perfectly! I loved every bit of my meal! I can't wait to go back so I can try everything on the menu! I will definitely be back again!!! Thanks!
The food was well thought out, sufficient portion size and tasted great. It was refreshing to find interesting options, especially for breakfast. The staff were attentive and the coffee was good. We will return. AND they welcome fur babies!
What a gorgeous little oasis this is and the food was delicious. A group of us regularly go for breakfast and like to try different places. Sunday we went to Hunter & Scout and, apart from the lovely food, we were very impressed with every single meal arriving at the table at the same time. Excellent service .... we will definitely be back.
Delicious food. Everything perfect. Great service and with all the focus on coffee these days it was so good to get an absolutely awesome pot of tea brewed to perfection. We’ll be back !
Food of high quality and staff were very friendly and kept us in the loop - didn’t matter that the food took a little longer. Great space especially the courtyard!
Great place..great food..large portions..staff very accommodating and friendly..will definitely cone back..thank you!
Went to Hunter & Scout for the first time yesterday. Great staff, lovely food. All-day breakfast, cooked to perfection, in a comfortable, shady, courtyard setting. Who could ask for more?
Beautiful ambiance, helpful & friendly staff & yummy food and drinks - a great place to hang out with family or friends.
Absolutely loved this place! Dined here for lunch today and the staff were more than accommodating to us 4 adults and 3 babies. Staff were very friendly and the service was great. Food was delicious. Can't wait to go back again!
We loved it at Hunter & Scout. At first we thought we weren't going to get a table outside but they soon had us sorted and seated. The menu was varied with lots of yummy, not so usual choices all at very reasonable prices. We had the salmon dish and the steak burger with the lychee juice and Holla Berry juice. All of the food was delicious and well presented. The ambiance is spectacular for a suburban cafe. The only downside was the trek to the bathroom with a more than obvious large silver spoon to hold the key and out the back which is fine for the day light hours, not so much if you were evening dining.
Beautiful place, beautiful food and mostly excellent service! Perfect. Highly recommended. Even our dog was welcomed
Fantastic!!! Wonderful lunch, couldn't have asked for a better atmosphere, well done will recommend and visit plenty more.
Walked past this cafe on one of the Sunday morning, I noticed that there were many people having their brekkie at its al fresco dining area. I stepped in to have a cup of coffee.
Service is very friendly and I ordered a cup of flat white. It did not take a long time to have a nice presented coffee with a green color coffee cup on my table. Well, I have not had a cup of Fonzie Abbot for a while and it does satisfy my palate. Well done!
Best scrambled eggs in the world! Literally the only cafe in Brisbane that provides a veggie breakfast which is actually filling and worth the price. Everywhere else is just "sourdough and some eggs, that'll be $20 please". Highly recommend, yumm
Think I’ve found my new favourite place for brekky, and I’ve been to many in and around inner Brisbane.
Prompt efficient service With a smile and everything cooked to perfection.
3.5/5
When our original brunch venue fell thru, the day was saved with this alternative on the fly. The late Sunday morning queue spoke for itself with a very tidy setup of tropical oasis outside and Parisian cafe inside.
After a protracted & patient wait, we were rewarded with pleasant meals. Of particular note was the lemony zing of the hollandaise sauce on the three cheese hash brown benedict + its perfectly poached eggs. Remaining meals were inhaled hungrily without complaint. Coffee on pour is Fonzie Abbott, flawlessly executed, producing sexy layered macchiatos.
Only thing that missed the mark was the classic vanilla malt: what it lacked in malt, it made up for in cream - I’m not sure that they knew how much dairy was too much.
Not faultless yet still of a calibre that we’d return again if in the area.
Had only the desserts but it was delicious! There was the brownie and apple crumble which came nice and warm with ice cream, whilst the presentation of the turkish delight cheesecake and passionfruit butter cake were spot-on.
Hunter & Scout is a gorgeous cafe is Graceville! The area out the back is beautiful and the perfect surroundings for a lovely morning with family or friends. It can be very busy and sometimes hard to get a table. The menu is extensive with an incredible range of food to suit everyone, it can be hard to decide! The service was great, the staff were accommodating and friendly. They have weekend specials which are always delicious! The hot cakes are my personal favourite. These decadent buttermilk hot cakes are the perfect combination of fresh, sweet and rich. The Oreo milkshake wasn’t very Oreo and could do with a bit more chocolate and Oreos. Serving sizes are perfect and it is reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend Hunter & Scout!
Delicious and refreshing take on porridge. Perfect for the chilly winter morning, but still interesting enough to justify going out to breakfast. Paired with a delicious coffee roast from Fonzie Abbot. A wonderful cafe experience overall- the vibe and atmosphere is welcoming and cosy.
Lovely staff and seating, beautiful outing and beautiful food. The food and drinks are reasonably priced considering the value of the food and service.
Ok this was NEXT LEVEL! I was taken here for my early bday dinner last Friday - the food was exceptional! The staff were so friendly and the food came out really fast, which was great because we were hungry! We had beautifully cooked lamb cutlets and out of this world wild mushroom and sugar snap pea spaghetti - I am STILL dreaming about that spaghetti. But the lamb ohhhh it was all cooked to perfection. It was cold outside, but wow the back outdoor area is going to be amazing when the weather heats up. I would eat that spaghetti all day erryday if I could.
School holidays means brunch with my old work colleagues and I finally had the opportunity to find out what the fuss is about Hunter & Scout!
Even on a week day it was super busy with mums and older teenagers having lunch and coffees. The outdoor area has a very relaxed tropical feel with beautiful palms and tropical plants in large pots. So relaxing!
Again another place with an all day breakfast menu (loving it!!).
We had to wait till they cleared a table but we were promptly seated and waters and menus arrived shortly after.
Coffees ordered straight away. I ordered the Apple and Potato Rosti Benedict which is served with wilted spinach, 2 poached eggs, herbed hollandaise and I chose to have it with smoked salmon. My friends chose the beef wagyu burger with a side of chips and the Avocado on Rye with a side of bacon and a poached egg.
Our coffees arrived promptly, but were not very hot and went down too quickly. The coffee flavours were bold and smooth.
The meals took quite a while to arrive, but we had a lot to catch up on, so not too worried about the wait. The meals are on the pricey side, but I must say presentation was excellent and everything tasted amazing. Everyone was very happy with their meals. The smoked salmon was excellent and the herbed hollandaise made the meal. I will come back again.
This is the best breakfast I have had in recent memory. I had “the hunter”, which is the big breakfast. It was flawless. Kudos to the chefs, they are masters of their craft. Everything at hunter and scout works, the decor is fantastic and the attention to detail for the fit out is superb. The bustling ambience created by the customers and music is spot on. I highly recommend. Would give more stars if that was an option.
Coffee came out after the breakfast food so was a little disappointed as I love to savour that morning coffee brew. When we did receive our flat whites which were Fonzie Abbot blend they were quite delicious & presented well. Food also was looking pretty on the plate despite it beind simple avocado Partner had some delicious fruit toast. The breads were wholesome & nutty on both counts & the seating area garden was pet friendly
Amazing decor and outdoor setting. For the price, I expected more quality with the food and service. The rice in my poke bowl was quite hard and watery. A tad disappointed.
I visited Hunter and Scout on a Sunday for lunch with friends. I rang a few days ahead and was told we weren’t able to take bookings for three people but they had plenty of tables so it wouldn’t be an issue. We still had to wait 15 minutes which I know isn’t a long time but just something to be aware of.
Our orders were taken promptly and I was disappointed to find that while you can add items to your food, you can’t make any substitutions due to the kitchen being busy. I wanted to change poached eggs to scrambled, so I didn’t think that was a big issue but this wasn’t allowed so I had to find something else on the menu to have. I understand they do it to keep orders flowing through the kitchen quickly but I was a little disappointed and it does seem quite inflexible.
I love that they offer the full breakfast menu all day as it is truly and excellent menu. So many good options to choose from. I picked the olive sourdough with avocado, roasted beets, black sesame and haloumi. It was absolutely delicious – full of flavour, good sized portion and everything was well cooked and tasty. I also had a ‘make your own’ juice which was also excellent, but VERY expensive for the size of the juice.
The whole menu is not cheap. My juice and breakfast came to almost $30 which is definitely on the high side.
Service was great, food came out fairly quickly and the it’s a really lovely atmosphere. Despite the cost and small niggles, I would return for their really great food.
Such a beautiful cafe! We had a lovely breaki there today. Big breaki was done well, the tomatoes were a highlight. I had the croquettes with salmon & halloumi, the salmon was a highlight. Not a huge fan of the croquettes. Keen to try the king prawn omelette next time. Coffee & juice was on point too, I'd definitely recommend this cafe.
Great atmosphere beautiful service and delicious food. Great coffee and healthy food options. We had a delicious fresh juice and a great almond milk coffee.
The courtyard outside is a lovely place to sit, with great style and decor. It is dog friendly too! I have been here several times since opening, and you can see minor changes each time. Staff are very attentive and knowledgeable and coffee is good. The sweets cabinet is very different to other places in the area, including some delicious cheesecakes and slices to try.
Loved this cafe for so many reasons!
- delicious coffee (most important)
- interesting menu (I had beautifully cooked scrambled eggs and bacon)
- high quality fit out of classic old school building
- gluten free options
- really great kids menu (son had French toast)
- friendly staff and fast service, were good with kids (btw, so there for early breakfast wasn't busy)
- the cakes looked yummy (will try next time)
Definitely coming back!
What a gem finding this place is. Went for lunch last week and had fab steak s'wich burger with hot mustard slaw, horseradich cream, beer and bacon jam , soft bun and delicious crunchy chips with rosemary. Dining friend had Japanese inspired Poke bowl - deliciously flavoured and spiced. Lovely pot of leaf English b'fast tea. What a fantastic garden setting with an all weather retractable roof coming soon. great service too.
Great good and excellent service! Tried this place for the first time yesterday and I will definitely being going back! Great service! Excellent coffee and the food was delicious!
Stunning café with a nice slightly interesting menu. Had a lovely brunch with the girls and really enjoyed my meal, although slightly pricey, but that's a minor complaint. Unfortunately they don't take bookings on weekends which has made me think twice about returning on a Sunday with 7 people which is a shame
Been here a few times now and pleased to have a good additional option in the area. The coffee is improving each time I go. Cakes are good.
We have done breakfast twice now. My dish was over seasoned (almost far too far gone but I removed the wilted greens which seemed to bear the brunt of the sodium) but the eggs were great.
The courtyard is great but COLD! It is definitely a summer breakfast destination but by then I hope they have some shade sails up (both to block the sun and catch the falling October flowers!)
2 out of 3 I've been there have been teething problems with service / eftpos connections.
Not a bad place. I'd come here for an occasional cuppa. There are better breakfast locations but I am expecting it to keep improving and I would give lunch a try.
Well worth a visit for breakfast. Large outside area with blankets on every chair if it's chilly, which it was when we visited. Lovely seated area outside, spacious & tastefully done. It is on the pricey side & you can't swap options in the breakfasts i.e. swap bacon for sausage, so it can be expensive if you want to make changes to their options. Coffee was good, recommend a visit.
Lovely garden themed outdoor ambience, relaxing and great for photos. Food and coffee was not bad. Had the lamb shoulder salad, mocha and a juice. Worth a visit.
Lovely ambience, music and the decor is on point! I love green leafy foliage and this cafe had plenty of outdoor seating. However I'm not sure what happens when it rains because it was all open air. Going for Saturday brunch, the wait wasn't too long and the service was attentive and friendly. There was a bit of a wait for the food to come out but the coffees were fast and so delicious. I ordered a soy dirty chai which was amazing and didn't even taste like soy (I had to confirm with the waitress that it was). A fly unfortunately flew into the coffee but the waitresses happily replaced it for me. The food was amazing and very filling, a little on the pricey end but well worth. Overall very happy with our experience and can't wait to come back!!
This place is something else!! The atmosphere is great, the service is great, the staff were friendly, the menu has great range!! I opted for the veggie bowl with poached eggs and I was stoked. The only problem I have is when I go back do I stay with the veggie bowl or change it up!! Sooooo goood!!
nice spot - lovely outside. nice coffee and nice food. i love that you can design your own juice and they'll make it fresh for you. would go back.
Hunter and Scout has been on my cafe list for a while now. My sister-in-law picked this place for our brunch date. This cafe has a beautiful selection of food. Farmhouse bowl is definitely a must-try. I also recommend sitting outside; it gives tropical oasis vibes and is cute for photos.
• housemade granola bowl w/ seasonal fruits
• sweet corn fritters + bacon
• farmhouse bowl
• farmhouse bowl + bacon
Really happy with our breakfast at Hunter and Scout. Super friendly, helpful and efficient staff. The decor is really nice in the outdoor section with big Balinese fans, heaps of healthy hanging plants, bamboo screening, etc. Food was tasty and well priced and the portion size was really generous. Staff were really attentive - one of the mums ordered marshmallows on the side of her hot chocolate so that she could give the marshmallows to her son. The waitress brought a couple of extra marshmallows for my kids so that they didn’t miss out. We didn’t ask for them or mention anything - she was just attentive enough to know it would make a big difference for the kiddies. Will definitely be back.
Oh yes, and the coffee was great!
What a gorgeous find! A hidden oasis in the heart of Graceville. We went for brunch and our meals were timely and delicious. The staff were super friendly. We were there so long we then ordered afternoon cocktails 🍸🥂
Good Vibes💕 Cosy garden setting cafe. Beautiful presented food. Smooth coffee & friendly service 👍
We were there for breakfast, service excellent, food delious and reasonable priced. I highly recommend this venue and trust me you won't regret it, enjoy as we did.
Great little cafe but it was a bit cold today and a breeze blew through which took away from the ambiance. Very nice food and friendly staff but it took a while to get our order taken and it took a while for our food to come out. They were super busy so it wasn't for want of trying. I'll keep on coming here when I want to impress my wife on a date.
