High tea delicious and value for money. Loved the bubbles too.
We booked in to have dinner before seeing Kinky Boots and had both chosen the 2 course + side+wine for $70.
We were provided with beautiful grain bread and butter on arrival and 2 glasses of bubbles as requested. I requested the main of the beef tenderloin and the dessert of chocolate delice in which I was advised that it wouldn't be able to be provided as 3 seperate meals on the table wouldn't arrive on time. (This confused me as it didn't make sense as I wanted a main and dessert and my housemate wanted entree and dessert which I would have happily had dessert first!) so i opted for the charred prawns. Divine! Perfectly cooked, the coulis was delicious full of tomato and basil flavour, and the fennel was tender and the aniseed flavour complemented everything.
Loved loved loved the Tenderloin but was confused by the spring roll on our plate. Turns out that's where the brisket was that was described on the menu.
Definately will be back!
We ate dinner here after an afternoon show. Bookings are recommended. We made use of the two course, side, and glass of wine for $70 per person. I ordered the sautéed Mooloolaba king prawns for entree. The prawns were balanced beautifully by the tomato coulis and fennel. For my main course, I ordered the kingfish and a side of hand cut chips with garlic aioli. The accompanying spiced cauliflower, rice and lentil pilaf was sensational.
This meal just made me want to come back for more, such was the care taken in all aspects of preparation and plating. Our table service was exemplary. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Our table also provided a good view of the clean and well managed kitchen. We'll be back!
We had dinner here tonight after an early show and couldn't fault either the service or the food. We chose the 2 course, side and wine for $70 which was incredibly good value. The hardest part was ordering as there were 3 entrees and 2 mains that I really wanted to try. In the end I settled on the simple half dozen oysters followed by risotto. The oysters came with a dipping sauce which was too overpowering but this didn't bother me as I just wanted lemon squeezed over them. The risotto looked like a work of art and tasted delicious. The vegetables were unnecessarily covered in sour cream but were otherwise delicious. Service was fantastic!
Excellent food - one of the best steaks I have had in a while - service was great. Food is better than the cafe style decor suggests. I would recommend if you are going to lyric theatre
Dined here 14/5 prior to seeing La Traviata. Great food and courteous service. Waitress confirmed that we were seeing a show at 7:30 and we had plenty of time to enjoy drinks and all 3 courses without ever feeling time pressured. Food was presented and cooked beautifully. Highly recommend the salmon. All in all a great experience .
Excellent service. For my birthday, wife took me to dinner at Lyrebird, and play at QPAC after.
Arrived at 6 pm, immediately seated and drinks provided.
Menu and wine list has good variety. Enjoyed chef special, steak and crab. Cooked to perfection.
Food was served promptly allowing us time to enjoy dinner, drinks and desert, and make it to play without rushing.
Highlight was excellent service. Lauren and Aly made us feel welcome, and regularly checked in with us. Aly provided finger bowl without us asking.
Happy to recommend.
Five stars
Service here was fantastic and so was the food. Loved the whole experience.
I Don't Like Cooking
+4.5
This time it was good. We have had positive and negative experiences with The Lyrebird in the past, but last weekend we booked a pre-show dinner and were more than impressed with this restaurant.
The staff can disappoint and this has been the main reason for annoyance in the past. This time they were fairly good, but not wonderful.
We both had the duck for our main course. It came two ways; slow cooked leg and fast cooked breast. The breast was a bit underdone, but the leg was delicious.
Overall we enjoyed our experience. I hope it is as good next time.
Pre-Show Excellence. Beautiful restaurant, excellent food and supremely good service here. Would recommend booking a table early they do fill up quickly. The meals were extremely fast as we had to see a show, the place is catered to get you in and out quickly in time for the show however if you leave enough time you will have a very enjoyable experience.
Excellent pre theatre meal last week. Good variety. Delicious and modern. Attentive efficient and professional. Highly recommend.
Well we were pleasantly surprised by some of the wonderful dishes that we received throughout the night.
I think this is worthy of five stars. We came for dinner prior to a show so it was a pre-booked sitting. But honestly the staff were lovely, the food was excellent and we were served efficiently so that we were ready in time for our show. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would definitely come again.
The food is always nice, you order and pay inside and get a table number. Get there early as it can get very busy. Typically a meal costs around $22 for crumbed fish and chips. Menu has gluten free options.
Good idea to make reservations (can prepay for 2 or 3 course meals).
Excellent table service. Great location if you are going to see a show at QPAC; restaurant asks which show to help timing.
We pre-booked dinner as we had tickets to a show at QPAC like many other people do. The staff were great, and confirmed our QPAC tickets from the start to ensure our 3-course meal would be completed in time. The wait time for each course was absolutely fine, the food (images attached) was all soo delicious, we finished dessert and left right on time to catch the show. 5 stars & would happily return.
Very nice atmosphere, extremely attentive staff. Some courses were exceptional, the striploin steak perhaps a little tasteless. Highly recommended for an enjoyable pre-concert dinner.
Very positive surprise. After checking the rather average reviews we were reluctant to have our dinner here but the experience was superb in every way. Fast, efficient, attentive service, a nice romantic location and food that was just delicious. The meals were lovely presented in an upper-scale and creative way. Everything tasted well and there were fantastic and advanced combinations of ingredients and spices. We loved both the main meals and the desserts. Not your average meal out, quite the opposite! A very unique experience! We will go there again before QPAC performances as they also consider the time of your show start.
Absolutely first class food and service. The menu is modern and the cooking and presentation is exemplary. A wonderful restaurant for a pre- theater dinner. The food came out very promptly leaving plenty of time to enjoy without feeling rushed.
I had The Caramelized pumpkin and sesame parfait with Parmesan cream ($18.50)The flavours were light and balance with wonderful presentation followed by Cone Bay barramundi with ancient grains and pea puree ($33.50). The fish was outstanding beautifully cooked and and the accompaniments great. For dessert , I was being a hog and had plenty of time, I had their Chocolate Delice (14.50) and again great but a little to rich for me.
The service was great and attentive even though they were extremely busy. I cant wait to go again
Most amazing, delicious food.. credits to the chefs and the team.
Looking forward to coming back soon.
