Perfect little corner Restaurant, it was busy with one staff member behind the Bar.
Blonde lady was completely in control. Super welcoming and by far the kindest waiter we have experienced. Food was fast and the best Guinness Pie I have ever had! �� 100% recommended over anywhere in Southbank.
gad a Serving of their Fish And Chips. The batter was crispy and the fish just melted in my mouth. Also the chef was happy to reheat dylan's pasta. All up including a beer and an orange juice it cost less than $28.00. They now have a customer for life.
One of my go-tos at South Bank. Good serving sizes for a reasonable price, and I’ve never been disappointed by the quality of the food.
Last visit was before a show at QPAC and we got our food quickly. My Nana said her lamb shank sauce could’ve had a bit more flavour. My chicken schnitzel burger was great, but the $3 add on for a few average chips was a little disappointing.
Love this place. Often eat here with my family of 6 after a day at Southbank. Good wholesome pub food. They also offer friendly service. we will continue to visit the hop and pickle.
Good choice for lunch. The menu is interesting with lots of choices at good prices. My burger was nice although the meat was a little undercooked for my liking. Lovely setting opposite the park. Excellent service by friendly staff.
Nice spot to visit on the edge of south bank, tends to get a little less crowded than the middle. Six of us easily seated at lunchtime walk-in, $10 burgers were decent (bread robust, veg and pickles nice and crispy). Kids loved their chicken nuggets and shoestring fries, barmaid very friendly and engaging with the kids. Only 4 pines and stone and wood on tap, but don't need anymore - just head next door to tipplers tap if that's your thing.
I like the idea and was pleased to see someone taking fermented food seriously.
Very good for your digestion. Too long to wait, and not enough staff, would be my criticisms.

Yum yum... Ate here on a busy Friday night but no problems for the staff. Happy and helpful. Had the pulled pork burger which was delicious... Nice range of beers but more on tap would be good. Want to come back for the traditional Sunday roast. Do yourself a favor!
The service at the Hop and Pickle is outstanding, best I have experienced in a long time. There is a great choice of food and beers too. Highly recommend
I really enjoyed our meal here! Food was gorgeous, staff were SO friendly and chatted with us. We felt really welcome and had a wonderful evening. We ordered: the deep fried pickles, pork belly, calamari and dumpling share plates and then had a steak as main. Loved every part especially the pickles, just divine you will not be disappointed
Good pub food in relaxed atmosphere... love the fried pickles! Also the kitchen is open later than some of the other Southbank joints which is a plus after a late movie!
Enjoyed relaxed lunch there on Australia Day. Loved the chicken wings, deep fried pickles and steak sandwich. Service was good however wine and beer could have been colder.
For little bar in appearance, the staff are not want you would think, stardard services just there to pour you a drink. The make an old fashion that competes with bourbon Street that's across the path, and for a few $ less. Added bonus cause I was hungry, the cook a great chicken wing, not some scrawny Ethiopian chicken, but nice meaty ones cook throughly and consistent. Competing for busy with food and drink outlets, five me a shot, I personally don't think you will leave disappointed.
Food was amazing, atmosphere was perfect perfect above all the service was phenomenal. Highly recommend this place. I'm a huge Gin person and I couldn't get through this collection. We can back 3 days in a roll and everytime was the exact same. Love it
Great location, friendly staff, tasty food and cold beer
Went here for dinner last night - We wandered in and were welcomed by super friendly staff. Ordered drinks and dinner, both our meals were great except for a share dish, however we felt it was not an issue with the dish - just wanted what we expected. Anyway we explained this to our server when she enquired how everything was and she compensated us for the meal we didn’t eat. It was such a surprise and made us realise that this venue understand what’s ‘hospitality’ is all about.
Great work guys - awesome venue!!! Highly recommended.

We both had chicken parmas. Mine the Queenslander, partners the Mexican. Both delicious and the size of meals are huge!! I'm not a fan of coleslaw so was hesitant, but the dressing really made it. YUM. Also we had the curry chips to start.... again YUM
Staff are extremely friendly and service is fantastic. I highly recommend
A great place, with a great vibe.
The food was good but I couldn't get a steak (which is what I felt like) because it was an extra $6 for a salad, on top of $36... and you can't have steak and chips without a salad.
