Review Three Girls Skipping - Brisbane

Always a popular brunch spot on Saturday mornings. Majority of seats are outdoors so prepare for the elements. Food tasted great, I had mince on toast. Cakes are delicious here also. During busy times, there’s a slight delay with getting food.

No matter how busy it looks , service is always prompt, coffee is great and there is so much to choose from which never fails you. Was not happy with the noisy table next to us and maybe sitting people a bit a apart will help

Always such friendly and attentive service at this local favourite. I had lunch today and had the souffle, absolutely amazing! A coffee and some take away homemade Kingston biscuits for the afternoon pick me up. Highly recommend to all!

Great coffee, great food and great service. I LOVE the staff. They are the best part of my morning. Anyone who has reported a negative experience is probably an absolute tosser.

Ordered long black and feta + veg toasted sandwich. Tasted sublime, sandwich was stacked full of great veg (pumpkin, eggplant, zucchini, capsicum) and sauced up with house made relish and aoili(?). Perfect meal to start the day. Long black was okay, left a little to be desired but other than that was a great experience. Service was excellent too

Good coffee. Good service and good breakfast options.

I have driven past this little cafe for a long time and am glad I stopped in for breakfast. The food was delicious, service was quick and friendly and the coffee was on point. Price was a little bit high hence the 4 stars. Parking in the he local streets is also limited.
Jacqui Wilkins
Really nice coffee and the best muffin I’ve had in a long time.

The cafe is so beautiful and convenient. The staff are always lovely and incredibly helpful. We recently got Three Girls Skipping to cater a party and the food was just divine. Caroline and her team were super helpful throughout the whole process and also sourced amazing local cheese for us. Everyone raved about the food and cheeses. Coffee and cake at Three Girls is always outstanding, as are their breakfasts and dinners. I would highly recommend Three Girls Skipping for a casual meal or catering, they were perfect.

I just had the best meal of my life at this hidden gem in graceville! What an amazing meal- 5 course taste sensation ! Service was great, ambience was fabulous.... nodding off dreaming about that scrumpscious cherry pie - thanks for making our Valentine’s Day

I think this is probably the first review I have ever written on FB, but it needs to be done. This is easily the best bakery in the WORLD, and my family and I visit it 2-3x a week! We can't get enough, and no matter what we order - it is always delicious and leaving us to want more. We've never had a bad experience! Best staff - extremely polite and accommodating! They even know my favorites now! My top 2 favorite cakes: flourless chocolate cake & baked salted caramel cheesecake (wish you guys made more of these though). The scones are incredible aswell! This is probably in the top 3 things about Brisbane I'll miss once I leave. Keep it up guys, you are on point! xxx

Another lovely meal with great service and surrounded by special friends life doesn’t get much better than that. Thank you once again to Caroline and your wonderful staff for a superb Christmas in July dinner.

Went for a nice breakky a bit ago as heard great reviews of this place. Ordered eggs benny and orange juice, plus grabbed a glass of water. All I could taste on the eggs benny was an absurd amount of hollandaise sauce; couldn't taste anything else as it was drenched in the sauce. The glasses must not be cleaned well as there were oil droplets or something in both water and orange juice, so completely turned off. Unhappy with meal, I went and re-ordered a completely new meal and set aside the old one, of the breakfast salad (uncertain of the name) which was delicious, and an iced chocolate.

I would definately recommend this cafe. I met a girlfriend here for a very yummy and enjoyable dinner. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food most delicious. Thank you.

Beautifully decorated table. The beef with parsnip sauce was delicious and dessert was was more so! Our waiters were polite, on point and amusing. Great night, delicious food and awesome company.

6:30 dinner booking. Arrived and got pointed to a table and not ushered. Waited for 10 mins before a wait staff come to ask us what we would like for dinner. Did not get an explanation that they only do set menus. Did not get asked about drinks order. Wait staff indicated they will grab us some water, which never came and we had to ask someone else. 8:20, left cancelling dessert. We finished mains and table cleared about 15 mins before another table but they got their desserts first. Mains wasn't bad but need the service to match guys.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to write a review! Three girls skipping has been our go to cafe for years. Their relaxed atmosphere and beautiful cakes make for a great cafe experience. But it’s their exquisite weekend dinners that are our absolute favourite. Grab your significant other, a bottle of wine and enjoy their delicious dinners and delectable desserts. You will not be disappointed! Can’t wait until next time!

I had the pleasure of tasting the raspberry and lemon sour cream cake yesterday and can thoroughly recommend it , especially as a birthday cake. It was visually breathtaking and the taste was sublime. I'm hooked!!!

Omg your Gluten free chocolate/rose petal cake is amazing thankyou for making such a yummy gluten free treat for us Coeliacs

fantastic experience. never been disappointed. I normally order coffee and cake - cakes are absolutely amazing I ordered poached eggs on toast with avo the other day and it too was great. I've ordered a few full cakes as well and are such good value and superbly baked.

Great coffee. The caramel cheesecake is to die for, but shouldn't tell anyone because I don't want it to be sold out when I get there. Great staff too.
Trina Leiper
Very friendly staff! Best dirty Chai I've ever had. This is defs my go to coffee place now!!
Gabby Pieri
Grabbed a takeaway coffee from here this morning and, in just the short time I was there, I felt so welcome. The staff were all awesome - made me want to stay and just be friends with them tbh. Coffee was AMAZING. Exactly what I needed! I had a large dirty chai. Would drink again.

Had a lovely breakfast. Ordered the eggs Bennie and loved the bacon. The only bad thing I could say is, the coffee could have been hotter.
Cliff Weier
Very popular cafe, simple order at the counter format. Have had Breakfast and Brunch here plenty of times and have never been disappointed by the service, coffee or food.
Checkout their Facebook page for take home dinners during the Covid19 event.

Pleasant suburban cafe, tables are mainly out on the pavement so it can be sunny or a bit cramped for larger groups. Coffee was okay. Tomato tarte tatin with pesto & eggs didn't really come together well for me - tart was too sweet but it was nice enough. I wouldn't mind going to this place again but I wouldn't cross town for it.

Was disappointed in the visit, considering the place has such a decent average review score?

This was a breakfast visit on a Sunday.
No direction from junior waitress. No greeting or even a smile. After standing out front for a bit and waitress passing us with no interaction, we assumed it was grab a table and find some random menus and order at counter.
Found a single menu sitting on a random shelf and ordered (a minute after I ordered, a huge line to order formed).
Food was a little slow coming from kitchen, but they seemed quite busy so I can understand that.

Although for the prices they charge here, you would expect table service or at least water top up (cafe seating inside is such an awkward set up, it’s difficult to keep getting up to fill your water from their one big water cooler at the entrance). Would be good if they offered even filled bottles you could take to your table?

Food was okay. However I do wish their menu stated “streaky bacon”, as my side of bacon was mostly just over fried fatty bits.

Probably wouldn’t go back. It was not an overly comfortable and welcoming place.
$51 for two meals and two drinks.

Had mug of soy and lactose free cappuccinos as usual, was quite good, on the more bitter end of the spectrum. Found a seat round the side in the shade with some breeze opposite the church. Quite close to train station and pretty easy to access by bike too.

Friendly and popular neighbourhood café. But that undersells it. Perhaps the highlight of Three Girls is their dinners on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday with the menu posted on facebook earlier each day (2 courses, main and dessert with garlic bread nibbles). Always executed well with perfectly cooked proteins and classic flavour combinations, not to mention the great desserts. Nothing overly adventurous but high quality, consistently good, tasty dishes. I never order chicken breast when I go out, but here, I often do. Its' crispy skin and juicy and luscious meat, sometimes served on a lemon pea risotto, sometimes with tender, respected vegetables and a flavourful and nurtured jus. The pork belly is always a star, loved it with the celeriac remoulade one time. And the slow cooked lamb shoulder is as always a crowd pleaser, my favourite occasion was when it was paired with a vibrant green olive tabouleh, which perfectly offset its meaty, slow cooked, lamby goodness. The best thing is, each day is different and the menu is predictable to a degree but always has a variation. To top it off it's BYO too! You must book in advance to avoid disappointment. Lovely sitting out on the pavement in a quiet neighbourhood with fairy lights and good honest food. Perfect for a family or friends get together or a romantic and unfussy dinner for two.

Have been to this cafe a copious amount of times and am always happy when I leave. The food is simple but always full of flavour.
I usually go for breakfast to get a savoury muffin or avocado toast but went for lunch and all I can say was yum!
The Buddha bowl that ordered was so delicious and full of flavour. And the tofu; wow! Cannot get over that. Definitely would go back for lunch now that I know that bowl of deliciousness is available
My dad ordered the ham and cheese toast is as always (his go to meal at any cafe) and it is usually really yummy here but today the bread seemed very thick.
Overall I would recommend this cute cafe because the atmosphere is nice and it is usually pretty full.

What am absolute rip off! $19.50 for one tiny bit of toast and 2 whole halves of a small avocado and one tomato??? The avocado and feta wasn’t even smashed up. I’m still at a loss to understand how they can feel good about serving something like this for the price they charge. Highway robbery seeing it probably only cost them $4 to make- MAX!

The fact that I went home STILL hungry is just not good enough. When you’re paying this much you want to be satisfied.

I don’t often rate people low but I feel in this instance it is absolutely warranted. If this was served in Melbourne (the home of the smashed avo!) they would be absolutely laughed out of town and go broke as people just wouldn’t go there.

Let’s not even mention the service- or lack there of it.

Definitely better finds to be had in Brissy than this rip off joint!

First time here to Three Girls Skipping this cosy little cafe situated on the corner of Honour avenue was very busy many people populating the outdoor roadside eating area as well as filling some seats inside. I ordered a soy Chai And a spinach , pumpkin and Feta quiche which was cooked to perfection, light , crisp and crumbly as one would expect from a butter rubbed base. The filling was light and tasty with real chunks of pumpkin and small pieces of feta served with a baby side salad of rocket and garden veges.
I personally didn't like the soy chai to much but I loved the quiche and salad. The service was polite and courteous the food came out after about 12mins which was fine !! I will be back.
Thanks SARDS.

Had a pre christmas dinner here with friends. Great location and the food was good. Prices were reasonable and the service was good. Would recommend this to others

Hello, they keep getting slammed for the time you have to wait for meals, but they don't seem to learn. We waited over 45 minutes for our mains. Yes it was busy, but considering there were only 2 mains to choose from - seriously? The food was great when it came out, but the moment was over. Why ask for feedback if you don't act on it?

Really lovely ambience and service. I enjoyed the coffee and service. The food was good but I wouldn't say it was exceptional. Nevertheless, this is a great destination for a weekend tête-à-tête with friends!

An unplanned trip to Three Sisters Skipping - it was a busy morning with all the tables inside and out filled with diners. There were no tables available. However, I managed to grab a seat after waiting around 10mins at the counter. The staff were attentive and immediately had the tables cleaned for me 👌🏻

Their weekend menu and 'special menu' introduces an adequate amount of choices. I was contemplating between their Canadian Waffles or Potato Croquette. Somehow, I ended up with neither and went with the Breakfast Roll instead 🙄 My caffeine fix was a Flat White today.

Despite the hectic morning, my coffee and food arrived reasonably quick. Coffee was nice and hot, and the brew wasn't bad either :) My breakfast roll came to the table, cut in half exposing the goodness inside: Lightly Toasted Ciabatta with Bacon, Fried Egg, Cooked Spinach, Tomato and Relish. A much enjoyed first meal of the day :)

Would come back to try the Canadian Waffles!!

Friendly and attentive staff! :)

Thank you, Three Girls Skipping!

Always busy here so we visited for breakfast. The food & coffee was very good, service wasn't quite so. It's a shame the seating is right on the road, although it's not an overly busy road. We'll visit again, although our favourite is still a short walk from here.

10/10 for amazing cakes! They make them to order too for a competitive price. The coffee is ok...too bitter for my liking but people seem to enjoy it.

Been here for breakfast and food was great. Coffee was good too. I'll definitely be back - for the cakes! I couldn't help notice them in the display cabinet

Nice coffee, nice cake, atmosphere lacking. Staff weren't rude, but seemed bored and felt like work to get them to tell me the cakes in the cabinet that didn't have labels even though the place wasn't busy. No prices on the cakes (which I don't like). It's a bit spartan and exposed on a cold day, but plenty of tables. I would try again, but maybe not too soon.

Had a fantastic Tuesday night dinner at Three Girls Skipping last night. The food was absolutely delicious, some of the best I have had in Brisbane. The pork belly and duck were cooked to perfection and the desserts were truly divine. The service was also wonderful. We were always well attended to, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We couldn't fault the food or the service and will definitely be coming back!

Was looking forward to having breakfast here due to some very good reviews but the whole experience was very disappointing. Ordered what I thought was a pretty simple straightforward breakfast, toast with poached eggs and bacon but what came was very substandard, hard overcooked bacon, toast that my family and I couldn't even cut through and overcooked poached eggs that tasted of vinegar, not pleasant to eat at all. One member of staff halfway through our breakfast took away the salt without even an acknowledgement and certainly didn't check in at all to make sure we were happy with our meal . Maybe I should have just stuck with coffee and cake !

Located at a prime position near the Graceville train station, this cafe has a high exposure in the local area. Walked in and ordered my coffee and one of the Today's special of breakfast "Pea & Zucchini fritters, poached eggs with ham". It was much appreciated on the nice coffee art with the coffee. If I didn't had the better cup next door, I might give a tick to the Genovese coffee that they served, however, it really lacked of the strength that I expected. The seriously let down was the fritters and poached eggs. Fritters were large in portion but they were all bland while the poached eggs were overcooked. The whole dish was lack of seasonings and I felt so disappointed that I left over more than half of the dish that I just did not like to carry on. Having said that I believed that it would be occasionally fault that happened since other reviews of this cafe were quite positive. I would definitely return to try again.

Cake Yes, breakfast NO!

I love this local cafe for their amazing original cakes and nice coffee. The chocolate raspberry is popular but in my opinion no where near as good as the changing selection of tea, fruit and polenta cakes.

Breakfast however is a different story. We waited almost 60 minutes in the hot sun last weekend for breakfast. When it came the eggs were over cooked and everything was just sad.

There are barely any shaded tables. In my opinion cafes in Qld should be required to provide sun shelter. We all scrambled for hats / shawls but the boys got burnt and we all sweated at 8:30am on a hot Brissie day.

I'll be back for a 3:30 cuppa, but never again for breakfast. Such a shame. An easy fix for a bother staff member in the kitchen and 4 Bunnings umbrellas.

Let me start with their cakes... Wow do they come up with some tasty homemade cakes. I usually try a different piece each week and I can happily say that each one is as delicious as the next. The polenta cake is definitely a stand out, with such a moist texture that is to die for.
So having been waiting to try dinner we finally made the trip. Can I just say all the staff here are amazing and really deliver good customer service.
On the menu were 2 main options and 3 dessert options (roughly $40 per head- 1 of each). The pan fried Salmon was cooked perfect and the addition of the fresh herbs in the dish really enhanced the flavours. Also the beef brisket dish was so tender and fell apart with your fork. Very nice flavours in both dishes.
Desserts, there was a sour cherry and custard dessert which showed a good contrast between sweet and sour. One of my favourites was a chocolate delice which sung with different textures making the palate more excited with each bite. All in all a lovely evening was had. Although do be prepared for a little wait as they do get booked out. It's worth it though.
My partner took me to 3 Girls Skipping for my birthday dinner last week, and it was amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, and bravely sung me Happy Birthday with just the two of them! They did their job extremely well and made us feel valued and welcomed. The meals were exquisite. I got the duck confit with blue cheese salad and it was SO GOOD! He had the braised lamb and wild rice salad and it was great too. For dessert I had the poached pear, raspberry and chocolate cake and was divine (one of the best desserts I have ever had). That wasn't all for dessert though, as they had also made a moist, dense, DELICIOUS flourless chocolate cake. The table felt very private and was surprisingly cozy for it being outside. BYO is also a great plus. I honestly could not fault this place, such a great night.

Three girls skipping is a cute little local restaurant. Have been here for dinner a few times and the food is lovely! Dessert is always my favourite...the chocolate fondant pudding is to die for! Amazing cakes and slices always line the cake cabinet. Lovely to see a local cafe doing well!

A cold morning. The usual cyclists' braggadocio. Good breakfast but I can't remember the details so that means unremarkable. Varieties of cakes inside look unusual and interesting. Always popular so that means something. I'll try it again.

This cafe is amazing what a hidden treasure! Great cakes, coffee and service. What more could a girl want!!! I will be definitely be going back!!

The stock standard breakfast , but tasty nonetheless. I ordered a skinny "mug" coffee and it was either burnt or made incorrectly as it was so, so bitter!! My partner's coffee was lovely though. Such a shame there isn't consistency in the coffees. Otherwise a cute little hangout, nothing to write home about though.

Only got a take away coffee, which was so bad I had to throw it in the bin. Given a coffee is such an important part of a great meal I wouldn't go back for food no matter how good it is.

I love this place and I come here all the time. They never fail to produce amazing cakes and coffees. Just one criticism, that they can never seem to understand.....They can't make poached eggs!! I'll ask for them runny and no matter what they always aren't! :( Other than that amazing service, food and drinks!

Happy weding guests!. Three Girls Skipping catered for our small family wedding recently in the church across the road. They provided a high level of service and a very tasteful 'alternate plate' 3 course meal. Local & overseas guests commented on their high standard. Bride & groom very happy!

Good food and excellent coffee. Lovely tasty fresh food, delicious cakes, friendly service and the young lad barista really knows how to pour a great macchiato. Well done :)

Great Breakfast. Went with the family and was lucky enough to score a table almost immediately. Drinks came out quickly. Coffee was good. Hot breakfasts followed and went down a treat. Eggs benedict was very nice. Only slight disappointment was that the kitchen ran out of ham. There is a food store across the road! Apart from that small issue, the ingredients were all fresh and very tasty. Recommend.

Why serve a 1cm quiche deep?. I don't understand stingy-ness. A decent quiche is 4-5cm deep. To get half an egg, 1/8 cup of milk and a few gratings of zucchini on a layer of pastry is so terribly disappointing. I'll go back for the cakes but not for the savoury tart.

-----30 Oct, 2014-----

Why serve a 1cm quiche deep?. I don't understand stingy-ness. A decent quiche is 4-5cm deep. Average Service. Average service. Placed our order with a young man at the counter who didn't seem to actually be listening - he had to repeat our order back to us several times. The food arrived quickly however one meal arrived with ham instead of bacon (as ordered), and the other meal arrived with butter instead of ricotta and honey (as ordered). This was quickly rectified however a stray piece of ham was later found in the Eggs Benedict - the chef had obviously just recycled the meal by removing the ham, adding bacon and pouring on some new hollandaise. Unimpressed.

Despite this, the food was tasty and the coffee good. Perhaps it was a trainee staff member?

Average. Pastries look too much like they do at Hilton Brisbane, Look too Mass produced.

Outstanding Service. Thanks for the lovely lunch and service my family received on Monday just gone, my Mother is quite elderly and frail and the wonderful lady behind the counter could not have been more helpful and outgoing, its lovely to see old fashion service has returned and it made my families day not to mention my Mothers.
Cheesypuff99
Great Service. Today was exceptionally busy at Three Girls, but the lovely lady behind the counter, Tracey, made the long line of people laugh, her smile never left her face, great job Three Girls, great breakfast, great coffee and most of all great service.

Absolutely amazing food! I had the pork belly. Desserts are all home made too, fresh and delicious!
Meegoreng
Caketastic!. Bloody awesome cakes... quality old-fashioned cakes with equally good service. Will be back for more!

There is a reason why this place is always busy.. This place is busy because it is great at what is does. It serves good quality if unadventurous food and amazingly good coffee. Actually the coffee surprised me. My cappuccino was smooth, with silky froth on top, just the way I like it. I also like the vibe of this place, as it is a pleasant place to sit and idly while away the hours.Ah the serenity.
Awgs
Amazing cakes. Best New York baked cheesecake I've ever eaten - hands down!

Sadly slipping - kitchen closed 30 minutes early...birthday lunch. We have been to Three Girls Skipping many, many times, but have noticed its previously high standards are slipping. Yesterday is an example. Seven family members liaised at 1pm for a light lunch, including my parents who are 84 and 88yo...it was my birthday. Unfortunately, at 1.30pm when we lined up to order we were told the kitchen had closed early; the reason offered was "sorry, we've had alot of orders and it's busy". There had been no announcement of the intention to shut kitchen service down. The kitchen's advertised closing time is 2pm and the café stays open 'til 3pm. We had travelled from Kenmore, Annerley and Spring Hill to meet here. Disappointing to say the very least.

Three Girls Skipping - Graceville, Brisbane. Made with care from a Parisian chef, and that is enough to catch most peoples' attention. Both my dining buddy and I were on the western side of town - not really either of our stomping ground - for some social arrangement. He mentioned that afterwards he was going to feel like a coffee, from a drive around the neighbouring suburbs a few suspects were lined up and considered. This one, from beforehand, was one such choice to select. Just by how many people there were there, it was looking like a good choice - and it was.

There must not really be much around the suburb, as this seemed to be the hub on a Saturday afternoon. It is just across the road from some train tracks, a few other suburban shops are on the adjacent street and the biggest landmark is arguably the cinema. It is the quiet part of town here, therefore when something catches on people will inevitably be there.

Just how it managed to put so much into the small area is amazing; none of it looks or even felt cramped. Plenty of space on the pavement is utilised with al fresco tables. Service is friendly and well-organised. When placing an order, your name is asked for and taken then announced when it is ready. That means, we are off to a good start. Assessing the menu, there is the usual array of base breakfast dishes at cafes and off the menu, it would be a sweet tooth's delight - plenty of freshly prepared cakes et al. All of this looked very nice, and in the vein of the Parisian cafe they were attempting to replicate. However, it was a couple of coffees to go for us.

The coffee blend they use is Genovese, which in experience I have found to be one of the best blends. As usual, the expectations of it were met. It was again, with the double shot cappuccino (complete with the chocolate dusting on top; now I am now back in Australia for sure) and it was delicious. The body of the coffee was full, and it had both strength and depth to it. It was extracted correctly, a drinkable temperature (overseas, you can burn your lips just touching the coffee when it comes out) and both the milk and espresso were co-operative in bringing about their qualities.

On the side, I decided to get a strawberry friand to go with the coffee. This, without mincing any words, was delicious. It had a dollop of cream on top, several lots of fresh strawberries and the cake part of it - simple, but that beautiful combination of a well-done cake with butter and subtle flavours of vanilla. The texture was soft, and easily pulled apart without too much crumbling going around (some of it is a given). The size of it was also a little bigger than most servings from patisseries; certainly a tasty little treat.

Three Girls Skipping is another example of a great little suburban coffee shop without the appearances of hipster or other stereotypes associated. Full honesty is here, with the efforts coming from elbow grease. Just to think the hearsay is that the coffee and cake is but one aspect that is done well and with the utmost care. Certainly a great place straying from the yore of the majority.
Serene476
Cold coffee. Our 3 coffees were served very cold (its not the first time its happened there). So, we asked for them to merely heat our coffees. They insisted on making fresh coffees, but unbelievably, they were cold also.!!! At that point we gave up.

I often come into Three Girls in the mornings (I recommend their granola and coffee!) I find the girls there to be really lovely but it seems they need some more runners in those busy times. I have seen quieter cafés with more staff. Recently I overheard one woman (maybe the manager) swear at a young waitress- very off putting. I would have preferred to wait a couple of minutes longer for my coffee than hear that rubbish! Nevertheless definitely worth a visit if you need a coffee in the area. See you soon girls!
Kayley Jacobs
This café has one of the rudest managers I've ever seen. Unequal treatment of staff, blatant verbal abuse in front of the customers. Very poor professionalism. The atmosphere as a whole is hugely discomforting, and the food is nothing special. Would not recommend this cafe to anyone.
LifeInTheNorth
Food is fabulous and coffee great but the service has been a bit rude on more than one occasion.

Wonderful surprise. What a fantastic find.
Excellent food.
Extremely friendly staff.
Efficient outdoor heating
Handy location.

I will be looking for an excuse to go again soon.
Thank you for a wonderful night Three Girls Skipping.

Had brekky here this morning and it was quite nice. The avocado on sourdough with roasted tomatoes and a side of feta was very tasty and generous in size. Had to ask for a wedge of lemon to go with the avo on toast (which most cafés usually always give you with this dish). Coffee was nice but my skinny flatwhite wasn't as hot as I would have liked.

Earlier this morning we thought we'd try this place for coffee and a small bite to eat. At 9am there were about three other groups of people who had already ordered. We decided on three coffees, one croissant and one fruit toast. The waitress gave us attitude when I asked for no honey with the fruit toast. We received our coffee within ten minutes and then proceeded to wait another thirty minutes for our food. The waitress brought the food out separately, offered absolutely no apology for the long wait and slammed the plate of fruit toast down in front of me. Even the couple next to us seemed shocked at the attitude we received. A forty minute wait to put toast in a toaster and warm up a croissant is simply unacceptable and the level of service was absolutely appalling. Would not recommend.

The food is always delicious and the coffee excellent. Service can be a bit hit and miss - friendly, but leisurely. The prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food.

This has been my favourite cake shop since its inception a few years ago. Not only are the cakes always incredible & most of the time still warm from the oven, the chefs are so friendly & always cater to my needs. It's also at the top of my list for dinner. Overall, amazing food at a price that won't break the budget. Best cakes in Brisbane by a long mile.

A wonderful night with 3GS. Just got home from a wonderful night at 3GS. The food was amazing, full of flavour and very tasty. The mains were outdone only by the splendid deserts! Couldn't have felt more welcome by the wonderful staff; friendly, engaging and warm. I would highly recommend 3GS for a change of dinner routine - great value and a fantastic, simple experience.

Great experience. Loved all my experiences here. Ive had breakfast, lunch, dinner and cake and i must say dinner is the stand out for me. Meals are always amazing and so well priced. You can never leave hungry either. I highly recommend his place :)

Best cafe in Brisbane. My new years resolution was to explore new places to eat and I came across this little cafe by accident. how beautiful and Cosy this cafe was.
I was overwhelmed with the selections of cakes I wanted to buy them all but i ended up getting the passionfruit meringue cake oh my I've haven't had my taste buds jump around in my mouth like that in a long time! great coffee, lovely staff I think I have found my favorite hide away looks like there will be no exploring places to eat for a while!

So good to find an excellent local eatery!! Came out of a movie at Graceville's Regal Cinema, and thought we'd try 3 Girls Skipping for dinner on the next corner. It was great, the alfresco dining was fun, and the food fabulous....

Fabulous cakes. Had a coffee yesterday at Three Girls with some friends. Coffee was great - but the cakes were the highlight. We shared three different types, with my fav being the Apple Sicilian cake. Chocolate Sour Cream cake came a close second. A very enjoyable sujourn and a big thank you to the friendly staff for their recommendations.

Great cakes. Cakes wonderful, service friendly, coffee adequate, ambiance roadside.

Went for dinner last night and was very surprised by the standard of food. After going to lunch a few months ago I was not looking forward to going. At lunch we had poor service and uninteresting food. Last night was an eye opener. Surprised only 2 main dishes and unfortunately did not eat either but they served me chicken which was wonderful. What a great place will definitely be going back.

Beautiful Food spoilt by unfriendly staff. This was really my favourite cafe - absolutely beautiful cakes - delicious!! but the experience is soured by two of the young female waitresses who are continually rude (slaming down plates at the end of the table without asking who ordered what, cutting you off when ordering with a NO THATS A BREAKFAST ITEM!! etc etc) wears thin after a while and you stop going - such a shame. Customer service is important in every business.

Favourite place in Brisbane!. I absolutely love going to TGS. The staff are lovely, and it is a great location for any occasion, any time of day. The food is light and tasty, and the cakes are to die for. Try the home made lemonade!
Sim
Great place. Always love coming here for dinner. Staff are friendly and the food is always fantastic. The desserts are great and there is a great range of cakes to choose from. I will be back here again next weekend!

Always Impressed! (dinner). Note: this place is a cafe by day and a restaurant on friday nights. I have visited the cafe twice and thought the barista/cashier was quite rude and impatient and the cooked breakfast was ordinary. My restaurant experience, however, was completely different and very positive.

My partner and I actually really like that you don't know what the menu will be until the last second, it's exciting. And we never worry we won't like it, we've been there 3-4 times and it's always been absolutely delicious. Good quality, tasty food. Even last night, they had pork belly or fish with fennel; I dont usually like pork belly and I can't stand fennel, but both dishes were cooked perfectly and the flavours were just right. The desserts are also surprisingly good. I find it nigh impossible to find a restaurant that can pull off both dinner and dessert, but they put just as much effort into their sweets as they do their mains. It is also important to note; the service at night has always been lovely and friendly. I dont know if it's different staff during the day since there are many complaints by other reviewers, but the night staff make it a pleasure to eat there. Great job, TGS!

Needs a lesson in PR. Don't ever try and learn what's on the dinner menu before 1.30 pm when the Chef arrives....nobody knows !! big problem !!, Conundrum arises...You don't want to book on the off chance of not knowing if either of the only 2 main dishes ( set menu) are not to your liking !,but if you don't book without knowing then you won't get in !!!
A lot of misinformation was given to us when we approached the cafe 3 times on the same day....not good..please get your act in order, if you were in a larger Capital City your business wouldn't last 10 days with this attitude
Caitlin
Amazing cakes and drinks - had a to die for hot chocolate. Eggs Benedict was oily and hollandaise sauce was a little flavorless. Good service.

Coffee is always perfect, it's so good I always want a second one. Food is simple but very tasty, it's Definatly my pick for graceville.

There's only one word to describe the cakes at Three Girls Skipping - Delicious! Their food is always fresh and the staff are always friendly. It's an ideal place to indulge on the weekend - the only problem is that all the cakes look so good that it's often hard to choose what to have!

Different!. Had dinner at TGS's last night. Call me old fashioned, but I really prefer a menu to look at! Even a blackboard would suffice. The waitperson offered steak, lamb or duck and apple crumble, chocolate fondue or bread and butter pudding. The food was magnificent! Cooked to perfection and presented simply. Portion sizes were nice and large. The place was packed and the two floor staff had their hands full, but handled things very well. Kitchen was given top marks for throwing together a 'vegetarian' dish during the rush! All-in-all a good night had by all....

Good coffee and salads, but grumpy staff. I have had salads, cake and coffee from here. They do a good job of all these things. Some of the staff are a bit grumpy though, so they could improve in this respect.
Carmen Sandiego
Absolutely delicious chocolate/raspberry cupcakes. Light and fluffy, not too rich or sickly sweet.
Bluesrules95
I needed catering for a lunch and Three Girls Skipping made for me the most delicious roast vegetable quiche and a salad filled with goodness of barley, beetroot, pepitas and more! It was lovely, thank you!
Anna
Perfect for a relaxed coffee and breakfast on the weekend!

Not that great. The food always looks nice but isn't. The service always looks good but isn't. The tables look nice but aren't.

I'm guessing the atmosphere always puts me off.

Yum. Love this place! Come here often with my mum and puppy. Their cakes are so delicious and its great to go somewhere where its all home made. The breakfast is ok, but its more of a coffee and cake place to me.
John
Coffee great!Service a Way to Go!. Enjoy the buzz of this popular café. Great coffee always. Was not impressed when two people who came well after us were served first. Customer service matters!

John

Just wonderful. This is just the most wonderful cafe! I have never come for dinner, but my partner and I keep coming back for their beautiful breakfasts and lunches. It is such a treat to have such a huge selection of freshly baked cakes, muffins, biscuits, friands, etc, as well as a to-die-for breakfast and lunch menu. Everything is delicious, and often very creative. They also make a great ice coffee if you ask for it without syrup, a rare thing in Brisbane! Staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and I have always thought the service is excellent! However anywhere which is as popular as Three Girls (a product of their wonderful quality food) is going to have occasional days when the staff are run off their feet but I have never (in dozens of visits) heard any of them being rude as a previous reviewer claimed! I can't imagine what they are talking about!

Stopped in for dinner after driving past constantly and seeing the place full, got told it was a set menu but changes every night and couldn't be much happier that we did. Food was fantastic, service was fast and all at a very decent price. Highly recommend

If you like off hand service and adequate coffee, then this is the place. Have decided to make today's breakfast treat with my youngest child my last at this quaint little place. Sick of the rudeness.

My mum and I love traveling from Kenmore to come for the amazing cakes but as I am a savory girl and vegetarian I love the pumpkin sandwiches/ wrap but you always run out of most rolls even by 12, maybe a suggestion to hold mor stock over lunch as I've had to leave twice because your out :( or being able to make new rolls on order would be great, was very sad I couldn't sit today!

Graceville's best kept secret. Three Girls Skipping is a favorite local. Annie and Cyreeta make the best coffee and are always very efficient but the most lovely staff. The food is very restauranty in quality and always delicious. The breakfasts are awesome as are the cakes which are made in house unlike most other cafes. Pete also makes the most divine salads I've ever eaten. Three Girls Skipping will be a favorite of mine for a long time to come. Also you must try the Sicilian Apple cake and the roast veg focaccia. They are both delicious.

Not worth travelling for. We thought we would grab some gluten free cakes takeaway. They only had the chocolate cake. The staff member was also rude.

Excellent coffee, great environment
Andy
Great food, poor customer service. Such a shame, this little cafe could be so much more. It's well set out and has some really nice food and the sweets are delicious. However, the customer service is appalling, some of the younger staff are friendly but the rest are grumpy and uninterested in the customer. So overall not a very nice environment.
Tim
We have had dinner a few times at this cafe. While the food comes slowly, it is made up for in the meal's quality as well as the enthusiasm and lovely attitudes of the two young waitresses who serve there. The best things about this place are the great quality food at reasonable prices, it is byo, & the staff welcome our dog as well. They even asked if they could get anything for him.

We loved it and will definitely be going back.

Visited this little cafe over the weekend.

I was dissappointing to say the least. Being pregnant I ordered a Decaf, which would have to be the worst decaf I've had yet, my guest ordered a regular flat white. Both were watery, not sealed correctly and luke warm.
I asked for a replacement regular which was nearly as bad as the first coffee.
There was no follow up to see the second coffee was ok.
For meals my breakfast companion ordered the poached eggs, with a side of bacon.
Firstly I was over charged for the dish as apparently the menu prices are incorrect. I was not advised this, just charged $18.50 for 1 coffee poached eggs in toast with a side of bacon.
No butter was served with the toast and no salt n pepper was to be found anywhere.
I ordered a croissant, which was tasty enough.
Overall I would not recommend this little cafe for breakfast, coffee and cake may be ok as the cakes looked lovely, however you may not be guaranteed a consistent coffee:-)

4 out of 10 from me.

Huge waits when busy. A friend and I decided to grab a quick coffee and fruit toast before movie and waited almost 30 minutes! The fruit toast at $6 was very overpriced considering we got only two thin slices.

Best cakes in Brisbane. Ok, so the bad reviews here tend to be about the breakfast, on which I cannot comment. However, I dare you to find one about the cakes. 100% first class, home-made and amazing. I know cakes and these are good - nae, the best. The lady who owns it / manages it is just a delight and so friendly which makes it a must!

Amazing. I have been been a barista for 9 years and coming to three girls skipping on a recommendation, was a delight, I know for a fact that I have the most fussiest coffee order. I love my coffee and I love it even more when its made with love and done right. The service from two girls was great, they smiled and laughed with me and did their best to accommodate my odd request, they listened and got it right and really did it with a smile.
I ended up staying for a piece of cake as well and a lovely chat to the staff and some regular customers, especially to the pastry chef, I think her name was Jen (sorry if i got it wrong), she was so nice and makes such beautiful cakes. I am going to now make this my everyday coffee stop, even though it puts 20 mins on my trip to work!
Thanks guys, love your work and keep it up!
Lacie

Dissapointing. Two people were treated to a birthday breakfast earlier today that left them feeling disappointed. Poached eggs were cooked beyond what would be considered edible, iced chocolate drinks consisted of warm milk, filled with ice cubes and chocolate syrup that they obviously didnt have time to stir as we were instructed to stir our own drinks as they were put on the table...$4.50 for warm chocolate milk. The male behind the counter seemed reasonably interested but female staff were unfriendly and looking like they wanted to be anywhere but here. Our first experience and definitely our last. Too expensive for such disappovery average food and service.
Orange Blossom Special
Top Notch!. This place is fantastic! And quite popular, despite not having any signage. This hasn’t hurt Three Girls Skipping at all as word of mouth has certainly spread like wildfire! Scrumptious desserts and high quality ingredients, this place is worth going to as a destination in Graceville!

My partner and I had been in a butcher shop one weekend when one of the employees overheard that we were trying to decide where to go for a lunch or snack. She piped in and recommended Three Girls Skipping and raved about how good it was. With her directions, we headed out.

We walked along Honour Avenue with lots of little shops and cafes but couldn’t find Three Girls Skipping. As we had come to a corner and were looking around, we noticed we were standing by a very busy coffee shop. Peering inside my partner seemed quite excited with the selections of desserts so we went in and soon found out we were in the right place!

The guy behind the counter was very friendly and answered lots of our questions. It was hard to decide as everything looked so good! There were mostly desserts with only a couple of savoury items in the snack department, but they did have a tremendous looking quiche and some other light meal-type choices.

My partner was eyeing the Sicilian Apple Cake and I wanted to try their Savoury Muffin, which together came to $11. The only problem I have with this place is that there are no prices anywhere. No chalkboard or menu and not even little signs in front of the items in the glass case. I hate to look cheap and have to ask what everything costs, but as a consumer, I’d like to be informed. That being the case, we just went with the flow and overall the price wasn’t too bad.

Luckily we grabbed the last table for two outside as this place was flourishing! After a slight wait, the gentleman whom we’d ordered from, brought out our items. He was so nice and had warmed up my savoury muffin even though I hadn’t thought to ask for that. I’m glad he’d taken it upon himself to do so as it made my savoury muffin scrumptious! Inside it consisted of tomato, bacon or ham, green capsicum; I believe onion and a nice amount of herbs. The base for the muffin itself was dense enough to hold the ingredients which were in large pieces, so they hadn’t all sunk to the bottom. So delicious and mouth-watering fragrant, this was obviously a high quality savoury muffin! One I would definitely come back for!

My partner’s Sicilian Apple Cake was so fantastically gourmet! Made with large chunks of apple in a pastry that was no doubt made with lots of butter. It tasted just like apples and was not sickly sweet like when restaurants compensate with large amounts of sugar! The Sicilian part to this dessert was the thinly sliced toasted almonds baked into the pastry adding a wonderful complimenting flavour. Absolutely incredible!

We left feeling like we were floating on cloud number nine and walked around to peer inside once more before leaving. We met the owner who told us that they were closing and we said we had just been here and was taking another look. We raved to her about how wonderful our choices had been and in that it was end of day, and there was one more savoury muffin left, she packed it up for us, at no charge, to go! What a lovely lady with clear understanding what gestures like this will do to insure repeat business! We will most certainly be back and will have no problem promoting this place by word of mouth about how wonderful the quality is and how spectacularly we were treated!

Great Concept!. We watched this shop open & have tested this place out on & off since then. The food, location & setting is great but i'd love to see the girls smile more! Don't seem to get that "warming feeling". Cakes are beautiful :)
Sam
Love this place - staff are warm and friendly. An old-school approach to customer service; they take the time to get to know their customers rather than churn you through. The best place we've found for sweets and cakes in Brisbane - fresh, delectable and irresistible. Today we had some eclairs that would have rivaled those we tried recently in France. Well worth the stop.

I truly love this place! We moved to the area 12 months ago with a brand new baby. The girls at three girls new my name within two visits, always greeted me by name with a big smile and life saving coffee! I go most days - sometimes for just coffee, but often for lunch or a gorgeous cake. My husband and I also enjoy great dinner of a weekday evening. Caroline, surita, Adele, Bridgette , renae and all the staff always make us feel like friends rather than just customers- fabulous food, warm friendly staff, great coffee- couldn't ask for more!!
Meg S
Terrible service. Slow and disinterested.
Came for breakfast - bacon and toast was overcooked. I dropped an egg on the floor and asked for them to bring me another one. 20 minutes later I was still waiting and the rest of my breakfast was cold and ruined. No one came to ask how our food was and didn't notice when we left. Need some serious lessons in customer service.

Fabuloso. I spend many a hour idling away the time in this cafe. The food is wonderful, especially the cakes and scones, and the coffee is terrific. The always cheerful staff are prompt and friendly and they treat you like a favourite relative. Well done Caroline!

Relaxed and easy going. This is my favourite local cafe. It delivers consistently exceptional coffees. Breakfast is simple and not extravagant or overwhelming.

Brilliant coffee, brilliant food, friendly staff, I absolutely love this place, probably my favourite cafe in Brisbane. Highly recommended. the negative reviews for TGS generally seem to be from people who arrive at hecticly busy times. The reason its so busy is because its the best around.
Gastronomygirl
Like a Home Away from Home. What can I say...the food, atmosphere, cake, cake, cake...beautiful beyond words. The manager, Caroline, is simply a delight. She is generous to her regular customers offering tokens of her appreciation and makes one feel like a old friend. Try the avacodo tomato and feta toast, salads, cheesey toast and ALL the cakes you can! You need to visit a few times to truly enjoy all this cafe's sumptuous delights. Like Mana from Heaven.

Great Coffee, Food and Service!. I go to Three GIrls Skipping on a regular basis.. and have tried almost all of the menu items..and i love every one of them! Especially the cakes which you can also buy whole. Coffee is great too, and friendly staff. I highly recommend a visit to this cafe!

Quite disappointing in that I was completely ignored by the waitstaff on two occasions whilst standing at the counter. The coffee and food might be nice but I wouldn't know because I left.

Skippity Do Dah. Love This place - my daughters and I come a couple of times are week - we are cake junkies and I am simply addicted to the flourless chocolate cake - dark and rich and almost like a souffle - sensational. There are other great ones too, amongst them the coconut ice cake. The coffee is always good and the staff are friendly and efficient.

Gorgeous Girls.... Divine cakes, especially the spiced apple tea cake. Not usually a fan of this type of cake but this version has changed my mind. The coffee is consistently good, the hot chocolates outstanding. My only whinge is that it gets busy and full and finding a seat is often a challenge. The outdoor area could use some shade too. The lovely lady owner is just a delight and I love going just to say hello and have a little chat...oh and some cake!

Delicious Eggs Benedict and great coffee. We got a table straight away, too, unlike other reviewers. Perhaps it pays to visit about 11.30?
YumCa
Yum!. Gorgeous cakes, great coffee and some yummy lunch options. I've been once and am keen to revisit. Only downside is it's very cramped and had to wait for tables to be cleared for us to be sat down. Otherwise two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Sandwich perfectionists?. What makes a great sandwich? The bread? The fillings? The spread? Well it's a combo of all things and Three Girls Skipping are the masters at making the perfect sandwich. I know Three Girls Skipping is normally known for their decadent cakes and coffee but when I got to try the toasted vegetarian sandwich on the weekend, I was in for a treat. Tasty slices of roasted pumpkin and zucchini seasoned delicately, complimented the feta, which complimented the chutney and the pesto (house made I was told), which complimented the toasty focaccia bun. The textures, the tastes, all worked marvellously together. Just the right amount of each ingredient...mmmmm.

Best breakfast in ages. I can see why this place gets busy. Had the best breakfast here today (even better than the gunshop cafe). We saw two couples leaving because they couldn't find a table. This place serves simple food but done well. You can tell high quality ingredients are used. The wait staff were friendly. The barista could have been a bit more cheerful. She seemed stressed as she barked out coffee orders. Our coffees were also only just warm. Apart from this little downside, everything else was just fantastic and we'll definitely revisit. If you get the chance to come here and there are no available tables, it's worth the wait!

Perfect!. Service was excellent as was the food. The cafe was busy but the staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. I enjoyed the quiche and the flourless chocolate cake was amazing. Food reasonably priced. A great atmosphere and very pleasant experience indeed. This place is a gem!
Laura Bradbury
The service here is really ordinary. Our order has been wrong twice now and it takes quite a long time to get coffee. Less chatting between staff and some organization skills would really help this place. Perhaps a staff attitude adjustment also - if you get my order wrong it is your fault, not mine. An apology wouldn't go astray.

Great Food/Coffee but poor service when busy!. I went to 3GS for coffee and breakfast with friends. The setting is really nice, however things turned ugly from here. Firstly the stuff from the previous people was not cleared for at least 20 minutes. This was eventually done when our coffees and food came. We then had to wait another 20 minutes until after we had finished to have our plates taken. A 2nd set of friends arrived and we again ordered at the counter. My friend asked for some water and was offered nothing but a point at a water jug. Things had got a bit busier by this stage and all hell had broke loose. Our coffees took about 15 minutes but the order was completely wrong and 1 was forgotten. This was fixed but our food had also been forgotten. I asked the young waitress where the toilet was. Her reply was "We don't have one" I asked if she could find out and she said "i don't where it is, im new". I at least expected "ill find out for you" but she simply went on her way running plates. I eventually accosted the barista for the directions. Eventually we left with our plates etc still all over the table. Overall the coffee and food is really nice, but i don't like having to chase my order or be ignored by the staff. 1 more waitress to run plates would help as the other is tied up at the counter taking orders. Perhaps today they were simply understaffed?
Martina Bilek
Fantastic staff, gorgeous barista who makes wonderful coffee! Food is delish!

Delicious !!. This place combines the most friendly service with a stunning decor & casual atmosphere, great food and the-best-coffee-ever !! Can't wait to come back :)

Luscious!!!!!. Anything created with cream and eggs is going to be pure delight - but Carolyn Jones and her taste artists at Three Girls Skipping have produced some food to die for. Anita's cheesecake served slightly warm with lashings of double cream is pure mouthfuls of heaven! Sitting down to a tasty savory quiche with good coffee for brunch, I was overcome with food envy watching the neighboring tables. Every meal looked divine and the cakes were walking out the door. It's all fresh, using beautiful seasonal produce and quality ingredients and it shows in the taste and the amount of return customers lining up and comparing favorites!! I walked away with an entire apple cake, unable to make do with just one slice!! They've only been open for a few months and it's already a battle for a table - No matter where you live in Brisbane it's worth visiting Graceville just to visit Three Girls Skipping!
Deano's Digest
I was very eager to try this place out. Very friendly service, simple but nevertheless tasty savoury options, and a cake cabinet to die for. I did hope to try the Macaron's and a sweet tart but I think they had sold out before my arrival, such is the rising popularity of this cafe. It was hardly a let down, as the flourless chocolate cake is quite possibly the best I've ever had.
Kim Spikybombshell
This wee Brisbane gem has such a great selection of home-made cake that Judy and I even forced our friend Romain to order a piece of cake so we could try three of their many, many cakes. We had orange cake, chocolate cake, apple cake served with thick old clotted fashioned cream and delicious coffee. I would especially recommend the orange cake, it is absolutely devine.

Every time when I drove past Three Girls Skipping at Graceville, no matter what time of the day, it was always fully packed with people enjoying a cup of coffee.
