Review Allium Restaurant And Bar - Brisbane

Had a lovely dinner here recently. We did the tasting menu and it was great - beautifully presented and elegant food. I enjoyed the originality of cheese dish. Had a great cocktail here too. The restaurant has a nice modern decor and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Very exquisite dishes! We chose the 6 course tasting menu and enjoyed most of the dishes. The best dishes were the kingfish, scallops and beef. It was $85 per person. I'd say it's worth it for the quality of service and the food. Even though the size of the dishes seemed small,we were quite full after the 6 courses. The only drawback is probably the beetroot dish with goat cheese (or mousse)that didn't suit our taste. Other than that, would totally recommend trying it out. The interior is quite minimalistic and clean.

Had Christmas dinner as a group. We were well looked after. One of few places I have been to which allows individuals within the group to choose the tasting menu without forcing the entire group to opt in. Something very difficult with peaky eaters . Food was paced, didn't feel rushed and wasn't left hungry waiting for the next meal. Staff were knowledgeable. Plenty of parking on the side streets and close to public transport.

Food is refreshingly good, they take care in their presentation of food as well as taste. Love the kingfish and scallops, a must try if you are here. Service is great, staff are well trained. The only small criticism is a little too dark inside the restaurant, felt like wanting to nod off to sleep, might suit some, but for me was a little to dark for my liking. Apart from that a great degustation menu to set your taste buds into gear. Love also the fact it's not in the heart of the cbd where parking can be a problem for most diners, the location is quiet and parking was easy to find.

Dined here recently and had their 7 course degustation wine paired menu, incredible value and great service. Star dish was their Hiramasa Kingfish. Such a cute little space for dinner. Highly recommended.

Spent my birthday dinner at Allium and decided to try out their 7-course dégustation menu. BEST. DECISION. EVER. The build up from dish to dish was amazing but the highlights of the night were the Confit Cherry Tomato, Seared Scallops and the pièce de résistance - the Black Onyx Rump Cap. We paid compliments to the chefs and would definitely love to come back for more!

Three of us dined here and had the "shortlist" tasting menu with paired wine. The food was phenomenal and the wines delicious. It was all explained by the very knowledgeable waitress. I would love to dine here again.

We enjoyed an excellent meal and the service was top class but not snooty. We really could not fault the four courses with matched wines. Thank you, we will be back (and we are sorry it took us so long to experience)

Allium has certainly nailed their brief of relaxed fine dining. The space has a classy and clean design.
The food is beautifully presented and executed to perfection. The entrees and desserts were adequately portioned but the mains were slightly on the small side and left me wanting a bit more (which wasn’t necessarily a bad thing because our mains tasted so good!).
This place is ideal for an intimate dinner date.

Had a long awaited dinner at Allium last week for a friend's birthday. Had long heard of the great reviews about this place so I was super excited to check it out. . Made a booking for a mid week dinner. The place was dim, moody and quite cosy. Perfect for long catch ups over good food. There were two menus, one was a winter banquet, another was the full menu with a degustation option. Pressed between the choice of two set courses, we decided on trying the winter banquet menu at $64pp.

Amazing food, wonderful service, highly, HIGHLY recommended!

My husband and I dined here for my birthday and the whole experience was wonderful. They provided me with a special menu as they knew it was my birthday and dessert even came out with a candle - the little touches really meant a lot and made the experience even better.

We decided on the seven course degustation menu with matching wines. My only complaint would be that bread was served as one of the courses and I wouldn't really count it as a separate dish. But having said that, the bread was still delicious. Some of the dishes we had were cured kingfish with buttermilk, dill and cucumber - so delicate and the fish was melt in your mouth. The flavours were gorgeous. A chicken dish - something I NEVER order off a menu but it was wonderful, perfectly cooked and the accompaniments were delicious. Each course was beautifully presented, well explained by the wait staff, as were the matching wines.

We had a wonderful experience and cannot recommend Allium highly enough. For fine dining, it is one of Brisbane's best.

Return for second visit just in one month. We have a mini-birthday party in a group of seven. Six of us took the advantage of mid-week offer of a short sample of tasting menu for $55 and added additional cheese plate for $9.00 Honestly, it was quite a busy night that was nearly full house. Our first dish of Oxheart Tomato came to the table very quick, which kick-started our appetite. Next dish of well presented Hiramasa Kingfish earned the whole group's appreciation in terms of its refreshing taste and well balanced ingredients. The main of Lamb Belly really took quite a long time to get them presented on the table, which led to the deterioration of our mood so the effect just average (what a shame). Then we were advised to have the cheese plate first to go for the wine, which is a good idea and indeed we loved the balanced flavour the brick with the ginger ice-cream despite the fact that it took quite a long time to have the cheese plate again. The final dessert again was ruined because the whole group was tired of waiting for the dishes and our mood does not support the appreciation. Personally, I think chef can think about to have something else added on this dessert instead of varieties form of chocolate. Overall, this time is a little bit disappointed because it took us 3 hours to have only five dishes for the night; however the CP ratio is good and taste of dishes keeps consistent.

One month ago Rating 5/5
Located at the previous spot of the Foraging Quail , this local gem really deserves the glory as being one of the 50 hot spots in Brisbane. Had dinner here after returned from Hong Kong. Walked in and was greeted by the friendly owner wait-staff. Due to the fact that I was suffered from minor stomachache so we chose to have a la cart instead of the intended six courses tasting menu. Ordered just two entrees and two mains and one side dish. First came to the table were the Hiramasa Kingfish with cucumber & green apple and the Seared Scallop with caramelised cauliflower. Kingfish dish is very refreshing, particularly with the green apple sorbet that stimulates my palate and kick-starts my appetite. Scallop dish delivers a very rich flavour and reflects high quality structure. When it is mixed with the caramelised cauliflower, texture and taste are well balanced. The two mains do not let us down. Hapuka fillet is perfectly prepared as well as the accompanied squids and the salsa - they are perfect combination. Flinders Island Lamb racks reserve its rich original flavour and the chef’s culinary skill really brings the dish to a professional level. Oh! I nearly forget about the side dish of cabbage, which is so sweet and brings us a marvellous taste when it is mixed with XO sauce. Overall, We can see the passion from the team and thanks for such unforgettable dining experience. It is another restaurant that makes me proud of living in Brisbane.

We went to Allium for my partner’s birthday dinner. It was amazing! We went for the 6 course degustation with matching wines and we were so glad we did. Every dish was gorgeous and the wine pairings complemented each one very nicely. Prompt, attentive service and a beautiful space overlooking an open kitchen where we watched the chefs prepare dinner made it a great dining experience!

Amazing 6 course degustation with matched wines! The photos do the talking! Art on a plate and a beautiful symphony of flavours, each one of them.
You walk into Allium and the room is Black. Like really black. The odd softening of white through napkins and the bar but it’s a great contrast to the food you are about to receive.
Allium is truly up there as one of Brisbane’s great dining experiences.

Beautiful food and excellent service, have dined for both Dinner + Sunday lunch without disappointment. Food was absolutely delicious (That Lamb!), beautifully plated and adjustments to cater for my Gluten Free diet were more than accommodated. Prompt, professional and friendly service topping off a truly great experience.

Allium has a brilliant chilled vibe. The food is Amazingly delicious with outstanding flavours in each dish, the presentation is outstanding like a work of art. I have eaten at allium numerous times, taking friends and family there at any opportunity and will continue to do so as my taste buds are never disappointed.

Beautiful restaurant & amazing food! Every mouthful was divine, but our absolute favourites were the entree scallops & chocolate dessert (chocolate lovers heaven ). Loved the open plan being able to see right into the kitchen!

Best fine dining in Brisbane in a very warm and relaxed atmosphere, had the most perfect lamb main with matching red 👌 Absolute perfection! Will be back again and again!

What an absolute gem! Had seen a few articles on Allium, wanted to see if they lived up to the hype. Went on Sunday night and treated ourselves to the 9 course, perfectly timed and sized, we both left more than satisfied. A la carte is reasonably priced, we'll be back!

Went back last night to try the June promo, 4 courses and a bottle of wine for 2. Once again, delicious pairings and a great atmosphere.

A beautiful dinner. I kinda regret not having the tasting menu as it would have been good to try a few more dishes. The venison with watermelon was an interesting mix that I'm glad I tried but wouldn't reorder. The steak main was amazing. You could go for this alone and leave happy. The dessert was interesting but disappointing. Definitely a place to try.

Yuuuuuum! Came to Allium for lunch today. I had the Kingfish for entee and Duck for main. So delicious! White chocolate Parfait for dessert. Omg. I can't wait to go back so I can try more dishes! Such a neat little restaurant. Really great service in a relaxing environment 😄😄 🖒🖒

We had lunch at allium today and had an amazing time!
Food was delicious... the scallops were devine and the lamb was brilliant. Did I mention the peanut butter ice cream that came with dessert? 😍😍😍
Highly recommend this for a special night out... or a lunch date with friends... great food and service lends itself to all occasions.

We dined at Allium Christmas. It has a wonderful, relaxed atmosphere with a beautiful fine dining menu. We tried a variety of the dishes - scallops, pork belly, king fish, wagu, tortellini. ...oh and dessert....! Every dish was cooked to perfect with beautiful plating. The attention to detail is suberb.
Easy location to get to with plenty on surrounding parks. We will definitely return. Will be looking forward to trying brunch!

I was lucky enough to celebrate a recent birthday at Allium with 11 of my closest friends. While some restaurants might struggle to deal with a large group trying various tasting menus + a la carte + dietary requirements, we were treated to some of the best service I've ever had. The food was impeccable - each course was perfectly balanced and full of amazing flavours. It was great to be able to watch the chef at work as well. I'll definitely be back.

Dined here for dinner before Christmas and wow - what a treat! The food was amazing, service was just right and the wine list was great. I love the feel of the place - fine dining without the wankiness. Favourite dish was the king fish - I'm still salivating just thinking about it. My wife went back to try the brunch and from all accounts it's also top notch. I can feel a regular coming on...

Allium really has something for everyone so much so that I need to go back to sample more of the menu! The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and the wine list is top notch too. The brunch menu looks divine so we'll be trying it out in the new year

Excellent food and great service with knowledgeable staff. We had the tasting menu but opted to order cocktails instead of the wine pairing and they're we're all very good. Great value, would come again soon!

The restaurant has a very relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere with my favourite- an open kitchen. The food was amazing, cooked to perfection, and all the flavours paired insanely well!! The service was very professional, and as a new restaurant it definitely deserves more commending. Hands down the best restaurant I have been to all year and will definitely be my new go to!!

For entree, I ordered the scallops with three way cauliflower, and crispy beef cheeks. The scallops were cooked to perfection and paired so beautifully with the textures of cauliflower, definitely recommend (my favourite dish for the night)! For main I had the butternut squash tortellini, and slow cooked beef. It was very refreshing to taste pasta made in house! The squash filling was creamy and delicious, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The beef for main is a definite recommendation, it fell apart so flawlessly- definitely try this. The head of house did say the fish was the most popular on the menu so I'll definitely have to head back to try that.. dessert was a chocolate cremeux, and a strawberry tart (so delicious!!!). Definitely recommend this restaurant as perfect for date nights, celebrations, anniversaries or just to treat yourself.
Dolce Bunnie
Menu is quite simple here but every dish sounded delicious to me. We started with some bold and intense coffee. While we waited for the food to arrive, we ordered a croissant with hazelnut praline ($6) for Minibun George. I know what you’re thinking, ‘what’s there to write about a croissant?’. I know, I know. But you’ve gotta try the hazelnut praline. Eating it with the croissant was like pure happiness in my mouth (oh wait, did I just eat half of George’s food?). The other travel bunnie ordered bacon and eggs ($16) with a side of halloumi ($3). And it was just that. Presented on a white plate, were two perfectly poached eggs, smoked bacon, tomato kasundi and potato rosti. Although I was expecting some fancy schmancy plating, the other travel bunnie thought that it was exactly what he was after and the tomato kasundi just made everything taste that much better. My dish of citrus cured ocean trout, dill, caper, crème fresh on rye ($16) tasted as good as it looked; wonderfully vibrant in colours and rich in flavours.

Ate dinner here on one of their first nights. Food was superb - refined and delicious without being too 'out there'. Between our table we sampled most things on the menu - scallops and kingfish for entree were devine, and my favourite mains were the lamb and the tortellini. Finished the night with the chocolate cremeaux and strawberry tart - yummo! Great wine list, flawless service and a lovely atmosphere - the fit out is simple and elegant, but the place just felt comfortable and definitely didn't have the pretentiousness that often comes with food this good. Loved being able to see right into the open kitchen. I'll definitely be back to try their wine matched dego!
