Had a lunch here last Sunday in a group of three. We ordered a Charcuterie board to share and the mains of wood fired Carpricciosa pizza, Mariana Tagliatelle and a dish of Ravioli with Barramundi.
It was a perfect lunch. Varieties of cured meat, cheese and olives on the broad gave us lots of surprise. Tagliatelle was al dente with heaps of seafood. It was the first time that we tried the ravioli with Barramundi as ingredient, which are all full of rich fish flavour. Wood fried pizza is always the best way preparation. Together with the tomatoes, mushroom, olives, ham, artichoke and mozzarella that shape a perfect pizza for the day.😋😋😋

I Locale is the best Italian in Brisbane. Their pizzas are authentic and delicious, and the desserts are decadent and beautifully presented. I will be returning. A lot.
Came in for dinner the other night and thoroughly enjoyed everything I tried.
My prawn entree and mains were flavoured similarly- garlicky, buttery, chilli goodness. Homemade pasta was well made and cooked al dente. It was a delicious dish.
Partner engaged his carpaccio- I could smell the truffle oil- the flatbread was quite nice- really crispy. His stuffed gnocchi was a treat- I am getting that next time.
Today I was invited by Pamela to have lunch at this restaurant which had grabbed my attention on my last visit to Rosalie but had slipped from my mind.
Arriving not much after opening I'm surprised to see no guests at such a beautiful location with their nice wooden floors and furniture.
The staff promptly greeted me and informed to choose a seat of my liking.
After pondering at the menu for a while the lack of visible vegan options scared me but shortly after I was able to find options which are always welcome such as the polenta fritters and the margherita which are classics that I grew up appreciating.
After a couple of minutes waiting I get my polenta fritters, they look golden and crunchy and are served with a side of tomato sauce instead of the aioli at my request. The polenta is as crunchy as I expected but inside it's still moist and creamy, it's well seasoned but a bit oily. Would rate it a 4 out of 5.
After about 25 minutes of my entree being served, I see my pizza making its way to my table, it looks amazing, simple and appetizing as a margherita should be. On my first bite I'm sold, the crust is the way I like it, thin and crispy but not hard, the sauce on top has a good balance and I only wish there were a little bit more basil to it. Would also rate it a 4 out of 5 since I feel it's a bit too expensive for 22 dollars but it might feel like that because there was no cheese since I'm vegan.
Overall I had a pleasant lunch and enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly manager who made sure everything was according to my needs :).
It's quite easy to find an Italian restaurant that doesn't veer too much from it's traditional roots. But what about one that serves up goji berries with its carpaccio? Or edamame beans with it's pesce?. Are these dishes crazy or ingenious?. To find out, we paid a visit to Il Locale Italian at Rosalie; a restaurant that isn't afraid to take inspiration from all corners of the world.
I came here with a couple of girlfriends, after a recommendation from my partner!
For starters I had the crumbled and fried Olives stuffed with pork mince, and the Funghi Pizza as my main.
Both the starter and the main were delicious and i looked really good to my friends who loved my choice of venue! They loved their food too, and want to come back again next month to try another pizza!
Nic the front of house manager was great, and was always on standby for anything we needed.
Looking forward to returning
Ate outside on one of their enormous bar tables on steroids (we were walk ins from the movies at the Blue Room; very close). Not much aspect out there (looking at a BWS). Would be much nicer inside but pleasant nonetheless. The ceiling heater kept us warm. 3 of us had the Risotto; found favour with all. I was a little more adventurous with the wild boar Cinghiale. Wow, very tasty and not as gamey as it sounds but provided that something a bit different to the usual pasta dishes; congratulations chef! Wait staff were attentive and friendly. Will be back.
So after spending the last month eating my way through Asia, getting back to a cooler Brissy what a great way to warm up on a Saturday night than to tuck into some Italian and a few reds !. We landed at II Locale and was warmly welcomed to our table, the place was filled with families and couples and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. After choosing a nice Chianti from the extensive wine list, we settled on the Raviocone braised oxtail ravioli with a chilli jus, and the Gnocchi ripieni with truffle ricotta as our main dishes.
The meals came quickly and was a accompanied by a very small piece of bread roll for each of us. Both the dishes were delicious and perfectly cooked, we both loved our choices. But !, we both were really disappointed with the dish size, we both choose the main size and for my ravioli to be $36 for about 4/5 pieces, I was disappointed. The same goes for the gnocchi at $32.
I don't want this to sway people from visiting, as the pizzas being served looked delicious and other dishes the same, but on comparing to other Italian restaurants we have dined at, we got much better bang for our buck, so to speak !.
Service was very good, decor was nice but tables really close together and got really noisy when full. Calamari was delicious and very fresh and tender, prawn pizza was a bit skimpy on the prawn but really yummy. Lemon curd trifle was amazing! Overall really good food but a bit noisy.
Attended a pasta making course with Il Locale - excellent day, beautiful lunch & terrific advice/guide. Accommodated me as a late arrival, much appreciated. Great options for vegetarians. Highly recommended.
Fabulous place. The staff were very friendly. It was a really enjoyable time, and the food was superb!
I love Italian food and this restaurant serves delicious Italian food!!!
Pasta is homemade and sauces are delicious, we had a real Carbonara and was flavorsome!! All dishes were tasty from starters to desserts.
The service was great too, friendly and attentive, nothing to complain about it.
We concluded our dinner with some limoncello and porto.
Thank you Locale for this amazing dinner.
I definitely recommend this place.
Unreal Italian dishes. The restaurant owner and staff makes the dining experience very personal and goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. For sure have found our favourite Brisbane Italian restaurant.
Absolutely delicious food, ordered the arancini, capricosa pizza and the gnocchi. The waitress gave fantastic wine recommendations and offered tasters to ensure we got the wine we wanted.
