Review A Night In India - Brisbane

BNE Foodie
One upon a time this was the BEST Indian restaurant in Brisbane but sadly not anymore. Not sure if ownership has changed as i did read a number of the recent reviews of the place before giving it another chance but sadly, the recent complaints appear to have merit. Serves are small and sooooo watered down you can’t even taste it. Like literally adding my own salt at home just to eat it! So devastating as I said this was my favourite place a few years back! Hopefully they can improve…

It pains me to write this review because this place was my favourite Indian food venue in Brisbane. I’m not sure if it’s a different chef (slightly different menu) but both food and service declined. One of the dishes I have ordered almost every time changed ingredients without the the menu reflecting the change. A rather bitter farewell.

My partner and i have wanted to eat here since we moved to Brisbane 4-years ago. Thought we’d go for my birthday, wish we hadn’t…… starters were great but the chicken in both curries we ordered was dry and tasteless. I don’t claim to be a chef but the chicken tasted as though it was pre-cooked and added to the sauce, not moist and infused with spices etc as you would expect from a freshly made curry. Admittedly is was a quiet weeknight when we visited, not that that should make a difference. Very disappointed…….

The woman who calls herself an owner doesn't appear or act like one. She doesn't even know the difference between raw and cooked meals. The chapati we ordered wasn't properly cooked, and she refused to accept it and anyone could tell it was raw just by looking at it. We requested another chapati and informed her that we would pay for it as well she told us not to come next time or we can leave at the moment. It was my life's worst experience. Aside from that, the food is unimpressive, and the service is appalling. Don't spend your time when there are plenty of other options around. Hostesses who are rude and obnoxious servers. I'm afraid I won't be able to return.

Best Indian food in Brisbane! Really lovely staff, amazing food, only have to wait 15 mins most of the time and the restaurant is so pretty and moody. Love this place.

Are you aware of the fact that you are running a restaurant in Brisbane not in India? Telling a customer how much they should order and then misbehaving with them? If you have a table cost, mention it!!!! I have never been to your restaurant so don’t even post the same comment you have been posting on other reviews

Good food, not great. No real depth of flavour. Reasonable service. Fairly average overall. Did have an extremely sharp chicken bone in our curry which could have ended quite badly had we not found it. Staff were quite good about it though, taking a few dollars off the total bill for bringing it to their attention.

D-Licious. Ordered medium butter chicken. Nice and sweet with a little kick. So delicious with the fluffy garlic naan. Lamb vindaloo 5 chilli spice nice and hot so flavourful. We will be back with friends and will only order from here from now on. So good. Thank you.

Always fresh, tasty, quick to pick up take away :) a star in the firmament of Indian Restaurants - just the right hint of spice and heat - fabulous accompaniments and perfect rice <br/>

Service was pretty bad, food was alright

We were there recently, June 2020. Very disappointed with the quality of the dishes. I don't understand why this cuisine is Australia is so different from it origins and from the version that is served in UK Indian restaurants. In Australia, the food is sweet, creamy and gluggy when it should be spicy (not meaning too many chillies), but tasting of all the cardamon, cumin, coriander, etc spices. Definitely not sweet and definitely not creamy. This is how it should taste -fragrant, light sauce, tasty, with some actual meat or fish in it. The fish sagwaala was the most amazing green colour we had ever seen. Tiny amounts of fish.<br/>Very disappointing meal. I would not recommend it if you know what real Indian cuisine tastes like.
Caroline
The mild and sweet curries were a lot spicier/hotter than expected, however very nice. The complementary rice was no where near enough and the naan bread portion was also small.

Been going here for years and don't see that changing anytime soon. The food is always flawless and the atmosphere is great. Not a single disappointing visit in 10+ years. Highly recommend.

Great service and atmosphere. One of the better Indian restaurants in Brisbane in my opinion. We tried the stock standard butter chicken and korma dishes but willing to keep going back to explore other dishes they have.
Foodieforlife
We ordered chicken Lahori chicken Briyani goat Briyani Channa masala and panner masala. The prices were fine and portions were not too big not too small but fine . The goat and chicken Briyani was really good . The channa masala was not that great but the chicken lahori was good . I like the fact that we were able to split the bill among our friends using credit cards. The staffs were really attentive and good

Such an amazing yummmm food.... so many options to chose from. Staff is so friendly and helpful. Service is fast and great. They were so busy but no effect on service and quality of food . I loved this place. Its just outstanding and perfect.....👍 will come back again soon... 😃😃

I am vegetarian and love Indian food, the vege korma medium spice here is divine. Must try. Cheese and garlic naan was really nice too. Not too cheesy, each bite was fragrant and the naan was a good size -meal made to perfection!

I’ve tried Indian food in the States in the past but was never impressed. I obviously didn’t have a good dish. I L*O*V*E*D the dish I ordered here. It was vegetable and peanut with a side of plain bread. Rice was served to place the vegetables and peanut sauce over the rice. It was so good!!

The first time we saw this restaurant it was buzzing, the night we managed to visit it was the same. The staff are very attentive & accommodating & the food is delicious. Have to say maybe one of best aloo gobi dishes I have had. Perfectly spiced with the addition of fresh green chillies ( requested) Basmati rice fluffy & separate, naan bread flaky & light
J
One of the best Indian venues in BNE in my opinion. Food was great, lovely staff and honest prices. Even ordering takeaway the quality is consistent.

I have had Indian cuisine at a lot of places in Sydney and Brisbane but this was by far the best one.<br/>The little things that they do is what makes this a great experience. On arriving at the restaurant, we were served with complimentary pappadums. The staff knew the menu well and provided their recommendations.<br/>We ordered the chicken lasoon with flat breads. The curry is served with Saffron rice which was a complete meal for two as the portion of the curry is satisfactory for two.<br/>They provide different level of spice for the curries and we had asked them to make it hot. The curry was as per our request and we loved the meal.<br/>I would highly recommend this place for anyone who likes Indian cuisine.

Always fantastic. I'm so lucky to call this place my local Indian. Everything I've ever eaten here has been exceptional and the staff are all so lovely! They have a great range of options to suit every dietary requirement and food always comes out fresh and fast. My partner grew up eating authentic Indian food and is very picky about Indian restaurants and he raves about the food here. Some might think that the décor is a little dated, but I think it makes for a kind of moody, romantic ambiance
TheJellyWhale
Fantastic food and very fast service. The interior of the restaurant is quite dated but the quality of the food definitely makes up for it!<br/><br/>We ordered the dhal masala (lentil curry) and alu gobhi (cauliflower and potato curry). The curries came with a complimentary side of rice but we also ordered two plain naans.<br/><br/>The dhal masala was particularly delicious and pairs perfectly with naan. Definitely a satisfying meal!

A consistently great experience at A Night in India. Staff are incredibly attentive and helpful and the food is excellent. The Chicken Tikka is aromatic and a perfect option for those that don't love super spicy food. The menu offers so many choices for every taste bud! We order both take away and dine in regularly and have only ever had great experiences.
Rob
I have a couple of friends without tastebuds that like this place, so I have stubbornly turned up multiple times and every time this place disappoints. There are much nicer Indian options out there. It's not as bad a miss India type slop though.

Never have I had a bad plate or experience from this restaurant. I have found myself becoming a regular and would recommend A night in india to anyone.

My favourite India Restaurant. Friendly service and delicious food. very romantic ambience. Keep visiting this place from last 17 years never disappointed.

The Best Indian Restaurant in Brisbane. Excellent food exceptional service. Perfect Ambience for romantic dinner. I love Phaal Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala and Methi Curry. Spinch and Cheese Naan and Garlic and Cheese Naan are the best. Mix Entree my favourite to start and perfect end with chocolate cake or sticky date pudding.
Ayu Nirmala
I ordered take away " butter chicken ", rich taste compared to other Indian restaurant. The garlic naan is not hard like other naan and it's very tasty.
Kat
The best indian restaurant I have found in Brisbane. Food is always fresh and quality of ingredients is excellent. Staff are also very friendly and attentive. Overall a wonderful dining experience - you will not be disappointed.
Geoff
Beautiful waitstaff beautiful samosa and pakora and the Goan goat curry medium hot delicious and sweet and tasty. Marsala chicken excellent. Buzzing with happy diners. This is the real deal.
Kathryn Oudendyk-Jung
This is my husband and i's favourite Indian restaurant in Brisbane. We have tried so many places but none compare to the quality of food here! We come here as often as we can and every time we bring someone here with us, they always ask when we can go there again! <br/>Strongly Recommend

The best Indian i ever had. Great fast service with smile, delicious food and split billing no problem. Big menu staff keen to help selecting dishes.

Beautiful food and naan breads are just awesome..i have tried almost every single dish every thing is so delicious. ..love u night in india ..love the service❤

A group of 3 of us dined here on a Friday night. The service was attentive and the BYO costs $2.50pp. We ordered a mild butter chicken (of course), garlic naan, medium lamb meatballs and paneer chenai. All three curries were delicious and rice is included. If you want spice though, our mediums didn't have much to it so I'd recommend starting from hot.
SweetRamekin
Unfortunately for A Night in India, it has a moderately unappealing location between a main road, a dingy Chinese restaurant and a post office. On the plus side however, it has an impressive menu selection of meat, vegetarian and seafood curries and a range of sides and drinks to match. The service was polite and our food came out quickly; I ordered a lamb pumpkin halva with a cheese and garlic naan and was pleasantly surprised with the result. The curry was smooth and had a full flavour while the naan had a perfect amount of spice, definitely one of the better curries I’ve had. However, at $20 to $25, the prices are a bit steeper than expected for an Indian takeaway so one must face the inevitable question of quality versus quantity, with A Night in India favouring the former.

Shit man I love this place. As a regular they make me feel welcomed and not too ashamed for ordering here multiple times a week sometimes. The food is delicious and consistent and the restaurant is always busy. The staff are incredibly polite and make my manners look lacklustre in comparison.
Netkith
If I could I would rate this place zero. The food here is horrible, the worst I've had in Brisbane. We ordered Paneer curry which was stale and tasteless. Tandoori wasn't available so we got some sub-standard breads. We hated the curry and ordered another butter based Paneer to which the owner/manager promptly comes out and assures that they have the exact same curry base for all their curries and they just make different additions. And that was true to every word. It was the exact same curry with a spoon of butter on top. So we give up after half bread and half of the first curry for which we should have been charged $10. We paid $61 instead. And when we gave our feedback, the owner/manager made no efforts to apologise but instead asked if I was chef and stated that his restaurant is the busiest in Brisbane. <br/>Horrible! Awful! I had mint and lemon juice to change the crap flavours in my mouth. If you want to kill yourself - eat here.

Long term regular, usually get the takeaway but have dined in a few times as well. Best curry I've had in Brisbane, the spinach and cheese naan breads are to die for, especially combined with a spicy lamb vindaloo if you can handle the heat! Great variety of dishes from mild to super spicy, including tasty vegetarian options.
Dom Griffin
Best Indian we've ever had. We go here once a month and have never had a bad meal or service. <br/>I have tried majority of the menu and have never disliked anything I've ordered. <br/>Samosa and garlic naan for starters is always great. <br/>My girlfriend always gets butter chicken and will shed a tear when we move from Brisbane. <br/>Great place for two people or with a group of friends.
Caroline Blackett
Had a lovely meal here a few weeks back and will be returning. A good menu, including a fine array of choice for vegetarians. It was busy on the night and seemed popular - very difficult for some reason to find quality Indian food in Brisbane so this is a good find.
Wh
I don't go here very often despite being a local. I've found the food always decent and the service good but often the main meals have tasted unusually sweet to me. I always order mild dishes so it might be different with spicier dishes.
Emilyjspot
I love this restaurant!!! Delicious food, extensive menu and VERY attentive staff. I have never left this establishment unhappy. Don't let the daggy décor fool you - this is one of Brissie's best restaurants!

Very Impressed Fabulous, .... Very Impressed<br/><br/>Fabulous, friendly and genuine service. Very efficient. Meals always high quality and thoroughly delicious. Dined here two weeks in a row because we were so content and impressed.<br/><br/>Best Indian food!
I Want Yummy Food
The atmosphere is nice and the service is usually friendly but the food is hit and miss. The food can be really oily sometimes and they are not very consistent on how hot/spicy their curries are with I guess the exception being mild as those who I dine with who order mild curries don't usually complain that it is to hot. They are not usually very accommodating either. I recommend A Night in India at Carindale. Although it is owned by the same family. Those who run the one at Carindale are a lot more accommodating to make you dinning experience lovely and they are also a lot more friendly.
Jaskaran Kaur
The best Indian restaurant. Divine food and amazing service. Staff is so helpful and polite. Dying to go back. Open one in Melbourne too please.
Simon Pilot
I was disappointed that the chicken tikka masala and naan bread aren't done in a tandoor oven. This meant the naan was doughey and the tikka was a little flavourless. The masala sauce was too sweet. <br/>Aside from my harsh criticism, the ingredients were good quality so perhaps a different dish would be better - just don't get your hopes too high from the ratings.
SeanT
Great food and great service. This is a really good restaurant with beautifully prepared dishes and great service. If you have not tasted really good Indian we would recommend booking here. Every meal we have had has been superb.

Amazing service, kind staff and absolutely delicious food. I had the Mushroom Sabji last night at A Night in India, and my boyfriend had the Chicken Goan. This was one of the most delicious curries I have ever eaten! The flavours in the mushroom and potato were incredibly delicious. The service from the start of the night to the end was perfect. They checked if our water needed filling, they took away any dirty plates and they were just very lovely people. We ordered our mains, and within 10 minutes we had the meal on our table. We chose A night in india over ceylon inn as we had heard bad things about ceylon inns service, and we're glad we made that choice!<br/>Definitely give A Night in India a go, absolutely delicious vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals. Couldn't be happier!
Nicole.senn
DELICIOUS. This is definitely the best Indian in Brisbane! Not only is the food delicious but the service is some of the best customer service I have ever experienced! The veggie samosas, mango lassi and coconut rice are some of my favorites from their menu!

Amazing food, nice place, the waitress were really helpful and kind, this is one the or the best Indian restaurant in BNE, I would recommend it to anyone !

Best Indian in Brisbane - why bother going anywhere else?. This is now the only Indian restaurant I go to, I feel like I'm wasting my money if I go elsewhere! Prompt and courteous service, generous helpings, decent pricing, lovely ambiance. You just can't beat the food, I've never had a bad meal. Also, a really varied vegetarian menu, if you're that way inclined. <br/><br/>I had a function here earlier this year, and the staff were so organised and accommodating, and they gave me my meal for free because it was my birthday :) <br/><br/>Best dish: the vegetable korma (with a garlic naan!!)
Lucy Daly
Never Again. Don't waste your money.. A Night in India unfortunately did not meet my expectations, the curries were simply far too sweet and the flavours were unbalanced. The butter chicken tasted like canned tomato soup with an additional 5tbs of sugar. The Lamb korma was ok but again unbalanced and far too sweet. Upon going to pay i expressed my opinion of the dishes in relation to curries i have had elsewhere, I received a rude remark stating that the curries are stated as "sweet" and that I should have read the menu. The gentleman appeared to be the owner of the establishment and i was very upset with the manner in which he spoke to me and gave the impression that all he cared about was me paying for my meal. I will never go here again after such terrible customer service, this man truly ruined my night out.

Poor food, uninspiring staff members, lack of general atmosphere. Before our night we were expecting a fabulous meal at 'Queensland's Best Indian Restaurant,' however, we were sadly disappointed. We ordered Butter Chicken, a popular crowd pleaser, arguably the most popular dish ordered in an indian restaurant, although, it was anything but. It tasted worse than one from a jar and was soon cold within 5 minutes, I was extremely unimpressed. Furthermore, the waiter confused our order, forgot our strawberry lassi and repeatedly said please when delivering our dishes? There was no Indian music and a lack of general ambience. Furthermore, after the reading the menu we were aware of the $4 surcharge for 'sharing' dishes and spent our whole night in fear after exchanging rogan josh that we could be surcharged. Not being able to share dishes is quite a turn off and also encouraged a hostile eating environment. We sadly won't be returning due to the lack of good food and good service.
Meg
AMAZING! Was walking in toowong after a walk and had to choose from Ceylon curries or a night in Indian and chose a night in Indian because it was busy on a Monday night! Ended up going there two nights in a row. I had the vegetarian pumpkin curry, vegetable samosas, vegetable pakoras and plain nann. The rest of my family had other dishes and loved it.

Love it~. I'm consider myself as regular customer here. Nice Naan especially Naan filled with chicken with cheese (they use tandoori chicken) with extremely low price! If you're light eater ,I'm sure this Naan which also got more choices ,will suitable enough for you. Other than Naan, I like their Briyani chicken which is pretty nice yet my husband don't really like it.their curry and rice is good~
Kittypie2008
Sadly gone downhill. The first time we went here a few years ago it was amazing - the $35pp all you can eat deal was great and we used to go here often. However they have since changed the deal so that you can only order the same curry you ordered the first time. So if you are planning on eating as much as possible and trying all of the different curries, think again! The deal is only worth it if you go with a large group of people (8 or so) so you can order a variety of different curries to share. I would not recommend going here as a couple as you will not get your moneys worth. The food is good enough but nothing special.
Cassenya Preece
Great service although not very authentic. Butter chicken was way too sweet and tasted like tomato soup! Garlic naan was yum though.

Too good to ignore. Have generally used Urbanspoon to critique those who have not delivered what they promised. However, A Night In India deserves an extremely high recommendation for the quality of its food, its friendly staff, and efficiency of service. I have now been twice and both times has been extraordinarily good. It is far and away my best experience of Indian food in Brisbane in over 30 years. For people who enjoy Indian food, do yourself a favour and visit them.
Mandy83
Superb. Simply superb Indian. I've been going there since 2005 and not once have I walked away unsatisfied. Keep it up guys!

Best Indian I've Ever Had!. I went to this restaurant the other night and it was absolutely amazing! I've been to many indian restaurants, and the indian restaurant I usually go to is very good but they have awful quality meat. I love this restaurant because they have AMAZING quality meat, they actually cut the bones and fat off in the curries! it's all low fat too and healthy. I ordered a roti, it tasted amazing and wasn't lathered in oil/butter whatsoever! I also ordered the vegetable korma and tandoori chicken tikka, and they were to die for. This is definitely my new go-to indian restaurant!

Great Food Excellent Service. Have been going here for years and in my opinion offers the best Indian food in Brisbane. Not only this but the service is fantastic - the wait staff very friendly and attentive and the food very quick to come out.
Sarah_j
Made a late booking, 10pm, & the service was still polite & the food fantastic. We got a bit of a hurry on at 11pm, & that is understandable. I will definitely be returning here to try more of their curries!
Steve
Our local. We go here or takeaway from here all the time. great value, great food!

Awesome food and service....<br/>I came today for lunch with my friend <br/>I really appreciate for food and service<br/>And god bless simar and other front staff who did brilliant job.
Laura Humphries
My new favourite restaurant. I had such a wonderful time here. It doesn't look much from the outside but it's beautiful on the inside. The waitresses were so attentive, polite and friendly. The drinks were surprisingly cheap for a restaurant ($4 or $5 for the bottled beers and ciders) and the meals were good value too because all the curries came with free rice, and the curries actually had some substance to them - none of this four pieces of meat drowned in sauce that costs $25 like some Indian restaurants. You actually got a LOT of food for the price. We also got the garlic naan and roast vegetable naan with two dips - both were absolutely beautiful. Our curries were superb tasting and the spice was just right. We were completely stuffed by the end of it, couldn't even finish the naan or curries and we'd only ordered one each. Our bill was extremely reasonable and we left feeling very happy and well fed!
Melissa
Not Impressed. I came here in a big group of 20 for one of my friends farewell dinner. Some of the party opted for the banquet but as some of us were students we all didn't want to spend that much. I shared a Peanut Masala with a friend and we ordered naan and pappadums to share. There was only 6 pappadums which cost $8.50, the sauce that came with them was so artificial coloured I couldn't eat it. Peanut Masala was nice but a VERY small size, i was barely full and the rice that comes with it was barely enough. Two of my friends just ordered entrees as they has been out and had eaten beforehand. One of those friends brought a bottle of wine with her and she was told she couldn't drink it as she was only ordering an entree. She was also told (along with my other friend who ordered an entree) that they were not allowed to eat ANY of anyone else's food....especially from the banquet. They were treated like children...I can understand the alcohol thing in a way but they just wanted to share a few glasses of wine, when they asked to order a glass of the menu they couldn't do that either. Overall, my friends were treated like children and it was very embarrassing. I wonder if it was a group of people in their 30s or 40s and not in their 20s if we would have been treated the same.

Best Indian in Brisbane. Our favourite restaurant in Brisbane and also the best Indian we've ever had. Food, service and atmosphere all exceptional. We have tried lots of the items on the menu and have never been served anything we didn't like. We recommend sampling the entrees, trying some of the less well known curries and goat and of course no meal would be compete without a naan. You won't be disappointed.
ElleT
Amazing array of curries. We've been eating here for years, and have yet to try everything on the menu. If you are bored of butter chicken, vindaloos and tikkas, it is worth a visit as there is no shortage of interesting dishes. The quality is always good, the dishes are fresh, and there are lots of healthy choices. It's a relaxed place and usually quite busy, but the staff manage to be attentive and friendly.
Linda
All time favorite Indian restaurant! The curry and nan bread are very flavorsome and delicious!! Never had a bad experience here :)
Anonymoose
Good food and service. Good Indian food - fairly inoffensive, and possibly a little bland and Westernised at times, but consistently good quality. Have had very good service when I've visited - I'd go again without hesitation, but I'm not sure whether it'd be my first choice for Indian food in Brisbane.
Lina
Great Curries. I really love this place. The curries are fabulous and the service friendly and fast.
Yadzz
No way going back....... To start off the curries were too bland....went their last night ordered a garlic NAAN with vege curry....When I got served I was surprised to see the NAan which was made on hot plate.....<br/>For heavens sake Naan is made in a Tandoor and not on a hot plate.... like seriously WTF...!!<br/>When asked about why was it made on a hot plate the waiter reluctantly responds back saying the owner has been running the restaurant for 16 years and all our customers prefer the Naan on the hot plate..!! Doh...!! did this guys dd a survey....? How did they know....?/!<br/>This guys should be ashamed of themselves calling themselves A Night in India...!! <br/>They claim to be "traditional Indian cuisine" on their website http://www.anightinindia.com/<br/>Well I can guarantee no way near traditional Indian cuisine...<br/>2 stars...!! (Don't even know why ami I giving that extra star for??)

Fantastic. The best Indian food I have ever had. I tried the Goat and it tasted really good. The service was so friendly and the food was out before we knew it. Sadly I can't find any other Indian places closer to my suburb that tastes this good so I have to keep travelling to this place to have a fantastic experience.

Great Night Out. Fantastic customer service! Great for a night out, and also fantastic for take away with big servings. Local with good atmosphere.
Ghuman
Great place for dinner!!! Love the food
Babycino Porter
Yum. Dhal makhani here is amazing! they're open pretty late, prices are good and the serving sizes are great. takeaway comes with free rice and there's always enough for a meal and a half in those plastic tubs. it's super!
Badi
There are so many good indian joints in brisbane but this place is my favorite. I've yet to find a bad thing on the menu. Also rice is free and the naan is great
Borat-tini Anyone
Had a quick lunch here. No complaints overall but nothing special. If you feel like Indian it'll do the trick. 3*stars

Yum!. I love love love night in india! AMAZING and healthy curries with very low fat options. great service, nice atmosphere. great for big groups too.

Surprisingly good. In a place where most restaurants/cuisine have been dumbed down by students, this one seems to have maintained its quality.

My new 'go to' for Indian food in Brisbane! Generous (and delicious) servings, friendly staff, good service... What's not to like!
Cruise
Food was really well done. Friendly staff. Reasonable waiting time. Great taste.
Laura Bradbury
This is the best Indian in Brisbane! The dinner special is good value and more than enough for one person. We always find the staff pleasant. Love it!
Sam
Great food, friendly staff, good prices... Gone back countless times and never a disappointment!
Ninja Panda
Best Indian I have found in Brisbane. Great food, extensive menu, casual service and generous serves. Love the Action Hot option - can actually get hot curry unlike other restaurants. Never disappoints.
Maya
We frequent A night in India often & absolutely adore the peanut masala!

Not the rice. I ordered Prawn Goa as the main meal this I felt was enjoyable.<br/>However the rice was old and dry.<br/>I presented this friendly suggestion to the Owner of the restaurant, however he was reluctant to take any ideas and suggestions on board.<br/>It was my first time at this restaurant and I hope it won't be my last.
Deano's Digest
Not my first choice for local Indian, however I had friends that were on a budget so we found ourselves here. Typical western Indian, which I admit is a guilty pleasure, but really nothing to write home about when there is Ashoka 5 minutes away.
The Food Oracle
Best Indian Iin Brisbane. Lovely restaurant, nice atmosphere, excellent choice of curries, all well priced, the service is casual but always friendly and with a smile. Easy to park and get to. I don't like their samosas, but I just don't order them! I have been a returning customer for many years and will continue to be. Never disappoints.
Hannah Whitfield
Never disappoints!. This is my fave local curry place- the service is always great and the curries always taste fantastic. Recommended dishes: goat lassan (garlic explosion), daal sabji, lamb jalfrezi. Yum! Plus, you can drop into the RE afterwards for some digestive beers.
AJ
We went a bit too early to comment on the atmosphere but I drive by everyday and have seen the place packed a lot of times. Fast and friendly service is a byo food was okay nothing wrong with it but I have to say that it was pretty average. Sorry guys may need to work on the sauces a bit lighter with more flavour and you should go traditional with your poppadom dips
Adam
Good food, average service. Food here is good, however, like all indian food in Australia, overpriced heavily... Service is average, setting and atmosphere is nice. Location is easy to get to.
Matty P
I love it. Finest indian in Brisbane. I keep trying new restaurants to top it, but I haven't found one yet. From the curries to the naan, absolutely top notch. They put something on the vegie samoas to make you crave them more than is usually reasonable. I eat there as often as my dining companions allow. <br/>Try the butter chicken (always have to try the butter chicken), chicken korma, masala curry and the madras.
CO
My old local. Since moving from Toowong to Oxley I have come to miss this place. Excellent service and food, and well priced.
Nx Doyle
Gone downhill.. I have eaten at ANIA Toowong many times, both in the restraurant and take-away. As far as Indian cuisine in the Inner West, they were easily the best and always something to look forward to. I'm not sure if they've changed chefs in the last few months, but lately the standard has declined in a big way.<br/><br/>My favourite dish has always been the Jalfrezi. Now I can't eat it due to an overpowering aniseed-like flavour. I've changed my standard to a Korma, but even this is very heavy is cardamom. I have been tempted to ask if they have had a staff change, and may yet call them up and ask, but whatever the reason, ANIA is, while stll edible, a long way from the top quality theyused to be. Given that they are relatively expensive and it can take a long time to receive an order, it might be time to try another establishment.
Woody
Being a local I have gone here a number of times, At times it's been great but most often below average, you get better flavor out of the re heatable packs from Coles just down the road prices, like everything prices have crept up and the value has gone from these meals, I hope to write a better review someday soon

Best indian in brisbane. I have eaten at a lot of indian restuarants all around brisbane and australia and I would say without a doubt that this is the best indian I have eaten. The flavours are always fantastic and the prices are great. The service here is very friendly and they make you feel at home. If your looking for really hot indian it probably isnt the best place, however their hot currys still have a good bit of spice. One of my favourite restaurants in brisbane.

1st time I have enjoyed Indian. I have never been a big fan of Indian. Don't get me wrong I went to Indian restaurants all over Brisbane when my fellow diners chose the restaurant, but I would never choose it myself.<br/>Two years ago I discovered A Night in India and it is now a regular. On many occasions we have invited others to join us and each time our guests have been very happy with the food there. <br/>Our regular dishes are Lamb Saag, Chicken Korma and Beef Punjabi, all consistently fantastic.

Love it here. The pumpkin and butter chicken curries are my fav, with garlic cheese naan. Friendly staff.

Worse than.... I've been to this place three times (invitations I couldn't turn down, don't think I'm a glutton for punishment!) and each time the curries were incredibly bland and the naan doughy and uninspiring. The curries had no heat and no depth of flavour, as well as a mystifying sweetness. When asked for 'hot' curries the staff must just dump a bunch of chilli in the mild curry, because the heat gets dialled up without any corresponding improvement in the depth of flavour in the dish. I guess the poppadums were nice, but you can buy poppadums in a packet at the supermarket and not go wrong with those. You can get an average-quality curry anywhere in Brisbane, and this place is far worse than any of those. I'm at a loss as to why my friends keep choosing to go there. And it's not like it's cheap enough to justify such poor quality food, either.

LOVE their curries! They do super mild for the chn no problem, and are always friendly.

LOVE this place!!! Really can't get enough of the amazing curries here! We've never had a problem with anything for the last couple of year's we've eaten here. Have moved to the northside now...and drive over specifically! YUM!

Not great curry!. Chicken dish ordered had very little meat and was bland. When we mentioned it to the manager he shrugged and ignored us. We will not be back there!

The food here is excellent; the staff invariably friendly and obliging. This restaurant is a real treasure.

A Night In India was still as delicious as the takeaway that I remember getting years ago, and is a great place for a big group dinner particularly as they split the bill for you and make it very easy to pay!

This is... quite astounding. You have probably noticed by now that we eat out quite a bit. It so happens that our food cravings tend towards Asian (Chinese, Vietnamese, Japanese and Korean being the regular) or 'ethnic' which is a term I use to broadly co

The decor of A Night in India is quite lovely; it’s decorated with Indian furtniture and art, but it is by no means tacky and has a warm ambiance. There’s lots of seating inside, and a few tables outside. We decided to sit outside, and while the view of High St isn’t exactly appealing, the seats were comfortable and it was actually quite pleasant.
