Ahmet's is a Brisbane institution which must be protected at all costs. You are not too cool for Ahmets. It's Turkish cuisine at its finest. Anyone that doesn't like this place is either a snob, a karen, someone who doesn't enjoy life. Essential eating in Brisbane.
We ordered Iskender kebab, beef skewers and spinach and cheese borek. We ordered the borek as starter and little did we know it would be too much. As a person who grew up in Middle East I expected the borek to be one layer because that’s the authentic version. But despite that, it tasted good. The Iskender kebab was a big portion and too oily. From previous experience I know that it shouldn’t be this oily. The beef skewer was hard and chewy and again tasted good . The ayran could denitely be more sour. The 4 stars is for the taste but there are few things that they could improve on to make it more authentic. Overall decent meal.
I was suggested to dine here this evening as my brother and I were seeing a play at QPAC.
The restaurant is large and functional, it's position is great as it sits adjacent to all the family areas of Southbank.
I ordered the zucchini Fritters which were nice, but were more bready than zucchini, but like I said they were tasty and crunchy where they needed to be and soft and fluffy in the middle.
I ordered the flame grilled vegetable skewers for my main meal and they were delicious.
My brother ordered their famous mixed grill, and he said it was absolutely delicious, especially liking the chicken which was juicy and tender.
Also we ordered garlic Turkish bread as a pre meal nibble.
I shall be back thanks very much. SARDS.
Ahmets Turkish restaurant is Beautiful atmosphere friends Servis was delicious food
🍚 Food was amazing! We had the kings feast - too much to eat but we wanted to eat it all!
🍷Lots of authentic drink options, try the house beer.
💵 Great value for money.
🙋🏻♀️Service was great but we did have one guy deliver just one course and it was like an inconvenience that we were there and contributing to the busy night. The gentleman that seated us and the lady that served us most of the night were lovely though.
🍃 VERY busy, very squashed in. Clean and dimly lit though. Something a little romantic about this busy place.
👨👩👦👦 Family friendly if you book ahead and request a particular area of the venue.
🚘 Lots of parking nearby, but be prepared to walk a few minutes to restaurant front door.
👍🏻 Overall, an amazing place for dinner for us. Very happy.
I have been there for a few times so far. Overall an awesome experience. King's feast is more than satisfactory. I would recommond lamb pide and beef skewers. The sweets there are the best I have ever found.
Had a wonderful time with family and the food was amazing. The intermittent belly dance performance add to the fun in the evening.
Only suggestion is to inform at the table what dish is served due to dietary restrictions people may have and it was not easy finding someone to advise on it.
Keep the good work going.
What a great restaurant. I loved how colorful this place was. The service was also nice even tho they were quite busy since it was Mother's Day. For drinks we got Belly Dancer Martini and Turkish Sunset. Both drinks were awesome. For lunch we tried the Lamb cutlets and their famous mixed grill. Again both dishes were delicious. As we were eating they had a belly dancer come out to some live music playing. Everyone loved especially my kids. Overall a great lunch.
The pleasant experience from this restaurant heavily relies on its physical ambience. The food was hearty, albeit a little too salty, but lacked something that I couldn't put my finger on. Good Turkish food is hard to master and I think even though this restaurant has been around for a while, it doesn't quite make it. I've had more authentic tasting Turkish food from small restaurants run in suburban areas.
This is some amazing Turkish food - we went to the $10 pide all day and all night special and they were soo good! The service is so lovely and attentive too - we also loved the eggplant from the entre - we will definitely come back.
First time visit. Lunchtime atmosphere was quiet. Had seen it packed out the night before and the atmosphere was certainly alive. Service was friendly and attentive. Cocktails were great, menu was vast, some dishes I had never heard of before and staff were happy to give details. Meals were delicious.
South Back is quite the place! So much to see and do! Grey street has lots of eateries to choose from. Ahmets was excellent! Patios on both sides, beautiful interior design and the staff was great! Oh and did I mention the food was superb as well? 😎👍
Ahmet’s is truly a flavour sensation! The Turkish bread in particular was fresh, fluffy and unlike anything else I’ve had in Brisbane. The babaghanoush was a delicious addition too! The only small issue we had was that the service was a bit slow - we ended up dining for almost 3 hours. Not to worry though, we were enjoying people watching and had nowhere to be. Regardless, the servers were lovely and the food was tasty!
I went to Ahmet’s for the first time and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. The pricing was reasonable and the service was great. I liked the variety in the menu as well. I went with a group of 4 so I loved that they had ‘share dishes’ so we could try everything.
The ambiance inside is amazing, feels like you are in Turkey. The food was so delicious and flavourfull. We had the Turkish bread and the mix skewers, the lamb was my favourite. Kunefe with ice cream and Turkish coffee was a nice way to end the meal. Service was great too.
We have been here so many times, and each time it's been an amazing experience, we love the dips and the bread, this Turkish restaurant has been so addictive that we end up going here like once a week. The managers are friendly they look after guest very well. I highly recommend this place they have both quantity and quality for the price....👍
Spacious and beautiful place. The servers are attentive and joyful. The shank, which is very tender, comes with potatoes. Lamb steak pide has a good crunch and not too cheesy. It was just nice. The kunefe can be a little more sweet though but I guess with the tasters, it's really sweeter than the kunefe. There's a bit of punch to the rose mocktail and the passionfruit mocktail is just right. We came at 5pm and it was not so busy then but when we left around 6.30pm, the restaurant was almost full.
Very delicious food! Very fresh. You can tell that the meat are not frozen. The minced lamb skewer was exceptional! That's my recommendation of this place!
