Party of three for Father’s Day dinner. Not too packed and service was good and attentive. Starters of chicken pakora were excellent. The tandoori mixed grill was a huge portion and the ladies curries were very tasty. The keema nan was a bit soft for our liking. great experience. Would recommend and we will be back.
Am updating my review for Punjabi Palace simply because we had a more positive experience. For entree we ordered the vegetarian samosas which were very good, nice crunchy pastry with tasty filling. My aloo gobi also good with plenty of cauliflower & well spiced. Only small whinge was the bread a bit doughy
We drove past this place and it looked inviting so we came back for dinner. Meal was, garlic naan, butter chicken and I had beef vindaloo. All was very nice and the service was attentive. Will come back.
The food was fantastic, couldn’t fault it, delivered fast and the flavours were excellent. The only thing that lets this Resturant down was the staff, from the slapped down menus to the girl standing over us 2 minutes later asking what we wanted it felt rushed to the point of rude. The staff are all that loses it a star.
The food is brilliant.
traditional food, good good good !fantastic food, good service!bread is so good, naan is so soft and delicious ,yogurt tasty good. Next time try it again .
We had buttered chicken and lamb korma - normally both very tasty. This time both had no taste and the lamb seemed to be burnt (like expose burn when slow cooking). It was similar to buying one of those Indian jar meal preps from the supermarket. Smelled and looked good, but was watery and had only a hint of flavour.
For the ones who like to have Indian food, Punjabi palace is there for you.
I have tried varieties out . Panner tikka, chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken , butter naans, tandoori rotis everything is just superb.
the dishes have a typical authentic taste which is loved by all the Indians.
Been coming here for years. Their lunches are great value and love the range of curries on offer. Dining in is a good option that we’ve done, but we often get takeaway. Love their home made paneer!
*3.5/5
I want to start out by saying that the curries were delicious. I especially liked the chicken tikka masala ($18.50). It was sweet and medium spice level was enough to make it slightly spicy while not making you reach for glasses of water. However, people with high spice tolerances may be disappointed. Note that the beef vindaloo ($18), while claiming to be 'HOT', is really not spicy at all. The portion sizes of the rice and curry were very small though. 5/5
Unfortunately, the same praise cannot be given to the naan ($4) and the lassi ($4.20). The naan was far too salty, while the lassi was very thick and overly sweet. 2/5
I strongly recommend to make a table booking even if you only have two people. The restaurant was full at around 6pm. This may have factored into the difficulty of trying to get the single waiter to come to our table so we could order more rice; however, as an ordinarily busy restaurant, they should have accounted for the number of people and accordingly increased the number of waiters. Not terrible but rather annoying.
Edit: Went back for lunch. The naan this time was surprisingly good. My conclusion on the curries is that they are good but too salty. They remained unrelentingly mild. Don't expect much from the salad - it was tiny (composed of finely diced tomatoes, cucumbers, and onion IIRC) and they had marinated everything in salt for some reason.
The service was awful. Again, hard to flag down a waiter, but not only that, they mixed up the order (I clearly said medium spice and got hot, not that it made much of a difference) and forgot two of our salads.
TL;DR: Good curry but too salty and not spicy, small portion sizes, variable naan, bad service
Punjabi Palace is consistently tasty and good value. We go there regularly for lunch with the special lunch menu being great value. The naan is also a winner
You can find one of the fluffiest naans and the creamiest masalas in Punjabi Palace. The only main gripe about this restaurant is that the spice level is not as high as it could be. For starters, I recommend the butter chicken masala.
Really delicious and flavorful food! The food was delivered quickly and cheaply. The butter paneer and onion bhaji were so delicious. Will be back again
Always have a great meal and excellent service. Is fast becoming a South Brisbane classic. enjoy my curries hot and I appreciate the spicy option. Thanks guys
When I think of indian food, I usually think of Punjabi Palace. Great portion sizes, and the flavours are so smooth. I usually like spicy food, but I quite enjoy the mild level at Punjabi so I can enjoy the flavours more. Great selection, it'll take me forever to get through them all!
Genuine Curry place very nice aromatic curry with naan or rice always enjoy the meal in here😁 staffs are nice and atmosphere is lit. can even smell spices from 100m away
Punjabi Palace no doubt has the best Indian I have even eaten. I could not recommend this place to my friends enough. I ordered the Veggie Tikka Masala and was amazed with how good it taste. The portion sizes were perfect and garlic and cheese naan bread was fluffy and flavoursome. Honestly worth the travel and is now my go to Indian restaurant. Bye bye Miss India, hello Punjabi Palace.
I went here with some friends. I was looking forward to eating gulab jamun for dessert.
The chicken biriyani was really delicious as was the chicken korma.
The atmosphere was wonderful and I could watch bollywood music videos playing on a TV in the background.
The gulab jamun was sweet but I had to share it so inevitably I wanted more. Overall, this restaurant deserves a good rating.
Good food, good atmosphere, decent prices, lots of selection on the menu. Tried all the different curries we ordered at our table and all tasted nice. Would definitely return.
I am invited to join Meatballs And Beef Cheeks for lunch at the Punjabi Palace. How could one refuse as I love the spicy fragrant foods from the sub-continent. So we meet up 12.30pm at the restaurant and I am introduced to a hospitable Manager Smit. After some pleasantries I am so prepared for this spicy meal.
With much to discuss since our last meal together, I ask the waitress for some more time to peruse the menu. Being a regular, Meatballs already knows what he wants for lunch and orders a Tandoori Chicken Tikka, a Paneer Palak and basmati rice. I decide on the Lamb Masala and a Plain Naan. Within 15 minutes I am impressed to see Manager Smit and our waitress delivering our lunch order.
Meatballs asks me to try the Tandoori Chicken Tikka. The chicken fillet is tender and not overly marinated but I would personally prefer half a Tandoori Chicken cut up. Rating: 4.0/5.0
I am unfamiliar with the Paneer Palak but it is tasty with cubes of cottage cheese. Rating: 4.0/5.0
The bowl of Lamb Masala has a generous serving of lamb and I really enjoy the flavour of the Masala gravy with the warm Naan and Basmati rice. 4.5/5.0
This is a beautifully decorated restaurant and the tables are well placed with sufficient privacy for the diner/s. When I asked for the bill, Manager Smit graciously refuses payment. I was momentarily taken aback then Meatballs and I thank him for his kindness and hospitality. I will return with friends. Thank you Punjabi Palace!

I had the pleasure of introducing Joe K to Punjabi Palace, my favourite Indian restaurant in Brisbane.
We took advantage of the $9.95 lunch specials, which include a curry, rice and salad. We ordered the Palak Paneer, Lamb Masala, Tandoori Chicken Tikka and a Plain Naan.
The food was beautifully presented and had fantastic flavour.
The Palak Paneer was wonderful. Rich and delicious, this rated a 4.5-5. The Lamb Masala was thick and full of large chunks of lamb - perfect for the carnivorous JoeK! The Lamb Masala rated 4-4.5. The Tandoori Chicken Tikka was tender and delicious - this too rated 4-4.5.
The front of house manager, Smit, was his usual engaging and charismatic self. He very generously provided me with a complimentary order of Palak Paneer to take home for Mini Meatball. He then went one step further and surprised Joe and I by treating us to lunch as well. This was an unexpected, but greatly appreciated gesture.
My sincere thanks to Smit and Punjabi Palace for the wonderful meal.
-- Meatballs And Beef Cheeks dined as a guest of Smit and Punjabi Palace and is grateful for their hospitality, but my opinions remain my own. A donation has been made in their honor to the Children's Hospital Foundation to help preserve my objectivity.

March 2017 - rated 4.0
Punjabi Palace remains my favourite Indian restaurant in Brisbane. Their curries are their standout dishes. My family used to dine here every couple weeks, but life has gotten in the way and now we are lucky if we dine-in every four to six months and order takeaway every couple months in between.
We scheduled delivery tonight to take advantage of their Wacky Wednesday deal - $10.95 for curry and rice (takeaway or delivery only). We ordered Palak Paneer, Dal Makhani, Butter Chicken, Tandoori Chicken Tikka and three Plain Naan.
The Palak Paneer was delicious, as usual, and rated a 4.5. The Dal Makhani was a bit watery and some of the beans were a bit too firm - this could have used a little longer at the simmer stage. The Dal rated a 3. The Butter Chicken was good, but not as flavourful as I've come to expect from the Palace. This rated 3.5-4. The Tandoori Chicken Tikka and Plain Naan were both very good and rate a 4.
The delivery ($5.50 delivery fee) was twenty minutes late, which is a bit annoying considering the order was scheduled in the morning and the delivery time was confirmed.
Over the past couple years my ranking has dropped from 5 to 4.5 to 4. This is likely due to the fact that my expectations as a customer continue to increase over time, but it also reflects the fact that we usually receive one dish that isn't up to their high standards every time we dine-in, order takeaway or get delivery.
Still the best Indian in Brisbane and a favourite of the Meatballs family.

August 2015 - rated 4.5
My Favorite Indian Restaurant in Brisbane. Over the past five years, Punjabi Palace has repeatedly proven that they serve the best, most consistent Indian food in Brisbane.
Every few weeks you can find my family sitting outside or in the corner dining on Palak Paneer, Dal Makhani, Tandoori Chicken Tikka and Naan. If I'm in the mood for comfort food (something a bit sweeter/creamier), the Chicken Tikka Masala or Butter Chicken both hit the spot.
The front of house manager, Smit, is very engaging and his presence adds to the enjoyment of the dining experience.
Went to Punjabi palace for a Saturday night dinner with my partner and overall, the ambience and service was really good. Was very busy but the staff were very polite in getting a table cleaned and set up well and quickly.
We ordered 1/2 Tandoori chicken for entree and Fish masala curry with 2 garlic naan for our mains. The curry and the naans were really good and would want to go again but the whole experience was dented with the Tandoori dish. It looked and seemed that it was cooked earlier and then heated up when ordered. The plate was sizzling hot but the dish was in room temperature and it had lost its moisture and tasted very bland.
Overall had a positive vibe and would go again but would stay away from Tandoori dishes.
This place is always busy and the food is the reason why. The staff are great and the decor is typical. Be prepared to wait if you don't have a booking on the weekends. They also do a healthy takeaway business.
If you are looking for Indian in west end, that this is certainly an option for you. I am a firm believer in most Indian restaurants are reasonable and this is one of them. The food is above average, and the service is what really brings it home and seperates it from the rest. Always a smile and always a delicious curry and naan to follow. Check it!
If you want authentic tasting, affordable Indian then this is the place to go. All my friends love it and choose this place over any other Indian restaurant in Brisbane.
Personally, there's another place I prefer but that's because they do extra buttery & sweet mango and butter chickens. Punjabi palace is less sweet on those dishes but still filling and very tasty.
We are close to here and often go for a late night meal.
Always good and the spices are very authentic.
The service can be slow sometimes and they always seem to have new staff being trained.
Still a great night if you like Indian food.
This place is lots of fun for group dinners. Today I got the $10 lunch special- you have to dine in which isn't always convenient but it was a great place to escape work for a while.
My butter chicken was delicious, chicken well cooked, gravy well seasoned. The rice and small side salad were fresh and cut through the rich gravy. Had a garlic naan for $2 and it was all so good. Major bang for buck
I've been a happy customer of Punjabi for 20 years. Their Chicken Makhini (butter chicken made with tandoori chicken) is the best! The Punjabi naans have to be tasted to be believed, so yummy. The staff are so efficient & friendly and I can't say enough to recommend this restaurant.
Best Indian in Brisbane. I Eat here at least once a week, you won't find better. Tried most Indian around this is leagues ahead of any other
Came here tonight for a reunion of sorts with friends from highschool that I hadn't seen for over a decade. This was the Indian of choice as one of my friend's wife has been coming here for 17 years! I didn't know this before we came and it was only after we had been seated that I found that out, so I was hoping to have something pretty good if not amazing.
I had chosen the Cylon curry with lamb, mild, along with a Punjabi Naan. My wife had chosen a chicken tikka jalfrezi, medium, and an Indian Tea (really just a chai masala), and upgraded the rice to coconut rice.
Quantity - not bad. A reasonable amount of curry and meat in it, not too little that you felt you were getting a bad deal, not too much that you felt it was a waste if you couldn't eat it all. Well proportioned.
Quality - not bad. Not as good as The Chef in Auckland, but by far not as bad as other indian places I have had, and definitely better than also many food court Indian (that itself is another kettle of fish). I did find that my Cylon didn't have anything unusual, while I couldn't pick it, it was very similar to a korma and a 'generic' curry kind of flavour, i.e. it was not distinctive. The Tikka Jalfrezi did have a distinctive taste, and you really could taste the capsicum in the base, though the medium was not by any stretch to my (nor my wife's taste) of a medium heat. The coconut rice was 'alright', so not terribly special, a little bit on the dry side but possibly to help soak up the curry sauces. In regards to the Indian Tea however, it was a little on the weak side flavour wise, and had been pre-taste adjusted for sweetness, so if you preferred more or less sweet, well, too bad.
Atmosphere - The decor of this place was reminicent of 80's and 90's Indian restaurants in Australia. They haven't really moved with the times and possibly don't ever intend to, which is fine, so if you're looking to walk into the past, here is the place to go. They did have the cricket on the television which was good to see, which was then switched to a bollywood film after stumps had been called for the day. Wait staff were reasonable, polite and fast to respond to inquiries, though our table had ordered papadums which didn't materialise and we had to remind them before they did appear.
tl;dr - Reasonable portions, reasonable taste, dated decor, polite service.
Your usual run of the mill Indian restaurant. Nothing too exciting - all the usual dishes, tandoori, tikka, butter chicken, naans etc. Can't complain as it at least it calls itself Punjabi Palace and most of the food is reflective of that region, so you know what you're in for.
I am waiting for the day when the Brisbane/Australian market becomes a little more discerning and we start seeing more restaurants from all the different corners of India with all the various and interesting flavours of that cuisine (I think that's starting to happen).
One of the most delicious Indian cuisine in the town. I tried lots of other Indian food but this one is really recommended for Indian food lovers. The sweet was also fabulous here. A real authentic Indian dining. Should give it a try once.
I found the curry we got to be quite flavourless and bland but it was a dahl, which is usually quite a mild dish so that may have been the case. I would be willing to go back and give this place another try because all the accompanying things were great and the service was fantastic.
With an endless amount of suburban Indian restaurants on offer, it takes something special to warrant travelling for a curry. Luckily for us, we may have happened across one of Brisbane’s best Indian restaurants. Located a stones throw from the South Bank Cultural Centre on bustling Melbourne Street, Punjabi Palace is easily accessible by public transport and there is also an abundance of nearby street parking.
Pretty good Indian lunch for $10. Curries are nice and other side dishes are reliably good as well. Wait times are low and service is good (the staff appear quite stoic which can be off putting, but I find them to be quite switched on).
Hands down best Indian I have had. The most flavoursome and authentic to this date. Can not wait to go again :-) definitely needs to get its ratings up.
I love this place. It's consistently good. Had lunch hear yesterday and am trying to eat more vegetarian food so opted for this place as it has a decent vegetarian menu. Ordered onion Bahji, Alu Palak (spinach and potato curry) and garlic naan. It was delicious, I think they might serve some of the best Naan bread I have ever tasted. Service is efficient and friendly and they don't dilly dally at lunch time so you can get back to work at a reasonable time. Also it's a great price, $9.95 for a curry and rice at lunch.
Some of the best Indian on the Southside with a great menu but usually all you have to get is the butter chicken and the Punjabi Nann and you're set.
I have tried this place a few times and have always had a good experience. I have tried so many Indian restaurants in the past few years throughout the Redlands area and souther Brisbane suburbs and this restaurant is definitely in my top two.
The naan on the other hand is number one out of every restaurant I've been to. I highly recommend the punjabi and chicken paneer naan.
The only thing is that I usually get medium curries but the last time I did here, it was a bit too hot for me. I then tried mild and it was way too mild. This may be because they made a mistake with my order when I ordered medium (either accidentally giving me a hot one or putting a bit too much chilli in) but I will have to try it again to determine this.
However, when it comes to taste, this restaurant is a winner. I highly recommend them.
Has take away here last night and I must say, one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been to. Punjabi was so busy last night for a week night and watching the food come out I could have eaten all of it. Service was friendly and it seemed to be decently priced. I definitely will go back and try a few more things. The take away containers were probably a wee bit small compared to other places but definitely tasty food
We had dinner here. The food was really good but the service was slow. We had to really work at catching the waiter's attention for drinks orders etc. If you like hot, spicey food then be sure to order the hot. I normally like medium and when I tasted the "hot" it was what I would normally consider "mild".
Came here for a birthday dinner with us 8 people, food came really quick as soon as we ordered. and they always keep the same standard which is great.
Mofo Lounge and Morocco Lounge are ideal party venues with exceptional service, tailored to your requirements and in an excellent location. With both upstairs and downstairs at 157 Greville St, Prahran, these two intimate spaces cater to both smaller and larger functions. These rooms seriously have to be some of the most beautifully furnished spaces to party in Melbourne.
If you’re looking for a laid back relaxed vibe party, this is the venue for you!

Had a good yarn with my mother in-law about this place, reckoned it was pretty satisfactory let alone spending 20minutes caring for my crazy crying wife who made a scene about some kind of Naan being too spicy for her.
Toughen up.
Lovely service, loving the hair buns.
A note to 'fall of a Titan'
don't be so tough on yourself
how many restaurants home deliver ??
keep calm & go back to Punjabi Palace
We eat here regularly. On busy days you can be left waiting but normally they are quick. Love the tikka masala and cheese naan.
Rice. They gave us more than enough rice...
Great Indian Lunch Deal. Had the Chicken Tikka Masala lunch deal with plain naan, rice and salad (10.95). The Chicken Tikka Masala was the best I have had in Brisbane. Only tried a few places but this was the best. The naan was different but tasty. All up it will a good deal and the Chicken Tikka Masala had a fragrant taste. Would recommend.
Amazing Indian cuisine. Fantastic food - the butter chicken is some of the best in town, and the garlic cheese naan bread is gorgeous. All the menu is excellent value as well, so enjoy to your heart's (and wallet's) content.
Best Butter Chicken You Will Find. As mentioned in numerous other reviews, the piece de resistance of Punjabi is their delicious butter chicken. I have been coming here, at both locations, since the 90s, and it has always provided consistently good food at a good price. Service isn't amazing, but in their defence they get pretty busy, and it isn't really that sort of restaurant.
Thank you I'll come again!. I've been here a few times now and I think it's definitely one of the good Indian's in Brisbane. Beef Vindaloo - YUM and spicy . Naan - YUM and garlic cheesy. Curry puff - YUM and lots of flavour. Enjoyed the weird indian dancing on the TV.
PUNJAB/10 !
Enjoyed this for dinner. It was quick, tasty and enjoyable atmosphere.
People complain about the service but we had no problems with our friendly waitress
Butter chicken. Best butter chicken ever! the dish is always hit and miss, even in India or the UK but here in Brisbane they have nailed it. I can't recommend it enough
The best Indian restaurant ever! :)) butter chicken is my favorite dishe!!
Thumbs Up. My favourite indian in Brisbane. Always good.
Best indian & best service. Been going to Punjabi for years they even remember us when we go in.
The service is always quick and attentive. Food comes out with decent timing. Curries are great flavour wise but I go a step hotter than normal as they don't seem too hot but I don't mind. Good selection of wine/beer/drinks with byo always good. Upstairs can get noisy on a busy night downstairs is a bit quieter
I hope to keep coming back for many years
Delicious. This is my comfort food place. I love the curries and it's a great family friendly restaurant. Very comfortable and laid back, food is delicious and service is great. I keep coming here again and again :)
Best Chicken Vindaloo in Brisbane. Can't speak for others but have tried many Indian restaurants in and around Brisbane and Punjabi Palace is by far the best for consistency and quality. The Manager is always friendly and courteous and always goes out of his way to make you feel welcome. As a fan of spicy Indian food, I highly recommend their Chicken Vindaloo (hot).. The best I have ever had!! I have tried other dishes on the menu which are also great. Overall full of flavour, the real deal!
Punjabi Palace - South Brisbane. Punjabi Palace is one of the more popular Indian restaurants in Brisbane, particularly in around the core area. It is frequently busy with businessmen and general diners when it is open. While appearing like a restaurant it also has several aspects of a curry house. Ergo, this is one great place to go to with as part of a group.
That is exactly what I did - a decidedly casual end of year function - going here (though I was not the one who planned it). It was a "small" group of about eight or nine and we got a table in the corner. Now the layout of this restaurant is very good, with a semi-central desk for the cashier near the door and a good pattern of tables. There are two levels in the restaurant, where the second one has more of a dining hall kind of vibe to it while it can be safe to say that the lower level is for a more refined (albeit still relatively casual) level of dining.
The decor definitely has character to it and is not overkill like a number of Indian eateries can be at times. Regardless, I appreciate the atmosphere here at dinner time and where else for a casual meet up?
I was the first one here by far that night. While I was waiting I ordered a mango lassi to drink. This was really good; it had the texture of yoghurt thus it did not seem like an indecisive smoothie that some other places might serve up.
Hereafter, when most of the rest finally arrived it was time to start pondering what to order. Logically, most people would go for the banquet option but there was an air of reluctance from a number of the party members (if it were mostly male, I can bet that the opportunity would have jumped on quite quickly) so it was basically a number of curries (rice and naan as well, of course) with a entree ordered.
Regardless, about seven different main dishes were ordered (one person did not arrive until around the end and there was a consensus that seven would be adequate between eight). Each curry bar mine was ordered medium as not everyone there was so daring with spicy food; I went more subtle than usual and got medium-hot as opposed to plain hot (just to note, there would only be the implication that I could for me to order as such).
Thankfully people here were the sharing kind. The dishes I got to try were the beef Punjabi special, a lamb palak, a prawn biryani and an alu matar.
These curries are competently cooked and do have a good depth of flavour. It is a little hard, however, to tell them apart for the most part.
To begin there was some paneer pakoras. These were fairly good but amongst what followed they were not really memorable. Paneer though is more of a texture cheese than a taste cheese - many other entrees were there, but what can be done?
The stand-out in my mind was the Punjabi special, which had an unusual addition to the dish in the form of sultanas with a basic marsala and cashews. There was not an overbearing flavour and when you got a taste of the sultanas and cashews you could tell. The beef was cooked until soft with a surprisingly subdued taste.
While I do think the lamb in the lamb curry was tasty, it was difficult to detect spinach in it - a bit monotonous for such a characteristic curry. It was far from bad though, but I have had better palak curries.
The alu matar was also a good curry, with the potatoes cut into manageable sizes. Much different from what most vegetarian curries are prepared, it was bold in flavour and choice of spices to use.
Probably because it was the only non-curry in the mains, the prawn biryani was the most distinctive dish of the night. The flavour went all-through the rice which made the ratio of prawns (and whatever other ingredients there were)-to-rice not an issue. It had enough oily residue to be certain of flavour without enough to feel a bit queasy afterwards). As a personal bonus, I managed to get this as a doggy bag as the lady who ordered it was not really keen on finishing it or getting the doggy bag as such herself.
On the side were the usual rice and a couple of varieties of naan - plain and cheese. I got to have the cheese naan and - outside of the biryani - did not have any rice (no conscious or subconscious reasons). They were generous with the cheese, as when the naan was pulled apart there was the characteristic stretch clearly visible. One of the absolute truths with eating Indian is that it is not complete without some form of naan (or roti) on the side.
After the mains were finished, the biryani was put in a doggy bag and a confusion of who was going and staying for a bit longer amidst several goodbyes it was time for dessert. This is around when the last member showed up. She and I were the only ones to order dessert - which was gulab jamun. I had mine "hot" which means without ice cream. The best way to describe gulab jamun is to think of small doughnuts in a puddle of rose-flavoured syrup.
These were delicious, the rose flavoured syrup was simultaneously distinct and subtle - it is hard to describe the general taste to someone who does not know as I cannot think of something that it is absolutely similar to for an analogy. The doughnuts were fluffy on the inside and absorbed the syrup readily. Often when it comes to an Indian feast, I am too full to attempt the dessert (if you want full honesty, it begins to get hard to go to the main curries after a lot of entrees - particularly if it is a buffet) but for once I could actually tackle the sweets without thinking groaning.
The highlight of the night might have actually been the company, but often that usually elevates what a meal is like overall. Independently, I think it is safe to say that the meal was still pretty good. It is apparent why so many people flock to Punjabi Palace in terms of its quality of cooking and having so many workplaces close by helps it a lot. I can see a good chance that I will be here again, be it invitation or I actively go there myself. Some of the better value Indian in Brisbane and a top place to catch up with people.
I think this is the best Indian anywhere. I've done Brick Lane, SE Asia and Punjabi is still my favourite. I usually get the Ceylon but any of them are winners.
Had takeaway and was pleasantly surprised. One of the better Indian restaurants in brissy and the best Tandoori chicken I've had locally.
Excellent. I have eaten here many times and it's always good. My favourite Indian restaurant in the city.
Very nice food. Tried mango chicken, amazingly nice.
Still my favourite Indian in Brisbane. Favourite is Chicken Mahkini
Loved this place! Went on a busy Friday night and the food was served surprisingly quickly and the service was great. Plus I was with two Indian friends, one Punjabi and one Indian-Malay, and they both liked it which I think says a lot for the food!
One of the best Indian restaurants in Brisbane. I am an Indian and often reluctant to eat at Indian restaurants around here, as most of them are crap and not authentic.
Punjabi Palace changed that for me.. I went there for lunch one day, and their lunch specials are great. I had the Butter Chicken, Samosa, Spinach Naan and also tasted the Palak Panneer. They were all just brilliant! It is one of the best Indian food that I have had in Australia since coming here.
Other than their lunch specials, their main menu did seem a bit pricy.. but the tasty food will make you overlook it.
I highly recommed this place.... if you are after authentic tasty Indian food!
Good food, great price,decent service
The best Indian food in brisbane. The food & service is fantastic. if u want ur food delivered order bout 45mins in advance because they get really busy. flavoursome food every time!
Delicious!. Had dinner here the other night with my partner, best Indian I've had!
Definitely worth the money and wait for a table if they are really busy. I'd recommend you try the Butter Chicken and Punjabi Naan.
Will be coming back again!
Good curry and good service! Really enjoyed the food here!
Have been here quite a few times now and it hasn't disappointed yet. Had the Tikka Masala and it was full of flavour. Loved the garlic cheese naan as well. Service was good and the meals came out nice and quick. Will defiantly be back.
Love!. This place is excellent, so good I chose it for my birthday venue. Banquet is always a goer at indian restaurants, this is no exception. You will end up fuller than if you go to an all you can eat, the food is that tasty you will push past the point of pain to shove another bite in. Peshwari naan with chicken tikka - my mouth is watering just thinking about it! Atmosphere is busy with lots of large groups, so probably not the best for intimate dinner but excellent if you want delicious food and lots of it.

Just had a kick ass curry, narn, rice and salad for 10.95
Good Indian, Fantastic Naan. I have been to few Indian restaurants and Punjabi Palace is probably the only one that I would go back to. Despite its 'not so Indian' food according to my Indian friend, their 'Chicken Makhini' tastes pretty damn good and their Naan is just absolutely beautiful.
Tandoori chicken in the curry is just so moorish and all the meats are so pleasantly tender. My favourite Garlic and Cheese Naan should be described as perfection. Although it can be slightly too garlic-y, if you're not a big fan of garlic.
Service is not so great. But I didn't mind too much as they're always packed and sacrifice on service can be expected in such restaurant.
If you're unsure about this place after reading all these reviews, I'd say you should give them a try.
Delicious!. I went here after a night out at The Fox!It was really good, I have to say!
Especially the peshuari naan!!
Great value too!
I was recommended this place by an Indian taxi driver who said it was the best Indian joint in BNE!
Might not quite say the BEST, but it was pretty good! I would return more often if I lived in the area!
Great Indian in Brisbane. Service here is fairly inconsistent, but I will always recommend this place. Chicken Makhini, Butter Paneer and Punjabi Naans are awesome - I've rarely tried anything else on the menu cause I can't get past the yumminess of these great dishes! I nearly always get take-away, but this is also a great place for a big group dinner.
Best Indian in town. It's all about the food here. We forgive the daggy decor and occasionally so-so service (manager is always outstanding though) because this is the best and most addictive indian food we've add, and that includes India. And so affordable. Try the Butter Mattar Paneer or the Prawn Malai. And their punjabi naan bread. Divine.
The best indian food in Brizzy!i love the korma chicken, butter chicken n palak paneer!esp when u eating it with cheese naan...exceptional!!
Naan!. Went here for dinner and the place was just buzzing on a Friday night. A lengthy que at the door so definitely book in advance if you're planning to do dinner at prime time. I got a vegetarian curry. Not authentic exactly, but still beautiful, creamy and rich flavour. A bit on the spicy side so definitely order mild if you can't handle chilli. I couldn't finish my meal (definitely not due to taste) and they put the rest in a container for me. Garlic and cheese naan was amazing. Definitely not authentic, but delicious anyway! Really good prices too. All curries seem to be under 20 dollars and vegetarian dishes less than 15! Naan was very decently priced in my opinion, less than 5 dollars for a massive serving. Disliked the fried paneer though (my friend got it), however the delicious naan and rich curry made up for that completely! However, service did start to lack after our meal was completed. But staff still seemed friendly enough, just a tad tired.
Amazing food and nice setting. Food here is amazing, curries and naan make a lovely combination. Setting and atmosphere is great, and staff are friendly.
Great curry!. OK, so you wouldn't go to Punjabi Palace for the decor... it's very daggy! But the food is great, service fairly prompt (given it is usually packed), and the price is right. Recommend the lunch special.
Awesome food, would eat here everyday if I could! Great Value meals, friendly staff, best Indian in Brisbane.
Good food, service and atmosphere. Massive bonus is that it's byo all alcohol, not just wine
Good-ish indian. Nice palak paneer effort. curries seem to be good in general.
Best curries in Brisbane by far!!
Brilliant Indian resturant. The diverse menu is full of flavour with a good selection of starters, breads, mains and deserts. Price was very reasonable accross the menu and serving size was excellant. You won't be hungry after eating here. Quick service even though fully booked. A definate 9/10
Best Indian in Brisbane! Highly recommend the Chicken Makhini! Nothing else like it!!
The Enigmatic Truffle
+4.5
Yes, agree with the crowds. Yes, it is true. Really nice curry. I had a vegetarian one with indian cheese, that was slightly on the sweet side, and that was one of the nice curries that I have had for a long time. Definitely share a few, so that you get to try a variety. You will be licking the bowl!
I've heard punjabi palace called "the best Indian food outside of India" and there's no argument on that from me. Service is great and the food is even better, the naan breads a highlight. Definitely recommend particularly if you're looking for somewhere to host large groups as they have a large upstairs area available too.
A friend and I ended up at Punjabi Palace in South Brisbane for dinner. We had been going back and forth over where to meet.
Punjabi Palace cooks the most amazing cheese and garlic naan bread! This is the place I take all my Indian food loving friends. Their Butter Chicken is so tender and tasty it makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
I thought that the banquet was a good choice, especially if you are clueless as to what to order (like me...) and I couldn't fault any of the dishes but the tandoori drumsticks were my favourite.
There’s no better way to spend an evening than with a big group of friends, a few bottles of wine and amazingly good Indian food. I was fortunate enough to enjoy all of the above over the weekend.
Authentic curry house feel spills onto the streets of the West End from Punjabi Palace, an Indian restaurant where the very smell of the mains evoke images of far off lands.
What amazing flavours🍽. The $32 Banquet was a total 🏆 winner. Fast delivery of food to the table, attentive staff and very friendly. Good selection of drinks menu. Absolutely will eat or get delivery from here when back in Brisbane (From Melbourne)
Ordered butter chicken, tikka masala, garlic naan and saffron rice. Taste of the curries were quite good and delicious, however portions are quite small and very expensive. The curries were around $20 each - and really just for one person. Garlic naan was alright but could use more improvements in my options - the overall texture wasn’t great and didn’t taste much of the garlic.
Best Indian Restaurant in Brisbane.
Punjabi palace is my favorite Indian restaurant in town; paintings on the wall display the spirit of India. Staff members are very friendly and with great customer service skills. Food is prepared with fresh and high quality ingredients.
The food is sensational. Garlic cheese naan is so tasty by itself; and if you dip them in the curries, you won't be able to stop eating them. I ordered 2 initially and my tummy requested me to add another 2.
For the curries, I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Beef Ceylon both with mild flavor. The chicken was cooked skillfully that all the flavor had been soaked up by the meat. The beef was tender, juicy and easy to chew.
I definitely recommend the restaurant and I will come back again in the near future to try different dish on the menu.
Best Indian we have ever tried!! Other restaurants are okay but this is the best - the flavours are just perfect. At other Indian restaurant all you can taste is grease, oil & chilli but the flavours at Punjabi Palace are sensational. We tried this restaurant for the first time yesterday and they were absolutely packed upstairs and downstairs despite the other restaurants in the area being empty and now we know why! Service was fast (considering how busy it was) and staff were so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back again and again!
The curries were very fragrant and creamy. My favourite Indian restaurant in Brisbane
Punjabi Palace has a very nice family atmosphere, excellent service and delicious food at a reasonable price.
Unique ambience - the music is not loud, just pleasant background chatter.
I also like that I don’t feel rushed like in other restaurants where they are eager to take the plates away.
They are also open till late.
Cosy restaurant, good service and authentic Punjab cuisine.
