Review Yellowfin Seafood & Grill - Brisbane

2 men shared the seafood platter. I would recommend this to serve 2 people unless there are light eaters in the group. The fish and chips was delicious. The vegetarian meal was not very nice. Not much flavour and rather watery. Service was great. Lovely location.

Excellent service and food. We had our toddler with us, and the waitress brought over colouring equipment for us without us asking. She was very attentive but not pushy. The seafood was tasty and fresh. It was a wonderful experience.

Ordered oysters as an entree and market fish of the day, hotplate and the beef ragu for the main. It took way over an hour for our food to be served even though there had been little to no people in the restaurant. Food looked nice, but the taste was very average. Out of all the restaurants in that strip by South Bank, this place was one of the quietest. Overal, average restaurant with average food. Was looking forward to a better experience :/

Nice place that predominantly serves seafood. We ordered chips and pasta in addition to the seafood platter. The seafood was grilled in a lot of olive oil, which I didn’t mind but my companion, not so much. The chips had the right crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. The pasta was al dente 👍 but the dish tasted bland. Service was average but not unpleasant. I got to see the fairy lights switch on as the sun set, which was pretty. I liked the experience overall.

After reading fantastic review my husband has booked this restaurant for Wednsday dinner. Service was friendly and helpful. Great list of drinks and nice foods menue. As we did come for seafood we did listen carefuly and have choosed our seafood from suggestions. Unfortunately I have to say, with big sadness foods have disappointed us. Chargrilled octopus tentacles have been not chargrilled but rather in chilli sauce. Hot seafood platter, not worth $47. If they at least addled some chips to it, maybe you can say it was ok. We had order turkish bread to compliment this meal. Fish of day was burramandy and it was the best of all. Please note every single meal above had the same base ( with finely choped apple) and sauces, so all have tasted same. I think is not worth money paid.

My husband brought me here for date night, we had such a wonderful evening. The wait staff were fabulous, very prompt with their service and friendly. The food didn't take long at all and was quite the site! (We ordered the lobster and bug share platter) I've never had seafood at a restaurant before so this was all new to me. I thoroughly enjoyed it! The bugs were beautiful and lobster divine. I'm not a fan of cold prawns, but everything else was great. I would love to see an option for hot prawns in a nice creamy garlic sauce 😍 Happy to come back and recommend!!

Took my partner here for our anniversary and im so glad I did. The food was delicious, the service was great and the cocktails were amazing. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

I loved the place.. The environment is nice and relaxing. The food is delicious and very satisfying... I would definitely bring my friends and come again!!

Dry food over cooked steak don’t bother

The seafood here is really really nice. They were happy to swap whatever we didnt eat. <br/>The calamari was delicious. I will say that the service was very very slow, they do need more staff on especially on a Friday night. <br/>Generous portions. Will be back xx

The seafood was nice. Service is a bit slow as there is only 1 waitress serving the whole restaurant.

The ambiance was wonderful, food was an absolute treat and the service was excellent ! Located on a prime position in Brisbane, just across from Southbank.<br/><br/>I look forward to returning back here, on my next trip to Brisbane.

Flavourful dishes & reasonable prices. Unfortunately the fish was over-cooked. Disorganized servers also detracted from the evening. Definitely has the potential to be a 5/5, just not this time...(3.5/5)

Was absolutely starving when my friend decided to choose this place. The waitress appeared none to pleased about us arriving for dinner at 9pm. We proceeded to order a dozen and a half oysters which weren’t fresh. Then once out mains came out we never saw the waitress again. My seafood pasta was very bland and there wasn’t any salt or pepper on the table. We poured our own $50 wine too. This place isn’t cheap bu any standards but the service and food certainly is.

Recently dined at Yellowfin Seafood & Grill earlier in the week. I had a voucher via Groupon for their Seafood Platter for Two (was wanting to surprise my partner with something special).<br/><br/>As mentioned below by someone else who has reviewed them, the place is incredibly busy and our order appeared to have been overlooked as well - whether it was a docket issue or not, I'm not sure.<br/><br/>That said, there were several new staff on shift, and all of the wait staff were very friendly, helpful, attentive and we were offered drink/s on the house when they realized we still hadn't received our meal. <br/><br/>The attention they gave us though made up for a few hunger pains... and the size of the seafood platter itself is incredible (we literally could not finish it!!)<br/><br/>We really enjoyed the meal - the oysters were very fresh, the scallops cooked to perfection! The atmosphere in the restaurant itself was very ambient, the mural on the wall was rather funky and intriguing too (an underwater scene).<br/><br/>Overall, we both enjoyed the experience, the meal, and left there feeling rather full and satisfied.<br/> EDIT: Recently discovered that sand crab was missing from the platter. Apparently, we're in low shortage here in Brisbane (but we're not advised of this upon ordering/redeeming coupons).Whilst I understand that they replaced sand crab with 'spanner' crab (after sending through a message inquiring about the missing crab) - it was via a 'loaded' salad taco style shell (I HATE anything loaded unless it's a baked potato so I looked at that and dismissed it just as quickly... not knowing that was our 'crab' - so I can't comment on the taste etc).<br/><br/>I have been in communication with the restaurant since, whilst they've been super polite in their responses, I kind of feel like they're hiding behind the 'new restaurant/new staff' excuse... I have worked in hospitality before... I know mistakes can be made (I even made some myself), but so many in one night isn't usual.<br/><br/>I understand it was a rather busy night - especially for new staff. I'd have liked to have give them a higher rating, but it's a 3 from me... I still enjoyed the meal, the staff were attentive, friendly, but too many mistakes to overlook (and this wouldn't be an honest review if I didn't base it on my own personal experience).I have hope that things will improve, and they'll do a LOT better once they find feet... it's rather hard starting out new, so I'll give leniency based on that.

This place is absolutely busy and that we didn’t get our order 50 minutes later , other people who came after us received their meals first , really not fair at all!

Had dinner with my hubby at Yellowfin tonight. The oysters & scollops are fresh and yummy! I think the salmon is one of the bests in Brisbane~ The eye fillet is nice and juicy as well. But the watermelon mocktail we had was quite normal..... feels like watermelon + soda.....that’s it..... Overall, quite nice place!

We went there for a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint. The seafood platter for 2 was very generous with a good selection of seafood. Moreton bay bugs, sand crab, scallops, oysters, chilled king prawns, smoked salmon, clams, prawn skewers, beer battered barramundi, calamari, salad, chips & dipping sauces<br/>Highly recommend.

No better venue for fresh Seafood in South Bank, the Hervey Bay Scallops were HUGE and cooked to tender perfection, the prawns fresh and full of flavour. Topped off our visit with a couple cocktails, big assortment, all seem to pair really well with the menu. Will absolutely be back again - soon!
