BEST roast duck in Brisbane! I’ve always ordered the roast duck with dry noodle omg it’s the best. Big enough portion for 2 servings or just 1 serving if you feel like it. Lovely staff and service. Small but very authentic place.
This is probably one of my first Chinese bbq to try here. So simple yet so delicious. I really enjoyed the chicken and duck options along with the rice. Defintley need to return for some more

Rated 3.5. Went here with the parents for a second lunch after craving some roast duck in the Fortitude Valley area.
We ordered to share:
- Half roast duck: crispy skinned, succulent roast duck; albeit a little salty, so suggest having with rice to soak it up a little bit.
- Roast pork egg noodles: comforting egg noodle soup with bok choy, and a side plate of also crispy-skinned roast pork.
- Vegetable egg noodles: the exact same egg noodle soup with bok choy (no added/different vegetables).
The in-house chilli satay condiment is also quite fiery! Complimentary self-served water available at the corner of the restaurant, near the kitchen door.
Generous portions of food. Service was reasonably friendly and efficient (although needed to be reminded of our roast pork side). Would suggest ordering the dried noodles/rice options as they seemed more value for the protein-to-carbohydrate proportions. Would also consider ordering the roast duck as takeaway as there seems to be a fair price difference between half-duck eat-in ($26) versus half-duck takeaway ($15).
Overall, a very popular spot for roast pork and duck (and rightly so), however would consider takeaway options.
Yum yum yum yum. Please just go here for the food. Everything else is quite basic but you won't care because the food is soo delicious. Looks like this place has a lot of regular customers which is an excellent sign but we went here based on the reviews on Zomato and the food delivered. Can't wait to go back.
O-M-G! Literally the best dinner I have ever had in the city. Generous if not big portion lol.. you get what you pay for. Moist bbq pork and crunchy. Maybe will be 6 stars if they debone the chicken and duck. Man the chilli burns in your mouth. Really good dumpling soup as well. Not too salty. Good comfort food.

Coming from a Chinese background I felt like I was eating at a friends home. Very authentic. Only criticism is that they didn’t allow me to pay with card (for a $35 total) but had just allowed a Caucasian lady pay for something $15 just before. Authentic.
It's nothing special except excellent food. Don't go for the ambiance, melamine dishes, or fantastic service. The service was fast and friendly none the less. The food arrived fast and hot. Portions were generous and tasty. Go for the food.
Golden BBQ is always my favourite place for a quick lunch in Chinatown. The prices and portions are reasonable. Loved the steamed egg noodle with wontons and thick sliced char chiu pork, served with a bowl of soup on the side. The place only accepts cash and that is the only thing I’m not happy with.
I ordered roasted duck with rice and it was the best dish i ate so far in brisbane, and the best roasted duck i have so far in my life. The food is really delicious with a generous portion and good price. The staff are really friendly and helpful. I surely will be back for more!
Takeaway roast duck and roast pork a few days ago from Golden BBQ. From memory this roast meats restaurant has been Brisbane's best for at least two decades. Rather than have the roast duck and roast pork chopped up and packed away in takeaway containers, I prefer to buying them whole and roasting them at home before serving. The duck and pork skin will crisp up in the oven after 30 minutes on 180 degrees. Yum!
I have been coming here for years, with my family as a child and later introducing my friends to it as an adult. Consistently good, every single time. I always order the steamed noodles with red bbq pork and wontons, just delicious. It's cheap, the serving sizes are definitely generous and the complimentary soup is so good.
This place is a hidden gem in Fortitude Valley and I will keep coming back here for years to come. Hands down my favourite place to get fresh wontons in Brisbane.

Gloden BBQ is a legend for BBQ meat in Fortitude Valley. I have never dined here before, but I have enjoyed their takeaway for numerous time. 16 AUD or so for half duck is very good price considering that it means food for me at least for three days. It was on Chinese New Year when I though about having duck for dinner. They sold out really early that day and while I was waiting on line, some girls ordered noodles with duck, but have been turned down as the shop run out of it. I was thinking about getting some pork instead, but I have asked for duck at first anyway. Lady at the counter told me to wait a little and when girls have left the shop, she gave me a duck. She told me that she has the last one and she did not want to sell it to them, but she will give me half, probably because I'm Asian too. I'm not gonna complain about her turning down customer for my benefit, but if I have sent my (European) boyfriend instead, we would ended up without dinner that day :D But I guess it just shows how popular they are being sold out at noon that day. I'm always satisfied with the buy.
This is a typical Chinese BBQ restaurant with glistening roast ducks, soya chickens, BBQ pork and crispy roast pork hanging in the window. It's busy and noisy and not a place to linger after you've eaten your meal, but all the roast meats are delicious and fresh. When you order a BBQ meat combination with rice or noodles it comes with a tasty hot broth and we love the roasted chilli garlic oil - it's really spicy!
New favorite! The roast duck rice at Golden Barbeque is flavorful and generous. For $14, one gets a tasty hot broth with vegetables and strands of egg, to start, and a large plate of meaty duck with crisp-ish skin, well cooked cabbage, and hot rice soaked with a concoction of the duck's flavorful fat and juices and sweet soy. I don't particularly like sweet tasting savory dishes, but this was not cloying or flat. In fact, the sweetness is a necessary counterpoint to the savory duck and adds another dimension to the dish. This is a delicious (and freshly cooked!) complete meal! The take away price for one whole duck is only $30 :D
When I was a kid my dad used to come here every trip to Brisbane and I'd go get a soft serve from Maccas instead...all those wasted opportunities! For many years, this place has been a family favourite for delicious, cheap, authentic Chinese BBQ. Personally I recommend the BBQ pork, roast pork and roast duck combo on rice...but whatever you get, ask for the ginger on the side!

Don’t expect anything fancy; expect to feel as though you’re in a small Hong Kong eatery because that’s what it reminded me of. It’s a little grimy, it’s a little hot inside and it’s not flash by any means, but the food here is really great. Huge portions for cheap prices and the meats are cooked deliciously. The complimentary soup that comes with a plate of roasts is a good accompaniment to the meal, it really balances out the richness of the duck and pork. I always go with the intention of trying the noodle soup, but I always end up getting the barbecue because I love it so much. This place is my go to for Chinese barbecue, can't wait until I can make it there again.
Most close friends and family would agree, that there is hardly anyone lazier or more of a control freak than me. With this in mind, it was inevitable that the recent prevalence of food delivery services, I would eventually put in an order, which is what we did last Friday upon giving in to our cravings for the roasted meats at Golden Barbecue. Not having ordered before, I was quite impressed with the order tracking facility which meant that I was able to have a good understanding of when food was being cooked and when it was due to arrive.

This time we order the Five Treasure with Steamed Rice to share. The proportion is amazingly big! I am glad we decide to share. The Five Treasure includes roasted duck, roasted pork, soya chicken, BBQ pork and egg. This gives you the whole beauty of Chinese barbecue. Each ingredient is great although I personally think the BBQ pork is cut too thick to eat.
My favourite is roasted duck > roasted pork > soya chicken > BBQ pork. The Five Treasure is good to try which one you like.
Love the BBQ pork here, especially the crispy skin one; if aren't a big fan of pork....the next up is the chicken.
I love to go with their dry noodles....and the most unforgettable thing is the CHILLI sauce...u don't have to ask them for it is on every table !!!!!
Went here last Thursday after reading all the reviews. But sadly all the prices had increased from the outdated menu I saw online and were now... more EXPENSIVE D: $16.50 for soy chicken + roast duck with steamed rice. The portion of duck and chicken was big, tasty and loosely resembles the real local ones I usually have outside Australia (Yes, I'm asian/chinese) But still, it would take more for that price tag $$$$$ Money problem for uni students are real

Golden BBQ... the BBQ gem in the Valley! It doesn't look like much but don't let that fool you, it's all about the food here. Very friendly service and the food is absolutely outstanding!!! It has been consistently good for 10+ years, food and service. I can't recommend this place enough!

I grew up in Sunnybank so I know asian food, I eat at this place sometimes 3-4 times per week, they know me by name and remember I hate coriander. I've tried all the Chinese bbq restaurants in the valley and sunnybank and this is by far the best, personally after eating at all of them I don't bother going back to the others. Tip: always add a little chilli and soy sauce and request ginger if your having a rice or dry noodle dish ;)
Probably one of the best Chinese Restaurants in Brisbane! Amazing value, wonderful family run business. May not look super flash outside, but gosh the food is delicious. Great for casual dining, and family/friend catch ups

Heck Yes!. This place is hands down one of the best restaurants in Brisbane. They hold no illusions about who they are and what they do. As soon as you walk through the door you're stepping into Little Hong Kong. I have a particular fondness for their beef brisket noodle soup, or anything that contains their in-house roasted duck, bbq pork, or roast pork. Wicked chili if you need to spice it up. Go here.
Without a doubt the best chinese bbq we have had in the valley. It's tasty, cheap and the service is good. Our server was funny, efficient and friendly. The roasted pork is crispy and full of flavor! The BBQ pork or char Sui was sweet and not too fatty. Plenty of asians here so you know the food is authentic! Must eat here, forget the yum cha places, skip them. Come here!
Simple, tasty, home-style Chinese meals. You won't get sweet and sour pork or cashew whatever here - just simple home-style cooking with their specialty roast meats. I always get the soups, my favourite being the BBQ pork and Wonton Noodle Soup. The wontons are really tasty with pork, prawn and mushroom. The portions are huge so we order 2 dishes and take a spare plate to pile food onto for our 4yo. I also get this soup as a take away sometimes, and they offer it in separate containers so the soup doesn't get soaked up by the noodles. And I just assemble it when I get home - easy. I also stop by here to pick up some bbq pork (char siu) for home cooking, too. I notice they're open for breakfast too, so I'll be stopping by here for some hot soup next winter.
One of the best Chinese BBQ restaurants in Brisbane. If you're after roast pork, roast duck, or soya chicken, this is the place for you! Absolutely love the taste of the roast BBQ dishes here (tried the fried rice and it wasn't as good) and their portions are v satisfying. Golden BBQ is definitely one of our faves in Chinatown esp for good old yummy and reasonably priced BBQ meals. We're always satisfied and happy when we leave!

One of the best in Brisbane!. One of the best restaurants in Brisbane for lovers of food. Decor is simple, service is direct but very quick. The roast duck is amazing, the soya chicken moist and delicious and the BBQ pork the best I have had in Brisbane. I am a regular here and have brought in lots of people and they all love it! Not the place for a quiet, romantic dinner but the food is simply awesome.

Delicious and addictive. We've been there so many times. To be precise, every time we feel like BBQ pork which is fairly often. It was so tasty that we agreed to ignore the poor service and just concentrate on our food. Like someone said, this place is truly a restaurant with 'order, eat, and go' policy.
Despite the fact that, a few times, two of people in our group on our table was forced to give up their seats before the other two could finish the meal and had to wait outside, this place still delivered great simple food that we will crave for more.

On a lazy Friday afternoon, a few colleagues and I decided we wanted to go get lunch somewhere. A regular place we frequent is Golden BBQ, so off we headed. Golden BBQ is situated on Wickham Street, in China Town. It's been there as long as I can remember, which goes to show how long it's managed to stay around for. It also apparently holds a reputation within the Asian circles as to having the best roasted pork in Brisbane ～(^з^)-♡. Upon entering, you can see the prices for takeaway bbq are listed on the wall. Apparently they are slightly higher than the norm that you would find in Sunnybank, however difference in quality is definitely worth that little bit more. We arrived at 12.30, and they were already almost sold out! The environment and seating provided are very basic, but Golden BBQ tends to go for efficiency and speed rather than ambiance. Whilst it was very busy today, and we had to wait outside for a vacancy, what I found particularly impressive was that the owner took initiative to take our orders whilst we were waiting outside, and food was promptly served as soon as we sat down. A point to note though, is that water is on a self serve basis. A complementary soup is provided for all rice and dry noodles ordered. Today's soup was a Chinese Vegetable soup, with leafy greens. It was a refreshing start to what would be a very meaty meal. This is the Roast Duck Rice. The portion of duck provided was very generous, and I hear that the texture of the rice, and the sauce was nice. What I found particularly impressive about this BBQ pork rice, was the lack of fat. As a (mildly) health conscious individual, when I see a strip of fat on my meat, I make some effort to avoid eating it. My usual experience with BBQ pork is that it has a section of fat on it. I really liked how the BBQ pork at Golden BBQ didnt have that there. This is the two combination with dried noodle, the two choices being Roast Duck and Roast Pork. The servings were very generous. this is too good. we visited Brisbane for 3 days and we came here twice after the first visit by a local friend's recommendations. tje food is too good that we finished everything in 15 minutes. highly recommended!
Not too bad, hits the spot when you are craving some char siu, duck etc. Lady boss is quite nice, chatty and friendly. Although prices are a bit on the expensive side; overall this is a place where I would go when I’m craving some kind of bbq meat and don’t want to travel all the way down to sunnybank.
This I the cheapest restaurant in Chinatown in the Fortitude Valley. They offer daily special from $10. you can dine in or take away. For dine in, you will be given a vegetable soup for free, or pumpkin soup. This is the store where I buy Roasted Duck ( my favourite) you can buy it whole or half duck. They also have Barbecue pork, Chinese sausage these are hanging on their store window, if youre early enough you will be able to buy chicken feet, my favourite. The store is kept clean at all times. Nothing fancy but food is delicious and always fresh. The owner and staff are very friendly and always welcoming. There’s a limited roadside parking so I always park at McQwirters or on Little St across the road then short walk to the store.

I've been eating here for nearly 20 years. The BBQ is the best around. The sauce on the noodles is exceptional, and the complementary soup with each dish is simple, fresh and seasonal. I'll be going here for as long as they stay open.
