Review The Lamb Shop - Brisbane

That char grilled meat is definitely tasty. All seems like good quality, but a shame it falls flat on value. Most expensive takeaway lunch I've had in ages.. small combo plate of chicken and lamb was $26.50.

It was a nicely flavoured yiros but it was tiny and really lacked that tangy, garlic punch of a great tzatziki. The salad in the yiros was pretty ordinary. The pita was great and I would love the option of a small and large yiros as this really small for $16. I do like the fact that the lamb is cooked over the coals and will ask next time if there are larger options. I will definitely go back.

This place is amazing... Had some laugh and good time with the staff And most importantly I love the lamb... It's soft and has a little bit like a really really bit of fat taste but in a GOOD WAY 🀩😍 Don't worry about the price, give it a go and I'm sure you won't be disappointed πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

From a Geek background this may not be for you. Service is good and atmosphere ok. Unfortunately I had a fatty grisly chicken sovlaki with no flavour, at round $15 each. Not something I would go back for. Wheelchair and stroller accessible although only high stools and high table.

Great service, trendy place. Flavours were all there but it could do with a tad more meat and a touch less lettuce. Overall great experience, will be back.

Casual venue with friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately I found the food salty and a little on the fatty side. I tried the daily special which included chicken and lamb with coleslaw, pita and chips. The chicken and chips were pretty salty. Overall the experience was ok.

Very good place to have a quick bite for lunch or spend time with friends. I only tried lamb souvlaki and they were very tasty and tender. The price is a bit high compared to size of portions they offer. Finding parking spot is sometimes challenging. I noticed that finding parking spot at Costlin street and walk to the lamb shop is easier than driving up and down the king street to park my car.

Thoroughly deserves five stars. Delicious food, great service. Had lamb souvlaki and garlic and feta loaded fried - so good. Definitely check it out!

Since the early days of King Street, I have long wanted to try out The Lamb Shop. Every time I walk past, I am always tempted by the wafting smell of char grilled lamb emanating from the store, but invariably, every time, I had made alternate dinner plans. Tasked with organising girl's night dinner, there was finally nothing standing in my way from trying it out and enjoying a feast of lamb over with great company.

I love lamb especially when it's cooked over an open fire pit so I've been looking forward to going to the lamb shop for some time. Staff are friendly and the aromas are great and the lamb is cooked really well But I just have to say I was a little disappointed in terms of value for money. We shared the lamb plate which comes with 200grams of perfectly cooked lamb with one thin coat of tzatziki painted across the plate and 4 small pita breads. It looked pretty sparse on the big plate. The coleslaw was good and a decent size but the 1 piece of grilled sheeps milk cheese whilst tasty was 12.50 add 2 beers and 2 glasses of wine and there wasn't much change out of a $100. So in short I enjoyed the meal but it's quite expensive for what you get and the quoted $55 average price for two is unrealistic.
Wow! Ninja Will puts your souvlaki together unlike anyone I have ever seen before. We sat at the counter and saw him dishing up some corn on the charcoals and had complete food envy and had to order some too. Do yourself a favour and try the lam b souvlaki... We will back...tomorrow ;p

Casual Greek style. Very friendly and helpful staff with super gyros. I’m not a chicken person but it was amazing, incredibly tender and then the lamb kicked it’s arse.....A definite local staple for some fast and high quality Greek!

There are so many choices on King Street we could not decide until Paul Chan said he could smell char grilled Lamb in the air. Following our noses, we found this Greek restaurant grilling Lamb on a Spit over red hot coals.

We are sold! We manage to get the last table and quickly place our order. Our Dinner arrives after a short wait.

*Char Grilled Lamb Ribs ($16.50) are perfectly seasoned and grilled. They taste amazing and this dish is a Winner. Rating: 5.0

*Char Grilled Lamb Souvlaki ($15.50) with onions, parsley and chips is good. It would have been better had there been more Lamb. Rating: 4.0

*Char Grilled Lamb Souvlaki ($15.50) with tomato, lettuce, onion and tzatziki is also good but needs more Lamb. Rating: 4.0

We enjoy our meal here and will return to try more Lamb dishes. Thank you guys!

Succulent, tender, juicy, crispy, soft are all words that come to mind, when I had the lunch special here (succulent, tender, juicy lamb from the spit, crispy cabbage slaw and chips, soft warm pita bread and tzatziki) plus attentive table service, asking to top up my drinks order. Great!

Went here for a dinner snack on a drizzly Friday night. There were a few people around, however still plenty of available seating indoors and outdoors.

We ordered a lamb souvlaki with chips to share. The lamb was tender, moist and flavourful. The pita bread was also one of the softest pitas that we have tried - wonderful. A good portion of meat within the souvlaki, although we hoped for more hot crispy chips within the souvlaki to balance it out more.

Casual ambience - takeaway or eat-in options available. Friendly service. Reasonable prices.

Overall, a solid souvlaki option in Bowen Hills.

Friendly service and quick but unfortunately like other reviewers over priced for serving size. $15 for a small souvlaki is way over odds. For $15 needs to be biggest serving to fill anyone up at lunch.

The food here is enjoyable but it's really overpriced. The Souvlaki alone doesn't fill me for $15. Even the $25 lamb meal isn't that filling. I live locally but only go here on the odd occasion. Nice enough place for a meal out but really not going to be somewhere you could justify going to regularly. It's kind of worth it to get a whole leg of lamb but you need a few people involved for that and to book in advance which makes it less viable. Would love to see them add some items to their menu that are more filling and better value.

We ordered calamari, lamb ribs and chips. The foods was tasty but they are very stingy with quantity. Plus the chips were soggy. Don't recommend this place if you don't wanna be disappointed and hoping to get decent amount of food for what you paid. There are better place on King Street.

Anything with the word lamb in it will automatically grab my attention πŸ˜‚ so i was very excited to try this place out. Located in King St you know when your near as you can catch the scent of meat cooking on the spit 50 metres from the actual shop front.
We where quite hungry so we tried a few different dishes. The char grilled lamb ribs where very tender , melt in your mouth, highly recommended and the lamb souvlaki with crispy hand cut chips is a must. The service was great and food came quite quickly. The price is a little on the heavy side for the amount of food you get but overall very happy with our meal. We will be back again to try the whole lamb shoulderπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘.

Saturday lunch trip, not very busy at all. We ordered the lamb souvlaki, calamari, chips and small chicken plate. Food was average: chicken was quite fatty and didn't come with any salad (only pita and meat). Calamari was good, our 4 year old scoffed down two plates which was great. All in all, nothing to write home about, we won't go out of our way to go back.

The trail of charcoal smell was promising but it was a great DISAPPOINTMENT! The lamb was under cooked, and had lots of fat. The serving was a joke, $25.50 for a small serving of meat and pita bread. No salad nor chips. When it's an open souvlaki with that price I'd expect at least chips or salad. You don't get that. I left that place feeling hungry with a big hole in my pocket. Don't believe the hype !

I can't complain at all about the quality but $25 for 200g of lamb and a bit of bread seemed a bit over the top.
The souvlaki was only $15 and contained just about the same amount of food. That would have been a better bwt.
