Review To Be Thai - Brisbane

Michelle Osbaldiston
Great Thai restaurant in the heart of New Farm. Street parking. The restaurant is intimate and not a large area but would accommodate more people (outside) in the warmer months. They had heaters which was great and the food was amazing. The staff were so friendly and our waitress never stopped smiling. The prices were reasonable. We booked a table for 4 peeps and had a banquet from the menu which was more than enough food for our bellies. This restaurant is BYO for wine and beer. Will definitely be going back. Worth checking out.

Decided to chance this place as we had a show at Brisbane Powerhouse. Good location and it seemed that it was popular with due to that. Place was busy, service was quick and perhaps too efficient….?! I queried what veggies were going to be in a particular stir fry, and the wait staff bought out a list of what seemed like exactly what would go into it. I omitted a couple, and confirmed what would be in it. I was impressed, till the dish came out with 2 other veggies not specified. I didn’t bring it to their attention as my dinner companions meal had arrived and it would have delayed the evening. The other main was a pork stir fry, which turned out to be cold. For a dish that is supposed to be straight from the wok, didn’t make sense. As it had been plated with rice already, they advised they could heat the food on the plate in the micro, and heat the remaining via the wok. Both the plate and the main plate came out at the same time with a couple of minutes. Both had been microwaved. The rice was room temperature as well. Due to time constraints to the rest of the evening pre planned, we decided to cut our losses and just eat, pay and leave. Staff were busy, it definitely feels like a lot of food is pre made and heated as even the table of six near us received their food in record time after they ordered. May come back, but not for a while.

My favourite thai in Brissy and there's great lunch specials. Meals are delish and unlike some places the meals always come with plenty of veggies. Big fan of the chili basil stir fry, tom yum & pad see ew.

Great meal and good service for the two of us. We had the vegan spring rolls to start and they were the best we have had in ages. Then my wife enjoyed the Tofu with lots of vegetables while I had the prawns with lots of vegetables. Both meals were great and we were pleasantly surprised by the good mix of vegetables (lots, as stated on the menu). The prawns were perfect. We also ordered vegan fried rice which was nice but we could have gone without once we saw the size of our mains. The mains were a good size and a glass of wine each topped of a great meal.

I've only had takeaway from To Be Thai but it's never disappointed! I love that they offer delivery to local suburbs and I'm always surprised by how promptly it arrives. The servings are generous and I like the little but lovely details added to the dishes (such as a sprinkle of toasted coconut on top of the Coconut Rice or a wedge of lemon to make the flavours pop in a Pad Thai). I really appreciate how there is a good balance between meat/protein, sauce and veggies, and the fact that they use a variety of veggies with different textures too. To Be Thai is a local gem!

Average puntuation for an average place. I don’t mean is not a good restaurant but it didn’t surprise me with the food or place itself. The food was okey and the price as well.

Can't compliment this venue enough. I never leave reviews but I just had to for this evening was just the best. The food was wonderdul and quick. Most of all we are so grateful for the exceptional hospitality for our tiny human. Resturants with a 17month old can be a handful but they were so accommodating, the kids menu was excellent and they provided some colouring for her as well. Just amazing 👏 Many Many Thanks

The best seller: Crispy barramundi with spicy mixed herb sauce and cashew nuts is quite amazing, I’ve had it twice this week! The service is good, tables on the footpath, prices very reasonable, they also have interesting drinks like the Thai lychee ice tea etc

Food and service was excellent. Will be my go-to Thai place from now on!

Nice little gem on the corner - had a lovely lunch here with two great curries and fast and friendly service.
The restaurant is very open so there's a nice relaxed atmosphere.

Very good prices and great staff. I've had a few mix up with my orders and they are very responsive with fixing any issues.

The food is great, especially would recommend there pad kee mao, they have perfected it!

The thai staff is very friendly and good service. The place is very clean and the price is not expensive. They serves a nice meals and the whole steam chilli fish were absolutely delicious! I also ordered the Thai milk tea that's nice! I definitely highly recommend for everyone. I will be back!

Come at lunchtime for the specials. Great Kai lan duck and good enough Pad Thai. The default seems to be mild but accommodating staff happy to crank up the spice for you. Pretty sizes generous. Will come back at night to check out the rest of the menu. Recommend.

After few orders from this restaurant and adding clear instrcutions in the order. Every time we receive our order. We never receive anything that's in the instrcutions. If you are going to order please do consider going straight in instead of ordering it online. Learnt my lesson. Thanks 2be Thai for charging me with those great and tasty food. Loved it.

I love Thai people, they always seem to smile with such warmth. The service here matched my previous experiences.
The food was good quality Thai. Nothing particularly remarkable, except the curry puffs. They were amazing, I've eaten quite a lot of Thai food & from my understanding seemed authentic.
We had green curry, masaman curry, satay sticks, curry puffs & chicken rice. The highlights being the two later.
The beef masaman curry was slightly watery compared to one's I've previously had. The beef was beautiful & tender though.
I'll almost certainly be back. It's local. The staff are lovely & food above average.

My friend and I visited for dinner on a Thursday evening. for a Thursday night, in the suburbs, we noted that there were quite a few patrons in the restaurant. One little disappointment was that even though this is quite a small restaurant I had to go up to the counter and ask for service. Once we did get table service, the staff were friendly. I ordered the Sweet Penang Chicken Curry with steamed rice. The rice was served in a delightful little bucket. The curry was also a generous portion, so much so that my friend took the rest of my meal home in a takeaway container. I should have heeded the menu warning, when it said 'sweet' it really was sweet. In fact, it was far too sweet for my liking. Perhaps, this says more about my pallet than the curry itself. My friend had the Yellow Chicken Curry with coconut rice. She was entirely happy with her meal. Overall, I would probably visit here again, just to give them another try as this place is what I would call 'cheap eats' for those on a budget.

The staff here are friendly! Would definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting easy parking and great service. The Penang Curry was delicious but the fried rice could improve it was too salty to have with anything else. We love the curry puffs it was absolutely tasty. I've tried all the dessert and it's definitely not something I'd order ever again the vanilla ice cream taste like it came out of the fish freezer. The sticky rice wasn't sticky it was dry and hard. Thai-wi rat in fortitude valley is still my favourite Thai restaurant by far. They're much cheaper and there isn't one dish that I can find anything to fault.
Slick Chef Extraordinaire. Gangster Of Food.
2B Thai restaurant is legit, as authentic as you will find in Brisbane. You don't get that westernized feel you normally find in Brissie. These guys are onto it. Delicious food well balanced and full of flavour. Will definitely be back.
No Name Required
2B Thai is deceptive. While it looks like your run-of-the-mill Thai restaurant that serves "Australian Thai" it is surprisingly authentic and if you ask for it to be authentic they do a very good job. Excellent Tom Yum, very decent Massamam and great curry puffs. Of course, they do a fairly good Pad Thai too.

The decor is very standard "Australian Thai" but the service is VERY good. The main waitress always remembers your order, your name and is walking proof that Thailand is the land of smiles. The service is prompt, the food comes out very quickly and it's very fresh.

If you are looking for somewhere to get a good solid authentic Thai meal, this is your place.
Tara
Friendly, delicious and surprisingly generous servings. We made requests for slightly more vegetables to be added and this was no problem at all

So, 2B Thai have been in the Farm for a while. While we aren't regulars here, we thought to check it out tonight. It was lovely. Try the whole fried tamarind barramundi. Devine and easy to eat - it is cut so you can easily pull the meat from the bones.

Yep I love this place, I go there weekly. I also get delivery and it doesn't take too long. The staff are always so welcoming and friendly, the food is quick, and always delicious. The best thing is that its consistent! I've never NOT had a good meal there. It's always been fantastic, and anyone who I have taken there agrees :)

I think that thai food in general does small servings but this restaurant isn't too bad in terms of that. I would highly recommend their satay sauce - its thick, nutty and authentic. Their spring rolls are thick and not too greasy! The pad see ew dish is incredible; I adore it despite not enjoying it at other restaurants. Their pad thai is fantastic; not overly sweet, filled with fresh vegetables, and plenty of noodles. Their penang curry sauce is fantastic and ditto that about their green curry sauce.I cannot fault this place.

Tasty Thai. We were heading to the Powerhouse for a girl's night out and we wanted a quick and delicious dinner before our 7pm show. We parked at the Powerhouse so we needed somewhere no more than a 10-15 minute walk away and we ended up at 2B Thai. This was an excellent choice in the little restaurant precinct that is Merthyr Road at New Farm.

Firstly the place is set out really nicely and is very clean and pleasant - it is byo but with a bottle shop straight across the road, no problems. The service was also excellent with a very pleasant waitress taking our order. Food was out in good time too - so definately a great choice for those with a deadline.

The three of us shared a salt and pepper calamari stir fry, vegetarian pad thai and the duck special on the menu - roasted duck in red curry sauce. All three dishes were absolutely delicious with very generous serves - not sure about the earlier review saying the duck was a measly serving, I don't agree at all, there was plenty of duck for the price (this place is NOT expensive at all). I couldn't say which of the three was my favourite dish - the pad thai was very authentic with good flavour, the calamari was spot on - good salt and pepper flavours (which often go missing in salt and pepper dishes in other places) and a generous amount of calamari and the red duck curry - well I love duck and I love red curry, so that one was a winner - I liked the addition of lychees to the dish, fresh and just a little different to the norm.

So highly recommend 2B Thai and I am sure I will be back.
Renee Nicholson
Disappointing. This place used to have good food but the last couple of times I have been there I have been shocked at how bad the food was. I got the special duck dish and there were about 3 measly pieces of duck in there the rest was sauce and rice, what a rip off!!! Servings are really small for an expensive price for Thai, won't be coming back.

Excellent Restaurant - Excellent Service. I went to this restaurant last week. The establishment is clean and well laid out. I had mussamun curry and curry puffs. The curry puffs were delicious and the mussamun I would class as the best in Brisbane.

What makes the restaurant is the service of staff. Couldn't be more helpful and Oat the head waitress is the best! I would highly recommend!
Fifi
Definitely one of the better and more authentic Thai restaurants of brisbane. Chicken green curry is on point as is the pad see ew. Lovely Thai flavours, lots of fresh Thai basil. Service has always been friendly. Would recommend
Jonathan Ferguson
The food was really good. But, the lunch portion was just a bit small for the price.
Samantha.j
Unhelpful staff. I must say I was quite disappointed that the girl who served me did not speak English and she did not know what i said!
but the food was delicious and value price for dinner.
Richard
Felt disappointed. My husband and I went to the restaurant on last Monday. We were surprised at the rudeness of waitress.
The entree was good ,but It wasn't hot.
I don't mind paying extra money but only if i get some good food and OK service.

Another great Meal. Just come back from another great Thai Banquet at 2BThai . We had beef with Ginger and Garlic and it was just superb. We also ordered a Prawn Pad Thai and it was oozing flavour. Entrees were Chicken Satay which are baby tender chicken and crunchy satay sauce. We were served and out in an hour so great for a quick lunch out of the CBD. Highly recommend it!

The best Thai in Brisbane!

Diana. Finally got to try 2B Thai & was pleasantly suprised. Firstly let me comment on the great service from such a sweet waitress. Next the food & I have to say it is one of the better Thai restaurants around town, I had the mixed entree & just loved those juicy fishcakes laced with fresh Thai herbs. My main was the prawn Thai salad & I ordered it hot it thats exactly what I got, was just swimming in fresh birds eye chilli (loved it!) We sat outside & being a balmy evening had quite a romantic air to the whole night!

I have tried at least 6 Thai restaurants around brisbane and I would rate 2b Thai the best one by far! For obvious reasons such as the owner is Thai , the chef is Thai also from a family of chefs (which i found out after going back as a regular) it is located in new farm & whenever I pick up take away the place is quite busy. I enjoy the serving size as I eat quite a lot of food and the price is good considering its located in new farm just off merthyr rd. Great job 2B Thai !

Amazing Food and Quality Service. We are locals in the area. The food here is simply amazing everytime. The service... Micky is lovely, takes pride in making sure you are happy and Reg our delivery guru has great humour & always a pleasure to see. We started ordering their "Home Delivery Service" orders over $30 amazing! Just what you need after a busy day's work. We decided to dine in recently and the service was superb. The Restaruant has a relaxing comfortable feel, quiet so you can hear each other talk. Thai Green Chicken Curry, Chicken Pad Thai and Fish Cakes are to die for. Im not one for sweets but their deep fried icecream was amazing! Ill be dining in again and ordering same. So nice to have great food and great service combined.
Reality Check
Very good value for $, amazing Thai flavour, worth a visit

Had a lovely meal here tonight. The hubby and I purchased a Scoopon voucher and by the time we got around to making a booking, they were booked out for 4 weeks. We were the first customers for the evening but the place soon filled up. A lot of variety on the menu. We had the chicken satay and curry puffs to begin with which were very tasty. For mains we tried the pad see ew (like a pad Thai but with larger flat rice noodles) with chicken which was full of flavor and the chefs special Penang duck which came in a red curry. This dish was nice but duck was a bit fatty and the curry was lacking flavor. A little too much coconut milk. Staff were very friendly. We will defiantly give the place another go!

Great Thai Restaurant. Had an amazing meal last night. Loads of good stuff on the menu - it was very hard to choose. I had Panang Curry with Prawn and my partner had Mixed Seafood Garlic & Pepper Stir Fry. Both dishes were fantastic with beautiful flavours. The best Thai food I've had for years. The staff were lovely, very happy and friendly. Will be going back for more!
Cheryl
Friendly staff ,food is ok I like the Tom Tom soup n entree the satay chicken!

Love it!. After reading reviews on Urbanspoon, my husband and I decided to have a quiet dinner there. We are now not surprise to all the reviews as we had an excellent service from a friendly waitress. I had a very tasty house special, crispy chicken, love the sauce and my husband had a Duck kalian stir fry, it was amazing too. The duck was tender and very nice with green vegetable. Well done chef! We strongly recommend to every Thai food lover.

Shall return. I got the beef salad and thought it was pretty good (spicy!), but my partner ordered their crispy chicken and is now obsessed.

Your service is atrocious! Smiling and saying please and thank you doesn't cost anything! Do something about it!
Orange Blossom Special
2B So Good!. Delicious and savoury! Although prices are slightly higher than out in the suburbs, the dishes are generously sized and mouth-wateringly fantastic! Great service and a nice décor, 2B Thai is a fantastic place to check out!

It had been a Thursday evening when my partner and I, along with some friends, headed to New Farm to try 2B Thai. I had more than a few people tell me how good it was, so I was excited to check it out!

Arriving at 6:30pm it was not busy at all, but over the course of the evening, it did fill up with more patrons. The décor was quite polished with great attention to detail and an accessible lay out with tables placed so that it was easy to walk through.

A very friendly waitress showed us to a table and brought over our menus. They had a great selection including a few specials, but the prices were a bit higher than other establishments in more suburban areas.

After some time of trying to decide, the four of us came to a verdict and ordered the Panang Curry with Chicken ($16.90), Phuket Curry with Roast Duck ($20.90), Crispy Salt & Pepper Chicken with Garlic ($17.90), and the Stir Fried Beef in Oyster Sauce ($16.90).

My friend had brought some wine for the two of us to share, but in that there was four of us, we all got charged a corkage fee. I really dislike this when a restaurant charges patrons this way. We only used two glasses so it’s not like we were creating a huge mess. Also, there was no clear listing of what the charge was other than at the end when my partner saw the bill upside down, noticed “4 x’ and a scrawled amount that was not legible, so I cannot say what the fee was.

Our meals started appearing shortly thereafter and were brought out one at a time. The servings were huge and beautifully presented! The fragrance was amazing and unique with each dish.

The Panang Curry with Chicken had a sweet peanut flavour that was complimented by coconut cream which delivered a richly luxurious texture. Completed with large pieces of tender and juicy chicken and an assortment of veggies (onion, red capsicum and some other ones I’m missing) it was a succulent dish that was absorbed well by the steamed rice.

The Phuket Curry with Roast Duck was cooked in a spicy red curry with an interesting addition of both pineapple and lychee. This gave a delicious burst of flavour when bitten into and such a contrast to the creamy curry. The roast duck was also tender and juicy and with its distinct flavour was quite different to the panang curry. This dish was a whole different experience with the fruity sweetness and was very refreshing to eat! This was an excitingly tasty dish!

Next was the Crispy Salt & Pepper Chicken with Garlic. It was one of the most enjoyable and intensely-flavoured meals I’ve had! The freshly breaded chicken was alive with easily recognizable salt and pepper with the garlic protruding magnificently onto the scene. This was definitely an intrusive dish (in a good way) that over powered the others’ subtlety. Not that there was anything wrong with that, but this salt & pepper chicken had set the bar high in flavour!

Last to come out was the Stir Fried Beef in Oyster Sauce. A huge dish with large noodles and a generous amount of vegetables (mushroom, onion, red capsicum, broccoli and I believe bok choy). The oyster sauce, usually strong in salty flavour, this time paled in comparison after having the salt and pepper chicken. The beef was in large tender pieces which was deliciously done, all cooked fresh. This meal I will have to try again, alone and not competing with anything else. We all still really liked this dish – in fact, we all really liked every dish!

All the meals we tried were incredible! Well put together and presented proudly. 2B Thai is an outstanding restaurant and deserves all the praise I’ve ever heard about it!

I can easily recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves or wants to try Thai cuisine! A perfect spot to meet with friends or even for a date night, 2B Thai will not disappoint!

Yum,yum. I came here with a friend on a busy Thursday evening. Quite simply the food was delicious. I will definitely be returning here and I highly recommend it to all Thai food lovers.
Ranga With An Appetite
Just Okay. Went there for a lunch special, ordered the Massaman, the taste was not bad but the spuds were under done and the beef was quite fatty. Pretty average overall.

Easily over looked, but a L.... Easily over looked, but a
Lovely place to eat. Friendly service and a nice meal. I got the satay chicken, enjoyed the meal very much. Could have been a little bit hotter. Rice was slightly cold.

Brilliant food, Brilliant service. I googled and found reviews on Urbanspoon and that is how I found this little gem. Ordinary looking with extraordinary taste and service. We had a pre arranged take away and it was ready exactly on the minute and hot and tasty tasty. All 6 of us who ate a Thai food lovers and everyone was raving about it. Recommend!

2B Thai - New Farm, Brisbane. A very modest-sized facade in the heart of New Farm, 2B Thai is easy to glance over yet far from inconspicuous. It might have more of a feeling of a movie set (it would not be bad if used as such, actually) with being open and able to be glanced at with one look that is all it should take to convince someone to come here. Coming here with my dining buddy, we used a coupon allowing us to the dinner banquet which was worth it.

One word to describe the interior is cute. As far as decor goes, there is not a lot outstanding either way to talk about; some parts are a bit crowded - usually around the counter area. The hygiene standard is clean and presentable enough. The fact that it is completely glass might make one feel like a goldfish in the bowl but that could also be advantageous by showing its popularity.

The night I went the service was both subjectively and objectively top notch; it was a one-woman army. The waitress was not only hard-working, she was efficient; proficient and brought out each order in comfortable and easy timing she did all of this while having a smile on her face along with dealing with over half-a-dozen other patrons. Her work ethic and dedication were impeccable - I saw no signs of her being stressed.

For dinner, it was a six course banquet; (1) prawn crackers, (2) choice of 1 entree from the selection, (3) choice of a soup each from selection, (4) I could choose a main, (5) my dining buddy could choose a main and (6) choice each of dessert from selection.
Prawn crackers are one food I might either dismiss or wave off to the side - they are what they are. However, these prawn crackers did not leave that greasy feeling in my mouth. They were well-presented and crispy. I enjoyed them as an appetizer/canape.
Both my dining buddy and I are both easy to please and indecisive. So it was a welcome relief that one of the choices for entree was a mixed platter - one each of spring roll, curry puff, chicken satay, fish cake and calamari ring. Again, the spring roll was what it was - at least this time I could detect a bit of meat in it. The curry puff was slight tangy and had a crisp, well cooked outside. The fish cake was delicious and not too rubbery; there was even a distinct hint of fish flavour in it. As for the chicken satay, the chicken was tender and well cooked falling off the stick with ease; the sauce was pleasantly spicy with a deep peanut piquancy. The calamari was well-battered and had the right texture to it - recognisably squid but not too stringy to eat.
The choices of soup were either Tom Yum or Tom Kha. The Tom Yum had quite a bit of bite in it with both spicy and tomato flavours to it. The Tom Kha was more soothing and allowed for the depth of flavour to sink in deeper - with kaffir lime and basil.
Next was the choice of mains - my dining buddy chose the Duck Phuket and I chose the mixed seafood Pad Kee Mao. Both choices were unorthodox and exceptional. The Pad Kee Mao was more flavourful than its other noodle dish counterparts usually are with hints of basil and chili both mingling well yet co-operating; there was also some sweetness in it in the form of small bits of fruit creating a symphony for the taste-buds. The texture never felt boring and had a fair bit of variety to it. The Duck Phuket could be described as a red curry duck spruced up. The sauce was creamy yet bold, and the duck was very tender aided by well-cooked skin trapping in the need flavour. There was a perfect mix of vegetables and meat.
For dessert, we both got the ice cream with lychee. I chose to have strawberry topping. By technicality, it did state singular for lychee so do not be disappointed if there is only one. Regardless, the lychee is fresh and very sweet. The ice cream they used is creamy and the vanilla taste is genial. Surprisingly, the strawberry sauce is not overbearing and definitely nowhere near as sweet as it often is. This was a much needed finisher to the meal.
To drink, I ordered a Thai Iced Tea with Milk. It was delicious and hard to describe the flavour and texture, but it certainly was not like much that I have tried in the past. A very refreshing drink, it is worth a go for something different.

Warm, inviting and very friendly 2B Thai is one place to look out for. What is might lack in space it more than makes up for in service and food. Never a dull dish here, this is one place I shall return to and take people there with me.

Everything you want in your local Thai Restaurant. Delicious and authentic with wonderful Thai style service. Everything you want in your local Thai restaurant. Quite busy, which is always a good sign, but fast friendly service. This is my first review, I felt I owed them an encouragement after such good value. If they keep it up they will be around for a while.

Nice and Simple. The place is small and offers a wide ranging menu. The service is friendly and they are eager to please. Nice food, good quality and tasty and didnt have to wait long for it. The five of us were all happy with our meals. It's BYO which makes it easy too as there is a bottlo over the road. Will go again.

Great food!. Came here on a voucher and had the vegetarian spring rolls, panang tofu curry and the cashew tofu stirfry. Delicious!!! The panang curry was out of this world! Sweet, creamy with a bit of spice it was sooo good! The stirfry was also great, such large portions we took it home. Best thing was they don't skimp on the tofu or cashews. Plenty of flavour and great service too. Will definitely be back!

We will be back. The meals were good sizes and so delicious. We tried the specialty dish - which was very tasty as well as the Thai green curry. The service was very good.

Good value. Tasty food. Great prawn pad thai

Value for money. We had an online voucher. Pleasant prompt service. Large portion sizes however maybe lacking in flavour
Brendan
Good with some spice but slow service and if you have Siam Square across the road - why bother?

Pleasantly surprised!. Yummy food and great friendly service. My husband and I had a voucher from the Brisbane Dining Book for this restaurant so thought we would give it a try. For entree we had the chicken satay which was just right. I had the prawn Pad Thai on the waitresses recommendation for main and am glad I did as it was very yummy indeed. My husband had the Green curry which he also said was great. Both of us left just under half our meals each as we were bursting from the seams. My husband was also very happy that it was BYO beer. The whole dinner came to $26.90 and we would definitely go back.
The Giddy Aunt
Thai Charms has changed mgt. Tonight I thought I was going to Thai Charms for a reliably good take away dinner. It seems they have changed management and re-branded themselved "2b Thai".

To 2b not 2b...Well definately NOT 2b! I waited more than 25 mins. For 15 mins a bag of fried things intended to be the mixed entree was left on a shelf while the rest of the dinner was concocted.

By the time I got home (less than 5 mins trip) the entree was hard, cold and inedible. The Penang duck curry was luke warm and bland. It was truly awful. The whole lot went to the bin, and I am the kind of chick who NEVER throws away food. Beyond awful, really. And it cost over $30.

I'll never go back. Serves me right for choosing not to go to Vue. They always serve great food, with great staff.
Jazc
Finding good thai food around new farm doesn't seem to be an easy task. Thai charms is one of better places. Very friendly service with decent standard thai fair that's also reasonably priced.
TheQueenslander
Great casual Thai. Located across the road from Merthyr Village/Coles, Thai Charms is convenient for takeaway and casual dining. Whilst the decor is big on purple, pink and fairy lights, the tables spill out onto the footpath and the restaurant, always clean looking. It might improve the atmosphere if they opened the glass panels opening to Merthyr Rd a bit more.

Highlights are their duck dishes, in particular, the curry and cashew stir-fry. Their prawn fried rice is as tasty as many found in Bangkok and the menu, more than adequate for a family meal. Not high end by any means, the prices are pretty reasonable - with main dishes around $14-19.

Dishes are not subtle. They are richly seasoned and occasionally sweeter than other Thai restaurants, but definitely generous in ingredients and prepared fresh. Can't accuse them of being bland. A recommended local eatery.
ThatSeriousGirl
...I decided on 2B Thai because they had a cute name~! The shop is really easy to find,... It's not a particularly big restaurant, quite narrow with lots of footpath seating but it had a great relaxed dinner vibe...I convinced VGirl to get the vegetarian fried rice with me to share because I had read a review saying the fried rice was fantastic here. It's not a lie, I think we ate more than 3/4 of the plate before our mains had arrived. The vegetarian rice was full of tomato, broccoli, cucumber and kai lan pieces, the rice was fluffy and well separated, while it was also all coated in this deliciously savoury soy based sauce with a charry flavour. We polished off the plate, had a huddle, checked our wallets and decided to get a SECOND plate...
