Taste Of Penang - Brisbane - Photo album

Any Malaysian spending longer than 3 months in a foreign county will have their heads going crazy for some food from home. Was I satiated? Beyond words. Taste of penang serves authentic Malaysian food. No kidding. Don't let its appearance of dull/simple decor fool you. It's the magic going on in the
Friendly boss and yummy char kuay Teow that is recommended to me by a local Penang Friend! Been bringing my family and friends ever since! Cravings will always be satisfied!
Got the vegetarian laksa, which tasted great.. Until I found what looks like a prawn leg in it. Very disappointed since I checked twice on whether the broth had any bone stock or crustacean in it
Being a Penangite who has been in Brisbane for more than 5 years, I always crave and try to find food that is similar to hometown. Char Koay Teow, Mee Goreng and Pulut Tatal were very close to what you can get in Penang. Not to mention, the level of spiciness is always spot on (I always get the hot
The char kuey teow (fried kiey teow), curry puff, lobak (deep fried pork mince roll), and chee cheong fun (rolled rice sheets) are really good and authentic! Taste much better than the random hawker stalls back home. The really good Penang ones are still slightly better but this is not far from it!
Very authentic Penang style food, closest thing you can get for Penang food in Brisbane. The char kuay teow and the Mee goreng are awesome. The Chee cheong fun and the lor bak are also both really well made
Excellent. Can only vouch for the Nasi lemak beef rendang and roti with beef rendang but both were delicious. Service was quick and friendly. I will be coming back and will update review after more dishes. Char Kuey teow looks great and is next on my list.
Had the MiGoreng was very spicy for mild spice, very oily and have vomited numerous times the next day after I had eaten it :(
