My favorite cafe in Brisbane, friendly staff and wonderful food.
Hidden away in a side street. Outstanding food and very friendly staff. I can highly recommend the corn and zucchini fritter waffles. The coffee is excellent.
Great service with friendly local vibe!! Good coffee and delicious food. Groovy mugs. We had coffee, the coconut granola and the avo smash!! Delicious!!
Ordered the Dirty Benny with a side of pulled pork and have to say it was the best breakfast I've had all year! Staff were friendly and accommodating. The venue is a little cosy, but that's great for a cool winter morning. Will definitely be back!

The service is very friendly and Nick knows my coffee off by heart . I always try new things on the menu and am never disappointed with what has been served to me , the last time i got the dirty benny , eggs are always cooked perfectly !
As long as Nick owns this cafe I will be sure to come back on a regular !
Visited Blue Poppy yesterday for the first time, it was so good I came back today.
Excellent service, yummy food, good coffee and very well priced. Cheaper than a lot of other cafes I've visited for brekky lately.
Food was hot and delicious both times and came out very quickly. Even this morning at 9:30 on a Saturday when they were super busy food and coffee was out in record time.

Explored this local gem yesterday morning. It was a busy morning and the first thing attracted my gaze was the temporary BBQ area at the shop front. This is the extra set-up for the weekend BBQ rolls that they serve. Went in the café and there were lots of peoples near the counter where were four staff working on the orders with at least two chefs in the kitchen. Set-up was divided into indoor home-feel dining area and al fresco gathering long tables. I ordered my flat white and the smoked trout for the savoury dish. Coffee came in very quick and it was strong enough for me but the taste was not one of my favorite. Wait foe another five minutes then my Smoked Trout dish was ready. Wow, presentation really deserved a "wow" effect. The poached egg sitting on the top of smoked trout pieces with rockets underneath and the dark rye at the bottom. I liked the touches of smoky taste and the fish came in a soft texture. The poached egg went well with the rocket, fish and especially those capers which offered the saltiness and a bit of sourness. Very refreshing effect with the pickled red onions. Overall, it was a very nice brekkie experience and this café is highly recommended.
Absolutely the best coffee and friendly service. Nick and the team never dissapoint. The atmosphere is relaxing with plenty of buzz.
This is an absolute gem tucked away in the suburbs.

Not exactly situated for passing traffic / footfall so they must be doing something right. End of a Saturday ride brekkie was a really pleasant surprise. Had excellent mushroom ragout on good sourdough. Good coffe. Casual and efficient service (MAMIL friendly). Penciled this in for a return visit when off the beaten track again!
What an experience! I was served by multiple staff, every single one of them were so joyful! Seriously has to be the best service I've experienced. Wait time for everything was reasonable. The coffee was spot on, it's hard to find a place that gets a black coffee right but these guys nailed it on the head! The food was AMAZING, do yourself a favour and get the dirty benny, the jalapeño hollandaise on it was super tasty! I'll be back here as much as possible!

I'm a creature of habit, so I hate when food isn't consistent. But not here! The food is always the same, delicious, mouth watering goodness!
I love their Eggs Benedict and Cheese Toasties.
Every single one of the staff are so lovely and friendly. They're always up for a quick chat and a laugh, and very attentive to everything and everyone.
For those of you with dogs, Blue Poppy is a dog friendly Café. They got water bowls and everything for your fur babies.
So next time you're around Morningside, make sure you pop in for some delicious food, amazing coffee and great company.
Third or fourth visit to the Blue Poppy and the coffee was amazing as always. Seriously cannot fault here, consistently smooth tasting and quick service!
Have also tried a few of their toasties, on our most recent occasion we grabbed their chicken cheese and aioli one. In the past, their toasties have been on sourdough - it seems like they’ve switched to Turkish bread which is a bit of a shame. Despite this, was still pretty delicious and would order again. The only suggestion I will make make for here surrounds their use of takeaway plates and containers. Seems a bit wasteful considering we and quite a few others were dining in and they seem to have washing up facilities. Regardless, will definitely be back as the coffees as so good!⭐️
My coffee was made at the speed of light and somehow in that miraculous speed at which these people operate, everything was perfect. The tall lady serving at the counter usually has a great pun involving my name which is absolutely hilarious. Food is spectacular, service is spectacular and the coffee is even better. I've had a rough week and the staff at blue poppy always have a way to keep a smile on your face. Never change your awesome way guys and gal's! You're appreciated!

I ordered dirty egg Benny was yummolicious. Great venue and the girl at reception greet you with a lovely smile.Didn’t get to dine but ate in my car in break.Such a beautiful place and people.Yes definitely coming back 🙏😊
The food is great and service is prompt. I just don't think it's great value for money.
Having said that I'm a bit of a cheapskate that doesn't enjoy breakfast places at the best of times.
This place is so consistent. Hot or cold beverages. Nice bites. Dog friendly. Always busy but I can always get a seat that's socially distanced and staff have a good sense of humour. Love it!
