Needing a quick snack I decide on a Burrito Bowl with ground Beef. Service is quick and our meal is served in under 10 minutes. Freshly prepared, this Burrito Bowl is tasty! Thank you Guys!
As a fast food style type of restaurant I like Guzman. It seems to be healthier than others and it’s got enough vegetarian options. I like the one in Toowong particularly its outdoor tables.
In general the music makes me happy and staff are very energetic.

I'm a big Guzman y Gomez fan in general, but was a bit disappointed by the slow-cooked beef burrito I got today. First, I was thrown off by the fact that they were charging extra for the slow-cooked beef - they used to charge extra for the steak, but now they do for the beef as well. Couple that with the fact that there wasn't a great deal of beef in the burrito and I was a bit disappointed. I usually rate GYG burritos a 4, but this was a 3-3.5.
I was excited to try the new fries ($3 small/$5 reg), which are a bit unique in the fact that they are skin-on. The fries were good, but the best part was that they were serving organic Heinz ketchup.
Upon further reflection, it saddens me a bit that GYG have continued to mainstream their offerings. There is nothing Mexican about fries. They have done away with the traditional names (Beef/Chicken Guerrero and Chipotle Pork are now called slow-cooked beef, grilled chicken and pulled pork) and now they are serving fries and nacho fries. I guess I just wish they would stick to what they are good at.

For a fast food, relatively healthy feed, guzman y gomez deserves 4 stars. The outlet at toowong is not entirely air conditioned, so on a hot day, be prepared to sweat a little. The menu is pretty simple, I believe you can opt to be as healthy or as naughty as you like. The prices are very reasonable, there seems to be a loyalty system, but as I wasn't the paying diner, I am not too certain of the system.
Service was friendly and prompt.
Food was fresh and as mentioned above, surprisingly healthy tasting. I ordered the burrito bowl with free range chicken and added sour cream. For those whom are guzman first timers or mexican first timers, like me. It is a bowl of rice, black beans, topped with a healthy portion of cheese, a few but sufficient pieces of corn chips and the sour cream that I added. There is a small station where one can select the toppers such as fresh coriander, jalapeños (my fav), fresh onions and 3-4 different sauces with varying levels of spice.
It is a spot which I believe given a choice, I might go again. I am not a massive fan of mexican, but guzman y gomez may very well change that preference.
A tad expensive to have GYG for lunch most days but the burritos are fantastic and really fill you up. Have to say the Toowong store also seems to be a bit more generous with the filling than some of the other GYGs.
Guzman Y Gomez never fails to satisfy my craving for Mexican food!
I love that they are flexible enough to let me customise my order, and the staff is always friendly and pleasant.
I'll usually get a burrito bowl with spicy barramundi and brown rice. I love the combination and absolutely adore the perfectly cooked fish.
I'll always consider coming here should I have a craving flr Mexican food that I need satisfied.
Who doesn't love this place? That guys a loser! This is a great place! Foods always good. Corn chips are addictive. And those jarritos drinks are so good it hurts. Mandarin in particular.
I like GYG
Mexican food has its own taste and flavor which are nicely brought out in world of GYG.
The burritos and the quesadillas are very good to taste. The burritos are filling. Take one and you are done. Not heavy on your pocket as well.
A good place relax and have a couple of beers accompanied with great Mexican food.
The decor is good and the staff are courteous.
GYG is my favourite Mexican food chain. The barramundi bowl is pure genius and I love being able to grab extra free toppings for my meal. Friendly service and food comes out fast
Came here after the place we had originally intended to go to turned out to be closed. Pleasantly surprised by the food. Took a chance on the pan-fried barramundi as a burrito filling (that's not a traditionally Mexican thing), and found it to be quite tasty. The fish wasn't overcooked, and was nicely seasoned. The sauce station beside the serving counter also has a ready supply of chopped coriander you can add, which makes it even more flavourful.
