We used to frequent the restaurant when it was in Bulimba and we were so sadden to hear it go. We moved to the Graceville area recently and found the Ceylon Inn by accident to our delighted surprise. The food is still amazing, the staff excellent and the decor retained its great ambience. Our tastebuds are fulfilled again! 😋
HANDS DOWN the best Indian I have ever ever had !! Been twice now and loved it both times . Defiantly worth indulging in extra naan bread 😂
This place is amazing! I went here last night with my boyfriend and definitely recommend to others! The staff were so friendly and overly accommodating, the food was so delicious,"The best dahl I've ever had" a direct quote from my boyfriend. The restaurant is also beautiful I love the way it is decorated with beautiful lights, wall features and my boyfriend and I even sat in a swinging chair which was a fun experience in itself :) I felt like I was in such an authentic Sri Lankan restaurant! Will definitely be back again, thankyou to the staff for giving us such a great experience!
The friendly service here is the best I’ve experienced anywhere in Brisbane. Such a warm, kid friendly vibe when you walk through the doors. The rogan josh and beef korma were delicious as was the garlic, spinach and cheese naan. And then to top a fantastic evening off, a belly dancer got us up off our seats for a dance. The kids loved it! As always - thanks Ceylon Inn for another great night out!
As soon as we walked in, the staff were so friendly and happy which was nice. They checked up on us throughout the night and made sure we were having a good meal.
The curries we ordered were pretty good as well as the pakoras and overall was a nice Indian meal.
The decoration of the restoration is so lovely as well and would be an even better atmosphere when the place is busy!
This Indian restaurant has been around for 20 years or so in the same street. It has to be doing something right! You can always count on good food and good service. A safe option...if nothing else.
Good Indian here. Service is a bit up and down - had trainees before. Some of the tables are a bit awkward to sit around just saying - bit of an awkward distance between back rest & table. The food is what matters though & it is good here. Used to get the lamb kofta & pretty much all dishes are safe options. Nothing ground-breaking though to warrant a higher rating but I would recommend. Lots of the dishes have this iconic smokey flavour to them that I only seem to notice at this place which is nice
This is where we get out weekly takeout from. Delicious butterchikcen and garlic and cheese naan. We ate in last week and throughly enjoyed the coconut fish dish. The staff are always friendly and the decorations give the place an air of authenticity. If you're looking for consistently delicious Indian on the west side of Brisbane you cannot go past Ceylon Inn.
We had a lovely dinner here last night. Service a little slow but it was a busy Friday night and we managed to get a table without booking. Â I had an assorted mix of curries which is a nice idea if you don't like too much of one thing. Food was great quality and venue lovely too. Book the hanging chairs if there are two of you!
I've tried many Indian places in Brisbane, trying to find a stylish place reminiscent of the wonderful and sadly gone Scheherazade. Ceylon Inn is not that perfect place but its close enough. Breads are good. Curries ok for me. Good variety. Limited alcohol (hint: BYO), tea and coffee choices. Limited deserts. But a very reasonable local curry. Easy parking. Ambience. Recommend.
Great place.. Ceylon Inn is a truly awesome restaurant. The food always tastes amazing. I highly recommend the Ceylon (their signature dish). We use to visit the one in Toowong all of the time. The service was always very prompt with lots of friendly staff at Toowong and this one seemed no different. The atmosphere is very nice in the restaurant; I don't think it is quite as good as the old Ceylon Inn in Toowong, but still awesome.
Great Indian Takeaway. Had some Indian takeaway from this place last week, the curries were very flavoursome and tasted great! Also the garlic naan and rice was very nice.
Staff are out dated.. Lovely location, and wonderful food. The serving sizes are excellent for the money you pay, and definitely worth the wait for the quality you're delivered. If the older women serving could pay a little extra attention and not rush the customers- I might consider becoming a regular. Apart from the employees, a wonderful meal is constantly had.
Good but not mindblowing.. The mains were lovely and filling, the brownie was to die for but the service was a lacking. We were given the wrong order twice and despite calling and booking a table for dinner the moment they opened we had no table reserved and ended up being asked if it was ok to sit outside which we didn't have an option seeing as inside was packed. Tables outside were all on a slant which was not to my liking. Will go again, but maybe only for take away.
Beautiful decor, great service, well priced and delicious food! we had not been for a few years and were impressed - the new location is great! pleased to see old favourites have stayed on the menu.
Curry and Care. We have been regulars for a long time. The food is reasonably priced and consistently good. Staff are friendly and helpful but do need more training. Keep winning awards!

This the best Indian restaurant in Brisbane. Food is excellent, service and staff are friendly and excellent, decor is excellent. We had a large group and we all had a fantastic time.
Very Tasty!. The decor is superior to most Indian restaurants - clean and modern. The curries were fantastic, fresh and flavoursome and the service could not be faulted. Can't wait to come back soon!
My girlfriend and I went to Ceylon Inn at Graceville this evening and we we both agreed that this is 'the best' Indian in Brisbane. Beautiful layout, good ambiance, friendly staff and the best Chicken Tikka Masala I have had in Brisbane.
Not bad..... For an Australian curry it's not that bad...although I hate all this business of asking us if we want mild, medium or hot....it's a korma, so what do you think???
Anyway, little peeve aside, I have had worse curries. I've had better too... but I shall no doubt be back.
Nice place. Pretty good, I like to come here on a special occasion. The Decor is great, and the curry is great too. Will definately be back in the future! It would be great if they were licensed.
We just got takeaway. It was pretty good for Australia (an especially for Brisbane). Looks lovely inside. Will be going back for a sit down meal.
It always amazes me to read the negative comments about Ceylon Inn at Graceville, because I've been there many times and it's been consistently fantastic. I have never been to India and don't know if it's "traditional" Indian food, but I do know it's amazing. We went again recently - the decor is gorgeous, the staff are attentative, and the food comes quickly and is delicious. My personal favourite is the Ceylon chicken - incredible! My friends last night had a prawn dish and a beef dish - both fabulous, and the beef just fell apart and melted in your mouth.
Enjoyed the look and feel of the restaurant and the curries we picked were beautiful - the entree, mixed platter, was average but would definitely head to this restaurant again. Good service too.
Went out to Ceylon inn for dinner last night in graceville. Automatically the stunning interior and design caught our eyes. It was beauitful, from the plush chairs to the wooden carved poles. We were greeted at the door and shown right away to our table. The restaurant was packed to the Max and what surprised me was how great the service was! We were not waiting long at all to place our food order, and they were constantly checking up on us to see if everything was fine. The only downfall was the food. It was not very spicy and rather bland. The naan was too doughy and you could not taste the stuffing. The food itself looked better then it tastes. All in all it was a lovely experience, perhaps if you are a big Indian food lover, ask the waiter to have the food cooked extra spicy. Would Defintly go there again. Great for functions or birthdays. :-)
Enjoyed eating here. I have been here twice and have shared six different meals all have been fanastic. The service was equally pleasant.
Consistently good. We have been here on numerous occasions. Its a pleasure to find a restaurant which in our experience always produces excellent quality delicious food. Long may it last!
Excellence Every Time. Whether its for eat in or take away from the ceylon inn, youre always in for a treat! This has long been our favourite spot to dine and we've never had a bad experience. The staff are always friendly, the food is always superb. Try the Ceylon Chicken, its to die for! Price is great for value and taste, you cant go past this place! Have recently revamped the place and the atmosphere is incredible!
Interior is beautifully set out, tight spaces but very intimately warm and can cater to large numbers. I organised a party of 20 and we were all delighted with the food. Although they did take a while timewise bringing out meals, a friend of mine said it would depend on the Chef as she went on a Friday night, full house and their meals were served quickly. I went on a Wed nite, so I guess the Chef was having a bad day. Still, loved this place. Recommend Highly. Plus im Vego so definitely go
Lovely Local. We were delighted when Ceylon Inn opened down the road from us. The staff vary but the food is excellent. I love that the chef is willing to make my off menu favourites on request (obviously not when they are packed as they often are). Have never been disappointed by the food and find the portions to be appropriate. Great value for money. The decor makes the visit - just stunning.
Birthday Dinner was a success :). I have dined at Ceylon Inn before and was happy to try it the second time. I attended a birthday party last week and it was a reservation for over 15 people.
We were seated outside which was fine considering our large group. It was a chilly night however heaters were on which made it just as comfortable.
Service was great. It was good to see the staff circulating around the restaurant. Considering we were the only table outside isolated from the inside tables we were very well looked after. Staff are clearing as they go and making sure we were ok for drinks and topping up our BYO wines/beers.
Our meals came out promptly - overall tasty curries and we overindulged.. Next time, might have to order just one curry for 2. Still managed to fit in a coffee. I'm really happy with what was served! Didn't expect it to be good for a restaurant like this! I usually expect that in a cafe!
I will defnitely return. Great place for intimate dinners and a night out with friends.
I hope your staff enjoyed the birthday cupcakes we have left for you ;).
Quite tasty fare, though lacking the oomph that Indian is known for. Very friendly staff and attentive service. Great decor.
The staff were very friendly, conversing with us when she cleared the table. The food came out seemingly quickly, but maybe because my friend and I were entrenched in properly chatting and catching up properly. It was a great second experience, aided by the atmosphere and vibe the nicely decorated venue had. It satisfied my Indian craving, so good that I think it may be a very long while before I return again.
We ordered take away dinner from Ceylon Inn Graceville today. This is one of the best Indian Cuisine I have tried since I have been in Brisbane for last 2 year. We highly recommend this place to everyone. Thank you for great service.
The manager and all the staff members are exceptional, from the front-end and back-end.
I will make my return for the amazing food and chefs here to try some authentic curries!
Yum
10/10
