Hidden treasure here! I was recommended by a friend to this coffee shop and I was not disappointed. Best coffee in the area hands down. I had relocated here 9 months ago and was depressed not being able to find good coffee. The owners are friendly and they roast their own beans as well. I had the chicken burger (also recommended) and it was great! The flavour combination of the mayo and the chilli.. Mmmm. It's my regular haunt now. On my off days I'll come here and sit down and watch the world go by.

My third stop on my coffee hopping tour through Brisbane took me to Ginger & Green or Toybox Coffee Roasters, as they also roast their own coffee. Emily, who I first met at the Regional Coffee Championships a few weeks ago, also holds the 4th place of the 2020 Australian Coffee Championships.
She prepared three different competition coffees for us: El Salvador, Ethiopia, and Panama. All coffees were light roasts and she ground the coffee very fine and brewed with a fast flow rate to extract the magical flavors our of these tasty beans.
I especially liked the coffee first coffee from Jorge Raul Rivera (El Salvador). I have personally met him after the COE program in El Salvador back in 2019. I was impressed by his farm and have such good memories. Enjoying his coffee was like a throwback in time:

Cherries are dried on african beds for 30 days in full shade with average temperatures of 20° celsius and humidity of 70%, moisture content is reduced to 10 -12%.
In the cup, the coffee showed a sparkling yellow peach acidity, a full and round body, purple fruits finish like blueberry and dark chocolate.
Soooooooooo nice! Thank you for this short trip back to El Salvador… and hopefully we ca all meet during MICE later this year.

An amazing breakfast spot. Feels homely. Staff is very friendly. I loved the smash avo. Prices are reasonable but not cheap. Smoothies were also a great choice. Love the design of the dishes. Pastries are also a very delicious option.

We came for the haloumi burgers- I decided last minute to get the chicken special. Unfortunately they ran out of buns so I had sourdough. The buns did look delicious though. <br/><br/>This burger was so good- tons of well cooked bacon- chicken breast and sriracha made for a delicious combo with the rocket and added onion. <br/><br/>My food came out a while after everyone else's which was annoying but I will no doubt be back. Especially to get something out of that cabinet- it looked delicious

Ginger and Green has always been a good hidden spot I was sad to find out they had reduced their opening times but it looks like things are looking better. I just had their egg and bacon roll with a coffee, both were faultless

This cafe is not so big, but it is fashionable. Food and beverage are also fantastic! A little bit expensive, but I satisfied with that. Lots of veges and flowers were included. I like green smoothie bowl. Anyway, this cafe's sense is really nice, I think :)

What an absolute delight this place was to find. Amazing coffee (with three blends to choose from), delicious cake and the ham and cheese croissant was tasty with fresh leg ham. Came back two days in a row i was that impressed by my initial visit. Oh and price point wise ..... So affordable. :)

Always on the hunt for the best, freshest, colourful and creative breakfast. This place is hands down the best I have experienced in Brisbane for sometime. Great for vegetarian sweet or savoury options with clearly best quality ingredients. Good made with love and respect. The environment is equally fresh and well considered.
Two Hangry Hippos
After having experienced the greatness that is The Ponycat, we were excited to try their new sister cafe, Ginger and Green, located on the ground level of the SW1 complex in South Brisbane. The menu reads in a similar fashion to The Ponycat, as it also takes classic dishes to the next level by adding a contemporary twist. One of the dishes we ordered was the Crispy Potato Skins with Pulled Beef, Bacon Marmalade, Blue Cheese, Prosciutto and Fried Eggs. Overall, it was a solid meal with great flavour combinations of sweet and savoury. However, it lacked texture which was surprising given the name “crispy potato”. They weren’t crispy at all and let down what would have been an awesome dish. Sadly the few pieces of prosciutto weren’t able to compensate for this.

Beautiful coffee!! <br/>This cafe is small and simple but well designed with a lot of sunlight coming through. They have a great selection of meals, all of which are presented beautifully. Be sure to add some bacon to your order, it's amazing!!! <br/>A great place for a quick coffee.

Came here for lunch a few weeks ago. It was a bit confusing whether it was table service or order at the counter for dining in and once we were told to take a seat, we had to wait too long for someone to take our order. Everything is at a great price point and the food was delicious with generous portions!

This great little spot was perfect for a weekend breakfast with friends. We came here for Sat brekkie and tasted Forrest mushroom and Carrot & coconut hotcake and were not disappointed! The Forrest mushroom had delicate flavours with special crispy poached egg and the carrot & coconut hotcake was really beautiful. Would definitely like to come back and try something different for sure!
The Brunch Plight
Relative new comer to the Brisbane food scene, Ginger & Green is brought to you by the owners of beloved Ponycat in New Farm, and the food is exciting and innovative. Putting up creative and sensational dishes requires a lot of effort, but the menu manages to wow us with their interesting twists on regular brekky favourites. We recently enjoyed their crispy potato skins with shredded beef, bacon jam, gorgonzola, crispy prosciutto and fried egg, a lot to take in but definitely one of our favourite savoury brunch dishes at the moment. Definitely check out their fish finger butty and double chocolate brownie pancakes too, we’re pretty keen to try the whole menu!

Awesome, its my new local when at work. Staff are so friendly and efficient. I'm not a coffee person but even I can appreciate the effort they put into their speciality coffees. I am a chai latte person and it beats all the other coffee shops around it
